Athena Polemodocus
There is this super popular (and shallow) idea that Ares represents the brutality of war while Athena represents the strategy, I think it’s shallow bc Athena can be just as brutal and cruel as Ares and just bc she controls her violent tendencies a little better and obeys Zeus a little more doesn’t change the fact she can be terrifying.

Ghost Cores are Dionesium
So! I while ago, I saw a Post about Danny and the Court of Owls, and one suggestion in the comments basically said, "What if Dionesium, the stuff they use to bring back the dead, is just Ghost Cores?"
And that got me thinking. Lazarus Pits are just Dionesium Infused Water, so how would they be created if Dionesium is a Ghosts Core? Well they way I see it, Lazarus Pits can only be formed in 2 Ways.
The first way is for a large number of Ghosts to be Ended at the same time, with their shattered Cores piling up and dissolving into Water.
The other way, if for an Ancient to Die. The Ancients are practically God's, and as such their Cores are immense in Power. When an Ancient dies, and their Core is left to dissolve in the Human Realm, it forms a Lazarus Pit in the exact same way it would take hundreds of normal Cores to do so.
Where am I going with this?
Well, isn't there a Giant Lazarus Pit under Gotham? The Batcave even has one, doesn't it?
The reason Gotham is so cursed isn't because Lady Gotham likes to collect Curses, or because her Ectoplasm is corrupted, it's because she isn't there to stop them anymore.
Lady Gotham is Dead.
Her Core sank deep into the Earth, forming a Lazarus Pit under the entire City, but thankfully far away from her People. She died, and only the fact that she is a Conceptual spirit saved a piece of her Consciousness. She represents a City, she can only fully be killed if the entire City is leveled. That doesn't mean she is still alive however, just that the barest sliver of her mind is hanging on by a Thread.
This is how Gotham possessed Batman that one time, it was her base instincts saving one of her precious children.
If you want her to be a little more cognizant, maybe she is just severely Injured? Her Core is cracked to the edge of shattering and she desperately needs help.
She she calls out to whoever could save her, and a certain Ghost Boy hears her cry for help?

Unpopular opinion for a popular word: I actually like the abbreviation “Ody”. But no, it’s not abt convenience of application; it’s not abt attachment to the character; it’s not abt the sound of this fanname. No. I’ll just leave y’all a question.
What makes you think of nobody else but Odysseus, out of all Greeks, whenever you hear the fanname “Ody”?
It’s true that you can’t find another Achaean hero whose name starts with Ody-. It’s true that Autolycus gave him a name that means “to be angry at, to hate” (ὀδύσσομαι, odyssomai) which ends up reversing into the very situation Odysseus was in—“hated by gods and men”. It’s true that Odysseus has become such a famous/infamous character that everyone who hears this name (or something similar) immediately thought of him. But there’s something behind this name that I deem necessary to mention.
What do you think “ody” (ὀδυ) mean?
Surprisingly, nothing. Ὀδυ alone doesn’t mean anything in Ancient Greek—it’s not even a proper prefix. But even more surprisingly, there’re just these specific words and their derivations you can find in a dictionary which start with these three letters, whose meanings would remind you of nobody else but Odysseus:
ὀδύνη (odynē), “pain, distress”; and the verb and all the nouns and adjectives with the same root and the similar meaning.
ὀδύρομαι (odyromai), “to lament, wail”; and all the nouns and adjectives with the same root and the similar meaning.
ὀδύσσομαι (odyssomai), “to be angry at, hate”; and just the name of a man and an epic.
That’s all.
That’s all the words you can think of when you look at these three first letters, “ody”. That’s all the meanings you can attach to these three first letters, “ody”. And that’s the very impression you would get, when you look at the man that is Odysseus—pain, lament, hated.
And that, is how it makes me think of nobody else but Odysseus, out of all Greeks, whenever I hear these three letters, “Ody”.

Started imagining Athena and Ares with some of their sacred animals. What if Athena was given a baby owl? Then Ares has a puppy?
(Athena scenario)
Tumblr media
Athena (getting her cheek lovingly nuzzled by the baby bird): Aww! Who's a good girl? You're so cute.
Ares (appearing from around the corner): What was that?
Athena (fumbles for a book): I said that this textbook was fascinating.
Ares (sarcastically): Funny because it sounded like--
Athena (agitated): Like we were strengthening our minds.
Ares: With owl snuggles?
Athena: With KNOWLEDGE.
Ares (smirking): You with your owl hatchling are cute.
Athena (throws book at him): Mind your business.
(Ares scenario)
Tumblr media
Ares (playfully getting a stick out of his puppy's mouth): So strong! Are you going to let Daddy toss the stick again?
Athena (starts walking over): Having fun?
Ares (scrambles to his feet): I'm teaching him how to maul.
Athena (doubtfully): With a stick?
Ares:...I'm also teaching him how to fetch bones from the battlefield.
Athena: Is that really a necessary skill?
Ares (annoyed): Is you talking really a necessary skill?
Athena (begins walking away): Enjoy being that puppy's "daddy."
Ares (to puppy): Sic her!

Thinking of my New Ancient of Darkness au. Specifically started pondering the Talons and just, would Bruce feel like one of them to them? Like technically he's not undead, but he is also of the Realms. He's one of their primordial beings, even if still in mortal form. So like, even if ordered, could the Talons even attack him? Would they be able to do so? Would they even want to? Would Bruce feel like another Talon to them, or something else, something far more dangerous?
