Okay I am feeling kinda insane so I have to spell everything out
I have a theory about Lappland
First of all I'm sure she has connection to Laterano and that's why.
1) Skin
So her skin from Bloodline of Combat "Refined Horrormare". The one in which description written "The outfit Lappland wore at the Laterano Apostolic Knights' Funeral Memorial Hall.
Even two years ago , I was confused about what Lappy to do with Laterano. Why does she visit the Funeral of Apostolic Knight?
The thing about BoC skins is that they have usually heavy lore. Mountain leaving RI, Beagle dying, Executor tracking down Artoria, and past of a lot of operators. Right?
So about Lappland's skin. We see her wearing this clothes in IL Siracusana, and a lot of people, especially wiki-writers think that it is that big moment skin's introduction written about. BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.
First of all it's nowhere near Laterano and other skins if they have a very direct connection with place and event.
Also quotes in this skin
" Collect the debts, and pay the price."
And
"Is that all? That's all our lives are worth. I told you, everything you've taken from me, I'll have you repay. In full." - is quote from Lappland and people(on wiki) think that she says it to her father, BUT BUT she didn't try to take a revenge on him in event. Maybe in the future, but unlikely. She stated that she doesn't want any connection with Siracusa and said goodbye to him, not trying to hurt. Hardly counts as repaing, right?
Also also in whole even she never showed as much hostility or better say vengefulness? Even her fight with Texas felt more like friendly rematch.
And I don't think anyone or anything in Siracusa could cause her such emotions if she leaves it so easily.
BUT WHAT IF THERE IS SOMEONE IN LATERANO WHO CAN CAUSE THEM?!
So I am sure we will have Lappland in Laterano
Okay sorry moving on.
2) Her belt
Her belt has number "1911" on it and IT is a year when last Newfoundland Wolf was killed, but in contrast with Texas her family is fine. So kinda weird isn't it?
So maybe this number has a double meaning
And you know what else happened in 1911?
M1911 was designed.
And I mean Sankta's and their guns, right?
3) Sweets
It's almost nothing, but second thing Laterano is known for is their sweets and Lappland kinda mentions sweets a lot?
Her notorious voiceline with mentioning of mille feuille and which she given to Exusiai and tried to give to Texas. Her keeping chocolate (of course it's maybe more about Texas). This stickers
Kinda suspicious isn't it?
So like she has connection to Laterano definitely. But what is this connection?
Well my theory is that her mother was Sankta.
And my arguments, I do have arguments!
1) Sankta's offsprings with other races don't bear any physical similarities with their divine parents, so her being Lupo doesn't contradict this theory
2) She is one of only two Lupo operators who deal Arts damage, and she was stated to not have any training with it, using Arts with just raw talent alone in her file. And Sanktas are well known for their impressive Arts controlling abilities
3) Also the end of her file
For a long time we thought it was Texas about Lappland and about her family. But now after Siracusano we can see that we mistaken a lot. First of all she lost her family not because they are dead, but because they threw her away. Also she didn't forced Doctor to choose anything yet. Doctor even wasn't present in Siracusana. Also know I'm even doubting if it was written by Texas, because we seen them interacting in Siracusana and they are fine. Weird as fuck and deadly to each other, but fine. If Texas truly believed she is that dangerous she would try to keep PL as far away from her as possible. But she isn't
So whatever this file states it going to happen in future.
And I think she will revenge for her mother.
It is a very weak theory I know, but I can't stop think about it.
So if you have your own theory about Lappland's connection to Laterano, please, I am begging, tell me.

I'M A BIG DEAL , I GET SICK AND TIRED OF HOLDIN' IT IN . RICH BLOOD , YOU CAN PROBABLY SEE THE GOLD IN MY SKIN . I'M MORE THAN A GIRL , WON'T LET THE TROUBLES OF THE WORLD COME WEIGH ME DOWN . BUT ANGELS MAKE A WAY SOMEHOW AND IF WE FALL , WE FALL ON CLOUDS . . .
COUNTESS WISTAR ; A TALE OF : GENKAI ( YU YU HAKUSHO ) ; T'CHALLA ( BLACK PANTHER ) ; ARTORIAS OF THE ABYSS ( DARK SOULS ) ; MELANIA ( ELDEN RING ) ; THE NAMELESS KING ( DARK SOULS 3 ) .
angela basset & cis woman & she + her | countess wistar, the judicial arm member bonded with altair for the past fifty - one years. they’re sixty - six, quite a contrast to the nine hundred sixty - seven of their antlered white whip-tail. they’re known to be quite loyal and dignified, but on a bad day they can be kind of critical and harsh. if separated from their dragon, tessa relies on a double bladed polearm to protect them. | the dual blades of your battle worn polearm was born from tragedy, once existing as a pair of swords belonging to twin sisters, cursed when a single plunge baptized the two in familial blood. along the shaft sits a gilded engraving: “for nothing but death could reunite me with the one who shares my face. with every strike, with every blow, with the crack of armor and mask, i meet my match where space meets time at the edge of the worldline.” it has tasted far more blood in your hands — the kind that has stained your hands red ; your warrior spirit will live on even when you perish, your legacy will immortalize you on parchment and in stone. your father may have met his end with a reputation corroded by shame, but you honor him with a bequest that transcends the stars that you’ve flown close enough to touch ; as a youth, you were discouraged to dream. your desires were yours to manifest and capture, to claw into until crimson beads pooled from the punctures. you’ve fought for so long, blade dulling just to be sharpened again. now, you take to your judicial thrown, your dragon sits at your feet and your hands quiver, hungry to wield steel once more ; there’s a darkness in your eyes, a heat to the blood in your veins and a thirst to be chosen for battle — one that will never die ; a countess birthed from the tarnished castle of a nameless king, your father taught you that victory grants entrance into a warrior’s solace. the sharpness of your eyes, even now, is a reminder of the warning you grace all that stand across from you. “I am Countess. Rider of Altair. And I have never known defeat.”

BACKGROUND
& your grandfather is more urban legend than man ⸻ you are to address him as lord , you're carefully instructed by your father whose hands tremble when he gently sweeps the loose curls out of your eyes . you're presented to him adorned in wisteria blossoms in your hair clips , on your bracelets and woven into your dress ; the mark of prosperity for a young child , the holy to fend off the evil . the lord of cinder looks from your heterochromatic eyes to the trail of purple you leave in your path and his nose turns up . " black eyes stained with gray is the mark of an omen . do you think that your blossoms can cure this misfortune ? " your father's hands tremble once more as you return home to your kingdom hidden in the bloom . that night , you look closely at his dragon , noticing the white of its eyes and scars that line its scales ⸻ it has been worn by battle , but its eyes close and it breathes , soothed by your father's kind touch . you learn as he carries you to bed that night that your father was born with too much heart , deep feelings and empathy that the lord of cinder also saw in the eyes that you inherited from him . you hold on tight to him , your small arms around his shoulders , and promise to also find strength in kindness .
& you witness the death of your kingdom as the wisteria wilt and your father becomes ill . disowned by the living myth of the lord of cinder , he is stripped of his name and nobility . he , the nameless king of a forgotten kingdom casted in his father's shadow . you watch him remove and lock away his family crest and he willingly wipes his name from history , however , it's not until the passing of his dragon that you see him weep in a way that makes him mortal in your eyes . he dies in your arms in an empty kingdom , his precious wisteria turned rotten and lining the streets . the bitterness in your heart breaks your promise . you no longer see kindness as strength , not when you father gave everything just to be casted aside . you leave that night without looking back , your father's family crest against your chest and under your cloak .
& altair appears bathed in moonlight with eyes of blue . you hear their voice in your head , wise beyond your comprehension , seeing you for your wounded heart . you straighten your spine , trying to appear proud , staking your claim to your nobility , but the antlered dragon speaks to you with a voice that heals like your father's hands . the stone of your face cracks to match the fractures in your heart as you kneel to the dragon , hands forward as if to offer your heart in your open palms . " i am not omen nor misfortune . please , let me be something . please , show me that kindness is strength . " it's the first time you've cried for your father . it feels endless as you wail , altair wrapping their whip - tail around you .
& you're not very vocally expressive , but your actions speak when you can't find the words . you enter the city of lyria with a new surname , but keep your given name as it's meaning is something you hold close . the passion in you overflows , your motivation unbreakable . every time you fall , you stand up even stronger , whipping your bladed polearm around with proficiency . altair chooses you and it makes you feel validated ⸻ less omen and more blessed . the scent of wisteria follows you into battle as you still braid the blossoms into your hair . as you rise in ranks , enter and exit battle with hands stained red , you grasp the crest of the lord of cinder as a reminder of that of which fuels you . you repeat your father's words of victory being a warrior's solace , though as you mature , you realize that victory takes many forms . victory is the smiling faces of those that you have sworn to protect , victory is the partnership you have with the dragon that carries you through the skies , victory is the strength to pray for those you have slain despite their ill intentions .
& you are made to retire almost by force , your polearm far from having its fill of competition . taking the judicial arm position honors you greatly as you gaze down upon the new generation of young riders , the fire in their eyes bringing a rare smile upon your face . there's an intimidating factor to you now as you carry yourself with such grace and power , however , you aim to empower these new riders and continue to protect your new home in the hidden city of lyria . with word getting out that you are looking for an apprentice , the group of young hopefuls that approach you warms the heart in you that has since healed. you go to your dragon , caressing their face , lips falling agape when altair curls against you and closes their eyes . you have kind hands .
& the tears you cry this time are of happiness .

