SO im having a train of thought. of perhaps. giving artemis a bit of evolution here.
she's feeling much more in line with a general spirit of the wild than perhaps being associated with any one pantheon. and really this is delving into some sort of existentialism aspect of religion in general because humanity has created all of these different facets and interpretations of the same core things: the wilderness, nature, death, the cycle of life, etc etc
when, really--these concepts have existed far beyond any paradigm that humanity could give them. what would incite a god or a spirit to adhere to one particular pantheon or form in any true fashion?
i think it would be much more likely to appear in a form that a human could understand. if that would be their idealized image in their religion ie. as artemis (greek), as diana (roman), as geb (egyptian), as asintmah (athabaskan), etc etc
what if it is simply this core deity of nature that is being interpreted in all of these different ways? given all of these forms and names so that one is led to believe that there are many but it is in fact just one.

Take 2 at writing this since I went way off the rails and will again, if I know myself.
Sally Face spoilers ahead.
Okay, I'm thinking about Ash hitting rock bottom off screen. I'm thinking about her time after Sal's death and before finding the Pyramids of Asintmah. And even before that, with the massacre and Larry's suicide, that alone is enough to crack most people. Ash came home from college because of the death of her grandmother, didn't even get a chance to visit her childhood friend before he apparently died of an overdose, and, as she was on her way to try to help, another close friend seemingly has a breakdown and massacres multiple people, including their buddy from highschool and his 3 year old daughter. The story (reasonably) focuses on Sal in all of this, but Ash genuinely didn't even believe in the supernatural the others were talking about. She had no reason to.
So, when we reach the aftermath of Sal's death, I have to imagine there was a feeling of defeat and a feeling of guilt. Like maybe if she'd believed them, none of this would have happened. Her testimony was used as proof Sal was guilty, despite her attempts to get him help. Now, I don't think the cult would ever let Sal live, so her testimony wasn't actually the nail in the coffin, but try convincing her of that.
I'm also thinking about Neil. Neil who's in-laws were cut down. Neil who's boyfriend was found beaten and bloodied, half insane from whatever he experienced. Neil who just tried to keep going, only vaguely aware of the supernatural they tried to protect him from before being plunged into it without warning. I wonder if Neil stopped going to class after that. I wonder if he put his dreams on hold to try and take care of not only Todd, but Ash, Gizmo, and eventually Maple.
It had to be exhausting and it had to be painful but I think he never hesitated to put his life on the back burner for the people he loved. Ash definitely dropped out when it happened. I firmly believe she took over Sal's living area after his death. It's not like anyone was using it before that anyway, since Sal was in jail for half a decade before his death.
I don't know. This is barely coherent but I'm Having Thoughts about all that happened off screen.
Having Ash Campbell thoughts again.

DIY Upcycling Jewellery Projects - Part Twelve
DIY Upcycling Jewellery Projects – Part Twelve
Upcycling Project Overview As a way to create my own jewellery because I admire so many bold pieces from the likes of artists like Adina Mills, I started creating my own items. I use old necklaces, rings and bangles I no longer wear or want, and change them into something new. All of my items have names of strong women, historical, fictional or otherwise, and this is just a fun hobby for me,…

INDIE KEYBLADES SET 3
SANITY'S FALL -
A Keyblade modeled after the guitar and ghost energy from Sally Face made by Steve Gab This Keyblade is designed to have a high reach and extra damage to Dark based enemies! The hilt of the keyblade comes from Sal's guitar, the shaft coming from the Cult's Ghost energy torches, culminating into Sal's famous mask exploding with Ghost Energy for the teeth. The Keychain is a representation of the Three Pyramids of Asintmah, with the Token being Sal's room key.
The world logo comes from the Apartments that Sal and his Father move to, and the main setting of the game. The name comes from the band that Sal and Larry bond over, Sanity's Fall, which shares its initials from Sal's nickname Sally Face.
