I actually have this really cool idea that I am experimenting with, and debating on whether I should put in the Misfits AU or not, where Yuma actually once worked for the Peacekeepers as someone known as the “Death Detective.”
Yuma was taken in by Amaterasu after his parents died during a war from outsiders that cost his parents’ life. He’s basically brainwashed there to pretty much devote his life to the Peacekeepers.
He and Shinigami didn’t get into a contract, but rather Yuma’s family have a connection with the supernatural and occults, including the ability to work with Shinigami. Shinigami came to Yuma after his parents’ passing and their pleads to look after him and help him. She and Yuma would then work together in solving cases, which includes offing the culprits of the Mystery Labyrinth. This leads to Yuma being known as the “Death Detective” among the public and the Peacekeepers (and possibly a bit of rivalry/hatred from a certain director).
However, as he becomes a young adult, Yuma begins to discover how most of the culprits only seem to commit crimes because of the actions of both the Peacekeepers and Amaterasu. He tries to convince them to try to do better, but he’s pretty much threatened to silence and continue his work. So having enough and finally listening to Shinigami, Yuma runs away from the Peacekeepers and hides away into Kanai Ward.
Until he is found and recruited by the Nocturnal Detective Agency.

Why do people like the Peacekeepers so much? (Outside of Sawnk and maybe Dominic Fulltank)
What can be said other than that people love their antagonists? Well, ya came to talk to me, so I've got more to say than just that. Despite their short amount of screentime (except for Yomi), an abundance of the community adores these villains. It could be argued that the lack of presence in the game would turn people away from ever really caring about them, but they've flipped that downside on its head!
People are creating their own backstories and lives behind the scenes for these peacekeepers. They want to see more about them, so they're getting more through their creativity. I don't blame them for wanting more official content, either. There's a lot to find interesting and crave an expansion on with these characters. I know I'm desperate for more Hitman Zilch content even if the whole world is working against me cause of spoilers. I'm sure the same can be said for all the Seth, Martina, Guillaume, and Dominic (..and yes, even Swank) enjoyers out there. We want more, so let's keep pushing for it! Respectfully, of course.

Wouldn't it be a cool Danganronpa tie in if they changed the name of the Amaterasu Corporation in Rain Code to Akamatsu Corporation?
That'd be a cute reference.
Though I suspect they have a reason they went with the name of the Shinto sun goddess for the corporation that rules over an area stuck in an eternal rainstorm. That's at least gotta be intentional irony if nothing else, and you'd lose that if you switched the name. :)
But now you got me wondering what sorts of DR references we might come across in Rain Code. Or... will there be any at all? Maybe Kodaka will feel like he needs a clean break from the thing he's so closely associated with.
But frankly, if Zanki Zero and A.I. The Somnium Files can reference Danganronpa so blatantly, it stands to reason that the new Kodaka title should definitely drop at least SOME hints.

Currently thinking about this comic-turned-writing about Makoto and the Previous CEO I made, and I want to share some thoughts I have when I made this.
In the comic form of this writing I had in my head, Makoto stays at the left side of the comic while the Previous CEO stays at the ride side.
Clearly, there isn't a lot of words in its writing form. Since I originally envisioned this as a comic, I didn't want to clutter the main words I want to convey with it by adding needless lines.
I like to think that the Previous CEO was the first one to see who Makoto truly is behind that mask. However, it's left up to interpretation whether or not the Previous CEO recognized his face.
What is more important after is
Makoto closing his eyes near the Previous CEO while he can fully see that Makoto had his guard down is supposed to signify that Makoto trusts him.
It also serves as a contrast to whenever Makoto had his eyes closed during his confrontation with Yuma- that he was in turmoil. Before he opened his eyes to Yuma and saw Yuma for who he truly is.
In one case, he was at peace closing his eyes and deluding himself that everything is right when the CEO was at his side. But on another, he could no longer close his eyes peacefully and delude himself that everything was right until he was able to confront the truth and stare directly at his mirror- his original.
