ik u sent this a few weeks ago but I still wanted to answer this.

all in all i think the conversation is a bit deeper than solely seeing idols in a sexual light and has a bit more to do with leaning on ethics and the understanding of humans, in my opinion.

the topic of debuting minors has been hot discussion for several years, and i feel as though the topic has resurfaced heavily the last few years especially because of the sexualization and overworking of minors, and as well as the debut ages of lots of idols not only throughout the generations of kpop but especially within the 4th and 5th gen groups. i also think the topic resurfaces bc of that the fact that some labels tend to go after those who are younger rather than those who are older—and very often times, are a lot more talented.

a lot of idols who debuted as teenagers tend to come forth and say that they wish that they had more time to be not only a child, but a person. lots of idols get older and speak about the crazy hardships they had to go through in order to become an idol—think of the crazy diets (that children/teens should not go through for developmental purposes) and the long practices and the shaming/abuse, etc etc. think about the idols born in the 2000s who more than likely have long covid… i could also mention idols lacking proper education, as well as common knowledge and sense via their actions. i think these are reasons why a lot of people aren’t into groups with minors in them/debuting minors.

still, almost every single kpop group that exists has had at least one minor during time of debut—debuting minors is integrated in the culture of kpop.

and not 2 b a hater i think hybe specifically has almost increased the prevalence of the overworking and sexualization of minors**. but this is not to say that other labels have not or still do not contribute to this—because boy oh boy, so many labels are going to hell and lee sm will be the first to answer to god. I just personally think it's very prevalent right now within the hybe sphere given how many groups they currently have with minors in them—but just my opinion.

**thinking about how with enha, i feel like niki especially has been sexualized heavily both by fans but also due to the groups image/concept. also wanting to highlight le sserafim having questionable choreography despite having a minor(s) in the group. or min heejin and the new jeans roll out (that lolita situation)

because of these reasons, it's honestly made me put off by groups with minors in them. but i cannot be hypocritical because i liked enha’s music—but imma b so real; i wasn’t paying fr attention to the members born after 2002. i also can’t b hypocritical bc i like nmixx's music (and have liked songs by other groups with minors) but i haven't engaged in any of their non musical content since they debuted.

that being said i think recently, the girls of nmixx did a little variety show about the things they wish they got to do as children instead of training to be an idol. and just thinking about that made me so upset for the idols who debuted as kids and the kids who are now debuting as idols. which frames back to the whole 'idols wishing they got experience life' ideal.

there’s so many routes to follow when discussing this topic and naturally and understandably people get upset discussing this. idk bro i do have many opinions on this but like….idk…

the only word i can think of to describe heeseung is just so chill, he just gives me such a childhood best friend vibe. he’s someone you can always trust and be yourself with. all the members have agreed that when they have worries, he’s their go-to person to let things out and vent to. being the youngest in his family, i can see that hee has a very big childish and silly side that he has begun to show a lot more as he’s gotten more comfortable (showing off his woody and buzz light year toy on live, absolutely screaming his lungs out in the karaoke eps, constantly playing his video games even in his envlog, esp w niki). and in a relationship, heeseung would still be very casual and easygoing, except unlike around most other people, he’d let his playful side overtake his mature side that he has to put up as the oldest member with his s/o much more often. he would be quite protective, and i think the highlights of his relationship for him would be whenever he could make his partner smile or even better, laugh.

to me jake is such a bubble of joy. he has said he’s very shy and scared or being judged, and i’ve definitely noticed this in the way he usually lets the other members take the spotlight and ends up laughing in the background more than telling the jokes on variety shows/interviews. but on enoclock and just when he’s with his members, he’s so smiley and talkative <3 he’s very easygoing and so easy to get along with, jungwon (and niki agreed with this i think) said on enhypen&hi that out of all his hyungs, jake is the most easy to talk to (when sunghoon got jealous about this i was giggling im sorry) and it really shows to me! i think it’s so beautiful how jake tries to be a father figure but also a playmate for niki since he kind of missed his childhood, it goes to show how much he cares about his members in his own, perhaps overlooked way. if he had a lover, at first he’d be very shy and hard to break out of his shell, but after a while he’d let himself show and be very playful and affectionate. he’d be his s/o’s number one supporter in absolutely anything they do, always cheering them on with that boxy grin from the sidelines <3

