Revisiting more non-ghoul anomalous persons on campus(although I do think there'd be something to Moby being the only one. . . .)
I remember posting about a Gorgon and I think maybe she would do well as like. A Darkwick General nurse. Because DG is an inpatient facility, they don't do outpatient work. So if she, as somebody who is able to curse people(or, well, it really depends on how much of one's body has turned to stone if it's an illness or a curse,) were to take an interest in long term curse care, I think that would make sense right?
And then I thought of another OC. . .a minotaur who teaches(or is currently substituting for the person who normally teaches) Enigmatology. . .obviously she specializes in anomalous mazes and escape rooms that use anomalies and the like.
I just. Want to explore the idea of anomalous peoples being integrated into society or into the Institute and its staff. Because while I'm sure Moby is a rare case, I'd like to think there are at least a handful of others. The Anomalous Investigation Institute is everywhere in the world after all.
I imagine none of them are particularly well regarded, especially by the general students. Understandably this makes them keep to themselves more to avoid abuse(and avoid causing a scene or inconveniencing others or risking things being turned around on them) which tends to reflect poorly on them because people don't see or understand what they're going through or think that if there was a problem they'd get help from Darkwick or the Institute(of course this is discouraged--don't wanna ruin the lives of students who have so much ahead of them or who will contribute to the world and Institute at large! Unlike them who, as anomalies, simply aren't allowed to be in public at all which makes them less valuable. . .even among the Institute in many places around the world the prejudice against anomalies being 'people' is strong)
But they're passionate about what they do! And about a future where maybe anomalous societies/peoples can at least be somewhat apart of the world--even if they have to be hidden away they could at least be part of the Institute and make things better for anomalies and people and maybe someday there could be a world where they all live in harmony, as one. Maybe they don't all believe that but doing something for everybody's lives is good right?
I also like to think there's a school-like facility for young anomalous persons taken in by the Institute to be raised/trained/taught to be contributing members of human society [in the background because they obviously can't just be out there]. And maybe one of them could be a Darkwick student. And this is the first time they're among humans meant to be their 'peers' and kind of among human society and it's all very nerve-wracking especially when they aren't treated well. . .but they still try and fit in and contribute and such.
I just think there's a potential for exploration there. Of person-like anomalies and how they exist within the microsociety of the Institute's network.
(also all of them are scared of Towa--because anomalies are often afraid of Towa--and Taiga--because he just looks at them and gets hungry lol.)
#danie yells at tokyo debunker#like i feel like people forget that the general students don't really regard the ghouls well on average#like they must treat anomalous people like moby even worse#i think that's a big part of why moby doesn't often go out. it's just. not comfortable walking around someplace where people look at you#like you're less than them. and what are you supposed to do confront them all? especially when your superiors don't care?#idk. i just think it's a neat thing to explore.#also if an anomalous student was a yokai. . .would they be auto placed into hotarubi? :|a#obscuary is for non-human GHOULS not just nonhumans. so i would assume they wouldn't be placed there. maybe jabberwock#but jabberwock may also be considered 'ghoul only' as opposed to :no general students'#but a yokai is specifically a japanese anomaly. and hotarubi is the house that deals with specificlaly japanese anomalies#so would their soul be weighed or would they just say 'you're in hotarubi' and be done with it. . . . .#just. i like worldbuilding haha so i think about stuff like this i guess#i think about how all of this must be for the general students/regular human staff too#the ones who aren't like clearly researchers and specialists regarding anonalies like the professors we know so far#like if you don't have a pre-understanding of anomalies or something if this wasn't part of your life before then like#then when all of this stuff is new it must be so much more jarring. i wish the pc was in first year classes instead of mostly second#so we could have seen first years' reaction to moby. get a feel for that kind of thing

'It makes sense if you think about it. After whatever happened last year.'
Leo stared blankly into the last frame of the youtube video on his screen, leaning his chair back to balance on two legs. The corner of the library he'd tucked himself into for research was quiet enough, with even the cats rarely poking their heads by to check on him. Technically he wasn't looking into anything restricted that he'd need to hide for, but he didn't want the noise to potentially be a distraction.
'The weird thing is that there clearly aren't many ghosts around here.'