We know that apparently, Makoto and the Previous CEO used to drink together, so I wanted to give focus on that by signifying how it made them become close to one another and eventually joining together.
(I like to think that the CEO, knowing full well that Makoto is cautious, purposefully slushed himself so he would feel more safer at divulging information about himself because, well, the CEO is drunk ain't he? It's not like he would remember. It's weird I know, but nothing says trusting yourself to someone near you than getting slushed to the face)
Also, hee hoo, pact mentioned :D
Even if the two of them agreed, the two of them have different reasons to why they agreed. For the Previous CEO, what's more important for him is Amaterasu Corporation, putting Makoto in charge would help with that. While for Makoto, what's more important to him is Kanai Ward which his position as the new CEO of Amaterasu Corporation would help with.
"For Kanai ward" being repeated three times in this drabble while "For Amaterasu Corporation" only being said once is supposed to signify how Makoto has lived for three years while the Previous CEO was only there for one year in his life.
His echoing words "For Kanai Ward" no longer having a response and partner compared to than before.
In this scene, no longer does Makoto sit at the left side of the room, but rather at the right side of the room now.
The left side of the room is left vacant. Empty, Without another person there to talk to.
Empty, Without another glass to pour wine into.
CEO. Makoto Kagutsuchi.
The three words that describe him. Now.
Yet a period divides Makoto Kagutsuchi from the CEO.
He is Makoto Kagusutchi, the CEO of Amaterasu Corporation now.
Yet why does a period divide him?
#may asher rambles#rain code#rain code spoilers#makoto kagutsuchi#the previous ceo#something something how Makoto sat at the left side of the screen while he talked to Yuma during their first meeting acting like himself#something something how Makoto gazed at Kanai Ward at the right side of the screen while he talked about Amaterasu Corporation to Yuma#my apologies if this is a mess#My brain is still so full of thoughts about them#oh previous ceo the thought of your relationship with makoto however delusion they may be captivates me

Spoilers for Master Detective Archives: Rain Code
I find it funny how Amaterasu is technically the Homunculi’s/Kanai Ward’s sun since the real sun is their natural weakness.
But also sweet how Makoto wanted to be his own sun and guardian to Kanai Ward and it’s people.

Half and Half: Part 3
Prev / Next Title and Prologue
Part 3 of Half & Half is done! (actually its been done a while but I gave it some time) Anyway have some more of the silly little guys being sick roomies together~
Bedhead: The following morning Yuma and Makoto woke up and both their hair was a mess. They proceed to tease each other about it before they laugh and break into a little cough fit, showing that they weren’t any better the next day. But that doesn’t stop them from getting up and getting ready for the day regardless.
Cozy: Yuma puts on the blanket robe he chose to wear the day before noticing how comfortable it is. Makoto takes pride as the robe was an Amaterasu Corporation product. He couldn’t help but try to advertise it out of habit, but he goes a little too far with it. You probably shouldn’t advertise something while you have a cold.
I feel like after Makoto tried to talk to Yuma about Ama-Pal in the lab I think it would be funny if he developed a habit to advertise products of his company. He looked like he had a lot of fun with it and wanted to keep going before Yuma was like “can we go back to finding the Doctor now?” Dammit Yuma let him cook xD
Just a note: Makoto’s silliness and cuteness is going to be pretty amplified in this story. (it may as well be an au) literally cartoon levels of humor
Let them have some fun on their time off
Also their robes and pjs are inverted.
I love inverted colors between twins :3

New Rain Code OC just dropped, (info subject to change!)
Name: Soul Eis
Forensic Forte: Memory Perception
Soul can peer into the memories of people from a first person perspective. Soul can also view the dead’s memories, but the amount of time he can view decreases the longer the victim has been dead ; 24 hours after death, Soul can no longer view the memories. Soul has to physically touch the person to see their memories, even if it's just a bump in the shoulder or a poke on the cheek (he has to consciously choose someone to see their memories).
