can we start considering online job application systems as class warfare or
#unimportant thoughts#not even joking unfortunately#they really do feel like a tool to oppress the working class#they dont work at all#and im starting to think the companies dont want them to#they built the tools like that on purpose so they can better hide all their unjust hiring practices and habits and decisions#had a old man friend comment to me the other day that it feels like the only way to get hired anymore is to know someone who can get you#an in.#because the job application systems suck so bad and no one ever hears anything back#almost as if….these systems were designed to keep the ‘riffraff’ out automatically….#so they can hire only the people they internally approve of (fellow class members)….while hiding the entire process behind software….#sorry im on my conspiracy mode bullshit#the job market is FUCKED right now and I do think that all hiring software needs to be investigated

Spent several hours today arguing with the other devs about how to rewrite our enterprise app launcher/updater because right now its pretty much a trojan.
in a nutshell: It currently downloads the individual JARs from our WildFly server, adds them to its classpath via the system classloader, then launches a target main method through reflection, effectively becoming that running process.
Someone from OPS found the list of security exceptions they needed to add to make it work (spoiler its a lot)
I hope the security team is preparing to have a heart attack when we have our meeting Wednesday

🔔 ARTIST APPLICATIONS: Yharnam Sunrise
Yharnam Sunrise is an upcoming fan tarot deck dedicated to Bloodborne and its many characters, situations, and settings. We are looking for artist contributors.
This will be Vermilion Zines' first tarot project, but we want to stress that we are interested in making a workable, meaningful tarot deck, not just something pretty or superficial. We are limiting the artists picked to somewhere around 8-10 to preserve the coherence of the deck, and we are working with tarot enthusiasts to be sure the cards are not only Bloodborne appropriate but keep the integrity of the tarot card's meaning. We will be sure that each artist is aware of and incorporating the themes of the tarot cards they work on into their artwork. We hope you enjoy the result!
Contributor applications will run from 11/17 to 1/1. Fill out the form for artists HERE!
📜 See the FAQ here, or feel free to send us an ask. 📜 See the schedule here.
Thank you for reading!

it is just FASCINATING to me how the ads for Google Gemini seem entirely dedicated to "What's the single least useful thing we could suggest using GenAI for?"
Planning a date! Planning a holiday! Writing a cover letter for a job application! Designing an invitation for a Christmas dinner with your friends???
like I don't think there are that many good applications for this kind of genAI but if there are they sure as fuck aren't these
#ai#google gemini#like here's the thing i KNOW there are useful applications for LLM software#i did my honours thesis on what was essentially an graphic recognition diagnostic system for arthritis#which used the same basic principle to measure how far certain points on a bone were from “normal” bone shapes#and whether they were closer to images tagged as arthritic#and it gave a pretty accurate OA rating#but you know what i would not trust the bone-measuring robot to do? deal with the patient.#anyway idk man the Gemini pr team is just hilariously inept at this#i wouldn't trust another PERSON to plan a date for me let alone a computer!#and if writing a fancy invitation for a friendly get together isn't something you enjoy you can simply. not do that?#i am begging tech companies to figure out use cases BEFORE launch thanks

How to Break into the Tech World: Your Comprehensive Guide
In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, the tech industry is thriving and full of opportunities. Whether you’re a student, a career changer, or someone passionate about technology, you may be wondering, “How do I get into the tech world?” This guide will provide you with actionable steps, resources, and insights to help you successfully navigate your journey.
Understanding the Tech Landscape
Before you start, it's essential to understand the various sectors within the tech industry. Key areas include:
Software Development: Designing and building applications and systems.
Data Science: Analyzing data to support decision-making.
Cybersecurity: Safeguarding systems and networks from digital threats.
Product Management: Overseeing the development and delivery of tech products.
User Experience (UX) Design: Focusing on the usability and overall experience of tech products.
Identifying your interests will help you choose the right path.
Step 1: Assess Your Interests and Skills
Begin your journey by evaluating your interests and existing skills. Consider the following questions:
What areas of technology excite me the most?
Do I prefer coding, data analysis, design, or project management?
What transferable skills do I already possess?
This self-assessment will help clarify your direction in the tech field.
Step 2: Gain Relevant Education and Skills
Formal Education
While a degree isn’t always necessary, it can be beneficial, especially for roles in software engineering or data science. Options include:
Computer Science Degree: Provides a strong foundation in programming and system design.
Coding Bootcamps: Intensive programs that teach practical skills quickly.
Online Courses: Platforms like Coursera, edX, and Udacity offer courses in various tech fields.
Self-Learning and Online Resources
The tech industry evolves rapidly, making self-learning crucial. Explore resources like:
FreeCodeCamp: Offers free coding tutorials and projects.

