been thinking lately that harry must know a lot about anatomy. he was a gym teacher and now he's a detective; he knows all about muscle groups and what makes them tick. well what if he knows how to give a massage. what if kim keeps rubbing at the back of his neck because he has to bend his head at a weird angle constantly to write in his notebook. what if harry manages to fight through his anxiety over touching people for a moment because he knows he can help alleviate kim's neck pain. what then

Thank you so much for answering this ask with both platonic and romantic relationship between mc and characters
You're welcome. ♥
I want to emphasize that this game will prioritize platonic relationships as well as romantic ones. This also means that romancing a character won't lock you out of content for other characters.
I'm planning to implement a 'platonic soulmate' option late-game for anyone who wants a certain character to appear where a romanced character normally would during a dramatic scene. Otherwise, the game will default to, in order based on whether or not the relationship is high: Wilmot (imperator), Ailbe (if they are in the story at that point), or whichever character would naturally be there for that scene.

Happy Storyteller Saturday! With that recent snippet you shared of Saria cheating on Skalano with Iasis... how does this come about? Does she just really like these brothers (finding them both hot for familial facial features), did she want to court Iasis initially then ended up with Sakalano for political reasons, did she trip and fall into the wrong brother's bed etc? How did this go down initially?
HAPPY STS!
Answered by @the-majestic-pterodactyl-senpai since Saria is actually his lady!
"So, Saria was originally courted by Skalono for political marriage reasons. She was Skal's last choice out of the 3 Cane sisters (Alexandria, Ailbe, and Saria), and so that kind of put things off to a bad start. Skal was still very kind to her and I believe he did come to love her as she loved him, but Skal was incredibly disloyal to Saria.
From the start, he was seeing Alexandria behind her back. He kept his affairs on the down low, but eventually word got out to Saria about his flings with different servants and aristocrats. It was probably his affair with Lilith that actually got him caught, lmao. I actually wouldn't doubt that Lilith was the one to tell Saria about it, she definitely seems like the type to do that.
She absolutely did, under the impression that she knew about his affairs. This affair however was something that Lilith had pressured and Sari actually ended up feeling bad for him when he told her that Lilith made him do it. (Really, he could've gotten out of there, but it would have angered the superior and caused issues for Anemoi.
Saria was incredibly hurt finding out Skal had been continuously disloyal to her throughout their marriage, and begged him to stop his affairs. He promised he would, and things were okay. But eventually, he began sneaking around again. Saria eventually catches him again, and the cycle repeats. A Gala rolls around 7 years after Saria found out about Skal's flings, and she tells him that she would like it if this night was just for them. She asked him to spend the night by her side, dance with her, hold her- And he promised he would do just that. If he could give her nothing else, he’d give her one night to pretend her husband wasn’t a cheating bastard. Skal quickly went back on his promise, though. He ended up spending the night drunk, across the room from Saria, holding another woman and working his charms on her. Right in front of Saria. This enraged her, and she was finally done. What she did next wasn’t right by any means, but at that moment it was the most rational thing she could come up with (the other option being to walk across the room and stick a broken glass in Skalono’s gut). She sought out Iasis (who was recently divorced and angry at the world), brought him upstairs, and the two spent the night together in the upstairs common room. From there, they saw each other as frequently as they could. Saria felt guilty, yes, and she knew that what she was doing to Skalono was just as bad as what he was doing to her, but for the time she pushed the guilt down and continued on with her own affair. Blah blah blah, Saria ends up getting caught with Iasis. Iasis and Skalono duel. Skalono loses epicly, and Iasis doesn’t wanna kill him in front of Saria even though it’s his right to do so, so he lets him live and just takes some of his hair as a prize. Saria stops seeing Iasis while Skal is recovering, taking care of him and staying by his side. She has hope that this might be a turning point for their relationship, but unfortunately Skal once again falls back on old habits the moment he’s feeling better. And so, she goes back to Iasis.
One more key event in the downfall of Skal and Saria’s marriage is the birth of Amara. It’s when Saria finds out about Skal and Alexandria, and it’s the final nail in the coffin for her. She loves Amara with all her heart, having no problem raising her as her own daughter, but she has no more love left for Skalono at that point.
She falls in love with Iasis throughout this period, and the affair continues until Skal dies. After that, they still keep their relationship out of the public eye for a couple years but eventually come out and get married."
Something we've talked about a few times is the fact that Skalono and Alexandria would have been way more compatible. Alex as Skalono's first pick- but she was married to Azaiah and even if she wasn't, she was in no circumstances to be taken as Skalono's wife. She would have been way more firm with him and kept him on a leash per say. Iasis and Saria are extremely compatible, with Iasis being loyal as a dog and Sari's personality complimenting Iasis' neurodivergent swag. Also note for those who read the Azaiah stuff: Alex is not Azaiahs sister by blood. She is the daughter of Aidana and a man called Stannes, and Azaiah is Sibora's and Zachariahs. Its still very taboo for them both and they both think its a horrid situation that only conveniences Zachariah