About:
Part of a group of rogue master detectives who are ex-members of the WDO. All of them have either left of their own accord or have been kicked out.
Soul left the organization due to not agreeing with their principles or how they operate.
The ex-members of the WDO end up joining a detective agency affiliated with Amaterasu Corporation (hence why the badge is a combo of the WDO and Amaterasu logos)
The agency is there so that Amaterasu can say “we don’t need the WDO’s detectives, we have our own capable ones.
Soul doesn’t necessarily agree with Amaterasu’s principles either, but says he would rather perish than be associated with the WDO.
Childhood friends with Luna Luckytune
Was still on the quiet side as a child, but was more optimistic. He has since grown jaded and anti-social. Does have a sense of care for his other members however.
Will I actually bother drawing all of the ex-WDO detectives....we'll see...
#rain code oc#raincode oc#rain code#Soul Eis#I need to think of name for the Amaterasu-affiliated detective agency hmmm#still working out the details for them but#basically these detectives are encouraged to use their fortes to 'solve' cases underhandedly#such as manipulating evidence to favor an outcome.#ignore the retconning#his design took way longer than Luna's...and im still not 100% with it#idk why I wrote the 's' in Eis like that#the sprites are kinda wonky eek#roseseatea art

Yuma Month Day 13: What If
Now I had a really cool idea for this prompt! What if during chapter 0, Fake Zilch contacted Yomi via the intercom in Car 3 to tell him about the amnesiac detective and Yomi decides that instead of framing him, to use him and make him think he's actually an employee for Amaterasu Corporation. For a detective to actually stand in the way of his own people while never knowing the truth?
I'll explain under a read more but it is fun!
So Chapter 0 would happen the same except when Yuma wakes up and after talking to Shinigami, Yuma exits and Zilch speaks to Yuma, saying the job is done. Yuma would be confused when fake Zilch explains they're both Amaterasu spies and they needed to kill the others. Yuma is horrified but Zilch says that it's unfortunate he forgot and had to drug him too. They're done now though so he'll take him home and trigger his memories to come back.
Now Yuma doesn't fully believe him, he knows something is going on. Shinigami tells him to not speak out loud and to go along for now. Yuma tries to ask Shinigami about his past but she can't because of the rules of the contract. Her hands are tied and she doesn't know what she can do. She also doesn't open the mystery labyrinth as killing fake Zilch will put Yuma in danger, but she vows to reap his soul later.
Yuma arrives in Kanai Ward and Zilch informs Swank what is going on. Swank just goes along with it and Zilch takes Yuma to Yomi. They see Yakou, but Zilch just tells him that the situation ended in a tragic accident. Yakou tries to talk to Yuma but he is taken away before they can.
When Yuma is brought to Yomi, the leader is distraught that one of his top employees can't remember who he is. He gives Yuma an Amaterasu handbook to help trigger memories (yeah right!) and says he'll shadow fake Zilch and other Peacekeeper higher ups on cases and keep order. Yuma bows and says he will, not using the honorific -sama, which Yomi corrects him and says if he slips too much he may have to disappear as well. Yuma is freaked but tries to stay calm.
Zilch gives him standard uniforms that higher ranked Peacekeepers have and introduces him to Seth, Guillaume and Dominic. The others follow the lie and say they'll remind him of his old self.
Yuma and Shinigami make a deal to bring down the company from the inside, using this situation to their advantage.
The game would then follow the same things as before. Yuma would shadow Seth for the Nail Man case at the Clocktower and run into Halara (Who would still end up on the case somehow). They would be more hostile to him but Yuma would try and help them investigate behind the Peacekeepers backs. Same with the other cases in the game.
