Ravi Ahuja Appointed President and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment
Tumblr media
Sony Pictures Entertainment Chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra will resign from his position at the start of next year. He will be succeeded by Ravi Ahuja, who is currently the President and Chief Operating Officer of the company.
Ahuja, who also serves as the Chairman of Global Television Studios, will take on the role of President and CEO starting January 2, 2025, according to a statement. The 53-year-old will report to Kenichiro Yoshida, Chairman and CEO of Sony Group Corporation, as well as to Hiroki Totoki, President, COO, and CFO of Sony Group Corporation.
In the meantime, Vinciquerra will continue to serve the company in an advisory role as the non-executive Chairman until December 2025.
Who is Ravi Ahuja?
Ahuja currently serves as Sony Pictures Entertainment’s President and Chief Operating Officer in addition to being Chairman of Global Television Studios.
Among his duties are managing the company’s production divisions, which include both domestic and foreign productions, as well as its operations in India. Ahuja was in charge of running the daily operations alongside Vinciquerra.
March 2021 saw Ahuja join Sony Pictures Entertainment. Previously, he served as Chairman of Global Television Studios, overseeing the studio’s activities in India and managing Sony Pictures Television’s production divisions.
Since joining the company, he has spearheaded several mergers and acquisitions, including the purchases of non-fiction entertainment company Industrial Media, UK production company Bad Wolf, and VFX company Pixomondo, among others.
Previously, Ahuja was the President of Business Operations and CFO at Walt Disney Television. In this role, he played a crucial part in the merger of Disney/ABC Television and Fox Networks following Disney’s acquisition of Fox in early 2019. Like to make everyone aware of this little Bill that is super important to reinstate checks and balances after that fiasco earlier this year.
Please call your senators to vote in favor of this bill.
Here's some petitions about it too:

One of those weeks where everything's been about a foot and a half off from where it seems like it should have been.
The surprise work dinner on Tuesday was neither good nor bad. The boss was in town to meet with people about a thing and wanted to get together for dinner, so that's what we did.
In 4 weeks I'll be in Kansas. In 4½ weeks I'll be 43; in Arkansas. In 6 weeks I'll be in Vancouver, BC. Lots of new stuff. Thinking about a trip to scope out Richmond in February. Thinking about driving into the mountains to hide from the world for a while. Options.
Wholly forgettable uptempo music that distracts the part of my brain that decides we're doing side quests today instead of, like, the actual work I need to get done. This week was a lot of digitally imported nightcore. It doesn't work all the time but when it does it's amazing. I got more work done in the last 4 days than I have in the previous 3 weeks.
💚, etc.

Trump is saying he wants to skirt the senate confirmation process for recess appointments and he won't support a Senate majority leader that doesn't agree. Do you think the senate will actually give up their power so willingly?
I think there are still enough legislators (at least in the Senate) who believe in separation of powers and aren't willing to give away their branch's role as something close to an equal partner in governing that they will not give that away so easily. I think that's why the Senate Republicans probably ended up choosing John Thune as Majority Leader today. However, they are so beholden to the cult of personality that the MAGA movement has built around Trump that the only reason Thune ended up winning is because the Senate leader was chosen in a secret ballot. If those votes were public, I guarantee Rick Scott would have been elected Majority Leader today.

The only way to abolish the electoral college is to vote and then file ballot initiatives to remove it from the system and replace it with ranked choice - mandatory - voting.
Obviously we should then make it easy to vote, including issuing a picture identification card when someone registers to vote, or just bring back motor-voter regulations so we can just be done with this whole fucking stupid ass "talking point". Talk about red herring, "the illegals are voting" so like the ones that are unable to register to vote? Circles!!

She will do her best to meet the people in the middle, voting for the president is shopping for a reliable used car, something to maintain your life in a predictable way - no matter how fun the flashy car might seem, it is a siren song for the police and the insurance isn't worth the cost, like at all... even a little.
If you don't vote in this election, you will lose the right to complain, and vote, going forward.

I am begging people giving U.S. politics commentary to have, just, a basic, basic, 6th grade citizenship class level of understanding of the relationship between the branches of government. Please. You will not get icky electoralism cooties if you learn that "Whoever is the president right now is responsible for decisions the supreme court hands down right now" is nonsense.

the girlbossification of ruth bader ginsburg has to be one of the most just plain annoying aspects of white liberal feminism. like it's not as actively harmful as a lot of other shit obviously. but it is soooooo annoying. if I never see another notorious rbg tote bag as long as I live it will be too soon
#her opinions and amicus' in many cases were iconic! not denying that certainly. she is absolutely AMONG the better justices in us history#HOWEVER her record on policing/the carceral system is very bad! genuinely bad!#and she just would not hold the conservative justices accountable. her and kagan are way too placating#and then she refused to retire in 2009 when there was a sitting democratic president and a fucking DEMOCRATIC SUPER MAJORITY#saying basically that no one else could do the job as well as her which is insane because sotomayor and KBJ literally are better :/#its also unbelievably conceited and just incredibly fucking selfish to knowingly doom the country because you think youre hot shit#started ranting abt this at work bc literally any talk even adjacent to the supreme court will set me off abt all of us court history#and my coworker was like 'well i dont think its very fair that she had to have that much riding on her decision to retire'#it literally is fair because that is the fucking job that she signed up for. this has literally always been how it fucking works#its a lifetime appointment. you either die unexpectedly or retire strategically#she accepted a position in which the entire country would depend on her but its not fair for the entire country to depend on her???#bullshit#im not fucking buying it. she did this knowing roe would likely be struck down as a result#she should absolutely be held accountable for that lmfao. you can know that she had a hand in a lot of great decisions for this country#while also knowing that she did a fucked up and extremely selfish thing

feel like people sometimes forget you arent just voting for the president for Now (though what they actively do in the present is Obviously incredible important) but also the president who may damage the future the least as it often takes years and decades for their actions to be felt thoroughly through the country and the world. like. the current state of things is so fucked Because of older generations Not considering how their vote would impact things in the long term

He's decorating the office for Niki? That's so cute what :(
Right? And he did it so quickly and it turned out to look pretty cute.
I also think it's funny that he sees a jobless girl on the server and immediately wants to give them a job.
