Do you think a relationship with Ray in Mint Eye would’ve worked out? (If Rika chose not to intervene and let Ray and MC be)

Rika, inevitably, doesn't want Ray to exist in the end. Her plan of dominance and revenge leads to a point where she's going to do what we see her do in canon. Sooner or later, MC is going to do something she doesn't like, and she will use that to get what she wants. She will either torture you to keep Ray in line or she will do what she does in Ray Route, she'll take Ray away and use you as a pawn.

That's all you are to Rika once she realizes you have the "gall" to twist Ray's arm.

There is only one way to be in a long-term relationship with Ray, and that is if, realistically, you grow close to him over the course of a few months, and you spend that entire time trying to help deprogram his brainwashing to the point where he will be willing to leave that place. The route itself does show how that could be plausible, too. Mystic Messenger is a speed-run of what would take place over a couple of months naturally, after all, especially in the case of Another Story.

It would take months for Ray to let his guard down!

If you want to leave that place with Ray, then it needs to be a long form operation where you help him believe that he can have strength to survive in the outside world. I don't think it's 100% impossible, but it would take a lot of work to get him from Point A to Point Z. It starts with his concern for your safety and it can shift into his dreams after that. "I don't want you to be in pain like me" = His willingness to lie to Rika to protect you despite knowing the risk.

Ray knows Mint Eye isn't a good place.

He knows that in his heart, and if you can help him break away from that, you can get out... you just need to make sure nobody snitches on him... since that's what happened. Someone saw Ray and MC in the garden and Rika found out. Rika isn't NOT going to intervene in any reality. There's one or two Bad Endings where Rika might not do much to the player, namely the V Route Bad Relationship Ending and the Common Route's Bad Ending, but outside of that?

Her goals are too important for her to let her "weapon" have anything on his mind but revenge and deep breathing.

I think the relationship could very well work for Ray and MC, but Rika is always going to hurt you or Ray for it... I suppose you could argue... that, perhaps, if the MC pretended to be cruel like in BE1, that could keep MC and Ray in Mint Eye, but again, even if you play along with Rika's game, that doesn't protect you. It just gives you a momentary lapse before the world caves in and you, Ray, and Saeran suffer for it.

Tldr; Ray and MC will always work out if that's the intent, but Mint Eye will destroy them if they don't get out.

Blog/OC story intro

This blog is focusing on the characters Wesley Burchell and Aurelius (Ari) Stevens, and some other characters in their universe.

I'll specifically be focusing on Wesley a lot, since i want this story to be told mostly from his point of view. it should be noted that anything written in his pov can not be taken as fully accurate 100% of the time. he's an unreliable narrator, sometimes his view of things can be warped. if you ever want to ask me about any details, feel free. i may be able to clarify and add some things to help add more context from an outside perspective, unless its something i want to keep a mystery of course.

anything written/said in AMA answers and other things like that by me as the author will be in this color of text. anything by Wesley will be in blue text, anything by Ari will be in yellow text, anything by background characters will be in purple text.

i categorize different sections of specifically Wesleys life in "Eras". at the moment, Era 1, Era 2, and Era 3, starting when Wesley first moves to America. anything before that is BE1, "Before Era 1", and anything after Era 3 has been undecided yet, since im not exactly that far into the complete story yet.

I have no intention of this story ever being anything too too serious. this blog is really just for my own enjoyment and for sharing my characters backstory with my friends and mutuals.