i could fr talk about sunghoon for hours, he’s so relateable <3. i’m sure most people would have absolutely no shame and full confidence if they looked the way this man does, yet sunghoon is the most shy and humble person. with strangers and in interviews, he almost never talks unless he’s forced to. i’m pretty sure he’s spoken about having trouble socially, and growing up he was put into figure skating because his parents recognised how shy he was and wanted a way for him to meet new people and grow. now that he has a home with enha, you can really see how relaxed and at ease he is with the members. sometimes it’s more subtle, but he’s pretty teasing and rarely shows any affection. i think a big part of his teasing side is to cover up how easily he gets flustered and shy jsdjdjh honestly, i think he’s hilarious and his humor is underrated, just watch some enoclock episodes; he says and does the most random but funny things (i’ll never forget his iconic look in episode 19/20 with the cowboy hat and green glasses, and in iland when he randomly screamed over pyeonyuk 😭) his humor has no specific trail, it’s just out of the blue and that makes it funnier lmao. i think sunghoon puts a lot of faith and trust in his members (sosofun when he straight up left them to deal with the ticket payments 😭, and when he was practicing for mubank he facetimed jungwon to help rehearse), and in a relationship he’d do the same. he’d also be very teasing and playful and wouldn’t show public affection too much, behind closed doors would probably be the highest chance of getting some kisses n’ cuddles from him. he’d try to be the cocky and smug one in the relationship, but if his partner is brave enough to not start immediately blushing and fight back, you can corner him easily 💀

my ball of sunshine.. sunoo is for real a best friend everyone would die for. he’ll always laugh at your jokes, he always brightens the mood like the life of the party he is. i dont need any examples for everyone to know this boy’s absolutely hilarious and so sarcastic. my favorite clip of him ever is on his bday vlive when he recieved anonymous letters from the members and he just roasted the shit out of all of them except jungwon, the sarcastic comments??? “wow, i’m so touched i’m gonna cry *pretends to stab eyes*” “seriously, thank you so much *sassy eye roll” god he’s so funny 😭 though he’s almost always the one being teased, you can truly see how much he means to the people around him. the members may be pretty harsh with the teasing all the time but they care about him so much, never forgettinf when they brought a fox plushie around when he was sick, and at the concert when they were all patting him n’ holding him while he was crying :( sunoo’s just someone you can always rely on to be there and make you feel welcomed. in a relationship sunoo would be a bit more serious. he’d always be watching out for his partner’s health and safety, making sure you’re eating and sleepong well. he’d definitely be a bit playful, probably pinching his s/o’s cheeks constantly n’ taking lots of candid shots for his lockscreen <3.

jungwon is very easily described as mature. too mature for his age. heeseung mentioned how he worried for jungwon, and how he was forced to grow up so fast, and i agree that it’s unbelievable how he became the leader of enhypen at 16 years old and has done such an outstanding job at it. he’s patient, humble, and so dependable. he’s always the one starting up the intro conversations for enoclock and other shows, and he always puts up a smile no matter what. honestly, as a new engene i remember being flabbergasted at how he was the second youngest just watching niki be a hyper chaotic menace while won would just be sitting there with the most disapproving 👁. i think jungwon is someone everyone around him secretly really appreciates. the members don’t say sappy stuff to each other a lot, but i’m sure if they were to be given the chance, most of them would want to say something to thank their amazing leader. his personality would 100% become more relaxed and childish with his s/o. won doesn’t get to act his age much at all, so he’d relish in being able to giggle and fool around with his love. his partner would always be reminded of how special they are to him, he isn’t afraid to show a lot of affection as long as there’s privacy. also, i feel like jungwon wouldn’t get jealous very easily, mostly because he just has so much faith and trust in his partner that anyone else doesn’t matter to him.

niki has slowly been getting more and more mature. watching enhypen&hi and other old content makes me a bit sad for some reason. he used to be quite loud and hyper, always playing pranks and screaming in the members ears during lives (💀) but now he’s definitely, if not the quietest member who just adds a few comments every once in a while during lives/shows. while it is a little sad, it’s understandable since he is at a big changing part of life and this is just how he is, and we still love him always for it! niki is very subtle and the least likely to show a hint of affection, but it’s clear he cares deeply for his members and close ones. i think he really admires his hyungs, especially heeseung (it’s adorable seeing how much hee makes him laugh). niki also radiates such a strong aura, he walks with utter confidence and with his head held high. he also isn’t afraid to tease his members despite being the youngest, his sly comments and mocking is part of his love language which is also the same if he was in a relationship. if you’ve read any of my hcs/reactions you know i’m a strong believer niki would be very laid back and teasing with his s/o. but notice he’s only like that with people he’s very close to? yeah, it’s truly his way of showing his love and that he trusts you. the longer his relationship goes, the more he’d open up for physical affection, though he’s still definitely not one for pda.

Chapter 1 : Wilbur

The five rebels sit around the fire. The sky is as dark as the void deep below them. A few of them idly sip from mugs of rum. It was a key point in keeping their spirits up. Maybe Wilbur should have Niki send them a care package.