Weekly Roundup: prompts
Mahoyo
Alice reluctantly enters a political marriage with May Riddell Archelot when funds begin to run low and Riddell tries to prevent getting married off to an unwanted suitor. She and Riddell have to keep up the facade of a romantic relationship to keep up their mutual goals despite their mutual dislike and find those feelings slowly becoming more real.
Kara no Kyoukai
With the knowledge that Mikiya is the Ryougi family accountant now, please some boss/employee role play between Shiki/Mikiya
Tsukihime
Melty Blood
Considering (as far as I'm aware) we never see it in canon, a fic about Sion and Satsuki meeting and forming the Back Alley Alliance would be cool
Fate/Prototype
Alternate Ending for Fragments: Elza adopts Ayaka, Misaya and Aro, all are a family of choice, Manaka can stay in hell.
Fate/Stay Night
Artoria has an insane head game. Lancelot knows. He kinda wishes he didn’t, but he does.
Sexual assault tw, “Considering they’re the result of my being raped by fraud by own sister and we then fucking killed each other, I’m think I’m being remarkably civil.”
Smut, okay. what if like due to a long time being incarnate and maintaining a less active lifestyle, rider medusa has definitely gained some weight in particular, her already voluptuous body has gained some truly lewd proportions in her fat ass and thick thighs. and sakura is very, VERY appreciative of this. rider is somewhat embarrassed but certainly enjoying the attention from sakura. sakura/rider, lots of ass worship and lascivious description of rider's big, round, plump behind
Fate/Zero
I would love to read about genderbent Kariya Matou. I think her motives would be the same, but her interactions with the rest of the cast would be different. Her anger about the treatment of Sakura and resentment towards Zouken/Tokiomi would come from a place of how how Magi treat women in their family. It would also be nice to see Berserker Lancelot break from his madness to treat her nicely. (Worms may or may not be included).
Prisma Illya
Gorgon install shirou during heaven's feel. well it's gonna be impossible for dark sakura to do any kind of damage to him while he's currently over 20 stories tall. and to make things worse for rin , shirou's been getting some intrusive thoughts from gorgon herself ; and said intrusive thoughts can be summed up as "just eat those red idiots for mana" and "why not just crush that brat & run off with artoria?"
Fate/Extra
Gawain is living it up as a swingin’ bachelor…until Dame Ragnell gets summoned. Then he hard switches to “happily married man” and somehow get’s laid MORE. This confuses the hell out of everyone who 1. Doesn’t know them personally, or 2. Never read the story of how they got together, since Ragnell appears ugly as sin (and is at best curt) to anyone she doesn’t completely trust. Loophole; she’s never heard of Barghest, but being “Gawain” she counts and can see past the illusion. Reaction up to u.
Fate/Apocrypha
Smut, Astolfo being the world’s biggest switch and loving every minute of it. One minute they’re being pegged in a ball gag, the next they’re reaming out an ass write their foot on someone’s head.
FGO
so Chloe's whole... thing... is "justified" in-universe as she needs magic to stay stable, so she gets it by doing... that. Ergo, I want to see something where she's summoned in Chaldea and thus hooked up to a stable magic supply, so she doesn't have to do that anymore and gets to actually Process and maybe just Be A Kid instead.
Smut, You know, Mash is horny on main for her queen, nothing special about it. So when they're on the beach and Morgan asks her a little help to put sunscreen on her shoulders, Mash tries. She really really really tries not to think anything dirty but she can't help since she's touching so casually MORGAN'S BARE SKIN AND IT'S SO SOFT AND SMOOTH AND – “Thank you, my knight.” “Oh god please I need you in my pants right now.”
Sitonai is in the Body of Illya as we know, her profile indicating a good relationship with Shirou that is most likely from either the Fate or Heavens Feel route. Archer is a Shirou from a timeline similar to the route where he and Saber bond never developed to the point as the true Fate route, and among all shirous in chaldea he has the best relationship with Illya, given they lived together. All that is to say: Fate Grand Order: Illya Route, i need it pleass
Ishtar doing her best to find a way to cure or suppress Barghest’s curse…for selfish, horny reasons. Barghest is actually right in the overlap point of Ishtar and Rin’s strike zones: adorkable, eager to please, built like a brick supermodel, hung like a bear. It’s just that neither of them are into guro.
Summer Yu Mei Ren and Cu form a deep, entirely platonic bond over shared interests (read: killing things with cursed spears/camping), and Ritsuka has to reassure her that no, having a male friend is not the same thing as cheating on her husband.
Smut, Oberon and Jalter fuck. Everyone calls it the whitest boning anyone's ever seen
Smut, Melusine gets lovingly railed beach side by a group of girls, some have dicks, some don't, all that matters is that Melusine is getting the loving she deserves
Smut, I want to see Medb getting lovingly impregnated by the reader.
Gudako: *sees summer Lancelot's FA* Gudako: *turns to Mash* Gudako: "I'm sorry Mash but I have to fuck your dad"
morgan castoria or oberon get stuck watching a live action 10000000 page slow burn mutual pining fic set in novum chaldea and possibly have to restrain themselves from just going up and telling the two idiots whoever they are that their feelings are fucking mutual moron i can see it with my faerie eyes please just get together so i can live my life without reading your mind as you wax rhapsodic about this bitch's smile and sulk because you think they dont like you
Smut, Gawain/Barghest smut with Gawain fighting for his life to not get eaten for as long as he can while motorboating Baggie’s giant boobs
loli tw, One more inspired by cleaning up old Interludes: in David’s, he confirms he’s “a lure for giants.” Let’s see how this legendary horndog handles being simultaneously pursued by Gorgon, Kingprotea and Bunyan. (He would pick Kingprotea, like a sane person, if he had any choice. Gorgon is involved. He does not have any choice.)
Smut, Guda finally gets used to the fairy eyes Morgan Castoria and Oberon have, proceeds to start using it to telepathically dirty talk
i feel like everyone missed that cnoc/knocknarea and castoria had their fateful first meeting when castoria was 11 years old, i want something about this... i feel its very funny that cnoc basically decided her rival/girlcrush/best friend would be this weird little girl
Smut, unsanitary, Castoria discovering 1) what human periods are and 2) that she has a huge fucking kink for drinking period blood.
Smut, I think that somebody should fuck Goredolf. I don't care who and I don't care how, but it should be done lovingly. The man deserves it, goddammit!
Smut, Gilgamesh fucks Koshyanka up the ass. She then manifests a strap-on that’s also a gun and returns the favor. Somehow, Gil is still topping the second time.
Castoria and Caster Gilgamesh hook up impulsively and click together shockingly well, so they actually start a serious relationship. They keep it secret from everyone primarily because CasGil knows his Archer self would use it as an excuse to harass Saber again, and that would likely domino into disaster. Castoria is sick to the teeth of lying though, and Gil doesn’t like it either; they’re both REALLY good at it, but it still sucks. How will they cope? Will it all end in tears?
Smut, Yakudou trio fucking around engaging in Looney tunes hijinks leading into actual fucking
Shuten reviews various types of alcohol from all over the world.
Nursery Rhyme and Oberon have a discussion about the nature of stories and whether they truly are for the reader or not They don't have to agree, but just… something about the two living stories interacting feels… right. bonus points if, while they cant stand each other they still seem to value each other because of their natures as Living stories.
It's clear that the stress of everyday life is getting to Ritsuka (sleep deprivation, stressed all the time, depressed half the time as well). So some of their closest servants (who is up to the author) barge into Goredolf's room and demand "GIVE MASTER A BREAK!!".
Smut, MORGAN EDGING MASH PROMPT NOW?
After summoning the Fae of the Round and being asked to give an oral summary of the events of LB6, Guda simply responds with "Fuck Aurora". Without thinking, Melusine shouts "I TRIED DAMN IT" before realizing what she said. What happens next is up to the author but something comedic would be very appreciated.
Paracelsus' potion has an accidental side effect - effect is totally up to the author!
Kadoc, Mash, and Yu Meiren hang out, as the three (debatably) surviving members of Team A currently working for Novum Chaldea.
Gudao constantly lies to everyone around Chaldea, lies about how willing he is to work with evil servants, lies about liking the more annoying servants, etc. all to make sure that Chaldea is kept running. When they finally summon Castoria, they take it as an excuse to tell the truth about how they feel because they know there’s no point in lying to her.
Gudako has weird dreams, thats just how it goes. But lately her dreams have become much weirder, she can't remember much of it, but in them she seems to be talking to someone and recounting some sort of story, she can make out some characteristics, such as orange hair and light skin, but sometimes it seems like they have white hair and dark skin, but no matter what she can never remember their face, or their voice or even what they say, it feels like that person didn't exist and the dream itself is an illusion. So one day she asks da vinci to use one of her inventions to look inside her mind and see whats happening
Smut, Completely heterosexual smut involving Mordred and Hyde. ... I never said it was CIS smut, though - Mordred is a trans man and Hyde is a trans woman.
Concept: Morgan and Aesc(Tonelico?) Kick start Mash's new Saberface Harem. Platonic or smutty doesn't matter.
Guda actually became a beast of humanity awhile ago but it's only come up just now
King Hassan receives head Interpret it however you want
it is revealed via faerie eyes that the seemingly all loving endlessly patient master of chaldea CAN hate but its almost entirely focused towards columbus
Gudako, typically the giver of headpats, now gets to be received headpats for the first time.
the newest summer singularity is going to the beach that makes you old
fran 🤝Baobhan Sith having a younger version of your parent get summoned ,and holy fuck are they dorky.

