While not as celebratory as October (MY B-DAY MONTH!) and not yet as festive as December, November is a month that’s always full of promises to me. It’s the month when I usually swear to myself I'll get everything done, so I can try to relax when it's Christmas time. While my productivity levels aren't as consistent as I'd like them to be, my will to be productive certainly is. I'm definitely a list kind of girl, loving making them just as much as I enjoy reading them in magazines and on archive blogs from the 2010s (classygirlswearpearls and rookie magazine, I’m looking at you guys). So what better way to start the month and try to get myself together than by writing a big ole' list? My November Guideline:

To be inspired

On TV: Spencer Hastings, Blair Waldorf, Tanner Hall

I may have only watched a season and a half of Pretty Little Liars, but that absolutely doesn't stop me from loving and pinning essentially every single outfit ever worn by Spencer Hastings on television, EVER. I love the way it's simultaneously classic and dated. I've never been one to fear a dated style or outfits that might one day make me sigh and go, "Oh my God, that was so ten years ago for me." I guess that's my way of contributing to history and experimenting with the millions of inspirations I'm constantly bombarded with via social media. I specifically love this aspect of her style, how she wears what she wants, what she loves, but always communicates a deep appreciation for a more traditional way of dressing. 

A lot of the same things can be said about Blair. Again, a character from a TV series I haven't watched all the way through (I can't make it past the first few episodes of season 3, sorry!), who was a pillar of preppiness back in the day, and is still wildly beloved, despite having committed a few fashion faux pas in my opinion. The craziness of it all and even the grandma-ness of it all actually fascinate me about Blair's wardrobe. How she constantly projects a vision of who she needs to be. Spencer does the same, obviously, but with Blair, it's almost like she viewed every day of her life, every problem she needed to face, as a new plotline of an old movie that needed to unravel. For each plotline, she reacted as a different heroine would, and each heroine, naturally, expressed herself differently through fashion. I just love these characters she creates for herself, and I feel like I often have the same instinct to curate an outfit like that when getting ready.

Tanner Hall, directed by Diane von Fürstenberg's daughter, Tatiana, is in the same aesthetic line as the previous mentions. The movie is set in a quintessential New England boarding school, where beiges, browns, and muted greens seem to be the only existent colors. The whole wardrobe is gorgeous, designed by DVF, and the holy grail for all those who are obsessed with an old-time preppiness. While the movie's plot may be flawed, its attempt to portray the delicious whimsy and melancholy of a girlhood that tries to expand inside the claustrophobic gates of the school is genuine and comes from what, to me, is a mixture of personal history and folklorized memories. I really like the softness of it all; you can almost smell the crisp apple scent through the screen.

I can't really explain my current fixation on Emma Watson, but I have the feeling it has something to do with the fact I've been looping her Burberry campaigns practically every day. The songs are so reminiscent of a carefree city life, going on long taxi drives in the rain and putting your hands over the steam of your coffee on a cold day in the park with your friend, wet fall leaves on the cement sidewalk. I used to admire Emma Watson a lot when I was younger, and it's nice to rediscover this fondness for her. And let's be honest, she is definitely one of the founders of the gamine community; all I have, I owe to her!

Now, my current admiration for @silly_lettuce on Instagram is totally aesthetic, and I'm not afraid to say it. Gorgeous girl, gorgeous outfits, what's not to love. I could go on and on about her style in general, the silhouettes she wears, the boots, the knee-high socks, but instead, I'll just urge you to check out her page! So timeless, yet so young, fun, fresh, and COOL!!!! 

Eva Meloche is a YouTuber I've been watching for as long as I can remember, and not only do I adore the calm energy all of her videos exude, but I also really love her travel stories and spot recommendations in general, which always come in handy. Oh, and, of course, she has impeccable taste. Even though her style is different from mine, I guess I use her content as a way to explore.

To wear 

I think it's totally healthy to have an everlasting lust for new clothes and new products. Maybe it's because the holiday energy is already lingering in the air, or maybe it's because I'm fresh out of a father and daughter trip to Paris, but recently, I've been loving to revisit my old favorites. And by old, I mean back-when-I-was-twelve old, which includes:

Red Valentino patterned A-line dresses

Ok, I know they may be a bit too young, but if you get it, you get it, I guess. With some ballerinas or Mary Jane pumps, a cute overcoat, and a nice pair of sunglasses, you'll look positively '60s. Honestly, any A-line dress works, but RED V makes me remember my trips with my grandparents and going shopping with them.