INFERNAL FATE -
A Keyblade modeled after the Cthonic appearance of Hades by Supergiant Games! This Keyblade is designed to have double damage with Shotlocks and comes with its down Death Defy! The hit of the blade is designed after Zagreus' Stygius, but with the Laurel taking more of a form from Zagreus as well as forming the other half of the hilt. Gems referencing Zag's heterochromia are placed into the skulls. The shaft of the blade is a combination of Stygius taking the form of the Sigil of the Dead, Hades' personal symbol. This goes in front of a skeletal neck and head of a hound, taking inspiration from Lerny and Cerberus. The Token is that of Charon's Obol.
The World Logo is that of Hades' domain, where Zagreus always returns to. The name is a combination of Zagreus' weapons being called Infernal Arms, and his Fate in the game.
LUSTTAKER-
A Keyblade modeled after the hellscape of Helltaker made by Łukasz Piskorz! While a shorter Keyblade, it is designed to have great attack power and fire abilities. The hilt is designed after the start screen, with the shaft of the blade formed from a pillar often seen ingame. The Teeth are actually that of a Key found in the game as well. The token is the symbol of Lucifer.
The World Logo is...well Hell, the main location of Helltaker. The name comes from the fact that the Helltaker's main motivator is lust.
KINDA SUS-
A Keyblade modeled after the unique style of Among Us by Innersloth! This Keyblade also has a short reach (much like the Crewmates), but has high launching capabilities and double damage when hitting a target from behind! The majority of the Keyblade is designed after several minigame task found in the game such as wires, the PDA, rocket etc. The Teeth of the blade is designed after the Report command button, the best tool of the Crewmates. The token is the same keychain token found during the Insert Keys task.
The World logo is a combination of three maps, starting from Polus, with the Skeld and Airship appearing as well. The name comes from a common term that was spawned from players, saying that a particular crewmate is being suspicious.
SKULLRATTLE-
A Keyblade modeled after the unique properties of the fighters of Skullgirls, created by Alex Ahad! This Keyblade has a increase in physical attacks and combos! The hilt of the blade is formed by Cerebella's hat Vice-Versa, which then fuses into Filia's hair Samson to form the shaft and teeth of the blade. The handle and keychain is formed by the odd bone-like attachment of Painwheel. The Token is that of the Skull Heart.
The World Logo taks inspiration from the game logo, and is named after the Kingdom of which the game takes place. The name references the Deathrattle mechanic where death of a unit causes damage to the opponent.
NIGHTMARE EYES -
A Keyblade modeled after the dreams of Mae from Night in the Woods created by Alec Holowka! This Keyblade is designed to have an increase attack power! The handle and shaft of the blade form Mae's bat, with it turning it into the dream version of it. The hilt is designed after an Autumn leaf, and the teeth of the blade make up a dagger taking cues from Mae's poster and costume of Witchdagger. The Token is that of Mae's iconic shirt.
The world Logo comes from Mae's home town and the location of the game. The name comes from something Mae shouted about herself when drunk.

Old Friend: Mad Sweeney - American Gods
Mad Sweeney x friend!reader, platonic
TW/CW: Anger, mentions of violence, mentions of pollution, arguments, insults, yelling, etc.
Word count: Almost 1.8 K
I tried.
Summary: An old nature god wants to fight but has lost their will until an old friend gives them a stern talking to.
That field had once been filled with trees and animals. Now, it was almost completely barren save for the insects and grass. Thousands of trees, thousands of them, cut to the stump and even the stumps were ripped out. Thousands of homes lost and torn away by humanity. Thousands upon thousands of animals scattered from their homes and pushed out by greed, and a lack of empathy and understanding. Thousands of innocents gone, dead, or pushed out.
That was a constant thought as you sat in the empty field.
