So my sister wants to start sewing more, because

a. She’s 5′ 11″ and can never find pants long enough for her legs or shirts long enough for her arms.

b. She hates synthetic fibers as much as I do and it’s difficult to find natural fiber clothes that aren’t made of cotton

c. She’s a biologist and would physically fistfight microplastics if given half a chance

So her gift from mom and dad for her birthday was a sewing machine. Not a super expensive one but a good solid serviceable one.

And recently she asked “So where do I GET wool or linen and thread that isn’t polyester” and mom was like ‘go ask your sister’

And I, of course, crashed into the group text like “GET A PEN I HAVE WEBSITES FOR U” and honestly I’m thrilled about this

Working on making a bleak dream that has long since fascinated me a reality. I know I wanted to make this with charcoal, like two of the gestures show. I had a hard time with the pose, but the biggest hang up is probably the dumbest. I want to make this about 1/2 scale to life, which means I would need BIG paper! Torn between following my dreams, using 18 by 24, or keeping it simple. What do you think?

You Are Otterful Small Prints

Reflections

Reflections was original done as a small watercolor postcard.  The two fish are Nightshade and Ross, who are also featured in the Dress collection. Pattern Bookmarks

The Pattern bookmarks come in three varieties: Balto (pupper) and Alyosha (bear) sprites on blue Coffee menagerie on red Mr. Snail on pink The sprites are either in a straight repeating pattern, or seemingly random. Each bookmark is: Printed on matte cardstock Coated with hot press laminate individually Given a small hole at the top for you to put in your own string, charm, or tassel!

Hey, guys! I'm trying to get some feedback on potential upcoming prints, paper preferences, and maybe some out with the old stuff.

I got some nicer watercolor paper (finally!!!) and tested it out making some swatches on a Loew Cornell pan set that I've had for a while. Over time I'd love to figure out how to make my own pans (normal and metallic). These seemed pretty opaque, and I was trying to get more... I forget the term but pigment traveling and blending via on-paper water. The paper seemed to get dry really fast, too. Either way, I do feel a remake coming up. :3
