Wayward Children by Seanan McGuire (2016-present)
Eleanor West’s Home for Wayward Children No Solicitations No Visitors No Quests
Children have always disappeared under the right conditions; slipping through the shadows under a bed or at the back of a wardrobe, tumbling down rabbit holes and into old wells, and emerging somewhere... else.
But magical lands have little need for used-up miracle children.
Nancy tumbled once, but now she’s back. The things she’s experienced... they change a person. The children under Miss West’s care understand all too well. And each of them is seeking a way back to their own fantasy world.

Codex Alera by Jim Butcher (2004-2009)

But in the remote Calderon Valley, the boy Tavi struggles with his lack of furycrafting. At fifteen, he has no wind fury to help him fly, no fire fury to light his lamps. Yet as the Alerans' most savage enemy--the Marat horde--return to the Valley, Tavi's courage and resourcefulness will be a power greater than any fury, one that could turn the tides of war...

Monk and Robot by Becky Chambers (2021-2022)

Muichiro and you finally make up Part 1 Part 2
To note : This upper moon is not any of the upper moons that are currently in the show right now. I merely made one up on a whim and I apologize if this is a little disappointing. I would also like to apologize if this was too long hahah.
The two of you dashed through the woods, trying to get to the location as fast as possible before anyone else gets killed. During the whole journey, muichiro kept trying to apologize.
"Hey, I wanted to say sorry, for everything, really.", he slightly shouted whilst running.
You don't respond and you weren't planning to. Perhaps you were just afraid that you might say something you didn't intend to but you ultimately decided to blame it on the fact that you didn't want to bite onto your own tongue instead.
"I'm sorry, really sorry."
There he goes again. Is that all he ever does? Spew out apologies like a broken recorder?
"Would you just shut it? God, your voice is starting to tick me off.", you finally replied, exasperated by his stubbornness to earn your forgiveness.
He keeps quiet before opening his mouth again.
"...Sorry."
Tsk. Could he stop that annoying habit?
"Stop apologizing or I won't even think about listening to you anymore.", you said as you ran faster, leaving him behind.
The two of you made it to the assigned village within an hour. Immediately, the smell of iron flooded your senses, causing you to cringe. You may have been too late to save some people but you refuse to let anyone else get injured.
"This way", muichiro said, as he rushed towards the west of the village. You followed behind him quietly.
It didn't take a lot of effort to find the demon. Or rather, it didn't put any effort in to hide itself. It was blatantly squatting there, tearing a human apart. The deafening crunch of human bones made you close your eyes in disgust.
Muichiro wasted no time, quickly unsheathing his sword to get an attack in on the demon before it could do so first. However, before his sword came into contact with the demon's neck, it vanished.
You instinctively jumped back, sensing something behind you.
The demon could be seen standing at where you once were, it's hand sticking out to where your neck was a few seconds ago.
You shuddered, had you not been any quicker to jump away, you may have just died right there.
You were just about to unsheathe your own weapon when you felt something warm trickling down your neck. You touched it and looked at the dark red liquid smeared on your hand.
You didn't feel any contact but yet you still got injured? How fast was this demon exactly?
Now that it was facing towards you, you could finally make out it's features. The demon was wearing a kimono that perfectly hugged it's petite figure and in it's right hand was a crystallized parasol. Before you could assess it even more, she looked up and scowled at you with such ferocity that it made your hairs stand on end.
Upper Five, huh.
You drew your weapon. It wasn't a normal sword like muichiro's, but a rapier instead.
When you first started training, you were able to use a normal sword as well. As time passed however, you found that having a rapier as a weapon suited you and your breathing style better. Like Shinobu, you also used wisteria poison to help fasten your killing process since trying to cut off the demon's head may take a few slashes from your weapon to effectively do so.
You gripped onto your rapier tightly, running towards the demon, and in one swift moment, you thrusted your sword straight at her neck, only for your attack to be parried by her parasol.
She swung the parasol, causing numerous crystallized shards to cover a large area of the ground. You jumped away, sustaining a few cuts on your arms and legs in the process.
Suddenly, she appeared under you in an instant, parasol closed and ready to pierce through whatever was in its way. You quickly bent backwards, the tip of the parasol scraping pass your chin. Muichiro was positioned behind her, ready to lop her head off before she disappeared once more.
"You're so annoying, can't you just stay still?", you grumbled in frustration as you wiped off the blood from your latest injury.
Muichiro looked at you in concern, some parts of your uniform were starting to turn darker from the injuries you received.
"Hey, are you alright? I'll protect you.", he said gently as he stood in front of you.
"Thanks, Muichiro, but do you think that I'm so weak as to need your protection?", you spoke, eyes boring holes into the back of his head.
"Just focus on protecting yourself.", you said as you pushed him aside.
The demon said nothing, only eyeing the two of you as if choosing who she should attack next. As if on cue, she launched at muichiro, who wasn't on guard at that time and landed a hit on his leg. You watched in shock as the demon's parasol pierced through his flesh. He yelled in pain and swung his sword down at the demon, severing the arm carrying the parasol.
You sprung into action, gathering your thoughts as you hit the demon with a flurry of quick thrusts, tearing tendons in their arms and legs before finishing with a shot to their neck. This time, it successfully went through the demons neck. You held your weapon tightly, anxiously waiting for your poison to take effect. As each second passed you grew more paranoid.
Your poison was not... working?
You immediately tried pulling your weapon out from its neck after coming to that realization. However, it was as if the demon already knew what you were planning to do next and quickly tried to merge with your sword still stuck in her neck. Your hand was still gripping onto the handle of your weapon, trying to tug it out despite it proving to be ineffective a few seconds ago. You watched in terror as the demon's left hand curled up to form a fist and before you knew it, pain bloomed from your stomach as you crashed onto a tree trunk.
The pain in your back was excruciating. You definitely broke many bones from the impact, you thought to yourself as you coughed up large amounts of blood. Your vision was blurry and your ears rang. You looked up to see the demon walk towards you. Every cell in your body was telling you to move, run, to do something rather than just lying on the trunk awaiting your demise. You tried to move but hissed in pain when you tried turning your torso.
The demon was now in front of you. Her arm had regenerated and another parasol grew from her palm. She aimed the tip at your head, preparing to deliver the final blow as you brought your hands up to form a pathetic defense.
However, the final blow never came.
You slowly opened your eyes and saw drops of blood fall onto your clothes. You turned your head up and gasped in horror. There was muichiro, standing in front of you, with the crystallized tip of the parasol stabbing through his stomach.
The demon twisted the parasol before pulling out and muichiro's limp body fell on you. You held his body close, eyes still wide open from what had occurred.
"Muichiro..? Mui- Wake up!", you pleaded as you tried to apply pressure onto his wound with your trembling hands.
Suddenly, you heard something drop. You followed the sound, and saw an eyeball. Then, another eyeball fell. You glanced at the demon, only to be met with the sight of her kneeling down, desperately trying to hold her face together with her hands. You wondered what was happening before something clicked in your head.
Your poison. It was working now.
Adrenaline took over all your senses, your heartbeat and breathing increasing rapidly as you quickly crawled over to grab muichiro's sword that was left at the side when he fell limp. You ignored the searing pain in your stomach and stumbled over to the demon.
Her skin was now melting from her face and it doesn't seem to be getting better for the demon anytime soon. You hold the sword at her neck, your hand visibly shaking due to the adrenaline rush. You pushed the sword through her neck, cutting through it in one clean swipe. Her head fell, turning into ashes before it even made contact with the ground. Her body laid on the ground lifelessly, slowly turning into ashes as well.
You collapsed a few seconds later, your legs finally giving out as the adrenaline began to settle down. You made your way back to muichiro's unconscious body.
"Mui..? Mui, why did you stand in front of me? Why couldn't you just protect yourself instead?", you asked teary-eyed as you cradled him, gently caressing and brushing stray hairs away from his face.
"Oh mui, please be alright... Please, I don't want to lose you..", you mumbled softly before closing your eyes and falling into a deep slumber.
Sunlight filtered into your room through the small cracks between the blinds, causing you to stir from your sleep. You looked at your surroundings groggily, trying to figure out where you were before coming to the conclusion that you were at the Butterfly Mansion.
How long had you been out for? And most importantly, how was muichiro doing?
You thought about paying him a visit before your eyes landed upon your hand intertwined with someone else's. You stared at your hand, before looking at the other hand connected with yours. You turned your head around and saw muichiro lying behind you, sleeping peacefully. Your eyes widened in surprise as you turned in the bed to face him properly. Your hand reached out, gently caressing his face.
"Should I maybe be unconscious more often?", muichiro spoke with a soft laugh as his eyelids fluttered open.
"Muichiro! Why are you even here- Aren't your injuries much worse than mine?", you replied quickly, a little embarrassed that he caught you in the act.
"I woke up a few days ago but you hadn't yet, so I decided to come here to wait for you.", he said.
"You shouldn't have recklessly taken that hit. You could've died if it pierced through your vital organs!", you said with a frown as you felt yourself getting angry again.
"I'm sorry, I just couldn't bear seeing you get anymore injured than you were.", he said, voice trailing off weakly as he looked away from you.
You kept quiet, unsure of how to respond to his sincere apology.
"Will you forgive me..?", he asked meekly as he looked back at you.
You pondered for a moment before sighing.
"I will, if you promise to not do something so brash ever again."
Upon hearing this, his eyes lit up.
"Would you.. consider being my lover again?", he asked hesitantly, holding his breath as he waited anxiously for your answer.
"I.. believe my heart had already started beating for you once more when you protected me from that fatal attack.", you replied, looking up at him with a small smile.
He smiled in absolute joy as he hugged you close to him.
"I missed you so much.", he said, happiness evident in his tone.
You slowly wrapped your arms around his back , returning the affection he was giving you.
"I.. missed you too."
I sincerely hope that you enjoyed this last part! Personally, I believe that this post is not on par as compared to the previous two but I still hope that some parts of this post made up for it.

THIS POST IS UNEDITED
spoilers if you haven't watched s2 of jjk- the hidden inventory arc
I do a recap in the beginning- SOOOOO
if u haven't watched season 2 yet- SKIP AHEAD
but if u know what happens and ur too impatient skip ahead ;-;
~~~
"The umbrella symbolizes the canopy of the heavens, shelter, and protection. The parasol is a symbol of the SUN, and an umbrella is a symbol of the shade. It is often an emblem of power and dignity."
___
Defeated. Gojo Satoru, the strongest sorcerer, the most powerful man in the modern world, felt defeated. how exactly?
Gojo had a mission to escort a girl named Riko Amanai alongside with his best friend, Geto Suguru.
Geto and Gojo were the strongest.
Riko was going to be sacrificed to a powerful being named Tengen to renew their existence for a period of time to protect the safety of sorcerers and their whereabouts.
But, the mission failed. Just when Riko realized she finally wanted to live for herself. She got shot in the head by a man named Toji, an assassin, who goes by many names but it mainly known for being the "killer of sorcerers".