There was once a time when humans respected the earth and its bounty. When humans gave back and treated their home with kindness and respect. Those days have long since passed. Now, they flood the oceans, rivers, lakes, and ponds with filth, and they take too much. Always acting like what they take is never enough. They tear apart the land to build or to farm, forgetting the ways of old and what would happen if they went too far. Forgetting the wildfires and the earthquakes, the tsunamis and tornados. Forgetting that the earth was very much alive and willing to destroy those who destroy them.
Maybe it was time to make them remember. To strike fear back into their hearts and make them pray again.
You stood and screamed into what was once a beautiful forest.
The humans had gone so far and done so much damage. You needed to stop them before they destroyed everything, even themselves. You needed to protect what they took advantage of. You needed to fight against them.
But, how could you? Your power was shrinking. Sure, some people fought for the earth, but none believed in you. You were only kept alive by leaching from the worship of other gods like yourself and the belief of the common human held for the planet. None was your own. None knew of you. None truly believed in you, not even by faint memory. You were worse than a forgotten god, in your book. A parasite simply living because you were too stubborn to let go. Maybe it was time to.
“You seem more pissed than usual,” a familiar Irish voice said.
You looked over your shoulder to see Mad Sweeney standing there, smoking one of his disgusting cigarettes.
“Leprechaun,” you growled before turning back. “Go away.”
You could hear him approach, the dirt and what was left of the trees crunching beneath his feet. He stopped beside you.
“It’ll grow back,” he said. “With time.”
Scoffing, you said, “But how much of that is left?”
‘For us and for them?’ you thought.
He nodded in understanding. “Not much. Not enough.”
Though you fought hard, tears pricked at your eyes.
The world had once been beautiful, peaceful, but since the humans forgot, they had destroyed so much. Hell, even before they forgot, their kind seemed determined to destroy each other and what was around them.
Though you weren’t around during prehistoric times, you had met other gods a long time ago who had. They had faded away many years ago, but they had passed on their stories. Stories of hunter-gatherers and small tribes. Stories of wanderers rarely passing by each other. Stories of a world so new and a people so young that they had yet to look to the stars in search of more.
You wished you had lived during those times. And that you had passed long before this one.
There were those who hadn’t forgotten, who tried to live by the old ways, but they were dwindling every day. They tried but rarely for long. It simply wasn’t sustainable in this day and age. You blamed that New God, World for that. Then, there were those who spoke of change, but rarely changed in the slight. Those were the type of people you hated most of all.
You knew it wasn’t entirely humanity’s fault.
No, it was, but you didn’t want to believe it. You didn’t want to believe that such a promising species could be so cruel and hateful.
Humans had created a world where innocents were murdered with no rhyme or reason, where wars slaughtered millions for the greed of man. At least the Aztecs did it with purpose outside of riches with their human sacrifices. These modern humans had made a world filled with bigotry, hatred, and pain. These once brilliant creatures devolved, fighting and killing each other for no reason. They had done that for many, many years, but now, they were destroying the world around them, too.
It was the corporations that filled the world with their waste, thinking nothing of it, and exploiting the natural resources around them. You knew that. But the empty, heartless, cruel monster behind those corporations were human. The CEOs who didn’t care. The menial worker who was trying to survive in a soulless world. The executives who allowed this to go on and even encouraged it. As long as money lined their pockets, they didn’t care what happened to the forests and the oceans. The only ones who did were the tree companies who replanted their unnatural forests. After all, if all the trees are gone, how are they supposed to make more paper, pencils, planks, etc, to sell?
It was the governments who didn’t care because it didn’t involve them until they had to say something. They only ever seemed to do anything when they were called out on it. Sometimes, even then, they didn’t.
It was the media who only ever paid attention when nature struck back or when there was a good headline. They rarely even batted an eye at the beauty it had to offer.
It was the technology that caused ignorance and made people so addicted that they rarely enjoyed it unless it was to take pictures for their social media accounts or something of the like.
The leprechaun placed a hand on your shoulder.
“Are you going to do something about it? Or are you going to stand here, moping about like some fuckin’ coward?” He asked. “You a fuckin’ coward now? Is that how it is?”
