Legendary Warrior Women of the Ancient World
Once upon a time, there were women who challenged the might of empires and the laws of men.
They beckoned a world where the whisper of a woman's voice could quake the thrones of tyrants.
Let's delve into these legends from antiquity. 🧵⤵️
Tumblr media
Hatshepsut
The fifth pharaoh of the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt, Hatshepsut reigned longer than any other woman of an indigenous Egyptian dynasty.
She was one of the most prolific builders in Ancient Egypt.
To legitimize her reign, Hatshepsut claimed she was divinely conceived by the god Amun, who appeared to her mother in the guise of the pharaoh Thutmose I, her father.
Tumblr media
Sappho
An ancient Greek poet from the island of Lesbos, Sappho is celebrated for her lyric poetry, which explores love and passion.
Legend says that Sappho leaped from the Leucadian cliffs due to her unrequited love for Phaon, a ferryman, demonstrating the depth of her emotional expressions that permeated her work.
Tumblr media
Artemisia I of Caria
A queen of the ancient Greek city-state of Caria and an ally of Xerxes I during the Second Persian invasion of Greece.
In the Battle of Salamis, Artemisia was so cunning in combat that she intentionally rammed her ally's ship to escape the Greeks, convincing them she was an ally and thus avoiding capture.
Tumblr media
Hypatia
A mathematician, astronomer and philosopher in Alexandria, Egypt, Hypatia was a renowned teacher and thinker.
Hypatia was known to drive through Alexandria in her chariot to deliver public lectures on philosophy, defying the gender expectations of her time.
Tumblr media
Boudicca
The warrior queen of the Iceni tribe who led a major uprising against the occupying forces of the Roman Empire in Britain.
After the Romans flogged Boudicca and raped her daughters, she rallied her tribe and neighboring tribes for revenge, resulting in the destruction of Roman settlements and the decimation of the Roman Ninth Legion.
Tumblr media
The Trung Sisters: Trung Trac and Trung Nhi
Vietnamese military leaders who rebelled against Chinese Han dynasty rule, becoming enduring symbols of resistance.
The sisters, after witnessing the suffering of their people under Chinese rule, famously declared their independence by proclaiming:
"All the male heroes bowed their heads in submission; only the two sisters proudly stood up to avenge the country."
Tumblr media
Khawlah bint al-Azwar
A legendary female Muslim warrior, she fought alongside the early Muslims in the battles against the Byzantine Empire.
Khawlah famously donned male warrior’s armor to rescue her brother from a Byzantine prison camp, charging into battle with such ferocity that opponents assumed she was a supernatural entity.
Tumblr media
Joan of Arc
A French heroine and saint of the Catholic Church, Joan led French forces to victory over the English at Orléans.
Joan persuaded a skeptical Charles VII of France of her divine mission to save France by correctly predicting a military reversal at the Siege of Orleans, before any messenger could have reached them with the news.
Tumblr media
Zenobia
The third-century queen of the Palmyrene Empire in Syria who challenged the authority of the Roman Empire.
Zenobia was so bold that she claimed descent from Cleopatra, positioning herself as the Egyptian queen's successor in defiance of Rome and marched her armies as far as Egypt and Anatolia.
Tumblr media
Cleopatra VII
The last active ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, Cleopatra is known for her intelligence, political acumen, and dramatic love affairs.
In a famous encounter to secure her alliance with Julius Caesar, Cleopatra had herself wrapped in a carpet (or linen sack, according to some accounts) and delivered to him, emerging to charm Caesar with her wit and beauty.

300: Rise Of An Empire would’ve easily been much better if Themistocles had just joined Artemisia and betrayed Athens to help the Persians conquer Greece. But of course we can’t have fun sexy plot twists like that in our campy historical fiction, no no. Instead we have to make do with contrivances like fridging the best character in either of this franchise’s films by unnecessarily killing her off in a battle where she didn’t actually die historically. Then again this isn’t even scratching at the surface.

"General"
The voice of one of my crew members cut short the explanation coming from my lips as I tried to explain to others how we would have to return to Persia in order to equip ourselves with more weapons.
"What do you want?"
"Shirin saw a body floating on a piece of wood. We saved it."
"A body, a dead body?"
"We thought so, until she opened her eyes."
"Her?"
"Yes. Now she's threatening the crew with a knife?"
"Bring a knife?!"
"Yes."
"You should have told me that first, you animal."
Quickly, I left the small room we were in, climbing up some small stairs to be able to see the scene that was forming.
