in the lonely hearts club job leverage asks the question "does romantic love exist?" and answers it by having eliot buy parker a venus fly trap on hardison's behalf, expecting no recognition and revealing eliot remembers a throwaway comment parker made on their second job together.
we all know this.
but was anybody going to tell me hardison already had a browser window open looking for restaurants to buy eliot in portland in response at the start of the episode immediately after that? or was i supposed to figure it out on a rewatch all by myself?!

15/03/2024 - Portland Winterhawks vs Tri-City Americans
Luca Cagnoni beats 2 on a slippery, criminal zone entry and finds a gap for a sweet backhand saucer pass -> Diego Buttazzoni gets the finisher!
Image ID under the cut
[image ID: 3 gifs of Portland Winterhawks defenceman Luca Cagnoni (#73) and centerman Diego Buttazzoni (#90) vs the Tri-City Americans.
Gif 1: Cagnoni, carrying the puck through the neutral zone is pressured by Americans forward Andrew Fan (#11) on the backcheck. Cagnoni sticklifts Fan's attempt to intercept the puck, letting Fan over-skate it. The puck flies out between Fan's legs, and Cagnoni puts himself between Fan and the puck on entry. Buttazzoni, who was waiting on the blue line, explodes into action as they all enter the Americans' zone.
Gif 2: Americans defenceman David Byrne (#5) skates backward in front of Cagnoni with his stick out to intercept. Cagnoni slows down, widening his stance and skating on his edges. On his backhand, Cagnoni lifts the puck and sauces a pass directly across the slot. Byrne and Americans forward Deagen McMillan (#24) both try to intercept the pass, but fail. Buttazzoni, having made it to the end zone faceoff circle, catches the puck on his stick. Without waiting, Buttazzoni snaps a wrist shot at the Americans' net.
Gif 3: The puck bounces past Byrne and McMillan and to Buttazzoni, who shoots using a wrist shot with the puck pulled close to his feet. Americans goalie Kyle Kelsey (#1) tracks the pass and squares up with Buttazzoni as he shoots. The puck flies in, blocker side, and Kelsey attempts to trap it to his chest. It deflects off his stick handle and into the back of the net. The Portland Winterhawks score a goal. /.End ID]

🍉 Help my family 🍉
Hello, I am Fidaa and I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart on behalf of my family, a family of five people trapped in the devastating situation in Gaza. We are urgently seeking evacuation to Egypt after enduring more than 282 days of displacement and hardship. I am seeking to help us urgently and provide us with the minimum requirements. I never imagined that my loved ones would be caught in the crossfire of a conflict they were not part of. My husband had only one dream – to teach and take care of our children . The idea that their innocence has been marred by the horrors of war is too heavy a burden to bear. We face the harsh reality of conflict. The trauma inflicted on my children tears at my heart, and I am haunted by fear for their safety and well-being. To give you a glimpse into their daily struggle, they wake up to a relentless battle for survival after surviving deadly nights. For more than 200 days, we have been cooking on firewood due to the scarcity of cooking gas. The entire region lacks fuel for cars, making transportation almost impossible. Basic necessities, including medicines, are scarce, even for those with the means to purchase them. Humanitarian aid has barely reached areas in Khan Yunis that have not yet reached us. But I find myself in a very embarrassing situation. I have to go back and ask for help and rescue. You are my only hope. My family is struggling with genocide. I promised myself that I would do my best to convey their suffering and save them, even if it cost me death. My beloved family is the most precious thing in my existence, and I am very sad that we are still in the Gaza Strip, where we see all kinds of death I'm ashamed to ask you to help me save our lives. It was my wise way to save my children If someone donates $5 it will make a difference for us and help us because we need more. I don't want to lose my family, you are my only hope I love you because you were the source of my trust. I love you because you are truly wonderful. You are our hope always and forever. You also helped me save my family, the most precious thing in existence. I feel so embarrassed but I have rubbed salt in my wound and I have no one to save it but you
Your generosity will directly help save my family from death and rebuild our lives. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a big difference. Lend your hand and make a meaningful impact for us because we need you Donate on GoFundMe Every contribution, whether big or small, will directly help save my family's life ✓ Share this post and spread the word ⩥ Please share this campaign with your friends, family and colleagues to help us achieve our goal and evacuate my family safely . Your support means everything to me, and I am so grateful for any help you can provide during this difficult time. Your help means everything to us. For more details or questions, please contact me freely. Your kindness is a beacon of hope for our family. We thank you for your support and hope that better days will come.

Spotted just outside Portland, OR: Bill Cipher, screenprinted on canvas and trapped behind glass, hiding among the picture frames. I picked up an oddly shaped wall mirror to see what lurked behind it, and there he was. (No, I didn't bring him home. I've never seen Gravity Falls, but if Tumblr Osmosis has taught me anything it's that you don't invite this dude into your house.)