Gojo avenged Riko's death by killing Toji.
And with that, Gojo became the strongest.
Finally learning how to control his power, and harnessing it to the fullest. He went on solo missions- orders given by his teacher, leaving his best friend behind.
But, little did Gojo know, his best friend lost his way, but at the same time, found his way. Found how he wanted to live his life.
Sorcerers kills curses, they protect non-sorcerers. Geto witnessed the ugliness of the weak, aka non-sorceres, when cultists wanted Riko dead, and they got what they wanted. Geto's other friend, a first year, named Yu Haibara, died during a mission with another first year by his side, Kento Nanami, who survived.
Riko's death, Yu's death, a conversation with a girl in the middle of his mourning- all changed Geto's ideals.
Geto massacred a whole village including his parents. His dream is to now eliminate all non sorcerers. He was expelled from jujutsu high with an execution on his head.
And, it was up to Gojo to kill him. But, he couldn't. Even when he had the chance, even when Geto turned his back on Gojo. He did nothing.
He couldn't kill his best friend. The only one he's ever had.
Riko's death, Yu's death, Geto leaving.
___ end of recap
All light was sucked out of Gojo's world. An endless void of despair and defeat, crushed his soul.
He questioned his strength, his very own being, everything.
He let his feet drag him to wherever. He walked and walked, and soon found himself somewhere in the city. Collapsing on the wet pavement of stairs, as his phone vibrated.
Dragging it out of his pocket and flipping it open to answer the call.
"Gojo.. where are you?" It was another friend of Gojos, her name was Shoko Ieiri, she was also good friends with Yu and Geto.
"I'm on a mission Yaga sent me on," he lied.
"How humorous. I asked Yaga and he said he hasn't sent you on a mission yet."
Gojo scoffed and threw his head back with his eyes shut, he simply just let the raindrops fall onto his face. He didn't even have the energy to activate his infinity to stop him from getting wet.
"Yeah.. well. I'm on a mission of my own. I want to be alone right now." He said, Shoko let out a big sigh.
"Gojo, come back- if you don't. I will find you-"
"Yeah.. well. Good luck with that."
He shut his phone, hanging up the call with his brunette friend. He shoved the electronic back in his pocket while the rain pattered on his body. It didn't hurt. It was calming, but also very lonely.
Anger filled his body, as he drowned himself more and more into his emotions, thoughts, and what he was going through. He hated being vulnerable. If he was blessed with these powers. Why... couldn't he save the one's closest to him?
"GODAMMIT!" Gojo screamed to the sky, "if I really am worth something, if I really am worth being here, send me a sign, a blessing!! Whatever!" He yelled, then his head dropped. His icy blue irises staring nothing into the ground as raindrops hit the cement.
"I... have nothing to lose." His voice came out as a whisper, despite screaming on the top of his lungs a few seconds ago.
He decided to give heaven a chance. He waited... and waited.. nothing. More rain on an empty street.
Until it all stopped. He heard the rain, but no longer felt it. Assuming it was Shoko, he sighed out.
"Wow. Found me already, Shoko? I'm impressed," he said then finally gained the strength to look over his shoulder, his heart jumped.
You.
Your hair starting to get damp from the rain, your e/c (eye color) orbs staring back at him with all your beautiful features. You were mesmerizing, hugging a dessert bag to your chest to stop the rain from soaking it, while you let your purse dangle loosely by your side.
He swallowed the lump in his throat.
"Uh-"
"Hi," you simply said with a smile, "I'm sorry I'm not this 'Shoko' you're talking about," you said with a small giggle, "but, you're getting wet, so here's my umbrella," your voice was soft, enchanting, music to his ears.
"Thanks." He said, as you held your umbrella out. But, he never took it from your grasp. It was big enough to cover you and him, so you placed it in between you two.
"Are you alright?" You asked, as you took a seat right next to him.
"Yeah.. why?" Is all he could force himself to say while staring back at you.
"Well, I mean.." you said looking around at the fast rain hitting every surface in your view before focusing your attention back on him, "you're sitting out here all by yourself. In the rain... in the cold... by yourself?"
He finally mustered up the courage to clear his throat and say, "I'm not exactly in my best moment right now."
You did nothing but smile, "understandable. But, you shouldn't be neglecting your needs. You could catch a cold."
He sighed, a non sorcerer talking about "needs".
"Yeah. Well. What exactly do I need right now?" He snapped, then sighed, "I have nothing to lose." It was silent, barely a whisper. But, you heard it, and did nothing but blink.
Then suddenly. You smiled and held out the umbrella.
"You need an umbrella."
Gojo : (ಠ_ಠ)
You giggled at his reaction.
"And, maybe... you need to find your way again," you said, making his eyes widened.
"Everything about you is bright. From your hair, your eyes, your skin," you pointed at each feature of his as you said it, then you dropped your arm to your side. "You glow on a dark cloudy-rainy evening like this, but you have this sad feeling to you."
He turned his head to stare at his feet.
"Whatever you're going through. I hope you get through it. With all the umbrellas you need!" You said, throwing your arms out. Then you smiled, "my grandma once told me, 'it's okay to lose your way, it's okay to be stuck once in a while. But, it's not okay to stay stuck in the same miserable spot.'"
Then you stood up, "you gotta pick yourself up! Because no one will," you stated, he nodded. He knows.
"And, life won't wait for you, it's just gonna keep going and going," you said and handed him the dessert bag you kept dry, "this has some kikufuku, castella, and a cake roll, if something makes everyone feel better- it's food! Especially sweets." You said with a small 'yum'.
He stared at you.
Then you smiled sheepishly, "it's been a couple hours since they were made- it's usually better fresh, but I hope you enjoy them either way!" You smiled, then waved goodbye at him.
"Goodbye stranger! Until we meet again," you said, turning around and walking away. Then suddenly, you jumped and turned around once again, "I forgot to say- you have really pretty eyes!" You yelled, then giggled, "bye now!"
He watched your figure turn the corner and disappear, but he continued to stare at nothing.
Speechless. He was speechless.
What just happened.
He's a stranger to you, you're a stranger to him, yet you gave him life advice, your umbrella, desserts, a compliment, and comfort- in less than 10 minutes.
Everything resumed, as he finally took in what happened. Not that he needed to, but he cursed at himself for not thanking you at the least.
Gojo hopes he can meet you again. Then he glanced at the shop name on the dessert bag, a small smile plastered his face. He knows how.
With the umbrella still in his hand, he picked himself up off the of ground with the dessert bag hanging around his wrist and began to make his way back to jujutsu high. Thoughts lingered his head. You roamed his mind even after he made it back, even when he was laying in bed at night.
The umbrella that you gave him was in the corner of his room, the moonlight peeking through his window dimly shining on it.
He asked for a blessing..
And there, you came.
Convenience store Vampire, part 2
Part 1 here :)
“Ya do know there's a dead Exorcist outside yer door, right? 'nd I think he's forming a ghost.”
I gaped. The mental image of an Exorcist becoming a ghost was hilarious, enough so that I was tempted to throw on my cloak and brave the morning light to see it. “You are not pulling my leg, are you? What kind of Exorcist ends up as a ghost?”
Ghosts were formed from the dregs of a soul, the determination to stay alive. I could have sworn all exorcists were taught ways of avoiding becoming ghosts, right along with their killing-vampire classes, but I guess this one missed the memo.
“'Swear on my bruised ‘ittle heart, I ain't! Come take yer 'brolly and see,” she exclaimed. “I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Reluctantly, I threw on my cloak and pulled out a parasol. With Hash hopping up and down in excitement by my side, I stepped out.
The morning sun burned and stung, even with the layers of clothing I wore. But it was worth it, to see the ectoplasm slowly coagulating into the form of a young man. “Did he get run over by a car? He's completely pulverised,” I noted.
Hash shrugged. “Dunno, but he's a wreck. 'Ink we oughta call someone?”
I considered the corpse. “Let's pull him into the shop, first. We can store him in the broom closet,” I said. The idea of one of my regulars finding two inhumans staring at a dead exorcist was not a pleasant one. I could already smell the smoke from the torches and taste the garlic oil on the stakes. Beside me, I knew Hash was thinking of it too.
“Wouldn't it be worse if we got caught with a corpse in yer shop? Maybe we oughta just call ‘em coppers, and be done with it,” she said dubiously.
“Yeah, but we should help him… Right?” I knew what the exorcists would do if they found one of their kind forming a ghost. It would be a quick bullet to the head for that newborn wraith. “It would be wrong to leave him out there for them to kill,” I said, thinking furiously. “But…”
Hash was one step ahead of me. “What if we bring the ghostie in and then call ‘em? We can pretend he didn't form anything, ya know?”
“I mean, it works, but they can sense the presence of twice-dead. They will know something is nearby, and they can probably put two and two together,” I said, and gave the corpse an experimental prod with the toe of my shoe. Ectoplasm and blood, along with something worse, oozed out.
Hash scrunched her face up. “Ya know, I think I know how to solve that,” she said. “Lemme call someone. You better drag ‘im in.”
Best Commissioned song from each character except I don't know anything about instruments and am bad at describing things.
