Writing Notes: Scars
Scars - marks created during the healing of damage to the skin or tissues.
After skin or tissue is wounded, the body releases collagen to mend the damage.
Collagen, a protein, reattaches the damaged skin.
As the wound heals, a temporary crust forms and covers it. The crust is a scab that protects the damaged area.
Scarring is the natural process of repairing an open wound, injury, surgical incision, or other conditions like acne.
Initially, a scar is red - blood vessels are created while the body forms scar tissue.
The damaged area is covered by a protective scab that eventually falls off.
The scar may become brown or pink.
It generally fades over time and becomes less visible.
The healing process takes from one year to 18 months. Some scars heal naturally. Other scars require additional treatment.
Hypertophic Scars and Keloids
Caused by an over-active healing process.
This produces an excessive amount of collagen at the wound site.
Both types of scars are red, thick, and raised above the wound.
Hypertophic scars do not extend beyond the wound site. The scar may itch and usually heals without professional treatment in about a year.
Keloids are large scars that could form after surgery, an injury, burn, or body piercing. This scarring often occurs on the ear lobe or chest.
Sometimes keloids develop spontaneously.
The keloid is raised, rigid, and grows beyond the wound. It can continue to grow.
Scars are generally harmless, but may itch or feel tender.
In addition, a person may feel self-conscious about the scar’s appearance.
Contracture Scars
Caused by the loss of a large section of skin due to burns or other injury.
The scar contracts or tightens around the wound.
This contraction could impact a person’s mobility.
If the scar deepens, it could affect muscles and nerves.
Acne Scars
May appear after the severe stage of acne, a skin condition usually caused by hormonal changes.
The inflammatory condition is seen in adolescence, but acne can occur later in life.
Severe acne is triggered by clogged pores that cause bacteria to multiply.
It occurs more frequently in adolescent boys than girls.
If the acne is not treated, there could be scarring.
The types of scars include pit-like pockmarks.
TREATMENT
A scar is permanent and cannot be completely removed.
However, treatment can alter a scar’s appearance.
Procedures range from the application of over-the-counter ointment to surgery.
Scar treatment should start after an injury because wound care affects scarring.
The wound should be cleaned and covered.
Picking at the scab breaks the collagen and allows germs to enter the wound.
Time also helps with healing.
Scars become smaller, and the color fades.
However, additional treatment is required for some scars.
While some procedures are more effective for keloids and hypertrophic scars, the procedure for acne scars is based on the type of scarring.
Treatment for burn scars may include skin grafts surgery.
Surgery - "scar revision"; the procedure modifies the scar’s appearance.
Steroid Injections - a singular form of treatment for scars, particularly keloid and hypertophic scars. Corticosteroids are an anti-inflammatory drug that helps to lessen the scar’s red color and thickness. The treatment flattens the scar and helps with itching.
Cyrosurgery - involves the freezing of freezes tissue with a probe containing nitrous oxide. It is used to modify scars, especially keloid and hypertrophic scars.
Dermabrasion - the removal of a layer of the skin’s surface. Scars including those caused by acne are smoothed or sanded by an instrument.
Silicone gel sheets - an be purchased over-the-counter. The sheets are worn over the scar area to seal moisture. The treatment helps with itching and to reduce scar thickness and color.
Alternate methods - of treating scars range from applying Vitamin E to massaging the skin. People should consult with a doctor or other healthcare professional before starting treatment involving contact with the scarred area. These procedures include applying obtained Vitamin E, aloe vera, or cocoa butter to the scar. Vitamin E is sold as an oil or obtained by opening a vitamin capsule. Aloe is an African plant and is sold in capsule form and as a skin care product. Cocoa butter is a fat made from cacao seeds. Those items are thought to help with healing so that a scar is less visible. However, time also helps to lessen the scar’s appearance. Those substances should be applied only after a scar is well-healed. Massaging mild scars is done to relax rigid scar tissue. The scar is massaged for about two minutes. Afterwards, Vitamin E oil is applied to the skin. The process should be discontinued if the area becomes sore or red.

͙⁺˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙ self-love & witchcraft •̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚⁺‧͙
Tumblr media
(se você fala portugues BR, sinta-se livre para enviar DM ou pedir tradução de um post. boa parte vai estar em inglês, para facilitar minha vida e atingir mais pesoas.)
-`🕯 INTRO 🕯´-
Everyone mentions it, everyone talks about it, and self-love has been the it topic for about a decade now. And in the witchy community, it's not so different. Those who engage with the spiritual community in general, also know this is a popular topic. In today's post, I'll be diving into why self-love is important in witchcraft and what witchy things you can do to boost self-love.
-`🕯 WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? 🕯´-
❅ Because it involves healing, and healing is a big part of witchcraft, since you'll learn how to be your best self, you'll learn how to assert boundaries, take care of your body, soul, and mind, and much more. ❅ Replenishing energy is one of the biggest positive effects of self-love (yes, I know that the path of self-love can be tiresome sometimes, but we ain't talking about that today!), and our energy is key in our craft. Thus, when you love yourself, you choose to eat well, rest, clean the space you're in, cater to your needs, etc. By doing this, you replenish your energy and when you're charged with energy, your craft gets better, since it requires quite a good amount of energy. ❅ Respecting your limits is also a big thing in self-love which should always be remembered in witchcraft. So, you don't have to do anything that you don't feel comfortable doing or that puts you in danger. Of course, the growth path isn't comfortable and some things in witchcraft are dangerous even for senior witches, but some things can be left undone for your own sake. For example, you don't need to do big rituals, have a detailed witchy routine, make witchcraft the main priority of your life, etc. Also, remember where you stand. If you are a beginner, it's not a good idea to go out hexing or trying to work with deities or more powerful beings, since I doubt you have your psychic abilities developed and a sturdy protection routine.
