Writing for the Asterix fandom all started for me after reading a few fics, and then deciding to do a little two chapter fic about the aftermath of Asterix and the Actress (Back then I managed two chapters, wow). Where Asterix is having his pensive mood. I decided to make it about his memory loss and the fight he had with Obelix.

Anyway they arrive home to Idéfix/Dogmatix having puppies, and one of the female pups jumps on Asterix's lap and gnaws at his Asterix's helmet (my mom has a dog now, and I totally wrote that dog like a cat, I realise while I'm typing this, haha).

So Obelix jokingly decides to name her Bravura. To Asterix's absolute horror, the name sticks and I think that over a decade later he would still call it the worst thing I have ever done to him.

Rayman Head Canons: Voice Claims Part 4

Clark the Giant:

Clark was a character introduced in Rayman 2, I believe that was really the only time we saw him. In Rayman Retold, he was going to appear often. He's one of Rayman's best friends just like Globox is.

I could never get the idea of Clark being voiced by John DiMaggio out of my head. John is known for his roles as Bender the Robot in Futurama, King Zog in Disenchantment, Jake the dog in Adventure Time, Killer Croc from Batman Unlimited, Timandahaf from the English dub of Asterix and the vikings, and the Scotsman from Samurai Jack to name a few.

Andre:

The same black lum from Rayman 3 hoodlum Havoc. Andre is another I where I veer off from the original voice material for a fully voiced character.

The way I portray Andre is not as much of a villain, but more of just a general troublemaker. Similar to Raymesis. He's had to stay on the down low since he lost his main muscle. He causes trouble to the local lums and this includes Lumlight.

As much as I liked the original portrayal, there is a different voice actor that I think fits this little trouble maker a lot better. Alex Brightman.

Alex Brightman is a Broadway Actor well known for his role as the voice for Fizzarolli from Hellova Boss, Sir Pentious and Adam from Hazbin Hotel, but my personal favorites is his acting role as Beetlejuice.

Space Mama:

Some of you may have seen the stand alone post for this. That will be taken down shortly after this post launches.

Space Mama is one of the characters from Rayman 1 that will pop up over to Rayman's current homeland. She is a famous actress and will travel all over the world to give performances. After the events of Rayman 1, Rayman and Space Mama hold no ill will towards each other and have become good friends. Space Mama will even reserve special seats for him whenever she's alerted that he's coming to her show.

I have Natasia Demetriou for Space Mama's voice claim. She is known for roles such as Cala Maria in The Cuphead Show on Netflix, Sleep in Orion and the Dark, and Wingnut from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

Carmen the Whale:

Carmen was a character from Rayman 2 that, as far as I know, did not have any in game voice lines. Possibly due to her only having like one line in Rayman Revolution. I'm not sure if she had dialogue in the over versions of Rayman 2.

Carmen is one of Rayman's many mother/aunt figures in his life. She will watch over him and protect him whenever he's swimming or boating on the ocean. She will make sure the Limbless gets safe passage and will chase off any foes that seek to do him or his boat harm. She is a very protective, motherly force of nature.

I posted about the inspiration for her character a long time ago. This is also why I chose this for her voice claim. Roz Ryan.

Roz Ryan has done voice acting for characters like Cake from the Fiona and Cake series, Bubbie the whale from The Marvelous Adventures of Flapjack (which is her character inspiration), Witch Lezah from The Looney Tunes Show, and Thalia the muse of comedy from the Disney Hercules media.

Since I've used the original Bubbie video to death at this point, I've opted for a different one for this post that is also 100% accurate for Carmen the Whale.

. Mark Antony : A Hollywood movie star who often struggles with alcoholism ( like Richard Burton, for starters )

. Junia Secunda : A socialite with her own gossip column

. Manlia Torquatia ( Silanus' wife ) : Founder and CEO of an event planning enterprise

. Silanus : Stockbroker who co founds Manlia's event planning enterprise

. Lepidus : A litigator who is often a legal partner in crime of Caesar

. Brutus : One of Caesar's landlord head lackeys who later on got fired and sued after a similar events in Asterix and Son

. Claudia Vassilia ( Brutus' first wife ) : Art curator who later on divorced Brutus during Astrrix and Son in that AU. Took her kids with Brutus to Athens and later on becomes Chief Manager of National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens

. Porcia Catonis ( Brutus' 2nd wife ) : A Hollywood movie actress and model who later on got with Brutus.