If you had told Wilbur a year ago that he would leave home in a fit of anger, that would lead him to the best months of his life, he would have laughed. That Wilbur had never dreamed of leaving his brother and father behind in the midst of war.

He doesn’t even remember what he was mad about. Perhaps he felt under appreciated. Or maybe his family was babying him again. Whatever it was, it was enough for him to pack a bag and storm out. Over the next few weeks he made his way across the country, and into Essempi. Once inside, he saw all the injustices the people here had to face, and he decided to stand up against it.

That leads us to now.

The past day had been spend preparing for a fight they know is coming. It had only been a few weeks since Dream was made aware of their presence, yet he was taking action.

Wilbur felt as if he had to do this. Not only for the silly rivalry his family has had against Dream’s for generations, but also for the people around him he had grown to love. Techno would be jealous if he saw him now.

Fundy is almost asleep on Eret’s shoulder, and Tubbo looks dead on his feet. Wilbur can’t help but feel content with the family he’s made for himself here. His arm is wrapped around Tommy in an almost protective way.

Eret yawns, before speaking in a hushed tone, “I’m going to get Fundy in his sleeping bag before I have to carry him.” She stands up, pulling fundy up with her.

There are hushed responses from the remaining three revolutionaries as they make their way into their shared tent.

Wilbur has always had a sharp tongue, but he wouldn’t have gotten this far without the rest of the rebels. Eret supplied them with armor and weapons. Tubbo was an amazing strategist. Fundy, the man he considered a son, could make potions like no other. And Tommy, god Tommy. He was the best soldier Wilbur had ever met. He would go as far as to say he’s better than Techno.

Not to mention that Tommy was their main medic. Wilbur had been through many wars, but he has never seen such an efficient medic. He had seen Tommy in action exactly once. Fundy had mixed a potion wrong and set off an explosion, and Tommy was the only one there at the time.

By the time the rest of them got back, Fundy was fully bandaged up. And the burns wouldn’t even scar. Tommy truly was amazing.

Of course he would never admit that to the boy.

Tommy and Tubbo had begun to engage themselves in a quiet chat. Something about their homelands of Hypixel. Some part of Wilbur wished he knew more about the two’s history. Some days they seemed as if they had known each other for years, and others they acted as complete strangers.

He had met the two exactly 7 months before. Tommy had attempted to pickpocket him, and when caught he proceeded to bite Wilbur. Tubbo bailed him out of the jail cell that stunt had landed him in.

You could tell the two were not from Essempi simply from the way they held themselves. They had a confidence that no one in lower Essempi dared show.

Perhaps thats what attracted Wilbur to them. They were bold, something that was very important for his plans.

Wilbur began to hum a quiet tune, it was a slow one that sounded of hope and melancholy. Tommy leaned closer into him, quietly sipping from his rum. It had been so long since they’ve had a moment to sit down and enjoy each other’s company.

It’s moments like these that Wilbur’s insecurities show their face, and today is no exception. He begins to overthink everything.

Hesitantly he speaks, “Tommy, are we doing the right thing?”. There is no stutter in his words, yet all his anxieties show anyways.

Tommy glances at him from the side, gently closing his eyes. He takes a moment to sort his thoughts before he speaks.

“Yeah, I think so.” He sounds so confident as he says it. Wilbur can’t even begin to understand how he can be so sure of himself.

Yet all of Wilbur’s worries fade. Yeah, they are doing the right thing. If it wasn’t them standing up against Dream, then it would be someone else.

The fire has begun to fade out, engulfing the two revolutionaries in darkness. Wilbur wraps a blanket around himself and Tommy. The two drift into sleep, finding a familiar comfort in each other.

They’re going to be fine, right?

You laugh, blushing slightly at the question as you continue to build your trusty restaurant on the Dream SMP server. You and Dream have been friends for about a year now. You had built a small friendship with George when he introduced the two of you, claiming you to be the 'woman version of Dream'. And it's just skyrocketed from there. You were introduced to Sapnap, who complained at being the last one introduced in the Dream Team. Then Tommy, Tubbo, Wilbur, Niki, and so many more people. It made your head spin, honestly. You jumped from being a semi-small streamer to having a solid fanbase.

"Thank you for the dono, alexiscarter3215." You smile at your facecam, holding up a little heart. The chat goes wild, whizzing past too fast to read but you're sure they're upset that you didn't answer their question.

You had to think about it for a second. You two sure acted like you were dating. Between the constant guest appearances on each other's streams, the twitter flirting, and the Minecraft beds next to each other on his server, you could see why others would be confused. But you weren't dating. You mean, you two did facetime every night and he did know all your secrets. But you don't even know what he looks like yet and....