Ichika (Hoshi wo Tsunagu): eh it's good. I don't really like any of her songs and this one is the best out of all of them. (I'm sorry bbg). Runner up is Made To Order
Saki (Tera Tera): What do you want me to say. Tera Tera is Tera Tera bro. Okay no lol it's a really good song and extremely catchy, the guitar is very fun and ichika saki and miku and a wonderful trio. Aioi is the runner up
Shiho (Peaky Peaky): I want 🎸🎸 to be 🎸🎸 legit-
What do you expect. The guitars. The basically trio of KAITO shiho and ichika. SHIHO. it's so catchy and funky and fun, which isn't normally something Leo/Need gets to be in their songs (which is fine I just wish they got more spunky stuff). Kaito is really well tuned and the guitar goes so fucking hard along with shiho and ichikas vocals. runner up is purpose
Honami (Flyway): literally gorgeous. Like. What else do I say. It's so different from Leoni's usual songs and it's better for it? Like the violins and whatever string instrument they're using is beautiful while still having some guitar or bass in there (I think) is just a wonderful mix of instruments and I wish they got to branch out more like that. Don't even get me started on the vocals HONAMI IS KILLING IT HERE. ichika's voice when the key changes is fucking amazing and everything about this song makes me want to scream. Ily honami. Runner up is Regulus
Airi (Momoiro no kagi): Holy fuck the everything about this song is just. Phenomenal. Everyone's vocals are on point, the instruments used are soft while still carrying, just like Airi's voice, like it was made for her (because. Well. It was.) This song is a lot different from her other songs and while I love (most of) them, this one is special to me because it's just so unlike her other ones and allows us to see a different side of her voice, one that's more melancholy. I'm going to stop here omg airi I love you sm. Runner up is Parasol Cider
Shizuku (Metamo RE:BORN): this song is so fucking stimmy and bouncy I ADORE it. The little click clacks in the background, the percussion doing absolute wonders, the vocals being so bouncy and matching the instrumentals perfectly, the buildup in the bridge (?) Is fucking amazing omg. Bopping so hard to this song it's so fun. Runner up is Hug
Haruka (Ai No Material): THE BEGINNING. THE SPARKLY SOUNDS. THE FUCKING VOCALS. everything about this song is so beautiful. I love everything about this song (except MEIKO'S tuning but. That's a whole other issue.) The chorus is so happy but in that calm, almost reserved way that reminds me of Haruka. It feels like floating on a teardrop. The guitar solo is good and so are all the parts after it omg. The soft quiet moment before the song picks up again for the end makes me want to bop my head i cant this song makes me so happy. THE ENDING ALSO. OH MY GOD. I CAN'T. I LOVE THIS SONG SM. runner up is float planner
Minori (World Wide Wander): this song is so fucking good. Why did y'all never tell me. This used to be in the bottom now it's one of my favorites. This song is so non-minori but it's literally perfect for her at the same time? The guitars, the overall... Vibe it gives off, you wouldn't expect a song like this from MMJ but they pull it off flawlessly. The guitars were an unorthodox choice but once again are actually really good. Also airi in this song omfg she sounds so good I can't- just. It's so catchy and fun I love it. Runner up is Teamate
An (Overthrow): I am so sorry An. This song is good. Rin's tuning is good and the chorus is great. The part where akito and an go off is good. I think this song does a good job of displaying everyone's unrest and upset after learning about such earth-shattering news. But it's nothing amazing to me. Runner up is Awake Now
Toya (Utsuro wo Aogu): everything about this song is so great. GOD. like. Holy shit Toya. The instrumentals are super good and do a fuck ton for the song, but the vocals are definitely a highlight in particular. Everyone sounds amazing and the girls acting as almost backup singers while still having their time to shine in the song is really charming to me. Of course the part where everyone says a part of their partner's name makes me want to rip at the walls/pos. But the part right after that makes me want to get up and scream omg. Everyone is on their A-game in this song and that makes this songs so fucking amazing omg. "Runner up" is blender
Okay so this was written pre-blender and now my opinions have changed blender is the best Toya comm but I don't feel like writing another analysis so it's the runner up
Kohane (Hitsuji ga ippiki): EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SONG IS PERFECT. the vocals the tuning the instrumentals the everything. Everyone is pulling their weight and akina and jiena went OFF in the recording studio. The buildup is so fucking good you don't understand. And Akina's like. Rolling of her Rs at the end killed me dead/pos. Kohane got to shine in a way she NEVER does in other songs and really got an opportunity to show how she can fit so so well into grungier songs and also MEIKO'S tuning is good for once so we all knew this song was gonna be a banger. Runner up is Beat Eater
Akito (Cinema): This song singlehandedly made me love Akito. And it's the first song to make me cry. I LOVE Cinema. The song to me isn't catchy or anything that scratches my brain but it's so fucking good that I love it a lot anyway. The lyrics speak to me a lot because of my experiences with not feeling like enough, wanting to give up but pushing through anyway because maybe, maybe one day I'll be able to be someone with something. But the lyrics progressively get more hopeful throughout the song, and I get more hopeful along with them. I don't have to wait around for the day to come when I can make that day today or smth. Idk man that song fucks me up. Like. A lot. Runner ups are Moonlight AND CRaZY
Kanade (Tricologe): I don't have much to say about this song. It's funky and fun and literally Kanade's only good comm (I'm sorry samsa). The vocals are good and I like Miku's tuning in this song. Um. Kanade's vocals are really good. NILFRUITS being commissioned for Kanade of all people is really surprising but done really well. Idk man this song really is good I just don't have anything much to say about it. Runner up is Kanadetomosusora
Ena (Nomad): all of ena's songs are around the same level of good but nomad beats out the others because of just how much of an improvement the full version is. I Nandesu is good either way and so is Infinitely Gray, but Nomad's full version is so much of a glow up in comparison to the game version that I can't help but appreciate it more. That and mizuki and Ena murder this song with their phenomenal vocals so this one takes the cake. The instrumentals are as per usual good and the like. Idk what it is but the little high pitched noise that plays is so so good. I love it. Runner up is I Nandesu
Mizuki (Kitty): you know what this song shouldn't be my favorite. It's just. So. Fucking. Catchy. It was the song I listened to the most over the summer. I was playing it non-stop and it somehow became my favorite that way. The guitars in particular goes so fucking hard in this song for no gaddamn reason and Ena's "1, 2, 3, 4" followed by the mizumafu part was a fatal combination. This song was nothing to me at the beginning because I was low-key tired of electric guitar but this song is so absurdly good it kinda trumps that. How did this happen. Runner up is IDSMILE
Mafuyu (Bug): Everything in this song is perfect and it was my favorite song in the entire game for so long. You don't understand. The instrumentals the hard intense beats and the fast pace. It's addicting. The small little noises and vocals that they added are so so good. But what really majes this song is mafuyu. This song has the best vocals in the entire game and Mafuyu is the reason why. The buildup then the sudden key change with Mafuyu fucking belting like she never has before. I stim so fucking hard to this song. Niigo has literally never sounded better than in this song and no other Nightcord song has been able to top this one since. Runner up is Jackpot Sad Girl
Rui (Showtime Ruler): this song is really good I like it. The lyrics are super sweet the instrumentals are so fun and spunky and so very Rui. Everything about this song is Rui. The instrumental the lyrics the fucking 3DMV. The little robot sounds in the bg (listen with headphones to hear it better.) Tsukasa and Rui's solos nearing the end of the song are so fucking good. This song is the embodiment of fun and quirkyness and Rui in general it makes me sick I love this song. The guitars are also really fun. Runner up is Donketsu
Nene (Glory Steady Go!): NENE!!!! THE GIRL!!!! Now THIS is how you make a song featuring mainly a duet between the VS and the Character of the song (im sorry leoni ilysm just not your songs). Nene is so perfect in this song, she sounds so free and happy in a way she doesn't normally mainly because she gets so many solo lines WHICH IS A GOOD THING!! ITS HER SONG IT'S ABOUT HER!!! The others do a perfect job of enhancing nene's vocals while still having a spot to shine without taking the focus away from Nene. The line distribution in this song is masterful and that's one of the main reasons why I love it so damn much. The instrumentals are fun as fuck and encapsulate Nene really well for me, still being chaotic and fun (because it's wondersho) but still keeping that slight subdued-ness that Nene has. It feels like Nene letting loose and just. Letting herself be a bit less... Reserved? She sounds like she's having a good time I mean. Luka is tuned really well here and adds a lot to the song, which is a trend in Luka comms. The small chants and tiny little noises of laughter and screams and talking is just so great man. The moment before the final chorus where Nene is like "you guys are a headache but doing shows with everyone is super fun!" While slightly crying I fucking hate wandasho I need to run them over oh my fucking god they love each other so much. That's it. That's what this song makes me feel. The song doesn't just feel like Nene cutting herself loose it feels like her letting herself get caught up in the rest of wandasho's antics. She's letting herself be influenced by the rest of wandasho and by a result the song is more chaotic than what you'd expect from Nene. Because Nene would have never gotten to this point without her friends. Without wandasho. I'm gonna fucking cry omg Nene is literally the best character in this game omg. Runner up is Hoshizora no Melody
Emu (Kira pipi Kira pika): this song is perfect. It's perfection. It's literally one of the best songs in the entire game. Words cannot describe how much I love this song. The instrumentals are amazing, but they also don't go as hard in favor of letting the voices shine instead. And the fucking voices. Emu sounds really cute here, matching the songs tempo to near perfection, but honestly I have to give this song to the entire group as a whole (which makes a lot of thematic sense considering how integral her friends are to her as a person and by extent her story). The small little exchanges and rapid-switching from one singer to another does a perfect job of keeping the energy high and fanciful, and when the song does slow down, it feels just the right amount of somber (especially since this song is so happy otherwise) while picking back up in a natural and very impactful way. It mirrors the relationship in wondersho; whenever Emu is feeling down and needs some reassurance, the others are always there to pick her back up and help her get going again. this song feels like it's telling you a story; the story of Wonderlands x Showtime, the story of Emu learning to move on and go to her next adventure with her friends omfg I love Emu so fucking much I would kill for her. Runner up is Niccori ^^ Survey Theme
And last, but definitely not least...
Tsukasa (Mr. Showtime): Okay. Okay okay okay. This. Fucking. Song. I literally cannot type because I keep getting swept up in the fucking PERFECTION that is Mr. Showtime. This song is the best song in the entire game. And I do NOT say this lightly. The instrumentals. The vocals. Luka. FUCKING TSUKASA TENMA. Oh my fuckinf god. Everyone and everything in this damn song is fucking PERFECT, this is Wonderlands x Showtime pushed to their fucking limits with how fucking hard they can go with a song. This feels like something straight out of a fucking musical and I mean that in the highest of praises. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, is on their fucking A-game here. Tsukasa of course steals the show with his PHENOMENAL vocals, but Rui Nene and Emu are not taking a backseat in this song. Holy shit it is the opposite. They carry this song on their fucking backs (along with tsukasa) because if they weren't there the song would be SO much worse. Like so much. God this song is so smooth and seamless and mesmerizing, it's too easy to get swept up in the song and dance along with it. It makes you want to get up and dance. Actually no I'm nowhere near done this song makes me want to CRY OMFG. I'm abt to go into specifics about EVERYTHING be Warned.
Okay so the instrumentals are perfect. Literally perfect. The saxophone (I think) is THE MAIN REASON WHY THIS SONG IS PERFECT. i have no idea what kinda percussion that is in the background but it does a perfect job of keeping you following along with the beat so I never go off track. The piano is SO GOOD. I know it's most major appearance is in the beginning but you can hear it if you listen closely, right before the chorus, kinda like a lead-in to it? It makes me sick. Hitoshizuku x yamaP put crack cocaine into these instrumentals. And no I'm not done btw. I have no fucking idea what it is but the like. Percussion. In the part where tsukasa is holding the balloons (In the 2dmv) is great. And I love that part. The instrumentals atp have only stopped like once so the sudden lack of saxophone and other stuff makes this moment more impactful and makes it HURT I LOVE THIS SONG. Another thing I'd like to mention is that they have never gone so fucking hard on the instrumentals before. There are a BUNCH of subtle changes, such as putting more or less emphasis on an instrument and stuff like that. How do I say this the song feels like it follows along with the vocalists and adjusts things depending on the current mood of the characters. Dare I say. Like a musical
Idek what to call it but the SFX are also amazing. The tape reel in the part after the first chorus and the clapping before the Intermission part always gets me really excited. I'm also including the little small noises that the others make and classifying them as sound effects. Emu and Tsukasa's little cheer in the part right before the second chorus is so good I rewind it over and over again I hate them they make me sick.