He drops the chair back down and looks through the Clash memorials. It's a lot of people. Mostly human. He tabs back over to the recent memorials made for victims of the anomalous inpatient. For a while after that there were quite a few ghosts around the campus and the ruined hospital. Leo could sometimes hear the airy, echoey whispers of their voices when he passed by. One or two were strong enough to be seen. In the days following it got quieter and quieter until the only sounds were the living. He remembered seeing students from a few different houses going to the area now and then. Kusanagi, too.
One of those students was a friend of one of the Vagastrom students--he remembered him bringing them over, convinced something was haunting the area.
Ex-Clementia then.
Darkwick was just laying damn near any ghost on campus to rest without letting them stick around and resolve their business? Even if they aren't dangerous? Kind of scummy, but probably just a precautionary measure. Spirits were a little unpredictable.
'A video would be a bad idea then. Too much publicity.' He's only cruel for no reason when it's funny. There's not really any humor in double-shotting a guy who doesn't deserve it. 'But it'd still be interesting to know what's going on there. I'd just have to find a covert way to ask. . .they might be monitoring our messages too much for me to go through YouTube.'
In person would have to do. At some point. Just another thing on his eternal to-do list! Leo stretched and groaned, listening to the pop of muscle and crack of bone and every other reaction his body gave to the movement.
If Taro Kirisaki(Zenji Kotodama, rather, using his name would probably attract too much attention) was a ghost that meant ghouls' souls were probably still intact enough to leave spirits behind, even if they weren't very strong spirits. More importantly if his ghost was still hanging out after this long it meant whatever demon he'd made a pact with hadn't come for him. That or something kept demons from coming to Darkwick, which was unlikely considering how little was really known about demons. If pact-makers did, at some point, unconsciously(?) consume their demons after making their pacts then the demons' souls probably didn't integrate with their own. Either they were neutralized(erased? Laid to rest?) or they were housed within the body and released on death. And there were no records of unknown S-class anomalies or demons appearing after the death of Taro Kirisaki. He died at Darkwick General, there would have to be a report somewhere if something like that happened. That or it was kept majorly under wraps.
And of course no one wanted to talk about The Clash so asking would be difficult right now. He needed a better rapport with the third and second years to get them to talk. But even Romeo didn't want to talk about it too much, and Leo was one of the only people Romeo trusted right now!
Leo exhaled sharply through his nose.
Why is it that everything kind of interesting was always just out of reach? It was like being edged on entertainment and knowledge. That was only fun when there was a good payoff.
Maybe Zenji would prove to be a good payoff in the end. He probably wouldn't know anything--or he wouldn't tell him anything--but maybe he would at least be entertaining.

From Mystery to Method: The Systematic Pursuit of UAP Understanding
The recent congressional hearing on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon (UAP) has shed new light on the intricacies of investigating these enigmatic events, formerly shrouded in secrecy and stigma. Dr. Jon Kosloski's testimony, as Director of the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), provided a nuanced exploration of the challenges and advancements in UAP research, underscoring the delicate balance between transparency and national security.
By acknowledging the lack of verifiable evidence supporting extraterrestrial activity or technology, the hearing effectively tempered sensational expectations, instead highlighting the mundane explanations behind most reported UAP sightings, such as misidentified balloons, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), and satellites. Nevertheless, the small yet intriguing percentage of potentially anomalous cases warrants sustained scrutiny, necessitating enhanced analytical frameworks and concerted interagency cooperation.
The emphasis on fostering an environment conducive to stigma-free reporting is a laudable step forward, with the forthcoming public reporting mechanism slated for mid-2025 poised to enrich the diversity and quantity of collectible data. However, to truly harness the potential of this initiative, it is crucial that the reporting system is designed with user-centricity in mind, incorporating intuitive, automated processing to facilitate seamless engagement with the public.
AARO's strategic priorities, as outlined by Dr. Kosloski, offer a thoughtful roadmap for future endeavors, with the declassification of UAP-related information emerging as a pivotal element in promoting transparency. To leverage this approach effectively, it is essential that the declassification process is executed with precision, striking a balance between illuminating the public and safeguarding sensitive sources and methods. Furthermore, cultivating robust partnerships with academic institutions, facilitated by the strategic release of previously classified data, could prove instrumental in unlocking novel insights into UAP phenomena.
