SCREW IT IM GONNA TOOT MY OWN HORN FOR A BIT
So it's been like a month since I put up my last big mashup, and the response has been awesome. I wanted to talk about all the little bits I put in there, because frankly, I put a lot of love into it, and I want to share it! Here's the video of the mashup with the music video (which is a big part of it.)
youtube
First of all, shoutouts to Shoocharu for the incredible animation for the original MV. I've found him to always have the best Game Grumps animations, and his abilities work perfectly for this music video.
Okay, now just to talk about all the Silly Jokes and Bits and Stuff. A lot of these were noticed by comments (and shoutouts to them! I love seeing people get these)
-Ska Cha Cha is used as a reference to the name of the actual song "Transcendental Cha Cha Cha". Close enough.
-A couple samples are used multiple times at different points in the song. For "Tik Tok", "Ska Cha Cha" and "Down" it makes sense since it's the chorus of the song. However, I also bring back "I'm Blue" and "Toxic" because in the original song, those samples are played over the lyrics "The universe is getting colder, colder. Still every universe somehow got Zumba". Those lyrics are repeated at the end of the song, showing how what was once madness is now being embraced. I thought playing those samples again with the full mix was appropriate.
-And yes, in the two appearances of The Void in the music video, MEGALOVANIA plays because he looks kinda like Sans.
-"words, words, words" was a super interesting inclusion. At first I added it because of the lyric "Just relax..." which is a lyric during that portion of Transcendental Cha Cha Cha. Also, not only did "here's two facts" thematically work well (since the song was about to discuss two separate universes) but it also perfectly aligned rhythmically. Also, that "words, words, words" line might be one of my favorite pre-choruses ever.
-I included Cruel Angel's Thesis at someone else's suggestion, but I'm really glad they suggested it. I actually start it with a somewhat heavy low pass filter before slowly fading off it because I thought it sounded cooler.
-I included "Harder Better Faster Stronger" during that portion because Tom's vocal effects sound similar.
-Cha Cha Slide matches perfectly since the lyrics of Transcendental Cha Cha Cha are also "Slide to the left....slide to the right". Incredibly proud of the little breakdown I included during the mix-up portion.
-"Sometimes this song, it sounds like" segment is referencing myself, since over the years I have developed my own patterns. Sometimes the song does indeed sound like Crawling (plus funny commercial next to it. Again...patterns) and sometimes it does sound like All Star (shoutouts to Star Shop)
-The Mighty B! Theme slaps actually.
-I felt like I had to include the Peanut Butter Jelly snippet, since "it's everything and nothing, it's a baseball bat" sounded almost like it was a direct reference to it. I wanted to include the original Tom Cardy lyric on top of that one both to hammer home the joke and also because I thought the harmonic vocals layered perfectly onto Peanut Butter Jelly Time would make for a nice touch.
-Every time I saw someone notice that I put the "God Dammit" directly after Never Gonna Give You Up to imply that he was mad about getting rick rolled, I gained a year of my life.
-Keeping the "Blink!" from the original song I felt was useful to help kinda punctuate the wildly different samples I was using.
-"Money Game" and "Money Money Money" being played over the French Revolution. Completely unrelated, but have you noticed how much wealth inequality we're facing here in America? That's interesting.
-"Closer" and "Closer" is such an easy joke. In fact it's so easy I've done it before. Did it anyway lmao
-During the big buildup, "Larger Than Life" was used mostly because I hadn't used that song before and I thought it was time. "Dare" was put in because I think that the vocals work really well to naturally create a sense of buildup (unless it's the Live version). "Brain Power" was put in to replicate the noise gate that Tom put on his extended note.
-Monkey Watch and Mr Brightside. Again! Patterns!
-toes
So yeah that's Transcendental Fever Dream. I'm sure if I had more time and excuses to talk about all the nitty gritty details and choices made I'd do it, but I think this is a pretty big breakdown. Something's always felt kinda Big about this one. I think that save for Super Smashup, this is the best mashup I've ever made, and I think it acts as a sort of a culmination of these last 7 years or so of mashups. No idea what the future holds, but if it comes from love, then it's gonna be great.
Thanks for reading.

bridgerton has its many faults but i do enjoy the string quartet renditions of modern songs and my ideal montague siblings tv show would have a similar soundtrack style too but alas the netflix regency mess beat em to it and now it’s kinda their brand thing oh well (also yess felicity praise on your previous anon response!)
Oh god so sorry for the rant I am about to give, absolutely no shade, but music is one of my biggest bones to pick with Bridgerton... I think the original soundtrack does well to emulate a historical romcom, but their existing historical choices and the string quartets grate my ears so badly. They have a tendency to use old music, but from late 19th century, or even 20th century, which are styles that absolutely DO NOT FIT the regency era. Then there's the quartets, which are straight up pop music but because it's violins they mask it as historical. It's basically the same principle the rest of the show goes by, "let's put a minimal attempt at historical aesthetic over a contemporary show", so I can't say it doesn't fit THIS SHOW SPECIFICALLY, but boy is it super annoying to me personally.
However you are SO RIGHT that a similar style could fit MS. In fact, that last anon make me realize that MS is MY Bridgerton, a silly historical romance that talks about family and societal expectations and isn't super worried about historical accuracy. A soundtrack of pop songs arranged as 18th century music would ABSOLUTELY SLAP, like ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! I can even see it featuring stuff like those mashups that were popular a few years back, Vivaldi was basically born to be remixed with high-energy 21st century music. Interpolation can also be the way to go. OH there are SO MANY options WAAAHHH this is so exciting ty for putting this thought into my head

@duelingdestiny tagged me in a post that said:
🎶✨when u get this u have to put 5 songs u actually listen to, publish. then, send this ask to 10 of your favorite followers (non-negotiable, positivity is cool) 🎶✨
OOC: This will be interesting... I was tagged in this two years ago and this has been sitting in my drafts for all of this time. Finally getting this done today. Sorry this took an eternity. Haha. The song titles all are YouTube links to the songs.
1: Bye Bye Liar (the 2024 mix) [mashup] by JustinBeats (they made the mashup, but obviously original credits go to Britney Spears and *N Sync) - As millennial trash, I am a sucker for 2000s era pop. Somehow, this person was able to mesh Britney's "Liar" with "Bye Bye Bye" that I ended up liking this version more than her original version of the song. It just works so damn well. This mashup's been on shameless repeat for days.
2: Hitamuki by Super Beaver - I love most of the OP/EDs, but I keep coming back to this one for some reason. I think the OP animation is one of my favorites of all of the openings, and it's for a season I really enjoy. Not to mention, the song is just a bop in general.
3: Death of Me by SAINT PHNX - I've been listening to it a ton lately because I need to edit with it for an upcoming anime con project. I like the dark themes in the lyrics and the fast pace of the song just makes it slap.
4: Armada by Visions of Atlantis - Here's the obligatory symphonic metal entry that I have to put on every music list. I'm also symphonic metal trash (Nightwish and Within Temptation are my main biases). This band mixes symphonic metal with pirate metal. Yeah, metal themed around being pirates. How can you not love that? It gives me big pirate AU muse for Bakugou.
5: Star by LOONA - This is my obligatory K-Pop entry. I love K-Pop. I'm one of those hipster K-Pop fans who've liked it since the early 2000s before it took over the world. I actually heard this song in the store one day and went "wow, this sounds like a K-Pop group" and looked it up by the lyrics. When I found the song, I immediately had to download it. It's such a cute song and gives me TodoBaku vibes (mainly from Shouto's POV). I usually tend to like the original Korean version of a song more when I hear it (The original Korean version of this song is called "Voice"), but the lyrics for the English version stuck with me more.
Anything by BoA, SHINee, Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru, Nightwish, Within Temptation, Evanescence, and Do As Infinity are also in my top playlists. My music tastes are... all over the place.