A girl covered with a white dress, dry hair and battered by the salt of the sea, and with red eyes, was moving from one side to the other, threatening my men with a knife.
"Where am I?" She shouted "who are you?"
The men, like good men, did not even deign to try to respond, they just wanted to get closer.
"Calm down."
The girl turned to look at me, listening to my request. I could notice how her grip on the knife loosened a little, to tighten her fist around it again.
"Who are you, where am I?"
"Welcome to the Persian ship, I am…"
"Artemisia… "whispered
"The same"
Before we could react, the girl ran in my direction, but before she could plunge the knife into me, I hit her head, making her fall unconscious on the floor, dropping the gun. Gently, I took the weapon and checked it. It was made of iron, and on the blade came engraved something. Ἰσοκράτης
This woman was none other than the daughter of Isocrates, the famous Athenian politician. This woman was the definition of a gold mine.
"What do we do with her, General?"
"You and you, chain her up and lock her up tight in the cellar. Don't give her a chance to escape" quickly 2 men took the body and started down the stairs. "And you and you, you are going to take one of the boats and row to Athens, go to Isocrates and tell him the sad story of how his daughter ended up on an enemy ship" I mocked, making my sailors laugh. "Maybe that way we'll get more than Themistocles' head."
All the sailors let out a deep laugh, knowing that something big was on the other side of the horizon.
———————————————————————————
The next time I went down to the cellars, the woman, who I now knew had the name Y/N, was awake, and was even trying to untie the knots in her wrists.
"Try as you might, you can't escape."
My voice seemed to startle her, causing her to stop nibbling on the rope.
"Are you finally going to let me out?" her voice was hoarse. As if he hadn't had any water. My eyes glanced at the floor, realizing I hadn't touched either her food or the glass of water.
"You need to eat, you need to hydrate."
"I asked you a question!" she raised her voice, which made me raise my eyebrows, but that didn't make her back down "Are you finally going to let me go?" she asked again.
"No" I sat down across from her, took the plate she had been given, realizing that she had only been given a measly apple and a glass of water, so with my eyes I began to look for some food. "Not until your dear daddy sends us what we want."
Y/N let out a small but loud laugh, which made me take my eyes off the cereal sacks and land on Y/N's brown eyes.
"Then I'll have to die here."
"What do you mean?"
"My father banished me from Athens. So, no matter whether tomorrow you cut me to pieces or leave me alive, my father will want nothing more to do with me."
I stood silently, watching my master plan fall apart piece by piece.
I let out a big sigh and stood up, throwing the apple away.
"Where are you going?"
"I'll bring you better food."
———————————————————————————
Eventually, I had to realize that Y/N was right.
My men returned with empty hands and verbal refusal from the great politician.
"So, what shall we do?"
I didn't even have the brains to answer them. Even I didn't know what we were going to do with the girl.
It was one more mouth to feed, one more weight for this vessel.
But, she was the most sensual woman my eyes had ever seen.
I couldn't just throw it away.
"Does anyone know if she's awake?"
"Omar went to give her her ration recently and she was awake."
Without waiting any longer, I got up and walked to the cellar door, opening it and finding the woman, who was now held only by a rope around her ankle.
"You were right, your father ignored us."
"I told you so" she commented with a mouth full of rice. She was completely hunched over as her plate was on the floor.
Quickly, I took the spoon out of her hand and grabbed the bowl. I took a spoonful of the food and brought it to her mouth.
"I have to apologize to you" she gave me a confused look, but opened her mouth, letting me feed her, but raised her eyebrows, asking me for an explanation. "For keeping you in a place like this. You deserve better."
"That means you're not going to let me go, right?" she spoke again with her mouth full. She was hungry.
"Do you have someplace where you are completely welcome?" Y/N was quiet and simply waited for me to give her another spoonful. So, I took it and popped it into her mouth. "Here I will give you the life worthy of someone like you."
———————————————————————————
Things escalated very quickly, too quickly for me to relate in detail what actually happened.
Y/N loved it, so much so, that, she went from sleeping on top of a bean bag, to sleeping in my bed, every night, of course, after I stuck my fingers up to her vagina.
But, at first, Y/N at first, she didn't want me to go near her because she said he would never let herself be caught in the enemy's clutches.
"Please… don't stop!"
I pulled my mouth away from her pussy as I watched her eyebrows furrow, little beads of sweat on her forehead, her eyes closed tightly and an open mouth that never failed to be as sensual as she was herself.
