Anorexia Nervosa Central London
Anorexia nervosa is a serious mental health disorder characterized by extreme restriction of food intake or excessive exercise, often driven by a desire to maintain an unhealthily low body weight. Individuals with anorexia may have a distorted body image, seeing themselves as overweight even when underweight. This relentless focus on thinness can lead to critical health risks, including heart complications, a weakened immune system, and potential organ failure.
At the Eating Disorder & Addiction Specialists Group in Central London, we provide empathetic, specialized care for those affected by anorexia. Our treatment approach addresses both the psychological and physical aspects of the disorder, supporting clients in building a healthier relationship with food and self-image. With a focus on individualized care, our team uses therapeutic methods to uncover and address underlying emotional factors that contribute to anorexia.
For more information or to get support for yourself or a loved one, please contact us at 0333 339 2430, or visit our website.

"In a new interview for BBC‘s Desert Island Discs, Moss revealed she actually can’t be credited with creating the slogan, either, but rather she adopted it after seeing it on the fridge of her then-housemate, hairdresser James Brown, who had added it to their kitchen as a joke. “So basically I was doing an interview and at the time I was living with Jimmy B and a friend and she was a bit of a snacker,” Moss said.
“So on the fridge, Jimmy B had written ‘Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.’ I don’t know why but it just popped into my mind because that’s what was happening at the time, we were saying it because it was funny,” Moss said. “But it was completely taken out of context.”"
Kate Moss also retracted that statement and issued public apologies for it. Bella Hadid grew up with a toxic almond mom.
And Mean Girls is a movie. It is fake and meant for laughs, not to be taken seriously. You wouldn't repeat the actions in Legally Blonde to get into Harvard, right? Exactly, so why are you repeating dangerous diets on yourself?
To the ana girls who think they're better cuz they are skinny:
You are not kate moss, bella hadid, or the next-it girl. This isn't "Mean Girls", this is real life. You don't get to bully fat people cuz you're skinny. No, you're not being 'real' you're being a loser.

26th February 2024
There are these teen runners achieving unbelievable things: breaking records, attaining Olympic qualifiers, beating world champions.
When I look at these teens, I recognise the strength and fullness in their bodies. Their photos are splashed over social media and I wonder, "Do they look at their bodies and will themselves smaller?"
Don't get me wrong, I do not think that they are too big. They look fit, healthy and strong. Yet I know that 17 year old me would scrutinise every minuscule details of those photos and say over and over, "Not good enough".
Since puberty, I cannot remember a time in my life that I have felt comfortable in my own skin. Even when achieving success, I would still be hyper critical of how my body appeared to others as though that was the most important part of my existence.
Of course, I have had a mental illness since then. That is apparent to me now. So I wonder how freeing it would be to not have those thoughts, that snarling voice that chatters in your ear excessively. I wish I knew what it would be like to be that successful in sport and not fuel for appearance, rather fuel your body for the benefit of your performance. Maybe my life would have looked differently if I didn't feel so conflicted about my weight and shape.

Anorexia Recovery Research Project
Hi guys, my name is Phoebe, I am currently completing my Master's degree in clinical psychology and mental health at Swansea university. My dissertation project is exploring the factors that contribute to successful recovery from anorexia nervosa. The aim of the study is to hopefully solidify what factors positively influence recovery, for these to contribute to current research and create a more efficient recovery plan for current and future sufferers. The research will include meeting with the researcher (myself) via Microsoft Teams for a discussion around your personal experiences of recovery, that will last around 45-60 minutes. All information provided will be completely anonymised. I would be extremely grateful for anyone who wishes to take part. If you think this is something you would like to take part in, please either message me directly or email me at [email protected]
This research is being conducted Phoebe Davies (Email: [email protected]), the research is being supervised by Dr Rachael Hunter (Email: [email protected]).
This research has been approved by the School of Psychology Research Ethics Sub-Committee, Swansea University.
Disclaimer** We ask that any participants be over the age of 18 and are not currently receiving treatment for anorexia nervosa.

COMMON SYMPTOMS OF AN EATING DISORDER
Eating disorders are complex mental health conditions that can have serious physical and psychological consequences. There are several types of eating disorders, but some common symptoms that may indicate the presence of an eating disorder include:
Drastic Changes in Weight: Significant and rapid changes in body weight, either through excessive weight loss or weight gain, can be a warning sign.
Preoccupation with Food and Calories: An individual may become obsessed with food, counting calories, and following strict dietary rules.
Distorted Body Image: People with eating disorders often have a distorted perception of their body size and shape. They may believe they are overweight, even if they are underweight or at a healthy weight.
Restrictive Eating Patterns: Limiting food intake, avoiding whole food groups, or eating infrequently and insufficiently, which results in malnutrition.
Binge Eating: Consuming large amounts of food in a short period, often accompanied by a feeling of loss of control.A “best psychiatrist near me” or therapist can provide individualized treatment plans to help you or your loved one on the path to healing and recovery.
Purging Behaviors: Engaging in behaviors to compensate for food intake, such as self-induced vomiting, misuse of laxatives, diuretics, or excessive exercise.
Social Withdrawal: Withdrawing from social activities, especially those involving food, due to anxiety or guilt around eating. When seeking help for an eating disorder, it's essential to find a “psychologist near me” or mental health professional who has experience and expertise in treating eating disorders.

Beyond proud to say I am now the proudly leasing Ruger. I lost my heart horse in 2014 which was the tipping point in my self destruction and riding really never felt the same again until I gave it up for boys and partying in 2016. Inspired by a book simply called “Horse” at the start of 2024, I found my trainer and quickly bonded with Ruger who was being boarded there. His owner agreed to only let me ride him and since then, I knew the universe sent Ruger for a reason. And once again, horses became my tipping point…but this time in a good way. I took my recovery more serious for real, knowing I needed to be healthy to ride. My Ruger, God knows my prayers for you. I am so so happy.

paper doll
like a paper doll i’m trimming and thinning myself to fit paper dresses, less is more, and i love myself more when i’m less, i’m weight- less, i strive to be light. highlight my collarbones with shadow and hide in their pits i don’t think i’ll get lower than this, than these nights knelt on tiles that crack under my weight, my face framed in porcelain, reaching inside myself ‘til i’m…

OVERCOME
There’s a war going on for our souls. Without the weapons God provides, we cannot overcome. We cannot win this war without God. In the darkest decades of my life, Christ revealed Himself to me in ways I did not recognize at the time. Lost in addiction and despair, my soul was filled with unrest. I could not exist, or so I believed, without the physical escape alcohol provided me. I drank to…