And now the vocals. I am going to be going on an incoherent rant now. Tsukasa is obviously the lead but he's also the leader of this song, so yes he gets the most impactful parts but it also feels like he directs when the rest of the cast respond (0:19-0:23 is a good example of what I mean), like he calls and they call back to him i guess? words are hard. Anyway the vocals are so well coordinated and perfect. Every character gets to have their own moment and the way the song switches from vocalist to vocalist (a perfect example is 2:37-2:44 if you're confused) keeps the song from ever feeling stagnant which then means I always get distracted by it cause it keeps you engaged the entire time.
I'm not good at interpreting lyrics but the lyrics hurt me/ pos. Read them and you'll understand. The double meanings hurt meeee- tsukasa loves his friends so much he loves being an actor so much he wants to keep going he wants to hold on he wants to remember he is so full of determination and love and that is a potent combination. I love you tsukasa tenma. Can you tell I like tsukasa tenma. Fuckkkkkkkk. Runner up is 88* and Filament Fever
Okay that's it! You can definitely tell where my biases kicked in and it's very obvious I know nothing about instruments but otherwise I think this is okay. Thank you for reading and if you have any input to add please do I would love to hear it
Hello!~ names Alcine, a pleasure truly a pleasure. (A Hazbin hotel x reader ask)
(PLATONIC)
I have an idea for a story, a shapeshifting reader that can travel dimensions!?! Like imagine, reader finds a genie or something; and they are from our world so ofc they’re fricken stocked so they wish for “the power to travel between universes” , “ the power to shape shift” and whatever you think the third should be; we, the readers, are obviously obsessed with helluva boss + Hazbin hotel so they choose to travel in there with (I hope your fine with a character description; if so it’ll be at the end of his rant!~) the hopes of becoming extreamly powerful; for fun of course! And since they’re from our world, they know plot points.
Personally I think the time set should be around right before (SPOILERS FOR THE EP. ON PRIME AHEAD) Vaggie and Charlie go to heaven; due to their shapeshifting and “teleportation” they follow them around in an angel form (another discription might be said at the end; like the other, only if your fine with that is.) and they sneak their way into the court house and watch the whole ordeal; recording it with their (from our world phone) and with the helluvaphone (no idea what they’re called lol) and giggling.
They ofc get noticed (at the end of the “hell is forever” song) and they phase back into hell in one of their demon forms.
And they stalk the hotel for a bit, Mayhaps even joining it, and they help with the fight; knowing plot points they push niffty in the direction (SPOILER) of killing Adam; then they go check on the man with the mental breakdown…. Alastor!!!! And they like watch his whole song and stuff (well recording in their phone from this universe secretly) and perhaps reader reveals they aren’t from this universe!??? I’ll let you decide!~
(Characters ) ; Demon :: tall, oujji dressed (or dark Lolita) with a parasol covering their face.
Their face is masked in a shadow only letting people see their eyes, and on occasions their nose and teeth. Sharp pale white hands with retractable claws. (Honestly I think either jet black hair; or pure white would work)
; Angel :: perhaps resembles sera or Emily; but has wings covering their face (like wings coming from just above their ears; and they fold to cover their face and eyes.) , with two pairs of wings on her back and long jet black hair that goes to the bottom of their back
(I usually do anon asks for stuff like this; but i truly wanna see this happen!!!)
(If I could add on; if you don’t wanna do this book of an ask; please @ or dm me letting me know you won’t be! Many thanks!~)
~🍖
Hi, Alcine! Thanks for your request. I reloaded the page like twice to double check this was a request. ┗(⩺ᆺ⩹ ;)┛
I wonder if you read my request info cause I did say I'll be writing Alastor x reader stories for the moment. But this request was interesting and I made an exception. A good test to see if I can manage these types ᕦ(´•㇁•`)ᕤ
Anyways~ It's written and posted!
i miss gabiyui
raining romance is suddenly sweet || gabiyui
summary: the first time he kissed her was the first time his heart broke
themes: pure fluff and joy bcos I like them being gentle (with a bit of angst ofc)
x-x-x-x-x
Happiness.
It was the first thing Gabimaru felt when he learned on his own that he was in love with his wife, Yui.
Once upon a time, there was a normal day when Yui had to get all the laundered clothes from their yard, the wind making the clothes sway as she tried so hard to catch them before they flew off somewhere. And as she struggled, there was a melodious giggle coming from her mouth, singing in his ears something akin to joy. She's beautiful as she tucks her hair behind her ear, making sure the strands would stay in place.
That was the moment. He even mumbled "I love her" under his breath, and he was relieved she didn't hear anything. This was one step from feeling emotions, and he wasn't ready to convey to her about these feelings yet.
But lately, he found himself feeling a little more composed than usual, much calmer and quicker because he doesn't like wasting time that didn't involve Yui. Even the others note that "Gabimaru-sama's been a different in his killing tactics", but Shija would just defend him by saying, "Maybe he's just trying a different approach."
x-x-x-x-x
However, no one told Gabimaru that being in love would also cause him heartbreak.
The first time he felt heartbreak was when he decided to act upon his feelings. As happy as he was with the arrangement, he simply couldn't resist the fact that he wanted to touch her. Yui had always initiated contact, may it be cleaning him up, tending to his wounds, holding his hand, etc. But this time around, he wanted to test himself.
It happened during supper, when Yui was graciously scooping up sweet potato rice for his bowl. As she offered the food for him, Gabimaru intentionally let his fingers linger on hers, grabbing the bowl out of her hands and expertly setting it on the table. Yui was caught off guard by this act, her face reddening as Gabimaru wouldn't still let go of her hand. When she looked up, she found him staring at her intently for a good few minutes before he urged her to pray for their meal.
Yui didn't think much of it back then, which made Gabimaru frown as he didn't expect her to be like that. That's why he decided he had to be bolder with his ulterior motives. He would tuck her hair behind her ear. He would loiter around within her vicinity so he would be there in case shee needed him. Holding hands still made him nervous, but for her, he endured his anxiety, schooled a neutral expression but made sure she will comprehend what he wanted to say. For Yui, it seemed that Gabimaru has warmed up to her, but for Gabimaru, it all meant he wanted to take things further.
x-x-x-x-x
Everything has just began, and everything ended when he kissed her.
He was assigned on a 3-day long mission, which he forced himself to complete in one and a half day because he didn't want to waste time not seeing Yui. That's why it came to Yui as a surprise when she saw Gabimaru limping his way towards their home in the rain, his bloodied form getting soaked.
Yui hurriedly opened her parasol and ran to his side, concern on her face as she touched her husband's face to confirm his safety.
"You should've taken a rest, dear," she reprimanded. "You'll catch a cold like this."
On normal days, Gabimaru would pay attention to every single word she says. However, today was an exception. He was longing for her lips--soft, plump, tempting him to take the forbidden step because the reality of it feeling good against his was better than what he initially imagined.
"Dear, are you listening to me? Dear--"
He leaned down and captured her lips in a gentle kiss, a complete shock in her features as she held on his shoulders for support, completely dropping her parasol and joining him in the rain. This act was unbecoming of them, and they knew for sure someone might scold them. Imagine two fools kissing in the rain like they're in an opera.
When Gabimaru pulled away, he decided to make sure that it was real, so he kissed her again before she could move. This time around, his taste felt familiar to her. Her husband.
He tastes like all the good things in this world.
But despite being relieved about his feelings, Yui broke his heart by completely stepping away, a hint of regret in her hazel eyes as she shakingly picked up her umbrella and told him to clean himself up in the house. He stood in the rain, completely hurt and broken. All he could replay in his head is her fear.
As I thought, she thinks of me as a monster, after all.
x-x-x-x-x
They had dinner in complete, awkward silence. Yui wanted to lighten up the mood by describing the flavors of the fish stew that she cooked, but given the tension in the air, she couldn't find it in herself to bring joy to the table. And when she looked up to gaze at him, her eyes fell on his lips, her face reddening in embarrassment as she remembered their kiss in the rain and wondered how Gabimaru could be so romantic like that when all he did was train to kill.
And when he almost caught her staring at him so wantonly, she quickly averted her gaze, breaking his heart all over again. He sighed in frustration, loudly setting his chopsticks and bowl on the table.
"I'll be going up first."
"Ah, no! Wait--"
"Yui."
She paused, noticing how he looked so dejected, forlorn eyes gentle yet sad.
"About what happened, just forget about it."
The chance was slipping away, and Yui didn't want to let go of the red thread. She instantly went after him.
"D-Dear! Wait!"
Gabimaru turned to her, walking backwards until his back met the wall, leaving Yui to corner him before he could run away. It was unfair, for him especially, since Yui was a bit taller, so she was kind of towering over him.
What now? Does she want to hurt me more than this?
"Don't tell me to forget about it because I could never do that!" she claimed, almost begging him to take his words back. "I... I was genuinely happy that you kissed me."
"Then why?" Gabimaru spat harshly. This was not the tone he was going for, but he wanted answers. He had initially planned to deal with this agony, but he knew he'll go insane knowing that his wife doesn't feel the same. "Why did you push me away?"
"... B-Because..." Yui was hesitant. She should've been just confident, but she couldn't help this tiny part of her that speaks like the devil. "Why me? I'm... I'm not as particularly smart as my other sisters or talented. I'm also not as beautiful as them."
Gabimaru wanted to snort if it weren't for the seriousness of their conversation. "But you're beautiful," he countered in an honest manner. "You're the most beautiful girl I have ever met."
Yui blushed at his statement.
How can he be this smooth?
"I don't particularly care in other aspects, though, but my feelings for you are true. That's why I swore I'll be yours forever, right?"
Yui swore his words will be the death of hear.
"Yui."
She turned to him, watching as he gingerly held her cheek and offered a small smile.
"I only need you, that's why there's no need for you to compare yourself. You're the only one that matters."
She held her breath, feeling her legs turning into jelly as she was getting bombarded by his romantic feelings. Before she could drop on the floor, Gabimaru expertly caught her, his hand on her back as she held on his shoulder to prevent herself from losing footing.
Yui gulped in nervousness. This position is so fatal for me.
"I'll kiss you again."
"E-Eh?"
Gabimaru chuckled. She was being silly right now. But who cares. That made her even more loveable.
He inched his face closer. "I'll kiss you again. You can let go if you don't want to."
This was so embarrasing for her, knowing how Gabimaru got her in the palm of his hand. Then again, the sound of being his didn't seem so bad.
So she closed her eyes and braced herself for the warm impact.
Maybe I'm not good enough at reading the plot’s underlying messages, but it wasn't until the lake or birthday preparation episode (22nd to be precise) that I understood the menace Fukiko's insanity is.
Because what the actual hell. I knew she was manipulative and a liar. I knew how she pretended to be a mature and responsible girl to the eyes of the Sorority and the Academy. She had previously behaved with cruelty towards Rei (I'd like to talk about her masochist tendencies one day), but what happened in this episode did shock me.