Yuma would also meet Kurumi who informs him as Kanai Ward's informant that he is not a peacekeeper that he has been led to believe. Yuma doesn't want to speak in case he is bugged but the two start trading in information via secret letters which they keep coded so only they can understand. Kurumi also lets the NDA know of this arrangement so they can work together on cases when their paths do intersect. Yuma hides these letters in his handbook which he keeps on him at all times.
Yuma would get a lot better at lying early on and be resourceful. Shinigami would also reap fake Zilch which would cause Yomi to freak out as his top advisor is gone.
Makoto would also try and get time alone with Yuma somehow and threaten him as he believes his double is now helping Yomi. Yuma however would somehow tell him that he despises Yomi and wants to see his downfall, he is just trying to navigate the situation he's found himself in and stay alive. Makoto still doesn't trust him but the two have an uneasy alliance.
Yuma would probably finally be caught by Yomi in Chapter 4, where it's shown that Yuma has been helping the detectives in the lab, as he's the one who got them inside and finding some of his letters. Yakou would probably protect Yuma as he is shot by Yomi and they manage to barely escape. Yuma would blame himself but would still solve the case. When Yomi is ousted the rest of the NDA would take Yuma back to the submarine where they reveal he was a trainee this whole time. Yuma would be relieved he followed his gut but still blames himself for Yakou's death.
Makoto would then knock them all out and then it would be the same ending probably where Makoto reveals Yuma's real identity.
It's not perfect but I just love this idea of Yomi using Yuma but Yuma still tricking him from inside the company.

Unnamed Ghost Hunter Agency AU
Based on Lockwood & Co (Spoilers for some plot elements)
Fifty years ago, the world became infested by ghosts and demons that would haunt the entire world and bring harm and even death to the living, leaving everyone trapped in fears. At the same time, a small percentage of people were granted paranormal power of the spirits and psychic, allowing them to interact with the ghosts and send them back to the spirit realm. An organization is formed called the World Ghost Hunter Organization (not creative I know) to train people with even the simplest psychic power in seeing the spirit realm into Ghost Hunters and defeat the ghosts and hopefully one day free the world from the spirits.
In the present day, a young man named Yuma Kokohead, a former Ghost Hunter from the WGHO, is heading into Kanai Ward, one of the most haunted cities, if not areas, in the world, to the point it had to be isolated from the rest of the world. But there are rumors that because of having to rely on themselves, the city’s population, especially Amaterasu Corporation, developed and discovered ways to handle the ghosts. Eventually becoming a source of resources for the world to handle ghosts. Yuma is traveling over to the city in the hope he could find a way to heal his twin brother from a ghost-lock. But he needs to be able to sustain himself while staying in the city, and unfortunately can’t get a job because he is an outsider to the city. Luckily, he finds one through an independent ghost hunting agency called the Nocturnal Ghost Hunting Agency, run by Chief Yakou and misfit members of the WGHO, and now must bring back his ghost hunting skills to help protect Kanai Ward from the ghosts while finding a way to save Makoto (and uncover the dark secrets of Kanai Ward along the way).

Here it is, the fic I wrote for @neondownpourzine !
I had the honor of working with the talented @maximax-x !
The art they did for both this fic and the Zine in general is absolutely amazing and I highly recommend checking out the rest of their beautiful creations, as well as the amazing art and fics that were made by the rest of the contributors!
At first everything seemed fine, it was as normal as it could be. Well, at least, as normal as it could be for the two of them.
Yomi’s emotional outbursts and Martina’s submissiveness towards him were both things that had become all too common behind closed doors at Amaterasu Corporation. The way they act around each other had become common knowledge within the confines of the company.
Currently, there isn’t a single Peacekeeper who would look upon scenes like the one in front of me with even the slightest bit of surprise. No, the only thing most of us felt while being forced to witness such acts was pure disgust, alongside the slight feeling of neutrality that most of us had acquired after having witnessed such things so often.