You glared. “Let me mourn for my loss, Leprechaun.”
He snorted. “In the words of a wise god, ‘Angry is good. Angry get’s shit done.’ Don’t mourn, Y/N, get angry.” He took a drag from his cigarette. “You think I mourned when my people were attacked? No. I got angry and I fuckin’ took care of it.” Flicking the cigarette to the ground, he spoke again, turning toward you, “The forests are growing smaller, nature is being taken over. The people? They’re losing respect. Show ‘em why they should fear you. Make ‘em remember before there is nothing left to remember.”
He spoke of all the things you wanted to do. But the fire inside did not burn as bright as it once had.
You glared at the leprechaun before he succumbed and picked his cigarette up, stuffing it in his pocket. “Sorry,” he said.
You turned to the barren land.
“I will think about your words but I make no agreement of what is to be done.”
Mad Sweeney scoffed, letting his eyes wander over the torn ground.
“You know who’s responsible for this,” he said. “Do something about it.”
Tears fell down your face.
“They have a solution for everything. Every disaster, every famine, everything. There is nothing I can do. I want to. I want to fight back, but I am not as strong as I once was.” You sighed, pained, and looked to the ground. “Age has whittled me down. And they have grown too powerful.”
Mad Sweeney rolled his eyes. “Oh, fuck that,” he said before gesturing widely. “Without their technology, they’re nothin’. You fuckin’ hear me. Nothin’. Without the ability to work as one and without the ability to spread the information, they are as weak as a forgotten god.” Standing in front of you, he looked you in the eye. “Make the sky rain with blood. Poison ‘em. Burn ‘em. Shake ‘em to their very fuckin’ cores. Make ‘em beg and pray to the Earth, to you, again. Destroy what gives ‘em the power to forget and they will pray as they always should.”
You nodded to yourself.
The leprechaun was right, of course. They were nothing without their New Gods. Still, his words seemed too unlike him. And too much like a certain other god. Like a call to war.
“He put you up to this, didn’t he?” You asked.
The leprechaun straightened.
“I don’t need his fuckin’ permission to get yer mind in the right fuckin’ space,” he said. “We’ve known each other a long, long while, Y/N. Longer than I care to remember. Yer very fuckin’ essence is that of the Earth. To protect it is yer only reason to live. Are you really going to stand by and let it be destroyed?”
You looked at him, taking in his words. Separating anger from logic, you nodded and stared out, the wind and bright sun making you glare.
“You are right, old friend.” Your voice sounded distant as you considered your options. “But, as I said before, I am old, Leprechaun. Too old. This is a younger god’s fight.”
It pained you to say. You wanted to fight against them. To bring back the Earth’s power. The anger you had felt before dwindled. You were too weak and too old.
Mad Sweeney scoffed. “A younger god’s fight? Really? Yer pullin’ that bullshit on me? Mr Wood, or whatever the fuck they call him, left his forest behind. Most nature spirits and gods, like Pan and his satyrs, old Asintmah, Aranyani, and Grand Bois, have lost their will to fight. Are you going to do the same? You going to give up?” He hissed. “Nature is more powerful than anything humans could ever believe in or create. Don’t tell me you believe the bullshit the fuckin’ humans pour out about how they can fight nature. Look at fuckin’ Chernobyl. Look how nature has retaken it. There is no species more destructive than humans and nothing as powerful as nature. An immovable object against an unstoppable force.” The leprechaun sighed. “Take it back before nothing is left.”
After getting no response, Mad Sweeney shook his head, muttering “Fuckin’ coward” under his breath and began to walk away.
“Where?” you called after him.
He turned back, mouth slightly agape.
“Where would we meet?” You asked. “For this war he is calling.”
Mad Sweeney smiled. “House on the Rock, Wisconsin.”
You nodded.
“I’ll see you there, old friend.”
“And I, you--” Mad Sweeney paused. “--Old friend.”