. Volumnia Cytheris : A Mexican pop star ( think Thalia ) who is an ex girlfriend of Mark Antony and later Brutus ( in Asterix and Son ). Fled back to Mexico after knowing of Brutus' true intentions into trying to manipulate her into help try get rid of baby Caesarion in Asterix and Son

. Julia Aurelia : Caesar's oldest sister who lives in a retirement life in Nashville. An influential socialite with her own ladies column. Has 2 previous husbands in her lifetime, 2 sons and several grandkids at those points. Screams absolute wine aunt energy and often filled with juicy gossip.

. Fu Yi : A trading heiress all the way from Shanghai. Becomes a Columbia University student who later on asks for Asterix's help to help take down the murders of her CEO dad

. Irina : A younger cousin of Cleopatra VII from Philadelphia. Rather wide eyed at first, this supermodel and TV host soon got embroiled into a once secret affair with Lovesix, who was leader of a rock band from the Alpacchians

. Lovesix : See above

. Samagos : An old Harvard friend of Caesar and current CEO of the Philadelphia Rugby League, also father of Irina.

. Vitalstatistix and Impedimenta : Mayor and Mayoress of their Alpacchian town

. Geriatrix and Taillefine aka Mrs Geriatrix : Geriatrix is a US Air cadet veteran who somehow pulled Taillefine ( who was a former flight hostess ) and they moved into that town, where Geriatrix lives in retirement, as Taillefine conducts a tourist business of that town.

. Unhygienix and Bacteria : Running a fishing shop in that town

. Fulliautomatix and Begonia aka Mrs Fulliautomatix : Running a fix it shop in that town.

. Orinjade : A spice trade heiress from Mumbai who becomes an economics major in Columbia, and becomes a good friend of Fu Yi and Du Deng

. Du Deng : A landlord heir from Chengdu who also becomes a law/international relations major in Columbia. Becomes a good friend of Orinjade and boyfriend and later husband of Fu Yi.

That AU basically consists of a bunch of big city celebrities ( aka Caesaris gens ) found themselves often surrounded with DRAMA as well as often finding themselves encountering with Asterix and his town of hilly billies.

it’s genuinely incredible how set uderzo was on making this narrative that literally everyone in the village is extremely aware of how Not Married asterix (and obelix) are AND how Absolutely Not Interested In Women asterix is. i feel like every five seconds someone decides to mention how asterix doesnt have a wife and asterix ALWAYS responds with ‘lol i will literally never want a wife’ it’s just so funny

Chip And Dale Rescue Rangers Spoilers/Thoughts

As the title suggests, this contains major spoilers for the movie. Only proceed if you’ve either seen it or don’t care about being spoiled.

1. So the voices didn’t actually bother me. It helped, I think, that they started talking in the alternate voices pretty much straight away. Which I think helped separate it from ‘filming’. 

2. CGI surgery? Must admit, that’s an interesting point. Also makes sense with evolution. I’d assume there must just be CGI toons as well, created more recently.

3. Ugly Sonic!? I thought he was cool and I liked that they made him relevant to the plot instead of a one-off gag.

4. The muppet toons were done really well. You’re never shown their legs, makes it more real.

5. The whole stinky cheese thing...wow. Answers the question of if there’s drugs or not in Toon universe. The way Chip initially tried to charm his way in...yeah, he may have lost some of his acting skills doing that insurance gig.

6. The throw away line about the Nicktoons. ‘The toons fought back’. People have pointed out this is against character for the toons, but I think it makes sense, albeit it in a dark way. The rugrats at least must be in their 30′s by now. [Aired in early 90′s] Its surely not unreasonable to assume they must have changed their personalities, and we don’t know what  happened. Maybe they only ‘fought back’ with pies. As for the Paw patrol dogs, my theory is that either it’s an exaggeration. [Which I don’t think would be unlikely if it happened last year and he was signed off work afterwards] or that it did happen and due to the fact they’re toon dogs they can’t be put down. Either that or the Police department were so mortified about the fact they messed up so completely they let all charges drop.

7. Toons on the wall that I noticed/knew, Jiminy Cricket, Flounder, Gus [Cinderella], The Tweedles, Sneezy, Garfield [There’s also a sign above Garfield that says foghorn. I’m assuming this is a reference to the Looney Tunes character?] 

8. Toon body parts on the other side of the walls that I noticed. Jimmy Neutron’s hair, Cheshire Cats smile, Pink Panther mouth, a white glove that could belong to anyone [brings to mind Mickey Mouse, but I’m fairly sure it can’t be him], a smurfs hat, Sora’s hair + Mad Hatters hat. 