Shit. You have a fat crush on Dream. The realization that you finally admitted it to yourself making you pause slightly before your phone buzzes, a notification from Twitter. You spot Dream's username and pause your game. "Let's find out what Dream tweeted folks." You tell your stream, planning on ending it soon anyways so this was the perfect segway to wrapping it up. You're thankful for the distraction as you weren't even sure what you were going to say next.

"Okay, okay, we'll meme him." Your fingers expertly move across the screen before you press tweet. "Go blow it up guys." You set your phone down and make your facecam the only thing viewers can see on the stream.

"That'll be the end of my stream for today! Thank you all for joining and remember, don't you dare lose no simp september to block men!" You wave goodbye to your viewers, raiding Sapnap quickly before leaning back in your chair, sighing loudly. You hear another ding from your phone.

You giggle, biting your nails slightly as you wait for his reply. Instead of a text, you get an incoming facetime from him. You decline his call, choosing to keep the bit going. After a few moments, you get a facetime from Sapnap. You answer it, confused as to why he would be calling you out of the blue.

"Answer Dream." Was all he said before hanging up. You laugh loudly, covering your mouth so as to not wake your housemates before deciding to take the bit to twitter.

Dream facetimes you again and you pick up sniffling slightly.

"(Y/N)? Are you okay??? I didn't mean it. I saw your tweet, please... I didn't mean it." He says, concerned as he hides his face from the camera.

You finally break, laughing loudly as you put the camera down so you can hold your stomach, wheezing. "Dream, bud. I was just joking around." You hear him let out a sigh of relief.

"You should come to Florida." He suddenly states, making you choke on the sip of water you were drinking.

"Uh..." You pause for a moment.

"I mean if you're uncomfort-"

"Yes." You cut him off, smiling into the camera brightly. "Yes, I will come to Florida."

The next two weeks were a blur, Dream insisted on paying for your ticket to fly to Florida. And when the boys found out that you were visiting without asking them first, they were super jealous. So jealous, in fact, that they both booked flights that phone call. They were nice enough to give you two days alone with Dream, but only after an awkward amount of silence and a lot of text notifications where you're pretty sure Dream threatened to leave their ass at the airport if they didn't come later. Your knowledge of this only coming from the screenshots George sent you of Dream's threats.

The day of the flight, you were incredibly nervous. You had picked a soft plum colored sweatshirt with simple black leggings and converes. You wanted to dress up a little, but you also knew that you would be uncomfortable the whole flight if you did. Hopefully Dream didn't mind you dressing down for the first in person meeting with him.

You send the text and shut your phone off as you enter the uber. A short 30 minute drive later and you're walking through the airport. You smile slightly, airports seem like they exist in a different dimension all together. You don't judge someone having a drink at 9 a.m. at an airport, because well... they're in an airport. You buy a water once you get past security, drinking it nervously as you wait for your flight to be called.

After a 30 minute wait, your flight is finally called. You finally reach your window seat and check your phone.

You blush at the connotation of his text. He was genuinely excited to see you? When everyone was finally able to leave their seats, you grab your overhead luggage and make your way off the plane. You make your way to the baggage claim and watch the bags intently, waiting for your polka dot bag to show itself.

You feel a tap on your shoulder and you turn around, coming face to face with a very tall blonde man.

"Oh- sorry, am in your way?" You mumble, moving over for them to grab their luggage.

"(Y/N)?" He asks you, his voice unsure and hesitant.

Your eyebrows raise in shock and you turn around again, looking at him closely. You cover your mouth in shock, "D-Dream?" You ask for a moment, unsure if this is real.

He nods, laughing and you throw yourself at him, wrapping your arms around him in a tight hug. Tears start to come to your eyes as he hugs you back tightly. You pull back so that you could look up at his face, but still keeping your arms wrapped around him. "Dream!" You sniffle, your voice a little scratchy from holding back the tears.

"(Y/N)! Are you crying?" He asks, laughing. He is so much more attractive than you could have ever imagined. You sniffle, wiping your nose on your sleeve as you hit his chest lightly.

"Don't make fun of me. This is easily the best thing that has happened in my life." You giggle softly, looking back at the conveyer belt to see your bag. You quickly rush to grab it before it disappears on you.

You turn back to Dream, your bag trailing behind you as you pull it along. Dream grabs your carryon much to your complaints.

"I got it, (Y/N), don't worry." He chuckles, his deep voice making butterflies appear in your stomach. As the two of you walk to his car, chatting excitedly about what the plans are for the week, Dream grabs your free hand, linking your fingers together. Blush creeps up your neck as you pretend nothing is different. Once you reach his car, Dream grabs both of your luggage and puts them in the trunk as you get into the passenger side.