Thursday, Twenty Third Week in Ordinary Time

(Liturgical Colour: Green. Year: B(II))
First Reading 1 Corinthians 8:1-7,11-13 Your brethren may be weaker than you: do not lead them astray.
Now about food sacrificed to idols. ‘We all have knowledge’; yes, that is so, but knowledge gives self-importance – it is love that makes the building grow. A man may imagine he understands something, but still not understand anything in the way that he ought to. But any man who loves God is known by him. Well then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: we know that idols do not really exist in the world and that there is no god but the One. And even if there were things called gods, either in the sky or on earth – where there certainly seem to be ‘gods’ and ‘lords’ in plenty – still for us there is one God, the Father, from whom all things come and for whom we exist; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things come and through whom we exist. Some people, however, do not have this knowledge. There are some who have been so long used to idols that they eat this food as though it really had been sacrificed to the idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled by it. In this way your knowledge could become the ruin of someone weak, of a brother for whom Christ died. By sinning in this way against your brothers, and injuring their weak consciences, it would be Christ against whom you sinned. That is why, since food can be the occasion of my brother’s downfall, I shall never eat meat again in case I am the cause of a brother’s downfall.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 138(139):1-3,13-14,23-24
R/ Lead me, O Lord, in the path of life eternal.
O Lord, you search me and you know me, you know my resting and my rising, you discern my purpose from afar. You mark when I walk or lie down, all my ways lie open to you.
R/ Lead me, O Lord, in the path of life eternal.
For it was you who created my being, knit me together in my mother’s womb. I thank you for the wonder of my being, for the wonders of all your creation.
R/ Lead me, O Lord, in the path of life eternal.
Already you knew my soul, O search me, God, and know my heart. O test me and know my thoughts. See that I follow not the wrong path and lead me in the path of life eternal.
R/ Lead me, O Lord, in the path of life eternal.
Gospel Acclamation James 1:21
Alleluia, alleluia! Accept and submit to the word which has been planted in you and can save your souls. Alleluia!
Or: 1 John 4:12
Alleluia, alleluia! As long as we love one another God will live in us and his love will be complete in us. Alleluia!
Gospel Luke 6:27-38 Love your enemies.
Jesus said to his disciples: ‘I say this to you who are listening: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who treat you badly. To the man who slaps you on one cheek, present the other cheek too; to the man who takes your cloak from you, do not refuse your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and do not ask for your property back from the man who robs you. Treat others as you would like them to treat you. If you love those who love you, what thanks can you expect? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what thanks can you expect? For even sinners do that much. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what thanks can you expect? Even sinners lend to sinners to get back the same amount. Instead, love your enemies and do good, and lend without any hope of return. You will have a great reward, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. ‘Be compassionate as your Father is compassionate. Do not judge, and you will not be judged yourselves; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned yourselves; grant pardon, and you will be pardoned. Give, and there will be gifts for you: a full measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap; because the amount you measure out is the amount you will be given back.’

R/ Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Either:
First Reading Galatians 4:4-7 God sent his Son, born of a woman.
When the appointed time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born a subject of the Law, to redeem the subjects of the Law and to enable us to be adopted as sons. The proof that you are sons is that God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts: the Spirit that cries, ‘Abba, Father’, and it is this that makes you a son, you are not a slave any more; and if God has made you son, then he has made you heir.

First reading Ephesians 1:3-6 Before the world was made, God chose us in Christ
Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all the spiritual blessings of heaven in Christ. Before the world was made, he chose us, chose us in Christ, to be holy and spotless, and to live through love in his presence, determining that we should become his adopted sons, through Jesus Christ for his own kind purposes, to make us praise the glory of his grace, his free gift to us in the Beloved.
Responsorial Psalm Luke 1:46-55
The Almighty works marvels for me. Holy is his name! or Blessed is the Virgin Mary, who bore the Son of the eternal Father.
My soul glorifies the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God, my Saviour.
The Almighty works marvels for me. Holy is his name! or Blessed is the Virgin Mary, who bore the Son of the eternal Father.
He looks on his servant in her nothingness; henceforth all ages will call me blessed. The Almighty works marvels for me. Holy his name!
The Almighty works marvels for me. Holy is his name! or Blessed is the Virgin Mary, who bore the Son of the eternal Father.
His mercy is from age to age, on those who fear him. He puts forth his arm in strength and scatters the proud-hearted.
The Almighty works marvels for me. Holy is his name! or Blessed is the Virgin Mary, who bore the Son of the eternal Father.
He casts the mighty from their thrones and raises the lowly. He fills the starving with good things, sends the rich away empty.
The Almighty works marvels for me. Holy is his name! or Blessed is the Virgin Mary, who bore the Son of the eternal Father.
He protects Israel, his servant, remembering his mercy, the mercy promised to our fathers, to Abraham and his sons for ever.
The Almighty works marvels for me. Holy is his name! or Blessed is the Virgin Mary, who bore the Son of the eternal Father.
Gospel Acclamation cf.Lk1:28
Alleluia, alleluia! Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee! Blessed art thou among women. Alleluia!