ok this is real long and rambly im v sorry !! i jus wanted to talk abt music as well heh,, i loved reading ur music commentary under the tag game !! (hehe. i tag u rlly often cuz. i hav this secret inner mechanism where if a mutual tags me in anything *once* ill tag that mutual in literally everything if i remember/if prompted. tis how i roll) tho fr ur segment abt 20 min prog rock songs was so damn accurate. it rlly reminded me of pink floyd's "dogs", king crimson's "lizard" (not the album itself but moreso the sort of. i guess mashup shit they do. another prime example of this is moonchild (including the dream and the illusion), or the devil's triangle. which is honestly more nervewracking rather than boring i guess. JDEVGAVEAHDHGEAVHGAEVDGEVDG. hell ost i guess. w lizard ive listened to it so many times and while it does hav a multitude of lyrics DAMN those 23 minutes are painstakingly longgg ! i guess im a lil biased cuz u know ive played it too often. tho it does hav some v beautiful parts... ! i think a prime example of what u hav mentioned abt prog rock was w king crimson's one red nightmare. it has a cool part and then its jus. Instrumentals after and it gets kind of boring. at least the drums r p damn good!! or u know to some of comus's songs (which isnt prog rock but its prog folk. same damn thing where the songs are INSANELY long and can sometimes b rlly boring in certain portions), some prime examples being their song the herald (only 12min long. but mannn sometimes w prog rock or prog folk they make 10+ min songs feel like HOURS. but its also v mesmerizing!! or drip drip which. holy hell is an AMAZING song but theres this one part thats insanely fucking boringgg YAWN. its a nice break before the very chilling lyrics nearing the end but. come on now!) but yeah. i jus wanted to ramble bc i rlly need to get to listening to kc's entire discography as well. idk what u've listened to jus yet but some song recs if ur inchrested or havent listened to them already... could also apply 2 some of ur followers if they read this long ass ramble. this ask is a 20+ min prog rock song at this point: formentera lady, islands, the letters, ladies of the road, pictures of a city, moonchild, cirkus runthrough / lady of the dancing water (alt take) (why this one? it jus sounds better imo. lady of the dancing water is very very beautiful), thela hun ginjeet (this one is very fun and catchy), the sheltering sky, frame by frame, matte kudasai (VERY soothing), ummm.. dr diamond (live. i wish there was a more high quality ver somewhere), cadence and cascade, book of saturday, probably some more i forgot abt !!!!!! top 5 songs on their spotify also slap (obvs everyone and their mom already knows those songs id imagine! tho for new listeners those r bangers. esp starless.). if u wanna get REAL scared u should listen to da devil's triangle. (exaggerating but its quite diff from what *ive* heard. like hollyyy hell they set the mood down so so so so so well)
I appreciate the extra depth in the commentary- it is thoughtful. (I also appreciate the tag games.)
I agree that progressive rock is a very alluring and simultaneously often frustrating genre as someone who tends to be a fan of it. I consider it the musical equivalent of a sit-down meal; it requires a lot of patience and is best for when you have the time to just appreciate and drift off to it.
Progressive rock is usually lengthy, often slow, very experimental, and tends to utilize a lot of improvisation; as a result, you end up with a lot of songs with pieces that work extremely well, but you do often have to sit through a lot of parts that you just don't care for. Having music be a test of patience is understandably just not for everybody.
I find that my favorite progressive rock songs transform into feeling more like journeys rather than typical musical experiences. I consider Echoes by Pink Floyd to be my favorite prog rock song (and one of my favorite songs in general) for this reason. I end up enjoying the long middle portion entirely made of odd, unnerving, very non-"musical" sounds, because the entire song feels like you are trekking through something strange and unknown.
The slow transition with the buildup of the main tune's return at the very end of the middle portion feels almost like a phoenix rising from the ashes, or the reward at the end of a long journey- I hope that doesn't sound cheesy, lol. I enjoy sometimes playing Echoes at nighttime while I'm lying in bed, and I believe that is the absolute best time to play it. It ends up being a very moving experience for me and it really highlights the great potentials of progressive rock.
Thank you for the recommendations- I'm planning to listen to everything, anyway, but I'm sure any of my followers looking for music recs will appreciate it. King Crimson gets a lot of praise from music enthusiasts, but it doesn't seem as well-known among the mainstream as other progressive rock like Pink Floyd, for example.

have you ranked debut yet 🤔💭
NOPE BUT I WILL NOW∼∼∼∼∼∼
im only me when im with you - something about her voice in this song sounds so different to the others on this album,, like its more gravelly if that makes sense?? idk,, anyway i love this song sm
our song - OURSONGISTHESLAMMINSCREENDOOR,, this song is so country LMAOO (i mean the whole album is but like) this song is so soso cutesie and i love her voice when she says 'and you talk real slow / when its late and your mama dont know'
picture to burn - THE BIRTH OF ANGSTY TAYLOR🙏🏽 i miss the 'i'll tell mine youre gay' line
teardrops on my guitar - ok this is just one of those songs that really is the essence of taylor,, i dont know what it is exactly but even the title alone is so her
tied together with a smile - this song is so depressing actually. specially considering that taylor went through the same situation shes singing about here in the 1989 era :( taylors version will actually put me in the grave
shouldve said no - ICONIC,, specially the mashup with this and bad blood on the rep tour
the outside - this song slaps both with the melody and lyrics,, and i read somewhere that SHE WROTE THIS AT 12 YEARS OLD??? that kinda talent so young is insane actually (same goes for this whole album tbh bc she wrote all of these at age 16 and below)
tim mcgraw - when i think tim mcgraw i think of taylor,, and i think thats so cool (and embarrasing for him tbh). also the fact that this is the first song in her entire discography????????so cool,,,,, also i was barely a sentient being when this was released (i was a few months old) but the intro for some reason gives me such a deep feeling of nostalgia, the country twang and the smooth instrumentals ahhhuihafgsduhgfiluafgwuieljs
cold as you - this is literally the country version of tolerate it,, its the perfect song to be her first ever track 5,, the song writing on here is insane
marys song - god tier storytelling as usual, its a modern day classic ANDDDDD ITS VERY JACINTERCORE,, i <3 friends to lovers
invisible - you belong with me (sad girl country version)
a place in this world - this one makes me feel a similar way that long live does, its so cool to listen to thinking about how far she's come in her career since then and she DID in fact find a place in this world (also this one is so relatable even for normies like us bc i AM LITERALLLLY JUST A GIRL TRYING TO FIND A PLACE IN THIS WORLD. FOR REALS😜)
stay beautiful - this ones such a silly fun one i love it but also what does 'cory's eyes are like a jungle' even MEAN LMAOOOOOOOO????????
a perfectly good heart - okayy everyone is a hater of this song but I AM NOT. its not as well written as the other songs on this album i'll admit, BUT its cute n stuff, and i like the bridge vocals when shes like 'its not unbroken anymore / how do i get it back the way it was befooooooore'
anyway in conclusion, anybody who is a ts debut hater is actually wrong and boring !!!!!!!!! this album is such a teen girl light airy album and it reminds me sm of being 15/16 (i know im BARELY out of that age range but whatever,, let me pretend to be mature) and u know what, i dont like country usually but this SLAPS, whenever i put this album on my british accent is gone and for 50 mins 29 seconds, i am an actual cowgirl. boots n all