"Do you want more, sweet girl?"
"Yes, please."
With force, I smacked one of her buttocks, causing Y/N to give a little jump as a high-pitched squeal came from those plump lips.
"You know how to order correctly."
"My lady, please let me cum."
"Cum for me, pet."
I buried my head between her legs again and began to suck on her bulge, while my index, middle and ring finger in her vagina, almost wanting to touch her insides, causing her now, to let out a loud moan, almost like a scream.
"General?"
Omar's head peeked into my room, causing me to peel my face away from Y/N's pussy and with my right hand I covered the woman's naked body with the blanket.
"What do you want, asshole?"
"We have Misia ships in our sights."
"Just get out."
The man slammed the door shut. I carefully got out of bed.
"Where are you going?" asked Y/N as a claim.
"Outside. I need you to shut up."
"But Artemi…"
"I told you to shut up!"
She did not speak again and allowed me to leave without further ado.
———————————————————————————
"We know you have it, Artemisia."
I stopped pacing the room only to focus my gaze on the man tied in the chair.
"Who are you talking about?"
"Don't get smart with me, Artemisia, we know you're holding Y/N hostage."
"I regret to inform you, General Themistocles, but no one is being held hostage here" the men behind his back began to laugh lightly "Lady Y/N is here of her own free will."
"Why would a woman as worthy as Y/N be with someone like you?"
"Because I fuck her like no one ever can. If you had arrived a few minutes ago, you might have been delighted with her moans."
"You are a danger. You don't deserve anything from her."
"And you do?" quickly, I pulled out my pocketknife and put it to his neck.
"She deserves better."
"She's mine!"
"She doesn't even want to be here with you!"
"No?" I turned away from Themistocles and signaled Omar. Minutes later he arrived with a Y/N on shaky legs and wrapped in the blanket.
"Y/N!"
"Themistocles?"
"Oh, honey" I gave her a smile "Come on, come here."
She as obedient as ever, came to my side, letting me slip my arm around her hip.
"Is Y/N well, has this woman done anything to you?" asked the Athenian.
"Come on, pet, tell this man that you want to stay with me."
I got up to walk to his side and duck my head so that it was in the curve of her shoulder and neck, leaving little kisses on her soft skin. I even went so far as to feel goose bumps.
"Tell him, my love" I whispered close to her ear "tell him you're mine."
"Forgive me General Themistocles, but, I want to stay with my General Artemisia. She is the one to whom I belong."
I gave her a last kiss on her neck to give a cynical and victorious smile to the Greek warrior.

Artemisia I of Caria
Artemisia I of Caria was the queen of Halicarnassus (situated in modern day Turkey), as well as Kos, Nisyros and Kalymnos (all a part of the Dodecanese island group). Born around 520 BCE, Artemisia ruled during 480 BCE, though precise details regarding her birth and death dates remain unknown. She was the daughter of Lygdamis of Halicarnassus, and gained power in Halicarnassus and nearby islands after her husband's death, acting as guardian to her son Pisindelis while ruling under Persian suzerainty. She demonstrated remarkable leadership, participating with five ships in King Xerxes I's expedition against Greece in 480 BC, earning praise from the historian Herodotus for her intelligence, bravery, and influence on Xerxes. Her strategic acumen shone during the naval battles at Artemision and Salamis, especially in a critical manoeuvre at Salamis, where she skillfully evade an Athenian trireme by sinking an allied ship, misleading her pursuers and earning high acclaim from Xerxes himself.  Despite her significant contributions, her fate after escorting Xerxes' sons to Ephesus remains a mystery. Her legacy, immortalised in Herodotus' writings, showcases her exceptional bravery, securing her a lasting place in ancient history.

Although most of her writings did not survive, Pamphile (or Pamphila) of Epidaurus (fl. mid-1st century CE) deserves recognition. She is one of the earliest known female historians and the only ancient Greek woman historian about whom we have significant information. Additionally, she was a key figure in developing the genre of “miscellaneous history,” where authors retold anecdotes from earlier works.
A pioneer of historical writing
Pamphile stands among the earliest known female historians, alongside the Chinese scholar Ban Zhao (c. 40–45 – c. 117–120). This does not mean, however, that she was the first or only female historian of her time. For instance, there are references to a woman named Nicobule, who reportedly wrote a biography of Alexander the Great between the 1st and 3rd centuries CE.