Alleluia, alleluia! Happy are those who hear the word of God and keep it. Alleluia!
Or:
Alleluia, alleluia! Blessed are you, holy Virgin Mary, and most worthy of all praise, for the sun of justice, Christ our God, was born of you. Alleluia!
Or:
Alleluia, alleluia! Happy is the Virgin Mary, who, without dying, won the palm of martyrdom beneath the cross of the Lord. Alleluia!
Gospel Luke 1:39-47 Blessed is she who believed the promise.
Mary set out and went as quickly as she could to a town in the hill country of Judah. She went into Zechariah’s house and greeted Elizabeth. Now as soon as Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the child leapt in her womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. She gave a loud cry and said, ‘Of all women you are the most blessed, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. Why should I be honoured with a visit from the mother of my Lord? For the moment your greeting reached my ears, the child in my womb leapt for joy. Yes, blessed is she who believed that the promise made her by the Lord would be fulfilled.’ And Mary said:
‘My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord and my spirit exults in God my saviour.’

First Reading Exodus 32:7-14 Moses pleads with the Lord his God to spare Israel.
The Lord spoke to Moses, ‘Go down now, because your people whom you brought out of Egypt have apostatised. They have been quick to leave the way I marked out for them; they have made themselves a calf of molten metal and have worshipped it and offered it sacrifice. “Here is your God, Israel,” they have cried, “who brought you up from the land of Egypt!”’ the Lord said to Moses, ‘I can see how headstrong these people are! Leave me, now, my wrath shall blaze out against them and devour them; of you, however, I will make a great nation.’ But Moses pleaded with the Lord his God. ‘Lord,’ he said ‘why should your wrath blaze out against this people of yours whom you brought out of the land of Egypt with arm outstretched and mighty hand? Why let the Egyptians say, “Ah, it was in treachery that he brought them out, to do them to death in the mountains and wipe them off the face of the earth”? Leave your burning wrath; relent and do not bring this disaster on your people. Remember Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, your servants to whom by your own self you swore and made this promise: I will make your offspring as many as the stars of heaven, and all this land which I promised I will give to your descendants, and it shall be their heritage for ever.’ So the Lord relented and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened.