In prior episodes we saw how aloof these young women could be. The threatening to Mariko with razors, the strange pointy instrument used for flower arrangement on Rei's hand, or even that time when Fukiko locked Nanako up in the Sorority's basement. Now, each and every of these actions are horrendous... But to see an attempted murder was truly something else.
I do believe Fukiko didn't want to kill Nanako (I hope lol), just scare her. To remind her who was in control, who stood above everyone else. She took such drastic measures to ensure Nanako thought twice if she was ever to do anything that could reveal her vulnerabilities... WHAT?! I know we all know how these girls are insane, each of them due to their personal and diverse reasons. Nonetheless, this case is the one that struck me the most.
Something that freighted me was her behaviour during the act, she was smiling as if it were her daily cup of tea. Fukiko could have ended with Nanako's life and she never dealt with any responsibilities, which shows how her social status gives her once again unlimited elusiveness to punishment.
Fukiko saw Nanako as a threat to everything that maintained her power. Is ironic how she wanted to mock and humiliate the younger in the first place, how the naive Nanako indirectly opposed her values and beliefs. It amused her in the beginning, a source of humor. But when she saw how this girl could A) Help Rei, and B) Dismantle her image, Fukiko acknowledged she had to take the matter into her own hands.
Now, let's analyse the true horror of this scene:
• The apparition:
On a small boat, impulsed by absolutely nothing for the oars are motionless, Fukiko makes her apparition to Nanako. She carries a parasol, as if she had prepared herself for an actual aquatic stroll. We must remember that instances earlier she had fired a service worker and looked agitated, making her casual and "peaceful" appearance so... creepy. And if you believed it couldn't be more odd, she proceeds to jump off the boat into the lake.
• In the water:
Nanako, to the sudden action, becomes worried and approaches herself to the water. Just like a mermaid, Fukiko emerges gracefully from the water. Out of nowhere, she grabs the younger's ankle and pulls her into the lake. Fukiko draws Nanako deeper with a sadistic expression on her face, completely conscious and aware of her actions. Meanwhile Nanako fights for her life, because one her foot got caught between two branches, the Sorority's President swims away to the surface. But not yet. She stays and observes the other resist until she's almost unconscious.
• Outside the water:
From the middle of the lake, Fukiko emanates with Nanako between her arms. She becomes the saviour of the girl she had condemned.
The abusive behaviour of Fukiko is concerningly accurate. She asks for forgiveness, she excuses herself, and she feigns preoccupation. Fukiko wants Nanako to understand how powerless she is against her. She's not only older, richer, more astute and influential, but also physically stronger. She threatens her subliminally, for she doesn't have to express what she wants, she knows Nanako will understand. It's utterly terrifying.
Anyways, love this show.
Floral Fumo Friday of the Week: Blue Wood Aster(Symphyotrichum cordifolium)
Yuuka is very sleepy and slow at moving so she is always late! But Friday is still happening somewhere in the world so this is the one proper Floral Fumo Friday for now. I've actually noticed that some bees are accidentally photobombed in the photos I've taken too.
This week's flora is Blue Wood Aster aka Heartleaf Aster (Symphyotrichum cordifolium)! As you can guess by its name or maybe how similar it looks, it's a member of the same flower as sunflowers and the goldenrods of a previous post, the Aster family, starflower family or Asteraceae. This flower is very fragrant, and while the flower disc only appears in shades of blue to white, flower clusters in the middle of the disc go from yellow to purple over time.
The word "aster" means star, flowers and other flora are like stars of the earth. Like the sun seen in the day and some other stars seen in the night sky are one star, some flowers are simply just one flower. Other stars appear to be one star but are actually a cluster of many different stars. Flowers in the Aster family are similar where a flower looks like simply one single flower but it is actually a cluster of tinier flowers at the center, and the petals outside of the cluster is a disc. This makes them extremely popular to pollinators who are preparing for winter, because more flowers means more nectars to collect from.
Reimu and Marisa are here to investigate strange flowers appearing around the shrine. They find none other than the terrible, fearsome youkai, Yuuka Kazami, around said flowers. Reimu becomes suspicious because she has caused an incident before, then Yuuka tells Reimu that she doesn't want to fight today. She explains to Reimu and Marisa that she wants to change the nature of herself as a youkai, because she has seen humans, animals, and flowers today change their own nature from what they were when she was still young. She wants to grow and change from being a youkai that lives in darkness to a youkai of flowers and nature. Reimu and Marisa note that she is not using her parasol and see some marks on her face, but Yuuka quickly brushes it off.
Marisa questions where the flowers are from, Yuuka says that she has never seen them before, either, but they look like the flowers of the garden that she has moved into. She tells both Reimu and Marisa, "You may not understand yet, or maybe nobody has told you yet, but the world we're in right now is a closed space from the rest of the world separated by a barrier, and things that are lost and forgotten end up here. Of course, the Hakurei Shrine, the abandoned village filled with cats, my old home, and these flowers are on that same barrier."
She explains that after she caused an incident before and lost, the residents of Mugenkan thought of Yuuka as being too polite to humans by letting Reimu and Marisa run amok in the mansion and going too easy on them. They thought that she became too old to do her job as Headmistress even though she claims that being 4987 years old is not that old. She tells Reimu that she has found a new home in Gensokyo, and has merged the Fantasy World and Mugenkan with a world created by two twin demons, then gave the mansion and its region of the now-merged world up to them.
She looks at a bee and says that the Queen Bees have it more crueler. The Queen is not actually the ruler, if the queen grows older and doesn't do her job, the Hive kills her and replaces her with a new one. To Yuuka, she had it much easier and just gave her Mugenkan away. Reimu and Marisa both become startled by her words, but she tells them that bees have much more mortal lives than humans. Their drive is to make sure their hive lives on to create new bees, so flowers of a plant, some also just as mortal as a bee, can be pollinated. There are many tiny beasts like honeybees, and almost every flower needs them to grow even more flowers; she tells Reimu and Marisa that they would never experience the joy of sweet fruits like apples or cherries if it wasn't for those tiny beasts and their hard work.
Reimu and Marisa afterwards say that she talks too much, and both proceed to fight her and kick her out of the area by the Hakurei Shrine.
By the way, the honeybee (Apis mellifera) in the second pic is a photobomb. I didn't even notice her there when I originally took it, so I made a story about it.
Apocalyptic Anniversary~
Jaune: Ruby!
Ruby: Tacitus, you're here, but shouldn't you be with your team?
Jaune: Their busy and can manage, look Ruby what I need you to do now is get to the top of that tower and help Pyrrha out, I'll handle him.
Jaune points to Torchwick, who just rolls his eyes.
Ruby: But Tacitus, that's THE Roman Torchwick, a very bad man!
Jaune: It will be alright, Ruby, trust me, I'll take it from here. Believe in me.
Ruby looked unsure, but Roman didn't seem to make a move, so he must be afraid to attack.
Ruby looked at Jaune determination in her silver eyes.
Ruby: Alright, Tacitus I believe in you good luck!
Glancing at Roman one more time, Ruby turned into petals and flew off towards the top of the tower.
Roman: bahahahahaahahah! Oh, Jaune, great speech! 'Believe in me'.
Jaune: Where's Trivia?
Roman: uhhh, she kinda fell off the side of the ship?
Jaune: She WHAT!?
Roman: Don't worry, her parasol got her safely to the ground. She is safe.
Jaune calmed a bit but got back focused back to the task at hand.
Jaune: What the hell are we doing Roman?
Roman: What do you mean Jaune, this is all part of the plan...
Jaune: This? All this destruction and death? What is the end result of all this! What happened to stealing whatever Ozpin was hiding!?
Roman: Are you really having second doubts about this!?
Jaune: Because this ain't US, this aint Trivia, Yang or you, Roman!
Roman: Oh, what do you know about US, I clearly remember you leaving Yang, me and Neo for two years to go on whatever little sabbatical you did.
Roman: And then a year after you left, Raven took Yang to do whatever with her tribe, leaving just me and Neo.
Jaune didn't say anything at that.
Roman: I looked after her while she was in tears, I helped train and build her up while you were off doing whatever the hell.
Roman: And what's all this for? I want us to be kings and queens!
Jaune: Oh, I'm sorry, Your Highness, let me rephrase: Here is King Roman, king of nobody, yeah, such a good idea. Let's cut the bullshit and call this for what it is, You want revenge.
This time it was Roman to be quiet.
Jaune: I know you want revenge on the council for what they did to Mt. Glenn, Roman, but your damning people who had NOTHING to do with it!
Jaune points out to the city of Vale, smoke billowing in the sky as cries and pleas for help echoed into the night.
Jaune: I know you want revenge, but following Cinders plan is going to get you, Yang and Trivia killed!
Jaune: Yang is hurt, Trivia is god knows where, and you still wanna go through with whatever that damn lady planted inside your head!?
Roman: She is the only one who can give us the power to actually change things, Jaune. Us. we could actually be something instead of just thieves waiting for a bigger score.
Jaune: You don't honestly believe Cinder is gonna let you or any of us live? We told her no once, and she is the type of people to remember things!
Roman: It will work out Jaune!
Jaune: No, Roman, you'll damn us all if you continue through with this. Is that what you want!?
Roman: I want better for us, Jaune! Why can't you see that!?
Jaune: I do see it, Roman, but not like this! You're only gonna prove the council right. there is a better way, Roman.
Roman: How can you be sure, Jaune?
Jaune: I don't know, but please, you can start by believing in me, Roman!
Roman looked into Jaune's pleading eyes as chaos and destruction rained all around.
Jaune just looked at Roman. If he didn't see reason, he would force him. Jaune wouldn't lose his family, not like this.
Roman: Haha, you've truly soaked up a lot of the hero stuff from Beacon.
Roman: Still Jaune, how do you think we can stick it to the council...I mean, it's not like we can build our own city overnight.
Jaune, when he heard that, just laughed to which Roman raised an eye brow.
Jaune: Man, I was hoping to save this for Trivia and our anniversary, but...
Jaune reaches into his bag before pulling out a rolled up piece of paper, tossing it to Roman who caught it.
Jaune: Open it, this is my gift to you and Trivia...and the reason I left for two years, it all culminated into this paper.
Roman opened the paper and began reading it.
Roman: Jaune this is...
Jaune, nodding: mmhmm.
Roman: H-h-how did you get the deed to all of Mt. Glenn?
Jaune: A lot of searching and a lot of money, but I was able to find the son of the man who had the deed to the land, I did what he asked and paid his price and so...
Jaune smiled a bright smile as Roman just looked at the boy he thought of something akin to a son.
Jaune: Congratulations, Roman, you own -
Jaune couldn't get much said as he was put into a headlock/hug.
Roman: Thank you, I truly mean it, Jaune.
Jaune: Ah, think nothing of it, but just because we got all of Mt. Glenn, we still gotta get rid of all the Grimm occupying the land.
Roman: We'll think of that later, Jaune, but now let's regroup with Trivia. She's been blasting my scroll for the past ten minutes.