The Cardi-blazer 

So basic, I know, but I cannot stop thinking about the Ba&Sh Gaspard cardigan and Guspard blazer. I just love how it elevates a basic outfit. With a pair of jeans and a trench coat over it, it has infinite potential. I can definitely see myself wearing it to a lunch with friends, for some afternoon shopping, or just for a coffee run. I love the Ba&Sh cardi-blazers, specifically because of how cool they look without ever being an "in-your-face" type of item. The buttons are nice and discreet, and the style is put together but not excessively frumpy.

Flap Brogue

Maybe it's the Miu Miu enthusiast in me, but ever since they released the new collection of shoes with Church's (my dad's fave), I've been loving all outfits that include a pair of brogues. I already had a pair of light brown oxfords (which are my one true love), but I really wanted something in black and thought that a pair of flap brogues would be a nice addition. They're perfect to wear with sheer hosiery, a mini jean skirt, and a cozy black sweater to tie it all together.

Talking about sweaters... I just have so many cool statement ones living in my brain recently; it's a bit concerning. What's better than wearing a huge sweater that screams "look at me" when going out with friends or having a nice dinner party? I've been specifically lusting over two models: the Kritzia glittery, oversized turtlenecks with animal motifs and the Zadig and Voltaire Alma "rock and roll" red one.

It's so 2016 to talk about Golden Gooses, but... I just love them. I happened to buy them after quite a bit of time resisting after I found myself with soaked ballerinas after a violent rainstorm, soon-to-be late to my lunch reservation. The Golden Goose store was my knight in shining armor, literally, offering me shelter and shoes. And maybe it was the desperation, maybe it was the pink sparkly star, but all I know was that I left that store in a glittery haze, enamored by the sneakers I'd just impulsively bought. No regrets!

-Fuck it, ye olde good Punk!Gil: At least some piercings, has a battle jackets and the patches aren't only music themed; in friendly terms with the locals to the point of crashing in squatted places; dude likes teaching so could impart knowledge in self-managed community services... Not too much soldier-like anymore!

Regular Show - Christmas in Space (Season 8 Episode 23; 1 December 2016)

As a teenager, there was no better animated show I enjoyed watching in the early 2010s than Regular Show and like all good long-running animated shows, there were a number of Christmas specials. There were 3 in total, with The Christmas Special and Merry Christmas Mordecai being the other ones, but I always gravitate towards the show's final Christmas special, shown during the space-set 8th and final season to get into the festive spirit.

Christmas in Space adopts the format of the Terror Tales of the Park Halloween specials, with the characters telling each other a number of Christmas-themed stories and there's also an amusing running joke involving Benson trying to get the others to appreciate hand bells.

The first story sees the park gang travelling to the snowy planet of Celsius, which only has 5 minutes of sunlight. After the gang spend more than 5 minutes there, the previously adorable and sweet snow creatures turn evil as darkness falls and now they must escape...

The second story (and my favorite of all the stories told in this episode) sees a caroller visit the house and starts singing The Twelve Days of Christmas, which come to life and attack everyone and they need to find a way to get rid of him...

In the third story, Mordecai and Rigby have forgot to buy Pops the present Benson assigned them to buy for him (an old-fashioned typewriter) and visit a 'theoretical' shopping mall in the 5th dimension, where every decision they do not make spawns clones of themselves while the fourth and final story sees a frustrated Benson try to scare Rigby into behaving by summoning Krampus who everyone believes doesn't exist, but the all-too real Krampus soon makes an unexpected visit...

All the stories are really enjoyable but The Twelve Days of Christmas sequence always remains the most memorable for me due to it being my favorite Christmas song ever and the gifts of the song coming to life in the 2nd story is really inspired and funny while the interdimensional weirdness of the 3rd story is also a highlight. Another classic Christmas special.

