So, in the process of trying to get my partner into one of my childhood favorites, Winx Club, the brain gremlins took hold of me and I am now in the process of creating a rewrite. Not the entirety of canon, but definitely the first three seasons and throwing in some extra stuff from other seasons that I really enjoyed as well as some of my own personal flair.

That being said, a rewrite obviously has to come with redesigns and I have literally just finished up everyone's first transformation

Layla, or Aisha, is up first! I did really enjoy her original design (honestly, they're all wonderful) but it just wasn't going to work for my AU. Considering she's from a planet that is dominated by water, as well as being related to actual mermaids, I absolutely had to add in more mermaid traits. So we have wings that look and act similar to dorsal fins in the water which makes her an exceptionally fast swimmer, almost on par with her cousins. Then, of course, I had to include shells in there. The shells that function as her heels are angel wing shells and a horn snail shell.

Musa, oh Musa. Her original was lovely but it just didn't have enough punk inspiration. Luckily I was more than happy to provide a little in the form of shorts and a half skirt on top of wonderful boots with buckles. I did keep the sheer centerpiece though because I really wanted to pay some respect to the original. Also, and this is just my personal opinion, space buns are superior. My shining glory of this design has to be the wings, though. The bass clefs are wonderful but to top it all off I had to add the CD shine. It was a necessity. Also, if you haven't noticed the fact that her arm accessories mirror Layla/Aisha's, now is the time to notice. SoundWave will be a thing in this AU.

Flora needed more green! She deserves a little green considering she's a nature fairy and how else would I incorporate it other than vines? Especially considering she uses vine attacks all the time! Also that rose inspired skirt was a pain to do but so worth it. If anyone deserves a rose skirt, it's Flora.

While I do love Tecna, her original always felt like it was missing something so, after some scrolling through sci-fi stuff, I added the cropped jacket to it and more green for her as well. The ear piece actually extends into a helmet with a retractable visor, I'll probably post another image with it on full display another time.

Another thing to add is that there is a criminal shortage of Flora x Tecna content to the point that I haven't even seen a fun little ship name for them. So, I'll just be using BioTech.

Getting right into Stella's redesign, starting with the wings! I did like her original wings but with her being the fairy of the sun I kind of just spread them out similar to the way rays of light look. As for her outfit, I really wanted to add onto the ethereal kind of look with gorgeous drapery similar to what you see in depictions of goddesses but with a modern twist! Hence the underbust and other additions.

Bloom but much more draconian. As she deserved considering she's the keeper of the dragon fire. Dragon wings. Dragon scales. Need I say more? Yes, actually. Her boots are more armor like, which was fun but not the best part. The silver chains, the necklace, the gemstones. They're made to be a mirror to Stella's because SolarFlare is absolutely iconic. They deserve each other so much and it is my mission to highlight this fact.

I have so much planned for this AU. So many ideas that I've already noted down and places I want to go with this, I can't wait to get started.

And I literally just realized that this AU needs an actual name, so I'm going to go with Psyche. The reasons why will become clear later. 💜

Paring: modern Aegon x Reader & Aemond x Reader  

Rating/Warning: Explicit, sexual themes, 18+. Pay heed to the warnings for each chapter, it gets messy. 

So, when did you start writing? I started writing probably when I was about 9 or 10 years old. I did creative writing throughout my teens but never delved into fanfiction until now!

What was your first fan fiction story? My first fanfiction was for HOTD. I started writing my Aemond x OC story A Song of Flames & Fury and that was the first writing I ever published on here!

Where did the plot for Down in Flames come from? I always loved the idea of a band story, and back in 2018 I was reading A LOT of fanfiction for Bohemian Rhapsody because Roger Tyler had me in a chokehold. So some of the inspiration definitely came from that, but mostly I was just curious exploring the Dance of Dragons in a modern setting.

I feel like bands are stuffed full of drama and just the perfect setting for this story. I definitely knew I wanted the Reader and Aemond together, and I knew the conflict would be around Jace and Luke leaving to support Rhaenyra's side. I knew there would be sneaking around and stuff but other than that I sort of went with the flow, figured out the characters. There were a couple things I had in mind originally that didn't end up working out/making it in.

Do you want to share any of the "cut scenes" or ideas that did not make it in DIF? So originally I planned that Jace would actually cheat on Baela, following the "Sara Snow" plotline. In part 1 that's who offers to buy him a drink at the bar. But I liked them too much together and wanted Jace to be a complete good guy to root for.

Explain your interpretation of Aemond. What drives him? Why is he the way he is in DIF? Aemond is a lot like our show canon Aemond in DIF. I see him a lot as a duty driven guy, trying to keep the band together, supporting Aegon even though he's this vain, self centered front man in the band. I think what drives DIF Aemond is this sense of responsibility, that he can't let his family down no matter what, even if it makes him unhappy.

You could sense she wanted the best for Aegon. ♥ She definitely did. And she realizes in the end that its not about her, that its about him, and we love that growth!

