Their first impression of your muse:

It KILLS me to say this because she's the most authentic of the system, but I don't think Lisa will get along with Edgar super well. It seems like he has so many trust issues that she wouldn't be able to get close to him--especially now being a hunter. I do however think he'd have a better chance of getting along with Lisa than Emma because she comes on waaay too strong. I mean she could be more patient with the bluntness and the walls he got up, but I get the feeling he's not gonna like her back. Annecy might get along REALLY well with him actually. I think they've got a lot in common and they'd vibe together well. Seems like both your muses are doing well in his corner.

Current impression:   

They have never met before! So that is their current impressions of him.

Are they attracted to your muse?:  

I think aesthetically the three of them find Edgar attractive, but I don't think they'd be into him in any sort of way because he matches 0 of their types romantically.

Something they find frightening about your muse:

I feel like Lisa would be intimidated by his anger. He seems cranky a lot and she'd probably want to avoid being around him when he's upset (or even coming off upset in her opinion). Emma? Mm... I don't know. I thought about this a long time and I couldn't think of anything. Maybe we'll find something, who knows. Annecy also gets the vibe Edgar has done something bad. He's not afraid of it per say, but wary would be a better word. Also the texture of paint when it dries is the worst thing and he won't ever touch Edgar if he has paint on him.

Something they find adorable about your muse:  

They all think his art is really pretty. They just can't stop themselves from looking whenever they see it :) ( I had to )

Would my muse sacrifice themselves for yours?:  

Lisa? No. Emma? Maybe. Annecy? Probably no.

Would my muse go on a date with yours?  platonic/romantic:  

Lisa is always open to a platonic date, but whether it would GO well or not is another story entirely. Same with Emma. I feel like he'd walk out on a date with her. Annecy would go on a platonic date with him. Now that I think about it though Edgar may not like how left-brained he is. It seems like Edgar is much more right-brained, but then again maybe that's how they'd mesh.

One word my muse would use to describe yours:  

Lisa: "Distant" Emma: "Cranky" Annecy: "Artist" (I know, it's deep right)

Would my muse slap yours if they could?: 

None of them would slap him.... well maybe Emma would, it's gonna heavily depend on how he treats Lisa when she fronts. Not out of hate though, just to teach him a lesson.

Lisa? No. Emma? Maybe. Annecy? And get paint on him?? No.

Favorite villain and what you wish we could have seen more of - DT ask

(I am super aware this has been nearly a year and I am so sorry for putting you on hold for so long you don't have to see this but if you do I hope you will like it thank you and sorry ahhhh)

(1) First: Favourite villain...Jim Starling Hum...this is immediately a hard one...

Okay yes...If Mister Starling counts as a "villain", he is my favourite (at least, the first favourite that comes to mind when I see this question). For purely subjective reasons. not my fault that he is my type of duck man a huh huh huh

("The Duck Knight Returns!" literally gave me 2 of my favourite characters in DT17 in 1 episode who then never appear again. Sadge)

But if Jim doesn't count and I turn off my extremely biased mind, I would say Lunaris.

Solely because of his moonvasion plan. As complex as DT17 writing could possibly be (it is still a children's comedy show, after all), the plan is actually quite clever. He really uses Della as much as he can:

(a) Steal the rocket blueprint because I can't for my life build one myself

(b) Get as much information about the Duck Family and their allies, who will be one of (if not) the biggest adversaries I will encounter on Earth

(c) Lastly, fake a betrayal as the casus belli

Perfect.

Honestly, Lunaris only lost because of a lack of resources/knowledge that he can't possibly obtain/predict:

There is literally only 2 military personnel on Moon, while the rest are all civilians (who make up a barely functional army)

One of said military personnel immediately deflected, and that personnel ultimately helps dismantle the plan

He doesn't have all the information about all people on Earth (e.g. Flintheart, Fethry, Gladstone), because he is not based on Earth in the first place (unlike, for example, Bradford)

Our protagonists literally have the power of god and anime on their side (if Zeus wasn't being cringy and childish, the moonvasion would have ended as soon as it had started)

Now that I have finished the entire series, I actually like the resolution to Moonvasion more than that to The Last Adventure. Bradford has everything that Lunaris lacks: He has a functional task force (okay still one person deflected but she is taken care of soon enough). He has all the information about everything he needs. He somehow can disable and overpower the protagonists' power of god and anime.

Bradford is literally winning until he is somehow not anymore.

FOWL is literally OP until it is somehow not anymore.

The Last Adventure is definitely epic, even more so than the Moonvasion arc. It has a wonderful buildup with interconnected stories (one thing I absolutely love about Season 3 is how the Kit Cloudkicker episode - which seemingly is just a cameo episode - is still tied to the main conflict of Season 3). Everything looks amazing. But as an action anime fan the solution to the conflict is one thing I feel somewhat confused about.

For one, I have to agree with Mister Buzzard: "Family is the greatest adventure of all" is not a reasonable rebuttal.

(For any JoJo fans reading this, I think this is the DT17 equivalent of "So it's the same type of Stand as Star Platinum.")

