The ending of Volume 9 proves that RWBY is not about hope or acceptance, it is about meritless wish fulfillment.

Often have the topics of "consequences", of RWBY having "protagonist centered morality" and many other discussions surrounding team RWBY, and the plots inability to ever show them as being wrong. They might fail, but they are never wrong, and anyone who disagrees with them is instantly the enemy.

A lot of Fantasy stories at the end of the day are about hope. They are about the hero defeating a great evil and saving the day. This can take many forms, but unless a story truly aims for a tragedy or a more grimdark setting, hope always remains almost a constant companion to such stories.

The heroes fail, sometimes due to the enemy, sometimes due to their own failures, othertimes due to things that are outside their control. They can lose hope, and in fact, many stories traditionally have characters lose hope in their darkest hour. Only for it to be a set-up to some kind of an uplifting scene, or even an arc during which hope is restored.

Many fans of RWBY love to claim that RWBY is about hope, and admonish us critics for being "mean" or wanting a grimdark story. What these fans fail to realize however is something very simple...

What they are seeing is wish fulfillment.

In the last episode of V9, after Ruby reaches her lowest point. What is she told? That she is perfect the way she is. That everyone fails at some point. Ordinarily that would not be a bad lesson. But the thing with failure is that while it is inevitable, if the failure is caused by ones own actions that means that a mmistake was made, that a person is NOT perfect.

When in Volume 4, Ruby got Qrow stabbed by Tyrion by interfering in a fight that Qrow HIMSELF told her not to get into. Was she perfect? No. She made a mistake. But it was a mistake that came out of her selfish desire to play hero.

When in Volume 6 Ruby decided to steal an airship instead of doing literally anything else. Was that her being perfect? No. She made a mistake. A mistake that once again came out of a selfish desire, this time because she was told "No".

When in Volume 7 Ruby is trusted completely and utterly and given anything she wished for, a license, training from pros, upgrades to weaponry, unconditional trust of plans of national security. Only to then go out of her way to hide information and eventually betray the person who gave it all to her? She made a mistake, all because she decided that she will save everyone, even if it might kill everyone.

The first part of the wish fulfillment is that these things are not even acknowledged as mistakes. They are seen as "good" things, as "heroic" things, even by a lot of the fanbase.

The second part of the wish fulfillment is the lack of consequences. At the end of V4, Qrow is perfectly okay. In Volume 7 her decision to steal an airship is just ignored. In Volume 8 Ironwood is turned into a full on cackling saturday morning cartoon villain, so there is absolutely no need to even think about Rubys actions in V7 or her betrayal.

The ending of V9 takes the cake though.

The end of V9 has us see Vacuo with ships of various makings in the air above it. Many RWBY fans cheered! Look, Ruby was right! Ruby sent the message to everyone and the entire Remnant is now united! Suck it critics who said that her plan was bad! SHE WON!

Of course, these people fail to miss that they are cheering wish fulfillment.

Back in V8 the plan to warn the kingdoms was first hatched by Ironwood, and eventually stopped by none other than the "neighborhood hero" Robyn. Did the fanbase praise Ironwoods idea? No. They instead praised Robyn for stopping it.

Important part of it however was that once the message went out, it would create panic, thus Ironwood was planning to assist all of the states one by one to repel any Grimm incursions caused by such a message...

Yet Ruby went with this plan anyways... And nothing bad happened.

The narrative LITERALLY bent itself backwards to give Ruby a victory.

The SAME exact thing happened back in V8. Rubys plan of evacuating Mantle had no end point! It was simply evacuate Mantle to Atlas and then... There was no other plan. And while Atlas was suffering and its soldiers dying, Ruby drank tea in a mansion. The whole point of Atlas leaving without Mantle was to avoid getting swarmed by Grimm, to leave BEFORE it is too late to leave.

Now tell me dear readers, let us say that Mantle is evacuated into Atlas. What then? The Grimm have ALREADY reached Atlas. Its too late. Congratulations, the plan results in EVERYONE dying.

But wait, it does not. Because at the last second a GOD ITEM is revealed to be able to just portal everyone out.