Was there anything in specific that inspired your Reader portrayal? I think I definitely was a little self indulgent, as I feel always happens as an author. I really wanted the Reader to be this person who wanted to save Aegon, she really wants to help him get better and that's just not how it works out. So definitely some savior complex stuff, but I also wanted to balance it with her being really human, if that makes sense? Like she wants to leave him, she knows she deserves better but she loves him at the same time!

Do you feel your Reader compliments Aemond well? I think in the beginning of their relationship her fire really matches his, and as they start their relationship, I think she really softens Aemond's edges. I think she really drives Aemond crazy because she does what she wants and it’s all the choices Aemond would never want her to make, like dating Aegon!

Do you think you'll return to this HotD AU? Maybe a sequel? I will definitely return! I have some drabbles/one-shots planned because I know people are curious about this group. I just really wanted to wrap the main story before burnout occurred and while it was so clear-cut.

What is next for our author? Right now I'm working on a couple things! I have a modern!Aegon story Thin Ice, I have to finish my Aemond x OC, I still have An Ego Thing ongoing and now a new Daemon x Rhaenyra x Reader The Au Pair!

Do you have a personal favorite story you'd like to share? (Yours or other?) My personal favorite story I've written I think is Dragon's Bane (it’s still unfinished). As for someone else’s, I'd have to say Burning Jasmine by @scalyfreaks​. It’s an Aegon x OC and its so incredible!

Choosing what to work on?

Leaving this here before I go back to burning with my deadlines. Honestly I just need the fandom's validation, people here are so kind and talented, I want to spend quality time on something that will make people happy. A birthday gift - seeing what people are interested to read from me.

So. I have two WIPs. And two ideas.

WIP one: nearly finished (although I'm unhappy with it) steamy piece on Karlach x Soap exploring just how much Johnny loves Karlach's non-human features. Spoiler: a lot. One shot.

WIP two: a little (at least for now it's little) Karlach x Soap hurt/comfort inspired by beautiful landscapes and my love for the northern seas. Johnny needs a hug and he gets one and more. Karlach thinks she needs strength and realizes she already has it. One shot.

IDEA one: Smut as a logical continuation of this post. Solar eclipse is nice, bonnie, do you mind Soap seeing it a thousand and fourty-two times more while you ride him with his dogtags bouncing over the engine in your chest? One shot.

IDEA two: modern!biker!Karlach x Ghoap. Simon and Johnny finally move in together and find a nice apartment in a good low-key area, only for them to be deployed and come back in several months to the area's reputation sinking rapidly due to a certain crowd their new neighbour and their bike bring around. But come on, guys, it's not that bad; you know what they say: one gunshot into the air a month keeps the rent low. Multiple parts.

Fair warning, I do not read much Fanfic anymore as I spend most of my time writing it, so some of these fics are probably going to feel really scattered. With that said, let’s get into it.

LIGHTCANNON (Lux/Jinx)

Non-Linear Growth by @booking-and-blogging (Elfen1012 on Ao3)

A lot of people reading my work have said that Flashbangs is the Lightcannon bible, but if that’s true then NLG by Elfen1012 is the Lightcannon New Testament. It hits the ground running from the perspective of a Jinx that is trying to piece herself back together after the end of Arcane and it is something to behold. I cannot recommend this enough.

Luxurious Anarchy by @cannibalelf (Cannibal_Elf on Ao3)

A kind of Soulmate-lite longform fic in which Lux is drawn across the span of Valoran to find her one-and-only: Jinx, mad and still struggling with the events of Arcane. This is just a really fantastic romp through the world of Piltover and Zaun, thoroughly enjoyable on every level. The prose are punchy, the narrative is clean, and I really enjoyed my time with it.

Friction Coefficient by @blood-lich-crow ( Blood_Lich_Maeve on Ao3)

I would argue this is probably the best Modern!AU Lightcannon on Ao3 right now, at least in my very subjective opinion. It gracefully deals with a lot of delicate topics like internalized (and external) homophobia and transphobia, trans issues, and addiction. This is one of the messiest romances I’ve ever read and I am here for it. 

PISTOLWHIP (Caitlyn/Jinx)

the lover of my impossible soul by Goldfyshie927 on Ao3

This Modern!AU features Caitlyn as a professional escort who is drawn into a relationship with the wealthy and chaotic Jinx in order to keep her father happy and convince him she had mellowed out somewhat. The profound sense of loneliness you get from both characters throughout the story, and the way they inelegantly mesh together is really profound, and I look forward to seeing more of this story come out. Big recommendation for very unusual ship.

SYLVAINA (Sylvanas/Jaina)

Vintage by (jointly) @redisaid and @uninspired--poet

How do I put this. To date, I’ve read the entirety of Vintage six times. Vintage isn’t just a fanfiction I think is good. Vintage is one of the fanfictions I go back reread every now and again to remind myself what willful romance is supposed to look like. In this Modern!AU where Jaina is a college student and scion of a wealthy family, while Sylvanas is the owner of a small, failing vintage goods shop in New York. It’s a story about falling in love and then choosing to stay that way despite the many things that crop up. It’s about coming up against the difficulties in relationships and choosing love, with all its messy difficulties, over the path of least resistance. Read this, I am begging you.