thinking of the kid fic again and the reason rits is so liked dare I say loved by servants is they're a relatively normal Mage. Mages are not normal there's just some who are more normal and less of a wierdo than others, idk from what fate shows us most makes eat sleep and breathe magecraft so rits is normalish becaude she has hobbies outside of magic
Yeah. I think it’s that she’s so much more human. She’s just a kid. In fate, Mages usually eat breathe and sleep magecraft. They’re raised to be Mages. Heroic spirits for the most part were normal humans who did extraordinary things, and even the ones who were Mages were mostly from times when magecraft was very different. Now in fate, Mages are basically 1% privileged entitled shithead politician power families who think everyone not from a Legacy family born into power and riches and centuries of exploited power is Less Than Human compared to them.
Rits is the opposite of that. She’s just some lower middle class, public schooled high schooler. And a good person. Not just to heroic spirits, but to other humans. They absolutely would see someone sleeping in their car outside a 7/11 in nowheresville as just as worth saving as a dignitary at a consulate. She’s very kind and genuine and a loving person too, and I’m sure that helps, but a big part I think is just seeing a mage treat them and others with humanity and decency and respect. Heroic spirits regularly get dragged from the afterlife to be forced into enslavement for some entitled shithead mage’s pissing contest mage ritual, often forced to act outside of their own character and ethics, and are treated as disposable tools rather than even living beings, much less equals. The shift from that to “Omg Robin Hood O_O like the Disney film?? The—oh that’s so cool oh my gosh. : D You have a bow and oh wow oh I’m not sure what to say, uh you’re really cool!! I. Uhm. I made tea if you want any. Does anyone want snacks? I also brought video games and books if you want to do something fun before the mission. : )” would be a world shattering event for sure. Every heroic spirit meeting her without fail is like
I think who she is as a person is very important, but I also think just, any human mage showing humanity to heroic spirits always has a profound effect on them. Their lives are straight up hell. They don’t get afterlives and reincarnation, and instead get forced into slave contracts over and over against their will, get killed, get used, get discarded. I really like the way Medea talks about being used and discarded when she’s dying in Blade Works, because her desperation and kind of broken desire to just go home make sense so much in the context of what a heroic spirit is. Like she’s someone who betrayed her own family for a man she loved, gave up her life as a princess, everything. And was betrayed and discarded for another woman after giving him the world, and is remembered mostly for a play written long after her life, where she kills her own kids and the new wife to punish him. Reviled as a witch and a monster. And regardless of the truth, she’s dragged again and again into contracts with Mages who treat her like property and slaughter her when they have no use, and think of her as a monster. I can’t imagine the cognitive dissonance of being Medea in Blade Works and seeing a mage workshop liquefying the bodies of young living children imported from poorer countries, to make magic. Cruel, and inhuman, and not even an economical use of its own violence. And to have the people who made it look at you with absolutely surety as the monster and the witch who kills children in the room. To kill the workers there and let the kids go, and have the rights to kill you sold to another Master because you’re too evil to be trustworthy. It’s no wonder she immediately falls in love and dedicates herself to the first person to actually treat her as a human being since years before even her real original death.
Artoria is shocked by Shirou treating her like a friend and equal, and dedicates herself to helping him long past their contract because of it. Cú is so impressed by Shirou and Rin he swaps sides and is killed for them. Heracles dies horribly trying to protect Ilya because he sees a homunculus child being treated like he is. Like a powerful tool for winning magic wars, at any cost. When really she’s a living person. Archer credits Rin’s humanity towards him in Blade Works as what made him weak enough he stops short of going through with killing Shirou, and a large part of what helps him keep going as a heroic spirit after. Originally it’s just the chance to have agency to act how they want instead of just being routinely assaulted by their master and used that gets Astolfo to help Sieg, but his genuine care of them and other homunculi as people is what gets them, Jeanne, and others to change priorities in the war.
Even with FGO itself, Da Vinci is a very selfish and unattached character when she’s introduced. She is mostly helping because she is smart, it’s a puzzle, and she’s one of the idiots who lives in the galaxy, as it were. But Romani, Ritsuka, Mash, and I’m sure other Chaldea staff? Have such a profound effect on her in how they treat her, treat each other, treat other spirits? By EOR, she’s trying so hard to fill the parental and caretaking void that Romani left, and by CitLB, she’s packing you boxed lunches and saying how proud she is of you. Moriarty throws away a lifetime goal and lets himself die on the cusp of getting everything he ever wanted, so this 18 year old with the weight of the world on their shoulders who believed he was good and loved him, will be okay. You see it over and over again. This has turned into an unnecessarily long rant but, when it’s done well, I die and cry for how well Fate focuses on the utterly irreplaceable, central necessity of humanity and love towards others being the foundation for most of the hope and life in the universe. Like fucking, Apocrypha is incredibly devastating, but Sieg doesn’t think so. The only reason it’s not a worse end than it is, is he has love and faith. It makes a horror story a tragedy that might get a bittersweet ending someday yet. Salieri stays to die playing piano for people who will have never existed in two days and it matters so fucking much. The players in UBW circumvent fate where Shirou is concerned, through love. Archer is able to go on because he spoke to his child self and his wife in another life was kind to him and said she wanted him to be saved and cried. Arthur is at peace with the horror of her life because she made choices out of love for her people and is able to see that the good has value amongst the bad, because of her relationship with Shirou. Ritsuka stays and dies in an explosion at the start to FGO so Mash will have someone holding her hand when she dies and won’t be alone, and that lets Mash become the person who is vaporized at the end of FGO fighting in the temple of time to save Ritsuka, and the year of being kind to a little animal they didn’t know was sentient saves them both from death in that finale because it’s one of the evils of the universe but it succumbed to belly rubs and head pats and genuine love from two little girls and trades its life for them. Everything in fate when it’s done well is about 2 things: 1–the inevitable tragedy of humanity and having lived at all, and 2–the unending desperate hope of the potential of human love.

I think the Saber thing is more tragic because while she references SN a few times in the end she doesn't remember, because technically she died and what we summon is a proper servant who doesn't really remember pass summons.
This is exacerbated with her lines not being updated, Ishtar got an update related to Muramasa once he was released but Artoria hasn't had any update to this day, not for the pseudo servants that look like her found family nor for her knights and friends, is just sad.
This is also a part of it!
I've mentioned this before, but one of the sub-messages of FGO, if only by accident in a meta-narrative sort of way is "the value of a story".
Like, Bedivere went on his big journey as a human-- fought the corrupt Round Table, returned Excalibur, died, etc etc.
But then he gets summoned to Chaldea! Annnd now what? His "story" is over-- he can't ever be relevant to the plot again, because what more could his character do? His eternal devotion was rewarded, but his story didn't end with death. Instead he continues on as a character only seen in events, unable to grow or change as the narrative continues on around him.
Artoria is in the same boat: Her story finished in Stay/Night. She CAN'T go anywhere, CAN'T say anything about her own perfection, because her story ended. But even if it ended, she HAS to be in FGO, because she's Saber.
Even her My Room lines make me sad: She has no wishes, because she has to be the Perfect King for the game. She has to be golden, and shining, and unreachable.
Really I just wanna grab her by the shoulders and say "It's ok to be you I know you wanna go back to Avalon with your husband and eat oden please you can leave whenever you want and abandon your perfection."

what IS your favorite fic? or maybe a rec list?
Undoubtedly the one fic I enjoy the most and will recommend to anyone that knows of the Fate series is: "Fragments of Chaldea" (just search it on AO3, should be the top result)
You want 100+ different Servants developing realistically over 120 chapters?
In total, the Fragments of Chaldea series (The main Fragments Series, the Lost Shards (concept chapters that arent finished) and supplemantary fics that are too big to be their own Fragments) has a total of 2,049,162 words.
That is more than Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings COMBINED. And FoC's quality never really drops. It just keeps getting better the further you read.
I know that 2 million words is just, a lot, but ALL of it is great character development for so many different characters that never feels like "that character would NEVER do that" no. It all feels real. It all feels like if these Servants lived at Chalea that this is how they would develop. GhostXavier nails down so many different personalities and makes it feel real.
My Snippets of Sirin Schariac's life is loosely inspired by Fragments. Maybe more in hindsight. Fragments are connected oneshots as all Fragments progress the story, but each chapter is like a oneshot focusing on one, sometimes more, Servant(s) at a time. One chapter we follow Jeanne d'arc, another we follow Artoria Pendragon, another Kiyohime, another Mashu, another Hyde and Jeckyl, another Scathach, another Mozart, and so on. But they all move the story forward.
Now, Fragments is more straight than my Snippets, it barely jumps back and forth in time, so it is (admittedly) far easier to follow than my Snippets. Basically just connected oneshots is the most borrowed idea from Fragments.
Now, given that, the tag list and character list for Fragments is HUGE, too much to list here. And it is a heavy AU setting - the surviving Chaldea staff is over 100 rather than the measly 20 in canon, plus theres a robotic staff. As they explain in the notes of chapter 1: "A humanity saving organization on such a tiny staff count is beyond absurd."
So, a basic understanding of Fate lore is needed to be able to comprehend Fragments of Chaldea, but if you want to REALLY enjoy it, you kind of need to play Fate/Grand Order and clear the first 7 Singularities, the 4 Epic of Remnant Singularities, and have started the Lostbelts. That's kinda far. But that is just for full enjoyment and attention to the changes. But if you know what Fate is, you can watch a summary explaination of FGO and enjoy Fragments plenty.
Sadly, due to burnout, Fragments technically ends at chapter 116. The last 4 chapters are overviews of the planned storyline that GhostXavier had for the future and Lostbelts.
But there is still enough for days of enjoment from Fragments of Chaldea
Now, I have some other fics that I really like, but I wont go into as much detail about them here because this post is already long enough.
There is Matters of the Heart by Vengfulfate, it's a RWBY fanfic where Ruby gets a heart injury and her father becomes overprotective, which results in her running away while still young, and she ends up growing up to be far more serious than she is in canon. It also gets rid of the worst parts of RWBY, being Cinder and Salem, writing them completely out of the story to focus on Ruby and her family drama.
There is also There Are No Thought Crimes (HI3 fanfic), which is a horny FuKiMei story with vampires. Its a fun and spicy read. Instead of Honkai there is vampires and a lot of horny vampire biting.

