the fact that julian compares anneliese to a rose and anneliese compares julian to a geode is such beautiful parallels as to how they see the beauty in each other. julian's verse in 'to be a princess' about how anneliese 'is like a rose that's forever in bloom'. anneliese's line while holding the geode, explaining to julian that it's 'unassuming on the outside yet a treasure within'. it's all so exquisite and tender and lovely to see how these best friends care about each other. even though, duty and responsibility prevent them (initially) from acting on their romantic feelings. in this essay i will. . .

Upon further inspection, under the guidance of Anneliese's intellect, her investigation proves to be true. This realization not only saves the kingdom, but it also allows the princess to be free from having to endure an arranged marriage. As a result, Anneliese is free to merry whoever she loves, even a common tutor.

sksksk, here's my stuff for day 1 of Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper anniversary event by barbiesource with the theme Favorite Song. I knew I had to do something for today and well, since I enjoy editing in canva, I figured I can create this.

out of the songs of the movie, 'free' is my favorite for how it essentially establishes anneliese and erika's personalities, motivations, and dreams after the prologue. and the bits of contrast between the two of them. anneliese being resigned to her situation yet believing to make the best of it. erika being determined to believe in her dreams even if they're out of her reach. ✨✨✨
