Just read the last chapter of Sun-burned beauty and I think my brain broke lmao
Zed and tango are so PERFECT for each other and DHGSVRVSBRBSHSBBD ZED IS SO SHAMELESS TANGO IS NEVER GONNA HEAR THE END OF IT FROM JOEL AND LIZZIE
Also ive been thinking about how each character might react to seeing Zed with the courtship necklace. Who do you think would have the most extreme reaction? I’m loving where their relationship is going!! :DD
(It took me so long to get to this 😭)
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!!! Zed is so shameless and Tango cannot stop him!
Oooo, I think as far as extreme, Bdubs would be the most explosive...but as far as actual terror I mean..it's gotta be Doc and Etho, doesn't it? XD

"The Promening" review
No time for an intro, IT’S THE PROM EPISODE!!
I’m still really liking the Glitch Productions opening theme. I wonder if they would ever consider making a longer version of it? I challenge any song writers here or on YouTube to make a song about it.
Lights turning themselves off, not ominous at all.
(Reading missing poster) Great even in the distant future, The Office is still around.
If there machines, why do the drones need to wear glasses when they could replace them with spare parts? Then again having “spare parts” of fellow drones would probably be creepy.
So the metallic insects aren’t a part of Doll’s powers but are their own organisms.
I’m not going to question the drone with the burning hat, as it doesn’t matter….literally as he is a robot and fire can’t hurt robots.
Though it shows her crazy side, it’s nice to see Uzi trying to protect N when she realizes he is a suspect.
Uzi’s mother was crazy too!
Again, nice to see Uzi’s father try and help her.
Hanging out with the cheerleaders AND having your parent chaperoning a dance, this IS an angsty teens nightmare XD
N’s dramatic NO XD
Callback AND N is starting to remember his past!
It was cute seeing the bug wave to Uzi when she stops to not step on it.
Looks likes Lizzy knows Doll isn’t a regular Drone AND is working with her. A bit surprising but fitting with her bitchy personality.
When you ignore the head slicing (especially since DD’s can regenerate) it’s nice to see V caring about N.
The scene of Uzi’s DD powers activating every time she touches her left hand is interesting as it hints at her eventually learning to control it. However wouldn’t it be more fitting if she used her right hand as not only does it differ from Doll but that was the hand that got stabbed by N in the pilot.
So Doll IS a DD spy and want to let in V!
Blood? Or is the light effecting the color?
Wear the suit N!
Man Uzi is a fast and silent stacker!
Oh yeah, I’ve seen many Friday Night Funkin videos where Ruv has said that. Classic saying.
N IS WEARING THE SUIT!! :D
And Uzi X N shippers rejoiced!
Cat face Uzi :3
I give up, does anyone see a Waldo in the prom audience?
Drones doing the robot. Saddest shit you will ever see.
GO Thad!
Khan (after seeing teacher drinking): Does that even do anything for you?
Teacher (after swig): Not anymore.
Chibi robot poster!
The idea of Lizzy and V hanging out is interesting to me and I REALLY HOPE we see them interacting like this in later episodes, maybe actually becoming friends in the process or more as I think Lizzy might be a lesbian as she did say V was hotter then Doll.
So Doll’s plan isn’t to get with N OR help the DD cause but get revenge on V!
Knowing Lizzy is the daughter of the principal must mean something, even if it’s just knowing he will likely kick Uzi out of school cause his daughter was in danger. At least then she could go and find out what is going on with N.
That robot speaking after Rebecca, and saying V is cute to a female drone (maybe his date?) is another small example of how random and funny the shows humor is.
“Not… THE DOORS!” XD XD XD
OH NO! Doll’s plans is to Carrie V!
So Doll’s origins are that she witnessed V killing her parents, and now wants revenge. This ends my theory about her wanting to be with N, BUT NOW make me wonder who the new robot in N’s flashback is supposed to be?
That symbol’s new! I mean it’s just the hexagon with electron like rings around it, but still it must mean something.
As seen on Doll’s HUD, we now know that the telekinetic/ferrokinetic powers don’t work on things like itself, in this case Uzi, giving us more confirmation that Uzi is not an average worker drone.
Aww Uzi and N’s first flirt fight.
Trailer scene!
Bye Doll, you will be missed. At least now we can get some answers.
IDK why but just see Uzi and the others glowing eyes in the dark was pretty funny. Though how come N and V’s acid and head lights weren’t glowing until the lights came on?
N also doesn’t squish the bug. Uzi X N CONFIRMED XD
It’s funny how the dramatic scene of Uzi about to eat MD oil is just followed by an out of range shot of her finger being pulled out with a pop, and N giving her a thumbs up not knowing what happened.
Doll! Wow she can make some really cool holograms. I hope she uses that more to fight Uzi and the others in the future as that is the kind thing I want to see in later villains.
We finally see Uzi use her powers! It’s also interesting that Doll’s first reaction is that she is sorry for Uzi, but after seeing Uzi’s necklace having the same symbol as Doll’s bracelet makes it understandable. It also gives me a new theory about Doll and Uzi but more on that later, I can say that Uzi and Doll aren’t like this because they were infected by Disassembly Drones.
