What kind of artificer was Dotty originally? Also, have you tried any of the mods that add artificer into the game?
In Dottys og game shes was an artillerist artificer (with a little gunslinger in there too)
Shes a big projectile/explosives specialist
Ive looked into the artificer mod and it looks so fun but im hesitant to add anything that changes game mechanics in case a hotfix or patch breaks it
#was thinking about it for honor mode but i dont wanna have to reset the file if something fucks up#tav shit#dotty mcclain

The Legends of Apex but they're DnD
I like Apex a lot. I like DnD a lot. I couldn't sleep last night, so this happened. Some of them are based on personality, others on mechanics. Some of them also get subclasses because fuck you, I make the rules. Read on at your own risk.
Bloodhound. A lover of nature and beasts, and an expert tracker. Bloodhound is a RANGER.
Gibraltar. Incredibly tough to hit, wields a shield, and can unload massive damage when needed. Gibraltar is a PALADIN.
Lifeline. A medic, but not the best medic. Reliable healing with the ability to revive while still fighting. Lifeline is a DIVINE SOUL SORCERER.
Pathfinder. Incredibly mobile. Likes to push fights quickly, but can disengage just as quickly. Is into hand to hand combat. Pathfinder is a MONK.
Wraith. Gained the ability to travel between dimensions. Harnesses a power that is now innate. Wraith is a SORCERER.
Bangalore. Boring at first glance, but full of interesting potential when you really take a minute to think about it. Was a soldier. Bangalore is a FIGHTER.
Caustic. An incredibly intelligent individual who is very good at making alchemical substances. Caustic is an ALCHEMIST ARTIFICER.
Mirage. Tries a little too hard to be funny, but is genuinely charismatic. Likes to be the center of attention, but is still quite intelligent. Mirage is a BARD with the Artificer Initiate feat. (He could also be a Trickery Cleric, depending on if you value personality or ability.)
Octane. Reckless, aggressive, and fast. Fight first, think later. Octane is a BARBARIAN.
Wattson. An electrical genius who uses their inventions to gain the upper hand. Wattson is an ARTIFICER.
Crypto. The poster boy of edgy backstories that the DM had to go through great lengths to un-edge. Incredibly paranoid. Crypto is a ROGUE.
Revenant. Sneaky and stabby. Revenant is also a ROGUE. (An Assassin Rogue, to be precise.)
Loba. Sneaky and steal-y. Loba is also also a ROGUE (A Thief Rogue, to be precise.)
Rampart. She makes things by hand and kills things by hand (using the things she made by hand). Shiela is literally an Eldritch Cannon. Rampart is an ARTILLERIST ARTIFICER.
Horizon. Arguably the most intelligent Legend in the games. Clearest proficiencies are in gravitational science and related fields. Likes to create black holes. Horizon is a SCHOOL OF GRAVITURGY WIZARD.
Fuse. Sold his soul for fame and fortune. Has a projectile weapon that never runs out of uses and does good damage. Fuse is a WARLOCK.
Valkyrie. Chaotic as hell. Wants to seduce everyone. Successfully injected herself into a blossoming relationship and faced no consequences. Valkyrie is a BARD.
Seer. A cursed child who isn't actually cursed. Defined by the events of his birth, which spawned a legend not necessarily deserved. Seer is a SORCERER.
Ash. A trained fighter who prefers swords over guns. Incredibly skilled at murder, but can also tear through space, appearing to be in two places at once. Ash is an ECHO KNIGHT FIGHTER.
Maggie. Will fight anyone and anything at anytime. When she rages, no one is safe. Maggie is a BERSERKER BARBARIAN.
Newcastle. Will protect you and pick you up if you fall. Has a shield, and knows how to use it. Kind of a dork, but in a good way. Newcastle is a CLERIC.
Catalyst. An area control specialist who's very in-tune with nature, astrology, and spirituality. Catalyst is a CIRCLE OF THE STARS DRUID.
Vantage. A long-range sniping specialist with an animal companion. Vantage is a BEAST MASTER RANGER.
Ballistic. A master of arms with a knack for poetry and the classics. A refined man with refined taste and did I mention a whole lot of guns. Ballistic is a SAMURAI FIGHTER.

The latest LOA update in KR features a new line of legendary skins. Images below the cut.
Warrior
Thoughts: I like the paladin skin the best personally. The Gunlancer is okay too. The rest of kinda bland, imo.