Fearless by @redisaid

This might be the best example of modern magic I’ve ever read. It’s as subtle as it is overt, and as entrenched a part of the world as it is wholly separate from it. Jaina, a ghost-eating witch, finds a house haunted by a powerful banshee, and fully intends to consume her for power. Over the course of the story, that changes, and everything from the side characters, to the small moments, to the strong finish has stuck with me to the point that it inspires aspects of my own writing.

Within The Drift by @uninspired--poet

It’s hard to do a good crossover, even when the crossover’s make a kind of thematic sense. Writing a good crossover when the two subjects have jack shit in common is testament to a great author’s skill. Within The Drift is a fantastically put together sci-fi/fantasy action-romance crossing over Pacific Rim with World of Warcraft, featuring Sylvanas and Jaina as contentiously drift compatible pilots. I’ve read this story back to front several times, and it never gets old.

KAZULA (Azula/Katara)

Measure Each Step to Infinity by paxbanana

Set in Post-Canon ATLA, Measure is fantastic enemies-to-lovers-to-wives story full of angst, intrigue, action, and redemption. It has one of my favorite depictions of Azula and, surprisingly, Aang, which the story humanizes wonderfully. Azula is as morally gray as ever, and her struggle to leave behind the horrors of war and emotional abuse inflicted on her by her father to be better, and Katara’s growing dedication and devotion to her over the course of the story is gripping.

KORVIRA (Korra/Kuvira)

Phenomenal Modern!AU Kuvira fic and I will shamelessly plug this because I love a good bartender character. Kuvira and Korra instantly charm in the first chapter, and their friendship blossoms into a lot more. This is a story that’s impossible to summarize without spoilers, but it is an absolute rollercoaster of emotions, drama, angst, and disaster gays from start to finish and you’d be doing yourself a favor by reading it.

PILTOVER’S FINEST (Caitlyn/Vi)

Run At The Cup. by @thehomelybadger (TheHomelyBadger on Ao3)

I’ve reviewed this story before on this very blog so I really feel it’s necessary to have it here. I don’t read a lot of CaitVi but this one absolutely knocks it out of the park. Or rather, into the goal. Run At The Cup is a Hockey!AU, it’s a fantastic underdog story of a brand-new NHL team, the Zaun Sumprats, and it’s mix of sports jargon, action-packed hockey games, and interpersonal and political drama make for an absolutely gripping story.

A little blog update!

It's been over two months of me consistently posting chapters for my little Western slow burn romance adventure story INNOCENCE LOST, something I wrote up over the course of two weeks, very excessively as I do things, and now I am close to the point where the chapters become less and less, and I have to be honest:

Writing a plot heavy story in the way I write stuff (without much outline or concept or planning, really) isn't always the easiest thing to do. Especially with my cluttered mind. BUT DON'T WORRY! I will not abandon this story, Ben and Nebbia are still very present in my head. And there are still two very long chapters waiting to be shared, and I have started writing more, it just takes me a little more time now, BECAUSE my focus has shifted a little.

The slow burn got to me (ironic because at this point in the story of Ben and Nebbia things are finally developing more into the smut tag) - and my dirty little mind needed another outlet.

And that's how INFATUATED came to be.

Somewhat of a modern AU of INNOCENCE LOST, it picks up on some themes and quotes and circumstances (age gap, size difference, etc.), but is very, very different, very dark and twisted, and very smut heavy - I really needed to get out all the filth I couldn't put into my somewhat innocent love story.

And as I do, I wrote up the first ten chapters in one go, letting it all out, and I may have mentioned I wanted to finish it before I post anything, but to be honest here, I need the feedback, it's a lonely thing to just write and then vomit release it all at once.

I put out a little teaser yesterday, disguised as another Smut Drabble, and tonight (probably 9pm CEST) I will publish the first chapter of INFATUATED on this blog. I am a little nervous, to be honest, because that story does go a little over the top with its dark themes (the main ones being dubcon and Dom/sub dynamics).

But I also gotta admit that I had/have a lot of fun writing a completely fucked-up character, to explore those depths is really interesting to me. And I hope you may also find an interest in it.

Like INNOCENCE LOST, I'm telling this story from both the male and the female character's perspective, but unlike my OC heavy story, these characters do not have names or detailed backstories or even specific physical features. I want to keep them ambiguous and vague, so anyone can interpret them however they want, imagine them however they like.

INFATUATED is about the connection of two people, a girl's sexual awakening, a journey into submission and obsession, pushing the limits of what "love" can make you do. It's dark and smutty, but also somewhat fluffy at times. I do like to keep a "healthy" balance. As rough as it can get, there is always some aftercare. There has to be.

So, as of today, I will post a new chapter every Monday (and a new INNOCENCE LOST chapter every Friday), until I burn out and vanish (just kidding, I need the structure to force myself into keeping it up and I will! Don't worry!)