According to Photios, Pamphile was a mature woman during the reign of Nero (54–68 CE). Conflicting accounts exist regarding her origins: Photios claimed she and her family were from Egypt, while the Suda, a Byzantine encyclopedia, stated that she and her father, Soterides, were from Epidaurus.
Pamphile was a polymath, likely with access to an extensive library. She attributed her knowledge to her own readings, her husband and the conversations she overheard from his visitors.
Pamphile’s Work and Influence
Pamphile’s main work, Historical Commentaries, survives only in fragments—eleven excerpts from the original 33 books, preserved in paraphrases by authors like Diogenes Laërtius, Aulus Gellius, and Photios. Her Historical Commentaries is considered the earliest known example of “miscellaneous history”. Later writers seem to have emulated her work and style.
In addition to this, Pamphile is credited with other works, including a collection of apophthegms, lectures, debates, and discussions on poetry. She also wrote an epitome of Ctesias in three books. According to the Suda, she authored a work titled On Controversies and a sexual manual called On Sexual Pleasure.
Deborah Levine Gera speculates that Pamphile might also be the author of Tractatus de Mulieribus Claris in Bello (Treatise on Women Distinguished in Wars), which recounts the deeds of powerful women from history, such as Tomyris and Artemisia I of Caria.
Pamphile described her work as poikilia, meaning a “tapestry” woven together from various sources and genres. She chose this approach to make her writing more engaging and enjoyable for her readers.

Ryu Number: Aristides
Aristides—often called "Aristides the Just"—was an early 5th century politician and general of the city-state of Athens. He first rose to notability leading troops to ward off the Achaemenid Empire at the 490 BCE Battle of Marathon (the Achaemenids being the "Persian" part of "Greco-Persian Wars").
Politically, he opposed another Athenian politican and general, Themistocles, a rivalry which eventually resulted in Aristides' ostracism from Athens—"ostracism" being a democratic procedure where Athenian citizens could vote for someone to be exiled from Athens for ten years.
Plutarch, the 1st century Greek philosopher and historian, tells an anecdote that took place during this event. As voters were inscribing their ostraca (the broken pieces of pottery on which voters wrote the names of those they would ostracize—in the singular, "ostracon"), Aristides was approached by one illiterate citizen who, not recognizing Aristides, asked him to write Aristides' name on it for him. Aristides asked the man what wrong it was that Aristides had done him.
"None at all," came the response, "neither know I the man; but I am tired of hearing him everywhere called 'The Just.'"
Aristides said nothing else, but wrote his name on the ostracon and returned it.
Tumblr media
Aristides has a Ryu Number of at most 2.
Aristides gets on The Chart thanks to the new "Chronicles: Battle for Greece" DLC for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. Other additions include his rival Themistocles, the Achaemenid-allied queen Artemisia I of Caria, and Lysander, who destroyed Kalos the Athenian Empire.
Incidentally, the Ostracon Incident (which I'm pretty sure is the title of a Robert Ludlum novel) shows up in the game, though the narration doesn't call attention to it.
Tumblr media
Yeah, that means the illiterate man who needed help with his ostracon also has a Ryu Number of at most 2. Consider that a little bonus Ryu Number for y'all.

Artemisia I - King Xerxes female Admiral
Artemisia I of Caria was a daughter of Lygdamis of Halicarnassus and on her mother's side she was of Cretan descent. After the death of her husband, whose name is unknown, she took over the government of Halicarnassus, Kos, Nisyros and Kalydna before 480 BC - as guardian of her young son Pisindelis. In doing so, she was subject to the suzerainty of the Persian king.
Tumblr media
The Battle of Salamis with Artemisia all in white in the middle, by Wilhelm von Kaulbach (1805-1874) (x)
Without external coercion, the extremely daring Artemisia took part in Xerxes I's campaign against Greece in 480 BC and, during the expedition, was in charge of the five ships she contributed, which, according to the historian Herodotus (7,99), "were the most excellent in the whole fleet after Sidon". Herodotus rightly praises her determination and wisdom as well as her influence with the Great King, but some of her actions are anecdotally embellished or even completely invented, which is why her existence is also discussed in research.
