My Fav Shoujo-Josei Manga Recommendation

Currently, I've indulged myself in Korean manhwa/webtoon, so I decided to go back and read some Japanese manga for a change. Maomao “Yabai, yabai, yabai, yabai… Nenkiga akeru-made gejo-to-shite hissorito sugosu keikakugaa…! Naniga waru-kattanda? Sobakasu-onnano mojini hanno-shita-kotoka? Jibunno sukāto’o tsukatta-koto? Iya, somo-somo oshiroino doku-sei’o shitte-ita-kotoka?”

ひとりごと(独り言/一人言/Hitori-goto) : talking to oneself, thinking out loud, a solilioquy, a monologue

やばい(Yabai): Originally it means terrible, dangerous, being in danger or trouble, but recently young people often use in good meaning like awesome, so cool, or ‘Oh my god!’

豆知識（まめちしき/Mame-chishiki）: 豆（まめ/Mame） means “beans”, and 知識(ちしき/Chishiki) is “knowledge”, so combined 豆知識(Mame-chishiki) means “bits of knowledge”, tidbits, tips, or trivia.

暇人（ひまじん/Hima-jin): 暇(ひま/Hima) means ‘being bored, having nothing to do’, and 人（じん/Jin） is a person, so 暇人（ひまじん/Hima-jin） means a person with a lot of free time. Although Jinshi is not 暇人 at all actually, and he just wants to see Maomao…

神出鬼没（しんしゅつきぼつ/Shinshutsu-kibotsu）: elusive, appears and disappears like a phantom, shows up everywhere. In Japanese, there are a lot of this kind of four-character idioms called 四字熟語（よじじゅくご/Yoji-jukugo）.

Honestly, Mistletoe is one of my favorite Yura Hatsuki albums. Its such a different style for her which really shows how versatile she can be! I really hope we get some more ethnic folk music from her in the future!

Pronouns aren't often used in Japanese, so I took some liberties adding some pronouns based on who I thought was delivering the line in the story, but there is actually no suggestion of gender.

I read so much this month because I was just procrastinating on assignments that much. There were some volumes that I didn’t care for this month but there also many that I did really enjoy, like Isekai Goumon Hime, Sword Oratoria and Majo no Tabitabi. I also started Adachi to Shimamura which is a series that I have been meaning to check out for a while. The new Sword Art Online volume was a joy to read and I’m excited to see the continuation of Unital Ring in December.

Next month, I’ll be continuing with Isekai Goumon Hime and Adachi to Shimamura, as well as Sekai no Owari no Encore. I’m also hoping to start Unnamed Memory and Tsundere Akuyaku Reijou Liselotte.

Out of next month’s releases I’m keeping my eye on Eris no Seihai (Eris’ Holy Grail) (it looks pretty yuri-ish and I enjoyed what little I read of the web novel version), Mahou to Shoujo no Aishita Sekai (The World that the Witch and the Girl Loved) (I love the cover and it seems so peaceful and optimistic. It gives me Majo no Tabitabi vibes) and Itsuka koko ni ita anata no tame ni/zutto soko ni iru anata no tame ni (Someday, for you who lived here/Forever, for you who stays there) (again, I really love the cover art and the plot seems interesting and I’ve heard good things about the author).