Also I will reblog some slightly different inspiration posts soon, fitting the vibe of the new story (nothing too explicit, I do like to keep my pfp and my blog >_>), adding to the cowboy and cute couple vibes. You can always check out my TAGS in the pinned post if you like to filter some.

talk shop tuesday! i really really like your l&co skullyle flavoured modern au!! it hasn't left my mind since, your work is incredible at keeping dynamics from books and adapting them for this fic's setting! but is there something that you are especially proud of or wanted to talk about from this series?

oh tysm, I adore the Skullyle internet friends au and I'm so glad others do too – especially one of my favourite L&Co artists, wtf!!

I got a bit carried away with my answer, so I'll pop it under a read more:

one of my favourite parts of the series (and just writing Lucy and Skull in general, really) is the duo's banter. their silly humour comes quite naturally to me since it's similar to my own, so it feels like I'm putting a little bit of myself into the fics I write about them! it's why compliments on their dynamic/conversations bring a really big smile to my face.

I'm also quite proud of how I've reflected their canon relationship in this modern au; Lucy is still the only one who can hear/communicate with Skull, and she's still able to cut him off mid-sentence by hanging up on him in lieu of closing the jar's grille. in a way, Lucy's phone is the modern version of the skull jar! someone clocked this in the comments of Missed Call and it made me SO happy :D I'd hate to steal all the credit for the concept, though – Pretty Boy and the whole au was inspired by this post by @lucy-lockwood!

speaking of the phone: a lovely someone asked whether Skull actually intended to call Lucy at midnight for Reasons Unknown... no comment from me right now, but we may circle back to this when I write more for the series... 👀

I was also pretty chuffed with the formatting for Missed Call. I'd never really played around with ao3 html before so it took me quite some time to figure it out, but seeing the finished thing made it all feel worth it! seeing this part fully formatted made me laugh way more than it should've:

one last little thing: Lucy's icon is a vinyl of Nirvana live at Paradiso, Amsterdam. I spent a while looking for one that felt right; I knew I wanted it to be blue (for obvious reasons) and it had to be something I could see her listening to. it's nearly impossible to make out in the final fic but it's just a fun little detail :) and Skull's display name is blue because, well, that's a Lucy colour! and they're kind of made for each other.

this ended up so much longer than I anticipated, I'm so sorry uiesfbksfbeoasdbkj I really do love this au, if it wasn't already glaringly obvious. I'm looking forward to writing more of it – and thank you again for this lovely ask! <3

disclaimer: i intend on finishing these fics so what im going to be talking about is inspirations and unfinished / abandoned ideas and other ideas i have for the works instead of anything relating to the plots themselves

for svadd, sj is a lot more complicated than he appears to be on the surface. im not so sure if what i have written currently is what i /want/ exactly because i know i want his character to go a certain way. the relationships between him and his modern-day friends is one meant to parallel the in-game "shen qingqiu" sj compares himself to and in much the same way, mirror the way that sy contrasts himself with sqq in canon: but instead of being condescending and viewing sqq as a one dimensional character, sj is able to appreciate his nuance while still being rightfully angry over his actions

to me, sj is supposed to be an unreliable narrator who constantly enforces his own thoughts. he tells himself over and over that he misses his home and that he wants to go back, that he absolutely needs to- but then, he turns the other way and finds himself being sucked even deeper into this different one.

i also really wanted to explore how sjs dynamic with a lot of the characters would be affected knowing that they were "based off" his real friends, but again im not very confident with how it came off lol

there was a lot of points in the story where i attempted to add in foreshadowing for the ending i want the story to take... in any case, it definitely wont go the same way as vadd, though i did toy with the idea of a "version" of sy being the main villain haha

as for the roxanna au there are a lot of things ive wanted to do with this au and its good that i havent posted because it means i can keep revising til i come up with something good lol

its a liujiu au with some bingyuan / cumplane thrown into the mix (the cumplane is overwhelmingly toxic btw bingyuan is the healthy one out of the two here 😭) where yes sj is xana !!! he really just makes such a good manhwa villainess haha

i had been puzzling over what i wanted his motif to be-- after all, sj is typically associated with the simplicity and calming bamboo so the glittering butterflies wouldnt work with him- but after some deliberation i decided with using moths for him :3c still subject to change ofc but i think im happy with this as is

the story is somewhat similar to how roxanna goes but surprise sj isnt the transmigrator here! (and honestly, roxanna wouldve been sm better if xana hadnt been a transmigrator... or maybe i just think that because it was only used as a convenient plot point for her to know crucial info. sigh.)

my outline of how the roxanna au goes is basically this:

lqg fucks around and finds out

sj who has been seeing dreams of the "book" sy read knows what will happen to his family if lqg dies

etc

at the same time: sy, transmigrator, attempts to make sure his only surviving older brother lives to a long happy life and the only way he can secure this is by fucking up that hack author

also i killed off qi-ge and idk if i want him to come back. he'll be like the stereotypical dead anime mother for this au lmao

Last Line Tag Game

I already shared a sentence from my GM wip yesterday, and I couldn't decide which wip I should take this time so you're getting them all :D

1. From a very kitschy HacksHBO Avorah fanfic I already told @die-schwanenkoenigin about and am hopefully gonna finish today:

"What, you turning into a vampire now, or is that an announcement to murder me?"