"So, I don't know if you rented a hotel room or something..."He trails off, tapping the steering wheel nervously.

Your eyes widen slightly, you didn't know he wanted you to. "Oh! I, uh, I totally forgot. I can book one right now, though. No biggie." You quickly pull out your phone, panicking a little as you search hotels near me.

Dream pushes your phone away, chuckling. "No, no. (Y/N), you don't have to. I didn't mean it like that. I just wasn't sure if you were comfortable staying at my apartment."

You let out a sigh of relief. "Of course I'm fine with that you dork." You punch his arm softly, "I thought for a second you didn't want me there!" You tease him.

Dream feigns being hurt by your punch before gently grabbing your hand again. "Of course I want you there." He mutters softly.

The words set your stomach aflame as your intestines tie themselves into a knot. He wanted you there.

Hot takes

Ranboos character is incredibly boring, he does nothing for the plot. On top of that he is such a Mary sue since everybody loves him and overall he lacks any enemies. Not to mention the pacing of his current arc is frustratingly long.

Tubbo had a promising character arc during the whole L'manburg president wall arc where he exiled Tommy. I was excited to see him develop only to have him do a full boring circle and go back to square one of being a dynamic yet flat character who's potential is on the bench catching dust alongside Niki's, Fundys, and Erets.

Wilbur shouldn't have been revived at all and Ghostbur being sent on a train in Limbo without having a decent character arc is so disappointing like Jesus they slaughtered my boy-

I'd fucking ascend if Tommy finally had a good character arc were he developed as a character and didn't just reverse it minutes later, especially since the whole story somewhat revolves around Tommy like please at least let him mature a bit.

Kinoko kingdoms residents should have just teamed up with Eret and made a whole cool arc where they access the damage dream did to them and work on making a big ass kingdom like I would love to see it since that group has barely developed throughout all arcs.

Ranboo and Karls lore is basically the equivalent of filler side quest that does nothing to the overall game but is interesting enough to grab your attention initially.

1. agreed, honestly. i think he adds a bit to the story by making other characters get some development (c!tommy and c!sam specially), but narratively he is quite useless. i think his character has a lot of wasted potential (at least for now). i agree 100% that he's a mary sue he is THE mary sue of the server. i do agree with the pacing of his arc as well- it's just very very much only internal conflict and nothing else but there's only so much you can do for development with monologues and introspective moments. it's not necessarily bad and i get that there's people who like it, i'm just not one of them bc it's not the type of narrative i like to watch/read.

2. yeah, that's true. as much as i adore c!tubbo and he's my favorite character with absolutely no doubts about it, he is in need of some development. i do think he gets it from time to time tho- the whole nukes thing, building the interrogation room, getting walls around snowchester -, all of them are signs of who he is and of how everything that has happened to him affects him. that's important. it'd be nice to see it more worked on, but i believe that's something that will come with time (or not. cc!tubbo is not the biggest rp fan tho so i don't even mind)

3. ngl i LOVE c!wilbur being revived that was something i was so excited about bc i feel like he's someone that's gonna make the story move and i want that. i want that so bad. please c!wilbur make things happen. i was extremely upset with ghostbur's demise, tho. ghostbur deserved so much better and the prospect of him just being stuck in the train station forever is really, really disappointing, specially since cc!wilbur has said he has no plans for ghostbur anymore.

4. mmmmmmm hard disagree. i think c!tommy's getting good characters arcs ever since the smp started. cc!tommy is definitely one of the better writers in the smp and i love him for it. the thing is that c!tommy's arcs are a lot of "one step forward, three steps back", which can be really, really frustrating, but still works and sets a coherent pace to his characterisation. i like it, but i get where you're coming from and respect it

5. AGREED ABSOLUTELY AGREED like what was the point......... of starting a whole new kingdom......... if they had, as you said, just joined c!eret, that would've been amazing in so many ways. it'd add so much to plot, like fr. i love that idea and i support it so bad. specially bc kinoko kingdom just feels... empty? i guess? idk i feel like it has no history or depth to it but maybe that's just me. wouldve liked it a lot more if they had merged with someone else- even fucking c!niki, since they just built on top of her city without any regard for her lmaoooo