🎶✨️When you get this you have to put 5 songs you actually listen to, publish, then send this ask to 10 of your favourite followers (non-negotiable, positivity is cool) ✨️🎶
Thanks for the tag, @alyxmastershipper ! 💙💙Took me some time to finish this hehe I'm just so damn indecisive 😅 So I hope you'll let me cheat a little..
1. Honey It's Alright - Gregory Alan Isakov
"Honey, It's alright
It's alright to be
Alone"
This song!! Idk, it's just one of those that makes me very emotional almost every time. The melody brings me so much peace, and the lyrics, although they can be "uplifting", It's also like a shot to the chest. The fear of being alone has been a BIG theme for me for years, so this song is kinda like a therapy session hahah.
2. I Giorni / Nuvole Bianche / Experience / Divenire / le onde / Oltremare / Primavera / Fly - Ludovico Einaudi
*cough* since I can't seem to pick only one, I'll put them all here sfhasfjashfk
His music just slaps, and they helped me a lot when I was going through a very tough time in my life. It helped me - and still does - to relax and stay grounded every time anxiety decides to knock on the door.
3. It Won't Be Long - Branches
"All of the sadness and all of the tears
Bottled and labeled and locked up for years
'Til my alarm clock tied up my tongue
White flag was soaked with the sorrows I'd wrung"
It's a short one, but It's a song that helps me go through sad days. It's a constant, soothing voice in my ear that just says that: It wont be long. You'll get better. Things will get better. It's okay. Let it out. And it's enough.
4. One Day - Kodaline
"You're alwyas trying to see yourself
Through the eyes of someone else
Through the eyes of someone else"
One of my oldest insecurities, and - I think - the hardest to let go of. The constant feeling of not being enough. Not enough to love, not enough to stay for. It's a process, a very long one, but I only hope to break through it.
AH, and I'm married to this band! Brother, All I Want, High Hopes, Ready, All My Friends.. Bangers!!! ok, im done now.
5. Echoes - 2WEI
OKAY. LIKE. HOW DO I START?
The lyrics are the same until the end, so it's more about the song as a whole. It just makes me shiver every time! I don't know why!!
I found this one watching a 2019 multifandom mashup.. and in my opinion, it's one of the best mashups I have ever seen. It's so powerful! And beautiful! And UGH I LOVE IT!
I will leave the link for anyone who is interested on watching it! :) -

Admin note: blog purpose/focus revision & URL change
mashupstourney > @does-the-mashup-slap
I made this change due to a couple of factors.
First of all, I have had some recent difficulties with my health that have made creating & revisiting multiple polls at once for the mashup tournament difficult to impossible. When I first started it, I posted 4 polls at a time, & also did administrative tasks that were meant to maximize vote totals, such as repeat reblogs of the polls the day before they ended. But since I have been ill, when I get the energy to check my calendar tasks, I will sometimes find that I missed a follow-up task by a day, or a week, or even more.
Second of all, once I started making polls about judging individual mashups, I realized just find those more fun. They are faster & easier to post than the polls for the tournament, which is why those have been going up more consistently. Plus I just prefer judging each mashup on its own merits, rather than comparing them to each other.
Therefore, I renamed the blog to match what its main focus has become. All the mashups that appeared in the tournament match-up polls will be appearing in an individual poll later on at some point.

10 Years of DJing
In the immortal words of Hilary Duff: "Let's go back... back to the beginning..."
10 years ago today, I began my DJ project Blitz Comet and released my first DJ Mix - Summertime Vol. 1. It was the summer of 2013. I had just finished Middle School and what I thought at the time was the worst school year of my life. Though I was nervous about starting High School, nothing made me happier than the school year and Middle School being over and I was looking forward to kicking back and taking a much-needed rest. And kicked back I did.
I spent a chunk of that summer watching glued to Cartoon Network and Disney XD watching Regular Show, Adventure Time, and Gravity Falls, hanging out with my friends in the scorching Pennsylvania heat, writing on the blog I had at the time, figuring out Tumblr, and after asking for it for some time, my sister finally gave me her old iPod Touch and from there I set up profiles on Instagram and Vine (remember that?) and started filling it up with music.
Like all kids, I got bored at points during the summer and while downloading songs for my new iPod, I also got some blank CDs my Dad had in his office and started making mix CDs (remember those?) and I'd play on our CD Changer that was practically never touched in our family room. From there, I stumbled upon a site called Mixtaping.fm (which sadly no longer exists) and started making mixtapes there. I was having a lot of fun with it and decided that I wanted to turn the mixtapes I was making into actual DJ Mixes. I didn't know anything about how to make them, so I went on YouTube and watched a tutorial on how to make mixes on Audacity, which I knew how to use. Shortly afterward, I made my first official DJ Mix, consisting of 7 songs I was heavily listening to at the time. Blitz Comet Presents Summertime Vol. 1 shortly after dropped on Mixtaping.FM and Mixcloud, and the rest is history.
Since then, I've worked on my mixing skills, learned how to use actual DJ software, and have released almost 50 mixes, a handful of mashups, and co-produced some tracks. And there's still more to be done! I want to thank everyone who's been listening and supporting the past decade. Two years ago, I released a remixed and rearranged version of the mix titled Summertime '13, which is available to listen to on SoundCloud and Mixcloud. If you have a half-hour to kill today and are in the mood to listen to some early 2010's EDM, give it a listen! And while I never made another volume of Summertime and it's been a pretty quiet year for Blitz Comet thus far, that may change come this weekend...
TRACKLIST:
1. Kill Paris - Slap Me (Candyland Remix)
2. Skrillex & Damian Marley - Make It Bun Dem
3. Krewella - Alive
4. Adventure Club - Retro City
5. Sirah - Blew Your Mind
6. Wolfgang Gartner - Overdose ft. Medina
7. David Guetta - Play Hard ft. Ne-Yo & Akon

Now we move on to things where a crossover line would be the way to go.
Dungeons and Dragons has its own post.
The Thundercats Triumverate
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This falls into both the "valid crossover lines" and "do it in that format" (upcoming) sections. But look, everyone wants the Thundercats and the MOTU people in the same size and format (and with good construction) Pot-luck your character selections from the three "Thunderverse" shows: Thundercats, Silverhawks, Tiger Sharks, so you don't get theme overload.
Ideally these would be a permanent fusion thing, but that's not gonna happen realistically.
The Hanna-Barbara Adventure-Verse
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, this is a wacky one, but stay with me.
This stuff was all in the MOTU DNA, and the parts reuse options are actually pretty good. The majority of characters could be made with stock parts, and those that couldn't would have reuse potential anyhow. If nothing else you could sell a Space Ghost, Moltar, Brak and Modulok-y Zorak on the merits of double-nostalgia.
MOTU Vs Capcom
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This would be a "Turtles of Grayskull" style mashup concept, with gear swaps, hybird characters, and reinterpretations across the board.
Your Capcom types are given a layer of barbarian lacquer and MOTU-esq accessories. A slapping-position fisto-fist for E Honda, thematically inappropriate swords and axes, Horde armor for the eviler Darkstalkers, etc. Battle Armor Ken Masters (fist shaped chest-dents), a larger-than-standard (in the Andre-the-Giant buck kind of way) Barbarian-queen Lady Dimitrescu (a mold that will be useful for a later Scorpia and other 'big gals')
Your MOTU guys get to cosplay as Street Fighters and Darkstalkers, etc. An Akuma-like 'Shin Skeletor', a He-Man in Guile/Charlie theme using chunks of the 'military he-man' prototype concept, Catra-by-way-of-Felicia, etc, Beast Man with blanka colors and electric accessory, that kind of thing.
The mashup/hybrid characters, however, are where it's really at. Mega-Man-at-Arms, Soulbinder (Spellbinder/Morrigan style succubus), Lord Scareglow (Scareglow/Lord Raptor), Radd-Blast (Radd Spencer/Rio-Blast), Mek-A-Dhalsim (MekaNek-Dhalism, uses the same arm-extension pieces as Radd-Blast), Dragon-of-Grayskull (Ryu He-Manized), Nemesis Horde (a Nemesis-ized Hordak),
Zangief is just Zangief with furry trunks.
Scooby-Doo
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
C'mon, everybody's doin' it...
Scooby-Doo has also crossed over with the WWE, so by the transitive property of ridiculousness, it is a viable match for MOTU.
Buff Barbarian Scooby Gang with gimmicks (Triclops for Velma with 'glasses' and 'no glasses', Jitsu-esq chopping hand-weapon for Daph, a 'friendly trap-jaw alt-head for Fred with some trap accessories, Shaggy's got a pizza shield and the power sword jabbed through a giant sandwich), Battlecat-Style Scooby with a mystery-machine themed saddle, some MOTU-ized baddies (Creeper, Ghost Clown, skeleton-men etc) and some hybrid-guys (Roboto-Charlie, Scareglow-Space Kook).
Next up, Stuff They Missed internally.
Guys I think should be in MOTU: Origins
My love of MOTU Origins is not very hidden, and they've hit tons of great points, but there's so much further to go. So, here's my rundown of what I'd want to see joint the MOTU Origins lineup.
Section 1: Give it the Sun-Man Treatment.
Blackstar
Tumblr media
The proto-He-Man of yore, Blackstar as an IP is probably well within the price range for Mattel to sweep up to sprinkle into the line the same way Sun Man's universe was.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For advantages, it's VERY aesthetically compatible and has several strong character designs. It's no more obscure than Sun-Man, and I want hordes of those imp-demons, damnit.
BraveStarr
Tumblr media
Again, a no-brainer. Find the character rights holders, get the rights. New Texas is out there in space, use it as an excuse to do MOTU:Origins versions of the New Adventures designs ("space travel" He-Man) and Rio-Blast. If they already own all the rights then them not having already done this is toyetic malpractice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Advantages are obvious. BraveStarr rocks. You have a POC lead hero, Tex-Frickin'-Hex, and Thirty-Thirty, who would be well worth the extra tooling to make a deluxe figure of (you can always do an upgraded Stridor repaint). You would scatter them through waves to keep from overloading with the Space Cowboy thing, but def a winner.
Also, Rio-Blast. Rio-Blast, Yo.