RATS I FOUND A THING
after north-sta informed me that the demon realm doesn't have a sun (now I HAVE to give the demon realm its own species of miasma-producing carnivorous (?) plants. MAYBE THEY GLOW. That would be cool as hell) I decided to google that information and found out that nanatsu no taizai has A FANDOM WIKI and YOUR OC IS THERE?
SHE'S HERE
SHE'S RECOGNIZED BY THE PEOPLE
(as she should be. but omg I did not expect that?)
and SHE'S SHIPPED WITH THE SUPREME DEITY. This being here gives that scene where she calls the supreme deity by her name and is so salty and disrupts the ENTIRE peace summoning by arguing with her SO MUCH OF THE FUNNY. so much so that I am willing to set aside my disbelief that anyone would put up with the supreme deity for more than five seconds. like the "I'm so done with you" energy has even more possible layers now. EX-LOVER QUARREL!
this might not be fanfiction canon but Artoria dating TWO gods and breaking/divorcing up with both of them after they start becoming toxic? yes.
there are other OCs on here too. they're so detailed I am dying. THEY GAVE MEL AND ZEL MORE SIBLINGS. now Mel can be the greatest and worst big brother to all of them😭 Can you imagine the CHAOS they'd get into? I'm a little scared. People gave them SPECIAL ABILITIES that sounded so much like they exist in canon. Like I couldn't tell this wasn't the real wiki and was like what??? is this character from grand cross?? thanks everyone for submitting the ocs to the public for infinite daydream potential. where can I read this absolute glorious mess.
I sure hope the people who put all these ocs find your fanfiction because they would EAT UP that world-building and character detail SO fast. I should know, I share the same screaming excited brain with all of them. I think.
Now to discover the answer to an important question: is Zeldris STILL the "youngest sibling" in the aus where he has more siblings?
no. but the littlest sibling seems to be genderfluid. love to see it. she's also an amnesiac. more funny potential. "What's your gender?" "I don't know :/"
"I just woke up here one day and I can't remember where I came from, who my family is, or even my own pronouns. luckily I'm good with all of them"
she's got Mel's bangs 😂 hide them eyes in a serious moment
@ the girl in this fanon page. girlie are you really going to try to date derriere? I... I think she and Monspeet would end up adopting you along the way...
I don't... I don't think just one person did this. Did like 20 people collab on this. The spelling of names is inconsistent, THERE'S ONE PART JUST CASUALLY IN A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE
"a monster without pity" NOT FANFICTION CANON. plus it also said Artoria taught her children kindness like a page ago?
also g o w t e r
well. I'm losing my mind.
TLDR: girl googles something. accidentally discovers that fanon wikis are a thing that exists and proceeds to lose her mind. hope this was entertaining!
Have a great day rats!!!
THAT'S WHERE I STOLE HER FROM. I was trying to look up if Meliodas' mom had a name and she was the first result?? If I knew she was an OC then I would have changed her name ngl I like Lilith better, but we're 70 pages in ok it's too late. All those siblings were too many to keep track of so I said fuck it, real demons only.

The Six Children of Lucette and Koray
(Also known as the Six Grandchildren of Artorias)
Leofred - Technically the eldest child out of litter, having been born 5 minutes before Idmaer, Leofred is the stern faced, exasperated twin brother of Idmaer. He finds his brother’s tricks and pranks tiresome and annoying but is always willing to lend a helping hand to him if needed and will gladly lie his brother out of trouble. Leofred has a relative short amount of patience for anyone outside close friends and family, but amount endless for his family. Underneath his feelings of exasperation at his brother, Leofred holds a secret sort of pride at how cunning Idmaer is and is always quick to correct him whenever he made jokes about Leofred being the “smart twin”. He does not tolerate any of siblings putting themselves down, even as jokes. That’s his job.
Idmaer - The particularly troublesome prankster out of the litter and the twin brother of Leofred. Unlike his more quiet and stern brother, Idmaer always has a grin on his face and a mischievous look in his eye. He uses his cunning mind for tricks and pranks on unsuspecting courtiers and knights and always enjoys the chaos his actions cause. Though, not so much the lecture and scolding and groundings his mother gives. He loves teasing and messing around but when night falls, enjoys listening to his brother tell him about what he read during the day. As a sort of bedtime story type thing. He will interrupt and comment his thoughts but will allow his brother to continue. He secretly looks up to Leofred, feeling a brotherly pride at how smart his twin brother is.
Teodora - Teodora is a sweet and adventurous girl who loves exploring the castle and other places, sometimes into places she shouldn’t be. She inherited her mother’s endless curiosity and never shies away from asking questions. If she wasn’t given an adequate answer, she will search for it herself. She is usually the one to catch her older brothers’ mid prank and will gladly hold it over their heads to not tell mom in order to get them to do her chores. She is a very art oriented person who loves painting, sketching, and embroidery. Her favored subjects of such are usually flowers and plants, especially from her mother's garden. She could usually be found painting or sketching in the garden
Aiyla - Aiyla is a very active and prideful young girl who enjoys sports and competitions. She inherited her mother’s competitiveness and always does her best to win (through fair means). Many would say she inherited her grandfather’s pride. She does not tolerate being talked down to and will not hesitate throw hands with someone, no matter how big they were. She does not tolerate bullies and has no problem bashing some heads together. She is also very defensive of her older and younger siblings, often being compared to the wolf that is the symbol of their family. She loves the trips to the Royal Wood, often racing ahead on her horse against her brothers and climbing trees with her grandfather. She will sometimes lend a helping hand to her older brothers for their ideas, especially if it involves stair sledding.
Feray - Feray is a sweet and kind little thing. Due to her albinism, she was not allowed to stay out and play in the sun for as long as her siblings and was closely monitored by her family, including her siblings. As the youngest, she was the baby of the family for a long time and thus special privileges were given to her from her older siblings. She developed the same love for animals that her grandfather and mother held and adores flora and fauna and learning about them. She and her older sister, Teodora, can often be found together in the gardens, pointing out new flowers, blooms and arrival of new animal life. As such, Spring is her favorite season. She loves watching Teodora paint and often begs her older sister to give her the finished piece. She usually hangs them on the walls of her room and keeps extra special ones in her drawers. Like all of her family, she loves dancing and going to the Royal Wood to visit Great Grandma Alvina. She also loves music and is gifted with playing the harp, the lyre, and the ocarina. She often plays music for her family during the evening
Lux - Lux is the adopted son of Lucette and Koray and the youngest of the litter. He was found by Lucette in the forest during a birthday trip for one of her children. Lucette, remembering how alone she felt in the big dark forest, alone with no parents before Artorias found her; takes him under her wing. She then discovers that the child is definitely not human. His strange eyes, sharp canines, claws and especially his wolf legs pointed to him being something above a human. He was happily accepted by the family and, when Artorias got over his initial confusion of there suddenly being an extra child he didn’t know about, was embraced warmly by his new grandfather. Lux is selectively mute, preferring to speak only around and to family, never to strangers. Those who try to force him to speak to them get growled at or even a bite at their fingers. After settling into the family, his full personality blooms. He loves doing running around with Aiyla, visiting the forest, and going hunting and tracking animals. Sometimes he’ll even join in on Idmaer’s pranks and makes a good lookout with his heightened senses.

