2. The moment Nimaiya falls under Askin's domain captures well the terrifying, sickening feeling of being poisoned to death, and likely monstrous spiritual pressure. A reference would be Nanao dying under Yamamoto's SP, or 1st season weak people falling to the ground in Byakuya's captain class presence. But this is a Squad 0 member we talking about here, so Askin is… something.

It's from poisoning not SP, one might say, but Askin's poison works or not, fast or slow depending on the enemy's SP. If it was higher than Askin's, he wouldn't have fallen like that.

Also, it is the same for Askin. I will never get tired of pointing it out. His enemy experiences the debilitating sickness, the excruciating pain, the feeling of dying once, but Askin feels it constantly, and its not pleasant at all. Its why he hates it. Its like not being able to cut the enemy without feeling the sword going through himself. Whatever is killing the other, he feels it himself in terrible detail, but doesn't die, it doesn't end for him.

I didn't expect to see his staff so early on but at least I got to see how he usually uses it. Mister 'I hate close/physical combat'. He might hate violence, but no one could accuse him of not being ready for it…

its impossible to nail down a timeline for this kind of thing because a) patrick is known to create demos that dont necessarily contain lyrics or finalized lyrics (i.e., miss missing you, which he famously wrote during the hiatus but said he wanted to hear what petes lyrics would sound like over it, the initial demo patrick wrote for church which patrick describes as "very rambling" and has very different lyrics to the final product), b) no one in fall out boy understands linear time and so theyre infamously terrible at naming specific years for when things happened, and c) if you haven't noticed pete has a tendency to repeat certain motifs and specific phrases over the years (i.e., the specific way he describes his low moments as a "big black sadness" in multiple different blog posts over the span of two years, the fact that he was penning lyrics that would end up in "hold me like a grudge" as early as 9 years prior to its debut). we also don't have the benefit of knowing whether he's quoting himself for certain blog entries as a wink and a nod to stuff thats still being or already has been written or if hes just writing down thoughts patrick will later use.

in short there are a billion explanations for that and i think very few of them factor in some dude from some other band because writing songs is a lot more complicated than that

Are lycras actually canon?

Everybody calls characters like Pink Guy, Salamander Man, Red Dick, etc lycras. But why do people call them that? What is the source of the name? That's what I'm gonna be discussing today, I guess.

The main source of all this seems to be the Filthy Frank Wiki, and I have already stated in a previous post that the wiki is a bit shit. The wiki often tends to have fan theories and joke stuff passed down as true, unfinished articles, most articles completely ignore the lore from the book, and overall a lot of stuff that's not canon. This is what the article for the Lycra people says

I don't know about you, but I don't remember any videos that mentioned a Chinpocalypse or how if you don't feed your Lycras enough Chin chin branded chromosomes their skin will fall off and they will freeze to death (But the idea of Chin chin branded chromosomes is pretty funny. I have to give that to whoever wrote that it's like he's a cereal mascot.) I especially don't remember all that in the book, which is supposed to explain the lore of Filthy Frank.

So Lycras are mostly likely not canon. I say most likely because of how prevalent it is. Every single supposed Lycra character's article mentions how they were turned into Lycras by Chin Chin, and everybody in the community calls them Lycras. It's so prevalent that it had to come from somewhere. No way some random guy just made the article for Lycra people and everybody just ran with it. It had to originate from somewhere. Maybe Joji made a post on facebook or twitter about Lycras. Even if he did Lycras are probably not canon anymore. I would appreciate it if somebody would find the origins of all this, unless some random guy did make the Lycra article on a whim and everybody just ran with it.

By the way, I don't want to discourage anyone from calling them Lycras. Y'all can keep calling them that since I will too. It's a good group name, especially since you can't really call them much else if you want people to know what you're talking about when you're talking about that group of characters. Just keep in mind that the name is not actually canon.