As the landscape of UAP research continues to evolve, it is imperative that congressional oversight remains proactive, with regular hearings scheduled to monitor progress, address emerging complexities, and ensure alignment with the dynamic priorities of national security. Through such a concerted effort, the truths underlying UAP may gradually come to light, contributing meaningfully to both the enrichment of our understanding and the enhancement of national security protocols.

I've told this story before: in January of 2020, about six months after I started this job -- where we support lung disease research and help patients with lung disease -- I emailed a colleague that we were getting an unusually high number of donations for a new year. Lots of people give at the end of the year but this much giving in January was anomalous. My colleague, who had been here a few years longer than me, came over to my cubicle and said, "I need to tell you why this happens."
He explained, with a kindness born of having lost family this way, that the giving wasn't strange for us and would happen every year. It was memorial giving, because if you have weakened lungs or a compromised immune system, sometimes winter is simply what kills you. The cold, or a new flu strain, or pneumonia. January is the worst because people travel in December. And then our people, whether they travel or get visitors and even if they take every precaution, they get sick. And they die.
I had to sit with that for a while.
It's been better during the pandemic, actually, because our people can work from home, can stay indoors; masking has lowered flu transmission. We still see more deaths in winter, but not at the rate of that first winter I was here. And for a long time they were just names -- I saw my colleagues mourn sometimes, but they actually knew these people. I didn't, except as names in the data.
This year that has started to change. For the first time, because for the last two years I've had closer contact with our donors and clients, I've known people who died. One was my age. Another passed over the Thanksgiving weekend; I just got the news from an email. It's better getting an email, honestly. The alternative is finding out when I get the weekly giving report and see their name in the "in memory of" column of the spreadsheet. I'm dreading January's reports.
I work next to death all the time; I read obituaries for a living. I'm fine and will be fine. It's a good reminder to think about what's important and it has made me a better, kinder person, because sometimes death is there at my elbow saying, does this matter?
But some days are a little harder than others.

So y'all know the Gravity Falls production bible that leaked three weeks ago. Someone in one of my discord servers pointed this out:
Tumblr media
And, naturally, that spawned an entire AU.
AU Concept: Ford was kicked out instead of Stan and takes a job as a trucker to makes ends meet since he couldn't go to college, while still studying the weird and anomalous however he can.
Tumblr media
Ford driving around from quirky small town to quirky small town, drifting through the liminal spaces of truck stops, meeting odd people in isolated diners, seeing strange things out on the road—a deer with too many eyes bounding across a two-lane highway, a flirty woman at a rest stop who doesn't blink or breathe, mysterious lights in the sky at night, inhuman growls on the CB or 50-year-old broadcasts on the radio—and taking notes when he stops for gas or food.
Aside from having gotten kicked out before graduating high school, Ford's the same person he is in canon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's still an ambitious guy, and here "ambitious" means working hard and saving as much money as he can—so, a long haul owner-operator who spends weeks at a time on the road. (He goes through a LOT of educational audiobooks.) Plus, this is the easiest way for him to get to travel the country; and since it looks like his "travel the world" dreams with Stan are dead, he'll take what he can get.
Since he's never in the same spot long and carries his life in a truck, almost all of Ford's research is in his journal. His bag of investigation supplies has an instant camera, a portable tape recorder, a thermometer, a flashlight, rubber gloves, and a few zip lock bags—and that's about it. It has to share space with all his clothes, toiletries, and nonperishable food when he's on the road. He doesn't have much opportunity to closely examine anything odd he finds, unless he's lucky enough to run into something when he can stop for the night. He has to cram his paranormal research around the side of his full-time job.
He doesn't live in Gravity Falls, but he knows it exists. Every time he moves—to Chicago, to Nebraska, to California—he seems to inch closer. He currently lives in Portland and usually hauls loads between the Pacific Northwest and Chicago or New York. He stops at the truck stop outside Gravity Falls when he can and has gone fishing in town a few times. He doesn't have the benefit of extensive research to know that this is the weirdest town in the world; but it seems pretty weird to him, there are local rumors about the town, and he's had some weird experiences in the area.
Tumblr media
Plus, he can't explain it, but it's like the town's calling to him. He wants to move there, but it'd put him over an hour outside of Portland where the nearest jobs are. Maybe if somebody chucked him like $100k to build a cabin in the woods; but what are the odds of that?