First reading Deuteronomy 10:8-9 The Lord set apart the tribe of Levi to do him service
Moses said to the people: ‘The Lord set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the Lord’s covenant, to stand in the presence of the Lord, to do him service and in his name to pronounce blessing as they still do today. Levi therefore has no share or inheritance with his brothers: the Lord is his inheritance, as the Lord your God told him.’
OR: --------
First reading 1 Samuel 16:1,6-13 David is anointed by Samuel
The Lord said to Samuel, ‘Fill your horn with oil and go. I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem, for I have chosen myself a king among his sons.’ Samuel purified Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice. When they arrived, he caught sight of Eliab and thought, ‘Surely the Lord’s anointed one stands there before him’, but the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Take no notice of his appearance or his height for I have rejected him; God does not see as man sees; man looks at appearances but the Lord looks at the heart.’ Jesse then called Abinadab and presented him to Samuel, who said, ‘The Lord has not chosen this one either.’ Jesse then presented Shammah, but Samuel said, ‘The Lord has not chosen this one either.’ Jesse presented his seven sons to Samuel, but Samuel said to Jesse, ‘The Lord has not chosen these.’ He then asked Jesse, ‘Are these all the sons you have?’ He answered, ‘There is still one left, the youngest; he is out looking after the sheep.’ Then Samuel said to Jesse, ‘Send for him; we will not sit down to eat until he comes.’ Jesse had him sent for, a boy of fresh complexion, with fine eyes and pleasant bearing. The Lord said, ‘Come, anoint him, for this is the one.’ At this, Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him where he stood with his brothers; and the spirit of the Lord seized on David and stayed with him from that day on.
OR: --------
First reading Isaiah 6:1-8 Isaiah's lips cleansed with a burning coal
In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord of Hosts seated on a high throne; his train filled the sanctuary; above him stood seraphs, each one with six wings: two to cover its face, two to cover its feet, and two for flying. And they cried out to one another in this way,
‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Hosts. His glory fills the whole earth.’
The foundations of the threshold shook with the voice of the one who cried out, and the Temple was filled with smoke. I said:
‘What a wretched state I am in! I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have looked at the King, the Lord of Hosts.’
Then one of the seraphs flew to me, holding in his hand a live coal which he had taken from the altar with a pair of tongs. With this he touched my mouth and said:
‘See now, this has touched your lips, your sin is taken away, your iniquity is purged.’
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying:
‘Whom shall I send? Who will be our messenger?’
I answered, ‘Here I am, send me.’
OR: --------
First reading Isaiah 61:1-3 He has sent me to proclaim a year of favour from the Lord
The spirit of the Lord has been given to me, for the Lord has anointed me. He has sent me to bring good news to the poor, to bind up hearts that are broken;
to proclaim liberty to captives, freedom to those in prison; to proclaim a year of favour from the Lord, a day of vengeance for our God,
to comfort all those who mourn and to give them for ashes a garland; for mourning robe the oil of gladness, for despondency, praise.
OR: --------
First reading Jeremiah 1:4-9 Go and say whatever I command you and do not fear
The word of the Lord was addressed to me, saying,
‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you came to birth I consecrated you; I have appointed you as prophet to the nations.’
I said, ‘Ah, Lord; look, I do not know how to speak: I am a child!’
But the Lord replied, ‘Do not say, “I am a child.” Go now to those to whom I send you and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to protect you – it is the Lord who speaks!’
Then the Lord put out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me:
‘There! I am putting my words into your mouth.’
OR: --------
First reading Ezekiel 3:17-21 Warn the wicked man, and you will live
The word of the Lord was addressed to me as follows, ‘Son of man, I have appointed you as sentry to the House of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from me, warn them in my Name. If I say to a wicked man, “You are to die,” and you do not warn him; if you do not speak and warn him to renounce his evil ways and so live, then he shall die for his sin, but I will hold you responsible for his death. If, however, you do warn a wicked man and he does not renounce his wickedness and his evil ways, then he shall die for his sin, but you yourself will have saved your life. When the upright man renounces his integrity to do evil and I set a trap for him, he too shall die; since you failed to warn him, he shall die for his sin and the integrity he practised will no longer be remembered; but I will hold you responsible for his death. If, however, you warn the upright man not to sin and he abstains from sinning, he shall live, thanks to your warning, and you too will have saved your life.’
OR: --------
First reading Ezekiel 34:11-16 I will look after my flock myself and keep all of it in view
The Lord God says this: I am going to look after my flock myself and keep all of it in view. As a shepherd keeps all his flock in view when he stands up in the middle of his scattered sheep, so shall I keep my sheep in view. I shall rescue them from wherever they have been scattered during the mist and darkness. I shall bring them out of the countries where they are; I shall gather them together from foreign countries and bring them back to their own land. I shall pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in every inhabited place in the land. I shall feed them in good pasturage; the high mountains of Israel will be their grazing ground. There they will rest in good grazing ground; they will browse in rich pastures on the mountains of Israel. I myself will pasture my sheep, I myself will show them where to rest – it is the Lord who speaks. I shall look for the lost one, bring back the stray, bandage the wounded and make the weak strong. I shall watch over the fat and healthy. I shall be a true shepherd to them.
Responsorial Psalm Psalm 15(16):1-2,5,7-8,11
You are my inheritance, O Lord.
Preserve me, God, I take refuge in you. I say to the Lord: ‘You are my God.’ O Lord, it is you who are my portion and cup; it is you yourself who are my prize.
You are my inheritance, O Lord.
I will bless the Lord who gives me counsel, who even at night directs my heart. I keep the Lord ever in my sight: since he is at my right hand, I shall stand firm.
You are my inheritance, O Lord.
You will show me the path of life, the fullness of joy in your presence, at your right hand happiness for ever.
You are my inheritance, O Lord.
Gospel Acclamation Mt23:9,10
Alleluia, alleluia! You have only one Father, and he is in heaven; you have only one Teacher, the Christ. Alleluia!
Or: Mt28:19,20
Alleluia, alleluia! Go, make disciples of all the nations. I am with you always; yes, to the end of time. Alleluia!
Or: Mk1:17
Alleluia, alleluia! Follow me, says the Lord, and I will make you into fishers of men. Alleluia!
Or: Lk4:18
Alleluia, alleluia! The Lord has sent me to bring the good news to the poor, to proclaim liberty to captives. Alleluia!
Or: Jn10:14
Alleluia, alleluia! I am the good shepherd, says the Lord; I know my own sheep and my own know me. Alleluia!
Or: Jn15:5
Alleluia, alleluia! I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me, with me in him, bears fruit in plenty, says the Lord. Alleluia!
Or: 2Co5:19
Alleluia, alleluia! God in Christ was reconciling the world to himself, and he has entrusted to us the news that they are reconciled. Alleluia!
Gospel Matthew 9:35-37 The harvest is rich but the labourers are few.
Jesus made a tour through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Good News of the kingdom and curing all kinds of diseases and sickness. And when he saw the crowds he felt sorry for them because they were harassed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is rich but the labourers are few, so ask the Lord of the harvest to send labourers to his harvest.’