"Piñatas and Piranhas"

In 2010, I started a new job as Life Enrichment Manager for a senior living Corp. Darlene, the Buisness office manager, went out of her way to make me feel welcome. We'd spend our lunch hour getting to know each other better, and discussing improvements we hoped to make on the campus. It was during our lunch chats, that Darlene shared, that in just one week, she would be going in for a major surgery.

The she left for medical leave… I saw her walking to her car, gave her a big, one-armed wave and for some reason (still unknown to me need anything at all, just holler, I'll be there in a flash!

Two days lasted, I recieved a call from a very groggy Darlene. When you said to call youif I needed ,help... did you really mean good help with ANYTHING? Staying true to my word, YES! ABSOLUTELY! I watched the the worried look rapidy melt from her face.

OH,THANK GOD!!! I can't kero up with n⁸[o puppies are driving me nuts. Could you pleeeaaasse take them until I'm released? "

Why this didn't seem like a favor at all, caring for 9-6 week old pugs!!! I imagined myself on the floor covered in adorable tail waggers who looked like one had chased a parked car, and the remaining 8 followed suit. THE PUPPY BREATH...Ohhh, the puppy breath and those adorable pug puppy sounds…I couldn't wait to get them home to snuggle them!!

NOPE! NONE OF THE ABOVE HAPPENED!!

It was like hosting a birthday party for 9 baby piranhas, where every 3 hours I had to skillfully wade thru the frenzy of yippy and extremely zippy, little ankle biting guests, I'm order to hang the party piñata! Which, by the way, had the added duty of sitting on a hard stool for a minimum of half hour, waiting for each one to crap before the ding of the bell and the piranha pug wrestling pro championships began. If I missed even 1 squatter, it meant baths for all!!

ON WEEK 3, I upped my Xanax prescription to Anna Nicole Smith level, bought 2 tiny wading pools (one for intake… one for outpoo-t), which did solve 2 of the 1,796,857 other issues, from PEWEES PUGTOP PLAYHOUSE, ranging from nooo sleep, to no sex, because my husband, apparently makes mother pug noises during coitus, triggering all nine to cry, then poop, then wrestle in the poop, aaaaaannnd you know the rest. This unraveling series of unfortunate dog domino events, had profound ability to instantly trigger the realtion of the passion of foreplay to the image of an 11pm poo party mop up. Resulting in an emphatic "NO!" when my husband dared to develop even a single sparkle in his eye!

FINALLY.....week six had arrived, and it was pick up day at Pissy Missy's piranha-dog daycamp. I practically threw all 9 yapping bandits, like snowballs at a mean kid on Christmas break, in desperation to get them in her car fast enough.

Darlene gasped, and softly slapped her hands on her face, with mouth opened in awe. She marveled at how much they'd grown since she'd last seen them. She quietly squeeled while spewing the science behind their fast bellies and healthy glow, "they only do this well while in the cage of someone who obviously LOVED caring for them!" " ...(we can start with 3-5 paid days off work), a tin of ankle bandaids- the good fabric kinds and a magnum of Greygoose Vodka, is what I was thinking) …

Darlene continued…."So I talked to my husband last night, and we've decided to give YOU".......(at the point, my butt puckered with excitement, thinking it was a new car, I mean there was so much build up!)… "PICK OF THE LITTER!!!" She continued. YOU CAN FUCK RIGHT OFF DARLENE! Was the reply in head… so I thought it was in my head, till I saw the Grinchy Temple smile fade from her church lady face, then realized my reply had somehow escaped, during my flash of PUG PTSD, thinking she was gonna leave me with one of those little bastards!!

"Ohhh they can be alot, can't they?" She said (kinda cringing) then she smiled. I said nothing (but the crowd inside my head went wild! They were so proud I fought back 4 letter words reserved for US Navy Brigoderes stranded for 6 months at sea ), when I relaxed my mouth, I could feel the blood rush back into my lips, so I knew I had kept them tight as nuns ass during midnight mass.