He does know Fiddleford. Truck broke down somewhere and Fiddleford kindly pulled over to fix it on the fly. They looked at each other, had mutual knee-jerk "dumb trucker/hillbilly" reactions, and within ten minutes both went "oh wait you're the most brilliant genius i've ever met." Fiddleford's living the same life he was in canon before Ford called him to Gravity Falls—with his family in California, trying to start a computer company out of his garage—but they make friends and keep in contact.
One time Ford stops at a kitschy roadside knickknack store that also sells new agey magic things—crystals, tarot cards, incense, etc. He bought a "lucky" rearview mirror ornament that looks like an Eye of Providence in a top hat and hung it from his cab fan, and ever since then he's had weird dreams whenever he sleeps in his truck.
Tumblr media
Things I don't know yet: what Stan's up to; or why Ford's the one who got kicked out. I tend to believe that in canon Stan wasn't just kicked out because he ruined Ford's college prospects, but rather because the family thought he deliberately sabotaged Ford; so in this AU, Ford would've been kicked out over a proportionate crime.

How do mutants in the Facility live?
Patreon Loredump. August 2023
One of the most frequent types of questions I get are about life in the Facility. So it seems like a good topic to start my loredumping series with!
Apologies in advance for all the photo examples, I hope they work fine for getting the vibes across.
Overview
Tumblr media
The facility dome is visible in the distance.
The facility in general – or, as it’s officially known, the Zh. I. Alferov National Institute of Anomalous Research – is a large structure located on the border of the Zone. Its most notable feature is the massive dome surrounded by an outside wall.
Tumblr media
The wall. In real life, the famous building of НИЦЭВТ.
The latter is a building in itself, containing offices, lecture halls, resting and dining quarters for researchers, as well as minor labs. All entrances are supervised, though not totally closed off to the public. Excursions, official meetings, TV reports – all of those happen within the wall.
But you will not find any mutants here. As you may have already guessed, all the major laboratories, anomalous artefacts, and, of course, mutants are housed in the dome. The entrances to the dome are monitored and equipped with anomaly scanners, allowing only authorised personnel and mutants to travel between its sectors.
Tumblr media
Mutants cannot traverse the facility unsupervised.
What is the mutant classification system?
Depending on their anomalous characteristics, cooperability and method of containment, mutants are sorted into types and numbered groups. Individual mutant numbers usually look like XT000-000.
Let’s use Dmitry as an example.
Tumblr media
Dima’s serial number is DT001-319.
The type constitutes the first part of the mutant’s number. Dima’s mutation is Directional Type, hence the letters DT at the start (for the record, KT stands for Kernel Type).
Next we have the 00X number. Mutants are assigned a 001, 002, 003 or 004 class depending on the potency and containability of their mutation – kinda like SCPs, yeah. Dima has a very powerful mutation he has good control over, plus he is sound of mind, making him suitable for 001 containment.
The last three digits are the overall number of the mutant within their type. So if Dima’s are 319, the facility has had 318 directional-type mutants on record prior to his arrival. This does not mean they were as powerful or had the same level of control over their telekinesis, just that they possessed a similar mutation to some extent.
How do different mutant classes live?
001
Tumblr media
001 quarters example. Not too different from a hospital or sanatorium
Subjects ranked as 001 are extremely powerful, have good control over their powers and are, most importantly, docile. Since their mutations are very potent and difficult to forcefully contain, the go-to approach is making them not want to leave.
001s spend most (if not all) of their conscious lives surrounded by doctors. The latter foster a particular mindset in their subjects, where the world outside is presented as a place that is unanimously hostile to mutants. This is done by means of propaganda, reminders about their family’s supposed mistreatment and, in case a mutant has some favourable recollections of their childhood, gaslighting. Additionally, subjects are never left alone with each other.
001s get very luxurious treatment by facility's standards, with much bigger, more comfortable rooms than other mutant types. They're even allowed to have gaming consoles, TVs with VHS and video players, and their own bookshelves. Each mutant has their own separate room, which is kept under constant camera surveillance with the toilet being the only blind spot.
Tumblr media
Special folders are issued to 001s before experiments with lower-ranked mutants.