-`🕯 TIPS 🕯´-
❅ listen to your body, if you're always tired, eat food with more iron, go to bed earlier and don't stay on your phone one hour before, get that vitamin D, eat fruits and veggies, and avoid processed foods as much as possible. Back pain? Stretch, have better posture. Always getting sick? Read this tip all over again. ❅ be kind to yourself, don't call yourself stupid, don't yell at yourself. I know sometimes we can be really dumb, but if you're mistreating yourself all the time and saying unkind stuff, you're being your own bully and main energy drainer. ❅ have a day just for you, in which you take a good thick salt shower and later with some herbs, wear comfy clothes and eat the things you like with no guilt, ground yourself too. ❅ create protective charms/amulets for the week. Although "protection against negative energy" is common, creating one with a more specific job might come in handy. I, for example, like the ones that help with not taking things personally, as I tend to do that. So, observe your situation and day-to-day problems to create some specific amulets. ❅ Don't compare yourself to other witches. Actually, don't compare yourself to other people, at least not as much, as I know we often compare ourselves without second thoughts. However, you must know that just because you don't have witch ancestors or you can't see spirits, doesn't make you a mediocre witch. Also, if you don't have all the time in the world to be practicing and some days you can just do the basics, it's fine! ❅ Talk to your guides, vent to them, and ask for help! Your guides have a better vision of what's going on and they are the best when it comes to helping you out, especially regarding spiritual matters. They also will know when you need tough love or soft love.
-`🕯 CONCLUSION 🕯´-
So, this was it! A brief post for today and I hope I have helped y'all! I didn't dive deeper into some things because I would go on a tangent, but self-love is key!

Strawberries - Magical Properties
🍓  The spiritual meaning of strawberries symbolizes love, passion, and healing. This fruit has been revered for centuries in various cultures for its connection to emotional and physical well-being. 🍓  The strawberry’s heart shape, vibrant red color, and sweet taste make it a powerful symbol in the spiritual realm. 🍓  Love and passion: Strawberries are associated with love and passion due to their red color and heart shape, often linked with the goddess Aphrodite. 🍓  Healing and purification: The strawberry’s high vitamin C content has long been believed to possess healing powers for both body and soul. 🍓  Abundance and fertility: Their seeds, which are visible on the outside, represent life, growth, and abundance, symbolizing a fruitful existence. 🍓 Spiritual growth and transformation: Strawberries symbolize the journey towards inner growth and enlightenment, as they ripen from green to red, signifying personal transformation. Although strawberries have only relatively recently been cultivated in Europe and western cultures, beginning around 1300 C. E. in France, folk all around the world have used strawberries for a variety of purposes for centuries. In South America before the Europeans arrived, strawberries were traded. North American First Nation tribes used strawberries as medicine, particularly as a women’s medicine used to clear toxins and support fertility and child-rearing. In Asia, strawberry’s detoxifying properties were also recognized as many as 2600 years B. C., at which time the Yellow Emperor used the leaves of the strawberry plant in a weak tea to detoxify and reduce the effects of aging. The Romans used Strawberries to lift the spirits and relieve bad breath as well as to treat a variety of digestive complaints. Strawberry’s popular reputation, however, solidified around fertility early on, and there it has remained. Strawberry shows up in European mythos as a fertility-inducing and love-producing fruit beloved of goddesses such as Venus, Aphrodite, Freyja, and the Virgin Mary. It was said the fruit of strawberry, when shared with another, would produce love. In Bavarian folk tradition, strawberries are gathered and hung in baskets on the horns of cattle to pay the local nature spirits in trade for many healthy calves and cows who produce an abundance of milk. It was said that if a pregnant woman carried strawberry leaves in her pocket they would relieve the pains of pregnancy. From inducing love to producing offspring, strawberry has been recognized as a potent little herb. It’s no wonder, too, strawberry has enjoyed a solid standing amongst the fertility herbs of folklore and mythos. Strawberry is a member of the Rosaceae family, also known as the Rose family, known for their love-inducing properties. Through her seeds, strawberry amplifies this message of dedication. Strawberry seeds grow on the outside of the fruit and can germinate even when soil isn’t present. Strawberry knows deep down no matter what the present conditions appear to be, she has the power to succeed. Strawberry magic is the magic of success through inner vision that sustains until the outer world is ready to receive. Success, as strawberry teaches us, requires proper preparation of one’s self. Wild strawberries tend to concentrate their energy and healing properties more intensely and in small fruits than their cultivated cousins. Thus, if your project has grown up or come to you through a wild, uncontrolled, undirected manner or source, you may be able to expect a longer duration of more concentrated energy and small-sized but intense fruits. Conversely, if your project has been carefully cultivated, you may enjoy large, abundant fruits for a shorter period. In Astrology, strawberry is considered a feminine plant and is governed by Venus. Strawberry’s element is water. 🍓 Symbolism - Love, passion, purity, and fertility 🍓 Color - Red, symbolizing vitality, life force, and sensuality 🍓 Shape - Heart-shaped, representing the heart chakra and emotional connections 🍓 Associated Deities - Freya, Aphrodite, and Venus, goddesses of love, beauty, and fertility 🍓 Historical Use - Used in ancient Roman ceremonies as a symbol of love and fertility 🍓 Cultural Significance - In medieval Europe, strawberries were used as a symbol of perfection, purity, and righteousness
🍓 Spiritual Practices - Used in rituals to attract love, enhance passion, and strengthen relationships
🍓
Medicinal Properties
- Rich in vitamins and antioxidants, promoting physical and spiritual health
Tumblr media
History & Lore
"Doubtless God could have made a better berry, but doubtless God never did." (Dr. William Butler, 17th Century English Writer) Dr. Butler is referring to the strawberry. Strawberries are the best of the berries. The delicate heart-shaped berry has always connoted purity, passion and healing. It has been used in stories, literature and paintings through the ages.