That is not hope!

Hope is not the protagonist putting hundreds of thousands of people in danger with no plan to get them out of danger, only for the hand of the writers to come down and make them all survive.

Hope is not the protagonist taking reckless actions against their allies because they know that everyone will forgive them or that the allies will turn evil the next episode.

Hope is NOT the protagonists doing something that THE NARRATIVE says is impposible to do without consequences, only for those consequences to be deleted by the hand of the writer.

What HOPE at the end of the day is the protagonist keeping the fight on regardless of the odds, either to their heroic and expected death, or at a small but KNOWN chance of victory.

THAT is what separates hope from wish fulfillment.

Team RWBY being able to do anything and everything because the writers will give them a victory regardless of anything is not hope. And it will never be.

And it isnt Over

In case anyone has forgotten, Salem now controls the relic of creation. A thing that could be used to create anything for the sake of destroying ANY army that Salems enemies could wield. Let me ask you all. Is it not logical that Salem could just create a meteor shower and just destroy any and all airships over Vacuo? She has a literal god item that the protagonist gave to her by opposing Ironwood.

But i can tell you for a fact that she will never use it. The failure of losing the staff will never matter. Team RWBY will win regardless of how sensible or logical it is. The writers will make up a reason for why the staff doesnt work, or for why Salem does not want to use it.

And when that happens, be ready for RWBY fans to tell us all how stupid we are.

How would you rewrite neo and/or roman?

Roman

.Because I want to save Romans death for later, and the need to not have to make as many character introductions, and how kinda similar they are, him and Watts have been composited into one character, Watts even being Romans old name (so he can still be the W of team WTCH and doesn't make me wrong for mentioning Watts earlier) and he basically has Watts's backstory until after he fakes his death, where it becomes Romans backstory with the spiders in his new life (he is 100% more Roman then Watts overall)

.Consequently, he gains a second allusion in Dr. Victor Frankenstein

.Clearly recognizes Penny as he had a big hand in making her (there's a reason she's a green eyed ginger!)

.He upgraded the trains and paladin himself

.Ruby saves him from the griffon, much to his amusement

.Both him and Neo become the prospective characters in volume 4 for learning about Salem's cult

.Seems to actively want Penny to break out of his hack, it being one of few things that would make him proud of "that sad little tool"

Hi Clyde, I adore your metas. I can't help but feel that the way team RWBY has been handling Jaune's situation is eerily similar to how thet behaved with Ironwood back in V7: withholding trust and compassion to an ally who needs both, being dismissive of them and their plans while benefitting from them (getting shelter, weapons, licenses, a possible way out of the Ever After), and then making decisions that shatter the foundations of their trust and potentially trigger their trauma (hide crucial information, leak secrets to an opponent, celebrate the mass 'sacrifice' of the people Jaune sought to protect and questioning important knowledge he's been holding onto for years).

There's also this repeated mistake of listening to someone random for two seconds (Robyn, the cute paper person) and then quickly deciding that they know better than the ally who's been working on this for decades.

I really hope the writers take at least one simple scene to make the protagonists acknowledge that they've been in this situation before and maybe learn from their mistakes in Atlas so they don't repeat them in the Ever After with Jaune, but they've already given that 'that's how Ironwood thought' line like sharing his POV is such an outlandish thing, when to me that was the perfect opportunity to reflect on how perfectly decent people can reach that conclusion too when faced with difficult circumstances. But idk, what do you think, Clyde?

Oh man, I feel like you've just articulated one of the reasons I have little faith in this Jaune vs. Ruby argument going somewhere, despite the argument itself giving me a lot of what I've been waiting for. This does feel like we've seen it before, which likewise generates the feeling that it will end the same way as Volume 8 . To summarize + add to what you've listed above:

The group enters Atlas, a foreign culture to all but Weiss / The group enters the Ever After, a foreign culture to all but Jaune

They spend time wandering aimlessly until a battle results in their arrest / They spend time wandering aimlessly until a battle results in their rescue

They're immediately given food, shelter, and weapon upgrades / They're immediately given food, shelter, and Crescent Rose back