The other Murder Drones have arri IS THAT A HUMAN?
I’m kind of hoping it’s not as I have previously stated my want to get new robot models in the show. Maybe she could be that robot from N's flashback but was altered differently. If it is, then either JCJ has developed tight outfits that can protect wearers from radiated planets OR most likely, the planet was never hazardous but people think that that so humans can go back to the planet. As for why I’ll explain at the end of the video.
J 2.0!!!! I wonder if she’s bitchier than the OG J?
At least with this Tessa character, we now know how Uzi and the others will get to Earth now.
Another great episode with an interesting theme and a few new villains that we can expect to see in future episodes. Out of all we learned in this episode, I now have a new theory about what is going on with Uzi and Doll.
Though we don’t know much about JCJenson still, we can safely say they built robots and likely wanted to make better models as the company grew. I theorized that while on the planet, the corporation tested out a new advance version of the Worker Drones who had the ability to interact with metal and electrical objects, which would make moving heavy items and fixing computer errors easier and cut cost on making more drones and hiring humans to do that kind of stuff.
Of course something went wrong with their programming and these “Hacker Drones” as I’ll call them went rogue when they wanted to live regular lives like humans and caused chaos on the planet, likely being the real reason why the planet exploded as seen in the pilot. Now free of their human creators, the “Hacker Drones” were able to blend in with the Worker Drones and finally live their own lives alongside them, some even having kids like Doll and Uzi’s mothers who inherited their abilities which were unlocked when going through their unique traumas.
Realizing having robots like this still around could be dangerous, JCJenson created the Dissassembly Drones to hunt and destroy them BUT since the “Hacker Drones” looked like the average Worker Drone, they had no choice but to lie and quarantine the planet and have the Disassembly Drones hunt every robot just to be safe, and to prevent there company from bad press.
What did you think about the episode? What was your favorite part and do YOU have any theorizes about what will happen later in the series?

Here are my reactions to Bdubs's first Secret Life episode!
EPISODE STARTS WITH ETHUBS GREAT START I'M LOVING THIS ALREADY 👏👏👏
Bdubs really digs his mine ONE BLOCK AWAY FROM ETHO'S 😭😭😭 I'm telling you this man is NOT OKAY
This is like them pissing together except mining 1 block apart from each other (cuz they're not gay)
"You can't even tell your best friend" you mean yourself? "You can't even tell me" yup.
"I really wanna tell you really bad" I'M TELLING YOU THIS IS THE PERFECT START.
LIZZIE IS BACK NOW I ACTUALLY FEEL THE HYPE HELLOOOOO!!!!
Mesa on the map 👀
Bdubs feels so bad about killing horses god bless his pure soul 😭😭
Oh so they can't regenerate AT ALL once they lose their hearts they are GONE. No potions no gapples nothing
YOU CAN GIFT HEARTS??? this is huge
"My boy Bdubs" Etho is also not okay
Bdubs in Last Life gives Etho a shield bc Etho forgets them all the time... This season Etho remembers the shields first and then makes Bdubs one.... And they giggle so sweetly :( I HATE THEM...
And now they're reminiscing about good old times. Great
MUMBO IS ALSO IN IT???? How many people do we have this time?! Is Ren in this one?
They didn't play on 1.18 generation in LimLife where everyone died left and right but they DO play it on the season where you can't regenerate hearts. Awesome decision making
Paused on this bit and just want to say. Team STEM
Aww Mumbo Pearl and Bdubs neighbors? :O :D
That was just three nicknames in a row with no pause in between. Skizz comes in saying "Pearlie-Pop! :D" Pearl goes "Skizzlie!! :D" and Bdubs instantly goes "Hey Skizzie!!!" They are so silly and whimsical
Bdubs: Hey Skizz i have words of affirmation for you
Skizz: That's so last season 🙄
Bdubs: *collects Cleo's wheat* nothing to see here! Just borrowing some stuff! 🥰
Cleo: Oh that's fine , they're not mine, they're Lizzie's :D
Bdubs: OH SHOOT*glues the sugar cane back on*
I see this man has his priorities straight 😭😭
THEY GET OP REWARDS FOR COMPLETING SECRET TASKS???
BDUBS REALLY SUGGESTED HIM MUMBO AND PEARL BE CALLED AXIS THANK GOODNESS CLEO WS THERE
So Bdubs is now sort of in a team with Mumbo and Pearl. The question is though: will be be undyingly loyal to them 🤔
The rock thing with the rewards is so watcher-core you just know the watcher fandom will eat well this season LMAO
Cleo: Hey Bdubs where's your boyfriend?
Bdubs: Etho is...
That's it. I'm done. This season has peaked. I don't even know what to say anymore. I'm quitting. My career is over. I don't have anything else to do or say I'm done.