Which is exactly what I felt as I stared at the two of them in front of that enormous screen displaying the – at least to Yomi – amusing destruction of the hideout of the Nocturnal Detective Agency as well as a large amount of the surrounding area. All the while, he had been using the ever-so-obedient Martina as a chair.
Then, within mere seconds, like a switch had been flipped, Martina lay on the cold, hard floor. The front of Yomi’s booth lodged into her abdomen as he continued to berate her, both physically and verbally. It was almost frightening just how fast his once calm exterior had transformed into one of pure rage.
She didn't even bother protecting her head, almost like she was fully convinced that he just wouldn’t kick her there. No matter what, even when he had no qualms harming any other part of her, he for some reason just wouldn't kick her there. And, surprisingly, she had been correct.
From the corner of my eyes, I looked over at the Peacekeeper who had been standing at the other side of the door. I didn't dare move my head even the slightest, or any part of my body for that matter. My posture had to be perfect. If not, I don't even want to know what Yomi would do to me if he were to notice.
Fear of imperfection has been drilled into us from the moment we first joined Amaterasu. To the public, we have to appear like an unwavering force of power. People should feel fear at just the thought of going against us, which could only be achieved if we walked around like perfectly programmed law-abiding robots.
Though, that didn't stop the Peacekeeper next to me from shaking intensely as he stared at the sight in front of us.
With grace, Martina had lifted herself up from the ground, looking as composed as ever, with not a single thing out of place. All the while, Yomi had quickly reverted back to the calm state he had been in before, albeit with a more devious smile now occupying his face as he started talking once more.
I could hardly hear any of what Yomi was saying to her as I was trying my hardest to block out the sounds of what was happening in front of me. Though, sadly, that didn't stop certain parts of their mostly one-sided conversation from reaching my ears.
Martina listened as calmly as she always would as he began to go on about some random machine that was currently being developed. I found this a bit odd, but it wasn't all too out of the ordinary, despite what had transpired just moments ago. And it seems that Martina thought so as well. Well, at first, at least.
After he had finished speaking, she stayed quiet for just a second before her once-calm eyes turned wide from disbelief as his words finally sank in. Instantly, that calm look on her face faltered completely, as fear now showed clearly on her face.
Before she even had the chance to react, quickly, the two Peacekeepers that had been standing closer to them surrounded Martina and grabbed hold of her tightly.
Despite her intelligence and quick-witted nature, Martina seemed to have succumbed to her fear, as all she could do was continue listening to the Director's calmly-spoken words. All the while, both her and the two Peacekeepers that held her within their grasp were trembling.
What followed was something that I could only describe as a nightmare for everyone that had the misfortune of having been forced to be involved in such a wretched display of cruelty.
The sound of my frantically-beating heart was almost as loud as Martina's cries as she desperately called out to him as they dragged her away. Screaming his name until her voice went hoarse, yet he made not even the slightest effort to look back at her. He just stood there completely motionless, with his back turned.
As they moved past me to exit the room, I caught a glimpse of her expression. It was a horrid sight that I will never be able to forget. Her tear-filled eyes reflected all the years they've spent together being thrown away like just another piece of disposable garbage.
Even after they had long since exited the room, her cries could still be heard echoing through the halls. It seems that, despite everything that had just transpired, she still believed that the sound of her despair-filled pleas would somehow be able to bring him back to his senses. That the sound of her broken voice reaching out to him would make a part of him regret everything and put an end to this madness.
Those screams will continue to haunt me for years to come.
After what felt like an eternity of endless torment, she had finally been dragged out of earshot, and that's when he finally decided to move again. Turning around to face the doorway that she had been dragged through with a blank expression, though within less than a second, it had been replaced by a smile so innocent and calm that it was almost frightening.
Yomi spoke about finding the corpses of the blown up detectives to no one in particular with childlike excitement, before proceeding to calmly walk out of the room and down the dark hallway where the remains of his action still lingered. Leaving me and the only other Peacekeeper that was still in the room alone with the aftermath of what had just happened.