[ap:01] Mordred, good. You're here.
[mp:01] Hey, dad. They happen to tell you what this is all about?
[ap:02] I believe Mash mentioned something about a Heroic Spirit that was recently summoned. Perhaps another Knight of the Round?
[mp:02] Wouldn't they have called every knight we have if it was? Has to be a reason it's just us.
[ap:03] ...Do you think it might be an intervention?
[mp:03] Oh, totally. There is definitely some kinda ~Pendragon family counseling~ waiting for us right behind this—
[silence]
[mp:04] ...You don't think—
[ap:04] No. No. There's...
[mp:05] There's no way they'd call us if they summoned... her, right?
[ap:05] No, no, even if they did, it would be just to show us the Rare Prisms.
[silence]
[mp:06] ...Implying she'd be worth more than one.
[ap:06] Imagine.
[mk:01] Um... I think we're ready.
[mp:07] ...Ready?
[ap:07] Ready for what?
[mk:02] It's... better just to show you.
[audible footsteps]
[ap:08] Ritsuka? What— ...What is—
[c:01] I know this may be hard for you two to understand... and I just want to assure you two that everything's going to be alright.
[mp:08] I... don't get it. The hell are you talking about?
[c:02] I understand that this may be throwing everything you know out the window. That this might even be causing some level of an existential crisis. Especially for you, Artoria.
[ap:09] I'm... not sure we follow, Ritsuka. Is there something we're missing?
[silence]
[c:03] ...Do you not see him?
[mp:09] Who are we supposed to be seeing?
[c:04] How can you not see him, he's— DUDE.
[audible cluttering noises]
[audible things getting tossed]
[audible confusion]
[c:05] DUDE HE WAS JUST HERE.
[ap:10] I'm sorry... who was?
[sonic boom]
[mk:03] Senpai... that sounded like it came from the cafeteria.
[c:06] Oh my fucking god of course it did.
[audible hurried footsteps]
[audible hurried footsteps]
[audible hurried footsteps]
[c:07] I can't believe him, I can't fucking— I shouldn't be this mad, he's a cool guy, I should've had things prepared earlier, god, why did they put me in charge of this, again??
[mk:04] To be fair, Senpai, you are kind of the most well-versed in his history out of everyone here...
[c:08] Look, here he is.
[mk:05] Is that... Cat with a mountain of—
[audible scream]
[mp:10] Dad!!
[audible... whooshy noises?]
[S:01] Sorry for scaring you earlier, lady. Though I don't know if I can say the same about the other "Blue Blur" in the room right now.
[whoosh]
[S:02] So you're that "King Arthur" I've been told about, huh? Sure hope you don't plan on jumping on a horse and trying to cut me into pieces like the last one.
[audible stuttering]
[audible failure at speech]
[audible squeak]
[mp:11] Don't mind her. It's early for all of us. Pretty sure I know who you are, but literal identity theft is surprisingly not uncommon here. So just to be sure, you are...?
[S:03] I getcha. Had a plumber friend who had his body stolen by a paper ghost, once. Said it was the most horrifying thing he'd ever gone through. ...Well, sure hope I am who you think I am, 'cause the name's Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog!
[audible handshake]
[mp:12] Mordred Pendragon. Son of King Arthur. ...Big fan.

[Image Description: A traditional colored pencil drawing of a blond, Fae-derived Caster leaning against the shoulder of an Archer May King. Her speech bubble implies some kind of anxiety, which her companion merely sighs at. The drawing is accompanied by the words “Happy 25th birthday, Leo. I love you ❤️ - Vy” with the drawing’s intended date of “6/2/2022.” End Description.]
With the advent of June comes the eventual advent of Caster Artoria in NA, and since my rl Robin, Leo, has his birthday in June, I wanted to draw him something to honor that and him, hence this picture. Leo has the original in his office with all the other birthday drawings I’ve given him, I just asked him for permission to post this one picture I took of said original online for those friends of mine needing a Castoria catalyst.
When we first met in high school, Leo gave me a lot of advice and supported me, even now helping me keep my chin up when I’m down. I wouldn’t put it past the Robin in-game doing the same for Castoria, especially since the Big Robin I know in Passing Days is close to the original Blue Saber version.
Castoria needs more nice people in her life anyways. And healthy platonic, family of choice relationships are a good start, especially since Fate’s Robin Hood can canonically talk to fairies. :>

I am out there for the whole gudaguda crew, they are the reason I still play the game probably because I laughed so fucking hard at gudaguda one and Nobu wanting to turn the holy grail into a bomb and the fourth ascension implying that she's inviting you to fuck? Everything was so hilarious and they had these serious moments too as the series went on further. Final Honnoji was wonderful too from Chief retainer Mash to Avenger Nobu, to Hijikata commanding the mini nobu squad while chowing down on chilled pickles! And Mori. OH MY GOD MORI.
I cannot wait until the next gudaguda where I will expand my shitpost roster with Mysterious Ranmaru X, who I only can HOPE aids Mori in being an absolute himbo. The fact that in 5 Nobukatsu gets everything he deserves only makes it better!
I have been deprived of any Okita for too long and now I can only imagine she and berserker Nobu will form an absolute dumbass unit and watch tv making stupid commentary on other type moon properties with Medusa and Artoria somewhere in the background.
Though here is the big question. WEN MONKEY?
Oh you and me there buddy, Gudaguda is the only reason I'm even still involved here and by god is it keepin me here. And yeah! There is so much Mori family bonding time in Gudaguda 6 you're gonna be so happy, Ranmaru X is basically one of the main forefronts and Nagayoshi is a very prominent party member.
Honestly, no complaints about 6 besides having a bit of difficulty keeping the names straight (there's a lot of important names that start with Ta-) and kind of same with 5, but I think 5 might've been impacted pretty heavily by reading it off machine translations. Still though, go in with a pencil and paper for the names for at least the first few episodes, it'll help a bunch.
That said, (I'll keep the spoilers to a minimum) 5 did suffer a bit from not knowing how to properly balance the upbeat seriousness of "getting shit done" and the dramatic seriousness of "incredibly emotional turn of events" leading to both instances feeling really out of place and hard to take seriously?? But while it was hard to take the actual incidents seriously they both had really strong impacts so please just assume both points (you'll know exactly when) are like. actually legitimately serious, I know I took the first for a joke until it was revealed it really wasn't a joke and so uh, yeah fair warning there lol
Honestly, I'm pretty surprised Toyotomi Hideyoshi hasn't shown up much yet? I believe in Redline/Koha-Ace(?) he's implied to have been in the previous HGW, and we've seen other instances of him in :RE flashbacks I believe, so I know he has potential to be summoned as a servant in some regard there, I just don't know if Gudaguda 2 established that as never gonna happen due to something something final boss of the event/cause of the singularity. But, I don't know if whatever happened there's enough to stop 'em from making Monkey properly summonable (or at least an NPC), so we'll have to see. Gudaguda 4 was all-in on the warring states, 5 was more for just shinsengumi, and 6 was mori but especially tosa people, so i could see an event focusing more on just the retainers now that we got Ranmaru X and Nagayoshi being buddy-buddy siblings. We'll have to see though.
#ask#fate rambles#sorry for the delay my sleep schedule got real fucked lol#i definitely appreciate these longer asks btw so feel free to send more in if y'all want!#any chance to ramble is more than fine by me

Fanne's Fic Recs
Fate/stay night Crossover Fanfictions
I really like crossovers, so here are a few more fanfics featuring crossovers with other fandoms, this time featuring the Fate/stay night series. This'll include crossovers with other Fate media. Most of these I've found on other rec lists, so these fics may not be new to any frequent fic readers in this particular fandom, but I enjoyed these fics and want to share them anyways, haha!
Please note that not all these fics are hosted on Ao3, so there may not be any handy warning tags.
---
Crossovers featuring other Fate-related media
Avalon:First Order by FiendLurcher Complete, Shirou Emiya/Artoria Pendragon (Saber) Crossover with Fate/Grand Order
The long-separated lovers who reunited in Avalon awaken to the prologue of mankind's destruction. Prompted by the sight of Fuyuki in flames, they set forth to fight together once more.
The Only Thing You Can Change by KisekiMa Ongoing (possibly Dead), Heroic Spirit EMIYA (Archer) & Tohsaka Tokiomi Crossover with Fate/Zero
Some wishes are really more important than the others? And who has right to decide about it?Grail Wars suppose to find it out, in a cruel but fair manner. Is that so? If someone who deserved the strongest Servant got an odd Counter Guardian by mistake? If someone with a beautiful wish was just destroyed because a maniac or serial killer used a very dirty trick on him? Is this really fair?If there are no such things like mistakes and everything has a purpose? Fate brings you a dysfunctional Servant? Fate brings you despair and defeat? You are a loser from the very beginning? Is there anything you can change?Yes, there is a thing. One single thing you can change by yourself. Archer was sure of that.
Where it's Fate/Zero, except Tohsaka Tokiomi summons Heroic Spirit EMIYA as his servant.
The Third Faction by TheMaster4444 Ongoing, Emiya Shirou/Tohsaka Rin, Emiya Shirou & Tohsaka Rin & Artoria Pendragon (Saber) Crossover with Fate/Apochrypha
Zelretch is bored. So he punts his apprentice and her boyfriend to another dimension to participate in that place's 'really big Holy Grail War'. Now with strange Black Command Seals on Shirou's hand and their old friend Saber by their side, Rin and Shirou must use all their skill to win the Great Holy Grail War and go home. It's 7 vs. 7 vs. 2 as the Third Faction enters the fray.
Crossovers featuring non-Fate-related media
Heroes, Dreams, and Destiny by Lord of Penguin Ongoing, Shirou Emiya & Ruby Rose Crossover with RWBY
With his final breath, he destroyed the Holy Grail. Devoid of purpose after discarding his ideals, he laid down to die. Through the work of fate Emiya Shirou does not die, but instead awakes in a new world. Now, he who no longer wishes to be a hero will have to forge his path once again in a world in need of heroes.
Man off the Moon by FiendLurcher Ongoing, Shirou Emiya (Nameless Archer) & Fem!Shep Crossover with Mass Effect
The story of an unyielding man thrust into a galaxy of myriad grays—of questioning the past and of walking the same steps, wondering whether any answers beyond death lie at the end of that long, ever-winding road.
Shattered Chains of Fate by Lore55 Complete, Gen Crossover with Fate/Grand Order and Bleach
Through a misunderstanding and a poorly read application, Ichigo Kurosaki gets a chance internship at the Chaldeas Security Organization. It changes everything.
Wandering of a Sword Hero by A Dyslexic Writer Dead, very out of focus Shirou Emiya/Harem (it's hardly mentioned, so you can still enjoy the fic if poly ships isn't your thing) Crossover with Rising of the Shield Hero
Shirou never expected to be summoned to another world, but now all he wants to do is finish save it so that he could return home to his family. But it order to return home, he will first have to survive. First rule of surviving as a summoned hero, don't trust ANYONE. (Retiring this story)