9. Ellie...I’m going to be honest she seems quite a bland character. Not much is given to her. [This might be because apparently test audiences reacted negatively to her. Considering they also apparently reacted negatively to the original idea of Pluto being the villain, which led to them choosing the below instead [presumably] I’m not sure they were right.]

Also I think credit needs to be given to the actress for the fight scene she was in. She must have been working with thin air, which must be very difficult.

10.Toons I saw at the end [and recognised] Abu, Fred Flintstone, Patrick Star, Woody Woodpecker, Phineas Flynn, Dipper, Jiminy Cricket, Flounder, Cheshire Cat [Crossed with the tiger from Aladdin], Johnny Test, Kai [Jungle Book], a toon that looks like Obelix from ‘Asterix’ [Same pattern pants and same hair, but black], Gus [with a parrots beak], Gumball? [Amazing world of], Bambi, Sneezy, Woody [same clothes, green instead], Frog Tiana, One that looks like a care bear, but with a tail? [Purple], 

11. Sweet Pete...now, I do know about Bobby Driscoll, but I must admit if I didn’t know the story [which I didn’t until it started making the rounds on Tumblr] I’d just think it was very clever. It’s clear toons do grow up mentally [and they must in some sort of chronological order as well seeing as the chipmunks start in 3rd grade] and as I’ve previously mentioned in another posts I think there’s other ways they could have gone with it if they were determined to have Peter Pan as the villain. 

His voice works as well, seeing as Chip and Dale have completely different voices. I’d assume that Disney made the EPIC FAIL conclusion that no one would know/care about what happened to Bobby Driscoll. It’s the only thing that makes sense. 

The bootlegged idea is interesting as well. It’s shame there wasn’t a team up between Chip and Dale and other family members of the other toons. [Sneezy, for instance, was bootlegged, so it would have been interesting to see the other dwarfs helping out.] The very least we see is that it’s a big story in the news. 

I also like the way Peter gets his henchmen to do EVERYTHING. Even when he’s about two centimetres away from Chip and Dale himself, he still tells Jimmy to grab them when he could have just reached out himself. 

He must have started the business before having his CGI operation, though, because in the parody ‘Flying Bedroom Boy’ you can see he has the stubble round his mouth. [Another good detail]

He’s also ‘The chessmaster’ I think. Look at his expression when Putty’s telling his story. He knows he’s lying but he’s just waiting for Ellie to realise that. 

If the whole thing didn’t parallel Bobby Driscoll so much it would have been a really clever take.

12. Finally, on a lighter note...we want Darkwing, we want Darkwing! Loved it, so in-character.

Musa's voice actress basically voices Sofia Carson and Sabrina Carpenter but is also Bridget from Total Drama, Clawdeen Wolf, Operetta and Spectra from Monster High, Darling Charming from Ever After High, my baby Amu Hinamori, Rainbow Dash and so many other characters... Like this woman voiced in so many things!

Tecna's voice actress isn't only an actress but also a producer and a comedian and she's the voiceover in Barbie Fairytopia!

Aisha is Princess Celestia and Cynthia from Pokemon

Stella is Ludmila Ferro and it actually makes me laugh a lot because Ludmila is Stella if she was "mean"

Roxy = Violetta Castillo = Addison in Z-O-M-B-I-E-S = Lucie in Chica Vampiro = Fluttershy

Nabu is Ken but also Sasuke, Geoff from Total Drama and Kidou Yuuto

Riven is a dancer and a guitarist and also Roxy's father (Violetta's father actually but still) and Tsunami from Inazuma Eleven

Brandon is Gil from Descendants but also Ichinose Kazuya from Inazuma Eleven and Gaston Perida from Soy Luna. And funnier he is the "bad boy" of Chica Vampiro, Mirco Vladimoff!

Helia's voice actor is also the bad singer from Asterix!

Timmy is Fubuki from Inazuma Eleven and I can't believe I didn't realize that in my childhood and he's also Daring Charming!

Chatta's voice is many many characters from Barbie movies but also Twilight Sparkle, C.A Cupid, Honey Lemon, Daisy O'Brian or Roxy's aunt and Riven's future wife (Violetta's aunt)

Icy is Officer Jenny in Pokemon

Darcy is Gwen from Total Drama and that's the most logical thing I've ever heard. Oh and she's Applejack singing voice.

Stormy is Utau Hoshina and GOSH how I love this voice.

Ogron's voice actor also voices Kiyama Hiroto who is the total opposite of Ogron and that makes me laugh

Duman is dating Roxy. Addison and Zed from Z-O-M-B-I-E-S. He is also Kazemaru from Inazuma Eleven
