You can submit to Alys and Wiz (Underwizard Alphys and Sans) a character, OC or not, and they will reply with "Kiss" or "Pass". Kiss literally means if they'd like to kiss that character, while Pass means they are not interested in them (no offense lmao). I will also try to doodle each submission taken if I have the energies.

Showa Godzilla and Showa Mothra = ENEMIES (Okay, they're enemies and they both wished to stay each other's asses and their family to ensure the safety and secure of their family clan; still they dislike each other frequently whenever they passed by their homes or just...comment snidely to one another)

Heisei Godzilla and Heisei Mothra = Neutral (Heisei Mothra is married to Heisei Battra and they both raised a son named Leo. )

GMK Godzilla and GMK Mothra = Yeah partners-in-crime (both have family issues and ran away, eventually the two meet each other and become roommates shared in one rented apartment; I supposed they might be enemies but, here's the fact: they both dated each other secretly without getting caught)

Millenium Godzilla and Millenium Mothra = Friends obviously (Millenium Mothra still raising her twin children alone)

MV Godzilla and MV Mothra = MARRIED COUPLE!!! (Childhood friends; both lived in their family clan; inseparable until they were married and moved on to their new home; start raising your future kids would you?!)

Ooh I’m sure you’ll have fun! Thanks for asking - here’s some places I like to take a look at, all very central. (Answering on the blog in case anyone else want to chip in with more suggestions?)

Museums:

-Musée Congnac-Jay: a sweet little mini museum of mostly 18th century things, and can have some interesting temporary exhibits. Some real gems in a lovely building. Round the corner from the Carnavalet.

-Musée de la Chase et de Nature: bit of an odd one, as it’s technically ’Hunting and Nature’, but it’s set up as a little kunstkammer type mixed bag of contemporary installations (around their base collection of animal-themed artistic objects). Contains taxidermy.

-Place des Vosges: idk, it’s pretty, it’s old, if I was a musketeer I’d hang out here. Fancy square, has trees, has food, has a Victor Hugo museum I think?

Perfume:

-the best place for a wide range of niche brands all together is Jovoy, which is near the Place Vendome bc of course it is. The store is a bit dark and a bit quiet, making it the opposite of department store browsing, but the SA’s are friendly if you tell them what you like.

-Others: the little old 34 St Germain flagship of Diptyque is always fun, it’s just pretty with its wood panelling and whatnot. The various standalone boutiques for L’Artisan Parfumeur, and Parfums de Nicolaï can be nice to pop into.

Really says something about the dire state of offerings for men interested in sewing their own clothes that even searching things like "interesting men's clothing patterns" brings up articles with links to four or five whole websites that primarily offer admittedly nice but practically identical patterns for making button-ups and work pants and maybe a varsity/bomber jacket if you're lucky.

(Branching out into historical costuming for everyday wear is like your one shot at variation, and even then, the ratio of men's to women's patterns on every website is frustrating to say the least.)

Patternmakers as a trans man I am begging you. Give me a little more to work with here.

One of my biggest nitpicks in fiction concerns the feeding of babies. Mothers dying during/shortly after childbirth or the baby being separated form the mother shortly after birth is pretty common in fiction. It is/was also common enough in real life, which is why I think a lot of writers/readers don't think too hard about this. however. Historically, the only reason the vast majority of babies survived being separated from their mother was because there was at least one other woman around to breastfeed them. Before modern formula, yes, people did use other substitutes, but they were rarely, if ever, nutritionally sufficient.

Newborns can't eat adult food. They can't really survive on animal milk. If your story takes place in a world before/without formula, a baby separated from its mother is going to either be nursed by someone else, or starve.

It doesn't have to be a huge plot point, but idk at least don't explicitly describe the situation as excluding the possibility of a wetnurse. "The father or the great grandmother or the neighbor man or the older sibling took and raised the baby completely alone in a cave for a year." Nope. That baby is dead I'm sorry. "The baby was kidnapped shortly after birth by a wizard and hidden away in a secret tower" um quick question was the wizard lactating? "The mother refused to see or touch her child after birth so the baby was left to the care of the ailing grandfather" the grandfather who made the necessary arrangements with women in the neighborhood, right? right? OR THAT GREAT OFFENDER "A newborn baby was left on the doorstep and they brought it in and took care of it no issues" What Are You Going to Feed That Baby. Hello?

Like. It's not impossible, but arrangements are going to have to be made. There are some logistics.