Experiments held on 001s are relatively humane so as not to discourage them from staying at the facility. They do undergo daily checkups mostly designed to monitor their mental state. 001s are also active participants in experimentation on lower-ranked mutants, who they are taught and encouraged to treat as lesser beings.
001s are a high-risk investment, so their numbers are far smaller than those of 002 and 003-class mutants. Additionally, because of the potential danger they present, the institute is quick to dispose of 001 subjects by either termination or reclassification to 004. Though, if a 001 manages to stay cooperative long-term, they can become a very valuable asset for the facility.
002 and 003
Tumblr media
002 and 003 quarters example. Though, they’re typically not as well-kept
002 and 003 mutant classes can be grouped together, since their treatment is largely the same. Both of these types’ mutations are easy to forcibly contain. The difference is their danger levels. 003s require close monitoring to not be harmful to others, while 002s are borderline harmless. Both types are characterised by general cooperability.
002s live in wards for 2 to 4 people, while 003s are more commonly placed in single-person wards to prevent accidents. A standard room includes a bed, a desk and a small bathroom (multiple beds and two desks in bigger wards).
Tumblr media
KT got to take a dinosaur plushie to her room for good behaviour.
Mutants are allowed to borrow books from the library, as well as get drawing and writing materials. If they behave well, they can get a toy or even be lent a handheld console for a few days.
002s and 003s have breakfasts, lunches and dinners together, and can spend some time in the playroom with other mutants (that’s also where they can play computer games and watch TV) – all under very strict surveillance, of course.
In some ways, their treatment is much less cruel than that of the elite 001 subjects.
Tumblr media
KT before the DT experiment.
Though, not when it comes to experiments. 002s and 003s are very common, and are thus treated as disposable material in a scientific sense. The people holding experiments on them are a lot less concerned with minimising the subject’s pain or discomfort. Consequently, it’s not uncommon for mutants of these classes to sustain serious injuries or die as a result of experimentation.
That said, 002s have the highest likelihood of getting released from the facility, given they meet the conditions for it (more on that below).
004
Tumblr media
004 quarters example. Basically a prison bunker
004 is a special category reserved for powerful mutants that refuse or physically cannot cooperate. This number can also be issued as a temporary or permanent punishment to misbehaving mutants. The 004 quarters are located underground and have the highest level of security, acting as a sort of bunker for the most dangerous subjects the facility has.
004 rooms are even more barebones than those of 002 and 003s. They have no access to entertainment (unless it is somehow required to contain their mutation) and cannot leave their room under any circumstances. They are more weapons than test subjects.
Do mutants receive education?
All mutants from class 003 and above receive basic education, learning to read, write and count. They additionally get curated history and sociology lessons. Some mutants, namely 001s, attend mandatory classes in certain disciplines to better apply their mutation. For example, Dmitry studied anatomy to know the precise positioning of internal organs.
Mutants are also free to study whatever sciences interest them in their free time by asking for educational materials at the library. Needless to say, most kids aren’t too interested in that, and are very uneducated compared to their outside peers.
Is there censorship in the facility?
All the media mutants are exposed to at the facility is strictly controlled.
Tumblr media
6 y.o. Dima and his politically correct PSP.
The only movies, cartoons, comics, books and games allowed are those that either don't feature the Zone or mutants at all, those that show the discrimination mutants face outside, or those that are very obvious anti-mutant propaganda.
In essence, there are no positive depictions of human-to-mutant interaction, aside from ones between mutants and noble scientists. And, of course, nothing that goes against the general government ideology.
Can mutants be released from the facility?
It is generally assumed that mutants that go into the dome do not come out.
While they are largely dehumanised, the facility is still publicly presented as a sort of scientific sanatorium and hospice for those that cannot safely exist in society. Releasing mutants that know the truth behind the institute’s experiments into the wild is simply of no benefit to the government. So the majority are terminated once their scientific potential is exhausted or if they become too expensive to contain. As a result, few mutants live to adulthood.
Though, there are exceptions to the rule. Occasionally, mutants deemed non-hazardous can be released back into society. This is applicable to mutants that have not experienced significant mistreatment from the facility, lack the ability to talk about their experiences and optimally have been brainwashed by an appropriate 001 subject.
