QubicGames 20th Anniversary Review Cons: - None of the games have any real graphics settings to speak of. - Cannot remap controls in the games. - Obviously due to their history, they do feel like mobile phone games blown up to a big screen. - All the games are seperate downloads and don't have an overall housing or ui for the games. - None of the games come with DLC. - A few of the games have performance issues and it's mostly slowdown when a lot is happening. - No game has online multiple interactions. - Across the board, the music is not great. - When using Steam big picture mode none of the game achievements popped up when earned. - Games like Sausage Wars not only don't offer any tutorials but it also doesn't let you view the controls. - Infantry attack has terrible screen tearing and performance issues. - The Nom is a harder title to play as the tentacle alien movement is hard to judge especially when trying to eat humans. - Cannot ever rename your characters in game so you are always called a player. - Golf Guys controls take a lot of getting used to as it has hooks and serves built into the power meter and doing precise shots is hard. - Mob control has a lot of stuttering when playing. - Paper io 2 is the worst offender for not having a tutorial so you have no clue what's going on. DRIPPIN “Villain”

If you intend to make a smooth track like this the groove is very important, here the groove is rather polished and muted, so it’s not very exiting to listen to. AB6IX has been releasing music nonstop, most of it boring stuff like this.

ASTRO Jinjin & Rocky “Just Breath”

Same criticism about the groove I gave DRIPPIN applies here but at least the boys don’t take themselves so serious and the whole thing is more fun. VICTON’s “Chronograph” also does the groovy thing but they all lack catchiness.

Yuju “Play”

This marks Yuju’s solo debut and the concept is completely different from anything she’s done while in G-Friend. Did she always sound so nasal? The song is fine, I like the instrumental but wish the chorus was stronger. Same for Bambam’s “Slow Mo’”.

Controlled Death - Death Entries 1 LP (Holy Terror) more from this project.  it all sounds pretty much the same, which is to say, it’s all outstanding.

Scum - Filth Attack 7″ lathe (Deathbed Tapes) glad to see this reissued.  this newer japanese noise project in a totally insane noisecore mode.  great stuff but the cut sounds like shit (to be expected).

The Rita - Living Dead Girl CD (Amethyst Sunset) absolutely essential reissue of this the rita tape from 1998.  pre-HNW style, no tedious crackle study, just pure 90s north american harsh noise exhibiting every ounce of talent which later inspired a new subgenre of noise.

Mazzy Star - Ghost Highway CD bootleg of two live performances from 94.  r.i.p. david robeck & r.i.p. keith mitchell :(

T.E.F. - Retrospektiv1 25 CDr (Fantasy 1) like it says, collection of material from 95 til today.  def some interesting stuff here; more varied than other releases.  some tracks even have some momentary beats while others sound like some of the heaviest ant-zen or hands prod. acts (the heavy rhythms stuff like sonar or eisengrau, not dist.beat stylee).  really a great release and def recommended. 

Scum - Feelings of Hate C-20 (angst) new japanese noise with a pretty wide range of sounds and styles.  not as good as the lathe, but a good listen.

Hive - Demiurge 2xC-90 (skeleton dust) a really really great release of mid-90s american harsh noise.  no legendary status or fabled name needed; this is just solid material and varied enough to be able to listen to all 180 minutes in one sitting without getting bored.  pairs well with the T.E.F. and the rita.  all three are highly recommended.

V/A - Someone Wake the Maid It’s Time To Kill the Butcher C-50 (dada drumming) interesting comp where one side is mostly Hiroshi Hasagawa (C.C.C.C./Astro) under various names, so obviously it’s a good one to pick up if you’re interested in his work.  rounded out with Worth (!!), Scathing (def look into this newer Texas-based project if you like harsh cut-up style like T.E.F.), Richard Ramirez, A Fail Association and a welcomely weird one from MO*TE.  each project has a full 8.5″x11″ page of artwork.  one of the best comp titles in a while.  you basically can’t go wrong with a dada drumming release.