Skeleton Warriors

It was never strong enough to stand on its own. Give Skeletor some friends. 'Nuff Said.
One-Off Guest Stars
This section is a little different, as these wouldn't be permanent integrations, but more fun crossover one-offs rather than being a whole theme. Characters pulled from other Mattel-owned lines of the past:
Mojo Ken and Thunderpunch Barb-E
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here's the thing. This line is dead stupid, and should remain that way. Give Ken two heads (one 'bad' Mojo head and one 80s toy Ken style one) give Barbie weirdly plausible MOTU gear, the joke alone is worth the parts reuse. Best if nestled in with some Princess of Power characters.
Lets give Captain Power a hand, folks.
Tumblr media
Its that live action TV show that interacted with the vehicles that landed in the uncanny valley between family TV and advert-traintment that never quite works!
Captain Power and Lord Dread are pretty much the only ones you'd want to hit, maybe the Soaron Sky Sentry. And really, they're not that hard to do. Captain Power could easily be made with Roboto legs and upper arms, any number of gloved hands, a new chest armor and a new head.
Any newly tooled pieces would be useful in MOTU movie and new adventure characters.
Tumblr media
The Construx Alien demands your respect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know it makes no sense, I don't care, it's my list. He's amazing and needs to be big and buff with a weird hand.
Major Matt Mason has nothing better to do.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This set's a stretch, as it would require a chunk of new tooling, but again, maybe worth it for the New Adventures and She-Ra applications, plus hey, Astronaut prequel Biff Bestman, Evelyn Powers, and Captain Marlena parts!
He-Man's space-man friend is a role that could still be filled.
Next Up... Crossover Potential.

fave little mix songs?
JEJEHE SAYS YOU 🥺 your music taste is literally so good 🥺💖
5. Rendezvous
4. Motivate (this is literally here because of your Kurtbastian songs post, I’m not even gonna lie 🦧)
these next three songs were on rEpEaT during my fetus days, they remind me of drawing for hours with my window open during summer, and listening to the birds chirp :) (although a wasp would usually break into my room and cause chaos soon after)
3. Wings
2. Black Magic

Sorry if this question is too broad or imposing but I'm trying to get into modding Fallout 4 for the first time, mostly to make armor skins. What're the best tutorials? I've tried searching online but a lot of the tutorials are outdated. (Would also love to know how to bash existing skins together though modelling my own would be fun too). Again sorry for this ask I'm just so lost about how to get into modding lol.
Ahhh do not apologize for asking me about modding fallout. I could talk about the guts of this stupid game all day ahhh
Tumblr media
modding grip^
Unfortunately I...don't know any good tutorials. I think a lot of Fo4 modders came over already knowing skyrim or FNV. Most of what I know is based on outdated guides, old loverslab threads, my existing graphic design knowledge, and trial-and-error. I think armour is the best place to start because there are so many tools available (thanks tittymodders!), and you don't have to worry about needing 3DS Max for collisions or animations.
This is the only modding tutorial I've ever watched. It's old, but good to show you a proper workflow and how to set up your files. They use creation kit, but if you're just making armour its way easier to use xEdit. I don't even have the ck installed, I do everything in xEdit.
This is an excellent guide to outfit conversions. It gets pretty in depth, but you really don't need to bother with the dismemberment section if it's just for you. It's for FG reduced but you can use it as a general guide for weighting anything for any body and getting your modded outfit game ready.
Texture edits and outfit conversions are where I started and are probably the easiest. The best thing to do is just poke around mods you like and see how they do it.
Some tools:
xEdit: Plugin editor for creation engine games. If you're doing any kind of modding you should learn how to use this. Esl-flagging, running complex sorter, making bashed patches and making your own compatibility patches are skills you need if you want to run a heavily modded game.
Icestorms texture toolbox: the best texture tool, i use the "batch processing" tab at the end to convert .png (no alpha) and .tga (alpha) files to .dds.
Nvidia texture tools exporter: lets you open .dds file in photoshop with the alpha channel intact. You don't need a nvidia card, I'm all team red. Don't bother using this to export unless you have to, its slow as fuck.
Sagethumbs: Gives .dds files thumbnails in windows explorer.
IrfanView: For quickly viewing texture files without launching photoshop. Also an excellent general image viewer.
Bethesda Archive Extractor: Crack open those .ba2 files and get to the goods.
Material Editor: What it says on the tin, lets you edit Fo4 and Fo76 material files. These are like containers that have the paths to all your textures and how they are to be shaded to attach to .nif files.
NifSkope: View and edit .nif files. Dev 7 is the recommended, but Dev 8 can open Fo76 meshes if you want to backport those.
Outfit Studio: Even if you don't use body replacers, this is an incredible tool for editing and weighting meshes. If you're making armour you need this. This is also where I make most of my mashups: you can pull parts from different outfits, slap them together, and export them quickly and easily.
Blender: It's free and it works. Learning to navigate this is going to be your biggest hurdle but it's worth it, trust me. Thankfully blender has a huge community and hundreds of tutorials. This is where I make my hi poly models and do all my retopo/uvs. I also prefer to use blender to edit meshes because it has more robust editing tools.
PyNifly: What I use to import/export .nif files from blender.
Fo4 is made in the 2013 version of 3DS Max and the havok content tools but i haven't bothered to pirate that yet. You don't need it for armour anyways.
I'm sorry this is so long and rambly. If you have a more specific question I might be more helpful ha.

People want to stay in the HP fandom because of nostalgia, the sense of community and the sheer rate of engagement with fanworks. Those ships will never die. People will post and engage with new fics for a long time. Substitutes that scratch the same itch don't exist, as has been pointed on this blog time and again. But if people were serious about finding them, there would be more recs of things like Novik's Scholomance, which is enough like HP, only with a better sense of social inequality, and Grossman's The Magicians, which is an HP/Narnia mashup about a magical university for assholes and even has a TV adaptation with a decently sized fandom. For the TikTok set, there's The Atlas Six and other crap that gets slapped with the "dark academia" label. But people never recommend anything that is structurally similar to HP. The recs always come across like they're trying to lure displaced fans into new, smaller fandoms, which isn't how it works.
It's also perfectly fair to question any and all support of JKR. If someone feels guilty about that support because the author is a virulent transphobe, that is their cross to bear, and it's no one else's responsibility to make that moral dilemma go away. "People should enjoy things" and "people should feel uncomfortable for supporting a bigot" aren't mutually exclusive positions.