The group learns that Ironwood has been shouldering everything alone, resulting in mental health struggles / The group learns that Jaune has been shouldering everything alone, resulting in mental health struggles

They express discomfort, annoyance, and a low-key fear rather than sympathy / 🔁

Ironwood admits that not everything is solved yet, but he has a plan to re-establish communications / Jaune admits that not everything is solved yet, but he has a plan to try and find a way out

The group is frustrated that their problems aren't solved now that they've arrived / 🔁

Obviously there are going to be some similarities due to Volume 9 continuing the themes and questions of Volume 8, but yeah, it really feels like the group is walking the same path and making the same mistakes: find someone knowledgeable, powerful, and compassionate, doubt them because they haven't fixed every problem, further doubt them because their struggles have led to deteriorating mental health (the fact that we're supposed to be feeling for Ruby in the same episode that Jaune is labeled crazy...), dismiss the personhood of non-human entities (WHAT HAPPENED TO "SQUISHY GUTS" BEING UNNECESSARY? My Nuts and Dolts heart aches for old Ruby), then shrug off leaving a place destroyed because hey, you've gotta do what you've gotta do. Rinse and repeat, I guess.

All that's left is for Jaune to unexpectedly go off the deep end in a completely OOC manner, resulting in him trying desperately to do some good in his final moments while Team RWBY escape the Ever After, presumably leaving him to die :/

(Obviously idk what they're going to do with Jaune - it's a tricky situation, to say the least - but if they don't go the easy route of, "Then the tree magicked him young again and we'll never mention that he's mentally in his 50s!" I honestly wonder if they'd kill him off. I have problems with how Jaune is written, specifically in how he's prioritized by the plot over the girls, but I do not want him to meet an Ironwood-esque end.)

So, the end of RWBY x JL shows a scene where Team RWBY and Team JNR wake in a simulation room somewhere in Atlas, presumably all before the shit hits the fan and becomes V8.

It made me wonder, "again? They based it somewhere in V7 again?"

This is the second instance that the show had a spinoff or a thin extension of a new story come from V7. You'd think they'd choose somewhere that isn't in Atlas, y'know, because they're supposed to hate everything about Atlas, Ironwood, and the military and their highly advanced tech. The first time the writing went back to V7 was in Arrowfell, when Ironwood did nothing but act as quest giver.

Now granted, they may villainize Ironwood in the second part because Ruby deduced that someone from their world created the simulation. Or they may blame Watts, which would make more sense for him, but y'know, they may as well break canon for the movies.

Though I just wanted to point out that it is set in V7 again, and I kept wondering why they're choosing to put the kids back in the place that everybody is supposed to hate?

But then I came to think, "was V7 better than I thought?"

V7 is a vibe, in the beginning half. A very good vibe that brought everybody back together. It was the peak of peace of mind for all the characters to train and upgrade into new outfits and get some new upgrades for their weapons. Meet new friends and have Penny and Ironwood back, both of who were a delight to see. Not to mention, they're now surrounded by a great deal of cool Atlesian tech that gives them that futuristic vibe and much more exploration for the teams to do.

I think I can understand why it's neat to have that vibe. It's probably the only volume that had a sense of hopepunk in the cartoon itself. You'd have to ignore Yang and Blake's ignorant decision to trust Robyn to get a good feeling out of this volume. Weiss playing detective to expose her dad, while not the best sideplot, still was something good for her to do and finally put Jacques away. You'd have to also ignore Ruby lying to Ironwood just to have this good vibe.

Oh, and also, couldn't help but notice how hard RT keeps marketing RWBY in their Atlas outfits, as though they were trying to push the V1-V3 outfits away. Eventually, that didn't work. (Maybe that's the reason why they antagonized their Past Selves in V9 during the smoking trip, ooooooh.)

Anyways, that's all I noticed.

I refuse to think I'm wrong because they CAN go further back and avoid Atlas altogether, but they don't.