The Cherry Point - Misery Guts CD (Phage Tapes) another reissue which somehow snuck by me.  one of my fave projects from the 20-aughts (which is one of my least-fave expressions), but if you’re new to the project, i’d recommend The Night of the Bloody Tapes CD over this one. 

Zero Kama - s/t 3CD (infinite fog) it has everything.  80s esoteric/ritual industrial. what else really needs to be said. 

Sissy Spacek - Slow Move CD (Troniks) harsh noise with phil from the cherry point/lhd/troniks.  harsh noise.  no drums no core no bullshit.

Steve Rogers x Reader

A/N: Angst - this ran away from me.

Summary: You make Steve promise you something.

The rain fell onto your shoulders, entire body wet and cold as you stood out like a sore thumb – you didn’t even bother to do the proper research to disguise yourself. It didn’t matter, nothing did; you needed to find him. You could feel the eyes of several soldiers on you, most likely taking in the absurd uniform Charles Xavier made you and the rest of the X-Men wear. You were grateful then that you had been wearing the all black suit and not the yellow one.

Ignoring the stares, you kept walking until a man stopped you, asking if you were authorized to be there. You glanced at his name, Lt. Colonel Chester Phillips, and instantly remembered being told about him. He eyed your getup and you glared at him.

“Sir, if you don’t know who I am or why I am here you are obviously not important enough for me to be standing here discussing whether I have credentials or not.”

 It was his turn to stare, a long meaningful glance until he asked who you were there to see.

“I’m looking for Steve Rogers.”

He nodded then, pointing to a tent off to the right and you thanked him before turning toward the tent with a satisfied smile. Logan always said you had a good poker face, it had gotten you this far, and now you were going to see him again.

Making your way to the tent, you peeked in to discover that it was empty. Not one to give up, you walked back out and around, finding Steve sitting under the canopy, drawing. His back was to you and your heart pounded with each step until you cleared your throat.

He turned then, his eyes bluer than you had even seen him and your emotions betrayed you – he looked so innocent, unbroken unlike the man you had come to know and love.

“Steve.”

He gave you a once over and immediately became embarrassed, closing his notebook. He stood up and walked over to you, his eyes on yours.

“I’m sorry, ma’am, do I know you?”

“Not yet,” you confessed, trying desperately to keep it all down.  But alas, tears fell down your face, alarming the young man. He cleared his throat and asked if you were alright, clearly uncomfortable.

“I’m sorry, I’m here to do a job,” you apologized, giving him a faint smile. “I need you to remember something for me.”

Steve looked confused, but something inside his gut was telling him to take what you were about to say seriously. “Okay.”

You took a deep breath before approaching him, placing a hand on his shoulder as you leaned in to whisper in his ear. You told him then, that he wouldn’t be able to save Bucky. That it wasn’t his fault and he would see his friend again. You told him that Hydra would survive for decades and he was the one that needed to take them down. You told him one day there would be a time when he had to choose between saving the woman he loved and the rest of the world, and that he had to choose the world.

You pulled away from him, tears heavy in your eyes as your hand came up to his face. He stared at you, wildly, his pouty lips pursed into perfection.

“You have to follow everything I said, you have to.”

“I don’t understand.”

Holding his face steady in your hands, you smiled painfully before kissing him hard on the lips. He hesitated for a moment until he fell into the kiss, his hands on your waist; it felt raw, like the first time the two of you kissed under a tree in Central Park. Regretfully, you ended the embrace and opened your eyes.

Steve’s were still closed until they fluttered open and you smiled at him, hands still on his face.

“I have to go now,” you said, letting go of him. “Just promise me you’ll do what I asked, please.”

He nodded. “I will.”

Sighing, you touched his face once more before stepping back to get a good look at him. It was time to go, your friends would be waiting, the world would be waiting. Bringing a finger to your lips, you could still taste Steve and it felt nice.

“I’ll remember you this way, Steve Rogers.”

He opened his mouth to speak but before he could get a syllable out, you were gone.