Though, I'm actually not sure whether I'll keep that sequence in the fic. I guess you'll have to wait and see!

2. From an Andromaquynh TOG AU wip that I honestly aren't sure whether I'll ever finish because it would have to be a longfic and Ahhhh time:

The farm is only about half an hour away - Quynh could walk there if she wanted to, but she never does, just staying in the fields and watching the riders from afar.

Not the last line I wrote, just the last sentence I went over. I actually wrote a bit more about this AU here, and if anyone's interested in getting the draft and adopting it, I'd love to hand it over to someone who has the time to write it!

3. From a Lie to Me, Zoe/Gillian follow-up to @ladydedlock 's fic:

Zoe makes an appreciative noise as Gillian starts to kiss her back in earnest, and Gillian smiles against her lips.

Yes, I'm writing the smutty sequel after all :D haven't gotten very far yet but I'm feeling optimistic that it'll get finished at some point instead of ending up on the forever draft pile xD

Aemond yearns for a perfect muse. He travels to the ends of the earth and back to find his inspiration to will him into creating a masterpiece like all his favorite artist has done before him.

With no luck to his side, Aemond is forced back to go home to present himself to the anniversary of IronThrone dynasty and the celebration of his half-sister new position in the company.

Aemond never in a million of years thought he’d find it , never crossed his mind that he would find his muse in the one who used to hide behind Rhaenyra skirt , who would pester his younger self when he followed him around like a puppy, the bastard that called himself a true Targaryen.

Jacaerys is art itself. Aemond couldn’t withhold the true beauty ,that shines through the orbs of Jacaerys eyes and language his body spoke that his mouth couldn’t ,from the world.

“Nephews.” Aemond takes the initiate to break the silence. It would make it more awkward if the three of them just stare at each other. Aemond wouldn’t mind but he thinks Luke and Jace would feel weirded out.

Aemond waited patiently for Luke to detach himself from Jace throughout the party, but just like they were kids, Luke seem to never leave Jace side.

Aemond hated then and he hates it now.

He wanted to talk to Jace alone, the party dragged on and Aemond feared he might lose his opportunity even he didn’t take it.

“Uncle.”Luke and Jace say with the same enthusiasm Aemond had spoken.

Zero.

They’ve grown, different but same. Both handsome , wise ; at least what his mother had said, and strong. In the area of height Jace hadn’t been so gifted. His beauty makes it up for it.

“It’s been awhile, hasn’t it.” Aemond never been good with small talk, especially with people he had no interest in making conversation.

“7 years.” Luke grumbled, earning him an subtle elbow to his side. Guess Aemond wasn’t the only one who wasn’t too happy about each others presence.

“The number seven is considered lucky. Someone once told me It is one of the numbers that is a symbol of perfection and eternal life.“ Jace stated, always the peacemaker. Trying to find the greener side of the grass .

Jace was not going to turn away when Aemond is extending an olive branch, even if it came with hidden thorns.

He smiled through every word , gaining Aemond attention to his white bunny teeth and plush pink lips. Aemond eye roamed Jace every single feature, every freckle, eyelash, every curl to burn it inside his memory to not forget.

Luke shuffled awkwardly, but didn’t dare to leave his brother alone with their uncle , that examine every inch of Jace , surveying a weakness to attack. It worried him more when it seem Jace was happy to oblige their uncle.

Jace raise his head high and fix his posture straight and firm . Desperately wanting Aemond to see how much he changed, grew into his dragon skin, to prove him wrong after many years of absent.

His skin tingled from Aemond stare. Jace proudly let himself be scrutinize by the man who exclaim himself as an artist.

With every sweep, Jace confidence grew with the transparent approval and something else that he couldn’t pinpoint in Aemond’s blue eye.

Aemond smirks in satisfaction seeing Jace blossom under his gaze, like a rose.

It’s going to be lucky year.

“Couldn’t agree more , Jacaerys.” Aemond keeps himself from grinning like cheshire cat. He couldn’t show his real colors until Jace lay bare and open.

Later when Aegon approaches him, drunk and slurring his words about their nephews, Aemond eye is still glued to Jace. He deals with Aegon intoxicated presence reminding Aemond how happy he’s was away from his brother. He nod absently at whatever comes out Aegon mouth until he brings up of wanting to get Jace.

“Stay away from him. You can do whatever you want with Luke or Joffrey, whoever you please I could care less, but stay away from Jace unless you want your brains splatter and hanging in an art museum.” Aemond threatens, his nostril flaring and his lip curled in a sneer. He waits until Aegon nods showing he understands to shoves him away from him.

Note: I really don’t remember what was my original idea but it changed into this, uhhhh???, it was supposed to be in college era like the post but this came out. Not that happy how the moodboard came out nor the writing, but I’m never happy with my writing.

Basically, Aemond is an artist moves away, travels ,study, maybe fall in love and along the way he loses his spark, his imagination to create, so he searches in every corner of the world. He fails , goes back home to the celebration of Rhaenyra being the CEO .