Robyn ( Sakura) Morales

SOOOOOO new design, meaning new personality hehe. But don’t worry nothing important is gonna change about Robyn’s personality, im just gonna make her a little emo

Here are the list of different/new things that are going to happen with Robyn

General information:

Firstly, no i am NEVER getting rid of the OG design for her because its way too iconic and i wish i were joking when i said that I did not made this cuz its just quite impossible that i have such talent 

Robyn is starting to change color. So the color palette for OG suit is red and only red, however for this one i am shifting to blue and indigo palette. The reason why I made an alternative persona is because I want to reflect Robyn’s change of character when it comes to allow herself to feel emotions and not let her ego in the way of it. 

After she broke up with Hobie and left spider society. She evolved and blue become her main color as it is just her mood now. She basically became numb to any emotion. 

Therefore she changes from red to blue/indigo depending on her emotions. (THIS IS AFTER SHE MAKES UP WITH HOBIE AND BECOMES STABLE)

Intense negative emotion: red fluorencent 

Negative mood: red

Neutral/Normal: Red

Neutral/in a good mood: Blue

Positive mood: blue

Intense positive emotions: indigo fluerencent

Hair:

Colors also change depending on mood

For the new design there is a distinction, in the OG suit her hair is plaint dark red, however in the new suit her hair is light indigo with red roots. Which shows that she is still herself inside but she needed to have a new breath of fresh air.

The reason why her hair is messy and badly cut is because I added a new power in which if she wants to activate her power in terms of like upgraded physicality and abilities. she can still swing, stick to walls and play w her pixie dust, but she wants to fuel more damage and strenght she’ll have to cut some hair. She doesnt need to cut a big section but still cutting one strand won’t be enough. Her hair is generally very long but she may use part of her hair and cut it for a long time and then go to another part. Some are very large and some are not because she’s very clumsy and impatient 

Suit:

Dark blue sections of her suit have melted more into her skin organs. Like a tattoo, they don’t look rough on her anymore, they kind of healed but they are blending in a skin in a way, so her marks aren’t as painful as before. She still wraps herself in bandages cuz she hates the way it looks still. 

The outline of the dark marks are just there cuz its cool -

Face mask:

Okay I know nothing in science cuz im stupid but her body has a sort of chemical reaction with her pixie dust. The outline shows up, pixie dust trails from her eyes. 

By the way she lost 4 of her eyes because now that she doesn’t feel as weak as before and has regained strenght, yes real spiders only need 2 eyes but they have many for the since of survival so…

The mask is also blending with her skin and looks like its about to eat u dry yes.

Y’all what deck did you use for Year 2, during the squabble with Cassandra and the Frey twins over paintings? That part when Lottie was talking about her father. I’m just stuck. I’ve tried so many cards and deck and echoes and nothing’s friggin working. I think I already lost more than 10 times 😵. I’m not even kidding. There was one time I almost beat Cassandra but yeah I still lost. When I tried using the same deck, it wasn’t working anymore. I don’t have any of the overly powerful cards yet (like Avada, Crucio, Sectumsempra, Orb of Water, Antipodean Opaleye, etc). The echoes I have are Snape, Dobby, Harry, Hermione, and Newt. Companions I have are Daniel, Malfoy Gang, Frey Twins, Kevin, Robyn, Lottie, Hermione, and Grawp. I just realized my most powerful cards require so much MP, even with the Niffler, it ain’t enough. I just kept getting attacked while my MP loads.

Sorry. I just really need help 😢 These are all the cards I have right now. I’m trying to do explorations so I can upgrade my cards, do daily tasks for keys, and all other things but this is all I have for now.

Alright. So what would you do if CRWBY (RT) contacted you and asked you to help incorporate Whiterose into canon? Would you do it? If so, how, and if not, I’d still want to know how.

I'm sure most of us would like to. I don't know if I'd be the best person for the job, or what not, but I think at this point you'd have to play for the long game and aim for like last volume.

I think the general groundwork for a relationship, especially with V6 is there but needs built on. Ruby and Weiss have pink petals only when together and the color pink used as petals is used by Ren's new semblance when he detects love.