Certifications can enhance your credentials. Consider options like:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect: Valuable for cloud computing roles.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP): Great for cybersecurity.
Google Analytics Certification: Useful for data-driven positions.
Step 3: Build a Portfolio
A strong portfolio showcases your skills and projects. Here’s how to create one:
For Developers
GitHub: Share your code and contributions to open-source projects.
Personal Website: Create a site to display your projects, skills, and resume.
For Designers
Design Portfolio: Use platforms like Behance or Dribbble to showcase your work.
Case Studies: Document your design process and outcomes.
For Data Professionals
Data Projects: Analyze public datasets and share your findings.
Blogging: Write about your data analysis and insights on a personal blog.
Step 4: Network in the Tech Community
Networking is vital for success in tech. Here are some strategies:
Attend Meetups and Conferences
Search for local tech meetups or conferences. Websites like Meetup.com and Eventbrite can help you find relevant events, providing opportunities to meet professionals and learn from experts.

Step 5: Gain Practical Experience
Hands-on experience is often more valuable than formal education. Here’s how to gain it:
Internships
Apply for internships, even if they are unpaid. They offer exposure to real-world projects and networking opportunities.
Freelancing
Consider freelancing to build your portfolio and gain experience. Platforms like Upwork and Fiverr can connect you with clients.
Contribute to Open Source
Engaging in open-source projects can enhance your skills and visibility. Many projects on GitHub are looking for contributors.
Step 6: Prepare for Job Applications
Crafting Your Resume
Tailor your resume to highlight relevant skills and experiences. Align it with the job description for each application.
Writing a Cover Letter
A compelling cover letter can set you apart. Highlight your passion for technology and what you can contribute.
Practice Interviewing
Prepare for technical interviews by practicing coding challenges on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank. For non-technical roles, rehearse common behavioral questions.
Step 7: Stay Updated and Keep Learning
The tech world is ever-evolving, making it crucial to stay current. Subscribe to industry newsletters, follow tech blogs, and continue learning through online courses.
Follow Industry Trends
Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in your field. Resources like TechCrunch, Wired, and industry-specific blogs can provide valuable insights.

Dedicate time each week for learning. Whether through new courses, reading, or personal projects, ongoing education is essential for long-term success.
Conclusion
Breaking into the tech world may seem daunting, but with the right approach and commitment, it’s entirely possible. By assessing your interests, acquiring relevant skills, building a portfolio, networking, gaining practical experience, preparing for job applications, and committing to lifelong learning, you’ll be well on your way to a rewarding career in technology.