Part 2, we're just gonna dive right into it:
Caramella Girls - Caramelldansen - I'm really starting part 2 with that, huh. Alright, sure. Yeah, I stand by it. Tell me he wouldn't love it. Tell me he wouldn't blast it in Ford's head at 3am while Ford is utterly exhausted. It's especially weird, given how the song wouldn't be out at that point in time. Maybe he snagged it from the future.
O-Zone - Dragostea Din Tei - Oh, hey, the original song. Just felt wrong having a bunch of different versions of the song without it, even if I feel like Bill would vibe with the more dance-y versions more.
Psynwav - Musical Tangents: 01 Industry Victory - Oh, hey, we're getting into super weird (no AL) mashup territory. I mean, I had Sweet Victory in the first half and I'm pretty sure I have Industry Baby on here as well, unless I decide to remove it when I get there.
Anyway this one and the next few are the ones from this album that I feel like Bill would probably have on a party playlist somewhere. I had to physically restrain myself from adding A Bite At The Pizzeria on the list as well. I might add it at some point anyway.
Psynwav - Musical Tangents: 09 Happy Hour - Bit of a tamer one but it's very fun. Also Cbat makes a return.
Psynwav - Musical Tangents: 10 We Don't Make Meme Mashups - This one is just batshit and only gets more chaotic by the end. Love it to pieces.
Ryan Chongoshow - MAD RAT PURGATORY - I needed at least one Ryan Chongoshow original mashup on here and also I'm SO sad he hasn't uploaded The Jam Revolving on Youtube as its own video because I'd 100% add that as well.
Either way, if you want to check it out for yourselves, it's here in the full Behindtale album. Which I'd just recommend on its own outside of any Bill playlists if you love mashups and Undertale. Consider that an honorary playlist song.
Lil Nas X - INDUSTRY BABY - Okay, so this isn't on here because I think it applies to Bill. This is on here because I feel like he'd apply it to himself. I don't think it suits him but I feel like he'd think it suits him, you know? But bestie, it doesn't. 'Oh, I'm gonna make the biggest comeback, I'm gonna prove them all wrong!' Dude. Anyway, great song.
Lipps Inc. - Funkytown - Yeah :)
Earth, Wind & Fire - September - Yeah :) (These ones are just fun vibes, don't have any other reasons besides that)
Britney Spears - Circus - ALL EYES ON ME IN THE CENTER OF THE RING, JUST LIKE A CIRCUSSS~ This one's just fun and also listen to the lyrics. Can you not imagine Bill being like 'Oh, that's soooo me~!'?
Britney Spears - Toxic - YOU GET IT BECAUSE HE'S TO-god, this playlist really bounces between coding him as an angsty teenage boy and a girlypop teenage girl. So real, if we're being honest.
Lou Bega - Mambo No. 5 (A Little Bit of…) - This song has those 'singer is trying to sound so cool and suave while also kinda coming across as a huge dork' vibes, in the best way. So, like...*gestures at Bill* Also does anyone remember the Radio Disney version where he sings about wanting to hook up with the Disney characters? That was weird.
Katy Perry - Firework - This song's so fucking annoying, but you know Bill would hear those first few lyrics and go 'Ugh, she gets me.'
Switchfoot - This Is Your Life - Once again, I show my Christian upbringing in full by slapping another Switchfoot song on here, but also like. Listen to it. Can you not imagine it being sung to him from the Axolotl's perspective? Am I just stretching so hard I dislocate my arm? Who's to say?
Geppetto Soundtrack - Pleasure Island - I feel like only three other people outside of me grew up with this movie, but also this song's got fun, sinister vibes.
Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling - Honestly, just assume any Black Eyed Peas songs are on here because they'd be loud and annoying. I mean, I like their music but I know that's the general consensus for them.
Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow - Like I said above.
will.i.am ft. Britney Spears - Scream & Shout - Not technically a Black Eyed Peas song but I feel like it falls in the same vein of often being scorned by people who just hate fun. Also it's got more Britney, and while I can't imagine Bill's as much a Britney girlie as he is a Kesha girlie, he's still got a handful of her songs at the ready.
Typing that also made me realize how I have, like, no Lady Gaga songs on this playlist. I dunno, while she's definitely weird, I feel like her brand of weird and Bill's brand of weird aren't completely overlapping. At least in terms of music, he'd definitely love that meat dress. Maybe some of her songs will end up on the list at some point.
Black Eyed Peas - Dirty Bit - This is the last song of theirs for now, but I know I added Let's Get It Started down the list. I know too many of their songs.
Pitbull ft. Christina Aguilera - Feel This Moment - I don't have enough Pitbull on this list. I should fix that. I considered Timber, but even with Kesha, it just didn't feel right for a Bill playlist. Dunno, the vibes were off to me.
Taio Cruz - Dynamite - I THROW MY HANDS UP IN THE AIR SOMETIMES, SAYIN' AYYYYOOOO, GOTTA LET GO-
Nova Twins - Undertaker - An anon suggested this, and I LOVE their rage. The lyrics are very Bill as well~!
Pure Hell - No Rules - Another anon suggestion, and once again, it definitely has those Bill vibes! So much rage, I love it!
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit - Of course. Of course.
Weird Al - Smells Like Nirvana - Again, of course. I should really tie the two of these together with the cover in the first part, but I feel like they all encompass Bill to some degree. The silliness, the rage, the ominous vibes. Whichever one you pick, I can see it applied to him.
DJ Cummerbund - Shaxicula - This mashup's just silly and fun.
Basshunter - DotA - I believe Puff put this on their playlist as well, and the ONLY reason I remember that is because I saw the song title and went 'Wait, I haven't thought about that song in years!' Anyway, yeah.
Team Four Star - My Way Lyric Video (TFS Perfect Cell Cover) - Specifically this cover. It just hit different.
The Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get It Started - We're not going to talk about the original version. We're not going to do it. Don't know what the original version is? Good, keep it that way. We're just going to enjoy this version and agree that they'd be bumping it so loud in the Fearamid.
djJack - Heffalumps and Woozles Remix and djJack - Pink Elephants on Parade Remix - Loud remixes of already super-weird Disney songs. I dig it.
Awkwafina & Daveed Diggs - The Scuttlebutt - What the FUCK were they thinking with this? Anyway, it's one of the worst songs I've ever heard in my life. So naturally I added it to my Bill playlist. Does it relate to him? Not really. Would he love it? Absolutely.
Ylvis - The Fox (What Does The Fox Say) - I think we're just getting into songs that Bill would slap on his party playlist because they're so goddamn annoying. I have a LOT less to say about some of these other than 'They're annoying, he'd love them.' But that's all we need, right?
Eminem - Without Me - Pretty sure this was a Drake suggestion, too. Also annoying but my dad listened to a lot of Eminem when I was growing up so it's kind of nostalgic for me. Anyway, I fully support slapping mediocre white boy music onto my Bill playlist.
Lil Bigg Dawggg - Straight Blanchin' - Only this version, though. The soundtrack version doesn't have Kevin Michael Richardson on it, and I consider that a personal sin. Plus I just like how this one was put together.
Kesha - Die Young - This Kesha song's so far down because I actually forgot it early on. Felt terrible when I eventually remembered it, but I slapped it on the playlist and that was that~! Honestly I think one might be one of Bill's favorites. How ironic.
Yoshida Nightcore - Nightcore - I'm Blue x I'm Good - This mashup just rules, I don't even care. Maybe I have extremely bad taste in music, but I feel like people who hate the newer song just hate fun.
David Guetta, Bebe Rexha - I'm Good (Blue) (Nightcore) - Once again, I feel like people just hate fun. Anyway, Bill's bumping this so loudly that they hear it up in Washington. It's true, I heard it.