omg imagine when ashley is doing that whole ritual thing to revive sal she accidentally revives his kid or some random kid from the apartments and she nows shes just fucking stuck with this zombie child 😭😭
An interesting scenerio, though it seems pretty unlikely she would end up bringing a rando back on accident instead of Sal, given that the Pyramids of Asintmah had to be assembled and activated on top of his grave in order to resurrect him. It might have been a problem if the pyramids had had an effect on all the bodies buried within a certain radius, though- Ash could have ended up causing everyone buried at the church, including every apartment resident, to rise from the dead! (I still feel like we were robbed of zombie Sal/residents/cultists and possibly a massive battle of the undead in Ch5 that would have been so cool 😭😭😭)
Side note: A woman who's dedicated her life to defeating a cultist organization who ends up adopting an undead child after accidently undeading them sounds like a pretty great slice-of-life sitcom to me ngl ('you think your kid is a picky eater...' sdlfkjdsaf)

DISCUSSION OF CHAPTER 5 AND BLOG INTEGRATION BELOW. MAJOR END-GAME SPOILERS IN DEPTH. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
so like. holy shit? i still have three achievements to get but i have a lot of thoughts and a lot i want to get into
first things first ; not how i expected salash to end up? it’s a neat fusion! sal quite literally being caught between worlds, his soul forever shattered ... i’m probably making a verse for that in particular alongside a verse in which the pyramids of asintmah(?) brought his body back entirely specifically because it was kept in tact. clearly, it existed; it was floating above his grave for god’s sake, i don’t think ash had to literally kill herself for that to happen. though, gotta admit, it definitely caught me off guard, and it was nice seeing ash’s inner thoughts and seeing how everything has been affecting her
the parallels with diane’s sacrifice and travis’ sacrifice? hOO BOY. i’m not shifting my canon that sal has a fear of dogs, because i think what he saw back then was a dog, only later he referred to it as a “dogman” because that was the FINAL glimpse he saw before dogma shot through his mother and ultimately caused the wounds to his face. it was a shotgun. that’s what scarred him. i’m probably retconning the extra scars i gave sal because my theory was WAY off on that. but like. holy shit??????
diane gave her life to protect sal, if she didn’t, sal would’ve been one of the hundreds of kids that died in the massacre. the fact he lived made him special, that’s why he was a part of prophecy! not only that, travis was a part of the prophecy as well. most of them were. travis was the child of abomination, not sally. sal was the one who was resurrected to help bring an end to things, but it couldn’t have been done without travis and the horsemen. travis likely had the psychic abilities given by the greys too, so he probably knew this was coming and knew the time for it. he betrayed the cult--”betrayer of our kind”--because he knew this!!
larry being ... like that was a little unsettling, and i wish he stayed permanently, but like. thats what aus are for right? ash and todd are still alive ... which, yay? but i wonder how ash will live after all of this ... does sal just. leave? idk?
learning gizmo was a therapy cat given to sal to cope with everything was sweet too...but god there’s so much lore that we got and so much more that i didn’t even expect i can’t tell if i have more questions than answers or vice versa i’m just really fucking SHOOK its 6am so forgive the run-ons and how rambly this is i just have to update a LOT OF SHIT because my wig? snatched!
also not to be that bitch? but i CALLED sal's initial reactions to EVERYTHING. the regret, the 'what the fuck was the point', ALL of it deadass a few weeks before so im giving myself extra rights

Back to the Story Recap: Episode 42
Ch. 42: God’s Rest
Briarbridge, Witherwoods: 14-15th Harvest 3E Y627 (557)
Previously, the Bronze Scales finally arrived into the ancient and holy city of Nymunet. In the sunstained and bronzed Solarium of Valosol, Kalvyn was resurrected, opening eyes gilded like the sun; however, death rang its toll upon him, leaving him in much need of rest.
