The Emergence Of Australia Podcasting In Business Landscape
Podcasting has witnessed tremendous growth over the past few years in Australia. According to recent surveys, one in three Australians now listen to podcasts on a regular basis. This reflects a massive increase from just 10% regular listeners in 2015. The popularity of podcasts has surged among both personal and professional users. More and more Australian businesses are realizing the potential of podcasts to connect with customers and promote their brands.
Rise Of Podcasts For Business
Several Australian companies in Australia Podcasting have started producing business podcasts focused on skills, thought leadership and networking. These podcasts help businesses share expertise, spark new ideas and enable two-way interactions with other professionals. Some examples include 'StartUpMuster' by StartupAus, 'Women in Business' by Westpac, and 'HQ Masters' by Hays recruiting agency. Such podcasts open new channels for businesses to authentically engage target audiences and position themselves as leaders. The business podcast genre is growing steadily and bringing more opportunities for brands.
Podcasting For Lead Generation
Many businesses have found podcasts to be an effective lead generation tool. Podcasts allow promoting products/services to a qualified listener base in an entertaining format. Listeners who enjoy the content are highly likely to engage further with the hosting brand. Business podcasts can include calls-to-action asking listeners to sign up for email lists, download resources or schedule consultations. Podcast advertisements and sponsored segments also provide revenue opportunities for hosts. With strong messaging and promotion, podcasts can drive measurable leads and sales for B2B as well as B2C companies.
Using Podcasts For Employee Communications
Some forward-thinking businesses like Atlassian and Canva have started internal podcasts for updating and engaging employees across locations. These 'all-hands' podcasts keep staff informed about company updates, strategy discussions and cultural initiatives—without needing physical gatherings. They showcase role models through interviews and spread inspirational messages. Podcasts personalize the employee experience, foster bonding over shared interests and boost workplace collaboration. With remote and flexible work gaining prominence, internal podcasts effectively maintain connections within distributed workforces.
Platforms And Technology For Australia Podcasting
While iPod/iPhone paved the way initially, podcast platforms have diversified today. Popular options for creating, hosting and distributing podcasts are Anchor, Buzzsprout, Captivate, SoundCloud, YouTube and dedicated podcast apps. Audio editing software like Adobe Audition and GarageBand enable easy production. Business podcasts can leverage analytics from platforms to track stats like downloads, locations and engagement. They provide monetization support through sponsorships, paid subscriptions and tip jars. Technologies like artificial intelligence are enhancing podcast experiences through smart transcriptions, translations and personalized recommendations.
Podcasting Challenges And Growth Drivers
The main challenge for podcasting adoption in businesses remains the time commitment required for consistent, high-quality content production. However, factors like growing listenership demographics, proliferation of connected devices, 5G networks and VR/AR applications will continue fueling the rise of podcasting. As more sectors recognize its diverse applications, demand for specialized podcast services and third-party content creation is bound to increase. With proper strategic focus and investment, podcasting holds immense untapped potential to power business communications and bolster brands across Australia podcasting in the coming years.

I saw this post about Damian becoming a prosecutor and Harvey is so proud of him for it.
Thoughts?
DUUUDE I love that a lot, but also:
Damian becoming Gotham’s Steve Irwin. That boy would OBSESS.
Catch his mute footsteps slithering along the mansion’s hissing floorboards, with his mother’s infamous agility, sneaking into the cinema to watch documentaries at 6 AM.
Two-Face having multiple heart attacks when he catches their tiny demon glued to the TV.
“Why aren’t you in bed right now?”
“ Why can’t you talk to aligators?”
Bruce knows Damian does this, but he’d absolutely gaslight Harvey into thinking their little terror sleeps all night. He’s not at all going into the sewage system to leave treats for the critters.
Also; Harvey as the father whom VEHEMENTLY forbids Damian from bringing wild animals into their home. A dog? Fine. A cow? Better than a spider. A goddam dragon? Sure, why not.
“You get that damn rat OUT of my house RIGHT now, kid!”
“This is my BABA’S HOUSE, you vile, fatulous, sanctimonious scumbag!”
He gets his youngest sibling rights revoked. They’re given to Jason for a whole week. It’s simultaneously hilarious and terrible and it’s Harvey’s revenge against Bruce for sure.
