I came across some photos online of the Planet Of The Apes Adventure Set published by Amsco in 1974. It’s based on the Apes TV series released the same year on CBS. Although the photos are small, I can recognize all the main characters.
Tumblr media
Like many show of the 1970s and 1980s, the Apes series was a “chase” show. It followed human astronauts Burke and Virdon, along with their chimpanzee friend Galen (played by Roddy McDowall who starting in 4 of the 5 original films).
Tumblr media
The humans were trying to find some scientific method to return to the past. But they were chased by orangutan Dr Zaius and gorilla General Urko (played by Mark Lenard who portrayed Spock’s father on Star Trek).
Set pieces include a space ship, Ape Village, and a subway station based on the BART system in San Francisco.
Tumblr media
Inexplicably it also includes the underground doomsday bomb and the destroyed Statue of Liberty seen in the films but not the TV series.

Revolutionizing Fire Safety: Water Mist Systems in Action
In today's fast-paced world, fire safety is a critical concern for both residential and commercial properties. Traditional fire suppression methods, like sprinklers, have been the standard for decades, but technological advancements have brought about a more efficient and effective solution: water mist systems. This innovative approach offers numerous advantages, making it a game-changer in fire safety management. What are Water Mist Systems? Water mist systems are a modern fire suppression technology that utilizes fine water sprays. The droplets produced by these systems are much smaller than those from traditional sprinkler systems, allowing them to more effectively absorb heat and reduce oxygen levels around the fire. This dual action of cooling and suffocating the fire results in rapid extinguishment with minimal water usage. Efficiency and Environmentally Friendly One of the standout features of water mist systems is their efficiency. These systems use significantly less water than traditional sprinklers, which not only conserves water but also minimizes water damage to property in the event of a fire. This efficiency makes them an environmentally friendly option, aligning with the growing global emphasis on sustainability. Versatility and Adaptability Water mist systems are versatile and can be used in various settings, from industrial and commercial spaces to residential buildings. They are particularly useful in spaces where water damage from traditional sprinkler systems is a concern, such as in museums, data centers, and hospitals. This adaptability extends to different types of fires, as water mist systems are effective against a wide range of fire classes. Real-Life Applications Consider a scenario in a hospital where a fire breaks out in an area with sensitive medical equipment. A traditional sprinkler system would douse the area, causing significant water damage to the expensive equipment. A water mist system, on the other hand, would effectively extinguish the fire with minimal water, thereby protecting the equipment and ensuring the hospital's operations are not significantly disrupted. Safety and Health Benefits In addition to their fire suppression capabilities, water mist systems are safer for people in the vicinity of a fire. The reduced amount of water means less risk of slip hazards, and the fine mist is less likely to cause respiratory issues compared to the heavy smoke and steam generated by traditional systems. This aspect is crucial in settings like care homes or schools, where occupants' safety is paramount. Cost-Effectiveness While the initial installation cost of water mist systems might be higher than traditional sprinklers, the long-term benefits are worth the investment. The reduction in water damage, lower maintenance requirements, and longevity of the system contribute to overall cost savings. Furthermore, the minimal aesthetic impact of these systems makes them a preferred choice for spaces where appearance is important. Conclusion Water mist systems represent a significant advancement in fire safety technology. Their efficiency, environmental friendliness, versatility, and safety benefits make them an ideal choice for a wide range of applications. As we continue to seek sustainable and effective solutions in all aspects of building management, water mist systems stand out as a smart investment for protecting people, property, and the environment. By embracing this technology, we're not only ensuring a safer today but also paving the way for a more secure and sustainable tomorrow. Whether it's in a residential setting, a commercial space, or a specialized environment like a data center or museum, water mist systems offer a superior approach to fire safety that meets the demands of the modern world.

YES OMG. thats the textbook we use. and i don’t take an art elective this year but the ones I’ve taken last year were really fun, it was just a general art class? like we did painting and stuff with clay ect. i do sometimes do art on my own tho
-🗝️
The AMSCO is literally everywhere, apparently. I know people in many different schools who also happen to use it! It is fun to know that you happen to also own one, though. I guess we are twins on that!
Ah, I see. So we both had an art elective last year, and not this year. Painting and stuff with clay is fun, in any case, and so is art on your own! What kind of art do you do on your own?

My issue with ap gov is 1. My sister (a good writer, who now studies something related to law at an ivy league) said the class was easy (and me, a not so very good writer, finds out I am not so well equipped for upcoming ap test) and 2. I do not care about the government. Or amsco. Or random ass facts about the bureaucracy. I am literally a math/compsci nerd.
Lessons you learn! Our teacher is a great guy but whew.
i don’t care about government or amsco or random ass facts about the bureaucracy so i feel confident in my choice thank you 🙏🙏🙏