Martial Artist
...and of course we get another stupid underboob skin. Christ. The Glaivier skin is kinda pretty, though.
Gunner
The Deadeye and Artillerist skins are probably my favorites, but, honestly, a lot of the gunner skins look really similar after awhile. Like, Smilegate, please move away from the bland paramilitary theme for the male gunner skins for once and shake it up a bit. Why can't my Artillerist wear a hot little number with a plunging neckline and thigh-high, high heeled boots for once?
Mage
PWETTY DWESSES! This line is my favorite of the bunch.
Assassin
The Shadowhunter skin is pretty. I also like the Souleater gothic skin too. Cute and interesting...unlike that one skin that is basically underwear. I really hate these coomer game devs sometimes. *sigh*
Specialist
Not feeling the Artist skin, but the Aeromancer skin is super cute. I love the fairy look.

Who are you currently playing?
I'm in a few games so here are my active blorbos:
Denbora Beltune, drow chronurgy wizard in a very homebrew curse of strahd game. Currently being tormented by The Horrors:tm: but its okay bc he looks amazing
Sorrel, warforged light cleric from a homebrew game. He's 3 years old and god's most specialist little guy. Only ever gets divine intervention when its for the bit.
Rowlin Bronzefeather, owlin artillerist artificer in a sky pirate game. "No Fun Allowed" kinda guy, cares only about himself and his robot child, Piper (another pc). The worlds gayest straight man.
Darius, wood elf (reborn) monster slayer ranger in a VRGR/COS game. The most saddest man you've ever seen in your life. Very competent ranger, the worst at talking to people (7 charisma). He's also the groups straight man but its more like herding cats who want to jump into lava. Hes so tired and disheveled at all times.
Eeriuff, chaos-touched werewolf barbarian in a pathfinder 2e game. Imagine the edgiest werewolf character possible. Then slap wings on that bad boy. Thats him. He loves violence and killing and I'm sure that won't become an issue when the eldritch horrors get him :)
Mortis, winged tiefling necromancer wizard. Very heavily fiendish, got that bone devil swag. The most pathetic wizard you've ever seen, but thinks he's hot shit despite struggling with 2nd level spells. Has a rivalry with a sorcerer who doesn't even know he exists.

My cool ass dnd characters
Character #18: Danxin Cangni
Class: Artificer
Subclass: Artillerist Specialist
Species: Kobold
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Personality: Asocial, snarky, sarcastic, introverted, untrusting and also a total nerd. He's also pretty noble, he has honor, but he's hard to get to. He hates when people touch his stuff.
Appearance: A small weak and frail red kobold that wears a trenchcoat and very light clothes underneath. Their trenchcoat has everything that they use as ammunition or otherwise. He always looks mad and is always at least a bit dirty.
Stats:
Strength: Low
Dexterity: High
Constitution: Low
Intelligence: High
Wisdom: Above Average
Charisma: Medium
Age: 10
Where did you get your powers? From my intellect and desperation.
Gender/Pronouns: Nonbinary. He/Them
Sexuality: AroAce
Backstory: Kobolds are hated. Living in the outskirts of sewers, Danxin lived a typical life of a kobold, rejection, isolation and fear. All that changed when they started tinkering with various materials they scavenged. They thought they might be able to sell their magical items to the surface dwellers, finally they'd be able to slowly help their family live in the surface, even if everyone else rejected them, money can easily change people and they will be able to roam the surface and no longer will they have to resort to crime.
Roles: Blaster, Striker, maybe scout and utility?
Conclusion: Kobold, with a twist! Smart and dexterous, but kinda an asshole. He seems cool to roleplay and although kinda a simplistic character, his dark barkground I think is really good.

Names for Unnamed DnD Subclass Categories
Bard Subclasses are Colleges, Wizards have Schools, Paladins have Oaths, Druids have Circles, Clerics have Domains. But a few go unnamed: The Artificer (which is called Specialist but that doesn’t really fit the flow of the other names) while Rogue and Fighter have to make do with “Archetype”. So, I’m going to give them names.
ARTIFICER
The Artificer gets Guild. I would have gone with Field, but Artificer subclasses are singular personal titles: Artillerist, Alchemist, Armorer. Not Artillery, Alchemy, Armory. So the Alchemist Guild, the Guild of the Artillerist, The Guild of the Battle Smith Artificer, however you choose to say it. It makes Artificers sound like a group of trained specialists in a specific field of study.