How to Get a Job: Top Tips to Land Your Next Role
Landing a job can feel like navigating a maze—exciting but often challenging. In today’s competitive job market, it’s not just about finding any job; it’s about finding the right job that aligns with your skills and career goals. The good news? With the right preparation and strategy, you can significantly increase your chances of landing your dream role. In this guide, we’ll walk you through some of the top tips to help you stand out and secure your next job.
Self-Assessment Before you dive into job applications, take a step back and do a little self-reflection. Knowing what you’re good at and where you need improvement is crucial. Identify Your Strengths and Weaknesses: Start by listing your key skills and experiences. What are you really good at? Where do you shine in your current or past roles? At the same time, be honest about areas where you could improve. Understanding these aspects of yourself will help you apply for roles that truly match your capabilities. Set Clear Career Goals: What do you want from your next job? Is it a step up in your current career path, a shift into a new industry, or maybe a role with a better work-life balance? Clearly defining your goals will help you focus your job search on positions that align with your aspirations. Tailoring Your Job Search: Instead of applying to every job you come across, focus on those that match your skills and goals. This targeted approach will not only save you time but also increase your chances of landing a job that’s a good fit for you.
Resume and Cover Letter Preparation Your resume and cover letter are often the first impression you make on a potential employer. Make sure they represent you well.
Crafting a Standout Resume: Your resume should be clear, concise, and focused on your achievements. Use bullet points to highlight your key responsibilities and accomplishments in previous roles. Make sure your resume is easy to read and free of any clutter or unnecessary information.
Personalizing Your Cover Letter: A generic cover letter won’t do you any favours. Take the time to tailor each cover letter to the specific job and company. Mention the company’s name, the role you’re applying for, and why you’re excited about the opportunity. Show them you’ve done your homework and are genuinely interested in the position.
Showcasing Achievements and Skills: Don’t just list your job duties—highlight your achievements. Did you exceed sales targets? Streamline a process? Lead a successful project? Make sure these accomplishments are front and centre on your resumes 3. Job Search Strategies The job search process has evolved, and there are more tools than ever to help you find opportunities. Heres how to make the most of them.
Utilizing Online Job Portals: Websites like LinkedIn, Indeed, and Glassdoor are excellent resources for finding job openings. Set up job alerts to be notified when positions that match your criteria are posted. Also, make sure your LinkedIn profile is up to date, as many recruiters use the platform to find candidates.
Networking: Never underestimate the power of networking. Many jobs aren’t advertised publicly, so having a strong network can give you access to these hidden opportunities. Reach out to former colleagues, attend industry events, and engage with professionals in your field online.
Company Research: Take the time to research companies that interest you. What’s their culture like? What are their values? By understanding more about a company, you can tailor your application to align with what they’re looking for and stand out as a candidate. 4. Acing the Interview Getting an interview is a big step, but it’s just the beginning. Now it’s time to show them why you’re the best fit for the role.
Preparation is Key: Before the interview, research the company thoroughly. Understand their products, services, culture, and recent news. Practice answering common interview questions, and prepare examples that showcase your skills and experience. Dressing appropriately is also important—when in doubt, it’s better to be slightly overdressed than underdressed.
Showcasing Your Skills: During the interview, be clear about what you bring to the table. Use specific examples from your past experience to demonstrate how you’ve successfully handled similar tasks or challenges. Remember, it’s not just about what you’ve done, but how it’s relevant to the role you’re applying for.
Asking the Right Questions: An interview is a two-way street. Prepare a few thoughtful questions to ask the interviewer. This shows that you’re genuinely interested in the role and helps you gather important information about whether the company is the right fit for you. 5. Follow-Up After the interview, don’t just sit back and wait. Taking a few extra steps can make a big difference.
Sending a Thank-You Note: A simple thank-you email can go a long way. Express your appreciation for the opportunity to interview, reiterate your interest in the role, and briefly mention why you believe you’re a great fit. It’s a small gesture that can leave a positive impression.
Staying in Touch: If you don’t hear back right away, don’t panic. It’s okay to send a polite follow-up email after a week or so. This keeps you on the employer’s radar without being too pushy. 6. Handling Rejection Rejection is a normal part of the job search process, but it doesn’t make it any less disappointing. Here’s how to handle it constructively.
Keeping a Positive Mindset: It’s easy to get discouraged, but try to stay positive. Every “no” is one step closer to a “yes.” Keep reminding yourself that the right opportunity is out there, and you just need to keep moving forward.
Learning from Feedback: If you’re fortunate enough to receive feedback after a rejection, use it to your advantage. Reflect on what you could improve and apply those lessons to your next application or interview.
Staying Persistent: The job search can be a long process, but persistence pays off. Keep applying, keep refining your approach, and eventually, you’ll land the right role. Conclusion Job searching can be tough, but by following these tips, you’ll be better equipped to navigate the process and find a role that’s a great fit for you. Remember, it’s all about preparation, persistence, and maintaining a positive mindset. Keep pushing forward, and don’t hesitate to ask for help or advice along the way. Good luck with your job search—you’ve got this!