And although there were two of us, at the moment, it felt like I was completely alone, with just my rapidly-racing thoughts to keep me company.
‘What's love?’ Those words, and the cold, emotionless tone they had been spoken in, still lingered clearly in my mind.
Despite everything, I truly believed that what Yomi felt towards Martina was what could only be described as love. Or, at least, whatever could be considered as love to such twisted people as the two of them.
In the many moments I would see them so close to each other, his hands all over her as he admired her with such a soft expression on his face, I always thought that, despite all of the abuse, those displays of affection were out of genuine care towards her.
Even while knowing just how deranged Yomi was, there was always something about the way they'd look at each other that stopped me from ever even considering that those displays of affection could ever be fake.
But as the sound of Martina's screams still continues to ring loudly in my ears, I finally realize just how wrong I truly had been about the Director's ‘love’ for the now Ex-Vise Director.
But still. Even though he made it look like it, had it, had it really been that easy for him to throw away years of emotions and memories just like that? Was it really that easy for him to suddenly view his once-beloved right hand as just another useless tool used to satiate his madness?
Or did he truly never love her at all?

Do you think Makoto would still act like a detective at some point?
Still acting like a detective? Look, we can explore some situations where he could activate an investigative mode. Let's talk about nerdy things about Makoto together XD.
Tw: spoilers alert, big text.
Like, He definitely has the detective essence in his mind, because of his original, but he doesn't need to act like a detective anymore, because he's the CEO of an corporation and he's his own person now.
He can use all this inherited intelligence to build projects for his company, like, he was technically using this ability to do bad things in the name of love for Kanai Ward, After the main game, he can try new things to make the world a better place for his people, such as asking for forgiveness for what he did.
Even though he's always busy with project management, He is always watching everyone, knowing about all of them, You can imagine that he would be studying hidden human behavior. He has his own research to explore without it having to be just about Kanai Ward and Amaterasu.
He also openly say in chapter 4 he trusts machines more than humans. That humans can betray easily. (Probably something from his past as an experiment), This is also a clue that he would still have trust issues in post game AUs. As a celebrity, he is clearly the target of many enemies from outside who seek power and fame, so they would probably already try to kill him. I still like to imagine Martina and Seth protecting him, As much as Makoto can defend himself with weapons and machines in his favor.
Would you agree that he could create machines too and understand programming in an easy way? As a computer science student, I see this a lot lately, What kind of programming language did he use to make the Rain Machine work? I like to put my knowledge into favorite characters and my OCs, I hope it doesn't bother you. I was also thinking of a silly story of him creating an Idol for Kanai Ward, an anime girl Idol, based on himself or some famous figure like Hatsune Miku. He would always update her voice database, and her shows would be in holograms, or he would manage to create a physical robotic body for her using Amaterasu's technology. The reason for this project is probably to give the people of the city some fun and entertainment.
Also, she could be as his virtual daughter.
He also loves to talk about melons, probably has a melon plantation. So, it's easy to think that he would also be doing research on medicines using plants. I think it's a healthy way to take care of his health and the health of others he loves. This guy must love talking about botany.
Mmmm, what other projects do you think he'd be doing? The Idol project is just a silly story, and the medicinal plant project is a headcanon that I really liked.
As to what kind of detective he would be, he would definitely be an corporate detective. The term “corporate detective” refers to professionals who specialize in investigating and resolving issues within the corporate environment, such as fraud, industrial espionage, unfair competition, and other illicit activities that may compromise the integrity and security of an organization.
These professionals play a crucial role in protecting and maintaining the integrity of companies, using specialized skills and a keen sense of ethics to navigate the complexities of the modern business environment.
His investigative side would serve to solve problems within the company. But, I also like to imagine that he has a classic murder detective side, like Halara, he would know who the culprit of the case is with little information, clues, and witnesses, But he would let the newbies figure it out first, he could act like a mysterious person, dropping hints here and there, and after the newbie got the answer right, he would congratulate them. Maybe he would have moments where he would get irritated if the newbie showed signs of giving up.