ROGUE
The Rogue gets Society. The Society of the Thief, the Society of the Arcane Trickster, the Society of the Assassin. It conveys them as a clandestine assembly of likeminded folks, and has historically been appropriated by petty criminals and organized crime alike.
FIGHTER
The Fighter gets Order. In medieval times, a small group of knights was called a Lance, while a large group of knights was called an Order. So, Fighters would take the larger option. So, we end up with the Order of the Battle Master Fighter, Order of the Rune Knight Fighter, and the Order of the Cavalier Fighter.

can you tell us more about the fruity fours DND charecters? thx!
yes ofc o/ everythings using 5e stuff bc thats what i play lmao
I considered making full character sheets for everyone but uhhh. No i dont wanna do that rolling characters is my least favourite part of character creation I didnt wanna do that so anyway!!! I imagine them all around level 10
Theyr're all from the same town (Fantasy hawkins idk)
Steve
Human, Level 8 protection specialty fighter, level 2 barbarian (enough to give him a rage, but not enough for him to get a subclass) Has a noble background, definitely playing up that the harringtons are from some sort of gentry.
Knew Nancy first, they did date previously but decided they were better off as friends. Later
Ran away after like months of just talking about it to the fruity crew so they could adventure. could probably add Dustin in as having encouraged him to improve himself. Dustin deffo is waiting to be old enough to join their party and demands they send him letters every now and then with updates and ensurances that theyre all ok. (mean time he does play adventuring with the other kids in fantasy hawkins)
typical steve
Robin
Half-Gnome, Level 6 Illusion school wizard, Level 4 College of Lore Bard. Couldn't think of a super apt background for her, so probably just the entertainers background!
Still very much has her height from her human parent, with some gnomish features (ears/ tail/ habit of talking a mile a minute). Eager to be out and moving at all times. Knew Eddie first, just the same loser vibes and went to the same bard classes before she decided to pursue wizadry more.
Met Steve , had gotten into trouble with some out of town mercenaries and Steve came to defend her (literally the Russian hostage from the show bonding for their best friendship). They're then joined at the hip and they each bring Nancy and Eddie into the hang outs respectively.
Nancy
Half-Elf (Karen is a Wood Elf, Ted is a human lmao), she's a level 4 artillerist artificer, and a level 6 close quarters specialist Ranger. She has the investigator background!
High intelligence, has a knack for coming up with creative solutions to problems and built her own gun in a fantasy world because shes just like that. Best in the party for discovering whats really going on, other members are maybe more focused on what is happening but she's really there for Why it's happening. she deffo has a tendency to get lost in her own research and relys on the other party members to bring her up for air, the brains of the party for real.
Dated steve in the past, but it was more bc she felt like she should. Adventuring bc she wants to do what she wants to do, very close to robin wink wonk. Happy to be living her life
Eddie
Teifling, (uncle wayne is human) had no idea he was a teifling until he was 14 and his horns started growing in (Yes i am taking this straight from fig faeth). Level 8 college of spirits bard, level 2 rogue.
When his horns came in he was near chased out of town, teiflings aren't common in the area. His uncle wayne stood up for him and they live in a small hut just outside of town where eddie deals fantasy drugs and performs stories and songs for the kids in town when he can.
Begrudgingly trusted robin enough to meet steve and nance and was pleasantly surprised when they were actually really cool and fun to hang out with. dreamed about leaving town to adventure as a party and brought it up to everyone first.
ofc steddie and ronance end game, but when they leave town theyre all just friends
#tigerphantom talks#if i dont know what to call something in the dnd i just had fantasy infront of it its what i was taught in taz#stranger things dnd

i colored them in :) finally back on a computer
if youre wondering about abba and fugo, theyre right here. i just needed to color these sketches because give me references or give me death.
more info about this au under the cut!!
Bruno Bucciarati, Triton Paladin (Oath of Vengance).
uses a trident! or a net? regardless, he's from a triton town on the coast. in 5e, paladins get their magic from oaths, not deities like clerics would. plus, sticky fingers helmet!!
Giorno Giovanna, Dhampir Druid (Circle of Dreams)
he looks like an elf, or some type of fey at least. dio would be the BBEG of the previous campaigns, lots of potential there. also, dreams, giogio, insert haha funny.