In Othello, Shakespeare decorated Desdemonda's handkerchief with symbolic strawberries.
Madame Tallien, a prominent figure at the court of the Emperor Napoleon, was famous for bathing in the juice of fresh strawberries. She used 22 pounds per basin, needless to say, she did not bathe daily.
In parts of Bavaria, country folk still practice the annual rite each spring of tying small baskets of wild strawberries to the horns of their cattle as an offering to elves. They believe that the elves, who are passionately fond of strawberries, will help to produce healthy calves and abundance of milk in return.
The American Natives were already eating strawberries when the Colonists arrived. The crushed berries were mixed with cornmeal and baked into strawberry bread. After trying this bread, Colonists developed their own version of the recipe and Strawberry Shortcake was created.
In Greek and Roman times, the strawberry was a wild plant.
The English "strawberry" comes from the Anglo-Saxon "streoberie" not spelled in the modern fashion until 1538.
The first documented botanical illustration of a strawberry plant appeared as a figure in Herbaries in 1454.
In 1780, the first strawberry hybrid "Hudson" was developed in the United States.
Legend has it that if you break a double strawberry in half and share it with a member of the opposite sex, you will fall in love with each other.
The strawberry was a symbol for Venus, the Goddess of Love, because of its heart shapes and red color.
Queen Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII had a strawberry shaped birthmark on her neck, which some claimed proved she was a witch.
To symbolize perfection and righteousness, medieval stone masons carved strawberry designs on altars and around the tops of pillars in churches and cathedrals.
The wide distribution of wild strawberries is largely from seeds sown by birds. It seems that when birds eat the wild berries the seeds pass through them intact and in reasonably good condition. The germinating seeds respond to light rather than moisture and therefore need no covering of earth to start growing.
Strawberries in Bible
While there are many interpretations of what strawberries may represent in the Bible, one of the most common is that they symbolize righteousness and purity.
In Song of Solomon, for example, the narrator compares his love interest’s lips to “a cluster of ripe grapes” and her breasts to “two fawns, twins of a gazelle.” This analogy is often extended to include strawberries as well, with their reddish hue and seeds representing the blood of Christ and the fruit of salvation respectively.
Strawberry Facts
🍓 The average strawberry has approximately 200 seeds.
🍓 A strawberry flower averages five to seven petals.
🍓 Americans on average eat approximately three-and-a-half pounds of fresh strawberries each per year.
🍓 Strawberry word has its origin from Old English words “steowberie” or “streawbelige”.
🍓 Amazing good for pregnant women. Birth defects like spina bifida can be reduced if they eat strawberries on a regular basis.
🍓 The strawberry plant is a perennial.

Home Remedies for Skin Sunspots: Secret Natural Solutions Revealed
Sunspots are flat brown patches that appear on parts of skin exposed to the sun over time. They are sometimes referred to as age spots or solar lentigines.
These are frequent places that many people find unpleasant from a cosmetic standpoint, especially as they become older.
At least there are a lot of DIY treatments that can help sunspots look less noticeable and balance out skin tone.
Tumblr media
Home Remedies for Skin Sunspots
Understand Sunspots
Long exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation can cause sunspots, a frequent skin problem that is caused by an increase in melanin production in the skin.
The pigment called melanin, which gives our skin its color, can result in the formation of dark spots when it is produced in excess.
Sunspots usually develop on the face, hands, shoulders, and arms areas of the body that are exposed to the sun the most.
Natural Ingredients to Treat Sunspots
Sunspots can be effectively reduced without the use of harsh chemicals by using natural components.
The following are a few of the top natural remedies,
1. Lemon Juice
Lemon juice, which is high in vitamin C, gradually lightens sunspots by acting as a natural bleaching agent.
Lemon juice's citric acid helps exfoliate the skin by removing dead skin cells and encouraging the development of new, lighter skin.
2. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is well-known for its healing and calming qualities, which may help in improving skin health and lightening sunspots.
Compounds found in aloe vera can help in promoting skin renewal and reduce pigmentation.
3. Apple Cider Vinegar
Because of its acetic acid content, apple cider vinegar is a well-liked treatment for skin tone evenness and sunspot removal.
Also having astringent qualities, apple cider vinegar helps to tighten and cleanse the skin.
4. Green Tea Extract
Antioxidants found in green tea extract can diminish sunspots and decrease the synthesis of melanin.
Green tea's anti-inflammatory qualities may also help in soothing and shielding the skin from more harm.
Tumblr media
5. Turmeric
Curcumin, the main component of turmeric, has strong anti-inflammatory and skin-lightening effects.
Skin tone can be evened out and sunspots can be less noticeable with the use of turmeric.
6. Vitamin E
Strong antioxidant vitamin E can help heal damaged skin and lessen the visibility of sunspots.
It is a fantastic treatment for sun-damaged skin since it encourages skin regeneration and healing.

Unveiling the Health Benefits of Cashew Nuts: A Nutritional Treasure Trove
Cashew nuts, commonly referred to as "Kaju" in various regions worldwide, are renowned not only for their delightful taste but also for the plethora of health benefits they offer. With their nutrient-rich composition and potential positive impact on health, cashews have solidified their status as a versatile dietary staple. In this comprehensive analysis, with guidance from PTI Nuts And Spices, we'll explore the multifaceted advantages of incorporating Cashew Nuts into your diet.
