Watching the First Wives Club is wild when you know Stockard Channing as Abbey Bartlet and nothing else because she comes on screen in the beginning and it's like "oh, Abbey's here, I've never seen her in another thing before, this'll be fun," and then two minutes later, wham!
And then you keep watching and this disaster of a nineties movie ends with a cameo by Ivana Trump and making fun of Donald.
Truly a riotous trip.

Can't wait for Stede to casually mention Calico Jack around Izzy and for Izzy to be like 'ugh, that bitch'. Nothing bonds bitches together like mutually hating on another ex.
Izzy being like 'Did he piss on your boots?'
"YES, what is that about?"
'Who the fuck even knows. What a prick.'
"Really stupid facial hair"
'Absolutely shocking.'

The first movie I saw Maggie Smith in was when I was a kid and I watched Hook for the first time, where she played an old Wendy Darling. The second movie I saw her in was The First Wives Club as Gunilla Garson Goldberg. The third movie was Sister Act I as Reverend Mother. There are a dozen more movies and plays she was in. Obviously as Professor Minerva McGonagall. Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham. Thetis in the first Clash of the Titan's. Mrs Medlock in The Secret Garden. She even appeared in Agatha Christie's Poirot: Death on the Nile. Dame Maggie Smith was an incredible actress who stole the scenes she was in. The world is a little emptier without her in it. Rest in peace