6. oh, c!karl's story is definitely a sidequest to the main story, but i don't think that's a bad thing. it's mostly irrelevant to the smp and, honestly, id prefer it if they kept it that way with exceptions to like.... add spice? like with the masquerade episode and the egg that was just SO GOOD bc it didnt really matter overall to the story but it gave the egg arc more depth and i think that's super, super cool and i hope they do it more. i like the idea of a little spin-off happening alongside the main story, it's just cool and can add a lot to the smp if done right. for now, i like it, bc i believe it's doing just that, and the whole thing with c!karl and the other side and the inbetween bits is quite interesting and makes the "random character travels through time" sidequest just,,,,, more than it would be without it. about c!ranboo......... mainly yes but also no? like, i think if it's worked on then his lore will stop being just a sidequest. i wish they explored his relations with c!dream more, bc, to me, that was the most interesting and curiosity-inducing part of his lore. everything else feels too disconnected from the important things happening rn. idk tho that might be just me LMAOOOOO

anon first of all im going to say. I’m so sorry. this shit is a mess its So hard to find a ‘start’ to all of this.like fr i didnt like get into this shit from any starting point all i know of the ‘before technoblade’ era is things that have been brought up occasionally. 

but anyways.

the guy thats been here since things really started was wilbur and he has a playlist of the videos here.  he was formerly the main ‘author’ of the plot points and entire direction of the server so his perspective is probably a good one. theres like 13 videos. 

Tommyinnit has also been Around forever alongside wilbur. he’s only had a differing perspective recently that frankly i havent even watched because it get. dark. But his videos are generally more like. sensational and highy energy which isnt my thing.

BUT. THE IDEA OF CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER GETS EVEN MORE FUCKED AFTER THAT.

basically theres So many streamers in this and unless youre god the best idea is to find one or two people and stick with them. characters like tubbo, quackity, eret, fundy, niki nihachu, technoblade, awesamdude, etcetcetcetc. all mainly stream on there. not always plot relevant and sometimes its hard to tell And really hard to keep up with streams. so hard. im dying

the one i got into this thru is technoblade if. if it wasnt obvious. because he’s just funny in general. he has only 3 videos on the dream smp so far and theyre all short, but he does also summarize prior events in each one and actually keeps that shit Tangible. he makes it so obvious he was an english major he Actually knows what consistency is unlike Some people.

but he doesnt post often neither does he stream as often as other people but even his streams are archived on youtube and are somewhat shorter than Some peoples’ streams. also he streams on youtube so they are easier to find and dont get deleted like on twitch.

jaan gives me chaotic lawful energy honestly—he's made his own set of rules and he sticks to them to the letter, but anyone ELSE'S rules? its fair game. jaan and jino both have the potential to be absolutely insane loose cannons (and sometimes ARE if the situation calls for it) but theyre stopped from being complete harbingers of chaos by the fact that jaan is actually oretty rigid and responsible (in his own strange way) and jino is happy-go-lucky cheerful instead of aggressively rebellious. if those two aspects of their personalities did not exist the world would be screwed.

ive never watched a marvel movie of my own volition but i got weirdly involved in the fandom for some reason a couple years ago and because of that i Know Some Stuff. so now im thinking about heli being the ULTIMATE out-of-touch grandpa of the brothers, because hes the one out of all of them thats the most focused on protecting them and making sure they stay hidden, so hes never taken the TIME to get involved with the pop-culture of the time. and then when he actually starts to slow down a little and give himself time to LIVE instead of survive (thanks to sooha), and he starts looking into pop-culture more, he gets ABSURDLY PROUD anytime someone (like shion, because you KNOW shion would be the brother thats absurdly invested in everything pop-culture just because he thinks these modern humans are very entertaining) makes a reference to a meme or movie or something and he actually gets it! so like you said hes just sitting or standing there with this big old content grin on his face and he goes "i understood that reference!" and sooha or jino pat him on the shoulder like "yes u did good job heli" LMAO

KSGFJFBFJ EXACTLY and this could be said by either sooha (who even though she WAS born at the same time as them in our au, was conscious for significantly less of it) or OTHER students, in a hypothetical world where the brothers get less terrified for their lives, sooha makes more friends, and heli admits it wouldnt hurt to have a FEW more harmless teenagers in on the secret as long as they're harmless teenagers sooha trusts. which also brings to mind a situation in which jino befriends sooha's friends, and he's nice to them and likes them and everything because he's jino, but then said friends introduce jino to their grandparents and its all off the wall from there. sooha's human friend just stares at jino happily baking cookies and gossiping with their grandma like "why are you better friends with my grandma than you are with me"

i dont have much more to say about sooha and the boys experiencing normal life as teenagers together so im just gonna agree that yeah i am also crying. a lot. i am crying a lot. although in the hypothetical world where more humans get let in on the secret, the guys and sooha would actually have some Normal Teenagers to teach them how Normal Teenager Life is lived—at which point they could all be like "huh. actually we like the weird way we were doing it, but thanks!"