Tumblr media
Nutritional Profile:
Cashew nuts boast an impressive array of nutrients, contributing significantly to overall well-being. Serving as an excellent source of healthy fats, including beneficial monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats crucial for heart health, cashews are also packed with protein, dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals, making them a wholesome choice for snacks or meal accompaniments.
Heart Health:
Among the multitude of benefits associated with cashew nuts, their positive impact on heart health is particularly noteworthy. The presence of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats in cashews has been linked to lower levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglycerides, along with an increase in HDL (good) cholesterol. This favorable lipid profile helps reduce the risk of heart disease and promotes overall cardiovascular well-being.
Weight Management:
Despite their calorie density, Cashew Nuts can be beneficial for weight management when consumed judiciously. Their unique blend of protein, healthy fats, and dietary fiber promotes feelings of fullness and satiety, effectively curbing cravings and preventing overeating. By incorporating cashews into your diet, you can effectively regulate appetite and progress towards weight loss or maintenance goals.
Tumblr media
Bone Health:
Cashews emerge as champions in promoting bone health, thanks to their abundance of essential minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus, and calcium. These minerals are instrumental in bone formation, density, and overall skeletal integrity. Regular consumption of cashew nuts may significantly contribute to improved bone density and reduced susceptibility to osteoporosis and fractures, especially as individuals age.
Antioxidant Benefits:
Cashew nuts exhibit remarkable antioxidant properties, characterized by vitamins E and K, as well as minerals like copper and zinc. Antioxidants play a crucial role in neutralizing harmful free radicals within the body, thereby reducing oxidative stress and cellular damage. By combating oxidative stress, cashews have the potential to mitigate the risk of chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease.
Hair and Skin Health:
The abundance of vitamins and minerals in cashew nuts, particularly copper and zinc, plays pivotal roles in maintaining healthy hair and skin. Copper aids in melanin production, responsible for hair and skin coloration, while zinc supports collagen synthesis, wound healing, and skin integrity. Incorporating cashews into your diet can contribute to stronger, shinier hair and clearer, more radiant skin.
Blood Sugar Control:
Emerging research suggests that integrating cashew nuts into a balanced diet may offer benefits for blood sugar control, particularly in individuals with or at risk of type 2 diabetes. The combination of protein, healthy fats, and dietary fiber in cashews helps regulate sugar absorption into the bloodstream, preventing spikes in blood glucose levels. This may reduce the risk of insulin resistance and promote improved glycemic control over time.
Digestive Health:
Cashews are valuable allies in promoting digestive wellness, thanks to their high fiber content. Dietary fiber adds bulk to stool, softens it, and facilitates regular bowel movements, preventing constipation and supporting overall digestive health. By incorporating cashews into your diet, you can ensure adequate fiber intake and cultivate a healthy gut microbiome.
Potential Drawbacks and Considerations:
Despite their numerous health benefits, it's essential to consume cashew nuts in moderation due to their calorie density. Excessive intake may lead to weight gain and other adverse effects. Additionally, individuals allergic to cashews or other tree nuts should exercise caution and avoid consumption to prevent allergic reactions.
Incorporating Cashew Nuts Into Your Diet:
The culinary versatility of cashew nuts offers a plethora of delicious options for integration into a nutritious diet. Whether enjoyed raw or roasted as a convenient snack, added to salads, stir-fries, or grain bowls for extra flavor and texture, or blended into creamy sauces and dressings, cashew nuts enhance the culinary experience. Cashew butter, a delightful alternative to peanut butter, provides versatility as a spread or dip.
Conclusion:
In summary, cashew nuts emerge as nutritional powerhouses, offering a wealth of health benefits beyond their delicious taste. From supporting heart health and aiding in weight management to fortifying bones and enhancing hair and skin health, cashews contribute to overall well-being. By incorporating cashew nuts into your diet in moderation, you can enjoy their exquisite flavor while reaping the diverse rewards they offer. Let PTI Nuts And Spices guide you on the journey to optimal health through the inclusion of Cashew Nuts in your diet.

Tips And Tricks On Getting Your Vitamins
Success in health is something elusive to many. They may start to eat a cleaner diet and even work out a few times per week, but they never feel they've achieved optimal health. What they are missing is vitamins and minerals, and the following tips and tricks should help you learn about this topic.
Many people end up with aching bodies without realizing why they ache. Try taking some new vitamins and minerals before going to the doctor at the first sign of pain. Both fish oil and vitamin E help lubricate your joints and muscles.
Do not use tea or coffee to wash down your vitamins and minerals. These beverages may inhibit the absorption of certain minerals. Tea has been proven to decrease the amount of iron the body absorbs. While coffee has not been shown to have the same effects, it would be best not to take any chances.
Many people who are in need of supplemental vitamins and minerals simply struggle physically with swallowing the pills as they can be large and, in all honesty, horrible tasting. Try drinking water that has vitamins and minerals includes with some sort of fruit taste added. This allows you to get some of the vitamins you require as well as adding to your daily water intake.
It's true that your body requires fruits and veggies for their nutrients; however, know that fresh products are much better than those that are canned. Though you want to eat a healthy diet, you should also consider taking a quality multivitamin and/or mineral supplements to enhance your diet.
Magnesium is necessary for over 300 chemical reactions in the body. Foods high in fiber contain magnesium, including legumes, vegetables, nuts and whole grains. This mineral is used to treat high cholesterol, ADHD, fatigue, migraines, PMS and multiple sclerosis. Magnesium can also be applied topically to speed up healing.
