I love the decision to match Meng Yao's clothing exactly to the colour scheme of the Cloud Recesses buildings in ep4:

Like, look at that! Meng Yao quite literally blending into the background - as if perfectly camouflaged, image perfectly chosen to suit his current setting… or as if he belongs there, as if he fits in perfectly to this specific place.

And then there's Lan Xichen in his customary blue, accented with white, matching the shades of the tassels and hangings. He, too, looks perfectly placed in this setting, as if he is a natural extension or an integral part of it - as of course he is; this is after all his home - but rather than blending seamlessly with the background he is part of the tasteful ornamentation that draws the eye, beautiful and noticeable though without being ostentatious.

And so when you put them together they make for a visually perfect pair in this setting. As if they belong here together, complementing one another as they complete the picture; one aligned with the unobtrusive but crucial structure and one with the restrained but lovely ornamentation, in perfect balance.

To paraphrase the title of one of the songs from the soundtrack... if only life could have been like that first meeting.

Posting this because i just KNOW the musicians behind it have made Contact.

Because how else could you explain them perfectly nailing the intro, buildup, and fight music for one of the game's best bosses while remaining tense, gritty, yet utterly distinct from any other song in the game????

The raw emotion captured here is fucking palpable.

I still don't think any Ace Attorney soundtrack has topped Apollo Justice's for me. That sound track does so much to elevate the atmosphere of the game man.

where did you find assad's playlist for armand? i remember watching an interview of him he wouldn't even name one song/artist 'cause he thought it was embarrassing. did he make it public since?

i found it on this post!!!!! (linked to my reblog so i don't lose it) like i mentioned in the comments of my OG post about the playlist he hasn't taken it down yet + one of his leaked song choices is on there so we're all assuming it's the official account (not to invade his privacy or anything but if you click on the account itself and scroll through to look at some of the other playlists he's kept public it does seem like his personal account. which would track with him originally keeping the s2 playlist private)—the first songs on there were added in May though so it's entirely possible he made a new playlist with some of the songs sans the 'embarrassing' ones. either way it's Armand soundtrack material and i've been lying facedown on the floor about it since i added it to my library

Ahahaha, YESSSS! :D Pathologic is one of those things that my mind has on the backburner at all times - getting into it during the first wave of the pandemic lockdowns just after I got my bachelor's degree and started master's program might have done something permanent to my brain chemistry, hAH (and then I read the Young Doctor's Notebook and I was ultimately screwed)

I actually haven't drawn Artemy outside some silly doodles that never saw the light of day. I'm a shameless Daniil enjoyer, love putting that funky little man through the Horrors (Marble Nest my beloved). So I thought I'd give it a try! Local man too tired but hair still fluffy! (because he doesn't have time to brush it, there are 5 infants in his inventory and he traded the hairbrush for 3 marbles and a piece of chalk)

CAVERNS OF TIME

The Caverns of Time are home to Nozdormu and the bronze dragonflight. It is their sacred mission to guard the caverns against the intrusion of mortals. The Caverns contain various portals to different key historical periods and events. They act as a crossroads for the various timeways, and through them one can travel back and forth along the ebb and flow of time.

My thoughts on Baba is You.

I think this title should stand next to Stephen's Sausage Roll by how they've both shaken the puzzle game genre in their own unique ways.

While TSP and TBG are known as meta commentary on the games, Baba Is You does so through the basic mechanic of the game. I haven't seen many puzzle game titles before it that would make the rules so breakable yet still so logical. You can't make contradicting statements or imaginery rules but you're given such an arsenal of choices to make and try out, I don't think it's a problem for anyone.

And unlike many other titles here, you're supposed to both learn and forget your experience. Every world is based on a new mechanic that gets introduced but the way you perceive it is supposed to constantly change.

Baba is You but You aren't Baba most of the time. Yet still, Baba is within you one way or another.