First, Artemisia fought in the naval battle at Cape Artemision (August or September, 480 BC) on the Greek island of Euboea. According to Herodotus' account, she was the only one who advised Xerxes not to attack the Greeks in the strait between Attica and Salamis, where the Greek fleet had retreated. All the other war councillors and allies of Xerxes, on the other hand, had advocated the implementation of the naval battle of Salamis. To justify her position, Artemisia stated that the Greek fleet was superior to the Persian one; moreover, the entire Persian land army would also suffer if the fleet were destroyed by the enemies. Instead, Xerxes should move quickly with his land army to the Peloponnese; the Greeks, who lacked provisions at Salamis anyway, would then disperse, abandon Athens and return to their home towns. Apparently, Herodotus is not reproducing an authentic speech by Artemisias here, but his own assessment of the military situation. According to Herodotus (8,68-69), Xerxes was impressed by Artemisia's speech, but nevertheless decided to risk the naval battle against her advice.
Tumblr media
Artemisia I, Dynastin of Halicarnassus in the 5th century BC at the Battle of Salamis, by Ferdi[and] Dietz 1881 (x)
Artemisia then took part in the battle of Salamis, September, 480 BC, and is said to have performed great deeds. According to Plutarch, she was able to recover the body of Xerxes' brother and Admiral Ariamenes or Ariabignes, how Herodotus (7,97) called him and bring it back to the Great King. The Athenian fleet commanders had been ordered to capture Artemisia without fail; the one who succeeded was to receive a reward of 10,000 drachmas. The Athenians were outraged that a woman dared to fight against them.
Later in the battle, which was extremely unfortunate for Xerxes, Artemisia was able to evade pursuit by the Athenian Ameinias by sinking an allied ship commanded by Damasithymos, the king of Kalynda, which blocked her escape route. The latter concluded from Artemisia's action that the crew of her ship must be either Greeks or Persian deserters, so he turned away and attacked other ships. Thus Artemisia managed to escape. Xerxes observed the incident and believed she had sunk an enemy ship. He is said to have then noticed that his men behaved like women and his women like men. Herodotus (8,88)
Similarly, Polyainos describes the ruse used in the naval battle of Salamis: when the Persians were already fleeing from the Greeks' ships, Artemisia ordered her sea soldiers, when they were almost caught up, to take down the Persian flags and hoist the Greek ones. By which Polyenus in his work Strategemata c. 100 AD even portrays her as a cowardly pirate (8,53,4).  However, she ordered her helmsman to attack one of her own passing Persian ships. This made the Greeks think it was an allied ship, so they turned away and faced other ships. Artemisia, however, having escaped the danger, quickly sailed home.
After the lost battle, Mardonios, a leading Persian military commander, recommended to the Persian Great King that he attempt a new attack on the Peloponnese. Either he should lead this campaign personally or leave it to him, Mardonios, and retreat himself. Before Xerxes made his decision, however, he again asked Artemisia for advice, who firmly advised the king to return home. Herodotus (8,101) While Xerxes marched overland to the Hellespont and then continued to Sardis, she sailed to Ephesus with several of the king's illegitimate sons on board, according to Herodotus (8,103). Plutarch (De Herodoti malignitate, 38), on the other hand, thinks that Xerxes would have brought women from Susa in case his son needed female companions. As we can already see here, we do not know exactly what became of her. And so her story was presumably simply re-spun, because the further statements about her life do not appear until the 1st century AD.
Thus it becomes very dramatic in the story told by Ptolemy Chennos in the 1st century AD that Artemisia gouged out the eyes of her lover Dardanos from Abydos, who had spurned her, in her sleep and then threw herself from the Lucadian rock into the Aegean Sea because of this unhappy love. Her son Pisindelis followed her in the government.

A collage of how I imagine GOT books! Daenerys Targaryen's fashions to look like
Daenerys is one of the hardest figures that I can pinpoint in terms of fashion ( and personality ) so far. Daenerys is a Queen, conqueror, Khaleesi ( ie Dothraki Empress ), warrior, strategist all at once. She embraces her Old Valyrian roots, and adapts her fashions according to the places and Eras she has been on.
Since a number of Realms of West Essos at those points have Byzantine/Ottoman nods, I also added some Byzantine/Ottoman nods to her fashions.
The Dothraki Realms have nods to Central Asia, so I added some Central Asian nods to her fashions as well
She embraces her Old Valyrian roots, so I also added some Ancient Greco Roman and Medieval Italian nods to her fashions as well.
I now imagine that GOT books! Daenerys' fashions have nods to :
. Empress Theodora of Byzantine
. Bala Hatun
. Valka from HTTYD
. Lagertha
. Olga of Kiev
. Queen Hippolyta
. Artemisia I of Caria
. Lady Capulet

Another one because I have zero self control even if it's 4:30 on the morning! This time my bbg Artemisia I. Now I know some might've wanted her to go against Apollo for obvious reasons but trust me on this
Intro, R1, R4, R7, R10
In history
•She was the queen of the Greek city-state Halicarnassus and was an ally of Xerxes I.