There's tons of symbolism and pictures/promo material of WR being very important with each other. I don't see Weiss with a shield in the promo material nor do I see her thirsting over Jaune in the spin off stuff or Ruby looking at Oscar or any symbols that represent him. Manga anthologies, the movie crossover, IQD are all supremely WR coded.

They need to talk and be partners again. They need to have conversations and set things right between them. Weiss needs to come clean about why she was taking Ruby for granted, and Ruby needs to apologize for not talking to her about things, and they need to have a real partnership going forward.

V10 (they said 12/13 was their planned end point at one time so we'll go based on that) would be about this in the background with the war against Salem likely taking center stage as well as the fallout of Atlas.

I'd like to see more Ruby still falling into bad habits (unlearning them IS hard) but her team, and Weiss in particular helping her plan and taking the work off her shoulders and helping to divide it up. Even if they don't want WR endgame this is something that needs to happen because they're supposed to be best friends.

Blake and Yang as much as people might hate it need to take a slight step back. I'm happy for them but they're too wrapped up in each other to the point that they're the others world to the detriment of everyone else.

More interactions with other partners. Yang and Weiss and Blake and Ruby need to interact a bit more.

Blake and Yang can talk to the others and in time start drop hints about things but mostly as teases for now.

Once Salem finds out Cinder lied to her...a lot I would expect her to have a less than pleasant time and probably not be doing much outside of not dying. We might get the start of a 'we found the summer maiden' plot here.

V11 I would focus on the relic of destruction. I'd probably have this be the volume Tyrian dies likely as the villain of the volume in a battle for the relic. Seeing as they wanted 9/10 to start turning around you need to give the team some wins. So either they win and get the relic or they kill tyrian but still lose the relic. Depending on how they run with Theodore he could live or die securing the relic.

Based on how little of a chance Team RWBY seem to have against someone like Cinder they need to upgrade their semblances or one of them is probably gonna have to end up a maiden at some point. If they go that route then Raven actually dying to give her powers to Yang is possible but we need more from and about Raven before I'll buy that she'd do something like that. Unless of course she somehow gets ambushed and is dying then she might think of Yang. If this does happen i imagine we'll get more of that flashback from earlier.

Good chance for Ruby and Blake to comfort her if that does happen because well if Yang does end up with them then I mean it's clear what happened and her mom is dead. I imagine Qrow wouldn't take it well either but he has Robyn so she'll prob be helping him a bit.

WR would start incorporating little touches like they used to. Shoulder grabs, little quick hand squeezes and hugs that go on just a second too long and more playful banter in and out of battle.

They should still be serious when it calls for it but not have an issue just hanging out in the limited downtime they do have. Others should notice they seem to be happier now and have WR not understand what they mean.

V12 would likely be the start of Ozpin/Ozma opening up with some more deep lore and hopefully someone calls him on the whole 'jinn only said you can't kill her' angle. Probably not.

From here it really depends on how they plan to resolve Salem. Is it gonna be a hail mary we're united and have the relics fix it gods thing or not.

If it's not then I'd like to see them ape the gods and use that to 'kill' salem for good. Ie Ruby's eyes represent the light and Weiss and her grimm summons the dark. Working together and in concert to kill her just like the gods combo powers cursed her. If you want it to be a more team thing then Yang and Blake can represent light and dark too. Jaune can amp up their auras to an extreme level for this to work. Whether this kills him or his ultimate fate is irrelevant.

Ruby would be a bit more mature after Ever After and talking with her friends and Weiss would start taking notice because as Kara said 'Weiss like maturity'

If you wanted a twist for after this then have the gods show up and be pissed that rwby undid their work. 'who are you to undo what we gods have done etc?

From here they can drop the knowledge bombs that they're no better than runaway kids who left and what not.

The gods can then either bring back salem again proving that they're massive hypocrites since they told salem earlier she didn't understand the value of life and death and cause the gods to want to wipe out humanity and faunus.

At this point I'd expect the blacksmith/tree to basically be like 'no you're done' and drag them back.

If they don't bring salem back they could be like 'well humanity has come together so you know what good enough stay that way or else.

Then you'd have a few after it's all over episodes.