Two days later, I found a check on my desk for $500 and a note from Darlene thanking me again for all my help. There was of, course no way I was keeping the money, so returned it to her desk while she was at lunch. In big red letters I had written the word "VOID" accros the check, in tiny letters bellow the void I wrote "of this friendship" with a laugh emoji. I hid in the lobby, waiting for her to return to her office. return heard her let out the biggest laugh… then I entered and joined her.

favourite online fandom memory: ok, so I was part of a ff.net forum back in like...2010? and a bunch of us planned to meet up at an anime convention. In hindsight, it was a stupid af thing to meet up with a bunch of internet strangers (plus my best friend who introduced me to the forum but still) but we had a TON of fun. I fell out of the fandom (college/life got in the way) unfortunately, but those memories

favourite old fandom you wish would drag you back in/have a resurgence: y'all will know as soon as I do a Code Geass rewatch because I will not talk about anything else for a bit.

favourite thing you enjoy that never had an active or big fandom, but you wish it did: If I ever run out of f1 rpf fic to read I might check in on the Code Geass fandom on AO3. It wasn't huge on the fanfic spaces back in 2010 (and the fanfic spaces were significantly less developed) so I might see what has happened since then.

tempting project you're trying to rein in/don't have time for: I have two different longfics that are occupying my brain. I'm trying to get through PWFE, finish Nymph!Pierre #3, do my editing pass on the other oneshot that's nearly done, then I can sit down and figure out which longfic I'm tackling first.

TROUBLE WITH THE CARVE

Opening this week:

Thanksgiving--Slasher movies of the '70s and early '80s were often holiday-themed. Black Christmas, Halloween, My Bloody Valentine, Silent Night, Deadly Night, New Year's Evil and April Fool's Day are all examples, while Friday the 13th and Happy Birthday to Me, while not strictly about holidays, are still tied to special dates and the convenient unity of time they provide. But Thanksgiving was somehow the major holiday the genre seemed to miss.

There actually were a couple of little-remembered attempts--Home Sweet Home in 1981 and Blood Rage in 1987. But neither seemed to count, perhaps because they didn't use the holiday in the title, or perhaps because they didn't sufficiently exploit the gruesome possibilities offered by the day's rituals. Whatever else may be said about it, the newly-made but self-consciously old-school slasher picture Thanksgiving works hard to include every classic Turkey Day trope.

A shoppers' riot and stampede at a store that shouldn't be open on Thanksgiving leads to bedlam and grisly death in a small Massachusetts town. "One Year Later"--as a subtitle traditionally informs us--a figure in the mask and garb of a Pilgrim skulks around exacting vengeance on those deemed responsible for the disaster. Everything eventually converges in a ghastly sit-down dinner.

The film traces its inception back to 2007, when two movies, the Robert Rodriguez shocker Planet Terror and Quentin Tarantino's stunt thriller Death Proof, were released as a double feature under the joint title Grindhouse. In and around the two features, the show included several "fake trailers" for fictitious grindhouse-style movies. Two of these have already wagged the dog as the basis for real features, Machete (2010) and Hobo With a Shotgun (2011); Thanksgiving marks the third.

Directed by Eli Roth, the Thanksgiving trailer in Grindhouse captured the nastiest, most low-rent atmosphere of a vintage gore movie, complete with scratched, faded footage, some really sleazo shocks, and the smarmy, glottal tones of the narrator (Roth himself?). You could almost believe it wasn't a put-on.

The new feature, directed by Roth from a script by Jeff Rendell, doesn't try for this level of faux-authenticity. The setting is contemporary, the budget clearly comfortable, and cell phones and social media figure prominently in the plot. But the movie still has a nice old-fashioned pace and structure and flavor, and the nostalgia of this is much of what makes it unsavory fun.

I'll admit that in recent years I've largely lost my stomach for slasher flicks. Moreover, I thought Roth's 2002 debut feature Cabin Fever was an interesting misfire at best, and I took a pass on his 2005 torture flick Hostel. But he strikes an affectionate tone here, and he employs techniques that distance us from compassion for the victims. Most simply and effectively, he makes many of them, especially the early ones, deeply and amusingly unsympathetic.

The cast is livened up by some veterans, like Patrick Dempsey, Rick Hoffman and Gina Gershon, and the "final girl" (Nell Verlaque) has a lovely presence, and unlike so many heroines back in the day, she fights back, resourcefully and successfully. It was also great to see Lynne Griffin, the first victim from 1974's Black Christmas--and the Hamlet figure in the Bob and Doug McKenzie movie Strange Brew--in a bit here.