•Shd is both remembered as cringefail and girlboss and I like to think of her as both. She is regarded as a commander who took her fleets to victory and as a coward pirate who backed out from battle
•She joined the war effort of Xerxes I and fought in the Battle of Artemisium and gained the favour of the Persian king however when it came to decide if the battle should be furthered out of all of his allies, Artemisia was the only one to advise againts and while the king admired her opinion he agreed with the majority and hence The Battle of Salamis was lost
•Once again the king asked if he should furthur his fleets in Peloponnese and she advised against it which while the king heeded left his conquered territory open and suffered losing it. Artemisia still remained in favor of him tho
•She once rammed her ship in a friendly one while being chased completly sinking it leaving the ship to confuse her's as an ally and retreat. Xerxes saw this and confused that the sunken ship was an enemy one and praised Artemisia
• The Greeks were offended at the thought of a woman fighting agianst them and offered a reward of 10,000 drachmas (about three years wages for a workman) for capturing Artemisia, howver no one managed to win the prize.
In ror
•Her fight starts odd as she doesn't draw her weapon or even take a stance she just approaches Poseidon and says "Depending on your answer the fate of this battle will depend and I will surrender" this shocks everyone in the arena and even Brunhilde is taking back and considering murder
•Once in the past when she was to waste the land of Cos with her fleet, Zeus intervented and struck down her ships. This moment stayed with her even after coming back and having conquered Cos.
•She explains however that she personally doesn't think that Ragnarok will be a win for humanity and she refuses to risk her very existence on a battle as tenacious and unfair as this. She states how humanity fights for its very existence while the gods fight for their pride and entertainment but having been greek herself, she knows the lengths gods can and will go to punish humans, she has no will to fight a losing battle that is part of a war already lost
•Poseidon (only now) replies by letting out a deeply unsettling chuckle and commenting on how a million human lives are hardly worthy of a second of a god's attention. It will never be a fair match if the humans are far inferior.
•This is the wrong answer as finally Artemisia does Volund and her weapon of choice is a Xyston- a long thrusting spear. In the heat of battel Artemisia breaks it in half since it is also double sided, freaking everyone on the arena especially poor Göll out
•She asks Poseidon what makes a god, what differentiates gods from humans? Is it power or birth. And Posiedon gives feh same answer he gave to Sasaki, Artemisia reseponds how an existance such as that isnt worth living which sets Posiedon off
•Artemisia wears traditional clothing as well as armour. She has slightly wavy blond hair that is untied
•Her victory is mostly her disbelief and slight resignation that she is now even more involved in Ragnarok and its outcome
Ragnarok AU Round 3 Winner: Artemisia I of Caria

Okay from ancient Greece and greek mythology in general who do you consider the 10 hottest people?
ahh that's hard uhm
The minotaur (idc if he doesn't count as a person, he's hot)
Dionysus (obviously)
Artemisia of Caria (really hot amazing queen who had ships)
Alcibiades (obviously)
Aphrodite (if I don't include her she might turn me into a caterpillar and i'm not risking it buit also objectively she must be hot)
Cybele (wild nature mom)
Pan (wild nature dad)
Themis (I just think a titaness of absolute order is a very hot concept, maybe she can step on me)
Uranus (the sky is stunning. The personification of the sky must be stunning as well)
Hector (obviously)

I love how the persona 3 cast's ultimate personas are all gods/worshipped as gods except Mitsuru's. You'd think that with her entire social link being about not wanting to marry that prick, she would get Artemis. But instead it's Artemisia of Caria, an actual irl queen/naval commander 💀

I know my capabilities. I know what I am capable of, what I can improve and how little I am bad at. My soldiers knew it, my enemies knew it. But none so much as my lord, the great King Darius; so much so that he allowed me to be the guardian of his youngest daughter, Princess Y/N.
Of course, this has its advantages and disadvantages.
My king had full confidence in me to place his most precious treasure in my care. This made my chest swell with pride.
But, being on the lookout for a spoiled child like Princess Y/N, I had to say goodbye to my faithful friend, the ocean.
The sea, the port and my ship would always be an important part of my history, being the only thing I had known throughout my life. They would always be a part of my life. Despite the gulp of salt water I got the last time I was in those parts.
Before I could ramble on, the palace doors opened abruptly, causing me to cut myself with the small dagger I was playing with.