Guido Mista, Halflin Artificer (Artillerist Specialist)
ok, so you know how mista was just like some guy? yeah here he's a halfling toymaker and that's what the sex pistols are. magic toys.
Narancia Ghirga, Half-Elf Ranger (Hunter Conclave)
he ran away into the woods after his human mother died, and aerosmith is a falcon, yeah.
Trish Una, Satyr Bard (College of Glamor)
her mother is a satyr as well, but diavolo was a tiefling. she sings, and magic comes out, probably a lower level than the rest of the party.
(not pictured, head to the link to see the designs)
Leone Abbacchio, Tiefling Rogue (Inquizitive Archetype)
i had a brain moment when thinking about Abbacchio's class, ngl. look, abbacchio would make this character, and it fits him SO WELL.
Pannacotta Fugo, High Elf Wizard (School of Evocation)
deadly killer virus, anger management issues. evocation wizard. one of two characters who has gone to school and finished it.
you know how it is. uh. I'm going to do more of this. ok

I was painting this man's coat, poking at details, and tweaking his single visible lip for 8 HOURS, but I am so happy with how it came out: my brothers PotA character, Durragunn Frozleet, Artillerist Artificer and demolition specialist

the original design:

happy sleepover saturday sola!! hope u had a good day :) for the dnd asks: 10, 12, 18 and for all your characters 26 & 27 !!
i did have a good day ty leo!! right back atcha i hope u've had a lovely one <3
10 - How do you come up with characters?
usually world (eg. where do i want them to come from, what’s a part of this world i want to explore?) > class/subclass > vibes > backstory > other parts of build
so thi was “i want to play an ashari bc arlowe’s mentioned there’s something up with them in ehas” > ashari are nature-y vibes, let’s go ranger or druid > swarmkeeper sounds cool > warforged full of bees > their dad found and built her, why they’re leaving the wastemarsh, etc.
12 - What’s your favorite part of playing DND?
not to be cliche, but hanging out with my friends and spiralling about stories told for an audience of six people.
18 - Do you prep for sessions?
YES!
way before session - for ehas, i usually post my notes from last session (i take notes on paper, then type them up as a gdoc and share to our discord) which helps refresh what’s going on. i also have an ongoing to-do list of miscellaneous things - conversations i want to have, bits of dialogue, things my character is keeping in mind. tâm and ari in wandering isles had a BIG unrequited love confession/rejection moment and i had been planning some of those lines since pre-campaign. these are mostly 3am thoughts that i remember to write down.
right before session - does setup count as prep? open all my tabs (wikidot for class/subclass, character doc, character sheet, sometimes worldbuilding doc if my dm has one). make sure avrae has the current version of my character sheet and spells. if we’re in combat, i have a quick reference post-it that i usually write before session (eg. reminding me to add add 1d4 favored foe and 1d6 swarm damage to thi’s first hit, “you have bardic,” # of attacks). if i have a reaction ability, i liked having a piece of paper that says “no reaction/yes reaction” on either side that i turn over so i remember if i’ve used it. check which dice are rolling hot, get my notes out.
putting the character q’s under the cut bc this got long!
26 - What kind of music would they like? (answering the following for my campaign characters since they're more fleshed out <3)
tâm likes brian david gilbert's castle chase playlist, like upbeat genre-funky fantasy music. kima likes maritime folk/work songs (predictably; they're literally a pirate dockworker). thi likes ethereal-sounding irish trad with lots of improv/variations - if they could breathe they'd probably play the whistle or something. sum likes metal, because i think i'm funny.
27 - What three songs remind you of them?
answered for sum, so:
tâm - free - mother mother. featherstone - the paper kites. love you back - metric.
kima - bones in the ocean - the longest johns. fingers to the bone - brown bird. easy come, easy go - the decemberists.
thi - here i am - the crane wives. temple - thao. is there anyone out there - delta rae
and some single songs for oneshot characters:
miya (artillerist/arcane trickster pirate airship technologist) - the specialist - will savino
canto (rune knight tinkerer gnome) - we all lift together - keith hammer
nesse (arcane archer fantasy megafauna biologist) - misty forest - louie zong
cat (arcane archer trigger happy rabbitfolk) - bang - ajr
antimony (standoffish air genasi inquisitive) - transparent soul - willow
#sola answered#weightedlive#sola said#good lord this is long. sorry leo i'm full of thoughts#sleepover saturday#i'm not tagging all these guys though. gah#dnd

Now that I’ve read six of crows I want to reconsider my DnD builds for these characters.