List of gender neutral/non binary names from mythology! (global mythology) (Part 1!)
Hope this helps someone! (Added some relative links/definitions from 'Behind the Name'. :D)
If you have any suggestions of what I should post next feel free to send me an ask!! :D
Ailbhe (Irish): From Old Irish Ailbe, possibly derived from the old Celtic root *albiyo- "world, light, white" or Old Irish ail "rock". In Irish legend this was the name of a female warrior of the Fianna. It was also the name of a 6th-century masculine saint, the founder of a monastery at Emly.

by Stan Gale | I read a comic recently where a boy found a brass lamp on the beach. He brushed the sand off and tried to rub off the grime. Out emerged a genie. The genie told him he had three wishes, anything he wanted. The boy’s first wish was for a thousand more wishes.
Sometimes we can treat Jesus like that, a genie at our disposal, particularly when we read passages like this: “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him” (1 John 5:14–15). John wrote something similar earlier in his letter…

There is more to read (to also make it less of a scroll)
Note: No you can't ask Fate questions but you may mention them- most characters will pay no mind to it except for a select few...
And gifts to the cast are appreciated! (as long as it's not harmful. Bonus: yes you can summon creatures from any pikmin game just make sure you have a owner set.)
Also remember some characters do not know of eachother's existence or believe they have passed away a long time ago. And please refrain from telling everyone about everyone else- it'll kinda ruin the au.
If I post a [#plot progression] tag its mainly to continue the story! I usually won't do more than one in a row/so close to eachother. Unless if I needed to continue a ask on a different post.
If you see the [#undoable action] in a response you did not cause the event to happen (so don't feel sad) but you can't do anything to undo it. Some things are just ment to happen.
Here are the bios:

What if after the accidental slip up in the argument the MC just drops off the face of the earth for a time, and when they come back their walls go up and they treat the RO coldly with souless eyes. Pretty much the RO broke them.
omg, the absolute DRAMA of this ask!
If he could've, Roman would've spent all the money in the world to find you and being you back to him. How is he supposed to function without you? How is he supposed to live, to breathe? He needs you in his life and he will do anything to get you back.
When he does get you back, however, everything is different. Your relationship is not what it used to be and that's evident in the way you look at him; no longer with love and adoration but rather a coldness and distrust that makes him feel sick and helpless. You avoid being close, avoiding physical contact; you're coldly indifferent toward him like he's nothing more than a stranger on the street. There’s a you-shaped hole in his life now and if you listen closely, you can hear his heart break in real-time.
-
Nadia has seen a lot working for I-DIE. The Agents come and go, each with stories more traumatising than the last. For a long time, she thought there wasn’t anything she couldn’t handle. Until you came along. You are the only thing she wasn't prepared for.
It’s difficult to nail down the methods and reasons behind your impulsiveness, each of your decisions are so vastly different in nature that the task is virtually impossible. So she stops trying and when you vanish off the face of the earth, she’s not surprised. Getting used to your absence and putting you out of her mind is easy when she's always got work to fall back on. She convinces herself that you’re just another Agent, another paycheck and she forgets about you because if you truly valued your relationship with her, you wouldn’t have run away.
Your eventual return doesn’t surprise her either and when you keep your distance from her, she’d long since expected it. She knows how to handle you now; she doesn’t do it at all.
-
C’s only mission is getting you back. They abandon their work, they tear through the city, they burn through resources – all in the hopes that they’ll find you.  But nothing comes up. It’s as if you'd never existed in the first place and C’s heart aches like a bruise you just can't leave alone.
But then, you come back all on your own and it’s like the clouds have finally parted, allowing the sun to shine on them once more. They welcome you back with open arms, ready to pick up exactly where you left off, only to be met by your ice-cold glare and a dismissiveness that makes them freeze. It’s enough to shatter their heart, their world coming to an abrupt and hideous end.
They already know what it’s like to have to be without you and if they’re truly being honest with themself; there’s no way they can go through that a second time.
-
Ailbe is furious. Furious that you would leave them, furious that they’d let you. Only cowards run from their problems and for the first time in their life, they regard you as such. There are so many things they want to say to you, most of them unkind, but they have to let it go, you left them no other choice.
They put a lot of effort into getting over you and figuring out their life now that you’re no longer in it. Your sudden return has all their progress going out the window however and they’re angry all over again, perhaps even more so than when you first left. And you pushing them away only serves to anger them further.
You want to act like a child and treat them with such cold indifference? Fine; just don't be mad when they beat you at your own game.

