wait do people read first person stories and think they're the ones in the story???

Saw people talking about not liking first person, which is fair, but their reasoning was like "I would not do that" and I don't understand that mindset.

First person stories are still about a character. A character making their own decisions. First person isn't about you???? At least I thought it wasn't. What am I missing? I've always seen first person as just a more in-depth look into a character's mind and stricter POV. Not as a reader stand-in.

I think we as a society should bring back brotps. I think we should be weirder about characters being friends the same way people are weird about ships. Make those two characters who interacted once or twice besties. Make it difficult for them to get rid of each other even if they want to. Go nuts

I'm a zookeeper that's been working directly with black mambas (and other species of mamba) for the past year and a half or so, so I feel pretty confident in saying I'll take the 5 black mambas. Yeah they're fast, but they're not going to go out of their way to seek you out.

Assuming this is a typical mall that's way too cold all the time with tile/linoleum floors, the snakes are going to be too cold to do a whole lot, as well as not get adequate traction to move quickly.

And if you're worried about the snakes getting under door frames and the like, just hole up in a bathroom for the 24 hours with the AC cranked up and towels wedged under the door.

The meme this poll spawned from has also been passed around in a large Facebook group comprised of almost 20k keepers at this point (IYKYK) and a fair portion of keepers there also said they'd take the mambas over the gorilla.

i have such a love for characters who descend into madness or villainy out of deep, deep empathy. characters who fundamentally cannot cope with the cruel realities they find themselves in and blow up about it in spectacular fashion. fallen angel type characters with tears of outrage in their eyes. characters who break before they bend, and break so badly they splatter blood all over their noble ideals. every variation on it gets me so good