Jesper: Gunslinger Fighter with a level in forge domain cleric but he never casts any spells and pretends he doesn’t know how to. Has the sharpshooter feat and the lucky feat but has never once remembered to use the second one.
Inej: Assassin Rogue with expertise in stealth and acrobatics. Has the Mobile and Skulker feats, and took the Entertainer background. Has an absolutely maxed out dex score.
Kaz: Mastermind Rogue with expertise in intimidation and sleight of hand. Took the burglar and skill expertise feats so that he could also have expertise in thieves tools and deception. Has the Haunted One background but continually tells everyone he took Urchin
Nina: Life Domain Cleric who prefers to prepare offensive spells rather than healing spells. “Who needs to prepare cure wounds when you could have INFLICT WOUNDS.” She switches to the Death domain after taking parem. Also has the linguist feat.
Matthias: Multiclass Champion fighter and Barbarian, Totem of the Wolf with the soldier background. Leans heavy into roleplaying his lawful alignment.
Wylan: Artificer who’s an Artillerist specialist. Has the noble background but asked to swap out the gaming set proficiency for a musical instrument proficiency so he could have a flute.

My D&D 5e Build for Hordak
@firapolemos05 requested Hordak, I did some digging and thinking and came up with a build for this character. My judgement is based on what we’ve seen in the show and what I think suits his character best. Feel free to agree or disagree with this build or come up with one of your own.
Hordak, a member of a clone army that was rejected by his creator for having a defect in his cloning. He was sent on a suicide mission only to find himself taken through a portal and crash landing on Etheria. With the remains of a broken ship, he launched an Empire, taking over lands and territory and building his own army in the hopes of proving himself to Horde Prime. He serves as the main antagonist for most of the series before Horde Prime takes his place.
Long Post Below
***Stats***
Intelligence: Top stat. Hordak has a technological mind. He’s built machines, weapons, and portals and is one of the most intelligence characters in the series.
Strength: Second Highest. Reason being that we’ve seen him life heavy machinery in building the portal and throwing a slab of metal across the room. And he managed to push a huge beam off himself when it fell on him.
Constitution: Third Highest. I had thought of putting this lower on the list due to his chronic illness, but he did survive was having a crane fall on him and is managing to fight despite the illness.
Dexterity: Fourth Highest. Hordak can be quick when the needs aride.
Wisdom: Fifth Place. Hordak needed Double Trouble’s help to see through Catra’s lies about what happened to Entrapta.
Charisma: Dump state. Get. out! Hordak isn’t the most charming character in the series.
***Race***
I considered going with Variant Human again, but I just discovered the Gith- Githyanki race which I believe would suit Hordak better.
He automatically gets +1 to Intelligence and +2 to Strength.
Choose Arcana to be Proficiency skill. Hey, he must have taken time to study Etheria’s magic at one point and he has Entrapta helping him out.
Also, Hordak starts off knowing the Mage Hand cantrip.
Choose the Soldier background: This nets Hordak a Proficiency in Athletics and Intimidation.
Okay, after some thought and consideration, I’ve decided to start Hordak off as a Barbarian.
The reason for this when Hordak get’s angry, he can become quite dangerous and resilient to damage.
***Barbarian Level 1***
Hordak gets the Rage ability:
- advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws. - A melee weapon attack using Strength, gains a bonus to the damage roll - resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
Unarmored Defense - armor class equals 10 + Dexterity + Constitution. His suit is more of an exo-skeleton for his health condition. And his dress is a bit revealing.
For Skills choose Perception and Survival. The first few years after crashing on Etheria must have been rough at the start.
***Barbarian Level 2***
Hordak receives Danger Sense : Has advantage on Dex saves against effects he can see such as traps and spells. He’s been fighting magical princesses for years, however he can’t use this ability if he is blinded, incapacitated, or deafened.
Reckless Attack: For the first attack on his turn, he can choose to attack with advantage with melee weapons using Strength, but attack rolls against him will be at an advantage until his next turn.
***Barbarian Level 3***
Barbarians can choose a Primal Path. For Hordak, reveres Horde Prime and conquers Etheria in his name, the Primal Path for him would be Path of the Zealot.