Disney Unveils Upcoming Film Line Up at the D23 Expo

The Walt Disney Studios—including studio leaders and filmmakers from Lucasfilm, Marvel Studios, Disney live action, Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios—wowed an audience of nearly 7,000 this morning at D23 Expo 2019 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. Alan Horn, co-chairman and chief creative officer, The Walt Disney Studios—joined by Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy, Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, Disney live action’s Sean Bailey, Pixar’s Pete Docter and Disney Animation’s Jennifer Lee—offered guests a captivating look at Disney’s upcoming film slate, including never-before-seen footage and a host of stars, plus a spectacular performance from “Frozen 2” voice cast members Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad.   “You’re not just fans, you’re family,” said Horn to the packed room. “It’s because of you that we keep working so hard to make great movies, and we love D23 Expo because it’s where we can share them with you first.” The presentation included the following highlights.

LUCASFILM President of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy and “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” director/writer/producer J.J. Abrams showcased the riveting conclusion to the Skywalker saga. Kennedy and Abrams revved up the audience, introducing nine stars from the film—many of whom marked this as their first D23 Expo appearance: Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels, Naomi Ackie, Keri Russell, Joonas Suotamo, Kelly Marie Tran and Billy Dee Williams, plus special appearances from R2-D2, BB-8 and the new droid D-O. A brand-new poster was revealed—and gifted to the entire audience. And all were given a look back at the incredible legacy of Star Warsstorytelling and treated to a sneak peek of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” which opens in U.S. theaters on Dec. 20, 2019.

MARVEL STUDIOS Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, kicked off his presentation with a surprise visit from “Black Panther” director and co-writer Ryan Coogler. Together, they revealed that “Black Panther 2” (working title) will hit U.S. theaters on May 6, 2022. Feige segued to next year’s “The Eternals,” inviting cast members from the much-anticipated film to the stage: Richard Madden, who portrays the all-powerful Ikaris; Kumail Nanjiani, who plays cosmic-powered Kingo; Lauren Ridloff, who portrays the super-fast Makkari, the first deaf hero in the MCU; Brian Tyree Henry, who plays the intelligent inventor Phastos; Salma Hayek, who plays the wise and spiritual leader Ajak; Lia McHugh, who portrays the eternally young, old-soul Sprite; Don Lee, who plays the powerful Gilgamesh; and Angelina Jolie, who stars as the fierce warrior Thena. Feige revealed concept art images of each character, and announced three new cast members and their characters: Gemma Chan, who plays humankind-loving Sersi; Kit Harington, who was cast as non-Eternal Dane Whitman, and Barry Keoghan, who portrays aloof loner Druig, and was on hand for the event. Directed by Chloé Zhao, who helmed the critically acclaimed Sundance film “The Rider,” “The Eternals” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 6, 2020. Feige concluded with “Black Widow,” the Cate Shortland-directed first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which hits U.S. theaters on May 1, 2020. Feige shared a pre-recorded greeting featuring stars Scarlett Johansson, who reprises her role of Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow; David Harbour, who was cast as Alexei the Red Guardian; and Florence Pugh, who plays Yelena. Sean Bailey, president, Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, took the audience through upcoming releases for the studio, including next summer’s “Jungle Cruise,” a rousing adventure inspired by the classic theme-park attraction. Star Dwayne Johnson, who plays riverboat captain Frank Wolff, entered Hall D23 aboard an original Jungle Cruise boat, introducing a “trailer” that showed off his character—so much so, that co-star Emily Blunt, who portrays Dr. Lily Houghton, arrived via classic car to share with fans her own “trailer,” offering a different perspective—Bailey laughingly informed Johnson and Blunt that neither trailer was official. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” hits U.S. theaters on July 24, 2020.

Bailey welcomed Angelina Jolie back to the stage to present exclusive footage and details about Disney’s “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,” the exciting follow-up to the hit 2014 film. Maleficent, portrayed by Jolie, and her goddaughter Aurora, played by Elle Fanning, begin to question the complex family ties that bind them as they are pulled in different directions by impending nuptials, unexpected allies and new dark forces at play. Aurora’s imminent marriage to Prince Phillip is cause for celebration—however, Prince Phillip’s mother, Queen Ingrith, portrayed by Michelle Pfeiffer, challenges Maleficent’s role as Aurora���s mother figure. Chiwetel Ejiofor stars as Connal, one of the leaders of the dark fey who becomes Maleficent’s ally. Ejiofor, Pfeiffer and Fanning were all welcomed to the stage by an enthusiastic audience. Directed by Joachim Rønning, who co-helmed 2017’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” arrives in U.S. theaters on Oct. 18, 2019. Bailey next introduced acclaimed filmmaker Niki Caro, director of “Mulan,” the upcoming live-action reimagining of the 1998 classic animated film. Caro expressed to fans her passion for the project, sharing several minutes of footage from the epic adventure inspired by one of China’s fiercest warriors. In Disney’s “Mulan,” which opens in U.S. theaters on March 27, 2020, the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders. So, the eldest daughter of an honored but ailing warrior masquerades as a man, transforming into a heroic warrior to ultimately earn her the respect of a grateful nation and a proud father.

