La Grenouillère

La Grenouillère was created by Monet while he was on holiday with Renoir. The work takes its name from a popular location on the Seine. This painting is considered the first one of the impressionist movement.

The scene represents a small island, also known as "Camembert" and a floating restaurant. Monet thus breaks tradition, painting outside and directly in front of his subjects.

He applies rapid marks to represent the movement of water

and short dashes of color to represent leaves.

Even people lose their individuality becoming elements made of light and color. Everything is created based on what Monet saw in relation to light or its absence.

Growing into stories Where curiosity ignites spaces of joy and growth. Layers hold a space for dreaming worlds as I dance between the layers. Finally experimenting with materials for my Comics Vs Art illustration. I will hopefully work on the environment around making some sourdough bread today. The base is going to be charcoal. I am going to include color accents. I have color pencils, watercolor, and marker. I may not use markers with the risk of staining the nibs. It may sound weird, but I may go with layering watercolor over charcoal.