"So here you are."
And there was my least favorite voice, the voice of Princess Y/N. Sometimes I really felt like I was going to rip her head off every time I heard her voice.
"Yes, I was trying to find my happiness, and you just scared it away."
"Ha ha, even though I really love your jokes, I need you to stop slacking off and accompany me to the market."
"Do I have an option class?"
"Not unless you want to continue to keep your own head."
Before I could comment any further, the princess's head disappeared, letting me know that I had no choice.
I put my gun away and set out to follow the woman.
———————————————————————————
The market always caused me headaches and some dizziness, but today, these symptoms were only getting worse.
"Hey, will you stop being so slow?" shouted the princess just watching as I reloaded my weight in my hand back onto a bard. After a while, I still didn't move "Hey, are you okay?"
"Yes, I'm perfectly fine" just as I tried to keep walking, but, I felt my head getting even dizzier.
"No, you're not well."
Without much time to process, I felt my legs fail me, but just before my chest hit the ground, the princess's arms caught me.
"Okay, all in all, you're not well."
———————————————————————————
"Okay, tell me, what the fuck happened to you?" the princess asked as she wrung out a wet cloth to put on my forehead.
"I told you I don't know."
"So, you're fainting just because?"
"May I not faint!"
The princess changed the cloth to proceed to sit on the small bed she had forced me to lie on.
A silence fell between us, me trying to calm my breathing, while T/Y began to play with her fingers, her eyes fixed on the dock.
"Have you had any other symptoms?"
"What?"
"Did it hurt any more, silly?!"
"I don't remember."
"Have you been feeling tired?"
"More than usual."
"Do you feel nauseous in the morning?"
"Not just in the morning" that's when I realized something wasn't quite right. "In fact, I also feel like throwing up when the sea breeze hits my nose."
"The smell of the sea?" I nodded. "How strange, more so being you."
Again an awkward silence filled the room. Until suddenly the princess jumped to her feet.
"Sure!, you're pregnant!"
"Of course not!"
"Does my father know that you are still in service despite your condition?"
"What condition?"
"Well, your pregnancy."
"THAT I'M NOT PREGNANT, DAMN IT!" the shout startled the princess so much that it made her suddenly shut up "excuse me."
"When was the last time you had blood coming out down there?"
Seeing that the princess was taking the conversation very seriously, I got out of bed and sat up.
"I don't really remember."
"Were you with your boyfriend these past few days?"
"Boyfriend?, what are you talking about, a person like me doesn't have time to have partners?"
"So, how the hell did you get pregnant?" we both stared at each other, until the memory came to my mind making me look away uncomfortably. "Artemisia, are you okay?"
"Actually… if anything happened."
———————————————————————————
Weat was running down my forehead, while a constant stabbing pain in my spine, my hips and my pelvic bone causing me to start pushing unconsciously.
For the first time in my life I could say that I was completely terrified.
"Where is she, is she okay?" A tiny, tiny part of my heart felt so much better as soon as I heard T/Y's voice. She quickly walked over to me.
"Are you okay, how are you feeling?"
"Never in my life… have I ever felt as much pain as I did today" I found it hard to speak, the pain was killing me. "And that… I've been pierced in the stomach with a sword."
We both let out a little giggle.
"I'm glad to hear that at least you still have that acidic sense of humor."
Before I could answer her anything, a stabbing pain in my hip made it impossible for me to think of anything but a piercing scream; causing Y/N herself to freak out.
"Princess" one of the nurses called her attention to her "she's about to give birth".
———————————————————————————
"Are you okay?"
"Do you realize this is like the eighth time you've asked me that?"
I myself laughed as I watched T/N move from one side of the room to the other, holding the baby in her arms.
"Do you have any names for him yet?"
As time passed, T/N and I became close. She was the only friend I had. She helped me a lot during the pregnancy, with my job and especially with her father. But I still hadn't been 100 percent honest with her. Maybe it's time to be.
"Can I be honest with you?"
"I thought we were friends…" commented the princess as she looked away from the bundle in her arms to look at me.
"We are" I confirmed
"Friends are sincere," she commented, turning her attention back to the baby.
Inhale a large amount of air and exhale slowly.
"I don't know if I want to keep the baby…."
"What?" she stopped abruptly and started walking straight toward me.
"You said you weren't going to judge me!"
"I'm not judging you…just that" she lifted the baby a little so that he was at my eye level "Who wouldn't want this little fish?" she spoke as she pursed her lips, eliciting a sweet, soft voice for the sleeping child's comfort.