Eiffel 65 - Blue (Da Ba Dee) - And finally, I add the original song. Which I also love to pieces, I always have. Maybe Bill dedicates it to Kryptos or something.
Bill Nye: The Science Guy (Intro) and Bill Nye The Science Guy Theme Song But I'm Screaming The Lyrics - SERIOUS loud warning for that second one, but I just think I'm hilarious. Also I got the idea from the poll about Bill Nye earlier.
NOMA - Brain Power - Don't have much to this one, just the vibes.
Bring Me The Horizon - Kool-Aid - Doll suggested this one, and they were right. It bangs hard.
The Living Tombstone - My Ordinary Life - And we're back to the super obvious picks, specifically the one I completely forgot about until earlier. Anyway, yes.
Teenagers - My Chemical Romance - I added it back on. Who are you to judge me? The Bill police? Get outta here. Anyway, yeah, this has big Bill vibes to me.
PaRappa the Rapper - Car Rap - BAD Instrumental - This one just gives me anxiety because it reminds me of how bad I was at that game. I feel like Bill would find it amusing.
Oh, look at that, I'm at the bottom of the playlist. At least for now, I'll probably end up adding more songs to it at some point. If I add enough, I'll reblog this with a Part 3.
Anyway, if you read all of this, you're a saint because I spent several hours putting it together. Hope you like my stupid as fuck Bill playlist, even if most of the back half of songs were just added because 'I feel like he'd like them for parties' without much of a deeper meaning to them.
Hayley's Completely Self-Indulgent and Borderline Ridiculous Bill Cipher Playlist (Part 1)
Just gonna go for it and make a masterpost of all the songs (video links included) I've got on my Bill playlist so far.
'So far' being the key words; I've added over a hundred songs at this point and will probably add more in time. Whether it's songs I think Bill would like, songs that just remind me of Bill, the most obnoxious songs to hear on a party playlist, songs connected to the side of himself he tries to bury in lies, or songs that I'll admit are a bit of a stretch but they still remind me of Bill so I added them anyway, I've got a little bit of everything here.
I do take requests for songs to add but also don't make fun of me for some of the more obvious and basic choices because I know. I know. But also I can do whatever I want forever.
I did put some small reasons/infodumps next to each song, to explain why I picked them. Or I'll just say that it had Bill vibes to me and leave it at that.
Anyway, for anyone interested (if you actually read all my little blurbs, massive props to you), the first chunk of songs are listed below. Just a heads up, it's LONG and this is only the first part:
Mariana & The Diamonds - Oh No! - Yeah, obviously. Obviously.
Taylor Swift - Death Note 「AMV」 Look What You Made Me Do - I said it before, I'll say it again; Death Note AMV creators can turn water into wine and every time I watch this one, I can't stop picturing the song from the POV of a manipulative, power-hungry bastard with a God Complex. So you know, Bill. But only specifically in this context, it doesn't hit as hard without the AMV.
Fall Out Boy - Centuries - Listen to the lyrics of the chorus. That's Bill. Like...that's Bill. The rest of the song has a lot of really good Bill lyrics as well.
Scissor Sisters - I Can't Decide - Shut up. SHUT UP. I knew about the song WAY before it was ever applied to Bill. Heck, I knew about this song way before Bill even existed so SHUSH. But like, come on. Sometimes a song choice is overapplied to a character for a reason; it works.
Creature Feature - The Greatest Show Unearthed - I think my teenage self would strangle me if I didn't put at least one Creature Feature song on here. Lucky for him, I've put more than one. But the other one comes later. ...Did I add it? I should check that.
Voltaire - Land of the Dead - Speaking of teenage Hayley's tastes, time for the Voltaire songs I've definitely just added because of the 'I'm 13 and this is Deep' vibes. But also Voltaire fucks severely and every Bill playlist should have at least one of his songs on it, in my personal opinion.
Voltaire - When You're Evil - Once again, I'm 13 and this is Deep, but also tell me you can't imagine Bill singing this to himself. No, not in a sexy way in a human body who looks like Oregonian Onceler, in the edgy teenager way where you thinks you're the most evilest evil in the entire world but you're really just going through puberty and also probably transgender, but you don't know that yet.
Voltaire - Death Death (Devil, Devil, Evil, Evil, Song) - Once again, edgy teen who thinks he's the most evilest evil in the entire world (I don't think Bill is actually irredeemably, unquestionably evil, he'd just really vibe with 'Ooh I'm so evil! I'm such a bad guy!' songs).
I'm pretty sure this is the last Voltaire song for now, unless I added Brains! somewhere down the line and forgot. (Also just a mild warning but this song DOES use the f-slur, if that bugs you)
The Greatest Showman Cast - The Other Side - Sighs. Look. It's a Bill and Ford song to me. I don't even mean romantically or anything, just LISTEN to it. That's them. If there were a Gravity Falls Musical, dedicated to recreating the entire show through song and dance, the two of them meeting for the first time would have a song exactly like this. I refuse to apologize for this choice. Also a Gravity Falls musical would rule, someone should make that eventually.
Italobrothers - My Life is a Party - Just the first of my many Dragostea Din Tei choices for this playlist. I really like the original, okay? And I usually end up attached to people who try to remix it/make a new song outta it. This one has the bonus of also being a fun party song.
David Guetta, Bebe Rexha - I'm Good (Blue) - Speaking of the first choice of a song I have multiple times on this playlist in some form. I don't care what anybody says, I think this song is a lot of fun and I think Bill would have it on one of his party playlists somewhere. Probably the Nightcore version, it's a lot quicker and makes for a better fistpumping song, in my personal opinion.
Set It Off ft. William Beckett - Wolf In Sheep's Clothing - Yeah, I'm not explaining this one, you get it.
Vocaloid (made by Fukase) - ‘Cause I’m a Liar - I actually don't like this one all that much, and I can feel everyone's judgment about having a fucking Kokichi Ouma fansong on here. But the lyrics don't lie. Or...I guess they do. It's a song about being a liar, that's the joke. (Also slight content warning but the video has a lot of flashy effects, so take caution!)
Kesha - Blow - Of course we've gotta have some Kesha. There will be more. She needs no explanation.
Kesha - TiK ToK - Once again, not explaining myself. It's Kesha.
Taylor Swift -【AMV】Death Note - Blank Space - What I said about the last Death Note AMV with a Taylor Swift song. It just works so well for a manipulative guy like Bill, but only when set to Death Note specifically. Why? I have no idea, it just hits different. It's like eating crackers with cheese whiz: not a healthy or fantastic snack by any means but sometimes I just want some junk food. Except this junk food manipulates people.
Kesha - Take It Off - Once again, will not explain my Kesha choices. You understand that Bill and the Henchmaniacs would be Kesha girlies or you don't.
Neil Cicierega - It's Gonna Get Weird - Giggles. Also funny enough, I don't listen to this all that often. Dunno why.
Gravity Falls Soundtrack - Is It Bottomless - Triangulum Entagulum - I mean, yeah.
Gravity Falls Soundtrack - A Very Tricky Triangle - I mean, yeah x2. I don't care if this might be cheating, I can do what I want. But also, isn't this such a FUN instrumental? I love the music they use for him in the show SO much. It's so sinister and otherworldly. Top-notch soundtracking.
Voltaire - Brains! - Oh, hey, I did add Brains! to this. Anyway, we can tell I was a Billy and Mandy kid so I'm gonna project that onto Bill. Also I'm 90% sure this is the last Voltaire song I have on the list. For now.
Trolls 3 - Mount Rageous [Extended Edition] - This is absolutely one of my most self-indulgent picks on the list, especially because I went straight for the one that includes the Sweet Dreams part of the song (because I guess the soundtrack doesn't actually have it?)
