In Pictures: Embroidered Summer Holiday Scenes

The French Artist La Filature, Whose Real Name is Sandrine Torredemer, began Embroidering at five years old with her Grandmother and Great-Grandmother and hasn’t stopped since. “What Was a Passion Has Almost Become a Necessity,” she says. “It is a Very Good Way to Escape From the World a Little.” Originally from Perpignan, near the Mediterranean Coast, Torredemer is inspired by beaches, and interprets photos by combining old fabrics with embroidery to create intricate vacation scenes. “I Have Always Loved Summer,” she says. “Everything Seems Lighter and Carefree, Problems are Put Aside. There’s a Whole Little World Organising Its Life Around a Parasol and a Few Colourful Towels.”

Few days ago, I got into Finding Frankie, came out with two things : A new interest and a new f/o.

Her name's Maisy Magnetic!

She's one of cast of Frankie's cartoon, introduced as a side character but slowly becomes part of the main cast as more episodes came out.

Described as humble, creative yet shy. She's a character lovingly inspired by Bob Ross; though instead of painting mighty landscapes, she makes all sorts of things.

Former cartoonist for the newspapers, she became a host of her own little tv show. Where she paints and crafts, showing endless possiblities of creativity.

Her relationship with Henry Hotline developed from friendship to crushing on each other. Maisy's often the one flirted by and gets flustered by Henry.

Fun fact(or more of a backstory):

He met Dolli on the streets of toy world (a toy shop in NYC[made up place by me] / a shop that mimics NYC and New Orleans). Bear began to follow Dolli around. Dolli had told him to stop many times and had even told him that she was a bad doll. She told him that she had killed someone in the past. Bear said that she wasn’t a bad person. In bear’s mind and heart he believed everyone had some sort of good in them including Dolli. He told her that there is good in her and that he had seen her helping a small human pick out a toy that they couldn’t reach by pushing the toy down (the toy was a old red fire truck and it landed beside the kid)…Dolli looked at him and asked if he had been following her. Bear nodded and said “it’s only because I wanted to see if the “rumors” were true about you”. He smiled up her. Dolli rolled her eyes a bit. Bear snickered a bit and said the “rumors” aren’t true. Dolli laughed bit, but then asked if he had an owner or parents. Bear looked up at her and said he did. Dolli replied with “where is your owner and parents, kid?”…

Bear looked at her and told her that his parents were destroyed and his owner left him…Dolli looked at him and thought “oh shit this kid is messed up as much as I am…” In the end—Dolli took Bear by his hand and lead him to her home.

Dolli never told Bear about her past completely though…
