Matthew may not be the richest guy on campus, but he's still a generous date. Janis isn't much interested in grilling, but Sharla'll probably like it.

Mary Ann can't sleep for thinking about Isaiah, so she pours her heart out in song. "If you love me, let me know! If you don't, then let me go!"

Annya Var Fruhm

-Helen seemed to need the pizza, she was not a bit hungry.

-Klara is not sure is she cursing or blessing her future father in law.

-Klara also woke up at the middle of the night, went to campus, had that desk in that tiny plastic bag.. then went back to bed, lol.

-All cleared the semester, a little better than boys, thanks to Helen.

-Ida Juana’s gratuation will also be at next rotation. She will be joining Gunnar at the apartment.

Taking a detour to college for neighborhood flow. Sadie, Maia, and Imogen are all getting along at Annya Var Fruhm. None of them are all that interested in parties right now, which is a change for the sorority.

The sorority needs recruits, and Helen needs a date, and where better to advance both agendas than the Soci Quad?

It’s becoming obvious to me that Andy keeps an eye on the sorority and casually finds reasons to go...where ever Ida Juana’s going...every time she leaves the house. 

But is it obvious to Ida Juana?

Janis's date with Ivan went fine, but there's lots of other guys on campus, including Matthew, who she met in the dorm. Taking a new guy out is a lot more exciting than dating somebody she already knows.

Speaking of whom. "Hi, Ivan!"

"You - you -" "What? What is your problem?"

Well, never mind him. There's a karaoke machine! "Everything louder than everything else! Everything louder than everything else!"

And there's a makeout bench out back, when people aren't sitting in it to play myshuno. They don't really make out, though. Just a few pecks.

And what's a date without dancing?

"This was fun. We should do it again sometimes." "Okay, sure. Call me." It won't be as much fun the second time, though. None of the thrill of discovery.

"Hi, Ike! Long time no see!"

"Time to plant some more?" "Yes. Potatoes this time. They're very forgiving."

"Ooh, that's a slick new blazer." "Not as new as all that. And I think the bomber jacket is more me."

"You know, when you asked me on an outing downtown, I was kind of expecting more people. Like, I dunno, brothers and sisters and Tina, maybe Delta. Or the tiny child you're waiting for." "An outing can be two people."

Romantically or not, Gabriella must really like her. And why not? They always have fun, when she's not in active mourning mode.

"RIver! How you doing?" "I'm getting married! Real soon now!" "So I heard. And touring - Three Lakes, was it?" "We are!"

"Okay, now that I'm amped up on caffeine, shall we go eat and look at artsy stuff?"

"I just really like you. Not in a weird way." "You read them!" "Couldn't stop, once I started."

"I don't know anything about art. I don't even know what I like." "You will if you let yourself. Stop thinking about whether it's good or not, and pay attention to whether it makes you feel anything."

"Okay, this makes me feel something. This is hilarious!"

"Hi, Rhein!…Yeah, I saw him at the frat the other day…I dunno, he and the Senior Man over there got into it over something…I believe you! Kurt can be weird."

Sharla knows she ought to be using Ada for labor during her pledge period; but mostly when she comes over she slap-dances. And Sharla doesn't see a problem with that.

"Okay, third time's the charm!" "It does smell like you got it this time."

"No burned chicken for me! It's time for my first free Greek pizza!"

Maybe it's stupid; but Gabriella is just so sweet and sad! Much too sweet to do anything as lame as hang around waiting for a boyfriend so much younger than her. Les really wants to open a whole new world for her.

And she's game, you know? She could have said no when Les called.

"What does it take to get served around here?"

"Is your brother following us around?" "Not on purpose. He's not like that." "Not concerned about your virtue?" "My virtue is not threatened by you."

"I'm having a really nice time." But there's something about the way she says it. "You really are straight as a light pole, aren't you?" "I'm afraid I really am." "Hey, you gave me the old college try, and we can be friends. It's not a big deal."

Okay, so, it's not gonna happen. But it might have. You can't blame a girl for trying.

"Hi, Gabriella! I heard your voice and had to come sprinting down to see you in a toga!" "Oh! Don't, don't I get to see you in a toga, too?" Yes, she's hooked! Look at that face - she's glorious! "Hang on just a sec."

Les considers pressing matters, but the term paper's not done and she made herself a promise.

"Mary Ann says we're not supposed to put meat scraps on the compost because it'll draw rats, but won't it draw them to the inside trash, too? I'd rather have rats on the compost heap than in the house."

"Dang! I'll get you at the next turn, you watch." "You wish!"

Janis goes for conversing with Ivan's big brother Sean. Who is kind of hot, actually.

Sharla's party is going excellently, and Sean is assisting in her quest for new pledges.

"So, what do you think? You willing to pledge?" "Well. If y'all really want me -" "Of course we do!"

Isaiah retreats to the study room, and Mary Ann follows him discreetly. Nothing happens…unless you count connecting, soul to soul!

Afterward, Sharla is restless, and takes herself out to the Swim Center to swim it out. Where exactly will they be putting Ada, is the question? It's not fair the frat has so many more bedrooms!

Les has to get up and stretch. All she needs to do is the bibliography and format the footnotes - but that's always the hardest part.

"Oh, dear. This isn't how I'd hoped my first attempt to fry chicken would come out."

"Isaiah! Hi! Thanks for coming over in this weather!"

"You didn't say there was a party. I'd have worn a toga." "I forgot Sharla was throwing one."

Mary Ann's heart swells with moral certainty. Isaiah is the One! Now, to convince him of that.

Janis and Ivan having agreed that they are the obvious people to get over the virginity hump with, she decides to get on with it and check out campus date locations at the same time.

"Mom and Dad have been waving University at me as this huge privilege and obligation and opportunity, you know? And so far it's just - I mean, I like it, it's fun, but I'm not sure it can live up to the hype."

"So I heard a rumor about this place…We should go check it out. If we're going to do this."

Fanny's Private Tutoring. Weird name. Will they walk in and it's all study carrells? Suddenly Janis is nervous.

"So the astronaut taps on the window of the command module -" Ivan seems similarly content to hang around outside.

"Um -" "Cold feet?" "Not, not really?" "Me, too! And I have a final in a bit." "Yeah, we don't have any idea how long it'll take." "Exactly."

"No more dating till the term paper's finished!"

Sharla knows she needs to study. She goes to the Liberal Arts building specifically to study. And she will. In a little bit.

But then she runs into Ada and they start discussing The Great Simerican Grill Off.

"You know, I think you'd fit in great with the girls. I'm throwing a toga tonight. Tell me you'll come." "Well…I might."

"Good morning, birdie! So many exciting possibilities for today, I don't know what to do first!"

Mary Ann's on the back end of her junior year, and she is making plans.

"Fishing, fishing, are we wishing, for brain food, makes the brain good!" "I just thought I'd try it out, that's all."

"You must be awfully strong, carrying around that heavy costume all the time." "You have no idea!"

The great thing about gardening is, that it pays off many times. It occupies your hands so your brain can work things out in an atmosphere of calm; and then you get delicious food to eat.

"Hey, Gabby, feeling better?…Yeah, I just thought I'd warn you - Les is getting ideas…No, that's fine if you want that sort of thing, but - No, no, I don't think she's insincere, it's just that she moved here to be with a girlfriend and the girlfriend's moved out, and she's had one other girl back here and I just don't want anybody getting hurt."