This information can help you find supplements that can better your overall health. Having said that, don't stop your learning with this article. There is more out there you can use to improve your health. You will succeed at bettering your health when you try.

How to Choose the Best Natural Skin Care Products
If you want to improve your skin's health and radiance, you should look into natural skin care products. These are safe, effective and kind to the animals.
Using a high-performance cleanser can help you remove dead skin cells and make your skin more beautiful. It contains organic ingredients and it can be used for both facial and body cleansing. This formula is suitable for all types of skin, even if you have dry, sensitive, or acne-prone skin.
If you have a dull complexion, a moisturizing spray with antioxidants can give you healthy, glowing skin. The odorless and non-greasy formula is perfect for everyday use and can be applied to your face, eyes and lips. You can also use it as a makeup setter or moisturizer.
Your skin is unique and a good natural skin care product should be designed to meet your needs. For example, if you have sensitive skin, you may need to conduct an at-home patch test before using the product. Another reason you should not apply products containing synthetic chemicals is that they can cause hormonal imbalances.
Natural skin care products include plant-based oils and extracts. They can be used on all skin types, and the ingredients are all vegan and cruelty-free.
Sunflower oil is a mild plant oil that contains essential fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants. It can be used to treat various skin disorders and has been used in skincare remedies since the Egyptians.
Coconut oil is another popular moisturizer that has several benefits for your skin. It can protect you from the environment, promote collagen synthesis, and help balance the natural oils of your skin. It also has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Rosehip oil is rich in antioxidants and vitamins A, C, E, and K. It has anti-inflammatory properties, as well as anti-carcinogenic and anti-aging benefits.
Sea buckthorn oil is another effective oil that can help fight wrinkles and reduce the negative effects of eczema and acne. It can also help heal wounds, reducing the risk of infection.
Aloe vera has been used by ancient Greeks and Egyptians for its soothing and healing properties. Depending on the formulation, it can be very potent. But, if you suffer from allergies, be sure to read the ingredient list.
Having a healthy diet and maintaining a natural skin care routine is the best way to maintain healthy, glowing skin. Choosing a cleanser, moisturizer, and exfoliator that works with your specific needs will help you feel more confident.
If you are just starting out with natural skin care, the first step is to choose a high-performance cleanser. You can add an exfoliating scrub or serum to your routine if you like. However, you should start with a cleanser and use moisturizer as your main skin care regimen. Once you are comfortable with this method, you can expand to a weekly facial. To find the right skin care for your needs, look for a formula that is affordable and contains pure, clean ingredients.

The Role of Nutrition in Skincare: Foods for Healthy Skin
The Role of Nutrition in Skincare: Foods for Healthy Skin at Bhanot Medspa
At Bhanot Medspa Skin Clinic in San Jose, California, we think that taking care of your body takes more than just using items topically to achieve healthy, glowing skin. Skin health is greatly impacted by nutrition, which affects everything from hydration to suppleness and the skin's capacity for self-healing. This blog examines the relationship between skincare and diet, emphasizing essential foods and nutrients that can give you a radiant complexion.
The Connection Between Nutrition and Skin Health
The largest organ in the body, the skin serves as a barrier to shield us from external stimuli. The skin needs a range of nutrients to keep its integrity and attractiveness. Skin structure and function are supported by a well-balanced diet that is high in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and healthy fats.
Antioxidants: These compounds protect the skin from oxidative stress caused by free radicals, which can lead to premature aging and skin damage. Foods rich in antioxidants can help combat these effects.
Healthy Fats: Essential fatty acids are crucial for maintaining the skin's lipid barrier, which helps retain moisture and keeps the skin supple.
Vitamins and Minerals: Specific vitamins such as A, C, D, and E, along with minerals like zinc and selenium, play significant roles in skin health by supporting cell turnover, collagen production, and overall skin repair.
Hydration: Proper hydration is vital for maintaining skin moisture levels. Foods with high water content contribute to overall hydration.
Key Nutrients for Healthy Skin
Vitamin A: Vital for the development and repair of cells, vitamin A keeps skin healthy by encouraging cell turnover and avoiding dryness. Vitamin A-rich foods include spinach, kale, sweet potatoes, and carrots.
Vitamin C: The production of collagen, which keeps the skin tight and young, depends on this potent antioxidant. Vitamin C is abundant in bell peppers, broccoli, strawberries, and citrus fruits (lemons, oranges).
Vitamin E: Well-known for its antioxidant qualities, vitamin E guards against environmental contaminants and UV radiation-induced oxidative damage. Vitamin E is abundant in green leafy vegetables, avocados, seeds (particularly sunflower seeds), and nuts (almonds in particular).
Omega-3 Fatty Acids: These vital fats lessen inflammation and support the integrity of the skin's lipid barrier. Omega-3s are abundant in walnuts, flaxseeds, chia seeds, and fatty fish (mackerel, salmon).
Zinc: This mineral is essential for wound healing and may lessen the inflammation associated with acne. Zinc-rich foods include lentils, chickpeas, pumpkin seeds, beef, and oysters.
Selenium: An essential antioxidant that shields the skin from UV rays and promotes general skin health is selenium. One of the best sources of selenium is Brazil nuts.
Probiotics: The gut-skin axis establishes a strong connection between gut and skin health. Yogurt, kimchi, sauerkraut, and kefir are examples of fermented foods that help support a healthy gut flora and improve skin health.
Foods for Healthy Skin
Fatty Fish: Omega-3 fatty acids, which are abundant in salmon, mackerel, and sardines, help to moisturize and lessen inflammation in the skin.