Anyway, it's a song all about faking it to make it, sung by people who have gone on to manipulate everyone around them by using others for their own abilities. So I think I at least have SOME excuse to connect it to Bill. Maybe? Possibly? I think so. Plus it fucks and actually got me to semi-care about the Trolls films again.
Alex Hirsch - We'll Meet Again - Giggles again.
Marina and The Diamonds - Bubblegum Bitch - Insert that post about always understanding whenever someone slaps Bubblegum Bitch onto a character playlist. That character's Miss Sugar Pink Liquor Liquor Lips now. Admittedly I don't have any other real reason for it to be on here, other than its extreme levels of cunt. Maybe Bill adds it to his party mix at Pyronica's request or something. Now THERE'S a Bubblegum Bitch.
Rihanna - Disturbia - Another song that gives me Bill and Ford vibes. Pretty self-explanatory, probably. Probably?
Malia J - Smells Like Teen Spirit - I also have the original version and the Weird Al parody down further on the playlist, and I tie them all to Bill in different ways. This one's for his more ominous and sinister side, where it's like 'I'm coming and I'm not leaving :)', whereas the original touches more on the 'teen/young adult revolutionary' side of things and the Weird Al cover is just because Weird Al. Also this cover is so pretty and chilling to me.
David Guetta ft.Sia - Titanium - This one's kind of a 'I could take it or leave it on here' song, admittedly, but also it gives me pre-Second Dimension-Destruction Bill vibes, in a twisted kind of sense. Like, he feels all powerful and like nobody can stop him...as he proceeds to make the worst mistakes of his life and destroys everything he knows. Might stew on this one and potentially remove it, but it can stay for now.
Ricky Martin - Livin' La Vida Loca - I feel like this one speaks for itself. He's insane. He's cah-RAZZYYYYY. Also it's a fun party song.
Freak Kitchen - Freak of the Week - This one just fucking rules. I'll admit connecting it to Bill outside of the title is a stretch, it's more a critique on people so desperate to achieve fame and fortune that they'll go as far as putting their own lives in danger to get it, whereas Bill is more likely to put others in danger to achieve his own goals.
But also he was willing to destroy the universe with himself inside it, for the sake of the most wild party imaginable. Also, desperate to seek fame and fortune without considering the dangers necessary to get there? Could always stretch further, say it's a Bill and Ford song. Either way, I'm keeping it on the playlist.
Christina Milian - Am to Pm - I've just really liked this song since I was like, ten, and it's a fun party song. Not all of Bill's party songs have to be super annoying, sometimes they can be bops. The bops make you lower your defenses. So when he drops a What Does The Fox Say? down the line, you're completely blindsided. Yes, it will be on here.
Viva La Vida - Coldplay - A human Bill song if I ever heard one. Another fairly basic choice, but again, I don't think it's a HUGE stretch to tie it to him. Plus again, insert that Top Forty Hits quote from Dipper here. They're in the top forty for a reason, they're CATCHY.
Eurobeat Brony - Discord (Remix) - Yeah.
Alina - When You Leave [Numa Numa] [Basshunter Radio Mix] - I told you this song was going to be all over the playlist. And we still haven't gotten to the original yet. Also fun fact; there was originally another version of the song before this one, but upon a relisten I was like 'Hmm, nah, it's good but I don't know if it's got that Bill energy.' Yes, I can and do compare Dragostea Din Tei covers for my Bill Cipher playlist like I'm comparing paint swatches at Home Depot. It's that important to me.
Switchfoot - Dare You To Move - I have no excuses for putting a song from a psuedo-Christian rock band on my Bill Cipher playlist outside of the sheer nostalgia factor, and I can't even pretend it's a one-off thing because there's another one of their songs further down the list. But CONSIDER; the Axolotl singing it to him. That's all I'm going to say. I will not apologize.
BB Cooper - Blame - To me, this is one of those songs about the feelings Bill probably tries to drown in lies. I realize it's a stretch, because we know he wouldn't actually stop and self-reflect in the way that the song does.
But at the same time...I could easily see someone making an animatic set to this song with Pre-Second-Dimension-Destruction Bill at the beginning and it switches to present-day Bill for the second half. I see the vision, even if I realize Bill would try his hardest NOT to see it.
Either that or he'll interpret it as a 'You see? I'm not the villain here. My tragic past is the real reason I'm like this.' song. But you know, there's always that thin thread that's tied to his past, before everything unfolded as it did. Where at some point, he really and truly wasn't to blame. Alas.
They Might Be Giants - Particle Man - Heehee hoohoo triangle man.
Tom Cardy (ft. Montaigne) - Red Flags UNO REVERSE - I added these two in reverse order, oops. Oh, well. I feel like it adds to the chaos.
Tom Cardy (ft. Montaigne) - Red Flags - Of course. Sidenote but this song is physically impossible to sing out loud in public unless you want some WEIRD looks from people.
Hudson Mohawke - Cbat - Tell me he wouldn't love this garbage.
Circus Music - Just circus music. Because he's a massive clown.
Earth Wind & Fire - Boogie Wonderland - Just a fun song, especially for parties.
Nicki Minaj - Super Bass - It feels so wrong to think of a party mix without it, and I feel like Bill would agree.
Toby Fox - Your Best Friend and Toby Fox - Your Best Nightmare - These two are tied together in that order, for pretty obvious reasons.
Simple Plan - I'm Just A Kid - I bounced back and forth with myself before eventually taking Teenagers by MCR off the playlist. I'm not doing that with this song. It just...it feels Bill, you know?
Maybe specifically my version of him, but also can't you imagine your own version of him blasting this at the age of like, fourteen? Am I wrong? I don't feel like I'm wrong. Also I might add Teenagers back onto the list, he needs more of those angsty teen songs.
Darude - Sandstorm - It's a meme, it's funny, it'd be a blast at parties.
Flo Rida ft. Kesha - I wouldn't count this as a Kesha song but also I could easily see them bumping it in the Fearamid.
Sia - Chandelier and Toad - Chandelier - Once again, a two-for-one special. I feel like Bill would enjoy both for various reasons. He can interpret it as just another party song, while ignoring the obvious darker implications behind the song of masking your true pain and emotions through a wild and reckless lifestyle. He'd probably love to get as literal as possible with it and try swinging from a chandelier. The Toad once is ear-splitting annoying. I think they fit
Florence and the Machine - Cosmic Love - This one is just for Mina. That's the only reason it's here.
Weird Al - Polka Face - Funny Weird Al song.
Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby - Drake suggested this one and it was right. I laughed and added it, then proceeded to get jumpscared by it when I shuffled the playlist this morning. So that was funny. Go, white boy, go.
Tim Rothrock & Jim Wise - Goofy Goober Rock - More Drake suggestions (this and the other Spongebob songs, along with a few others down the line), and this makes me smile extra hard because I've been in such a Spongebob mood lately :)
Spongebob - Jelly Fish Jam (4 Hour Edition) - Yes, the 4-hour edition specifically. If you're not jamming as much as the jellyfish did in the episode, you're doing something wrong.
Spongebob - Sweet Victory - Of course. Gotta honor the classics.
Weird Al - NOW That's What I Call Polka! - Another one of my personal favorite Weird Al polka mashups.
LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem - Would Bill be Team Party Rockers or Team Party Rock Is?
Cutting it off here because this playlist has over a hundred songs so far and I'm only at...57. How fun for me personally to stop there for the first part. Anyway, expect the next part in a bit.

