Crónica II: El recuerdo jamás vivido.

Esa tarde no era distinta a otras. El panda jugaba cerca, siguiendo mariposas doradas entre las raíces. Ella, como tantas veces, había llevado consigo un libro.

Se sentó bajo un árbol que conocía bien. No por su nombre —pues en ese bosque los árboles no se nombraban— sino por su sonido. Uno profundo, rítmico, como si guardara secretos en sus anillos.

All��, entre páginas abiertas y brisa templada, contempló la grandeza del bosque. Su belleza gigantesca, que para otros podría parecer intimidante, a ella la hacía sentir en casa. Quiso sentir de nuevo esa caricia suave del sol que se escurre entre las hojas, como pequeños dedos luminosos que intentaban alcanzarla. Cerró los ojos, solo un momento.

Y soñó. Pero no era un sueño como otros. Era un recuerdo que nunca había vivido.

En el sueño, se veía a sí misma más joven. Tal vez con 7 años. Kumo también era pequeño, una ternura de pelaje aún más suave y ojos aún más brillantes. Estaban sentados juntos en un claro que no reconocía… aunque algo en su pecho se apretaba, como si alguna vez hubiera estado allí.

A su alrededor, la naturaleza y la tecnología coexistían sin esfuerzo. Torres solares cubiertas de musgo, columnas de luz líquida que giraban lentamente. Plantas que vibraban con el aire, como si respiraran al ritmo de una canción lejana. El cielo claro y azul contrastaba en perfecta armonía con el verde que ya conocía tan bien.

Y lo más extraño: seguía sentada en la misma posición y leía un libro distinto, uno que no recordaba haber visto jamás… pero cada palabra le resultaba familiar, como si se tratara de algo escrito por sus propios pensamientos del futuro.

Kumo la observaba, atento.

Entonces, la escena cambió.

Una biblioteca de cristal y madera se alzaba a lo lejos. Un domo inmenso dejaba pasar el cielo estrellado, donde las constelaciones se movían como si buscaran algo. Dentro de la estructura, otra versión de ella —ya mayor— caminaba en silencio. La misma figura, pero con el rostro bañado por una luz distinta. Más serena. Más… sola.

Quiso alcanzarla. Decirle algo. Pero el aire cambió, como si se retirara con un suspiro.

Y entonces despertó.

El sol ya no estaba en su punto más alto. Las sombras eran más largas. Las mariposas habían desaparecido.

Y con ellas… Kumo.

Miró por el camino. Recorrió los rincones donde él solía esconderse. Pero no había rastro de él. Tampoco señales de huida. Ni sonidos.

El silencio no era violento. Pero tampoco era el mismo de antes. Era un silencio nuevo. Un umbral.

Ella se quedó allí unos minutos. Y antes de que la angustia pudiera alcanzarla, junto a un extraño habitáculo tecnológico —que no recordaba haber visto antes— encontró la pelota favorita de Kumo. Quieta. Pero parecía palpitar con un último reflejo dorado.

No lloró. No habló.

Solo miró hacia el bosque, apretó su viejo libro contra el pecho… y comenzó a andar. Como si, en lo más profundo, algo hubiera hecho clic. Como si acabara de entender algo… aunque aún no supiera exactamente qué.

Aquella tarde marcó el fin de los días suaves. Y el inicio de la búsqueda.

No solo por Kumo. Sino por aquello que ese sueño —o recuerdo, o eco— había despertado.

¿Dónde termina un sueño? ¿Dónde comienza una memoria? A veces, solo hace falta perder lo que amamos para encontrar lo que aún no sabemos que somos.

Esta historia ya no es solo suya. Ni del panda. Tal vez… también sea tuya.