Avocados: Packed with vitamin E and good fats, avocados provide vital nutrients that fight oxidative stress and help increase the suppleness of the skin.
Nuts and Seeds: Sunflower seeds are high in protein and vitamin E, walnuts supply omega-3 fatty acids, and almonds offer vitamin E, making them great snacks for good skin.
Fruits: Papaya has enzymes that aid in exfoliation; citrus fruits offer vitamin C; berries (blueberries, strawberries) are rich in antioxidants.
Leafy Greens: Rich in antioxidants and vitamins A, C, and K, spinach and kale promote healthy skin.
Sweet potatoes: Sweet potatoes, which are rich in beta-carotene, a precursor to vitamin A, encourage cell turnover, which supports good skin.
Whole Grains: B vitamins, which are necessary for keeping skin healthy, are found in foods like quinoa, brown rice, and oats.
Legumes: Rich in fiber that promotes intestinal health, which is crucial for clear skin, beans and lentils are also great sources of protein.
Dark Chocolate:  When ingested in moderation, dark chocolate, which is high in flavonoids (antioxidants), can enhance skin circulation and offer hydration benefits.
Turmeric: Because of its curcumin concentration, turmeric has anti-inflammatory qualities and can be added to meals or smoothies to improve general health.
Best Practices for Incorporating Nutrition into Your Skincare Routine
Eat a Balanced Diet: To make sure you're getting a wide range of nutrients, try to include a variety of vibrant fruits and vegetables in your meals.
Remain Hydrated: To keep your skin hydrated from the inside out, sip on lots of water throughout the day.
Limit Processed meals: Cut back on processed meals and sugar-filled snacks, which can cause inflammation and detract from the appearance of your skin.
Think About Supplements Carefully: If you have dietary limitations (such as vegetarianism) or find it difficult to obtain adequate nutrients from food alone, you may want to talk to your dermatologist or healthcare provider about supplements.
Keep an eye on food sensitivities: Keep an eye on how specific meals impact your skin; dairy and gluten items may cause breakouts or irritation for certain people.
Consult Experts: In addition to your skincare regimen at Bhanot Medspa, think about speaking with a qualified dietitian or nutritionist for individualized nutritional guidance catered to your unique skincare requirements or issues (such as acne or eczema).
Conclusion
At Bhanot Medspa in San Jose, nutrition is essential to preserving healthy skin from the inside out. Tumblr media
Rice water, the nutrient-rich liquid left over from soaking or boiling rice, has been used for centuries in various cultures as a beauty treatment. Known for its ability to enhance skin health, rice water for skin is packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that can provide numerous benefits. Here’s why you should consider adding this simple, natural ingredient to your skincare routine.
1. A Natural Skin Toner
Rice water acts as an excellent natural toner, which helps to cleanse the skin and tighten pores. Its mild acidity helps balance the skin’s pH, promoting a clearer, more even complexion. Using rice water as a toner after cleansing can refresh the skin and prepare it for subsequent moisturizing or treatment steps.
2. Hydrates and Moisturizes the Skin
The starch in rice water is known to have moisturizing properties, making it a great ingredient for dry and dehydrated skin. When applied regularly, rice water can restore moisture to the skin, leaving it soft, smooth, and well-hydrated. This makes it particularly useful for those with dry skin, especially in colder weather or in areas with low humidity.
3. Brightens the Skin
Rice water contains a high level of inositol, a compound known to promote healthy skin and improve its appearance. Regular use of rice water can help brighten the skin, reduce dullness, and provide a radiant, glowing complexion. The antioxidants in rice water also help combat free radicals, preventing premature signs of aging such as wrinkles and fine lines.
4. Soothes Irritated Skin
Rice water has anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe skin irritation and redness. If you have sensitive or acne-prone skin, applying rice water can calm irritation and promote healing. It can also help reduce the appearance of blemishes and scars over time, making it a helpful remedy for conditions like acne or sunburn.
5. Improves Skin Tone and Texture
One of the most popular benefits of rice water is its ability to improve skin texture. It contains vitamins such as B, C, and E, which help stimulate collagen production, leading to firmer, more youthful-looking skin. By reducing the appearance of pores and smoothing the skin's surface, rice water can help achieve a more even skin tone and texture.
6. Fights Signs of Aging
The antioxidants in rice water, particularly ferulic acid and gamma oryzanol, have strong anti-aging properties. These antioxidants help to prevent the breakdown of collagen, keeping the skin firm and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Regular use of rice water can also help protect the skin from environmental stressors, such as pollution and UV rays, which contribute to skin aging.
7. Promotes Skin Healing
Rice water is known for its skin-healing properties, making it an effective treatment for minor cuts, wounds, and irritation. The amino acids and vitamins in rice water help accelerate the skin's natural healing process. Applying rice water to freshly healed skin can also help fade scars and pigmentation marks, contributing to a more even skin tone.
8. How to Use Rice Water for Skin
There are several easy ways to incorporate rice water into your skincare routine:
As a toner: After cleansing your face, apply rice water using a cotton pad, gently wiping it across your face.
Face mask: Mix rice water with other natural ingredients like honey or turmeric to create a soothing face mask. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing.
As a face wash: For an easy daily treatment, use rice water as a gentle cleanser. Splash it on your face, massage, and rinse off.
9. Conclusion
Rice water by Awear Beauty  is an affordable, natural skincare solution with a long history of use in various cultures for its numerous benefits. It hydrates, brightens, soothes, and fights the signs of aging, making it an ideal addition to any skincare routine. With its ability to improve skin tone, texture, and overall health, rice water is a timeless beauty ingredient worth considering for your skin.