Have other mutants before DT and KT ever escaped?
The funny thing is, escapes aren’t a particularly rare occurrence.
Tumblr media
Dmitry and Katya’s escape in KT’s Official Guide to Coolness.
Despite getting a lot of funding, the facility itself is very disorganised. Most of the money is blatantly pocketed by the higher-ups, so a lot of its structures and equipment are subpar – this includes its outdated safety systems. To top it all off, the security staff isn’t especially well-paid, so their diligence is highly questionable.
With all that piling up, there are around 3 cases of low-level escapes every year. Because of tight budgets and plenty of work to do as is, these escapes are generally brushed under the rug. The institute still keeps tabs on the escapees in case they happen to show up on the radar, but it rarely organises active searches or alerts the public for that matter.
DT and KT’s escape stood out because it was anything but low-level, and pretty bombastic at that. But even that didn’t warrant a public announcement for fear of panic and reputational damage. So if you’re an 003 mutant looking for an opportunity to sneak out… Hell, man, just go for it.
Wrap-up
That’s about all I can say about mutants’ life in the research centre, scratch some small factoids here and there. I tried to answer the most common questions regarding the topic, so I hope your curiosity was satisfied!

Last week on my character a day thread was more "Magical Girl SCP" characters and I'm realizing I didn't share the pictures from the last time I brought out the psudo scp universe characters so here they are. I'll make the whole story someday. Lore/flavor text is as follows: 1: Fairbanks would often have to insist Isabelle stop skipping her small arms training. She rarely said it, but she was very fond of the junior researcher. And she knew just how unsafe the SAFE Research Department could be.
2: Fairbanks' Notes on the Vampire, "Drymouth."
After 21 days without feeding, she will enter a state of altered consciousness and will speak true prophecies. The Board believes it is worth the ethical costs of starving her. I believe she uses her prophecies to guide us to our destruction.
3: Partial Transcript: Tattoo Parlor, 3:25 PM
Subject X66: "I'm still kinda nervous about the pain, ya know. I'm sure you get that a lot."
Witness: "I... what is... Is that a body mod?"
Subject X66: "What are you talking about?"
Witness: "Holy fuck it moved!"
4: Codename Sunshine is the first entity to take a role in DIR Fairbank's "Special Taskforce." Though the Director believes she is wholly reliable and a potential asset for our field agents, many are skeptical. Her ability to "transmute light into burning liquid" is quote: "Scary AF."
5: Agent Nathan Collier returned to work with REDACTED three months after the incident with Valeria's escape. His personal heroism in subduing the entity aside, it was decided he was unfit for field work. Instead he was reassigned to the SAFE Department on so called "babysitting duty."
6: Ben died a few years ago in an unrelated accident, but ever since then what appears to be his "ghost" continues to check the halls for anomalous readings. Once we calibrated his scanner to account for his own emanations, he returned to being a valued member of *redacted*
7: What limited things we do know is REDACTED's body is made of particles which "absorb" em waves of all kinds, from light to radio. Though REDACTED manages to bypass nearly every security measure we have, they have no connections or intentions that qualify as a threat.
8: Contrary to popular belief, Franklin is NOT an anomalous entity. He is merely a holdover from REDACTED before it became REDACTED. His "good humor and fatherly advice" has often made agents question his true nature. And security monitors him as agents often confide secrets with him.
(ooc note, it was about an hour after drawing this that I realized I basically just drew Clint McElroy)
9: Frm: Dir Fairbanks The girl in our care is not to be referred to as "anomaly" or "spider thing" or by her case number. She has come to us willingly. Her name is Penelope, and but for her anomalous mutations is a normal child. We will provide her normalcy. That is an order.

It seems I haven't quite had my fill of cuteness. So I humbly ask for part 4 of the plushie series with Luca, Ritsu, Zenji, Tohma, and Rui.
It's ok if you don't want to also
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The most requested thing!! hehehe |ू´꒳`) I'm really happy you guys like the plushie headcanons, and thanks to the anon who originally requested it a few months ago too!!
Part 1, part 2, part 3
Tumblr media
How Tokyo Debunker boys react after receiving a cute little plushie from MC – Luca, Ritsu, Zenji, Tohma, Rui, Ed and Lyca
Lucas Errant – husky plushie
Extremely happy that he is receiving such a thoughtful gift from you!