#dc#dc comics#batman#batfamily#damian wayne#I also imagine Damian listening to podcasts and buying merch and trying to imitate an Australian accent#jon thinks it’s so funny until all of a sudden they’re in an Amazonian jungle looking for boa snakes#but hey gotta keep the ole girl happy#bruce wayne#harvey dent#text#Jason can and will help Damian bring a goddam anaconda home literally just to spite Bruce

The Revitalization League of Extinct Sports
Documentation!
Every culture and civilization creates mountains of records of all kinds, though sadly the ones that have the highest chance of surviving beyond the ages are also prone to retain the least amount of complete information.
Wear and tear of physical mediums is unavoidable, no matter the precautions and measures taken. Thus there are countless organizations and individuals dedicated to finding, preserving and restoring information that has been lost to time.
One such group aims to recover the lost art of athletics, physical competitions, and exercises of pure strength and speed. The results have been...
mixed.
Their primary sources of "inspiration" have been ancient print media depicting the lives of a subgroup of Humans called 'Alpha Males', though DNA analysis has yet to identify a consistent genetic code to substantiate their actual existence. Nevertheless, there are quite a few depictions from a limited spectrum of Human history of these Alphas engaged in a variety of dangerous activities.
Some speculate that it was a mutation that had a predisposition towards recklessness and so if these Alphas truly were a Human sub-variant at some point, their nature made them extinct within just the span of a few generations. However, their exploits have survived to this day and age, and the Revitalization League of Extinct Sports has replicated these, within reason, of course.
This particular display of strength and endurance, has been named "Naked and Ferocious". The goal of this activity, we speculate, was to showcase ones individual prowess against a seemingly inferior opponent of another species, but who had numbers on their side.
Events often seen in nature, where the goal is survival, are sometimes reintroduced by a society where such conflict has been eliminated to maintain some connection with their origins, to never forget the cruel reality that awaits should civilization collapse, or most commonly a simple showcase of strength for personal ego reasons.
The League, naturally, cannot offer one to fight actual living creatures, that would simply be too chaotic and dangerous for everyone involved. Plus laws exist, but only because to some the obvious problems are, apparently, not obvious. What they offer instead are robotic replicas, as lifelike as the real deal, but programmed to either not cause any harm, or if the participant signs a warrant, limited harm.
It's... quite popular among some crowds. Of Humans mostly. It can be a little, actually, a lot off-putting to see a bare chested Human crush a mechanical creature MADE OF METAL that kinda resembles some members of the Galactic Coalition.
Humans are incredibly terrifying, no matter what they do or if they even have access to their literal planet destroying machines or just their own bodies.
The creativity of destruction knows no bounds.
#humans are space orcs#humans are space australians#humans are space oddities#humans are deathworlders#humanity fuck yeah#carionto#i heard a podcast mention these Mens Life covers and had to look them up#say what you will about the culture of the time but these artists knew how to draw burly shirtless men fighting small animals

something something the way valentino wanted to destroy gibernau that bad. like for a while there sete did live rent free in his mind I guess. I do realize that vale was using the whole situation to like you said motivate himself but still!
jerez last lap when valentino makes that mistake and runs wide and lets sete through... is it possible to more visibly panic when riding a motorcycle. like valentino just freaks at the idea that he might be letting sete win, immediately gets super shaky as he hops on sete's rear tyre. his own front tyre off the ground right before he sends it on sete's inside in a move that - let's be honest - just wasn't gonna do it. once sete re-overtakes, valentino really only has a few seconds to make his choice, and in the end he decides he'd rather take them both out than let sete beat them. like?? I think when people discuss parallels between vale and a certain other rider, it's always important to remember that valentino isn't really that aggressive on a normal day... he's also really not particularly reckless, like that's why he has a reputation for being an aggressive rider but still in his prime/late prime (basically pre-2011) he also had a super low crash rate. what valentino is all about his calculated aggression, he's very deliberate with what he thinks he can get away with - and when he noticeably escalates the aggression in a way that is also pretty risky for him, it usually tells you something special is going on. the other obvious example is laguna '08, but that was the epitome of calculated aggression: he knew exactly what he was going to do because he decided he had to send casey a message