Then there’s Jace , hit puberty (late bloomer ) and became all hot meanwhile his uncle was away. Now that Aemond’s back , he wants to show off how much he changed, how ??? Idk???? Jace just want Aemond attention . He just taking notes out of his mothers book.

Luke is always cockblocking them. Aemond literally has to pay Aegon to keep the gremlin distracted. Heleana is added to the distraction plan just in case Aegon fails.

If I could write I would’ve written where they fuck and get paint all over them. Aemond getting his piece in the art galas , inviting everyone to see his work, Jace and Aemond falling in love.

Aemond is like 25 and Jace 23 . FYI

How is Christmas this week already?? Gahh! Work has been so, so busy and I’ve regrettably had very little time to write. I have so many ideas, so here’s to hoping I’ll get a chance to work on them during my brief Christmas break.

I need to finish part four of Moth to a Flame but I refuse to post it until it is ✨perfect✨ so in the meantime, I’ve had more Modern!Boba x f!Reader holiday thoughts…the brainrot continues!

• Boba, of all people, knows holidays can be difficult - especially Christmas. Whether it is relationally, emotionally, mentally, or a mix of all three; he’s intrinsically familiar with loneliness. You don’t know the full story yet, though you wager he’ll tell you when he’s ready, but you do know his father died when he was very young - leaving him orphaned, abandoned to the foster care system. He’d spent many Christmases alone, without the love he needed, and it wasn’t until you came into his life that he’s tried to embrace it.

• And bless him, he really does his best. He doesn’t understand the allure to some of the festivities, but you’d better bet he’s trying to stick to the traditions he knows. Tacky light tours? You bet. A cookie baking session? He’s on it. Picking out a tree to decorate? He’ll only want the best. And what he doesn’t know, you’re more than happy to show him. As long as it makes you happy, he’s all for it.

• One of your favorite things is seeing Boba uncharacteristically relaxed. He’s always so tense, a million wars raging in his mind, brows lowered in a severity shaped by trauma and loss - it melts your heart to see him wearing a soft sweater, sipping from a mug of hot chocolate, a warm smile on his face. You love snuggling with him as you watch a movie, his broad fame overshadowing yours, holding you close.

• Christmas isn’t always easy for you, either, but you never feel pressured to have everything perfect. There’s always the family drama, the rough days, your own losses, or times when your mind isn’t kind to you. But no matter the trial, you and Boba work hard to make it special - in your own, quaint, unique ways.

• Boba is a practical man - he shows love through service, presents, and thoughtful actions. Words can sometimes be hard, but he always puts in an effort. If you tell him you like something, he will not forget it. He’ll surprise you with these things year round, so Christmas is no exception. But even then, he always likes to keep you guessing, always trying his best to surprise you.

• You’d come home from a long day at work and find a tray of cookies already baked, a Yule log fireplace playing on the tv, and Boba sitting in his chair, waiting for you. You’d notice he’s back in that cozy sweater you love so much, the soft one that does little to hide his strong frame, a Santa hat perched on his head.

“Hey princess,” his warm voice would roll through you, casual and laid back as he’d pat his thigh, beckoning you over with a knowing smirk. “Still need to tell me what you want for Christmas.”

You’d sit there, in his lap, nestled against his chest, and press a kiss to his lips - one he hungrily returns.

“You’ve already given me the best present ever,” you’d meet his gaze, smirking when you see brief confusion flit through those achingly beautiful amber eyes. “Your love.”

“Always, little one,” he’d kiss you deeply, holding you oh so close, never wanting to let go. “Always.”

I almost never use titles as file names unless the inspiration was from something specific like a song (or in the very very rare case I know what I want it to be right away). Of these titles, I will definitely finish...five. Maybe six if I can figure out the ending. The rest I'll keep endlessly poking at until they eventually get moved to the Archive folder, never to be seen again. 😂 Honestly looking at this I see three right off the bat I should move there right now.

2022 Writer Year Review

Well, Tumblr totally did not notify me I was tagged by @writingpotato07 earlier for this, but I luckily saw it anyway!

Total number of completed works: Completed? Well, all of my one shots. So... 37 that are published on AO3!

Total number of WIPs worked on this year: 4 because I have no self control (such is the way, though, right?)

WIPs neglected this year: Umm... Swipe Right. Not really, but it definitely hasn't gotten the attention I intended to give it.

Fandoms I've written in: Star Wars! Hoping this answer will be very different next time!

Total word count: 255,181

Looking back, did you write more than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you expected? Considering I decided to start writing in June, I absolutely blew past all my expectations and wrote more than I ever imagined.

Did you take any writing risks this year? I think writing and posting at all was the biggest writing risk I've ever taken. But participating in events based on prompts and working with word count limits definitely pushed me, too.

Do you have any goals for the new year? To write a little bit every day and to focus on the stories, characters, themes that bring me joy!

Biggest disappointment? My biggest disappointments are just with myself and probably me overestimating my abilities to finish things on time.

Biggest surprise? The reception! 'Meeting' people and talking to other writers and readers has been super exciting and it's something I absolutely wasn't expecting when I decided to put my little silly stories on the internet.