Most notably, the film keeps it light. As with two other movies from earlier this year, Cocaine Bear and Renfield, Thanksgiving goes in for extreme, over-the-top splatter effects, and they aren't scary, nor do they seem meant to be. They aren't even all that gross. There's no visceral substance to them; the bodies of the victims go to pieces like gingerbread men, and the effect, seemingly deliberate, is cartoonish slapstick. We're about as likely to take their suffering seriously as that of Wile E. Coyote.

Maybe it's how entertainment like this works best: as a sort of anarchic Punch and Judy show, using humans instead of puppets. Like Thanksgiving dinner, it wouldn't be healthy to consume this sort of thing every day, but about once a year, it can hit the spot.

i don’t think i have a favorite decade? i’m hesitant to say anything well in the past because im a sucker for modern technology and also like human rights stuff that is generally better now to some extent i definitely wouldn’t want to live in the past, i don’t have huge opinions on like fashion from different decades but i do generally like modern music the most is it stupid to say the 2010s? idk. but we’re not far into this decade and it’s sucked pretty bad so far so i definitely wouldn’t say 2020s

idk if u mean when my birthday is, if u do i do really like it because it’s exactly one week after new years and two weeks after christmas and idk why but i just like that it works out so evenly like that. i like having a winter birthday and it means that i’m like towards the middle of the ages of other people in my grade. if u mean like do i cry on my birthday every year, then yes absolutely idek why but i do.

i am not 35 so i couldn’t but if that rule didn’t exist i don’t think i would. i’m not experienced enough to make those kinds of decisions and i’m positive that no one would vote for a 17 year old girl. if that happened in the future i very well might, i’ve always sort of thought about going into politics, i’m not going to, but it’s really fascinating and i wish i could try to fight for the things i believed in as a politician. i think i would die with the stress of being the president but i still would want to if i thought i had any chance of getting elected.

I spent Christmas alone this year. Pinkie Pie gave me an invitation to a 'Hearth's Warming Eve' party, whatever that is, but I still wanted to spend the celebration alone. I got a fake tree and set it up in the corner of my living room, placing a present under the tree for my mom like I've done since she passed away. Around two months after Christmas, Rarity sends me a tan vest with a note asking for my help making bird nests for Winter Wrap Up with a date attatched. I'm guessing it's some way of celebrating the last day of winter.

The day of, I put on the vest and meet up in the town center with everypony else at sunrise, Mayor Mare announcing, "Thank you, everypony, for being her bright and early. We need every single pony's help to wrap up winter, and bring in spring." The crowd cheers, and she adds, "Now, all of you have your vests, and have been assigned to your teams, so let's do even better than last year, and have the quickest Winter Wrap Up ever!"

Ponies cheer again, and Twilight, who is the only pony not wearing a vest, says, "Oh, this is so exciting."

Mayor Mare announces, "Alright everypony, find your team leader, and let's get galloping!"

Twilight asks, "Oh gosh, where should I go? I'm not sure where I fit in. What exactly does everypony do?"

Rainbow Dash sings, "Three months of winter coolness, and awesome holidays."

Pinkie joins in, singing, "We've kept our hoofsies warm at home, time off from work to play."

Applejack adds, "But the food we've stored is runnin' out, and we can't grow in this cold."

Rarity adds, "And even though I love my boots this fashion's getting old."

Twilight sings, "The time has come to welcome spring, and all things warm and green. But it's also time to say goodbye, it's winter we must clean."

I sing, "How can I help? I'm new, you see. What does everypony do?"

Twilight adds, "How do I fit in without magic?"

We both sing, "We haven't got a clue!"

The townsponies sing, "Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up! Let's finish our holiday cheer. Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!"

Applejack sings, "'Cause tomorrow, spring-"

Rainbow interrupts her, singing, "Is here!"

The townsponies repeat what they said, singing, "'Cause tomorrow spring- is here!"

Rainbow flies overhead, singing, "Bringing home the southern birds, a pegasus' job begins, and clearing all the gloomy skies to let the sunshine in. We move the cloud and we melt the white snow."

Rainbow and Pinkie sing, "When the sun comes up, it's warmth and beauty will glow!"

Townsponies sing the chorus again, "Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up! Let's finish our holiday cheer. Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up! 'Cause tomorrow spring is here. Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up! 'Cause tomorrow spring is here! 'Cause tomorrow spring is here!"