Let me know if I derped on a link or messed up a bit of formatting somewhere! Thanks for reading! -Fanne

subsistence prep --> morgan le fay
sticking with her original subversion run, though with some minor changes
instead of being pure human, she is now a fae! her mother is a fae, but her step-father is human but nobody knows about what she is, as it isn’t something she openly broadcasts nor really cares about trying to keep quiet as being what she is holds no bearing on her life nor how she acts
26 years old at the time of subversion, she left home at 18 to pursue what she wanted, leaving her tense familial relations with her parents behind and has not looked back once
has no relation to any of the other artoria’s, save for castoria who is her biological younger sister who, while she doesn’t speak to nor keep in contact with due to her choice to leave at a young age, she still does look out for her in her own, silent way
Woodwose and Habetrot are both her best friends and also serve as advisors and editors for her writing career, they’re both NPC’s as nobody currently writes them in the group but she adores them with her whole heart
still despises bugs don’t you dare come anywhere near her with one
in regards to being sealed away, Morgan didn’t put up a struggle with her other self, as the sheer weight of knowledge of what she went through paired with the gradual loss of rationality had rendered her pretty much frozen in shock, though that only worked in the original Morgan’s favor. yes she may have whacked her upside the head to knock her unconcious but it was better to be safe than sorry
IN-BETWEEN
it took a good while for Morgan to somewhat process all she learned and what happened with the original run and there is some lingering animosity at having to be sealed away
she also can no longer look at familiar faces quite the same, knowing what she does now but it hasn’t stopped her from treating them as she always has
she has made an effort to at the least speak to her younger sister, get to know her better but is a bit awkward in doing so yet she’s trying
is still very ‘ what in the hell ‘ at her original self because man. man.
TEN YEARS LATER
has long since retired from writing books and novels, as now she mostly publishes just short stories or a compendium of short tales all under the alias of Tonelico or Vivian, she alternates between the two
lives alone in a mansion she purchased that rests within the forests in Cotes Fantasci, it isn’t particularly hard to find but it is easy to get lost if you don’t know your way inside the woods
isn’t married nor dating nor does she have any other children asides from her adopted daughter but she’s content with that choice
she DOES have a pet dog now though! he’s very big and fluffy and loyal to her and also spoiled rotten
#subsistence prep#once a fae always a fae babeeeeey#not even normal and happy au morgan can work through all the shit lostbelt morgan experienced#it's so much#always so much

An exhaustive list of Dark Souls 3 bosses I would or would not date
Iudex/Champion Gundyr
We’re starting off this list with a strong yes. Our boy Gundyr has had a hard, difficult life, and he deserves some good company. He’s tall, strong, and I trust him to protect us as we set a lovely camp site outside of the fire link shrine.
Vordt of the Boreal Valley
Vordt is big and he is feral which are truly the only two qualities I look for in a man. Together we’d be unstoppable. I mean, think about how easy it would be to go around with him: just climb on his back and let the rodeo begin, baby. This argument alone should be enough to convince you that Vordt is a suitable boyfriend, but here’s another one: if you get too hot in the summer, worry fucking not for your gigantic man can hold his equally gigantic hammer over you and cover you with snow like an italian man covering his pasta with parmesan.
Cursed Rotted Greatwood
Now while I’m certain it would be a perfect partner for some people, the Cursed Rotted Greatwood isn’t for me. For one, I am not fan of curses, or rot, or weird sticky balls, or strange orange acid, or pale white and slightly viscous hands bursting through a living tree. Secondly, I feel like the crowd of Hollows who group up around the tree would be a big impediment to our intimacy, and I’m not ready to be the mother of 20 Hollows.
Crystal Sage
No offense but you’d be an idiot for not wanting to date the Crystal Sage. All wrapped up in one package, you get a super competent sorcerer bf, who wears the coolest hat in the galaxy and an equally cool cape, and who overall looks like the upgraded version of a plague doctor. In addition to that he also has a pretty rapier so you can both engage in some sparring (which we all know is the most romantic couple activity).
Deacons of the Deep
Probably one of the worst options on the list, they’re all crusty, rotting men moaning around a biggass coffin. There are many technical questions. If I dated a deacon, would I have to date all of them? Can we go out on dates or are they obligated to stay next to the coffin at all times? Can I even date them at all?? Not that I would, because I have standards. The only pro to entering this relationship(s?) would be that I’d probably get one of their robes for free, but the cons are so numerous that I’d rather buy it myself.
Abyss Watchers
Let’s be real and honest even if it hurts. Would I date an Abyss Watcher? Yes. Maybe I’d even date two. However, would an Abyss Watcher date me? No, because they’re all in love with Artorias, and I can’t blame them for that.
Old Demon King
At first I considered dating the Old Demon King like a Russian Instagram model dates an old, rich American man: with a great deal of fake love but above all great patience in order to be the only person on the will. But then I thought about it more, and what does the Old Demon King have to offer, really? A big firework show that will leave him exhausted like the old creature he is, and maybe some pyromancies. Truly, it is not worth it, especially since I’d have to take residence where he lives, in a big old room filled with the corpses of his kin.
High Lord Wolnir
I’ve got nothing against Wolnir personally, but I have no interest in skeletons, nor in his army of skeleton children. As stated above I’m not ready to be a mother. I feel like if we got in an argument and he sighed, he would poison me with his awful breath and I would die a horrible death. Also, living on the brink of the Abyss doesn’t appeal to me that much. However I would like Wolnir to be a good friend I can talk jewelry with because let’s be honest, the man (skeleton?) is blinged the fuck out even in death and I respect that.
Yhorm the Giant
Yes, I would date Yhorm. He was nothing but a sweet, misunderstood giant who always tried to get people to trust him and he convinced me. I would put my life in his big hands. Think of the possibilities. Just like with Vordt he could carry you everywhere but in a less reckless way if you prefer proper manners. You’d never have to worry about not seeing anything at a concert. Also, may I add that waiting for you to show up while sitting on his biggass throne is an absolute power move? Yhorm is a Lord of Cinder, but above all, a Lord of this heart.
Pontiff Sulyvahn
Would I date him because of his appealing aesthetic? Yes. Would I date him for anything else? No. Sulyvahn is absolutely terrifying, completely unhinged in the most frightening way, which is that he doesn’t look bat shit crazy. I could be thinking that everything is going well in our relationship then suddenly he’d lock me in a dungeon then would feed me to his weird friend because I put a fork in the knife drawer. He could pretend to propose and give me a weird fucked up ring with his eye in it and the next thing I know I’d be running in a field on all fours. I don’t trust like that.
Aldritch, Devourer of Gods
I’m so sad about Aldritch because literally everything about him is completely unappealing, unacceptable, unnatural, unholy, abhorrent, but he has the delicate and beautiful face of Gwyndolin. While our lovely Gwyndolin looks gorgeous as ever it doesn’t make up for the fact that Aldritch devoured people and probably wouldn’t find love to be a good reason to not eat his partner. The only reason I can find to have a friendship (not even a romantic relationship) with him is if you really like experimenting with cooking and you really, really need someone to taste your inventions.
Dancer of the Boreal Valley
I feel attraction, which means that just like any other being who feels attraction, I would date the Dancer. She is beautiful, graceful, a bit feral, and would not hesitate to put a flaming knife to my throat, which is the description of my dream woman. Imagine walking the streets with her, trying to hold her hand while it dangles 3 feet above you and she insists on holding her sword, actually, so she might slay anyone who tries to approach you, which she communicates through icy breaths and murmurs. The date of a lifetime.
Oceiros, the Consumed King
Another awful choice on this list, Oceiros is RABID and also, as far as we know, still a married man. You really want to date a man that hasn’t even gone through his divorce but already looks like this? Me neither. I’m already not big on dragon fucking but the fact that he’s all viscous and has weird growths all over him is not helping. Also, he has children, and we know how I feel about that — although, given how he treats them, he probably won’t have kids very soon (too far?).
Ancient Wyvern
So I’ve stated that I’m not very big on dragon fucking. With that said, do I think the wyvern is sexy and beautiful? Absolutely so. You’re probably like « Blue you’re sending mixed signals, are you gonna date the lizard or not? » and to that I say, date? Perhaps not. I would however like to form a lifelong bond with this wonderful force of nature and fight by its side, live a long and fulfilling life travelling along with it, only to die at the same time atop the tallest mountain in the world, where our skeletons will be discovers hundreds of years in the future by brave explorers, who will confirm that the legendary songs that were written about us were in fact not just a myth.
Nameless King
You’ve just read what I said about the wyvern. I feel like the Nameless King really understands me and would respect me for that. We could bond over our love of dragons and other flying scaly beasts and perhaps share some chaste kisses while soaring the sky on our companions. It’s nice to date someone who loves pets as much as you. I feel like he would be a fun guy to hang around in general, maybe he’d let you braid his hair or try on his crown. He can arrange personalized fireworks shows for you with his lightning powers. I don’t think you’d ever be bored around him.
Dragonslayer Armor
Dating an empty suit of armor has never bothered me (see: ds2 Ruin Sentinels), however I have beef with the dragonslayer armor. Is it a beautiful armor? Perhaps a bit worn off, but the reply remains affirmative. However, it is controlled by Pilgrim Butterflies, which basically means I’m dating one to multiple of these things in the shape of an armor, and I’ve gotta confess that I’m not down for that.
Lorian Older Prince and Lothric Younger Prince
Here comes the delicate moment where we have to make a choice without offending anyone. I personally, speaking for myself, in my own opinion, would rather date Lorian. Reason: he is big, strong, and a bit rabid, which I’ve made very clear is my type. I don’t dislike Lothric, but I feel like we’d be better off as best friends who have a really snarky group chat where we shit talk the entire kingdom. That’s pretty good because if I even just slightly disliked Lothric I’m pretty sure Lorian would sense it and would not hesitate to murder me on sight.
Champion’s Gravetender and Champion Greatwolf
Well the full name is just a formality here, I’m not completely insane so I don’t want to date this rabid wolf. I feel like the Champion’s Gravetender is just a normal dude who’s a bit in over his head and it’s not his fault but he just seems a bit boring compared to all my other options. Instead of a date I think he’d be more of an awkward flirt I had when I was bored and then I came to my senses but didn’t know how to disengage, but in the end it worked out because he was more interested in his work anyway.
Sister Friede and Father Ariandel
Again a choice has to be made and I will have to be predictable and say I’d date Elfriede. Just like Dancer she’s what the woman of my dreams is made of. She’s graceful and could easily take my life and I think it’s awfully sexy of her to be like that. I think I’d be accepted into the family pretty easily, which is important since Father Ariandel cares about Friede so much. I’d go visit him sometimes, play chess with him, bring him his flail, normal interactions with your girlfriend’s dad.
Soul of Cinder
I’m gonna be a tiny bit freaky here and say I’d date the Soul of Cinder. Dating it is just like opening a Kinder Surprise egg, you never know what you’re gonna get (sorry Americans for excluding you here). That makes life exciting and doesn’t let routine stall your relationship. Every day you can wake up with the question « What weapon will my darling walk around with today? The flaming sword, or the sorcery staff? » and be surprised by the answer. Truly ideal, but I understand it’s not for the faint of heart.
Demon Prince
I’m gonna go with a maaaaaaybeeeee? leaning towards no. I mean yes, the Demon Prince is a weird fleshy flaming demon, and that may be a bit gross, but I’ve gotta admit I admire his style, the drama of it all. The care he puts into his entrance, the attitude in his moves. If we don’t date I’d at least want to be friends so he can teach me his ways.
Darkeater Midir
I have very intense and contradictory feelings towards Midir. In one hand, holy shit, absolutely epic dragon, the spirit of companionship is growing in me. On the other hand, this beast is RABID and pretending I could tame him is foolish, and pretentious. I guess in the end the answer remains that I don’t date dragons, I just want to adopt them as my extremely exotic pets.
Halflight, Spear of the Church
Yeah I’d date Halflight, I know it’s the easy answer but look at him. I mean shit he’s walking around like a little thotty with his shirt open and you mean to tell me I’m not supposed to wanna date him because he looks pretty much like a regular dude? My boy Halflight WANTS me to date him or else he would not show up with his tiddies out to a sword fight, which as an activity already has enough erotic implications on its own.
Slave Knight Gael
I’m gonna say it unashamedly and I’ll say it again: I would date Gael. He’s been nothing but helpful and when he tries to attack you it’s to help his little lady that he’s adopted as his niece. We love a chaotic parental figure. Maybe he’s a tad bit old and dirty but there’s nothing a good bath can’t fix and I’m sure he’d appreciate having someone taking care of him for once. Again, he’s got that slightly unhinged quality to him that makes him delightful. When I walk around with my partner I want us to instill both fear and fascination in people which we would be able to accomplish perfectly well.

