The parallel between Arthur being ready to die here and his actual death. "I'm glad you're here" and "just hold me, please". Arthur was ready to die here, and he was glad Merlin was there. When it was actually time for Arthur to die, it was again just him and Merlin. Everything comes back to the two of them.

The poetry scene will never not fuck me up. Merlin said that deliberately with a smile on his face. He said "He can't get enough of it." And then Arthur's face as he said that and the way he backed it up. Like he could have definitely pretended it was some stupid joke from Merlin and that he had simply lost something and was looking for it. He could have even joked too, saying they were looking for Merlin's brain. LEON WOULD HAVE NOT QUESTIONED THAT. But they both went along with the poetry excuse that was no excuse for anything. I'm so convinced Arthur was like: Fine for the slim chance he means it let's see how far he will go And then after Leon left he said: "Poetry that's the best you could come up with?" Merlin looked at him like: no but what do you want to do about it prat kiss me on the mouth or something- AND ARTHUr is such an awkward no rizz loser and knows he doesn't have the balls to take the bait he can't because he was raised as a repressed little gremlin who thought loneliness was strength so he does all he can do apart from backing away and says: "Something that didn't make me sound like a lovestruck girl." They were standing close, they were staring at each other. Arthur needs Merlin to take the first step I just know Arthur stood there hoping and fearing Merlin would do it. But then fucking Uther was like: not on my watch

And Leon was traumatized for nothing.

a passage i think about all the time. the ray of sunlight in the wound is also mentioned in dante's inferno in canto XXXII, where mordred is in the 9th circle of hell. he's submerged in a frozen lake in caina, for treachery towards kin.

I feel like Arthur would be really shy when talking to his horse, if there is other people around

TW: none!

Like if there alone, he will pat and talk to his horse, because this horse is his BABY, (but he will get embarrassed if someone hears him loudly talk to the horse and make the horse trot a-bit quicker) he will spoil the thing to the point that the horse won’t eat anything but the finest fresh food (Arthur will buy food for the house every time)

But around other people? He’s so shy with it. He can’t just not praise his horse, because he loves the horse SM. So while on the horse he will lean in and whisper it real quiet. And getting off the horse he’ll press his face into the horses mane and talk to the horse

Also the horse smells fucking amazing, the mane is clean and the saddle is so clean it looks like a rich city man owned the horse, and a dirty, disheveled outlaw is riding ontop,

He also has drawn that horse more times than you can count, he could do it from memory, if the horse has markings he knows each one.

Idk, he’s just a shy person to me