Rarity sings, "Little critters hibernate under the snow and ice."

Fluttershy adds, "We wake up all their sleepy heads so quietly and nice."

Rarity shows me some animals being woken up and gethering food, singing, "We help them gather up their food, fix their homes below!"

Fluttershy sings, "We welcome back the suthern birds,"

The two of them sing together, "So their families can grow!"

Townsponies sing the chorus again, Rarity singing "Winter, winter," while they sing "Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!"

Applejack explains her role next, singing, "No easy task to clear the ground, plant our tiny seeds. With proper care and sunshine, everyone it feeds. Apple, carrots, celery stalks, colorful flowers, too! We must work so very hard."

Applejack and two townsponies, Cherry Berry and Golden Harvest, sing, "It's just so much to do!"

The chorus is sung again, and Twilight sings, "Now that I know what they all do, I have to find my place. And help with all of my heart, tough task ahead I face. How will I do without my magic, help the Earth pony way? I wanna belong so I must do my best today! Do my best today!"

I join in on the final chorus, singing, "Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up! Let's finish our holiday cheer. Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up! 'Cause tomorrow spring is here! Winter Wrap Up! Winter Wrap Up!"

Twilight finishes the song, "'Cause tomorrow spring is here! 'Cause tomorrow spring is here! 'Cause tomorrow spring is here!"

Twilight says, "Everypony belongs to a team. What should I do? Where should I go?"

I say, "I don't know, Twi. But I've gotta go. Rarity asked me to help her. Maybe you can stop by later!"

Twilight nods, and I follow Rarity to her boutique. She shows me how to weave a bird's nest, hers coming out beautifully. It takes a few tries, but I eventually end up with one she's happy with.

While I'm in the middle of carefully weaving my second good bird nest, Twilight shows up, saying desperately, "Rarity, please tell me there's something, anything I can help you with."

Rarity asks, "Well, how would you like to help create Ponyville's finest birds' nests?"

Twilight asks confusedly, "Birds' nests?"

Rarity responds, "Why, yes! When the weather team guides the birds back north for spring, they'll need a place to live and lay their eggs."

She pulls out the perfect one she made earlier, and Twilight compliments it, saying, "Wow, Rarity! That one's really beautiful."

Rarity smiles, saying, "Oh my, thank you most sincerely. Would you like to try your hoof at a nest?"

Twilight asks, "Would I? Yes! Where did I begin?"

Rarity places the perfect amount of pieces of straw, hay, thin branches, and ribbon on the table in front of Twilight, and Twilight start weaving.

Rarity tries to instruct her, but her expression and tone of voice deflate into concern, "Okay. Now... Uh, take some of that straw and hay over there, and a little bit of branch. Now, weave them through there. Yes! uh, take some ribbon, yes! Oh, uh, n-not there, ooh yes, uh, tuck it in over there. Uh, but be careful not to... Oh, no, no, I- I guess that will do... Oh, dear."

Twilight finished her nest, hers ending up much worse than my first try, and she says, "There! It looks just like... yours. Oh, my."

Spike states, "That nest needs to be condemned."

Rarity fakes a laugh, saying, "Oh, Spike. It's not so bad. Uh, maybe birds can use it as a..."

Spike raises an eyebrow, saying bluntly, "An outhouse?"

I say through clenched teeth, "Spike, quit it." I turn to Twilight with a slight smile, saying, "It's a fine bird nest, Twilight. It looks just like the ones the birds in my world make!"

Apparently, that didn't help, and Twilight's expression deflates even more. I'd better just shut up. I don't want to make her feel even worse.

Rarity says, "It's just a little rough around the edges. Let me lend you a hoof." She grabs the nest and starts fiddling with it, saying, "Let's just untie this ribbon, and if we take out these sticks hee, and we shape it like this..."

She devolves into muttering to herself, and Spike says, "I think we lost her."

Twilight and Spike back away, Rarity muttering, "Ah, and we need to weave the string..."

She spends several hours just trying to fix this one nest, and I only end up making maybe 5 more on my own while trying to comfort her. After a while, I end up taking a walk into town for some more supplies and get Rarity's non-stop muttering out of my head, finding Applejack and Fluttershy talking to Rainbow Dash. Grateful for the distraction, I listen in.

