When the sparrow realizes he's perhaps misjudged snakes and decides to learn more about Shiratō, the two grow closer, first as friends and then as something more. They are predator and natural prey, coming from different species and social castes; can love overcome the laws of nature, despite the differences in their way? Kaori Sakamoto is currently in first after the short program. Mako Yamashita is currently in second and Mone Chiba is currently in third.
I didn't think I'd read a manga that I didn't really enjoy, but this one did it. The artwork is so great, but my problem was with the main character. Namely, Miyano. I'm sorry, I just don't get why Sasaki likes him. He's cute? Okay... but Miyano's not very nice to him, so...? Miyano just seems so indifferent to Sasaki that the whole thing felt one-sided the entire time. I'm glad I tried it out, and I'm usually happy for a slow-burn, but this "romance" felt more non-existent than slow. Just not my cup of tea.
Given Vol. 2 by Natsuki Kizu
⭐⭐⭐⭐.25
I actually think I preferred Satou's first relationship 😂 Kinda bummed it's not about them, honestly. I love that trope of the popular mischievous or stoic guy that is a total obsessed softie for one person, and that is exactly who Satou's first boyfriend was, and I really loved that couple. So.
Yeah. Still love Uenoyama, but yeah, loved the first guy more, I think.
I Hear the Sunspot Vol. 1 by Yuki Fumino
⭐⭐⭐⭐
I loved this as much as I loved the movie. I do wish we got a little more "bl" in this bl story, and I'm very thankful Kohei cuts his hair at the end, but knowing it was just the first in the series got me really excited to reading the rest.
I Hear the Sunspot: Theory of Happiness by Yuki Fumino
⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
So, so cute. I absolutely loved this as a follow-up. I do, again, wish we'd gotten to see the two together a little more as they spent a lot of the story apart, but I do feel that it flowed very well and I did enjoy the pining, so all around a very good time. I can't wait to read the rest.
I Think I Turned My Childhood Friend Into a Girl Vol. 1 by Azusa Banjo
⭐⭐⭐⭐
This one was. Weird 😂
And not because the guy dresses as a girl either, but because it all happened so fast. Dude does his makeup, two pages later, he shows up in a girl's uniform, and then... says that it's because it's who he is, but also says that he did it to get Mido's attention? Don't get me wrong, it was super enjoyable, amusing, and I just love how kind and welcoming everybody is, but I just spent the whole book kind of laughing to myself and going, "WHAT IS GOING ON? WHAT IS HAPPENING?" 😂
It's very amusing, soft, sweet, and I don't know what the guy's pronouns are because he and other characters flipflop between them so much, so I'm thinking he's just very genderfluid. But he looks great in all the outfits, the drawings are very cute, and I really just had a fun time. Will happily read the sequels.
Elsa Babe-165CM RHC019 Sasaki Azusa-Recalling Jiangnan
In this cold winter, it is inevitable that people miss the scorching sun of summer.
Last summer, I visited Jiangnan. The water towns of Jiangnan have beautiful mountains, beautiful water, and even more beautiful people.
A woman wearing a light green cheongsam leaned gently on the railing of the corridor, looking at the water outside the corridor, probably observing the koi in the lake.
The summer wind is so warm that it can't dissipate the heat and can easily make people sleepy. Because the corridor is close to the water, it can't be called hot. What's left is just comfortable.
The breeze was blowing on her face and her hair was flying. She looked like an ink painting just sitting there. I wonder what the scene would look like if other interesting actions were added.
I stood on the small bridge connecting the corridors on both sides and silently admired this beautiful scenery, entering into a reverie...
The cold wind outside the window ended my memories of Jiangnan. Alas~ I just wonder if I can find that touch of green next time I go to Jiangnan?