He never truly allowed himself to play with toys because of his studies, and then came the guilt of losing his brother… Letting himself relax like that barely ever crossed his mind.
So he doesn't really know what to do???
He just perches the cute plushie on his desk and politely greets it whenever he leaves his room and gets back.
He's a bit confused, but he's got the spirit!
Since the husky is always on his desk, it kinda becomes his study buddy really quick too.
Luca ends up reciting his notes to it and reading his books out loud, so it helps him get even better grades (if that's even possible).
He notices this and IMMEDIATELY goes to thank you.
He is 100% sure that you had this crazy elaborate plan to make him get better grades, which is why you made the plushie for him.
Now he’s asking you to maybe make one for Kaito so he stops going to so many remedial classes…
Because he’s denser than a (quickly researches what is the densest rock in the world) peridotite
And doesn’t realize that you gave him a handmade gift because you LIKE him........
He’ll have to ask someone for help after you get upset with him because of this.
Because the husky plushie definitely doesn’t know either and, for some reason, Kaito just refuses to help him!
Cut him some slack… he’s just dense. Like a peridotite.
Shinjo Ritsu – otter plushie
"For me?"
"Yes."
"I believe you are aware that a gift, in the law of property, is the voluntary and immediate transfer of property from one person to another and in order for the it to be legally effective it has to have donative intent, the delivery of the gift to the donee, and the acceptance of the gift."
“Okay...?”
“Therefore I accept the gift.”
“Cool…”
Congratulations, you have just given Ritsu his first official associate.
Or at least this is what he says to himself in his mind.
He was trained to become a lawyer since he was a little kid, so he never thought about playing with toys that much (and his father didn’t push him to do so as well).
But he gotta admit, having a handmade plushie, something his partner (as in business partner! Don’t get him wrong!) made for him exclusively does bring a feeling of joy he never quite felt before.
If anyone so much as THINK about touching his gift, he will be ready to recite the entire constitution, and every single law they broke, AND declare how many years they’ll get in prison just for touching his little otter friend.
He takes things such as private property very seriously after all.
He won’t take the plushie everywhere with him (what about safety?), but he does keep it right next to him in bed when he’s reviewing all the records he made throughout the day.
For a second, he wonders if he could sneak a camera into a plushie and give it to you, but oh no, that would be an invasion of privacy!
Or at least only until he finds a loophole in the law.
Kotodama Zenji – koi plushie
"My dear!!! Oh you truly are the most lovely flower to ever grace this earth! If my heart could still beat, it would be racing for you!!"
You managed to steal a little beaded bracelet artifact, something weak (or at least you hope so), and tied it on the plushie's tail.
And your theory was successful! Zenji could actually touch it, just like he could carry his doll due to its anomalous properties.
To say he’s absolutely SMITTEN with the plushie is an understatement.
He loves anything artistic and knowing that you spent your precious time creating that cute plushie for him makes him so so happy!
WILL carry it everywhere and write ballads about the koi. And poems. And he will read every single myth involving kois and post them on his youtube channel as well (please like and subscribe... PLEASE...)
Haku has the time of his life laughing at Zenji, because now he carries his doll, his biwa AND his plushie everywhere.
If you keep giving him gifts, he might actually need a whole cart to carry everything around him.
The little koi and the doll become his most loyal fans, and his company during nighttime, when everyone’s asleep.
If you see a koi plushie outside your window, don’t freak out. It’s just Zenji watching you sleep again.
He has the habit of calling the doll "his brother" and now he’s gonna call the koi plushie "his dearest".
The two people he cares about the most, right there in his arms: Jiro and you.
Ishibashi Tohma – orca plushie
"Oh? I wonder what made you think I am fit for receiving such an adorable little gift."
Tohma… does not know what to do with the gift you just gave him.
Don’t get him wrong, he appreciates it! Truly. He is mesmerized by the fact that you made a whole orca plushie with your own hands.
But he also doesn’t see how someone as intimidating as him deserves such an adorable gift.
Maybe all those months serving someone else with little appreciation made him forget how it feels to be pampered…
He places the plushie in the vault, right on his desk, and it becomes his companion when he needs to go through paperwork.
