since yuma just innately understands how to pilot a boat in chapter 3 even with amnesia i believe that number one knows how to drive practically every vehicle. he can hotwire a car in seconds and drive that bad boy like it's his business. he knows a speedboat like the back of his hand. submarine? sure. motorcycle? easy. k2 black panther battle tank? absolutely.

the only thing he cant pilot is an airplane. i dont have a deep reason for this other than i think it'd be really funny if he had massive airplane anxiety

my niche little zilch (the real one not the hitman) headcanon is that he isn't a vegan and in fact even encourages using animal products. he'd ramble about things like eating honey (because beekeepers do excellent work and bees are the only example of unionized domestication) and using wool, leather and fur (because they result in high quality products that last a long time and are infinitely better for the environment than clothes made of microplastics) and i know him owning a fur coat is a good hint at the hitman's betrayal because "whyyy would an environmentalist own a fur coat" but hear me out: it is the original zilch's coat that he's had for years made from an animal he'd befriended but it long passed and it's a memento. idk i just like the idea of him believing firmly in the harmony of humans and nature and how humans are a part of nature as well and animals eat each other and use each other all the time and that isn't a bad thing in his eyes. as long as it's done with respect for the life that is lost. what does bother him is mistreatment of livestock tho he'll get pissed about that. i think that sort of outlook is how he developed his forte bc of having a deep understanding of how animals are. does anyone see my vision

You know what's evil? Yakou's bed. That man is 6 feet tall he can't spread out on that thing,he has to curl up to be comfortable or his feet will dangle over the side of the bed or he'll hit that lil wall there. His back must be so sore in the morning but I bet if you did give him a normal bed he'd still curl up in cause he's so used to how small his one is. Do....Do you guys ever think about the fact that Yakou knows how to fix/maintain a submarine? Because I do and I remember that he quickly sprung into action when Halara mentioned that the sub was tilting a bit(or something) and I now just cannot stop thinking about him coming out of the door in the kitchen (that probably leads to the rest of the sub)wearing a black tanktop,some old motor oil stained pants, just covered in grease,his hair pulled back and out of his face with a hairband,wiping his hands off on an old rag and letting the others know that he just finished repairing something in the ship and he's gonna hop in the shower for a minute I Just....I am not normal about this man dear god....

skill issue on the previous anon's part because i personally think vivia is an interesting character. he's one of the only master detectives to go through a substantial character arc- in both his dlc and chapter 4. he's one of the biggest narrative foils to yuma other than makoto, because of the way they oppose each other when it comes to revealing harsh truths. hell, vivia's arc is parallel to makoto's, because both of them choose to hide the truth for the sake of maintaining a fragile and faulty sense of peace. he's non-confrontational to a fault, and he makes long-winded flowery metaphors to be evasive whenever he doesnt wanna talk about something. his powers are more of a curse than a blessing to him, driving him to suicidal ideation. he grew up neglected by his parents and raised alongside eight brothers, so desperate for attention that he liked being punished. he was so willing to protect the honor and memory of chief yakou that he was willing to kill a friend for it. all of these things are pretty compelling to me and that's not even everything.

also... "you can't put him into memey situations"? open your mind, my friend! he may be a tragic character but there is a very thin line between tragedy and comedy! if it's OOC for him to willingly end up in a situation, just have an outside force drag him into it. or have the situation come to him because of his unwillingness to budge.

look at how many smiling sprites he has! look at how many one-off jokes he makes in his canon dialogue! look at how much he teases yuma! despite everything, vivia is not a character that's devoid of whimsy.

im not saying that everyone has to like vivia or find him interesting. "interesting" is subjective and he's not even my favorite character. but i think a great deal of love was put into his writing and it shows. i promise yall he has a lot more going for him than just being a pretty looking emo boy. he's just not as straightforward about himself as the rest of the cast... which is also pretty true to his character

she's a massive detective fujoshi AND fudanshi. shipped johnlock obsessively before moving onto WDO rpf

before the blank week she was the top master detective x reader author on wattpad and ao3 with tons of fics that are scarily in character

REGULARLY created and posted fancams and edits featuring her favorite WDO master detectives

she draws a lot of detective yaoi and yuri but she's not confident enough in her art to post those online

when the blank week occurred, all of her WDO stan account oomfies wondered what the hell happened to her but still tried to keep the fandom afloat

true crime girlie for sure. i dont need to elaborate

before kanai ward's isolation, she had an entire blog dedicated to trying to figure out number one's identity. before he ever went to kanai ward, number one considered her to be one of his biggest ops. criminal syndicates were using her damn blog to find and try to kill him. but she's just an innocent high schooler so he left her alone. he cannot for the life of him figure out how she's finding such scarily accurate yet slightly off information about him

she knows that yuma has been killing the culprits throughout the game but has decided that only makes him more attractive

after kanai ward opened up to the world first thing she did was update her in-progress multichapter slowburn 100k+ words halara nightmare x reader fic with an author's note that says "sorry for the late update, everyone! my city was completely isolated thanks to a government conspiracy, so i had no internet connection :((( anyway, i've had plenty of time to finish this fic and several others, so be ready for some regular updates! ^w^" and then the fic comments AND the WDO stan social media go absolutely crazy

postgame kokowendy is incredibly one-sided on kurumi's part because once yuma gets his number one memories back, he is... flattered about her obsessiveness but also Very much put off by it. he still cares about her a lot though. i dont even ship kokowendy but im deeply enamored with her having a one-sided fan crush. she should be thriving as a cringey teenage girl. as god intended.

i dont want to bring up yuma age discourse again but it's important to my main point so first I'm gonna say before you get your pitchforks up that i do think yuma is a grown ass man. his behavior, identity, and oddly deep voice all point to that being the case. anyone paying close attention knows he's at least legal drinking age, so go ahead and sexualize that king to your heart's content.

but we don't have to pretend that this man doesn't look 12. yes, babyfaced adults exist, and I'm one of them, but real people have a lot less power over their babyface than a character designer. every aspect of yuma's design was drawn on purpose. komatsuzaki-san could've made yuma taller, or given him pants instead of shorts, or given him different facial proportions or literally any other haircut.

no matter which way you slice it, yuma has a lot of design aspects that invoke the idea of a young boy. stand him next to chilchuck tims from dungeon meshi and any outsider would think they're around the same elementary to middle school level age range. but that's fine. chilchuck's design has a reason to it. so what's yuma's reason? why did komatsuzaki-san make this choice?

i personally think it's for two reasons. the first one is simple: he needs to look like an inexperienced trainee. if he looked like yakou, for example, players wouldn't buy it as easily and might catch on to the number one plot twist sooner.

the second reason is that it fits the themes of the game. the main message of rain code is about the importance of depending on others, of not shouldering your burdens alone. yuma almost never gets out of a situation without the help of someone else, so as annoying as the constant dues ex machinas can be, i think there's a point to it. number one works alone, and yet everything about him is built for depending on others. he's small, and frail, and his forte literally does not work without another person. and working against that very nature is what leads to his downfall, as we see with makoto.

so what better way to represent someone who needs to depend on others than to make them look like a child?

... or maybe they just wanted to make him look cute. i'm not in komatsuzaki-san's head, so who knows lol