this last corner move isn't a message. this isn't calculated. it had been job done, lead taken three laps before the end, very cool and calm and clever, but then valentino slips up. and he cannot let sete win. he can't! what does he do if he can't find the inside line, just barrel into sete? like, it's not that the move is even that egregious (I mean it kinda is but also we're all a bit desensitised these days, 2013 was obviously even sillier) and, yes, sete was just plain unlucky to get injured from that contact. but the thing is, if that move ends up being even riskier, if valentino is in an even worse position, valentino fully sends it anyway. like he was always going to send it in that corner. of course he was
it's kinda... it's so revealing, what you get when you really get his back against the wall. what he did in 2004 when he was truly under pressure in the championship picture basically for the first time, how he still went for sete's throat last lap of phillip island... genuinely that's a situation where basically every other rider settles for second because you have a championship to wrap up, except maybe marc and honestly in that specific situation even he might have left it to just the one last lap mov- actually you know what never mind, okay maybe two riders who would've gone for it in that situation. and in basically every other situation against any other rival, valentino doesn't go for it either. phillip island 2009 isn't a matchpoint race and valentino probably didn't have anything for casey that day anyway, but he could've pushed it a bit harder and maybe at least tried to show a front wheel here or there. and that's arguably a less precarious championship situation than phillip island was. but he wouldn't get that kind of head loss over casey! he wouldn't get that kind of head loss over jorge either! but however much he enjoys winning, however much he enjoys, uh, not crashing, all of that can actually go out of the window when he faces someone who he NEEDS to beat
I really stand by this tbh:
like ffs, it's such massive head loss to go on national television and promise your rival who was nominally still your friend 24 hours ago is never going to win another race in his life. we kinda roll with it now because he managed to pull it off but he shouldn't have. this should have been CRAZY hubris from this mfer but now it's like 'wow he really did break that guy'. I know this may be controversial, but I still reckon it is the biggest case of genuine head loss in his entire career - mainly because it's such a spontaneous reaction and had this heat-of-the-moment insanity. makes me furious that this worked. sete got five pole positions in 2005!! FIVE! it's not like he suddenly got slow overnight! he didn't win ANY of them!! sick sick stuff
yeah, valentino motivated himself through sete... but it is kinda crazy, to what extent that motivational process outlived sete being a competitive threat. what's really fun to me about this rivalry is that... you know, nowadays that kind of friendship would be way harder to just erase. we'd have all this footage to go back to, so many more little hints and bits of interviews to work with, probably some instagram posts from ibiza, to have as a record of what that relationship once was. but with them? they were title rivals and they were friends - and they weren't talking about their friendship in interviews before it all fell apart. so now it's just sort of... gone. they went on holidays together, even when they were title rivals - and the best evidence we have for that are the commentators talking about it at brno 2003. we have no clue why they got on in the first place, we don't know how they managed that friendship as title rivals before the disaster. it's still one of the most striking things about the whole thing to me... because it's just a bit further back in the past, valentino really could make the friendship vanish at the time of his choosing. the way you can really tell that sete got to him is how there's basically no sign left of their friendship. valentino erased sete from his autobiography and he's erased him from the story of his whole career more often than not. and that's how you know sete really got into valentino's head... through the weight of valentino's cold indifference
#downloading the shitty youtube video because god forbid d**** lets me embed a youtube video they didn't even upload#it's getting you like four extra eyeballs on this video you tits. it's from 2005 what are you possibly getting out of this#//#brr brr#batsplat responds#like they were friends!! they were friendsssss for yearsssss#sete was one of the first guys who gave him advice when he entered the premier class.... he was looking out for that kid....#sorry not to bang on about that australian podcaster but MAN was that a waste#like if you gave me three hours with sete I would fully make him crack. I'd get it all out of him. send me IN chief I'm READY#curse tag

In Reynella, a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, detectives were investigating the mysterious disappearance of an elderly woman. She hadn’t been seen for a couple of days, and alarm bells rang when there was an attempt to access her bank account. Over the past decade, podcasting has seen monumental growth in Australia. While the concept of on-demand audio has been around since the early 2000s, it wasn’t until around 2015 that podcasting truly began taking off amongst Australian audiences. A variety of factors have contributed to podcasting’s increased popularity in recent years.

Just about to listen to the taskmaster podcast and noticed this in the description.