Next up, Bailey shared details about “Cruella,” an all-new feature film starring Emma Stone and Emma Thompson. Stone, who plays the iconic “Cruella,” sent D23 Expo fans a greeting from the London-based set with help from a spotted, four-legged co-star. Fans also got a glimpse of an image of Stone in full costume with Cruella’s signature black-and-white hair. Director Craig Gillespie, who helmed “I, Tonya” and “The Finest Hours,” brings “Cruella” to the big screen on May 28, 2021, with a fresh, 1970s, punk-rock approach. 

PIXAR ANIMATION STUDIOS

Pixar Animation Studios’ Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter guided the audience through Pixar’s upcoming film slate of originals. Docter began with next summer’s release, “Soul,” which he directs. The film journeys from the streets of New York City to the never-before-seen cosmic realms and “The You Seminar,” the fantastical place where we all discover our unique personalities. Producer Dana Murray, co-director/writer Kemp Powers and writer Mike Jones joined Docter on stage, and together they set up the film for the audience and shared a sneak peek. The team revealed members of the voice cast who joined them on stage, including Ahmir Questlove Thompson, Phylicia Rashad, Daveed Diggs, Tina Fey and Jamie Foxx. Foxx lends his voice to Joe Gardner, a middle-school band teacher whose true passion is playing jazz. Fey plays 22, a soul-in-training who has an unexpected encounter with Joe when he accidentally finds his way to the “You Seminar.” Together, the two are going to find a way to get Joe back to Earth, making him think again about what it truly means to have soul. Filmmakers also revealed that globally renowned musician Jon Batiste will be writing original jazz music for the film, and Oscar®-winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (“The Social Network”), from Nine Inch Nails, will compose an original score that will drift between the real and soul worlds. Disney and Pixar’s “Soul” opens in U.S. theaters on June 19, 2020. Docter next introduced director Dan Scanlon and producer Kori Rae, who shared details and more than ten minutes of exclusive footage from Pixar’s upcoming feature film “Onward.” The movie, which opens in U.S. theaters on March 6, 2020, stars Tom Holland and Chris Pratt as two teenage elf brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot, who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left in the world. Set in a modern fantasy world, Disney and Pixar’s “Onward” is inspired by Scanlon’s personal experiences with his brother. Holland, Pratt and Julia Louis-Dreyfus—who voices Mom in the movie—joined the filmmakers on stage—much to the delight of the audience, who all received an exclusive “Onward” poster. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Chief Creative Officer Jennifer Lee presented an overview of the studio’s next two features, beginning with the Thanksgiving 2020 fantasy-action-adventure, “Raya and the Last Dragon.” Directors Paul Briggs and Dean Wellins (“Big Hero 6,” “Frozen”), producer Osnat Shurer (“Moana”) and writer Adele Lim (“Crazy Rich Asians”) joined Lee on stage to set up the film, which introduces Raya, a lone warrior from the fantasy kingdom of Kumandra who teams up with a crew of misfits in her quest to find the Last Dragon and bring light and unity back to their world. The D23 Expo crowd was the first to get a look at the new film, viewing an exclusive three-minute piece. They also met two newly announced members of the voice cast: Awkwafina lends her voice to Sisu, the Last Dragon, who was left on Earth in case dark forces return to the world, and Cassie Steele voices the lead character, Raya. Exploring themes of community and hope, and inspired by the beautiful and diverse cultures of Southeast Asia, the fantasy-action-adventure “Raya and the Last Dragon” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 25, 2020.

Lee, who directs “Frozen 2” with Chris Buck, and wrote the screenplay, invited Buck to join her on stage as the Oscar®-winning duo revealed new details about the upcoming film, which opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22. Lee and Buck introduced two new “Frozen 2” cast members: Sterling K. Brown, who voices Lieutenant Destin Mattias, and Evan Rachel Wood, who voices Queen Iduna, Anna and Elsa’s mother. The crowd—who received an exclusive D23 Expo “Frozen 2” poster—saw never-before-seen footage of the new characters, including a scene that featured Wood as Iduna singing to young Elsa and Anna. The song, “All Is Found,” is one of seven all-new original songs by Oscar®-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The audience also saw a sequence from the movie that showcased Elsa’s yearning for answers about the past, culminating in another song, “Into the Unknown.” And a climactic performance of the song “Some Things Never Change” by Menzel, Bell, Groff and Gad brought the audience to its feet, capping off the studio presentation in extraordinary style.
