Luffy is such a wonderful soul. It's so beautiful how much he loves his crew, and how much they love him too, despite his shenanigans. I loved the moments with the crew hanging out, goofing off or bickering with each other. I love seeing their dynamics. I adore how much they genuinely care about each other and how much faith they have in each other.

Aros and aces aren't cold and heartless. Their lives are enriched by so many other kinds of love, all just as meaningful and precious and irreplacable as romantic and sexual love.

Luffy doesn't seem to love anyone that way, but that's more than okay. He doesn't necessarily need a partner. He's perfect as he is, with his life already enriched by all his adventures and his love and adoration for his crew — for his friends.

And he seems perfectly content with that.

With such incredible people around him, he'll never be alone again.

I am aroaspec too and I kind of get what you mean because even though I love romance in fiction (as you can definitely tell) a lot of my ships are based on queerplatonicism rather than romantic love (Zolu my beloved. Or anything with Luffy, really) and I sometimes don't get some ships that most people like because they're just too... Classical romantic types? Idk how to explain it. I guess I just look for very specific things in ships that fit my extremely poetic way of defining love and turns out that most of the time isn't even normative love.

Hey! I'm not the autorithy on all aces experiences but I am on the aroace spectrum so I figured I'd wage in on your "dilemma" over writing Luffy in relationships; I generaly dont mind, love reading about Luffy in relationships but I do prefer when its in platonic relationships, I also get stupidly happy if the writer specifies Asexual Luffy in their writing (Asexual Luffy tag in Ao3 my beloved)

Anyways, relationships are complicated and theres a million and a half types lmao, so I'd say in general I'm okay with Luffy with a partner (or partners because I really love East Blue Polycule ✌)

In terms of more NSFW (feel free to ignore this last part if it makes you uncomfortable) I can only imagine him having sex in very specific situations and more like another type of activity because hes very touchy and what is sex if not being even MORE touchy? But I also feel like Luffy is the type to be goofy even in this aspect, so theres bound to be lots of giggles in the bedroom (he also has the attention span of an algae, so if he gets bored or hungry he is out of there lmao).

I also imagine him (in the East Blue Polycule) being the type to just watch (snack in hand... you're killing the mood my guy 😭)