Trusted outsource software development teams - SSTech System
Outsource software development is the practice of relinquishing software-related duties to outside singularities or organizations. Outsourcing is used by firms to acquire software services and products from outside firms that do not have direct employees or employees under contract to the business entity that is outsourcing.
Infect, the outsourcing market worldwide is projected to grow by 8.28% (2025-2029) resulting in a market volume of US$812.70bn in 2029. This model is highly versatile and suits businesses of all sizes.
Start-ups often use outsourcing to develop MVPs quickly, while established companies might seek custom software development services or AI outsourcing services to address complex challenges. Outsourcing can include working with offshore development teams, global software development partners, or local experts like Australian software development experts for specific projects.
The benefits of outsourcing software development
Outsourcing has become a cornerstone for modern businesses due to its numerous advantages. Here’s a closer look at the key benefits:
1. Cost efficiency
Perhaps the biggest incentive for sourcing solutions from outsourcing service providers is the cost cutting factor. For instance, offshore software development in India provides expertise services at comparatively lower cost than that of in-house developed services in Western countries. This efficiency enable the enactments of cost savings in some other strategic sectors of the organization.
2. Access to global talent
Outsourcing can help to discover the wealth of new talents as well as the skills of professionals from other countries. No matter Whether it’s AI and machine learning integration, web application development in Australia, or outsourced healthcare software development, businesses can find experts in virtually any domain.
3. Scalability and flexibility
Outsourcing offers flexibility that is unparalleled in many organizations today. This is because; firms are able to expand and contract particular teams depending on the specific demand in projects. For example, outsourced IT solutions help business organizations prepare for different conditions while not having to employ permanent workers.
4. Faster time-to-market
With reliable software development teams in Australia or offshore development teams in India, businesses can speed up their project timelines. This helps innovations to make it through to the market early enough, which is useful for companies.
5. Focus on core activities
By delegating tasks like software maintenance and support or cloud software development in Australia to outsourcing partners, businesses can focus on their core competencies and strategic goals.
6. Reduced risk
In-house staff and trained outsourcing partners come with best practices, methods and procedures which when implemented reduce the chances of project hitch. Working with the top-rated IT outsourcing companies in Australia gives you confidence that your project is in safe hands.
Choosing the right outsourced software development partner
In the period from 2023 to 2027, the revenue of software outsourcing is forecasted to thrive at a CAGR of 7.54%. So, outsourcing partner selection is one of the most vital components since it determines the success of a given venture. Here are essential factors to consider:
1. Technical expertise
Check the partner’s competency and his knowledge of the field. For instance, SSTech System Outsourcing offers comprehensive solutions, from AI development services in India to mobile app development outsourcing in Australia.
2. Proven track record
Look for partners with a strong portfolio and positive client testimonials. A proven track record in delivering custom software development services or managing outsourcing software development contracts is a good indicator of reliability.
3. Effective communication
Effective and open communication is extremely important if the project is to be successful. Work with people who give frequent reports and employ efficient media to overcome the differences in time areas.
4. Cultural compatibility
There has to be a cultural match or at least appreciation for each other’s customs for there to be harmony in the working relationship. As such, staffed with proficient Australia software development experts or offshore development teams, whose experience is to work on global markets can coordinate and blend well with your work culture.
5. Security and compliance
You have to make sure that your partner complies with the standards and the policies that are in the industry. This is especially substantial for all information-sensitive projects such as outsourced healthcare software development or cloud software development in Australia.
6. Scalable infrastructure
Choose a partner capable of scaling their resources and infrastructure to meet your project’s evolving needs. This is crucial for long-term collaborations, especially with global software development partners.
AI-powered tools for outsourced development teams
According to a report from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, software development ranks among the most sought-after professions. Hence, AI is at the forefront of reshaping the outsourcing industry. Therefore, the implementation of artificial intelligence will add value to business processes, make workflow easier, and boost the results of projects. Here are some examples:
1. Automated code reviews
Tools like DeepCode and SonarQube assist outsourced teams in detecting whether errors reside in the code line or not, and whether code needs to be enriched or not. This is particularly accurate concerning AI outsourcing and in-house development industries.
2. Predictive analytics
Automated analytics tools can predict such things as the time it will take to complete the project, how much money it will cost, and what risks are possible in a software development outsourcing scenario.
3. Smart project management
Tools and platforms such as Jira and Monday.com, when empowered with AI, allow the coordination of tasks and the tracking of progress and resource allocation.
4. AI collaboration tools
Communication and collaboration with internal members and offshore software development Australia partners get facilitated through applications that include, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and zoom with integrated AI functions.
5. Natural Language Processing (NLP)
AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants simplify communication and issue resolution, making them valuable for managing outsourced IT solutions.
Best practices for managing outsourced development teams
Outsourced teams should be mandated and coordinated following a number of recommendations to ensure the efficiency of the entirety of the outsourcing process.
Here are the best practices to ensure your project’s success:
1. Set clear objectives
Make it clear to your project team, stakeholders, and other relevant parties what the parameters of the project are, what it is that you expect out of it, and what you expect to get from it in return. This fostaines consistency between your team and the outsourcing partner to increase efficiency in service delivery.
2. Choose the right tools
Use project tracking and collaboration software approaches to track and evaluate progress and meet regular informality and collaboration targets.
3. Foster a collaborative environment
It is worthy of note that constant communication is key to ensuring that your outsourcing team is on the same page with you. Fresh produce and feedback mechanisms need to be provided in order for there to be trust as is needed in project management.
4. Draft comprehensive contracts
There should be a comprehensive outsourcing software development contract. It should address issues to do with confidentiality, ownership of ideas and concepts, plea structure and mode of handling disputes.
5. Focus on long-term relationships
Building a long-term partnership with trusted providers like SSTech System Solutions can lead to consistent quality and better project outcomes.
Conclusion
To keep up with technology, outsourcing software development offers businesses solutions and support that can enable the creation of complex solutions out of mere ideas. Outsourcing has the benefits of minute overhead cost and is also a rich source of globally talented employees, and it offers the advantage of early time to market. Whether you’re looking for mobile app development outsourcing in Australia or seeking offshore software development in India or opting for AI outsourcing services, the potential is huge.
Such companies can only benefit from opting for reliable outsourcing companies such as SSTech System Outsourcing and embracing industry best practices to promote the success of business project implementations while enhancing market relevance.