Surprise Visits
Ana-Maria Crnogorčević x Reader
Word Count: 1.5k
[WOSO Masterlist]
You’re warm when you wake up. The first thing you clock is how rested you feel, a phenomenon you never experience unless you’ve spent time with your girlfriend.
Wrapped up in your bed, surrounded by nothing but your endless mountain of pillows and blankets, there’s a comforting feeling of safety seeping into your bones. You’re still half asleep as you turn in place, slowly grumbling under your breath at the lumpiness of your mattress.
You don’t remember your mattress being this lumpy when you fell asleep last night, but straddling the line between consciousness and the sweet lull of sleep, you chalk it up to your mind playing tricks on you. Turning again, you hope to find another comfortable position, cursing out loud when something pokes you in the side.
Shoving your face into the edge of your pillow, you grimace. Your pillow’s a weird temperature, not quite cool like you like it, yet not disgustingly hot either. You grumble again, pinching your eyes shut even tighter, hoping you’ll slip back to sleep before your alarm inevitably wakes you in what you’re certain will be a couple minutes.
Your pillow vibrates underneath you, a low hum reaching your ears. It almost sounds like a chuckle but--
You stiffen, senses slowly coming back into focus. Flexing your fingers, there’s a strange material brushing against your fingertips. Cinnamon and vanilla fills your nose, a scent you can only ever grasp in your dreams. There’s a weight looping around your back, anchoring you in place, a warmth pressed against your body, something that’s so distinctly humanlike.
Raising your head slightly, your wide eyes meet sparkling blue ones, amusement dancing in all of her features.
Ana still looks as beautiful as the last time you saw her in person.
You can still remember that day as if it was yesterday. Ana dropping you off at the airport. Her blue eyes tinged with sadness as you hugged each other goodbye, your sun-touched, Barcelona-tanned skin already missing her touch the second you got onto the plane.
It had surprised none of your friends when you hopped onto the first flight to Barcelona the second your NWSL season had ended. It also surprised none of your friends that you spent your entire off-season over there with your girlfriend. The two of you have been dating for close to half a decade, beginning in Portland and continuing despite the distance between you. You’ve been doing this dance for years, spending the majority of the year alone, only seeing each other during holidays and the couple months you each had off from your own seasons. Rarely do the two of you ever find time off at the same time, so whatever time you could spend together, no matter how busy the other one is, is cherished to the extreme.
You’ve been counting down the days until you could see her next. Marked on your calendar is the next international break, just a couple of weeks away. Switzerland is on the slate of teams you’ll be playing and you may or may not have already bribed some of the staff to let you spend the day off after the match with your girlfriend.
This is a plan that you’ve kept only to yourself and a few of your most trusted friends, intent on surprising Ana with a one day romantic getaway during camp.
But here she is.
In your bed.
Surprising you instead.
Squealing, you shove at Ana’s shoulders, mouth already aching from how wide you’re smiling. “Ana! What are you doing here?”
Your girlfriend laughs, catching and trapping your hands before you can pull back. “Good morning to you too, my love.”
You giggle when she yanks you back on top of her, your bodies molding together like two puzzle pieces finally finding home with one another. It’s like second nature, leaning down to connect your lips, the sigh that leaves Ana’s mouth telling you she’s missed it as much as you have.
“I missed you,” she murmurs when you break apart, a dazed awe settling over her features as she takes you in.
You’re sure there’s a similar look on your face as you drop your chin onto your arms, propping yourself up on top of your girlfriend. “When did you sneak into my bed? I distinctly remember my bed being devoid of goddesses when I fell asleep.”
Ana grins that toothy grin of hers, reminding you of every time you’ve fallen in love with that smile. “Did anyone ever tell you you sleep like a log? You should really get that checked because it was surprisingly easy to climb into bed with you.”
You roll your eyes, ripping a hand out from Ana’s grasp just to give her shoulder another punch. She feigns a look of pain, something you’re quick to ignore. “Oh quit being a baby.”
The pout on her face is quick to be replaced with something mischievous and that’s all the warning you get before Ana’s rolling the two of you over, trapping you underneath her. You let out a yelp at the unexpected movement, hands holding onto your lover for dear life as she bellows out a melodic laugh.
You’re following her lead soon after, stomach beginning to cramp by how hard you laugh. Eventually it all dies out, a soft look settling in Ana’s eyes as she just takes you in, sprawled underneath her. For a second everything is quiet. You relish in the feeling of being next to one another after so many months spent apart. Your heart’s pounding out of its chest and not for the first time you think about the ring you have hidden in a pair of cleats underneath your bed. God do you love this woman. And god do you want to make her yours forever.
As the seconds tick on, you don’t miss the way Ana’s eyes drop to your lips. It doesn’t take a genius to know where her head’s at. Meeting Ana halfway, your hands tangle in her blonde locks, trying to tug her closer despite the already minimal space between you.
Unlike the first kiss the two of you just shared, there’s nothing PG about this one. Ana’s quick to slip her tongue into your mouth, hands roaming unchallenged beneath your sleep shirt.
Distracted by her wandering hands, you don’t realize Ana’s stopped kissing you until you feel her lips pressed against your jaw, making its way steadily towards your neck.
A broken moan escapes you as she reaches a particularly sensitive spot, hips bucking on instinct. Your eyes flutter shut, a jolt of pleasure shooting through you as Ana sucks harder at your pulse point, hand pinning your hips down. Moaning, you tilt your head off to the side some more, giving your girlfriend more space to work off of.
Ana’s hand dips just under the elastic of your boxers and you hold your breath with anticipation--
Ana jerks forward at the shrill ring of your alarm, your phone taking both of you off guard. Any feelings of arousal coursing through your veins is quickly replaced with the sharp pain radiating through your nose as Ana’s head crashes against your face. The blonde’s quick to scramble back, hand shooting to turn off your alarm before rubbing at her forehead.
When she turns back to you, ready to laugh off the disturbed mood, any laughter is quick to die on her tongue at the sight of you. Still laying back against your pillow, your eyes are pinched shut. Both of your hands are cupping your nose, but there’s no mistaking the red that’s already making its way through the gaps of your fingers.
“Shit!” Ana hisses, leaning across to your bed stand again, this time to grab some tissues.
You let out a similar hiss when she bats your hands away, quickly replacing them with the tissues. Helping you sit up, Ana only gives you a couple seconds to catch your bearings before she’s ushering you into the bathroom.
It’s quiet for a moment as you try to stave off the bleeding. Ana’s trying to avoid looking directly at your face whenever you switch out your stained tissues for new ones but you don’t give her the same care, eyes boring into hers through the mirror.
It isn’t until you’re muttering something unintelligible that Ana hesitantly meets your eyes. She grimaces before meekly asking you to repeat yourself.
“I think you broke my nose.” It’s still a bit muffled, but Ana can make your words out just fine. Blanching, Ana nervously chews on her bottom lip.
“Are you sure it’s broken?”
Fixing her with a look, you take your hands away from your face. Ana’s eyes widen before she grabs at your wrists, gently guiding your hands back up to cover your nose.
It’s hard to hide the satisfied look on your face at her reaction.
.
It’s even harder to hide from the physio, and your friends, how you broke your nose.
.
“How did you break your nose?”
“What do you mean it happened in bed??”
“OHMYGOD IT WAS A SEX INJURY???”
.
Easy to say Kelley does not take the news without lording it over your head for the rest of Ana’s visit (and long after).