Now that the war is over they're focused on rebuilding. Weiss is busy helping Whitley and Willow and Winter (if she's alive) rebuild the SDC.

Ruby appears and asks her to take a break for dinner. Weiss is going to refuse until Willow tells her they'll manage and shoos her out the door.

Weiss asks where they're going to meet Blake/Yang, and Ruby says 'oh i was kinda thinking...it could just be us two.' Weiss could say something with a small blush and be like 'I'd like that' and it could cut to the other couples then credits.

Admittedly part of me would find it hilarious if Weiss gets fed up with waiting and just grabs Ruby and smooches her mid final battle.

Or the safer route just have a scene set after the war 5/10 years and casually let it be dropped they married in that time to avoid having to do anything.

Personally if I was doing RWBY from the start I'd make the WF bigger antagonist along with Jacques and probably cut out the whole brother gods/salem deal. Maybe even magic and maidens. I think that could be a lot of fun and as attractive as mommy salami is I don't care much for her in the story. Great VA though who really nails the voice I'd imagine for Salem.

I'd probably also keep them in school for another year and have more inter-team friendships. Like Blake , Velvet, Ruby, and Ren having a book club, or Ren and Weiss bonding over having super high energy partners.

Yang and Pyrrha work out buddies. Ruby and Jaune playing games with Nora probably joining it.

That sort of thing.

Of course if I was writing RWBY I'd find a way to have Maria hold WR hands so you know.

“Must be a good book, you’ve had your nose in it forever,” Robyn commented, pausing slightly in front of him to try and peek. He did his best to cover it without looking suspicious but distracted her anyway. 

“It’s one of Eris’s,” he lied. “She recommended it to me.” He cleared his throat, glancing towards the bathroom door. “Might want to give it a minute, Dad’s been in there a while. I can tell him to light a candle,” he joked. 

Robyn snorted, well enough distracted and she ran a hand over the side of his face lovingly. “Ah, thanks for looking out, kiddo. I’ll use the downstairs bathroom.” 

He gave a sigh of relief as she headed downstairs, glad he didn’t have to explain the tome to her and then looked back down at the page. He’d found out something interested just as his parents were getting up for the morning. Garlic usually was a deterrent for vampires, but there was a way to be unaffected. Charlie was going to have to take the book up on that offer, they had garlic growing in their garden and his Mom loved to cook with it.

I mean, if ironwood had worked with them and actually tried to evacuate mantle, they could very well have lifted amity enough to send a call for help, then lift atjas out of reach until backup arrived,

Or if ironwood had helped them with the portal plan thus giving them thus freeing winter and the ace ops to help with cinder

Without ironwood being a prick they did have options, they still would’ve been costly but they potentially could have at least not left atlas in such ruin

Of course, if ironwood had told Robyn about amity sooner and/or slowed down the amity project long enough to get mantles defenses up to snuff then the first Grimm wave wouldn’t have happened at all.

And if he’d upgraded mantles security watts wouldn’t have gotten in and hacked the election, shut off the heat, and shut down their long range sensors meaning they’d have advanced warning of salems approach.

And if atlas wasn’t such a dystopian shithole to begin with Salem would’ve never had such an easy time playing the kingdom like a cheap kazoo

All in all ironwood still deserves a LOT of blame

Going through rwby again makes me sad cus Ruby really was doing incredibly well until now. Four kids with one year's academy experiance travelled across Mistral and stayed alive. They survived the Nucklevee, they survived Tyrian, they survived Raven, Cinder and the White fang at Haven, they survived the apathy and the mech in Argus and the nutcase controlling it and a leviathan, and Ruby played pretty big roles in all of it. She was doing really well as a leader, but the situation is Atlas was sooo big and happened so freaking fast. It took 2-3 days for Salem to rock up and destroy the whole place. There was no way they were going to be able to stop her, even without ironwood.

What happened was pretty much inevitable as soon as Salem got there. Poor girl is putting so much pressure on herself just because she could run but not walk over a loose tightrope over a pit of lava during an earthquake. I hope Vacuo has good therapists.