Most popular story of the year? By and far, according to every metric, Friends of the Bride & Groom!

What's your own favorite story of the year? All's Fair in Love and Politics is my labor of love, the story that brought me here in the first place, and is my favorite thing I've ever written.

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: I don't think any of them have been under-appreciated, I'm consistently blown away at anyone choosing to read a word of what I write!

Most fun story to write: I had a lot of fun writing the kidfic stories in Flufftober, which were Just Like Dad, A Snuggle for Your Scare, and Warm Me Up!

Most unintentionally telling story: I pour a lot of myself and my life/inspiration into my fics. It all feels both unintentional and purposeful.

My favorite part of fandom this year: Finding out how much fun it is to be a Modern AU writer, keeping the love for Anidala alive, getting to see so many interpretations of the fools in love I love so much! Just being a part of it, honestly.

WIP Update -  3 May 2023

A very productive writing week -   I touched 7 fics (5 WIPs  & 2 new works)  for a total of  3104 words.   For the first third of the year, that gives me almost 43k words, which puts me well on track for over 120k for the year -- let’s see if that holds!

Seek & Destroy Collab

After reading @psychiccatpanda‘s amazing   Morguna and the Green Queen, I  got the itch to explore the Soldier’s POV and talked  Faustie into   collab’ing with me!  We’re working on a new part of the series, and I’ve  contributed about 900 words towards the  2500-ish we have so far.   Going to see if I can squeeze any of my BBB squares into this fic.  

Stucky Bingo Round Four [SB_R4] (Ends 31 May 2023)

Twenty fills with two bingos and 2 WIPs with a couple of other vague ideas. Targeting completion of at least three more squares - stretch goal of a blackout.

* B1 - Mutual Pining -  Leaning toward the Centerfold fic idea I’ve been toying with for awhile: a Modern No Powers AU where Bucky’s high school crush (skinny!Steve) is a model in a softcore porn mag.   Backup plan = Chapter 3 of   Making All Things New)

* r G5 - SHIELD   – soliciting ideas!   (possible crossover with Bucky Barnes Bingo - Forgotten Things?)

* O4 - AU: Supernatural -  got inspired by a dream to start a Stucky fantasy AU (magician!Steve/ensorcelled!Bucky) that @bill-longbow   is collaborating on with me. We’re currently sitting at 1640 words (984-ish of which are mine).    I really need to pick this back up & get it going 😬   I can use it for my BBB  AU: Medieval/Fantasy square and with some re-writing, I may be able to squish this into the Myths and Legends monthly prompt  and my BB_C4  Myth square.

*Adoptable1 - Remix one of your own fics – Finally cracked this thanks to another 3 Prompts –> Summary game: Wings, Transformation, Confession.  I’m planning a Bucky POV of part of Take What Was Wrong (And Make it Right) the obvious title - Half of the Flesh and Blood That Makes Me Whole. 😁  I’ve got 715 words in so far  and am crossing over with my WIB Mutual Pining square.  I may try to crossover with something from my new BBB card as well.

Avengers Bingo Round Four [AvB_R4] (Ends 2 June)

This  time around the card is a 3x3,  so am looking at writing different   pairings for my two favorite Avengers - Tony and Steve.    I have 3 fills  completed and three WIPs, with a couple more ideas in play.   Need to get moving on this as well - see  my Attack Plan

*A2 -  “Don’t leave me, please.” - Leaning toward a Steve POV of the post-battle scene where Tony’s just fallen out of the sky.  Something short, but hopefully sweet.  Other option - maybe combine with SB Adoptable -Remix own fic 

* B2 - Crossover AU –  picking up my Star Wars fusion Stucky/Stuckony fic:  Never More to Go Astray.  Pleased to discover the latest WIP chapter was already sitting at 942 words - just need to figure out how to wrap up the chapter.

* B3 - Mistaken Identity -  Chapter 3 of   Decision at Sundown  (based on the ficlet I wrote to fill the “Wet Your Whistle”  FFC23 prompt) is in progress and sitting at 737 words. I need to work the prompt in a bit more clearly before I can consider this finished - maybe another 300-500 words?

* C1 - Babysitter AU -   Started working on a collab with MagicaDraconia16 - tentatively titled Peremesnik (aka Three Avengers and a Baby). This will crossover with my  ACB Babysitter square and will involve  Steve, Bucky & Tony kidfic shenanigans.  Chapter 1 is sitting at  2205 words (my part - roughly 1400 words)  with another 500-ish already in chapter 2 (300-ish are mine).

* C2 - Accidentally in Love - posted  chapter 2 of Making All Things New on Friday -  this fic features Omega!Sex Worker!Bucky falling for  Alpha!Cap!Steve  (and vice versa) during an assignment and crossed over with my BB_C4 Omegaverse square. The chapter came in at 1501 words and am already 857 words into Chapter 3 - which may or may not be the final chapter.  😁

* C3 - Dog Tags - I drafted a short ficlet  A Piece of the Past  late last week - Sam POV  where he helps Steve with the titular item.  This will cross over with my SWB Steve Rogers square and is sitting at 404 words. 

