I love how in book 4, as we get to the second half of the book, the conflict comes from the fact that they have no idea how long they'll be stuck there. It's the source of Ryan's breakdown, most obviously, but they also bring it up in the bathroom of the party car, and in the art gallery car. Like, yeah, I'd be worried about my exit if I was stuck on that train, too, and being stuck on the train is a major fear that follows all of the characters (yes even grace & simon. maybe not hazel, though). But it hits hard with Min and Ryan because being on the verge of adulthood is such a long process. It's so long and it's so focused on what's coming up, that you don't know what the hell to do with yourself, and you don't know how long you'll be in that limbo. (one of the reasons the train is flawed but i digress)

Much like Min and Ryan's lack of progress on their number, which keeps coming back to 202, it's hard to see any growth in yourself when you hit dead ends and have to start over. But eventually, that breakthrough does happen, and it wouldn't have been possible without the dead ends. It was Min who seemed to have this attitude as time went on: around the halfway point he was able to appreciate the silent progress they were making, even when it wasn't expressed in the number (he slid back in the art gallery car, but that was the docent's trick). Whereas Ryan was so focused on their lack of movement, that it drove him to that depressed, burnt out place at the end of the book. It all comes back to their shared problem--the inability to live in the present

6B help your fellow 4B women and do not put your money into the pink tax companies, none of them. We do not support misogynistic companies anymore.

Women need to come together and be a community of protection. We cannot let the men who are so brazenly saying things like 'your body MY choice' and 'you will never have power over a man' control us. We are in terrifying times. Men are going to come at us and try to exhaust us. We need to support each other and uplift each other.

Be sad. Grieve what we had. But now is the time for anger. Now is the time to protect the vulnerable people in our communities. Now is the time to protect ourselves. We will be stronger together. We have to make it a movement and keep it alive.

It's a bog-themed concept album that's been gently dipped in the idea of jazz, and an accompanying murder (maybe!) mystery short story which was accidentally dropped in the jazz and has been soaking in it for several hours now.

Who is it for? 

Those who like their music genres ill-defined, enjoyers of bad puns on a somewhat niche subject, and ones who have a taste for silly stories with accompanying experimental music.

Why would you make this? 

I was compelled to, by no one in particular.

What about the frogs?

What frogs? I don't see any frogs. Stop asking about the frogs.

Why are you so defensive about the frogs?

I'm not defensive. There are no frogs in my vicinity, and I have not been writing an album while locked in a room with hundreds of them for several months.

ive seen people call it an error that min-gi and ryan both consider calling each other & then hesitate & walk away in the one twin tapes scene, bc ryan would remember min-gi's landline number but min-gi would have no idea where to reach ryan, but i think it's perfectly plausible to just see it as ryan considering calling him but then changing his mind, and min-gi automatically Wanting to call him in the emotional state he's in, but then remembering ryan isn't reachable anymore and stopping