Applejack says, "Rainbow Dash, y'all on the weather team need to melt the rest of the snow here on the ground and the trees, pronto."

Rainbow prepares to take flight, saying, "Got it."

Flutteshy stops her, saying, "You can't. My poor little animals' homes will get flooded if the snow melts too fast."

Rainbow says, "Got it."

Applejack says, "I'mm tellin' ya, Rainbow, ya gotta melt that snow now."

Fluttershy says, "No, you simply must wait."

Rainbow says, "Okay."

She's torn between them as Applejack says, "Go."

Fluttershy says, "Stop."

Applejack repeats, "Go."

Fluttershy repeats, "Stop."

Applejack exclaims, "Go!"

Flutteshy exclaims, "Stop!"

Rainbow Dash exclaims, "Ugh! Make up your minds!"

Mayor Mare walks up, exclaiming, "Oh, what is Equestria are you all arguing about? This sort of silliness is why we were late for spring laster year! And the year before that, and the year before that! I was hoping my amazingly inspirational speech would urge everyone to do better than last year, but now ti looks like we're going to be later than ever! I mean, just look at this catastrophe!" She gestures at the still-frozen lake, saying, "The ice scorers made the ice chunks too big to melt." She gestures at Rarity, saying, "The nest designer is horrendously behind. We need several hundred, and she's only made one!"

Rarity sobs loudly, and I say, "Actually, we made 7 so far, Mayor."

Mayor Mare rolls her eyes, saying, "That's still several hundred behind! And don't get me started on all the clouds in the sky, the icicles on the trees... This isn't good. Not at all!"

Applejack says, "And it's gonna be all-to-pieces disastrous if we can't get our seeds all planted."

Rainbow says, "Chillax, Applejack. We're bustin' our chops as fast as we can!"

Fluttershy says, "No, not fast. We have to wake animals slowly."

Applejack's big brother, Big Mac, says nervously, one of their helpers next to him, "Uh, AJ?"

Applejack turns to them, asking in annoyance, "Oh, good gravy. Caramel lost the grass seeds again, didn't he?"

Big Mac simply responds, "Eeyup."

Caramel whimpers, and a pegasus' flies over to Rainbow Dash, saying, "Derpy accidentally went north to get the southern birds!"

Rainbow groans, saying, "Oh, that featherbrain. Didn't see learn her lesson last year when she went west?"

Everypony starts complaining and arguing with each other all at the same time, and I start getting overwhelmed by all the noise, sitting down and covering my ears and closing my eyes to try to block it out.

Mayor Mare exclaims over the other ponies, "Stop this at once! We don't have time to argue! It's almost sundown. Spring is going to be late again! Another year of scandal and shame. If only we could be more organized!"

The noise suddenly stops as a bird chirps loudly for a few seconds, and when I turn to the sound I see Twilight squeezing a bird with her magic.

She stops squeezing it, and it starts flying away as she whispers to it, "Sorry." She turns to us, saying, "I know you all want to complete your jobs on time, but arguing is no way to go about it. What you need is organization, and I'm just the pony for the job."

She takes charge, leading all of the teams to be able to complete their tasks more quickly and efficiently. We finish wrapping up winter just before sundown, and Mayor Mare announces excitedly, "I can't believe it. Spring is here, on time!" She smiles at Twilight, saying, "And we have you to thank for it. If it weren't for your organizing skills, we would still be arguing!"

Big Mac says, "Eeyup."

We all laugh, and Twilight says, "It was a team effort."

Mayor Mare says, "And since you helped every team, we have an official vest for you." Rarity gives her a vest with colored patches for each team, and Mayor Mare adds, "We give you the title 'All-Team Organizer'."

Twilight says, "Gosh, I don't even know what to say. Thank you, everypony!"

Mayor Mare announces, "I hereby declare that winter is... wrapped up on time!"

Everypony cheers, and Applejack points at Spike sleeping on a chunk of melting ice on the lake, saying though giggle, "Spike's sure gonna be in for a hog-sized surprise when that last piece'a ice melts."

We all laugh, and Twilight eventually fishes him out of the cold water, bringing him home. I head back to my own home, crashing on my bed after a long day.