Bucky Barnes Connect Four Alt-Juniverse Event (BB_C4)[ends 30 Jun 2023]

Signed up for this event over at @buckybarnesevents - you get a four-square card featuring ideas for AUs.  The prompts can be used as stand-alones or combined with each other or other events.   Thanks to crossovers, I have  two fils and WIPs for the other two squares!

I have 3 fills completed and two WIPs for this brand-new bingo event that I’m helping mod!  Still getting my thoughts together on what to match up with other cards, but   think I’m going to try to combine my B column squares for the Iron Soldier badge (complete a bingo with a single work). – Alpha Tony Stark, “That was not my intention.”, James Rhodes,Alpine loves Tony and Blind date.

* I1 - Edging - using this with Chapter 2 of   Surrender (But Don’t Give Yourself Away),  my WinterIron –>Stuckony  Steve POV WIP based on the following 3 Prompts –> Summary game prompt :  Praise Kink, One Night Stand, Identity Porn.  It’s currently sitting at 624 words and is crossing over with my BBB KINK - “Please let me come.”  square.

* I4 - Identity Porn - this will go along well with the drafted  Chapter 7 of   Takin’ What They’re Givin’ (‘Cause I’m Workin’ for a Livin’) where Bucky meets Tony and they find a way to keep his identity a secret after all.  This chapter is coming in at 2988 words and  will post May 5th.

* O4 - Steve Rogers - Using this for chapter 8 of   Takin’ What They’re Givin’ (‘Cause I’m Workin’ for a Livin’), where camboy!Bucky’s worlds start to collide.  The chapter is coming in at 2152 words and will get posted probably by the end of the month.

On  other creative fronts:  I have a POW Bucky Stuffed With Character figure in progress. I have multiple commissions from the Hall of Heroes  Comic Con to work on and am prepping for a con in June  so am  pretty well booked up through early summer.

Writing Plans for 2022

I'm gonna slap a read more tag on this because it's gonna be a long one. Basically just an overview of what I will (probably) be writing this year.

My New Years resolution was to absolutely crack down on my writing and pump out more pages than Stephen King but we'll see if that actually becomes a thing.

My priorities, kind of in order but also not really because I am a very indecisive person:

Also, requests are not featured on here because I intend to do those sort of in between my actual fics. But I swear they are on my mind and definitely on "the list"!

My Peaky Blinders fic (White Ribbon). This will be a two part novel series so I think the majority of my efforts will be going towards this. I at least need the first written this year but will hopefully power through into Book 2.

A bunch of other things for Adrien Brody characters because I am down bad and nobody can stop me. Confirmed (in my mind) so far includes: - The Grand Budapest Hotel - bringing Alice back for a multichapter AU of her and Dmitri rather than Jopling - The Darjeeling Limited - have a lil multichapter fic planned for this - King Kong (2005) - Look, hear me out. It's a really cool world that I want to write in. Also, Adrien. - Chapelwaite - Main reason is again Adrien but also I really want to write horror and love the gothic sort of setting. Probably will wait for season 2 to come out first though. Also may use Charlotte (my Peaky character) for it.

I'm probably not finishing that Willem challenge... but I still have a lot of his stories that I intend to follow through on because they will haunt me otherwise. These include: - World on Fire (Light Sleeper) - A two part novella? novel? that uses my character Kelly from my old Far Cry 5 fic and it keeps calling to me, especially the ending scene, so I know I need to finish writing it. - a currently unnamed fic for Murder on the Orient Express - I also have so much inspiration for this and I can't wait til it's written but I have some things in the storyline and character to fine tune first. This will probably come when White Ribbon and World on Fire are finished. - Finish Verum Vindictae (John Wick). I can't let this one fall into the abyss of abandoned WIPs but I also don't really have the inspiration for it right now. - I do have to finish LEOMB though can make no promises when - Potentiallyyyyyy an Aquaman fic that I didn't have a full storyboard for but some ideas for. I love the world of this film and what I had in mind would be very dark, almost horror-esque. - Also potentially a fic for Roadhouse 66. I have the first chapter written, a character, and nearly an entire storyboard. I just don't know if I care enough about it to invest the time. - also potentially (but less likely) a Beyond Two Souls one

A Modern Warfare fic because the nostalgia for COD is hitting me hard again and I think I actually sort of have a couple ideas for it. And I had no idea that so many people were horny for Ghost now so it's actually a thing.

Finish my Far Cry 5 fic. The sequel will probably be in 2023 realistically.

Potentially more Wes Anderson stuff even if it doesn't involve Adrien because I just love his worlds; they're huge comforts to me. But this is only if I can think of good ideas.

A couple original works. Short stories and some poetry. I don't know yet if I will be posting them, though.

If I'm feeling ready for it, and have written enough of my long to-do list, then I may start on my dark western novel that I intend to publish. Won't be posting here because if my real name was ever associated with this I would probably become a hermit. But of course whenever I do end up writing it I can keep anyone interested updated.

Monster sequel in um... 2023? 2050, more like it.