You hadn’t thought twice when opening the door. It was late in the night, and you just wanted to answer the door and get it over with; to stop the loud banging that just wouldn’t go away. You turn on the table lamp near the couch as you make your way into the living room. Tucking yourself into a robe, you turned the knob and opened the door, rubbing the sleep from your eyes as you asked groggily, “Who is it—?”
Long hair, yellow eyes, and bruised knuckles with a hair tie around the wrist. Your ex, Baji Keisuke.
For a split second, you wondered what you should do. But without thinking it through, you clutched the door and attempted to slam it in his face. But he shoved his foot in the door, smiling lopsidedly at you as he pressed in further. He gradually worked his way into your home with ease.
You felt a strange sense of fear in your stomach. You hadn’t seen Baji in months after your breakup. Although he argued with you when you two broke up, he hadn’t bothered to contact you since. You thought he had moved on, but here he was. Stumbling into your living room and taking a seat on the couch, his head lolling as he let out an obnoxiously loud sigh.
You watched him for what felt like an entirety, subconsciously flinching whenever he made a move. You thought to call the police, but to get your phone you would have to make your way past him. And you didn’t have the guts to try.
He took a moment to glance around your apartment, looking somewhat confused. You vaguely remember having thrown out quite a few items when the two of you split, so your place must have looked different to him now.
He slowly turned his attention to you, his expression blank as his eyes raked over your face. He mumbled something under his breath as he took a swig from the beer bottle that you hadn’t noticed before. It was practically empty, as he shook the last couple of drops from it into his mouth. Your brows furrowed, you never knew Baji to be much of a drinker. He let out a burp, smiling at you when he finally noticed that you had been watching him the entire time.
“Miss me?” He said.
You slowly shook your head, backing up a couple steps. But there was nowhere to go. You were inches away from colliding with the front door. And you didn’t even think of running, knowing that he could easily catch up with you even in a drunken state.
“Baji,” you started firmly, trying your damnedest to remain cordial. “I think you should leave.”
“Oh, you think?” He spat, turning and twisting the bottle in his hand. Watching with vague interest how the dim light catches on the glass. “That’s funny.” He lets out a crude chuckle, glaring at you.
You merely stared back at him, not sure of what to say. You two didn’t end on good terms, that’s for sure.
“Did’ja think when you broke up with me for no—fucking—reason?” He punctuates each word with a tap of the butt of his beer bottle on the armrest of your couch. “Hmm, (Y/N)?”
“Baji, please.” You frowned, crossing your arms and trying to appear unafraid. But your hands are shaking like crazy. “You should just go—”
“S’not my name.” He mumbles. He looks at you again. But this time, there is no malicious glint in his eyes. He is merely looking at you and nothing more. Not glaring, or leering. Just looking. “You know that’s not m’name.”
“Yes, it is.” You say quietly. “That is your name. And now, I’m gonna have to ask you to leave, please—”
“Just stop it.” He says. He stands slowly, noticing immediately the way your shoulders hunch and you put your hands up as though you expect him to attack. He frowns at the sight, sucking his teeth as he approaches you steadily. “You know that’s not my name. You know my name… just say it.”
His large hand comes up to cup your face, you pull away. Your fingers fidgeting as you hesitate, thinking that you should push him away. Not that he would budge even if you did.
“Please, (Y/N).” His voice is soft and low. And he’s looking at you like you’re the most precious thing in the world. You haven’t seen those eyes—and that look—in so damn long. “Please.”
“Baji, you need to leave.”
“That’s not my name and you know it.” There’s a subtle bite in his tone, but his eyes are still soft. “Now, could you please just say it?”
“Baji,” you breath, clasping your hands in a pathetic attempt not to lose your cool. “I’m asking you to leave—”
“M’not leavin’ ‘til you gimme what I want.” He reaches forward, much faster than you can comprehend. You sputter and grab hold of his wrists, trying to pull him off of you. But he doesn’t waver. His palms squeezing your cheeks, a subtle ache in your jaw at the sudden pressure. “Scratch that, I wanna kiss. Gimme a kiss.”
You try to pull back, but he merely follows you. His lips closing in on yours while you shake your head, eyes blown wide as you desperately yank his arms. “Stop it! Baji, stop it!”
You felt scared. You had never felt this way with Baji before. Somewhere, in the deepest depths of your mind, you were terrified that he would win you over yet again. That’s the last thing you wanted. You and him broke up because you became known as his girlfriend and nothing more. His personality and presence was so big that it completely swallowed yours.
You just wanted to be your own person. And he didn’t understand that then. You didn’t expect him to understand now either. So you never bothered to mention it, not even during the argument that ended your relationship.
You had left him without a spoken reason.
“S’Keisuke. Not Baji… You know that.” He says quietly, his lips a breath away from yours, your head still trapped between his calloused hands. “Kiss me. Do it now.”
“Get off of me,” you cry.
You should’ve run. You know you should’ve. You should’ve at least tried. But you didn’t. Your thoughts ran rampant, and you found that your own subconscious was ruthlessly blaming you for this situation. Thinking that you didn’t really want to break up with Baji, and that you just came up with a reason out of the blue. Baji was a good boyfriend, after all. But it was more so about how you felt like an accessory to him, rather than an equal.
He was just so important, and popular, and—just everything.
You knew it wasn’t his fault. You just needed some time to yourself to figure out who you were, and it ended up being months rather than a mere break. Now that you knew your worth, you didn’t have the guts to come back to him and tell him how you really felt. You didn’t have the guts to bring a genuine conclusion to it.
You had unknowingly hurt yourself by not voicing your opinion. And you didn’t know it yet, but you also hurt him just as much by ending your relationship without spoken reason. The more you thought about it, the sicker you felt. You just wanted him out of your home, so that you had a second to think before you made a decision you would regret.
“What’s your problem!” You shout, squirming in his grasp. “You’re drunk! Just go home!”
“Yeah?” He bites back. “Duh! And guess whose fault that is?”
You blink, your struggling momentarily halted. Whose fault…?
“S’yours, if you’re wondering.” His voice is quieter than before. His eyes are boring into yours. “I don’t drink—didn’t. Not ‘til…” He trails off, but you know what he’s getting at. And your heart shatters at the realization.
He notices your expression, it’s conflicted but he misunderstands. From his perspective, your blank stare is degrading; like you’re looking down on him. He doesn’t like that at all.
“Like you’re doing any better!” He says, eyes narrowing. “You’ve got problems too, I can see it!”
You don’t dare to speak, knowing that you might say something that’ll only make matters worse.
“You don’t think I saw that shit?” He says, glaring at you. He tugs you just a little closer and you feel your resolve crack some in return. “The way you flinched—like I was gonna hurt you or something. I wouldn’t do that, you know that!”
“Just stop it!” You rasp, your hands clutching his.
God, you don’t want to blurt out the real reason behind your breakup. After hearing the shit he’s put himself through, you don’t have the guts to tell him that it was nothing he did that caused the breakup.
Tears are brimming in your eyes as you stare back at his frowning face. “Stop it, Kei—”
There’s a moment of silence. So silent that your ears ring. He is no longer looking at you with that hard expression. His eyes are wide, brows raised, lips down-turned almost in a pout but not quite. “Kei?” He repeats quietly under his breath, eyes lingering on your face. He can feel your skin warm under his touch. And the brief sound of your name on his tongue has his heart beating hard. “Go on… Say it.”
“Don’t wanna,” your lips tug down, the backs of your eyes burning. You were gonna cry.
“Say it,” he releases his grip on your face. His hand comes up to wrap around the back of your neck, his thumb rubbing over your skin. He can even feel your pulse thrumming beneath the flesh. “Say it, and I’ll go… Promise.”
You don’t believe him and rightfully so. You shouldn’t believe him. And even still, you find his name rolling off your tongue. You think at the very least, you can give him that. After your breakup caused him so much hurt, and you still hadn’t given him a good reason.
“Again,” he whispers. His eyes never leave yours. “Say it again.”
“I can’t—”
“You can.” He presses, his grip tightening. You can feel him pulling you in; pulling you closer.
“Please, Baji—”
“You know my name.” He says, his voice lacking the strength from before. “S’only been a couple of months, you couldn’t have forgotten already.”
You see the sad look in his eyes and you break. Repeating his name just like he asked of you. And you don’t even get a chance to tell him the real reason behind your breakup as he places a chaste kiss on your lips.
Just one, then two, then three. Each longer than the last. And his grip is so strong that you couldn’t pull away even if you wanted to. But you don’t want to, and he knows it.
He pulls away slowly, his eyes racking over your face again. He looks at you like he’s afraid he’ll forget what you look like. Or that if he looks away, you’ll disappear.
And he knows he’s being selfish by asking you again and again. But he can’t stop himself, having not heard your voice in months. His teeth biting at his lower lip as he runs his tongue over the flesh, trying to remember your taste.
“Can you…” he pauses, knowing damn well that he’s being selfish and stringing you back in. He knows he’s gonna win you over. He just knows it because he knows you. And he just can’t bring himself to stop. “Can you say it...just one more time?”