Divine Fury: when Raging the first creature Hordak hits on each of his turns with a weapon takes extra damage equal to 1d6 + half Barbarian level. Choose Necrotic damage he is fighting in the name of an evil cult leader.
Warrior of the Gods: Hordak is easier to raise from the dead. If any spell cast to restore life to Hordak doesn’t need any components. That’s the advantage of a having a devoted hi-tech wife.
***Barbarian Level 4***
Ability Score Improvement: Put the points into Intelligence to max it out. I know Strength is important for a Barbarian class, but there is a method to my madness.
***Barbarian Level 5***
Extra Attack: Hordak can make two attacks when he takes the attack action.
Fast Movement: His speed increases by +10 feet when he isn’t wearing heavy armor.
***Barbarian Level 6***
Path of the Zealots gives Hordak Fanatical Focus which allows to reroll a failed saving throw while Raging, but must take the new roll. Ability can only be used once per Rage.
Now you’ll see the method in my madness with a high intelligence score.
We’re going into Artificier, a class the melds magic and technology, which he learned from Entrapta and from studying Etherian magic and First Ones Tech.
***Artificer Level 1***
Talk to your DM about the Optional Firearm Proficiency. If they agree, then Hordak has a proficiency in firearms, such as laser cannons!
Being an Artificer gives Hordak Magical Tinkering: Hordak’s Tinker Tools come into play which allows him to create a spark of magic in a Tiny nonmagical object with a magic effect such as giving off light, playing a recorded message (Like the Imp), etc.
Hordak is able to use his Intelligence to create magical effects in objects through spellcasting, but use his tools to do so. So choose plenty of offensive spells for Hordak to use against Princesses. I would recommend for cantrips:
Acid Splash: You hurl a bubble of acid. Choose one creature within range, or choose two creatures within range that are within 5 feet of each other. A target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d6 acid damage.
Fire Bolt: You hurl a mote of fire at a creature or object within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d10 fire damage. A flammable object hit by this spell ignites if it isn’t being worn or carried.
For 1st level spells:
Absorb Elements: The spell captures some of the incoming energy, lessening its effect on you and storing it for your next melee attack. You have resistance to the triggering damage type until the start of your next turn. Also, the first time you hit with a melee attack on your next turn, the target takes an extra 1d6 damage of the triggering type, and the spell ends. (Good for when he goes into melee against elemental Princesses).
***Artificer Level 2***
Infuse Item: Hordak can Imbue mundane items with magical infusions. At this level you can choose up to 4 infusions to know, but can replace one of them at each level.
Choose:
Enhanced Defense: Needs a suiit of armor or shield to grant a +1 bonus to Armor Class while wearing (armor) or wielding (shield) the infused item.
Enhanced Weapon: Needs a simple or martial weapon to grant +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it.
Enhanced Arcane Focus: Needs rod, wand, or staff (requires attuning) a creature gains +1 bonus to spell attack rolls.
Replicate Magic Item : Any item of your choice to replicate.
***Artificer Level 3***
The Right Tool for the Job : with tinker's tools in hand, Hordak can magically create one set of artisan's tools when needed.
Now Hordak can receive an Artificer Specialist. Take Artillerist.
Tool Proficiency: Gain proficiency with Wood Carver tools, but to better fit Hordak’s character, I would go with Smith’s Tools if the DM allows it.
Hordak gains 2 additional spells.
Shield: An invisible barrier of magical force appears and protects you. Until the start of your next turn, you have a +5 bonus to AC
Thunderwave: A wave of thunderous force sweeps out from you. Each creature in a 15-foot cube originating from you must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 2d8 thunder damage and is pushed 10 feet away from you. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn’t pushed.
The golden part of this level is Eldritch Cannon. Hordak can create small or tiny canons. Think Horde Robots. They can have one of three effects: Flame Thrower, Force Ballista, and Protector.
***Artificer Level 4***
Ability Score Improvement: Max out Intelligence to attain more spells and make them more powerful. If Intelligence is already maxed out, you can put them into Strength so Hordak can hit harder when in melee or you can round out the other ability scores.
***Artificer Level 5***
Arcane Firearm: Hordak can turn a rod, wand, or staff into an Arcane Firearm (such as an Arm Cannon) to case offensive spells. Doing so gives a 1d8 bonus damage to spells. If the spell hits multiple targets, choose one to take the bonus damage.
