It’s not red it’s just black scribbles but just in case), Andromeda is the world’s WORST mum, and by that I mean she tries to kill two of her kids, uhhhh I think that’s it you’ve been warned. I don’t think I’d as bad as the warnings may make it seem but I’m the one who made it so take that with a grain of salt I guess. Also major spoilers for the end of my oc story but there’s no where to read it so I guess you have to see how it ends

SPACEMAS DAY 16 ✨🪐🌎☄️☀️🌕

This featured wide-angle mosaic was taken over the steppe golden fields in Mértola, Portugal in 2020. From such a dark location, an immediately-evident breathtaking glow arched over the night sky: the central band of the Milky Way galaxy. But this sky had much more. Thin clouds crossed the sky like golden ribbons. The planet Mars appeared on the far left, while Saturn and Jupiter were also simultaneously visible. However on the opposite side of the sky, here seen on the far right. Near the top of the image the bright star Vega can be found, while the far-distant and faint Andromeda Galaxy can be seen toward the left, just below Milky Way's arch.

I believe youre refering to the painting on my header: Apollo or The Three Protector of The Muses by Charles-André van Loo (Carle Van Loo), 1745.

(I previously thought it had another name, but apparently I was wrong lol)

And he frowns a little bit, realizing that that little piece of summer magic is yet another thing humanity's own insanity has stolen from future generations. And then he tells her. He tells her about hot, humid Texas summers and these little black beetles that could glow. And sure, their asses only lit up to attract a mate, sure, they died fast, but during the months they were active? It was like walking through a field of stars.

She thanks him, and smiles a little to herself as she imagines it.

It's bittersweet to him when he knows she's burning just as bright, and will be gone just as soon.

these two spiral galaxies

a supermassive black hole mirrored in each other

entangling to fuse an elliptical shape

prophesized to collide in a vastness of space

drawn closer and nearer together

in this fabric of a universe we all pretend to understand

this union would likely leave the sun and earth intact

we imagine two powerful entities destroying

everything around them as they come together

but only our sky would change

our sky would be completely new

of course we can't know for sure

it's an outcome we can only know

with time and experience and the scientific theory

maybe a bit of quantum physics

it teaches me something less to fear

if galaxies can collide and change their skies

but keep their stars and planets

then what keeps us from anything new?

What are these two giant arches across the sky? Perhaps the more familiar one, on the left, is the central band of our Milky Way Galaxy. This disk of stars and nebulae appears to encircle much of the southern sky. Visible below the stellar arch is the rusty-orange planet Mars and the Andromeda galaxy. But this night had more to offer! For a few minutes during this cold night, a second giant arch appeared encircling part of the northern sky: an aurora. Auroras are much closer than stars as they are composed of glowing air high in Earth's atmosphere. Visible outside the auroral arch is the group of stars popularly known as the Big Dipper. The featured digital composite of 20 images was captured in mid-November 2022 over the Lofoten Islands in Norway.