tell me about heldolin possible reconcilliation? // @usedhearts
rubs my filthy little gay hands together. oh yeah baby talk complicated wlw to me--
So, the groundwork for this hypothetical: Our little AU for 3, where Gwyndolin is saved from her canonical fate by a daring rescue on the part of her ex-wife. The two have been distant for some decades, ranging from cool hostility to open disregard, but with that underlying air of disappointment lacing every interaction. There’s nothing to salvage, but Hel’s not the kind of person that can leave anyone to what was planned, regardless of their interpersonal issues. One fraught road trip through enemy territory until they reach safety later...
Well there’s a lot to work through. First being Lin’s lingering trauma surrounding her captivity. Her we get the first hints of reconciliation in Hel’s refusal to let her deal with it alone. Yes, Gwynevere can help, and yes, her realm is safe and offers whatever support the wayward queen requires, but no one here saw it. No one here understood what the Valley had become. Even if they have lingering disagreements, Hel is the one sleeping on the floor of Lin’s chamber rather than in her own bed, because she can’t stand to think of someone she once cared for dealing with all of this alone. It helps, in some way, because Lin does need someone there and is going through it trying to cope.
Every possible reconciliation attempt proceeds from there. Hel has gone through, well, hell and back to save Lin and is still devoted to making sure she’s safe, but it’s not romantic. It’s honestly just Hel doing what she perceives as the right thing. Whether it helps or not, or her role could be filled by anyone else Lin cared for, it doesn’t matter because she’s the one there. And like it or not, she’s not going anywhere. From this, we have a variety of options but the two I personally see working out are these:
Lin coming to rely on that, sort of clinging to Hel even if not literally. When not dealing with any official business regarding the ongoing political nightmare, she might drift towards Hel, wherever she is within the palace.
Alternatively, given the mood of most of their interactions post-divorce, there’s a chance it starts as resentment. That Lin can’t stand to be in her shadow, clinging to her in the daylight when her struggles are easier to bear.
Either way, the two are at least within physical proximity to one another, given Lin’s mental health and coping skills. Which is, inevitably, going to lead to a lot more run ins with her nephew.
Hel in a lot of ways has come to care for Lothric as if he were her own, because my God someone has to love that kid beyond his brother. Someone has to care about his wellbeing. He’s irreverent and he’s anxious and he’s struggling but determined to keep going, hardly the pious saint of the royal family’s propaganda. His wit is sharp and at times cruel, and he’s unsure about a lot of things but trying to hide that fact. Lin’s going to have to, through watching Hel interact with him, accept that her nephew is in fact more than a sacrifice -- for now. I think it’s Lin showing initiative to defrost ice queen around Lothric is going to start changing Hel’s demeanor towards her as well.
Like that’s not to say Lin changing overnight to team ‘hey yeah let’s not roast a living person with autonomy who never had a chance to live!’ is what it would take. That’d be unrealistic and OOC. I think it’s just. Hel being able to see that Lin can set aside her pride or stubbornness just long enough to get to know her sacrificial lamb as a person, as something more than what the rest of the world makes him by hers and Nev’s design. Lin defrosts to Lothric, Hel defrosts to Lin. It’s equivalent.
I think that would be the tipping point to sort of lessen the feeling of obligation between them. Maybe they can finally start talking again like people who are on at least civil terms, if not outright friendly. In my head it plays a little like their initial childhood interactions where Lin is reticent but observant and Hel is the more daring of them. She leads, and for a time, to a certain degree, Lin follows. And during the course of the narrative, as the latter grows stronger, as she acclimates herself to life outside of a cage, Hel starts to back off more and more.
Maybe Lin won’t need her so much now, maybe things will go back to normal. And instead, Lin still leaves the door open between them, as it were. Just because she’s no longer so reliant on Hel doesn’t mean she wants her gone.
Or maybe she tries to keep her distance if she’s still fighting against certain imminent realizations. Maybe she tries to shut the door but finds, as always, Hel has a key and she just. Accepts it over time. It’s her choice whether to come and go, just as she can choose to tell her to leave.
Another vital step in their potential reconciliation is that it not be built upon reliance or obligation -- now they can see each other as relative equals.
By this point Hel’s been doing everything short of actually saying the words to convey she’s not stopped loving Lin. Even if she doesn’t realize it, there’s no other way people can take her actions. For Lin, I don’t know if it’s that simple but we can talk it out next time you’re online because Christ I’ve been typing this so long the weekend is over and you are back at work. The vibe I get from your Lin is that even if she cares she’s daddy’s girl and stubborn as hell once she’s been hurt. She’s either unsure or unwilling to convey that she’d like to patch things up. Which is valid, she’s been through a lot, there’s so much to work through before she even thinks of romance ever again. She’s especially been through the loss of her daughter, and that bond comes before anything else.
(Sidenote for those who are not privy to our discord lore: Let’s put a pin in the fact that at present Lothric has decided his salvation lies in overriding his mother’s decision to just lock him in the kiln once he’s ‘ready.’ He’s seen how Hel can influence his aunt and said ‘Yes, of course, I have to Parent Trap them into a reconciliation and then Hel will convince Aunt Gwyndolin I deserve to live and Mother won’t have any allies left!’ All the while his primary lackey is just questioning what version of the Parent Trap he saw because that’s not the plot at all-- /j. Anyway there’s three idiots -- two princes and a physician -- out here trying to play matchmaker despite the fact none of them have any romantic experience. This can only end well.)
I feel like the real test is going to be whether distance makes the heart grow fonder. Hel’s got other responsibilities out there, and once assured Lin is in a more stable place, that others will be there for her in a way that helps, she has to take care of them. She has to be with her own people, has to make sure they are safe, keep an eye on the world beyond. She’s gone like a thief in the night, and Lin has to learn how to navigate the world without her, furthering the balancing act between them returning to normal. Hel rode off on her big black horse and no one cna say for sure when she’ll be back. She comes and goes through the kingdom like a storm, staying just long enough to cause problems but gone with the slightest shift in atmosphere. The horse comes back only weeks later. Its rider does not. Instead, perched upon that black stallion is a familiar crossbreed, tattered but hanging in there.
Hel saved her, at the cost of her own freedom. What can Lin possibly think about that?
So it’s a flurry of Lin campaigning for her sister to send a party to save Hel, Nev saying that she can’t do it yet, possibly as she is is too busy with the fracturing of her own kingdom to lend the men. All the same, she forbids Lin from going off and doing something drastic. Tells her younger sister to stay with her daughter and help Yorshka heal. She needs it. Which works bc we have that big dramatic Hel returning to the castle drenched in blood and falling cinematically into Lin’s arms. It’s the drama these wlw deserve.
And as we know, Lin insists on being Hel’s own caretaker while she recovers. To the point she scrutinizes every move Lothric’s physician makes in checking that the newly returned Death isn’t badly injured. Lothric thinks he stays winning because now Lin’s doing the same ‘demonstrate love but don’t speak it’ bullshit that Hel is so adept at. He’s buying his physician drinks after this despite her protests that alcohol does not sit well with her--
Hel eventually recovers enough from the strenuous battle and escape to start moving around the castle more. She confesses that, despite gossip saying this was some act of passion to show her devotion, she didn’t do this for Lin. She did it because it was the right thing to do, because Yorshka was in danger, and it had nothing to do with her mother. Something that breaks Lin’s shell completely because it proves Hel is still the woman she fell in love with. She didn’t risk her life and return the one Lin loves the most as a hollow token meant to win her heart again, she did it because her conscience has never steered her wrong.
Now try this one on for size: One day it dawns on Hel that something is missing. She tears up her room seeking it only for Lin to finally be That Bitch and hold out her exes wedding pendant -- one she found that Hel never stopped wearing, if the fact it was still around her throat when Lin stripped her of her bloody dress is any indication. Hel’s been found out. Lin’s about to start asking some serious questions.
And if one of them can finally confess at this point that whether the love stopped or never did they feel it now just as they did before, that’s not the end. That’s not reconciliation. Because the fact remains that they broke up over an act that Hel considered pure evil, when Lin helped decide the ultimate fate of Lothric. Reconciliation is going to depend wholly on how AU we want to go, if Hel and the revived Artorias are able to convince Lin that this is heinous and even if it is what her father would have wanted, it isn’t right, it makes her just as terrible as he was. If Lin can finally see to reason or at least sentiment over legacy and duty, then I can see the pair moving towards actual reconciliation and spending at least the last days of a dying world together and at peace with their ultimate fates. If not... Oof. There might be other ways to make it work once Lothric goes rogue and says he won’t be kindling, if Lin can admit that yes, that means all the cruelty was for nothing and she was wrong (like her sister does), then maybe some slowburn reconciliation could take place.
But ultimately it’s going to depend on both character development on Lin’s part, whether by choice or in spite of resistance, and Hel proving that all the things Lin has accused her of (changing, being untrue, being corrupted by heresies) are untrue. Changing and steadfast characterization in tandem. Barely even friends (after the divorce) then somebody bends unexpectedly--