I think I made a post a while ago wondering whether since tm nz was available in the uk Ed would start covering it, so I'm happy he is now, plus a perfect reason to rewatch it
#maybe we'll get the Australian one covered too at some point#even if just because it might get more people here to watch a talk about it#taskmaster#taskmaster podcast#taskmaster nz

okay okay okay, thinking thoughts
So I find the concept of Names really interesting in Camlann, reading into the extracanonical stuff put on the tumblr is giving me food for theory crafting. The Catacylsm seems to be some kind of return of magic to the world (possibly heralded by the return of The King of the Britons in their hour of need?) and thus people with significant Names have access to something because of it. they fall into the stories of their namesakes; Perry, Gwaine, and Kay are Knights, Morgan is Morgana Le Fay, and we now have a Gwen in Shújūn.
Based on Kay's dicussion with Perry if more people can fill in the roles of their stories to more 'to plan' the stories will go, Of course this is not good news if you know the general end point of Arthurian legend (Betrayal, muderer, war, most everyone dead, the 'Glory' of camelot gone). It's inherently kind of a doomsday cult if you stay in those stories, you know where parts of this are going (i'll get back to this)
it also seems like there may be some, for lack of a better term, kin drama going on. There are 900 members of the court and Kay mentions that Peredur is a really uncommon name outside of Wales, meaning there are certain knights who are more common, i assume Lancelot's, Kay's, maybe a few Talisin's, a bunch of Gareth's, and like 50 Elaines like in the legends lol
We also dont have the context for how Names work full yet and neither do our characters. I think theres a lot of answers to be had with Shújūn/Gwen with how it works, how you know other than the buzzing in you're head and desire go through the motions and Follow the Story
Now, where does Dai fit in all this?
Dai doesn't have a Name, and I think theres going to be a point where he changes his name in a major way, but not to a Name, but a Bardic name. In welsh poetic and story telling tradtions Welsh poets, THE OG Bards, will take on pseudonyms tell their stories. This practice stems from the medievil era, but goes forth to today, and many modern Welsh and welsh heritage poets have connections to this tradition (Dylan Thomas' middle name was his great uncles bardic name, Sarah Williams published her work under the name Sadie), I believe it's also a requirement to have one if you intend to perform in the major Eisteddfod, (I am Australian so my experiance of Eisteddfods here is very different so if i'm wrong on that let me know)
Why would he do this? I think Dai is going to, at least try, to write him and his friends a way out.
Much ink is spilt over how Arthurian legend doesnt have an 'orginal text', and as such there are lots of stories that are inherently contradictory; Bedwyr is the best knight, but so are Gwaine, Lancelot, and Galahad. Mordred is some random king until his Arthur's son. Arthur has a sister, no he has two, actually he has three and one of them is an Elaine. This could be used to explain any doubles (are you my Gwaine), as well as why we see a few different spelling varients which are, the very welsh Peredur as opposed to Percival or Parzifal, the anglisised and more boarish Kay as opposed to Cei or Caius (this last one might just to keep Dai and Kay distinct tho). These variations are no more or less 'canon' than any other telling of the story, and so often the writer of a given telling of Arthurian legend is going to have their own bias. But things dont HAVE to end the way they always do, and sometime you need to have someone outside the story you're caught in to tell you a new one.
You are not locked into that ever looming cloud of Thomas Mallory and Le Morte d'Arthur.
Other evidence I have for this is that Dai sings at the begining of each episode, and sings in welsh at that. He also is, to a point our narrator, existing both in and out of the current narative. Also his name is an a lyric of Sosban Fach (a song i would be surprised if it wasn't in the show at some point) 'Dai bach y sowldiwr' which is also not from the text the song was based on. Tangential yes, but i think it's worth thinking about.
I think there is also something to be said about choice in what your name is and how it feeds into the overall theme of identiy, and how that plays into other themes at play in the story, like Transness, Imperialism, and Predestination
TL:DR; While he doesnt have a Name, Dai's gonna give himself an epic bard name and save them all by writing a killer hook to get them out of the story
#if i've gotten details wrong wrt welsh culture im sorry i am australian and a lot of my engagement in my welsh heritage is me doing research#theres only 3 eps out i listend to them an hour ago and im writing this kind of tinfoil i'm so proud of myself lol#this is so rambly im sorry but if people want to use any of this to build ideas off of pls go ahead#camlann#camlann pod#camlann podcast#camlannpodcast#many thoughts; so big so made of foil#if i am right about the kin drama idea i'll be so happy#all the garaths fighting over kitchen duty is very funny to me in specific
