Aziraphale says "our car" with all the certainty of someone telling his husband that they married with community property, therefore, what is yours is mine, and what is mine is yours: our bookstore, our car. Obviously. Of course, community property is only valid when the property was acquired by either during the marriage period, not before. Which only proves that Crowley and Aziraphale have been married since before they acquired the bookstore and the car. Inefabble husbands😈+😇=❤️

Hello! I have an Announcement!

I am excited to say that I will be launching a 10 part series of "ask games" all about Good Omens and the fandom. I thought it'd be a fun way to open a discussion, and get to know fellow fans a bit better!

Starting this Friday, and continuing every Friday for the length of the series, I'll be posting a new set of questions at 3PM EST/ 8PM GMT. These are not tagging games! My hope is to have a low-stakes, stress-free environment for our discussions. I encourage everyone to join in and share your thoughts!

To keep our space organized and respectful of everyone's preferences, I have just one request: please tag any of your response posts with good omens ask series. This way, those who prefer not to see these posts can easily filter them out, and it also helps us all discover each other's answers!

aka "Ineffable Omens," a not-real precursor to "Good Omens"! (updated)

Here's the earlier variant with "Unerfindlich Omen," or "Ineffable Omen" (just one!), based on the translation for "ineffable" in the German version of "Good Omens," or so I saw.

This post was inspired by Michael Sheen being what I call a "Peter Lorre actor" - able to put every thing he needs to say into his eyes and face. (David Tennant can too, I was just fixated on Michael.)

It's almost time- AO3 Wrapup 2023!

Last year I did this snazzy video with all my stats and music and awesomeness.  This year. . . I’m here. 

Here, let’s remember 2022 briefly.

Not too shabby. AO3 doesn’t account for the hours of podfic recorded, but that was roughly 27 podfics, for a total of 489 Minutes. 

And now 2023!

Significantly fewer of everything. What can I say- I’ve been busy.  But as for podfic, I’ve recorded 33 pods, with 402 minutes. I fell back in adoration of David Tennant, and 2003 me and 2023 me are like that Spiderman meme, only we are both older and crankier.

  so this is what, 13 years of absolute chaos? (and 60 podfics, for a total of 891 minutes which is *checks notes* 14.85 Hours of recorded podfic! WHOOO!) Here is to 13 more!

But!

For 2023, I have two large podfics to finish, one Good Omens by @phenobarbitalfiction that I'm a little obsessed with, and of course Emieo's Spice, and it's 80 bajillion words. BUT PROGRESS IS BEING MADE.

I have three fics planned out (Broadchurch, GO, and Trek) and am running a bingo challenge for the KiScon peeps, so I am hoping the mojo will sort of spring back into existence.

Good Omens fic masterlist

A long long time ago (at least longer than this Tumblr has existed) I used to write Good Omens fic, and now that S2 is getting closer every day, here are all my GO fics in one place! they are all Aziraphale/Crowley and all their titles are from Queen songs.

Crowley remains rather proud of Instagram. On an average day it rustles up at least two sins - usually Pride and Envy - and on a good day it can hit all seven. He’d been angling for a commendation for it, but Hell typically backdates commendations by decades, centuries even, and now it seems unlikely he will ever get his. Not that it matters.

Having prodded Instagram into being, he left it to fester in the Petri dish of humanity, as he does most of his projects. And as his projects are wont to do, it is now coming back to bite him, like the M25 and automated checkouts sensitive to unexpected items in the bagging area. 

Aziraphale's bookshop becomes accidentally famous on Instagram, to his great distress. Since Crowley invented Instagram, it's also his problem.

till one day they call your name (6.5k, Adam/Warlock, Aziraphale/Crowley)

“What happened to the one that you did raise, then?” Adam asked. “Instead of me?”

“Blessed if we know,” said Crowley. “Made a hash out of that one, we did. Probably up to his ears in therapy now.”

“Oh, I rather think we did all right,” put in Aziraphale soothingly. “I daresay we were rather good at being godparents.”

“You tried to kill me,” Adam pointed out. “Literally the first thing you did when we met.”

Nine years after almost causing the end of the world, Adam is working backstage in university theatre when he meets a high-strung, melodramatic, manipulative American director who happens to share his birthday.

In which Wensleydale and Pepper grow up and join MI6 so they can continue saving the world. One becomes the youngest Quartermaster in history. The other shoots James Bond.

I've been thinking about this scene since I first watched Season 2 because I just couldn't figure out why Crowley didn't raise his hand right away.

My initial impression was that he just wasn't paying attention in a typical Demonic 'I'm too cool for this' kind of way. But I think that I've finally figured it out now.

(And if this was painfully obvious to everyone else then please forgive me for only just now realising.)

Crowley had already agreed to do the trick in the magic shop, and he also knew how dangerous it was as well. You'd think that he'd be ready for when his time came, right?

But we also know that Crowley has never actually fired a gun before, and here he is in a room surrounded by people who have. I wonder if he felt that the humans around him were better off for the job and that he hoped Aziraphale would pick one of them instead.

And if the trick had gone wrong and Aziraphale did end up discorporated, at least Crowley wouldn't have been the one to have shot him.

I mean, we can really see in the shot below just how much he really didn't want to be up on that stage and pointing a gun at his best friends face.

So I think his hesitance in raising his hand was because he actually didn't want to do the trick. He was doubtful that it could work, but Aziraphale never doubted him for a moment. He trusted Crowley, and I wonder if when he mouthed:

If he was telling Crowley to trust him because he trusts Crowley? And, ultimately, that was why the trick ended up working even without the use of their miracles, because they trusted in each other.