Jaune nodded, happy that Roman was able to look past Cinders' plan. Now we they go help everyone back at Beacon and-
A glint of red eyes caught Jaune's eye.
Roman: Alright, Jaune, so what's the plan? I can message Neo, and she can-
Roman didn't get to say anything else as suddenly he found himself pushed face first onto the floor.
Roman got up and looked in the other direction.
Roman: Jaune what the-
Roman's eyes widened in horror as he saw Jaune holding the mouth of a Nevermore from swallowing him.
Jaune: Find Trivia and Yang.
Jaune activated his aura just as the Nevermore swallowed him whole.
Roman: No Jaune!
Roman attempted to fire from Melodic Cudgel, but the Nevermore was already flying away.
All that was left behind was Jaune's blade. Crocea Malum.
.
Neo was silently FUMING.
Damn little red for knocking her off the ship, now Roman had to fight her alone.
Yang wasn't answering, and neither was Jaune.
Fuck fuck fuck, maybe Jaune was right in not going along with Cinders plan...maybe this shit wouldn't be all fucked up.
Neo shook her head. No use crying over it now.
'Ping'.
Neo's eyes flew towards her scroll.
'Meet me at the docks, warehouse B'.
Neo's eyes widened.
That wasn't part of the plan? Weren't we supposed to take the airship and demolish Beacon?
Neo's narrowed her eyes but typed out okay in her scroll.
If this wasn't Roman, then whoever had his scroll would be very sorry.
-
Blake shed a tear as she saw the medic working on the body of Yang. She held on to Yang's hand. Her only hand remaining.
All thanks to Adam Taurus...
Blake just squeezed Yangs hand as tears ran down her face.
Whumptober Salvage: Episode 1
I obviously did not do Whumptober this year as my October schedule was INSANE. Now that I have a good percentage of my life back, I want to make up for this, as I have some cool ideas and I need the challenge of writing on a schedule.
I can't guarantee that I can produce something every day, but I'm damn well going to try. Caveat that these shorts (ha, "shorts," they said, laughing) will be less polished than my usual work (much less edited, if at all), as I'm using this as an exercise to get my writing back in shape before tackling my larger projects.
Today's theme: Forced to Choose
Today's author commentary: This was supposed to be a short. It ended up just over 2,000 words.
Warnings: Major character death
~~~~~~~~~~~
Bleck is dead.
They’re out of options, out of time. The last gambit with the Pure Hearts was just enough to break through Super Dimentio’s shield, to make him vulnerable to attack. (It, not him, Mario reminds himself as he bounds forward, executing a messy somersault that delivers him a mere breath from the angry slam of a gargantuan boot that would see him flattened in an instant).
It was a bizarre piece of irony that the loyalty of Bleck’s minions could resurrect the Pure Hearts for one last encore performance, that the same people who attempted multiple times to kill Mario and his friends, the ones who ushered in the end of all worlds without a second thought, the ones who corrupted his little brother -
If they live through this, they’ll get no thanks from his mouth.
But that’s a thought for later, for when the dust had settled and the worlds remained standing. (The worlds would remain standing. Mario won’t let it end any other way).
Mario sprints towards a rectangular pillar, kick stepping his way to the top. He’s certain to plant a foot directly into the grotesque likeness of Dimentio’s smiling mask as he clambers upwards, landing on the narrow platform just in time to hit the decks as another one of Super Dimentio’s missiles flies over his head.
Too close, he thinks, shoving himself upright on trembling legs.
They need to end this now. Peach is waving her parasol, trying to attract the attention of the enormous creature as Bowser booms from behind, ricocheting from platform to platform until he’s near enough to unleash a torrid stream of fire aimed at the back of Super Dimentio’s head.
It’s enough to send the creature staggering, if that’s what the spastic, jutting movements of the sickly elongated neck could be called. But Bowser’s retreat is too sluggish, the Koopa not quick enough to avoid the retaliatory swing of an iron foot to the gut that sends him hurtling across the blank room, Bowser crashing into the far wall with a thunderous roar.
There’s no time to think, the small opening possibly their last hope of survival. Mario acts on years of well-honed instinct as he summons Carrie and Cudge in quick succession, riding the little boxy platform straight into Super Dimentio’s face, rearing back with Cudge to deliver a devastating blow to the bridge of the gigantic monster’s nose.
The resulting shriek is like a thousand sharpened nails being drawn down a chalkboard, a screeching static that melts with the creature in real time, feet dissolving into bubbling, swirling puddles of acid, legs less collapsing than imploding, a house of skeletal cards upended, each joint falling to the ground with a hollow bounce.
A line of tiny, fire breathing molecules eat their way up two-toned smock and white ruffles, leaving a disembodied neck and head to float freely over the empty floor for a long second before the creature’s head comes smashing down to earth with a horrid splat, the force of the collision cracking the monster’s jaw in two, the upper portion of the head now unhinged from its base, the gaping maw open at a wide, unnatural angle.
Mario slides to the edge of a crumbling platform, the echoes of Dimentio’s mask now wiped from the edifice. Gingerly, he hops to the floor, limping through the smoke-shrouded scene to join the Princess and Bowser, who are keeping a safe distance from the now-malformed mockery of his brother’s face.
“Is…is it over?” Peach asks, wheezy. She puts a hand on Mario’s shoulder. He’s not certain if it’s a gesture of comfort or evidence of the toll the battle has taken on her. “Did we -”
“Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha.”
Terrors seizes in Mario’s chest as the decapitated head of his brother laughs, the unhinged jaw popping and creaking with each pulsating syllable. Peach’s grip tightens on Mario’s shoulder, her fingers digging into sore, bruised flesh as she lets out a horrified gasp. Behind him, Mario can feel the heat rising from Bowser’s fiery exhalations, the Koopa grinding his fangs together as he lets loose a dangerous, guttural growl.
“You think this is the end?” Dimentio’s voice bounces off every surface of the high-ceilinged room in a nightmarish symphony of sing-song mockery. “This isn’t finished. The Count is dead. And there is only one means of escape.”
The jaw detaches even further, the upper piece of the head bending back with a tortured squeal of viscera and metal. There’s a low rumbling, the earth beginning to tremble beneath Mario’s feet. All at once, the head of Super Dimentio lets out a rusted, phlegmatic bark that seems to emanate from the invisible depths of a diseased chest, and with it, expels a soft, human-like object in a spray of gooey, greenish fluid.
Mario’s heart stops in his chest. “Luigi,” he whispers, breaking free of Peach’s iron grip to sprint towards the prone form of his brother.
Please be alive. You have to be alive. Oh my God, please. I’ll do anything.
Relief floods past spiky adrenaline as Luigi begins to stir, Mario covering the last distance between the two of them by sliding on his knees across the smooth, marble floors, coming to rest at his brother’s side.
“Luigi?” He’s pawing at his brother’s chest, his legs, his face, Mario doesn’t know what he’s looking for or what he's even doing aside from trying to account for all the little bits and pieces that make up his brother, to hold Luigi together by sheer force of will, as if he were a broken vase just waiting to fall to apart.
“Mario?” His brother’s grey-green eyes focus on his own, the dreamy, half-hypnotized look now melted away in favor of sharpened anxiety. Luigi grabs Mario’s hands in his own, using his brother to leverage himself up to a sitting position.
“Mario, what happened? Where are we, why am I - “
The words die in Luigi’s throat as his gaze lands on his own bloated, distorted image, jaw jackknifed away from the upper part of his skull, blackened moustache now seeping with a gooey phlegm streaked with crimson, the wide, unblinking eyes criss-crossed in impossible directions.
The ground trembles again, this time with enough violence to send a set of pillars toppling into a pile of broken concrete, the linear shapes and angles of Bleck’s castle seeping trails of pustulent white down the dark walls of the chamber.
“Oh my God,” Luigi rasps, shuddering.
“Ciao, Luigi,” the bodiless voice of Dimentio greets.
Luigi squeezes his eyes shut, grabbing at the sides of his head with both hands. “No. No, no, no. This can’t be real. It didn’t happen. None of it happened. You can’t be real!” he screams, bringing down a shower of debris from the cracked ceiling.
“Careful, mon ami,” Dimentio chides with a small chuckle. “This reality seems to be contingent on your mood.”
Mario wraps a protective arm around his little brother. “It’s over, Dimentio. You lost.”
“Is it, though?” The mouth of the monster has stopped moving, frozen in a gaping expression of demented awe. Only the eyes remain animated, dark, swirling irises pinballing off the walls of jaundiced sclera in a chaotic polyrhythm.
“One last surprise! Ah ha ha ha ha. I may be dead but the Chaos Heart is not. A piece of it lives on, and while it does, nothing can stop the end of all worlds!”
A thunderous crackle booms from outside the castle, the room, reality itself teetering to the side as chunks of marble and plaster cascade to the floor, revealing an open wound in the ceiling through which the violet eye of the Void swirls, tempestuous.
Luigi grips his brother’s shoulders, his voice high with panic. “Mario, what are we going to do?”
“We’re going to stop this, Luigi,” Mario grits. “Right here. Right now.” He turns towards the head of Super Dimentio. Black skin is peeling from its cheeks, an ear dangling to the side by a single string of flesh. “Alright you bastard. You’re obviously done for. Where’s the last part of the Chaos Heart?”
“Where else?” Dimentio laughs, the teeth of the monster now crumbling to dust one by one. “Inside its perfect vessel. Just as it was foretold in the Dark Prognosticus.”
Reality phases in and out of a sickening double, a photographic negative overlaid with a collapsing present. Peach and Bowser scramble over to join Mario and his brother, Bowser shielding the brothers from the worst of the falling detritus with his shell, Peach unfurling her parasol, situating it as best she can over both her and Bowser’s forms.
“Whatever it is, Red,” he growls, “we gotta do it fast.”
Mario nods. “What’s the vessel?” he yells over the rising clangor, pushing his brother further into Bowser’s protective embrace.
“You mean who is the vessel,” Dimentio cackles through half a disintegrating face. “It’s quite simple. Destroy the man in green.”
The man in…
Denial tears through Mario’s chest.
“Liar!” he screams, jumping to his feet, oblivious to the hailstorm of matter pelting his body. “You’re a fucking liar!”
There’s no answer to be had, the last physical remnants of Dimentio carried off by the whirling Void, the space the head had occupied now a congealed puddle of tarry emerald.
“Shit!” Mario yells, leaping out of the way of a massive piece of scaffolding. Something grabs at the straps of his overalls, pulling him under one of the last standing arches, bright, fuchsia lightning setting the room afire with a violent crackle.
“Lou, what are you doing?” Mario demands, shoving his brother further into the shadowy alcove. “You could have been killed!”
His brother is silent, gaze fixed on the ashen floor. Outside, the tumult crescendos to a booming, percussive explosion, rattling the very foundations of the castle. Small wisps of violet are beginning to reach down from the heavens, each eddy scraping a few more atoms of reality with it.
Luigi locks eyes with his brother, biting his lip.