He would probably intervene in some discussion and put everyone on the right track. Maybe he would have moments where he might act cold, but I think would be rude to the culprit, because even if the killer had their justifications, he would still be cold to them, and nothing would save their from punishment. The fact that he doesn't care about the criminals on death row and just sees them as ingredients for meatballs in the game only reinforces this thought: he doesn't care about the killers.
I would also find it interesting that he acted like mentor, he would always be in the shadows, observing the actions of the newbies from a long distance, and would intervene if this is necessary. Do you think he would be a good ally? He would have plenty of resources to help new characters in some new story. (COUGH COUGH, like a future sequel, COUGH COUGH) Think about it: he being obsessed with fixing every mistake made.
Wow, I think I said too much, sorry, I hope I answered your question, Anon, sorry guys, I think I get completely nerdy when I start talking about stuff about a favorite character. I love sharing my ideas with other fans who like the character too, I hope this isn't boring, I can probably do this more often with others. >.<
Here's a silly edit of Makoto smiling and winking at you, hope you have a good day.
It's just ideas and my way of thinking about him, it's okay if you don't agree with everything I wrote here.

hiii thank you so much for asking <333 they also have swapped with all of the peacekeepers, so they work under yuma for amaterasu. that means the peacekeepers also become detectives! not sure on whether or not ill draw all that but we'll see ^w^ also- the rest of the cast does not swap. it's just the NDA and the peacekeepers. makoto plays the same role, and also the side characters such as victims and culprits. except chapter 4. i haven't fully formed my ideas about how chapter 4 turns out, since in this au, huesca is already dead.
i actually have a (really long) detailed post about the AU and everyone's roles, so if you're curious about it you can check it out here! the short version is that the roleswaps go like this:
halara <--> swank
desuhiko <--> guillaume
fubuki <--> dominic
vivia <--> seth
and here's some bonus info on them:
halara, while not as straightforward as swank about their desire for money, would still insist on yomi's arrest while also trying to swindle money out of him. they're just as cool and intimidating as always, and they are honestly a really cruel tutorial enemy lmao i think their arguments would be hard to counter. halara's mystery phantom would have a lot of gambling aesthetics to it, like a fancy blackjack dealer that's decorated with dominoes and playing cards and they also look like a member of the band Kiss attending a pride parade. yknow?
vivia does largely the same as seth does: covering up the truth for his personal benefit. he facilitates funds from the church under yuma's command and is genuinely pretty distraught when yuma throws him under the bus (in private, yuma would tell him he's being punished for such a sloppy investigation, despite vivia's protests that pursuing and exposing the truth would only hurt their funds and image). as an antagonist, vivia has a running bit where, instead of being too quiet to hear and needing a peacekeeper with a megaphone, he speaks in riddles and metaphors, sees no one understands him, and sighs heavily before just saying it straightforward lol. his mystery phantom would resemble a shambling yet haunting corpse. with disco rainbow lights on it.
desuhiko and fubuki work as a pair, however this time, unlike dominic, fubuki talks (side note: in this AU, dominic actually does talk. though, to keep the bit going, i think his first gumshoe gab with yomi would be yomi trying to spark up a conversation and dominic just silently glaring at him clearly wishing he'd go away. then yomi senses his killing intent and is like okay damn ill leave. martinagami then says they grew closer from that lmao. anyway.). desuhiko and fubuki have a comedy duo act dynamic where fubuki says something ridiculous and desuhiko plays the "straightman" role (not the sexuality, the comedy term) and it's lovely. their mystery phantoms would make them appear like a pair of traveling performers (at a pride parade), combining desuhiko's love for the stage and fubuki's love for adventure.
and thank you again for asking i love rambling about my aus!!