A little press release from Image comics - we're putting out a mass market edition of Griz Grobus! Press release follows:
PORTLAND, Ore. 12/07/2023 — The high fantasy, graphic novel Kickstarter sensation, Griz Grobus, by co-writer/artist Simon Roy (Prophet, Jan's Atomic Heart and Other Stories) and co-writer Jess Pollard, with colors by Sergey Nazarov, will be available in trade paperback format for the first time this June 2024 from Image Comics.
Griz Grobus was originally a popular Webtoon sequential webcomic that leveled up its exposure with the 2021 launch of a Kickstarter campaign for a stunning hardcover edition. The campaign ignited fandom fervor, was fully funded in under a day, and raised nearly $70K—far exceeding the stretch goal. This Summer’s forthcoming paperback edition will bring this roaring success story to an even wider audience of readers.
"Part of what we wanted to make, in Griz Grobus, was a story that felt like a foreign film from a country you haven't heard of," said Roy. "Natural, familiar elements, sitting harmoniously alongside the new and unfamiliar. The proposition of getting to introduce a whole new audience to our little pocket universe, and the worlds within it, is very exciting!"
Set in the same sci-fi universe as Roy's Habitat,Griz Grobus is another tale of life after the collapse of the interstellar empire. But unlike Habitat—where a once utopian orbital community found itself descending into cannibal tyranny—the characters of Griz Grobus inhabit the rural world of Altamira, where post-utopian frontier life has blossomed into something a bit more wholesome.
Pollard added: "I can definitely say it is one of the funniest, most delightful things I've ever been a part of, and I laugh every time I read the story, as if I'm reading it for the first time. I hope readers will feel the same warmth when they read this edition, whether it be for the first time, the second, or third.”
Griz Grobus tells two parallel, intertwined tales from the far-off colony world. High in a sleepy mountain village, the overzealous academic ambitions of a young scribe lead to the resurrection of the town’s ancient colonial-era priest-bot. This long-defunct pastor finds himself in a world that has passed him by, but refuses to simply accept his obsolescence, much to the chagrin of the scribe and the local townsfolk. The second story, a mise-en-abyme, is Altamira’s most famous novel (being avidly read by the characters of the first story). It is a fantasy tale about a war-god who gets trapped in the body of a goose, and the efforts of one pacifist cook to delay the war-god’s bloody return to the battlefield.
This lush, intricately detailed, standalone fable is perfect for fans of Hiyao Miyazaki, Asterix, and Arthur C. Clarke.
The Griz Grobus trade paperback (ISBN: 9781534397866) will be available at local comic book shops on Wednesday, June 5 and independent bookstores, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, and Indigo on Tuesday, June 4.
Griz Grobus will also be available across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.