“Mario - “
“No.” He knows what his brother is about to say. What he’s going to ask Mario to do. He grabs his brother by the back of the neck, pushing their foreheads together. “Don’t you dare. Don’t you fucking dare.”
“Mario.” His brother cups either side of his face, a movement so gentle Mario thinks he might cry. “I remember it all. Everything. Let me - “ Luigi’s voice cracks. “I need to make it right.”
Something awful crawls up Mario’s throat, a tight, squeezing thing wrapping vice-like fingers round his vocal cords.
“It wasn’t your fault, Lou,” he manages to force out through a tangle of emotion.
Luigi gives a small sob. “I still did it, though.”
A low moan sounds from the sky, a deep, bass drone not voiced by any creature of this existence, as if it were the fundamental tone of all of reality.
Mario slides his face into the crook of his brother’s shoulder. “I just got you back,” he croaks, wet. “I can’t - I can’t - “
“You can’t let the world end because of me,” Luigi says, petting the back of his brother’s head before gently guiding Mario to meet him eye to eye.
“Let me be the hero for once.” Luigi gives a watery smile. “I’ve got this one,” he says, giving Mario’s cheek a fond pat before turning to walk into the maelstrom.
Mario stands frozen as he watches his brother walk away, his thoughts and emotions encased in a sticky amber, his body either unwilling or unable to put a stop to what is happening. As his brother reaches the edge of the threshold between safety and annihilation, he pauses to look over his shoulder.
“I love you, bro,” Luigi says.
All Mario can do is give a simple wave back.
It will have to be enough.
Luigi huffs out a small laugh, waving back in kind. “Ciao, Mario.”
His brother disappears into the rainbow-hued whirlwind, the world coalescing into a single point of darkness.

Vanessa Diego [FNAF AR, Renegade AU]
https://www.deviantart.com/paigelts05/art/Vanessa-Diego-FNAF-AR-Renegade-AU-1039641646
Published: Apr 07 2024
CK animatronic maintenance and R&D Robotics contract with Faz Ent has ended, but their stories are far from over.
Vanessa Diego used to work for Silver Parasol until she left in 2018 after the HW incident stole away the face of one of her friends, an eye from another friend, the sanity of her sister, and more harrowingly enough, partial control over her own body.
She told her friends that it was for thier own safety, and it really was: she didn't want to put them in danger by keeping the thing that had harmed them so much so close by, as she knew that whatever - or whoever - it was that had posessed her in such an unconventional way wanted her friends dead for their 'failure to properly harbour him'.
She started a new job somewhere else, that place being CK animatronic maintenance, but the she went on a camping trip a few days before, but got stranded by a storm when she tried to head back to the car park, so she kept her camp up and intended to just hold out, but she heard someone nearby fall and scream, so she found them - a man about her age, all on his own, and in really bad shape with a twisted ankle and some cuts from the undergrowth - and brought him back to her camp to patch him up. After he woke up and they had a small conversation, she realised that this was Luis: one of the guys who runs the maintenance firm she was due to start working for tomorrow.
She found her and Luis's first meeting to be cute, but wasn't sure why he never brought it up. Maybe he just didn't remember.
Though, she did get along with him very well, and him with her, so she started going out for coffee with him! She doesn't know what he calls it, but she calls it a date!
Though her new job wasn't all fun and games with William sitting in the back of her mind and all. Some days, William would force her to have the day off her normal job at CK animatronic maintenance to do her 'Faz Ent work', as William put it, because she had to go to abandoned Faz Ent HQs in order to have a 'propper meeting' with William on the man's own turf, and on one of these excursions where Luis had tagged along, William had tried to kill him, but with quick thinking, she did what she had to do to keep Luis alive: by 'attacking' him herself, only causing enough superficial wounds with two hits of a bat to trick William into thinking that she actually meant it, when in reality, it was the only way she could have kept Luis alive.
Later down the line, whilst she was working on some chip sorting work as a part of the contract that Faz Ent had made with CK animatronic maintenance, a virus got into the computer systems, and it wasn't William: he was already where he needed to be. It was Adelaide. With both Aftons in the systems, things started to go horribly wrong, and after getting a nasty shock from the servers when she was helping Luis clean them up, more things statred going wrong: Faz Ent seemed to be trying to kill them.
The Adelaide incident was the culmination of everything that had gone wrong so far. Ness just counted herself lucky that she hadn't been there for it.
Several days after that incident, William had made Ness ill in order to strand her at home and used her weakened state to effectively hold her hostage in her own apartment, only letting Ness leave the apartment to pick up deliveries from CK animatronic maintenance's office. He did this so she could use the V_A account to extract Adelaide, who had gone into hiding in the systems due to R&D robotics catching onto her next plan too quickly and leave the pure computer virus behind. Though going to the office to pick up deliveries was how Ness was saved: William went to pick up a delivery, and Anna and Raha were able to jump her, scaring William for long enough for Ness to take back over.
It was confirmed once again: she was posessed by William. Everyone knew that William Afton had been manipulating her somehow, and even though they had confirmed that he was possessing her several times, this just confirmed their worst suspicions: he had never left her head and knew everything.
Every time they had thought that Ness was safe to speak or even think, William had always been there. Leeching off of her body and mind. Playing along.
Ness then moved in with Luis for three reasons. 1: she could no longer bear her apartment. 2: safety in numbers and not wanting to live alone. 3: she loved him.
Somehow, aside from William occasionally taking over and the occasional mandatory visit to an old Faz Ent HQ, their lives were somewhat normal; Ness had been able to avoid killing anyone so far, and she seemed to have William under control. Ness and Luis had even gotten engaged. Everything seemed OK.
Until the late autumn of 2021. The worst month and a half of their lives.
It started when William finally took over Ness and spirited her away to the megaplex across the other side of the country: she had been kidnapped by a ghost. Then, he forced her to kill. But she always did everything she could to stall: she has plenty of wounds from attacking herself to buy William's victims more time. A month after she was initially kidnapped, Luis had finally been able to track her down: Faz Ent had many HQs, and they could be rotating her through any number of them to make it harder for the police to find her, but it was pretty clear to see where they had been holding her: she'd been at the megaplex the whole time. The police (mostly just Mike, Danielle, and Carl with the weight of the world on thier shoulders) couldn't get a warrant as there was not enough evidence even though they knew, and her sister was in a risky situation of mutual blackmail against Bill Blake, but despite the flow of information being slow and risky, Luis had found her using what little he had to go off of. Sylvia had also fed Luis what she knew about what needed to be done to save Ness.
And on the night Luis played the second arcade and was primed to play the third, William almost made her kill Luis. Twice.
She and Luis had been fortunate enough for Luis to survive both times, but it still terrified her how close to the wire it had been for her to wretch back enough control to give Luis a shot at defeating her in the east arcade early in the night, and how much begging it took for William to allow her to heal him after PQ3 didn't let him in.
Fortunately, less than a week later, a child named Gregory found Luis's notes on the arcades, and that combined with Sylvia beating the other arcades that had kept PQ3 locked, Sylvia and Gregory wound up in a mutually oblivious tango that ended with Gregory able to play PQ3, unaware that Sylvia was nearby and that it was her presence that let him in whilst Sylvia was terrified that the kid would take the coward's path and set the staffbots on her sister. But Gregory chose to save her and succeeded.
Gregory and Ness had mutual knowledge of eachother beforehand: Ness knew of the Clone 46 experiments, and Gregory knew of the original Patient 46. So it was no surprise that Ness had adopted this orphan who had been forced to live through her trauma.
A week later, Mike, Danielle, and Carl had managed to secure enough evidence to get the warrant they needed to raid the megaplex: a raid they'd been planning since Ness went missing. Whilst it went rather well on the evidence front, Ness, Sylvia, Gregory, Cassie, and Mike faced one life threatening situation after another. Though they seemed to be the ONLY group with such bad luck. Come six AM, those who wanted to face off against William stayed to descend into the deepest heart of the megaplex whilst everyone else evacuated. Of course Ness was amongst those who stayed.
The deepest heart of the megaplex was underneath Roxy Raceway. That is where Adelaide kidnapped Luis, used her control technology to turn him into a killing machine, and then sent him to attack them. Ness managed to take the feral assassin down and remove the control module, but she felt herself getting posessed, and that's when they met Gaz's deceased father who helped Ness thwart William's attempts. Then once the C location guards plus Gaz dispatched Daniel Discord, their former manager from their Freddy's days, Ness was finally able to confront William in a battle that took more of a psychic form, using the ghosts within to force the remnant William was using to rebuild his body to bend to the will of the people and force William to burn himself alive. Whilst Adelaide extracted William before it got too risky, the Burntrap body was now no longer viable, setting back William's plans.
After that, Ness thought it was over, but Faz Ent wouldn't let Ness go that easy. They sent Cheryl M., Todd C., and Charles Ramirez to kidnap her, and unfortunately, they succeeded and brought her back to the megaplex. Those three seemed to be trying to figure something out, and that something involved them cutting her skin open from sternum to stomach, but she was able to use the blood as a tripping hazard to slip away and hide in west Arcade where she found Freddy's head next to an arcade machine that was playing a short clip of Cheryl's ambush on Sylvia and Gregory.
Sylvia and Gregory had mobilised to save her, but also wound up getting ambushed and kidnapped by Cheryl, and it's a clip from that ambush that Ness had saw on the screens, but it didn't set the duo back and they quickly found a Ness who wasn't sure if she was alive or dead. When they were about to escape, Cheryl, Todd, and Charles Ramirez ambushed them and the trio wound up kidnapped and separated. Ness wound up stuck with Todd in the Fazerblast control room, but was quickly able to knock Todd out before he could continue with whatever faux-medical analysis he was trying to perform on her. She then met up with Sylvia, who seemed to have one of Adelaide's control modules on her chest courtesy of Charles Ramirez, but she also seemed to not be swayed by it. The sisters then saved Gregory, who had been forced into running a deduction by Cheryl. Gregory said something about Cassie dying trying to save him, so when the trio were about to escape for real, Sylvia stayed behind after detonating the remote demolition explosives she had been leaving about the megaplex (she'd gotten a gig at Stan's budget demolitions, the company the courts hired to demolish the megaplex, so Sylvia was only doing her job here), whilst Ness and Gregory used Sylvia's car to get to the hospital.
The next time Ness saw Sylvia was about 40 hours later, and Sylvia was with an unconscious but alive Cassie.
During Ness's hospital stay (she needed so much treatment not just for the wounds inflicted by the exec trio, but those she had sustained whilst under William's control too), William attempted to possess her, but to Ness's surprise, he was contained and suppressed: the ghost of her own dad, who had gone missing when she was very young, was possessing her, and had been since the end of the Raid.
Once everyone was finally able to go home, the nightmare wasn't entirely over. Ness beat herself up over it all until the ghosts of the victims William had killed whilst using her as a vessel told her in no uncertain terms that they knew that she was posessed and had done everything she could have and more to try and prevent their deaths; they'd all seen her stab herself to buy them more time to run, but in the end, the animatronics got most of them.