After leaving Kalvyn to rest under the watch of Meli, the Scales explored the ancient city, coming upon the Odyssic Temple to Valtameri. With some brief hesitation, Ellory leapt into the storm, finding herself falling through a storm, miles above the water. After being battered about by thunder, wind, and lightning, she fell into blackness beneath the waves before being pulled out by Gath the Salted, Storm-Walker.
The Scales then climbed the hill of Redemption’s Zenith. There, Vesper spoke to Olivia Newdawn, bringing the feathers to the altar of the High Fane. Finalizing her pilgrimage, Seraphar Diether appeared from the feathers, proclaiming Vesper Redeemed.
Eventually the Scales made their way back to the Weary Traveler’s Inn, having a few drinks across the street before turning in. The next day, Ezekiel and Ellory traveled out of the city and into the Old Growth, where Titus Greatsnow pointed them towards the Vivus Tree. There, Ezekiel spoke to the seed of Asintmah, discovering the Circle of Stars and Constellations of the Divine Gate.
We come Back to the Story here…in the ancient and holy city of Nymunet, the early morning chill breaks as the beacon of the Sun rushes down through white clouds above. The snow-covered city stretches wide with energy and we look through the frosted window to see the Scales gathering back again. What would you like to do?

Sorry it took so long but I'm here to elaborate from a purely in-universe perspective, not touching the themes of the story or how the narrative flows, etc. Anyway, Episode 4: The Trial. It's finally directly shown why Sal was imprisoned and is, in fact, guilty, and he's sentenced to death via electric chair. Ash didn't previously believe him about any of the supernatural things happening around Addison, though it's implied she visited Larry's treehouse a few times since the massacre, unable to make him appear until she played one of his old cassettes in the treehouse. She gets a photo of him, proof enough that, regardless of Sal's innocence, his story about ghosts is true (assuming they accept that the photo is of a ghost and not just an old, blurry photo). She takes the polaroid to the prison and is unable to get the executioners attention before Sal is put to death.
I think this is the best case scenario. The cult has an insane amount of over reaching influence over Nockfell, including its legal system, who previously covered up the Luke Holmes killings and Sanderson's murder. If Ash showed up with the photo even a day earlier, I have no doubt they would have had her killed and/or replaced. The photo isn't even that solid of evidence, but its proof that she's a threat still, too determined to let live. Ash is lucky she was too late to save Sal because I don't think she ever could have saved him, and she'd likely also be killed as a result.
Also worth saying that without Sal being dead and the pyramids of Asintmah, Ash never would've gotten her "empowered" form which allows her to literally turn people to mush with a hit.
I don't think Ash could have saved Sal, and the fact she arrived when she did was probably a blessing in disguise.

Only one bad event this week. Little Bun pushed me to my limits because he was just being so .. whiny. Ornery. I tried my best to stay calm, suggest options including other activities, going to the bedroom to calm down... nothing. I snapped. Then *I* had to calm down, so he went into the bedroom to separate himself from me (I get angrier if I see him). After we both calmed down, I went to go talk to him. No explanation. He just felt crappy that day, and I get it. We both snuggled (he wanted to be quiet and held in my arms), and then went back to the living room and did his workbook. Sometimes, life sucks. We let it go. Good things this week? I bought a bunch of new items for upcycling, I ate the last of my stuffed cookies and loved them 🍪, and Little Bun is starting to enjoy reading quietly beside me while I read my books. So we need an e-reader for him now. He will take my old one (Kobo Aura) and I upgraded to the Kobo Forma. Also, lunch today is fries and omelettes. Our favourites! .. and I’m finally going to stop being lazy and grow herbs inside. I’ll need a light for them as we don’t get strong sun year round, and I’m excited to make this an activity with Little Bun plus we get to eat them all. Work is also going well, much better than before, and I didn’t read as many books this month because life got away from me, but I’ll be back on track for May, maybe. I’m also going to start just letting items go to donations instead of trying to sell them - I don’t want to during this time and the clutter is annoying me. Ring: Asintmah.