Just gone.

Steve stood there alone, the rain pitter patting toward the ground as he tried to make sense of what just happened – his lips still warm from yours.

It was like his life had flashed before his eyes, making him feel nauseous with a burst of adrenaline at the same time.  His body shook as images of you came to, a new memory appearing that had never been. His eyes widen when he realized what you had warned him about this moment, that you had gone back in time to see him.

He stood there for a moment, stuck between two choices – run to help the others remove the glove from Thanos or turn the other direction to help you fight against Proxima Midnight and her alien warriors, who were surrounding you and Okoye. Fighting against the urge to help you, he remembered the promise he had made a long time ago.

He remembered how odd and beautiful you looked in, what he knew now was the X-Men’s suit, standing there with tears in your eyes. He remembered how he felt like he could trust you and how your words echoed in his mind when Bucky fell off the train, and when he saw him again, decades later.

You were his girl, and always would be.

But you were right, the world was more important.

His heart ached as your eyes met his, and you nodded to him – the two of you sharing a raw moment as Okoye yelled for you to help her. You mouthed that you loved him, and he returned the gesture before turning his back to you.

Tears fell down your face as you fought alongside Okoye, eyes trying to follow Steve’s movements until he was out of sight.

Taking a deep breath, you remembered how innocent and unbroken he looked back then under the tent canopy, and knew it was for the greater good. And as you stepped in front of Proxima’s powerful weapon to protect your friend – your last thought was of Steve and how handsome he looked in his Army uniform when his life was just starting, and the world hadn’t touched him with its tainted hand.

And as Okoye killed Proxima and the others, her knees falling to the ground as you laid there bleeding out, your breathing slowed down, and you smiled, remembering the last thing you had said to him under the sound and smell of the rain.

“I’ll remember you this way, Steve Rogers.”

The interview for Tasty Florida's part timer and the little heart-to-heart between Eun Kyu and Ji Soo (?) were nice, maybe it's mostly the main character Hae Won who's bringing down the show for me.

Movie (Mar 5 - , 2022)

The rest of the episodes are for Viki Standard but the movie is free on Viki, so I'm switching over to that instead

I don't care about the main character and don't feel any chemistry between the him and the love interest; I'm more curious to see Eun Kyu and Ji Soo interactions because they seem like such old friends

The stumbling drunk to my old apartment while being sad about my mother's dad and ending up in bed with the main character and mumbling sad thoughts about my mother situation is very contrived but cute enough that I liked it despite not enjoying the main couple thus far

Ji Soo is the most intriguing character to me thus far for sure, I hope he continues to appear throughout

everything between the main couple just seems awkward or stilted to me rather than cute or endearing

Okay, I think I misjudged lol Ji Soo probably didn't want Eun Kyu and Hae Won to get romantically closer but rather get platonically closer because he's interested in Hae Won himself :< I hope he doesn't become evil or something because he was my favourite

The passing of time in this drama is confusing to me. Has it been a day? a week? is it the same day/night in fact?

Watching BL is just me being like I want this dude's shirt and this man's sweater and this guy's pants (in this case, I want Eun Kyu's shirt at 1:19:00 with like different coloured sleeves and pocket)

this ending hug with the other three just watching is so freaking awkward !

Anyway, throughout most of this I thought the main couple weren't super cute and didn't really get why they like each but in the last 15 minutes, I'll admit there were cute (although I only understand a little bit why they like e/o)

Overall Thoughts: Was off to a bad start for me personally but I grew fonder over the run time. I'm craving noodles now; I've never had jajangmyeon but all the kpop idols eat it so deliciously and it looked good here too, I'd like to try it someday.

Not very memorable and I'm not super attached to any of the characters but I expected it to be fairly mediocre and it was. I was originally watching this for Korean practice but Viki didn't have Korean subs for this and the audio was too quiet for me at some places, so umm the practice that was supposed to happen did not. Oh well, it was a fine way to pass the way I guess.