That day felt so, so different. Smudge grabbed their food and left, they didn't even sit down to eat with me. That was the strangest part if I'm being honest.
But that wasn't the weirdest part. There's a definite distinction between strange and weird, (something something a breach on familiarity) but I don't want to get into that right now. The weirdest part of the day was that I had an entire conversation with one of the main characters, Ailbe. She stopped by where I worked, sorting small spells and combining them for use, to ask me about some specifications on how mixing spells worked. I told her about how you have to be really careful to keep them on a spellstone if you were breaking them, or the spell would be released, and how you had to mix them in certain orders for certain results. I mean, you can't just randomly mix a sleep spell and a thought spell and hope for a dreamwalk spell, there's a formula to it. She seemed genuinely interested, and asked if I could mix some spells up for her.
I hesitated. I don't want to get caught up in the plot. That's dangerous. But I trust Smudge, and they said that I needed to be important to live. So I told Ailbe l'd do my best, and to swing by the next day, and I'd get them what they asked for.
I stared at the spell crystals at my work place, my head tilted as I thought about her request. A dreamwalk that would let her control someone else's dreams to sift through their memories. That could be difficult. And a fire spell that wouldn't burn but would still be felt. She has the clearance to ask for stuff like this, but it's still tricky stuff, no matter who did it, and like Smudge said, I'm not much when it comes to spells. But it was worth a shot.
Plus, a challenge like this could be fun.
A few hours later, I'd figured it out. Untouchable fire, which can only be seen and doesn't do much beyond light, mixed with a lightning spell that had been mixed with a safety spell. A couple of minutes ago I'd been on the edge of a breakdown, but thankfully I got to a breakthrough first. I still needed a good cry after my best friend told me we weren't safe as friends anymore and talking to a Plot Person, but hey. New spell!!
I got up and decided to walk around the lab to stretch my legs, maybe brag about the breakthrough, when a voice crackled over the barracks speakers.
"Taylor, Ailbe, Wren, and Pinja. You are required in the training area now."
I froze. Everyone froze. No one in the labs was important. None of us. But my name was called, alongside the main trio's. Before their names.
I looked at my workspace and grabbed all of the spells I'd made that day, folding them into containing cloths and sticking them in one of the carry bags that were pre-stocked for field workers. I felt nauseous, but I also had a feeling I'd need them.
"Here I go." I whispered, and headed out the lab doors.
(X) <- what Taylor and Smudge look like in my head
You are a unimportant background character just trying to survive whatever nonsense the main characters are up to. However you keep finding yourself being drawn into dangerous stituations, and to your horror you realise that you’re a fan favorite character the show is giving more “screen time”.

Nibbles on Ailbe's ear.
@raimpire
A faint groan came from the shop keeper as he was laid out on the floor in the back room where his ‘office’ would be. A kotatsu covering his lower half as he laid on his stomach with his head resting on a pillow. He’d gotten tired while going through the inventory lists that were spread out on the table’s surface and dozed off. Leaving him vulnerable to this leech.
Swatting at him with a sleepy growl as he tried to cover his ears with his hands.
“Go ‘way.”.
His words were a tired mumble that was barely coherent.

"I do have family! I have my parents, their names are Mairenn and Ciar. And there's Íte, she's my younger sister. And Llyr too, don't tell him I said this, but he's like family to me. My younger brother. There's also Stonecutter and Eir and Ailbe! I love them all, very very much. I... I hope I'll be able to see them again. I'll get stronger, and then I'll find them all again..."

Ailbe: Question.
Ailbe: actually, before I get there I'm establishing this as a JUDGMENT FREE ZONE okay, shithead?
Ailbe: if a hypothetical guy were to hypothetically write poetry about and for a hypothetical girl...
Ailbe: is he just trying to pull out the stops and get into her pants? Or does he, you know, hypothetically speaking, like her?
Ailbe: It's for science. For real. My degree may very well depend on this.

12th September >> Mass Readings (Except USA)
Monday, Twenty Fourth Week in Ordinary Time
    or
The Most Holy Name of Mary
    or
Saint Ailbe, Bishop.
Monday, Twenty Fourth Week in Ordinary Time
(Liturgical Colour: Green)
First Reading
1 Corinthians 11:17-26,33
If each one hurries to be first, it is not the Lord's Supper you are eating.
On the subject of instructions, I cannot say that you have done well in holding meetings that do you more harm than good. In the first place, I hear that when you all come together as a community, there are separate factions among you, and I half believe it – since there must no doubt be separate groups among you, to distinguish those who are to be trusted. The point is, when you hold these meetings, it is not the Lord’s Supper that you are eating, since when the time comes to eat, everyone is in such a hurry to start his own supper that one person goes hungry while another is getting drunk. Surely you have homes for eating and drinking in? Surely you have enough respect for the community of God not to make poor people embarrassed? What am I to say to you? Congratulate you? I cannot congratulate you on this.
For this is what I received from the Lord, and in turn passed on to you: that on the same night that he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread, and thanked God for it and broke it, and he said, ‘This is my body, which is for you; do this as a memorial of me.’ In the same way he took the cup after supper, and said, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Whenever you drink it, do this as a memorial of me.’ Until the Lord comes, therefore, every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are proclaiming his death. So to sum up, my dear brothers, when you meet for the Meal, wait for one another.
The Word of the Lord
R/ Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm
Psalm 39(40):7-10,17
R/ Proclaim the death of the Lord, until he comes.
You do not ask for sacrifice and offerings,    but an open ear. You do not ask for holocaust and victim.    Instead, here am I.
R/ Proclaim the death of the Lord, until he comes.
In the scroll of the book it stands written    that I should do your will. My God, I delight in your law    in the depth of my heart.
R/ Proclaim the death of the Lord, until he comes.
Your justice I have proclaimed    in the great assembly. My lips I have not sealed;    you know it, O Lord.
R/ Proclaim the death of the Lord, until he comes.
O let there be rejoicing and gladness    for all who seek you. Let them ever say: ‘The Lord is great’,    who love your saving help.
R/ Proclaim the death of the Lord, until he comes.