Hordak can now use 2nd level Artificer spells. I recommend:
Heat Metal : Hordak can cause a metal object (armor for example) to glow red-hot. Any creature in physical contact with the object takes 2d8 fire damage when you cast the spell. Until the spell ends, you can use a bonus action on each of your subsequent turns to cause this damage again.
Also Artillerist gains two additional spells.
Scorching Ray: You create three rays of fire and hurl them at targets within range. You can hurl them at one target or several. Make a ranged spell attack for each ray. On a hit, the target takes 2d6 fire damage.
Shatter : A sudden loud ringing noise, painfully intense, erupts from a point of your choice within range. Each creature in a 10-foot-radius sphere centered on that point must make a Constitution saving throw. A creature takes 3d8 thunder damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. A creature made of inorganic material such as stone, crystal, or metal has disadvantage on this saving throw.
***Artificer Level 6***
Tool Expertise: proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses your proficiency with a tool.
Also, Hordak gains two additional Infusions.
Pick Homunculus Servant so Hordak can create his own Imp, a tiny construct that obeys commands. Repulsion Shield : grants a +1 bonus to AC when using this shield. Also has 5 charges to push an attacker back 15 feet as a reaction to being hit by melee weapon.
***Artificer Level 7***
Flash of Genius: As a reaction, Hordak can add his intelligence modifier to an ability check or saving throw of a ceature within 30 feet of him.
***Artificer Level 8***
Ability Score Improvement: By now Intelligence should be maxed. Put points into Strength if you are having Hordak wade into melee battle. And/Or, you could get the War Caster feat which will make it easier for Hordak to cast and maintain spells in battle.
***Artificer Level 9***
Explosive Cannon: Eldritch Cannons now cause more damage with additional 1d8 damage and Hordak can have them self-detonate for 3d8 force damage on a failed Dex save.
Hordak can now use 3rd level spells.
Dispel Magic: Choose any creature, object, or magical effect within range. Any spell of 3rd level or lower on the target ends. For each spell of 4th level or higher on the target, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC equals 10 + the spell’s level. On a successful check, the spell ends. (Hordak must have been studying a means to remove magical effects, plus this spell is super useful).
Plus being an Artillerist grants two additional spells.
Fireball: A bright streak flashes from your pointing finger to a point you choose within range then blossoms with a low roar into an explosion of flame. Each creature in a 20-foot radius must make a Dexterity saving throw. A target takes 8d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The fire spreads around corners. It ignites flammable objects in the area that aren’t being worn or carried.
Wind Wall: A wall of strong wind rises from the ground at a point you choose within range. When the wall appears, each creature within its area must make a Strength saving throw. A creature takes 3d8 bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
***Artificer Level 10***
With Entrapta’s help, Hordak can become a Magic Item Adept: he can attune up to four items at once instead of just two. And it takes a quarter of the time to craft a common or uncommon magical item and doing so costs half the gold.
And Hordak can learn two more Infusions.
Spell-Refueling Ring (Unearthed Arcana) - A ring that can recover expended spell slots. (Hordak can keep throwing spells back at Princesses)
Mind Sharpener (Unearthed Arcana) - Robes (or armor) that can allow the wearer to maintain a spell as a reaction if they failed a constitution check.
***Artificer Level 11***
Spell-Storing Item: Hordak can store a 1st or 2nd level spell inside an item for a creature to use
***Artificer Level 12*** Ability Score Improvement: Intelligence should be maxed. Strength should be maxed. Also round out any Ability Scores. Or you can get the War Caster feat.
***Artificer Level 13*** 4th level spells are now available. I recommend:
Arcane Eye: You create an invisible, magical eye within range that hovers in the air for the duration. You mentally receive visual information from the eye, which has normal vision and darkvision out to 30 feet. The eye can look in every direction.
***Artificer Level 14*** With the help of his beloved Entratpa, Hordak becomes a Magic Item Savant. He can attune up to five items with magic and he can ignore all class, race, spell and level requirements to use any magical items.
And there you have it. My version of Hordak in D&D 5e. With the Barbarian levels he can deal decent melee damage and withstand receiving damage and gaining extra strength while Raging.
As part of his background and his close relationship to Entrapta, he can infused magic into items and use offensive spells against the Princesses in his conquest of Etheria.