Tohma tried giving it a hug once and he got so damn sleepy RIGHT AWAY that now he just pats its head whenever he needs to take a break.
That little thing is dangerous, making him feel so comfortable… He can’t sleep, he’s a busy man! A little headpat to acknowledge the plushie will have to suffice.
However, he still hasn’t tried taking the plushie to his room yet.
He’s quite worried that his sleep will just be filled with dreams about you.
And oh dear... it'd be way too tough to wake up from something pleasant like that.
Mizuki Rui – black bunny plushie
You torture him, being so cute!
A plushie? For him? A black bunny you made with your own hands?!
He wishes he could squish you to death, but that could become quite literal if he actually touched you.
So instead, he squeezes the hell out of the bunny.
Absolutely loves the gift and takes it EVERYWHERE with him.
It basically becomes his bar’s little mascot.
He kisses the bunny’s cheeks every single time he lays his eyes on it. There’s a good morning kiss, a good afternoon kiss, a good evening kiss, plenty of see you later kisses… (he just wishes he was actually kissing you).
Rui will definitely get little accessories for the bunny and maybe even get matching ones for you.
He will also name it some variation of your name and refer to it during conversations as if he was talking about an actual living being.
Lyca and Ed are forced to acknowledge the bunny as their new dorm mate, but won’t let Rui get the bunny its own room because that would be too much!!
Oh, Rui will also buy a bottle of your perfume to spray on the plushie so when he hugs it, it smells like you
What? No, of course that’s not creepy at all, silly! He just loves everything about you, including your perfume!
Edward Hart – ram plushie
Oya, look at what his lovely human brought to him. And you made it yourself? Wonderful.
He has watched plenty of DIY tutorials on youtube, but was always too lazy to go through with them.
Now that he knows you’re skillful with your hands, though? Expect plenty of requests. Maybe do a little bat for him next, what do you think?
The little ram probably becomes the only clean thing in his room, despite Ed holding it all the time when he’s bedrotting.
(That’s because Rui cleans it frequently. He doesn’t want you to think your gift went underappreciated)
And when I say constantly, I mean CONSTANTLY.
Something cute and comfy to hold while he rewatches that 10 hour conspiracy iceberg video for the 5th time? That is exactly what he needs.
He will try to take pictures of the ram watching videos with him for you, but it will be terribly unfocused.
You appreciate the thought despite that!
You don’t appreciate the message he sent though...
"Hello My Dear 😘❗️I Just Had To Show You This 📷❗️Look At How My New Little Friend 🐏 Is Watching Youtube 💻 With Me 🦇❤️ He Just Absolutely Loves ❤️ To Watch ✨️ Conspiracy Videos✨️ With Me 🦇 I Tried Inviting Lyca🐺 Too But He Won’t Reply To My Messages ✉️🚫😢 I Wonder Why 🤔❓️ Please Come Visit Me Anytime 👋🏰🥀 We’d Love To Watch Things With You👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨😘💋"
Lyca Colt – wolf plushie
“What's this?”
“It's a gift for you. I made it.”
“What do I do with it?”
“Um... nothing. You can cuddle it when you sleep, I guess?”
“Hmpft! I'm not a child, I don't need to cuddle things!!”
Don't worry, he thanks you properly after Rui scolds him and tells him to express gratitude when he gets gifts.
He is a little bit rough with it at first, since he never had a toy before, but he quickly gets extremely possessive of it and starts treating the plushie with a lot more care.
He WILL growl and bite if someone tries to take it from him.
Lyca kind of acts like a big brother to his wolf plushie, taking him to his favorite spots and explaining the things he learned to it (he needs to practice after all!)
The plushie becomes a nice reminder of you. Whenever he thinks about doing something he shouldn’t, he looks at the wolf’s beady eyes and thinks of yours as well.
Who would’ve thought this would be such a sure-fire way to make him behave a bit more.
Rui, however, is absolutely exasperated because he just knows that plushie will be another thing that will desperately need washing SOON and Lyca just won’t let him clean it.
Lyca eventually wraps his plushie in his stinky baby blanket (much to Rui’s despair) and cuddles with it to sleep every night.
His dreams become all about you, so don’t worry in case he has a little bit of a hard time looking at you the next day (and a little blush on his cheeks). It’s a little hard to explain!