Gospel
Luke 7:1-10
Give the word and, my servant will be healed.
When Jesus had come to the end of all he wanted the people to hear, he went into Capernaum. A centurion there had a servant, a favourite of his, who was sick and near death. Having heard about Jesus he sent some Jewish elders to him to ask him to come and heal his servant. When they came to Jesus they pleaded earnestly with him. ‘He deserves this of you’ they said ‘because he is friendly towards our people; in fact, he is the one who built the synagogue.’ So Jesus went with them, and was not very far from the house when the centurion sent word to him by some friends: ‘Sir,’ he said ‘do not put yourself to trouble; because I am not worthy to have you under my roof; and for this same reason I did not presume to come to you myself; but give the word and let my servant be cured. For I am under authority myself, and have soldiers under me; and I say to one man: Go, and he goes; to another: Come here, and he comes; to my servant: Do this, and he does it.’ When Jesus heard these words he was astonished at him and, turning round, said to the crowd following him, ‘I tell you, not even in Israel have I found faith like this.’ And when the messengers got back to the house they found the servant in perfect health.

Galatians 4:4-7
God sent his Son, born of a woman.

Ephesians 1:3-6
Before the world was made, God chose us in Christ.

Luke 1:39-47
Blessed is she who believed the promise.

Exodus 32:7-14
Moses pleads with the Lord his God to spare Israel.
The Lord spoke to Moses, ‘Go down now, because your people whom you brought out of Egypt have apostatised. They have been quick to leave the way I marked out for them; they have made themselves a calf of molten metal and have worshipped it and offered it sacrifice. “Here is your God, Israel,” they have cried “who brought you up from the land of Egypt!”’ the Lord said to Moses, ‘I can see how headstrong these people are! Leave me, now, my wrath shall blaze out against them and devour them; of you, however, I will make a great nation.’
But Moses pleaded with the Lord his God.

First reading Isaiah 6:1-2,3-8 'Here I am: send me'
In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord of Hosts seated on a high throne; his train filled the sanctuary; above him stood seraphs, each one with six wings.
OR: --------
First reading Isaiah 52:7-10 Rejoice, for the Lord is consoling his people
How beautiful on the mountains, are the feet of one who brings good news, who heralds peace, brings happiness, proclaims salvation, and tells Zion, ‘Your God is king!’
Listen! Your watchmen raise their voices, they shout for joy together, for they see the Lord face to face, as he returns to Zion.
Break into shouts of joy together, you ruins of Jerusalem; for the Lord is consoling his people, redeeming Jerusalem.
The Lord bares his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
OR: --------
First reading Isaiah 61:1-3 He has sent me to proclaim a year of favour from the Lord
The spirit of the Lord has been given to me, for the Lord has anointed me. He has sent me to bring good news to the poor, to bind up hearts that are broken;
to proclaim liberty to captives, freedom to those in prison; to proclaim a year of favour from the Lord, a day of vengeance for our God,
to comfort all those who mourn and to give them for ashes a garland; for mourning robe the oil of gladness, for despondency, praise.
But the Lord replied, ‘Do not say, “I am a child.” Go now to those to whom I send you and, say whatever I command you.

Gospel Matthew 9:35-37 The harvest is rich but the labourers are few
Jesus made a tour through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Good News of the kingdom and curing all kinds of diseases and sickness.    And when he saw the crowds he felt sorry for them because they were harassed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is rich but the labourers are few, so ask the Lord of the harvest to send labourers to his harvest.’

Gospel Matthew 16:13-19 You are Peter and on this rock I will build my Church
When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi he put this question to his disciples, ‘Who do people say the Son of Man is?’ And they said, ‘Some say he is John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ ‘But you,’ he said ‘who do you say I am?’ Then Simon Peter spoke up, ‘You are the Christ,’ he said ‘the Son of the living God.’ Jesus replied, ‘Simon son of Jonah, you are a happy man! Because it was not flesh and blood that revealed this to you but my Father in heaven. So I now say to you: You are Peter and on this rock I will build my Church. And the gates of the underworld can never hold out against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: whatever you bind on earth shall be considered bound in heaven; whatever you loose on earth shall be considered loosed in heaven.’

Gospel Matthew 23:8-12 The greatest among you must be your servant
Jesus said to his disciples, ‘You must not allow yourselves to be called Rabbi, since you have only one master, and you are all brothers. You must call no one on earth your father, since you have only one Father, and he is in heaven. Nor must you allow yourselves to be called teachers, for you have only one Teacher, the Christ. The greatest among you must be your servant. Anyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and anyone who humbles himself will exalted.’