She was fortunately able to internalise this, and it helped her make one of the most important decisions of her life: when presented with the possibility of a literal human prison being used to contain William Afton - he'd escaped from Scraptrap, his own undead body, before so trapping a robotic body of his in a regular prison would achieve worse than nothing - Ness jumped at the chance to permanently keep William contained and out of the hands of Faz Ent. Nobody was exactly surprised.
When the day came, Ness, Sylvia, Cassey, the samurai ghost known as OMC, and Cassie all worked together to lure William into a VR game that Faz Ent used to train it's megaplex staff and trap him in a fourth Princess Quest game that Sylvia, Cassey, and Ness had put into the game. Cassie was able to lure William to where Ness was waiting, where she essentially consumed him, the Vanny avatar crushing him in her hands, Ness absorbing his ghost and trapping it deep within.
Thanks to a pair of control bracers (bracers designed for those posessed by violent ghosts to be able to keep the ghost from taking over thier bodies) and the constant effort of herself and her dad's ghost, Ness is able to live normally amongst the public and is happy with her role as the Warden.
She is able to live with Luis, and now Gregory too, and live the normal life she'd always hoped for.

The hate for Logan is so funny because he was Rory’s best boyfriend. So, what’s the reason for the hate?
Anon, he wasn't even the best BOY she ever knew. Even Paul for how much he was an AYITL punchline was better for her, and even coming into season five I shipped Rory with Tristan and he was a far better man for her than Logan ever was because although he came in hot and kind of drove Rory nuts, he never got to the point of causing her physical and emotional harm (unless you count the car in the dining hall possibly coming down but she wasn't there). His teasing was relatively harmless and if the worst he did was complicate her friendship with Paris for a bit then it's definitely a no harm/no foul situation.
From DAY ONE though, Logan introducd himself by turning a sober wake for her friend into a fucking kegger that disrespected Paris, who was grieving for losing someone, and then Rory gets to the paper and immediately has to deal with sexual harassment from him through the internal IM system and Doyle turned a blind eye to it because 'boys will be boys', wedged his way into a party her grandparents were holding and instead of departing, they pissed off Dean enough for him to break up with Rory and then plied her with alcohol and brought her home and we're fucking lucky this was The WB and not MTV because in MTV's hands there WOULD have been sexual assault happening. Rory was not in her right mind that evening.
Then we get to the LDB weekend, Logan disrespecting her role as a journalist, and then forcing her into a situation in jumping off a platform with a parasol that could have easily killed her (and which I've set a fic around the danger). From then on he was possessive, refused to leave her alone, and despite whatever that crap about FWB occurred, he never wanted to be just a friend benefitting from her and was possessive from then on. I can just recite three seasons of canon here, but I'm just going to turn this into pinpoints to keep it simple; •No actual focus ever on his studies •He took zero responsibility for anything involving the yacht and left Rory in the lurch with a felony record and no fucking help at all on his end, nor did he EVER confront his father about how Rory was treated in her internship performance review with an absentee owner that should have been done by her direct editor. •Treatment of Paris. Every single day he knew her. Fuck him to hell and back for what he did to her when she had her editorship nervous breakdown and just taking credit for saving the paper when instead he convinced Rory to let her rot and take credit for printing the paper along with not getting an adult in the room to make sure Paris was okay. I know my bias for her is so strong it's on my license plate, but a woman in duress and already flailing should be getting mental health support rather than being pushed out by a loser who had done literally not a thing since he had his daddy get him on the paper. •No he's not Rory's Christopher. At least that bum realized he had to get a job. Logan was just a daddy's boy who never worked hard for anything he ever did. •Costa Rica. He fucking used his injuries and brush with death to get Rory's sympathy. Loser behavior. •Without his sister he'd be a regular at Club Fed and would've ended up in a Brokedown Palace situation or caned in Singapore. Honor not only has the patience of a saint with her shitty brother, but is on par with Joan of Arc in tolerating him. •His treatment of Shira as an absentee drunk mom is the most obvious example of an unreliable narrator we've ever seen. All we see is him denigrating her constantly along with Mitchum, and then Emily reducing what seems to be a solid story of a small-town girl in college somehow landing a great guy instead trashed down to 'sl•tty cocktail waitress got knocked up and now they're all stuck with each other'. Emily was in the wrong, Logan was in the wrong and Mitchum was in the wrong, and Shira had a story all her own that was pushed aside to uplift him. •There's no doubt that his story was inspired in every way by Mark Zuckerberg as he moved from Harvard to being a tech billionaire, with his pointless business ventures and such. Considering where that guy is in 2024 and now being an absolute chud for 45? Please don't tell me he had a sudden ephiphany and became very far left. His dad was a conservative and likely was buddy-buddy with Bush and I don't doubt in GG canon that Logan wasn't being a hornball about the Bush sisters. And I have zero doubt that Logan would be complete friends with a certain social media owner/failed comic/billionaire, and would probably be in a certain club in Broward County, Florida being an absolute kiss-ass with him. •The Dynastic Plan didn't even have to be a thing if Logan had just followed everything or treated Rory properly. •And treating Odette like utter shit didn't help. •He was a THIRTY-FIVE year old man treating the love of his life like she was a fucking side-piece to be ashamed of and still pulling LDB shit. That isn't just arrested development, but prison development with how much of a little boy he still thinks he is to this day. I could go on, but yeah, I don't like Logan and he was a horrible boyfriend to Rory. And you're talking to someone who ships Gellmore and only became more so through his entire existence.
I hope this answers your question, and you have a great day.
#anti-logan huntzberger#gilmore girls#ask box#rant#i would like to write more but i already have so much going on i'm keeping these thoughts short

Lily liveblogs: Thunderbolt Fantasy 4x08
THE LAND IS CLOAKED IN DEEPEST BLUE.
Shang descends into The Abyss(TM) and going, "what the hell am I doing with my life, why is it always something"
another meeting of the Demon Court with everybody awkwardly noticing their numbers are dwindling.
Azi proposes that instead of waiting for someone else to summon a demon god, they do it themselves and make it humanity's problem.
just then Xing Hai's message talisman shows up with info on the Divine Swarm and chaos ensues
after everyone else leaves, the Demon King's like, sooooo, what makes you think you can win the War of Fading Dusk 2: The Demons Strike Back, and Azi says, "well, I know a guy...."
smash cut to that guy (Locust) learning that his daughter is missing. A lot of angry hairflips ensue.
Locust: "why.... can I not get... these stupid bangs... OUT OF MY FACE??!!!"
just then "Piaomiao" reports in that Chao Feng is in the demon realm, and Locust is all, THAT GOSHDARN KID AND HER STUPID OBSESSION WITH THAT STUPID IDOL SINGER, GAHHH.
In the Shadow Realm, Wasp is attacked by Parasol Lady and we get the epic butch vs. femme showdown I wanted.
the parasol makes sparkling noises by the way!!!
Wasp's arm gets broken and she panics because this is the first time she's ever encountered a situation her strength can't get her out of
but spider saves her!! and gives her a pep talk saying, "look, it sucks, but you gotta stay alive, I gave up being a thief when our boss saw through my tricks" and it's heartwarming character development for everyone
they then team up to beat Parasol Lady which involves breaking all of Spider's bones, ouch.
RIP Parasol Lady, you had a killer fashion sense, and I lament your undeveloped potential, but at least you went out with style
the two of them, limping and wounded, are still trapped in the shadow realm, but at least they have each other! awww.
[Note: having completed their narrative arcs and reconciled their philosophical differences, I don't hold out much hope for their continued survival, but we'll see!!]
I've seen people read this scene as shippy, and I personally don't, but whatever, I guess
the mech is charging in an energy shield (!!!) and Chao Feng wanders off and gets a letter from Lin luring her to a secondary location with promises of being reunited with Lang, but instead she gets trapped, hahaha.
Tian Ming and Mech Grandpa go look for her, only to get attacked by demons again.... but shang turns up just in time!
DRAMATIC POEM ENTRANCE DRAMATIC POEM ENTRANCE YEAAAAHHHH
this time, the mech turns into an amp and Tian Ming hooks up her guzheng and sings "THE LAND IS CLOAKED IN DEEPEST BLUE" while Shang fights and it's FUCKING AWESOME
Lin shows up briefly, just to tease Shang, and then vanishes, lolololol
after it's over, Tian Ming grabs Shang's shoulder and is like, you're not getting away from me again!!!! which is good because these two desperately need to talk
Ansarto is gloating over Lang's cocoon and the demon cop overhears and takes it all out of context and fucking murders him without any warning.
RIP Ant-boy, you had the sickest possible design and I will miss your skittering little legs and scheming
Ling Ya starts screaming for Lang to wake up as the cop prepares to murder him in the cocoon, but I saw the preview and he totally wakes up in the next episode, even if that's one hell of a cliffhanger to end on
speaking of cliffhangers, the preview also has Dan Fei FaceTiming Bo Yang Hou and the mech climbing out of the abyss, so hahaha, yeah
it sucks that the two coolest new demon characters got killed off so quickly in this episode, DAMN YOU TRUNCATED STORY AND RUSHED PACING
if Tian Ming's song isn't on the OST, I'll be so mad
I'm also happy we got a character poem, even if it's a repeat, I missed them!!! they are so epic!
asldgasdlkgjslfakjglsfkjglksfjglkfjglfkg frothing screaming crying even when it hurts me with all the lost potential, this show is still so good y'all

Made this one earlier in the month too
wanted to push myself so I made some chomper kills. I like to think my Peach has a few chompers she lets free on escaped victims. Poor snail just wanted to warn people about what their Princess was doing :((
THE LEAVES LOOK TERRIBLE IM WELL AWARE I JUST DIDNT WANT ANYMORE WHITE SPACE T-T
I like to think this happened months after the snail's escape. It's trying to just move on because of the disbelief the public has when trying to expose the Princess. You can only imagine their surprise when their stroll through the Wooded kingdom is ended by Peach's appearance. What's more shocking were the three chompers that awaited their owner's command in silence. The only noise made from them was the clinking of their chains in Peach's hand. Your options are to tell her what you know, and live to see another day and if you don't.. Then maybe she could feel generous and let you go free anyway! It's a bold faced lie, any outcome ends in your doom but this snail didn't know that. Anxiously taking the royal's word of sparing their life, she even lets them slither away for a while before she lets the chains go. Monsters zipping towards their pray at her command.
"Eat up."
// Ello govena!!!! I am trying to catch up guys I've been brainstorming and drawing this since early morning so I'm trying guys I swear!! Idk what I'll do for peach after this but I'll get there! Her outfit is different because I did it based on her outfit in Mario Sunshine! She's so pretty and she's holding her parasol she's giving for an international murderer. Anywho enough ranting hopefully I'll post again for day three of peach month /spoilers: no/ Other than that I'm signing off for now girlies!!! Byee