The Complete Guide to Moisturising Lotions: A Key to Healthy, Hydrated Skin
Moisturising lotions are the cornerstone of any effective skincare routine. Regardless of your skin type or concerns, hydration is essential to maintaining a healthy, radiant complexion. With countless options on the market, finding the right moisturiser can feel overwhelming.
In this blog, we’ll explore the importance of moisturising, what makes a good lotion, and review two standout products—Neutriderm Moisturising Lotion and Dermavive Moisturising Lotion—that deliver exceptional results for all skin types.
Why Moisturising Is Essential for Skin Health
Your skin is your body’s largest organ, and keeping it hydrated is crucial for several reasons:
Maintains Skin Barrier: Moisturised skin has a stronger protective barrier, shielding against environmental stressors like pollution and UV rays.
Prevents Dryness: Hydration prevents flaking, irritation, and itchiness caused by dry skin.
Reduces Signs of Aging: Fine lines and wrinkles are more noticeable on dehydrated skin.
Balances Oil Production: Proper hydration can help control excess sebum, reducing acne breakouts.
Skipping moisturiser can lead to long-term damage, making it essential for everyone, from those with oily skin to people dealing with eczema.
Key Ingredients to Look for in a Moisturising Lotion
Not all moisturisers are created equal. The most effective lotions contain ingredients that nourish, repair, and hydrate:
Hyaluronic Acid: Attracts and retains moisture, leaving skin plump and supple.
Vitamin E: An antioxidant that protects against free radicals and promotes healing.
Oat Extract: Soothes irritation and strengthens the skin’s barrier.
Glycerin: A humectant that draws water into the skin, providing deep hydration.
Aloe Vera: Calms redness and delivers a boost of hydration.
Top Moisturising Lotions to Add to Your Skincare Routine
Tumblr media
1. Neutriderm Moisturising Lotion
Neutriderm Moisturising Lotion is a dermatologist-recommended product, designed to deliver hydration and nourishment without feeling greasy. Its lightweight formula is perfect for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

How to Use: Apply a small amount to clean, dry skin and massage gently until fully absorbed. Use daily, morning and night, for best results.
2. Dermavive Moisturising Lotion
Dermavive Moisturising Lotion is another excellent option for maintaining healthy, hydrated skin. This lotion is enriched with natural colloidal oatmeal, a powerful ingredient known for its soothing and protective properties.
Key Ingredients:
Colloidal Oatmeal: Relieves itching and irritation while creating a protective barrier.
Aloe Vera: Calms and hydrates the skin.
Glycerin: Locks in moisture for lasting softness.
Benefits:
Soothes dry, itchy skin.
Strengthens the skin barrier.
Suitable for conditions like eczema and dermatitis.
How to Use: After cleansing, apply a generous amount to the skin and gently massage. Focus on dry or irritated areas for added relief.
How to Choose the Right Moisturising Lotion for Your Skin Type
Dry Skin: Look for rich, emollient-based lotions with ingredients like shea butter or colloidal oatmeal.
Oily Skin: Opt for lightweight, non-comedogenic formulas like Neutriderm Moisturising Lotion.
Sensitive Skin: Go for products with soothing ingredients such as aloe vera or oat extract, like Dermavive Moisturising Lotion.
Combination Skin: Balance hydration with lightweight lotions that won’t clog pores.
How to Incorporate Moisturising Lotion into Your Skincare Routine
Cleanse First: Start with a gentle cleanser to remove dirt and oil.
Apply While Skin Is Damp: This helps lock in moisture and ensures better absorption.
Use Twice Daily: Morning and night application keeps your skin consistently hydrated.
Don’t Forget the Body: Extend the benefits of moisturising to areas prone to dryness, like elbows, knees, and hands.
Benefits of Regular Moisturising
Improves Skin Texture: Hydrated skin feels softer and smoother.
Boosts Skin Elasticity: Moisturised skin is more resilient and less prone to damage.
Enhances Makeup Application: A well-moisturised base prevents foundation from caking or settling into fine lines.
Prevents Irritation: Soothing ingredients in moisturisers help calm redness and sensitivity.
Common Myths About Moisturising
1. “Oily skin doesn’t need moisturiser.” Even oily skin requires hydration to balance oil production. Skipping moisturiser can lead to increased sebum production, causing breakouts.
2. “Moisturising once a day is enough.” For optimal results, apply moisturiser twice daily—morning and night.
3. “Thicker lotions are better.” The effectiveness of a lotion depends on its ingredients, not its texture. Lightweight formulas can be just as hydrating as heavier ones.
FAQs About Moisturising Lotions
Q: Can I use the same moisturiser for my face and body? A: Face and body moisturisers are formulated differently. It’s best to use a lotion specifically designed for your face to avoid clogging pores.
Q: How do I know if my moisturiser is working? A: Your skin should feel hydrated and soft, without tightness or flaking.
Q: Are natural ingredients better for moisturising? A: Natural ingredients like colloidal oatmeal and aloe vera are gentle and effective, but synthetic ingredients can also provide excellent hydration.
Why Neutriderm and Dermavive Are Must-Haves
Both Neutriderm and Dermavive offer unique benefits, catering to various skin types and concerns.
Neutriderm Moisturising Lotion: Ideal for those seeking a lightweight, non-greasy formula that hydrates and soothes.

