Knowing full well how much I love it, Q treated me to the Oregon Symphony’s performance of Stravinsky’s The Firebird Suite tonight. It was amazing and breathtaking. But not as wonderful as this person I got right here. I’m so very happy to have him in my life. #ToManyMore (at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnbPWZIubeM/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Facebook announcements (from venues, promoters, organisers and etc.) _ USA/Canada
this post is gonna be updated (probably in reblogs) with each new post from anyone. if there's something interesting going on, the city is gonna have a separate post/thread with screenshots and links. if i provide a link to the venue it means there's a TI page on it (and the link is to this page). if the venue didn't make a page for us, i highlight it.
Europe has screenshots as an example of how i would do it ideally. starting from USA/Canada in this post and all updates are linked to screenshots posted on a different blog (because of Tumblr limits). that is, except for the last 7 USA shows because i ran out of links (who knew); they have screenshots. this post aka Facebook announcements is divided by tour legs (also because of Tumblr limits).
all 4 posts (for 4 tour legs) are gonna have this disclaimer, yes. is this still confusing? yes.
if there's a major update, i'll reblog this post and add it to the cities that have something new.
any corrections or missing information are welcome as always.

Last night I went to a Puscifer concert as objectively a non-fan, though not a hater. I was easily one of the youngest people there, aside from a few babies. I went in with extremely low expectations, and came out thoroughly shocked because they were actually pretty good.
I can’t honestly describe to you what I wrote beneath this “Keep Reading” line, only that it is long, needlessly over-descriptive, yet surprisingly comprehensible despite being written by a drunk man.
Prior to the concert, I tried giving their latest album a listen to, and maybe I was just in the wrong mindset or something but it really wasn’t clicking with me hence why I went in with extremely low expectations. But hearing them play it live I was blown away, the shit was good.
What was HI-FUCKING-LARIOUS was that they had a (seemingly unannounced ) opening band come out who I can’t even tell you the name of because at no point during their ‘performance’, did they ever say their name, at least I don’t think they did. I can’t describe to you the thoughts that went through my head when these people came on stage. What you have to understand, first and foremost, is that the venue was highly irregular. We were in the Arlene Schnizter Concert Hall which, to anyone who has been to any concert that wasn’t Classical Music, would immediately be able to identify as a pretty fucking weird venue for a concert. This is important to understand.
Tumblr media
I repeat, I am absolutely not a fan of Puscifer at this point in time, and I had it under pretty good authority that there absolutely was no opening band. So when this man-in-drag, manly-woman, trans-woman, whatever person walks out on-stage, the only thought in my head was “Okay, so this is Puscifer”.
I need you to understand that my lack of gendered terms here stems not from some sense of bigoted disapproval of trans people, but instead entirely from a complete and utter lack of capability to properly identify this living creature that stood on stage before me. I don’t know their name. I don’t know the name of their business. I only know that undoubtedly a human being stood before me, and I can only describe them thus as I saw them.
They proceed to play what was probably 3-4 songs but what in actuality felt like a single song spanning 30 minutes. I was positive my family had slipped me acid at some point; perhaps the pizza had shrooms on it; perhaps a hallucinogenic was in the air, I could not say. This man-in-drag, manly-woman, trans-woman, whatever person proceeded to scream into the mic, dance erratically, lay on the ground and hump it, and periodically tear apart their set piece behind them. No words were understood, as the reverb in this particular venue was so extreme and these fine folk had clearly not done a soundcheck beforehand. I was thoroughly convinced that they weren’t speaking words at all, but in fact speaking either in ancient tongues, or baby-speak.
I had convinced myself I was watching the mental faculties of a human being begin to fail, live on stage in front of me. Here I was, watching the complete and utter decay of a human being. I half expected them to collapse altogether, and indeed when they did so I expected to see paramedics rush out on stage and declare them legally deceased, but no, this was all a part of their routine of erratically humping the ground and screaming into a microphone, and yes I mean screaming because despite my inability to understand a single word from this person, I am quite well acquainted with the visual of a human being screaming, and that is indeed what this man-in-drag, manly-woman, trans-woman, whatever person was doing.
I had convinced myself that the back door of the venue had been left open and unattended. Perhaps this was a wandering vagrant from the city; lord knows the city of Portland has many. Perhaps I was in fact watching someone who had long since abandoned their mental faculties in favor of this care-free idealistic approach at life. Whereas I often feel the inane displeasures of life, this person felt none of them in those 30ish minutes on stage.
I sat there in that cramped seat in the quite unusual venue, entirely phased out. The lack of clarity in speaking, along with the incredibly loud, yet incomprehensible reverberation of what I can only describe as raw sound had forced my brain to disconnect almost entirely. Blame it on my ADD, I was gone for those 30 minutes, and anything save the true ending of the life of the being on-stage would not have reconnected me to the reality that was before me.
When it was over, I can’t begin to stress enough how much I emphasized to my family that I did not think this was bad, only I had thought it nothing. At least, that is as far as my limited descriptive capabilities can describe such an event. Believe you me, I have heard bad before, and this was not it, yet I can’t definitively state what it was I had heard last night. I thought it a special moment to be able, whether willing or not, to watch the end of someone’s mental faculties. This would’ve been my first occasion, and what a particular life experience to have, no? Perhaps this would be something I’d have to deal with in some greater capacity later in life with my own parents. What spectacular timing that I’m able to experience an alike-episode last night so that I may use it for later understanding of my parents in the future.
At the tell-tale of 30 minutes, the ringing in my ears had finally given leeway to the silence, or rather near-silence of the bustling audience surrounding me. I was promised an intermission, and this was thus. I turned to my family, whom prior to the event I had expressed my complete and utter neutrality towards the band we were there to witness, and they informed me thus that the performance we had just witnessed was not, in fact, Puscifer, and was, in fact, as much a complete and utter surprise to them as it was to me.
I’m none too sure what I can say with regards to the actual Puscifer, either you’re a fan of them or you’re not. In terms of stage-performance, they were akin to Rage Against The Machine, who I have not personally witnessed, though I’ve been to a Tom Morello concert which was effectively identical. In terms of music, well speaking only of their most recent album which is the bulk of what they performed, it’s certainly nothing like RATM. Calling it synthwave would be a disservice to both genre and artist, yet I’m not sure I can describe it any other way.
As I stated beforehand, I came in with abysmally-low expectations, and left rather surprised by just how much I enjoyed them, the actual Puscifer that is. That opening performance however, will live on in my memory for quite some time.