I have to admit, they were both completely adorable in my eyes.
"It's not a matter of wanting it or not" I began to speak, trying to stop T/N from putting the child in my exhausted arms "it's simple. I don't know if you remember, your majesty" I watched as the princess rolled her eyes. I laughed internally and continued to make my point "I am part of your father's military corps and one of my main jobs was to protect you, not the other way around."
"If it's the child's safety you're concerned about, I can take care of him"
"Are you crazy?"
"Why?"
"What would your dad say?, what would your brother say?, what would the kingdom say?"
"I thought you realized that I don't care about the opinion of either my dad, or my inept brother, much less the town when I try to run away hiding on a boat." we both laughed. "We can both raise little Hossein. You and me against the world."
"Hossein?"
"Yes, it means beautiful. Just like this baby, right?" she spoke softly as she bounced the baby a little. "Are you just as beautiful as your mommy?"
"I am not beautiful" I commented as I closed my eyes with the intention of sleeping for a moment.
"Did you hear that, little Hossein, you and I will have to prove to your mommy that she is the most beautiful woman to ever walk the planet."
———————————————————————————
Time passed faster than I would like to admit. And with it, my responsibilities increased. I no longer had to take care of one child, now I had to take care of two.
"Artemisia!"
Not to mention the many tasks that the king gave me.
"Yes, sir, can I help you?"
"No, my daughter, I've just been told by some people that you should see your little ones more often" he smiled at me.
Before he could ask, the door to the throne room crashed open, letting the screams of T/N and Hossein echo throughout the palace.
"Slow down T/N!" shouted the little boy.
"You'll never catch me you little fish!"
As my eyes watched the two unruly little ones screaming and running back and forth, behind me the king's laughter puzzled me a little.
"Oh my daughter, you don't know how much I appreciate the youth and laughter your little Hossein has brought."
"You two, that's enough!"
Both quickly stopped their laughter and stood still. T/N even had to climb down from a step that simulated an obstacle in their game.
"I'm sorry, Mommy" little Hossein pouted rather adorably.
"Yes, sorry mommy."
I had to admit that, when T/N called me mommy, I felt a little electric shock in my intimate part.
"Where have they been?"
"I was with Panem, he promised me he would teach me how to fight, just like you" the boy commented, giving me a toothy smile, the cutest smile I had ever seen.
"That's great, kiddo," I smiled back as my hand tousled his hair. Our way of showing affection for each other. "And you?" I pointed at T/N with my chin.
"I went to see the oracle."
"What for?"
"I tasked her with some important questions for the nation," interrupted the king, winking at T/N.
"Well children, let the king do his job."
My two hands rested on the backs of both of them and guided them out of the room.
Before I knew it Hossein ran off leaving T/N and I alone.
"What did you go to consult the oracle for?"
"My father told you the reason."
"Honey, you know I'm very fond of your father and I'm as close to fond of you as I can get, but I don't think shit of it."
I tried to make her laugh, but T/N just looked at the floor, somewhat uncomfortable.
"If I tell you the real reason, you'll laugh at me."
"Princess, I would never laugh at you."
"Close your eyes" I looked at her suspiciously. "Trust me."
I closed my eyes as instructed, but we didn't move or do anything.
Which began to intrigue me even more.
When I least realized it, T/N's lips collided with mine stealing a kiss, to which I responded almost immediately.
I didn't know that I needed a kiss from T/N's lips in order to be completely happy.
When shortness of breath set in and we had to separate, we both gave each other a smile.
"Hmm I didn't know I wanted this so badly."
"You wanted it too?"
"Sure, T/N. Remember, it's you and me against the world."
"You, me and Hossein" reminded me T/N.
"Sure, let's not forget the little fish. You, Hossein and me."
Note:
It took me a lot longer than I would have liked (college, 104°F heat, and going to my hometown PRIDE march is tough) but IT'S HERE.
Thank you very much for requesting me. I love you ❤
I hope you enjoy it

ARTEMISIA I OF CARIA // QUEEN OF HALICARNASSUS
“She was queen of the Ancient Greek city-state of Halicarnassus, which is now Bodrum, Turkey. She was also queen of the nearby island of Kos, Nisyros and Kalymnos, within the Achaemenid satrapy of Caria. She fought as an ally of Xerxes I, King of Persia, against the independent Greek city states during the second Persian invasion of Greece. She personally commanded her contribution of five ships at the naval battle of Salamis in 480 BC.”