(And speaking of JoJo, Lunaris literally got Kars-ed at the end lmao)

(2) More I wish we could have seen more of...JIM STARLING I wonder...

Okay, I am honestly curious about what they had in store for Negaduck. I think I have seen the behind-the-scene episode idea somewhere (i.e. The ultimately scrapped idea). At the very least, "Let's Get Dangerous!" could have featured my man, but for what it ended up to be now, I am not complaining either.

Other than that, I want to see more interactions between the Duck Cousins, actually (i.e. Donald, Della, Gladstone, Fethry). With DT17 introducing Fethry (for which I will be forever grateful), the quartet (?) being together is something I would like to see more of. Especially with how extensive HDL and Webby has been interacting since literally the first episode of the show, I feel like it would be awesome seeing a grown-up version of this group in the Duck Cousins.

(Perhaps an episode of the 2 groups hanging out together? Moonvasion is the closest there is to something like this)

There are some interactions between the 4 of them, noticeably the Moonvasion mentioned above, and The Last Adventure. But ultimately there could have been more potential, which might have been limited by Gladstone's and Fethry's little screentime (as much as they are part of the Duck Family, both of them are ultimately guest characters).

That being said, this is purely my subjective feeling. If truly implemented into the show, the Duck Cousins thing would be a bonus instead of a missing piece or missed opportunity (e.g. No Della - Gyro interaction whatsoever, despite the rocket-building manual and Oxychew. And I say this not as a shipper). So, just my personal opinion.

Does your OC judge themselves by the same standards as they apply to others? Or are they sometimes hypocritical in condemning others for faults they also possess? Or perhaps they find it easier to forgive others for things that they cannot abide in themselves?

Asel is the one who struggles with this the most. She's, as noted in various places, not very good with communication. This stems from the fact that she's not all that good at reading people and subsequently understanding them. All she knows on the matter is self-taught and is something she will continue to work on for the rest of her life.

As such, she both forgives people for things she wouldn't forgive herself for doing and at times gets frustrated when someone displays a fault they both share. This is a small part of why her friendship with Thancred gets complicated after Heavensward.

Asel tends to fret over her friend's safety like a mother hen while being just as reckless herself. She scolds others for overworking themselves despite the fact that she spends a lot of time both crafting and studying.

On the other side, she tends to be more patient with failure in others than she is with herself. Her response to others not knowing something is to gently explain to the best of her abilities. If she doesn't know something, she will research and think over it until she finds something.

Asel is trying to change quite a bit of this. At least the parts that she can spot. By the twelve is she trying but it's slow and hard going.

top 5 friendships/friend groups in bls? 👀✨

i love this question!!!!! friendships are one of my favourite parts of bl and i need more of it in 2024

kimi ni wa todokanai/i cannot reach you - i adore the entirety of this friendship group and it’s such a testament to the show bc they hardly get fleshed out, but from that first shot of them all watching yamato get confessed to i knew i’d adore them. it’s the way they don’t really understand yamato and still hang out with him anyway, the way fujino is the pet straight that just won’t shut up about his girlfriend but tries to be so good to kakeru even when it messes everything up, whatever hosaka and amamiya have going on, and more than anything hosaka going after yamato and his persistence to be his friend and talk about things with him and give him advice and the way that he identifies the queerness in him. they’re just all so good at being in a group together, it’s so boyish and youthful, it makes you yearn for school days like that.

my school president - of course this has to be on here, they set the bar so high for friendship groups in bl, and it says a lot that in a bl with so many couples, they constantly go out of their way to stress the how special and important their friendships are, like yes platonic love is just as worthy of love songs as romantic love, and beyond the core group, people like tiwson and kajorn are still so important to the story. i’ll say it again, it’s so boyish and youthful and it also gives you that feeling of validation to see people that are kind of outsiders and not that popular band together and form such a strong, loyal bond, like these boys would die for each other and again, it makes me yearn for school days like that.

minato shouji coin laundry (it counts bc of season 2) - specifically shin and asuka bc whenever they have a scene together im just having the best time. shin is so grumpy and asuka is so desperate to get under his skin bc despite the bickering exterior they are so besties and have this added layer of being the only other person to understand their position in their relationships. again it’s queers finding queers so even if it doesn’t make sense on the surface, there’s that shared experience that helps them bond and understand each other and it’s so good

the eighth sense - anytime i think of joonpyo i can’t help but smile bc he’s such a legend, and so well written, bc even tho we don’t see it, we get such a good idea of what his life is like and it’s actually separate from jihyun, like it really feels like these two have been besties for years but are taking this chance to explore their own lives without feeling the need to include the other, but still knowing they’re the person they can go home and talk to about it all. it’s knowing that person will always be there, and you can both be honest and real with them and also just act like total fools together.

only friends - and no this is not msp, im not putting this on here for the whole group bc this is not a good friendship group, this is here for sand and nick only bc they’re literally the only solid friendship in the whole show where they’re actually looking out for each other, and they fact they made out and were able to laugh and cuddle afterwards says it all. they are the pathetic second choice club that uniquely understand each other bc they’re the only other person that knows what it’s like to love someone that’s as much of a mess as ray and boston are.