I asked ChatGPT "what are some PROVEN ways to boost lymphocyte production?" & then added links to my fav products which are lab-tested and labrat-tested (I was the labrat 🐁)
Stay masked & healthy everyone :)
🙏🏻 (additions written like this are mine 🙏🏻)
To specifically increase lymphocytes (key immune cells like T-cells, B-cells, and natural killer cells), certain nutrients, supplements, and lifestyle interventions can be particularly effective. Here’s a list based on research:
---
Vitamins 🍋
1. Vitamin C
Stimulates the production of lymphocytes and protects them from oxidative damage.
Dosage: 500–1,000 mg/day.
🙏🏻 Ideally in the form of acerola cherry powder (good brand is "Time Health" 🙏🏻)
2. Vitamin D
Essential for the activation and function of T-cells.
Deficiency can impair lymphocyte response.
🙏🏻 Ideally taken together with magnesium
Dosage: 1,000–4,000 IU/day (good brand is this "Zenement")
3. Vitamin A
Promotes differentiation of T and B lymphocytes.
🙏🏻 Don't supplement this :) Vitamin A is found in: meat, eggs, milk.
4. Vitamin B6
Required for lymphocyte proliferation and antibody production.
Dosage: 2–10 mg/day (higher if there's a deficiency).
🙏🏻 Most supplement brands are fine for the B-vitamins
5. Folate (Vitamin B9)
Supports DNA synthesis, crucial for lymphocyte proliferation.
Dosage: 400–800 mcg/day.
🙏🏻 Most supplement brands are fine for the B-vitamins
6. Vitamin E
Enhances lymphocyte proliferation and function.
Dosage: 200–400 IU/day (a good brand is "Zenement", the same as for vitamin d)
---
Minerals 💎
1. Zinc
Critical for lymphocyte development, especially T-cells in the thymus.
Dosage: 15–30 mg/day.
🙏🏻 Swanson is a decent brand for this
2. Selenium
Enhances lymphocyte proliferation and cytokine production.
Dosage: 50–200 mcg/day.
Good forms are SelenoExcell or selenomethionine. Swanson is a decent brand for this too
3. Iron
🌼 (Iron supplements should never be taken. To increase iron levels and absorption, take lactose-free colostrum powder/capsules.)
---
Herbs and Adaptogens
1. Astragalus
Boosts lymphocyte activation and increases their numbers.
Dosage: 250–500 mg, 2–3 times daily.
2. Echinacea
Stimulates lymphocyte production and activity.
Dosage: 300–500 mg, 2–3 times daily.
---
Lifestyle Strategies
1. Adequate Sleep
Poor sleep reduces lymphocyte numbers; aim for 7–9 hours/night.
2. Stress Management
Chronic stress suppresses lymphocyte production.
🌼 don't bother with yoga or whatever lol. Prayer is more than enough :) 🙏🏻
3. Regular Exercise
Moderate-intensity exercise boosts lymphocyte production. Avoid excessive exercise, which can suppress immune function.
🌼 there are some ✨epic✨ workout videos on YouTube. But no overdoing them, please. If exercise makes you feel drained, it's better to step back instead of pushing yourself
4. Balanced Diet
🌼 Organic meat 🍗 (beef, lamb, chicken, seafood), organic eggs 🥚, lactose-free milk, butter & ghee 🧈, cheese 🧀, unlimited fruit and orange juice 🍊🍊🍊, white rice 🍚, potatoes 🥔, sourdough bread 🍞, daily carrot 🥕, raw cucumbers 🥒 and tomatoes 🍅, rocket salad 🥗 which is nice with olive oil and apple cider vinegar and parmesan cheese 🤩, several teaspoons of coconut oil a day 🥥 (for example in warm drinks), broths and soups, tea and other hot beverages 🍵. Chamomile is the 👑 queen of herbs and teas.
No seed oils like sunflower, canola/rapeseed or sesame oil. 🙅🏼‍♀️
---
Honorary emphasis on lactose-free colostrum:
Yes it costs an arm and a leg, but it's been proven 3x more effective than the flu shot. Not only does it contain immunoglobulins which have saved my life here and there, but it also has healing effects on the gut-lining which again supports immune function. Cannot recommend it enough.
---
Another honorary mention (from a Healtline article):
Vitamin B6: Even though vitamin B6 deficiencies are rare, they can happen in those with autoimmune disorders like MS. For that reason, taking vitamin B6 could help MS symptoms.
Vitamin B12: A vitamin B12 deficiency is one of the most commonly seen deficiencies among those with MS. So, vitamin B12 supplementation theoretically might help symptoms.
Vitamin E: Since those with MS may already have low levels of vitamin ETrusted Source, taking it in supplement form could potentially help symptoms.
---
Lastly:
Magnesium literally saved my life and I think it will save yours. A good form is magnesium glycinate, I recommend taking 100-300 mg a day.
Another great option is putting magnesium oil on the skin (especially legs), daily. 😊
---
Caution
Over-supplementation can lead to imbalances and toxicity.
Consult a healthcare provider to tailor recommendations based on individual needs and health conditions.
🙏🏻 When starting a supplement, always go slow, like 1 capsule or ½ capsule at a time and see how your body reacts.
---
"Where to begin?"
you might ask
🙏🏻 I recommend starting with colostrum and gradually increase it to maximum dosage.
Then I would incorporate Vitamin D (together with magnesium) and vitamin E (both from the Zenement brand).
After that I would incorporate zinc and selenium (both from the Swanson brand).
Then I would try acerola cherry powder in water, mixing it with salt (and maybe even cream of tartar from Waitrose) to get extra miracle minerals. 🍹
The herb is would try is Echinacea, especially now in the winter.
Daily raw carrot is good for literally everything. :)
---
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
God bless everyone and everyone's lymphocytes 😇