I finally finished absolutely everything that was possible to do in FF7R this week, including DLC and all trophies. The combat system is just so fun, and definitely kept me playing until I’d perfected everything :’3

Since I enjoyed it so much, I have decided to forgive it all its flaws EXCEPT bringing back the nonsense Deepground lore. Sigh. I was hoping it would be left in the dust. This is peak Nomura edgy inner teen character design. Like, it’s not enough that the main protagonist has scientific experimentation trauma and the stuff we saw Shinra do in the main game is ethically horrific, noooo. They have a secret bunker full of even edgier scientifically traumatised sexy people in bondage gear who are extra badass and also evil. Ughhhhhhhh.

Fighting Weiss was an exercise in personal restraint for me. I morally objected to him showing his face in the game. But I still kicked his ass, while having flashbacks against my will to some of the dumber stuff in Dirge of Cerberus, like this scientist outfit and this Kingdom Hearts-looking mofo and that whole Gackt self-insert thing - so much to choose from!

ANYWAY. I’ve had several compelling urges to replay OG FF7 but I’ve been fighting them away since I really want to play something new. So, as I’m still waiting around for the Fallout 4 PS5 upgrade so I can replay that, I decided to start up Outer Worlds, which I’ve had lying around for a while. 

It seems fun! Has Fallout-y vibes except colourful, which I appreciate. I’m particularly enjoying the lack of a progressive overarching morality system that dictates whether your character is Fundamentally Good or Fundamentally Evil, which always make it a struggle to be anything besides outright evil or outright good (for me anyway - I hate Being a Bad Person in Videogames as it is xD). Instead you feel more empowered to make in-situ decisions and there are some forgiving design decisions that remove the stress from roleplaying - like your companions really not giving a shit about you stealing everything that isn’t nailed down.

I tend to get too engaged in reading about quests and quest outcomes in this type of game so that I can avoid bad decisions, and I’m gonna make a conscious effort to avoid that and just play how I feel. We’ll see how long that lasts xD

Korrasami and Bumbleby both have the blackhaired woman leaving the dude for an upgrade.

We watch a show to enjoy it, not to pick it to pieces and claim how you are “superior writers” when all you do is promote men over women, mansplain team RWBY, and try to shove “moral grayness” or straight ships down people’s throats.

“Fixing RWBY” is NOT saying “I think RWBY should improve” its basically “I want RWBY to be in the anime stereotype image that I want”.

I pity you.....Criticism used to be about love.

RWBY Critics have not shown any love....between insulting the writers, claiming the show or the company is dying, insulting the animation, saying “rwby bad or rwby sucks” or making video after video of “stupid female main character this or that” ?

That is not criticism. That is not wanting a show to improve. That is not criticizing from a place of love.

That is appropriating a cause/concept for the sake of lashing out/spiting others.

Which interestingly is adam taurus’ theme....appropriate a cause to cause harm, and make yourself seem like the victim whenever people defend themselves or lash out against you.

I joined the fandom in Volume 5...and guess what?  I loved seeing women able to defend themselves against creeps in a gas station. I loved seeing girls be able to win fights against men.  I loved seeing Female protagonists while the men were deuteragonists. A female main antagonist who was not sexualized into wearing revealing clothing, none of the female cast were. The male deuteragonist ability was a support-type instead of a main ability. There were so many things I loved about volume 5. But all I see is post after post and video after video complaining about RWBY, and saying how you people are making a “love letter to Monty” with your criticism.

Guess what Monty said about you people?

Monty asked his friends to help him write the show that was built on a napkin.

Monty Oum himself told critics like you to stop watching the show if you were going to complain like that.

But its not like you’ll listen to a word Monty said while he was alive.

This isn’t even funny....This is downright rude and insulting.

And this is what is commonly allowed in R/RWBYCritics....The amount of Anti-Robyn Hill posts is ...scary to say the least.

Now this is going to be my last post for now calling out the sheer lunacy of this toxic negativity being spread against RWBY, CRWBY and the fandom.

I’m going to focus on delivering something positive for this fandom.

Because if you’re gonna call yourself a RWBY Fan? That means enjoying the show, not enjoying picking the show apart for something to whine about.
