a little sunflawyer lore drop because its been too long since i did one!!
just as a way for me to show abby's personality better ☀️ it's about Abby and her patients.
its quite long though !!! (⊙_◎) but its sweet :3
abby is a psychologist who works at a clinic !!! her patients range from kids to adults :D so far the one that i would love to mention is Clara, a 9 year old girl who suffers from abvuse trauma. for clara's case, abby helps her to heal while jimmy helps bring justice for her by capturing the perpetrator.
recently i thought of a new patient!! this one is an elderly man named Sam who recently lost his wife. he goes to abby to help him cope with his grief. he tells abby everything about his marriage — the memories, the dreams, the moments... and sam's stories make abby think of jimmy. the same romance that sparkles between the two of them...
now, sam's wife's passing got her thinking about herself too. abby has a low blood pressure, which causes her to pass out quite often, and it always worries jimmy. she's afraid if something happens to her one day, jimmy will struggle to cope with it. and it terrifies her and haunts her mind for days until one day she can't take it anymore.
so one day, after she comes home from another session with sam, abby sits beside jimmy and asks him to make her cry. jimmy was taken aback of course — he never wanted to see abby cry, let alone being the one who caused it. but abby trusts him and says crying is a good way to cope with sadness to relief all of your bottled-up emotions. at work, she has to be tough for her patients, but today, she needs to ve vulnerable.
so, jimmy did. — he tells her about the day they met, about how he was instantly captivated by her the moment his eyes met hers. he tells her about their wedding day, how he was so nervous that he was the loudest to cry during their vows. he tells her the day tommy was born, the day tommy said 'mama', and the day when he first entered daycare. he tells her their memories together.
and she cried. of course not from sadness, but from happiness. they've been through a lot together. there were times when she doubted herself, and there were times when she was the happiest woman in the world. and she went through them with jimmy by her side.
he then pulls her into his arms and whispers, "its okay to cry, abby. i know you want to be tough for others, but with me, youre not just Dr. Abigail McGill, you're Abby. You're my wife, my best friend, the reason why I wake up with a smile everyday."
and he kisses her forehead, lingering there.
"you're a human, abby. a human with feelings. I'm here for you, to share your burdens with. i love you, no matter how you are feeling today, tomorrow, and the next day.
you're my heart."

I think people overestimate how feminist team black is. If someone brings up how Baela should be the heir to Driftmark, it's always "she would've been Queen if not for the Greens!", ignoring that 1, she would be Queen consort, not a Queen in her own right, and 2 she has a legitimate claim in her own right to Driftmark. Team Black's goal is to crown Rhaenyra, but Rhaenyra becoming Queen isn't a win for feminism because it does nothing to dismantle the rest of the patriarchal system that exists in Westeros. From what we've gotten so far, it reads that Rhaenyra wants to be the exception and not the rule. Rhaenyra has made a lot of bad political decisions, which means she can't acknowledge Baela's claim because it would weaken her own claim (blatantly admitting her eldest sons are illegitimate would not end well for her to say the least). So she betrothes Jace and Luke to Baela and Rhaena to kind of atone for that, like as a consolation prize Baela will be Queen and Rhaena will be lady of Driftmark, neither of them would hold either title in their own right. It's good matches because the kids like each other and will treat each other well, but it's not a feminist win or a feministic liberation. It's usurpation, usurpation that takes place because Rhaenyra has to do damage control after having illegitimate children and after a serious of bad political decisions (both hers and her fathers, Viserys is the arbiter of this entire mess). To me, Rhaenyra is very reminiscent of Mary Queen of Scots, I can see a lot of elements drawn from Mary's history in Rhaenyra's story and character, down to their sons eventually taking the crown they failed to claim/keep.

"Can I?"
Something twists in Toey's chest and it hurts. For all of his history of running away from his own feelings, P'Q, now that they are together, now that he is Toey's, is nothing but direct. He's gentle - he always has been - leading Toey softly forward in their relationship, asking if Toey is comfortable at every step. He looks at Toey so softly, his gaze lit by starlight.
Why does this hurt?
Maybe it's all too fast for Toey. He feels a little guilty for considering it, especially after his 2-year lovesickness being the cause of the entire scheme to get them together. Maybe it's just like when they kissed in the haunted house - Toey starts to panic when he isn't sure about what's going to happen next. But P'Q is being direct. The secluded guest room, the dim lights - it's extremely clear what he's talking about.
It's been too long. They've been standing in silence. What did Toey do then? Close his eyes? Lean in to kiss P'Q? Does that mean yes? Does he really want to say yes?
"we don't have to if you're not ready. Come on, toey, let's go to sleep"
The twisting feeling is still there, but when his boyfriend takes his hand, Toey doesn't hesitate to wrap his arms around him. P'Q smells like paint thinner and cigarettes. Toey molds himself around his body, pulling himself in so tightly until his heart starts to steady again. P'Q's long fingers card through Toey's hair, and before he knows it, he's fast asleep.
