Every Garak scene is such a serve. Andy Robinson was given like maybe 5% DS9s airtime and preceded to serve so much cunt that they had to both bring him back and have him as a main character in almost every major plot line. Truly an inspiration to menacing old fags everywhere

I don’t watch Lower Decks but I will probably watch this one episode.

Yeah yeah yeah it’s an alt universe. Whatever. As far as Andy, Sid, and I (and many of you) are concerned, it’s been canon since Andy’s first appearance.

They literally performed fan fic on Sid’s YouTube channel to canonise it as best they could. And roped their fellow ds9 actors into joining them.

This is a clip from a YouTube upload by Mary Knasinski of Sid and Nana in Missouri in 2000. They are asked about working with Andy and Nana recounts an outtake of being unable to stop laughing to get a scene done with Andy that then irritates him because (as Sid says) for Garak he was “in a wetsuit glued to his body” and he can’t stand the heat, thus he wants to get his scenes done as soon as possible so he can get out of costume. Sid then goes on to give THE best impersonation of an angry and irritated Andy that only a best friend can do so wonderfully.

When I checked in to see what was happening on Tumblr, I did not expect to see Lower Decks canon Garak/Bashir.

I watched Deep Space Nine in the Nineties. Back then, you had to read between the lines because there was almost no positive queer rep at all. So, yes, Garak and Bashir were flirting and Jadzia Dax was never noway cishet. Glad to see that sometimes we don't have to read between the lines anymore.

I will raise a glass to the happy, bickering couple and the actors who play them.