Gospel Matthew 28:16-20 Go and make disciples of all nations
The eleven disciples set out for Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had arranged to meet them. When they saw him they fell down before him, though some hesitated. Jesus came up and spoke to them. He said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, make disciples of all the nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe all the commands I gave you. And know that I am with you always; yes, to the end of time.’
OR: --------
Gospel Mark 1:14-20 I will make you into fishers of men
After John had been arrested, Jesus went into Galilee. There he proclaimed the Good News from God. ‘The time has come’ he said ‘and the kingdom of God is close at hand. Repent, and believe the Good News.’    As he was walking along by the Sea of Galilee he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net in the lake – for they were fishermen. And Jesus said to them, ‘Follow me and I will make you into fishers of men.’ And at once they left their nets and followed him.    Going on a little further, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John; they too were in their boat, mending their nets. He called them at once and, leaving their father Zebedee in the boat with the men he employed, they went after him.

Gospel Mark 16:15-20 Go out to the whole world; proclaim the Good News
Jesus showed himself to the Eleven and said to them:    ‘Go out to the whole world; proclaim the Good News to all creation. He who believes and is baptised will be saved; he who does not believe will be condemned. These are the signs that will be associated with believers: in my name they will cast out devils; they will have the gift of tongues; they will pick up snakes in their hands, and be unharmed should they drink deadly poison; they will lay their hands on the sick, who will recover.’    And so the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven: there at the right hand of God he took his place, while they, going out, preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word by the signs that accompanied it.

Gospel Luke 5:1-11 They left everything and followed him
Jesus was standing one day by the Lake of Gennesaret, with the crowd pressing round him listening to the word of God, when he caught sight of two boats close to the bank. The fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats – it was Simon’s – and asked him to put out a little from the shore. Then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat.    When he had finished speaking he said to Simon, ‘Put out into deep water and pay out your nets for a catch.’ ‘Master,’ Simon replied, ‘we worked hard all night long and caught nothing, but if you say so, I will pay out the nets.’ And when they had done this they netted such a huge number of fish that their nets began to tear, so they signalled to their companions in the other boat to come and help them; when these came, they filled the two boats to sinking point.    When Simon Peter saw this he fell at the knees of Jesus saying, ‘Leave me, Lord; I am a sinful man.’ For he and all his companions were completely overcome by the catch they had made; so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were Simon’s partners. But Jesus said to Simon, ‘Do not be afraid; from now on it is men you will catch.’ Then, bringing their boats back to land, they left everything and followed him.

Gospel Luke 10:1-9 Your peace will rest on that man
The Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them out ahead of him, in pairs, to all the towns and places he himself was to visit. He said to them, ‘The harvest is rich but the labourers are few, so ask the Lord of the harvest to send labourers to his harvest. Start off now, but remember, I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. Carry no purse, no haversack, no sandals. Salute no one on the road. Whatever house you go into, let your first words be, “Peace to this house!” And if a man of peace lives there, your peace will go and rest on him; if not, it will come back to you. Stay in the same house, taking what food and drink they have to offer, for the labourer deserves his wages; do not move from house to house. Whenever you go into a town where they make you welcome, eat what is set before you. Cure those in it who are sick, and say, “The kingdom of God is very near to you.”’

Gospel Luke 22:24-30 I confer a kingdom on you, just as the Father conferred one on me
A dispute arose between the disciples about which should be reckoned the greatest, but Jesus said to them:    ‘Among pagans it is the kings who lord it over them, and those who have authority over them are given the title Benefactor. This must not happen with you. No; the greatest among you must behave as if he were the youngest, the leader as if he were the one who serves. For who is the greater: the one at table or the one who serves? The one at table, surely? Yet here am I among you as one who serves!    ‘You are the men who have stood by me faithfully in my trials; and now I confer a kingdom on you, just as my Father conferred one on me: you will eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and you will sit on thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.’

Gospel John 10:11-16 The good shepherd is one who lays down his life for his sheep
Jesus said:
‘I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd is one who lays down his life for his sheep. The hired man, since he is not the shepherd and the sheep do not belong to him, abandons the sheep and runs away as soon as he sees a wolf coming, and then the wolf attacks and scatters the sheep; this is because he is only a hired man and has no concern for the sheep.
‘I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for my sheep. And there are other sheep I have that are not of this fold, and these I have to lead as well. They too will listen to my voice, and there will be only one flock, and one shepherd.’

Gospel John 15:9-17 You are my friends if you do what I command you
Jesus said to his disciples:
‘As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my own joy may be in you and your joy be complete. This is my commandment: love one another, as I have loved you. A man can have no greater love than to lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends, if you do what I command you. I shall not call you servants any more, because a servant does not know his master’s business; I call you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have learnt from my Father. You did not choose me: no, I chose you; and I commissioned you to go out and to bear fruit, fruit that will last; and then the Father will give you anything you ask him in my name. What I command you is to love one another.’

Gospel John 21:15-17 Feed my lambs, feed my sheep
Jesus showed himself to his disciples, and after they had eaten he said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me more than these others do?’ He answered, ‘Yes Lord, you know I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my lambs.’ A second time he said to him, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ He replied, ‘Yes, Lord, you know I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Look after my sheep.’ Then he said to him a third time, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ Peter was upset that he asked him the third time, ‘Do you love me?’ and said, ‘Lord, you know everything; you know I love you.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my sheep.’