How would the KoTR react to Gray from Lord El-Melloi Case Files(don’t answer if you haven’t heard or watched)
I got two of these, so I’m going to delete the other one. I'm also going to say this is after they learn about her past and not them reacting to how she looks. I'm doing it this way because there are so many saber faces I don't think they'd have much of a reaction to a girl who just looks like their king anymore.
I also want to note that I think Gray only ever referred to Waver as "Sir" in the subbed version, so I'll be sticking to that in my response.
Another thing to note: I wrote Arthur/Artoria, Lancer Artoria, and Mordred’s reactions a few days before everyone else’s. So, theirs are kinda in the form of mini fanfiction while the rest are headcanons.
SFW and spoilers for the Lord El-Melloi Case Files.
Arthur/Artoria
Oh. Oh god do they feel guilty about this. The whole reason Gray looked the way she did was because her village was trying to resurrect them!? This poor girl never had a life of her own because she was expected to live as someone else. (No, they don't see this as anything similar to what they experienced when they were alive. They chose to be king; Gray was born into this madness.) They fought so hard so people could live their lives; this isn't what they intended.
"I never would have imagined anyone would rob someone of their life to resurrect me. Forgive me."
Gray shook her head and stared at the ground. "It wasn't all bad. I was able to meet Sir, and because I had Add, I could protect him. And I met a lot of people through him too. Some were strange. Some were kind. But they're all important memories for me, and I wouldn't have them if my childhood had been different."
Hearing that made them feel better. If she wasn't sad over things, why should they be? Still, they were a bit worried about what would happen if her village ever caught up to her.
Lancer Artoria
Artoria looked at Gray with all the confidence and dignity befitting a king. "There are several versions of me running around Chaldea. You are not one of them. The things I left undone and have yet to do are my burden to bear, not yours."
Listening to that calm tone and noting her body language, Gray looked at the floor. She was so shy and timid. "I'm really not like you at all."
"No. You are a failed King Arthur." Artoria put her hand under Gray's chin and tiled her head upward. The look in Artoria's eyes was soft and there was a hint of a smile on her face, "But, you are an exemplary Gray." Artoria dropped her hand. "You need but tend to your own affairs, whatever they may be; I shall handle the rest."
"Pft." A voice under Gray's cloak spoke. "Once and future king my foot!" Gray moved her cloak aside revealing the mystic code, who continued, "Two world wars, Brexit, a handful of pandemics-"
"Rhongomyniad." Artoria's voice was full of authority and her tone carried a warning.
The mystic code fell silent. Gray looked in shock from Add to Artoria. Sheepishly she requested, "I know you'd like me to live for myself, but I'd really like to learn how you did that."
Artoria stifled a chuckle. "I'd be honored to teach you."
"H-Hey!" Add protested. "Don't I get a say in this!?"
Artoria's voice immediately slipped back into its normal deadpan. "No."
Bedivere
Good boy Bedivere is kind, but also acts like the butler she never asked for. She doesn't want to make him feel bad by declining his offers to help her, but it's very strange for her to have someone offering to do things for her. She's kinda used to being the one to run errands and do little tasks. So, instead of accepting his offers, she suggests they do the tasks together instead. They get along well. Bedivere is a people person and conversations come easy to him, which is good since that's not one of Gray's strong suits.
Gawain
Word gets to Gawain that Gray is somehow related to King Arthur. He's kind of excited by this because that means she's his kin too. He's very curious how they're related, but is fairly certain he'll never find out. Documents detailing her family tree either probably don't exist or have been long destroyed. He basically appoints himself her big brother. Of course, he realizes very quickly he can't be rough with her like he was with his brothers/sisters raised to be boys (no wrestling and what not). Luckily, he doesn't have much trouble adapting. He tries to be kind and gentle, but it kinda comes off as weird and creepy?
Gawain: If you ever need a hug, Big Brother Gawain is here. *holds out his arms for emphasis, like he's ready for a hug right now.*
Gray: Oh. Thank you. *is 100% not going to hug him, but appreciates the gesture.*
Lancelot
Okay, so Lancelot had has a body guard crush on Artoria, and this girl is not helping. Sure, he's used to seeing other girls that look like his king running around and acting differently but none of them are this cute(!?). Like, every time Gray's around, he pictures Artoria acting like Gray and then starts smiling like a doofus.
Gray: Sir Tristan, is Sir Lancelot alright? He's had that look on his face for five minutes and he doesn't seem to be aware of anything happening around him.
Tristan: Oh, that's just the face he makes when he's thinking about a pretty girl.
Gray: Are you sure?
Tristan: Yes, he does it a lot; you'll get used to it.
Merlin
Merlin is super torn. Gray is the type that gets flustered pretty easily. People like that are super fun for him to tease, but she also looks too much like Artoria. Every time he looks at her, he's reminded of raising the tiny king until she was five and then popping back in her life to train and advise her. Also, what if he says something lewd to her, she deems him a pervert, and then never speaks to him again!? That would be awful. For now, he'll just treat her the same way he does Saber Lily.
Mordred
Mordred put his hands on his hips. "I don't get why you're bothering with that hood. Do you have any idea how many people here look like father? Nero. Joan of Arc. Okita. Bitch, you ain't special." He noticed Gray turning away from him and decided to switch tactics a bit. "I look just like father too; you think I should hide my face?"
Gray stammered out a, "Well, no-"
"Damn straight I shouldn't." He jerked his thumb towards his face. "This mug is mine. I'm not hiding it anymore, and neither should you."
Gray thought about what Mordred said and slowly removed her hood.
Mordred grinned and slapped her hard on the back a few times. "Look who's balls dropped; good job, kid!"
Tristan
Gray follows Tristan around sometimes, but he doesn't mind. Gawain and Lancelot are acting like complete weirdos, so he's guessing she's just grateful to have found a knight that can act like a normal human being. He's also 100% wrong. Gray is fascinated by Tristan's ability to somehow see with his eyes shut. Her working theory is that he has mystic eyes that let him see through his eyelids and they take such a toll on him they cause him to randomly fall asleep throughout the day. She tags along with him waiting to see some evidence (her experiences with Waver have taught her to always look for proof). Also, Gawain and Lancelot know this, but they're not telling him. Can you blame them? He called them weirdos; they're going to enjoy watching him be wrong!