I CAN'T BELIEVE BDUBS ANSWERED BEFORE FULLY PROCESSING WHAT CLEO SAID. HIS BRAIN JUST WENT "My boyfriend? Oh yeah that's Etho" i actually flat out CANNOT believe it's only the first episode and is already gayer than Last Life 😭😭😭
Riding a camel wearing a helmet (against the rules) holding tnt like a slut he is
I wonder if the admins themselves assign everyone their tasks. Whether that's the case or not, it's VERY ironic that Bdubs, a master builder, gets a task to build the ugliest house known to man and people end up looking at it and going "what a creative idea!" and decide to make it there gimmick as well.
ETHO'S TASK IS TO GET EVERYONE TO SLEEP AT NIGHT?! THAT'S CRUEL MAN i can't wait to hear him whine and whimper about it in his video
Joel wants to build a mound as well? 👀 Bdubs and Joel alliance? 👀
THE MOLES. GREAT
Mumbo's "tell a bunch of puns" and Etho's "get everyone to sleep at once" you can clearly see who is watchers' favorite etc etc
Scar threatens to burn down Jimmy's house againSJJDKDKDKFJJDJ
Skizz: *hears Bdubs's secret* i do that without a task xD
Skizz: we're all pretty old, maybe our island is called Heart Problems 😭😭 he says out of nowhere
Can't believe Tango and Skizz lit up their island and get attacked by 2 baby zombies, a creeper, a witch and a Trident drowned 😭😭😭

black butler meandering
I had the idea that Doll got to the Kelvin manor in time to see/find out everything, and is horrified by what was happening to the kids, and seeing it, she can’t justify it, and all she can remember now is the others always scolding her for being to soft, for not wanting to kidnap children, to murder innocent people, Sebastian also corrects her on who was the one to actually let slip the pertinent information. The fact that Beast was willing to let her shoulder all the blame hurts, and seeing Ciel’s reaction to the basement area, hearing even some of what happened to him, when he shoots Kelvin she feels relieved, and can’t quite bring herself to run to Joker’s side after Sebastian cuts his arm off.
Doll pulls on Sebastian’s coat, as the Doc is going to kill the little girl and tells him “you can’t let him live” and Ciel gives the order through his panic. Doll’s pretty numb, but manages to stop Ciel when he Sebastian to burn down the manor and killing everyone. She goes with them to find the old orphanage/workhouse long derelict and abandoned, and slips into a slight catatonic state.
She remain that way for quite awhile, after a month of careful tending she comes out of it, surprised to find herself not stowed away in a hospital, kicked out into the street, or even at the very least a back servants room, but instead in one of the guest rooms of Phantomhive Manor, dressed in a soft, fine flannel nightgown. She cries a little, because maybe, maybe Smile, maybe he really meant their handshake, and maybe she’d
She asks Ciel to “give her a new name” as she no longer wishes to be Doll. Ciel decides on Eleanor, with “Nell” as an affectionate nickname. She goes to the Circus once, to explain to the others that she and Joker and the rest will not be returning, appointing a new ringmaster, and collecting Snake, and sadly telling him the whole truth. He chooses to stay with her, “Smile” and “Black” and becomes a Phantomhive footman.
She officially becomes “Eleanor Michaelis” supposedly Sebastian’s niece/cousin/distant relative orphaned and come to live with them (though many, including Lizzy’s brother are positive she’s Ciel’s mistress....)
Lizzy herself is delighted to have a girl her age with whom she can be close and helps “Nell” integrate with the world (and helps design her lovely clothes)
“Nell” and Lizzy become close and so when Ciel is invited aboard to Campania, so is she, Nell is impressed, along with Ciel, over Lizzy’s swordsmanship and (Ciel isn’t sure how the subject even came up) both girls decided that they would both be the future wife of the queen’s guard dog. (when ciel splutters both girls are offended and ask is there is anything wrong with them, does he not wish to marry them?) Ciel gives up at this point and Sebastian is deeply amused.
“Nell” is with them during the emerald witch arc and takes to Sieglinde right away, and after explaining (to Ciel’s horror) how she and Lizzy are both Ciel’s fiancé’s Sieglinde takes a shine to the idea and after things go down, hopes that Lizzy will agree to allowing her to also become Ciel’s fiancé.
Ciel’s Aunt talks to him about Nell and Sieglinde and after realizing that the girls are the ones going for the idea, decides it might not be such a bad one, as the wife of the queen’s guard dog is a dangerous and lonely position.
She even manages to find old/ancient records that sort of allow for multiple wives and after queen Victoria meets with the young ladies in question, she agrees and gives royal dispensation for the future marriages (partly because ensuring Sieglinde is married to a loyal British subject will be quite useful. Also Nell and Lizzy’s dual ability to ensure Ciel doesn’t go to far is a bonus.
Ciel is rather put out over not actually being consulted on any of this, but it does seem to please the girls and with Nell and Sieglinde to occupy more of her time, Lizzy doesn’t try making the mansion “cute” all that much anymore nor does she harass the servants quite as much.
(it takes quite a bit of explaining to Soma and Agni why a royal dispensation was even needed for having multiple wives during with Ciel’s forehead vein nearly burst and he ends up with Soma trying to get him to also marry one of his sisters)
Sebastian and Ciel do slowly realize they are in love as well, and the ladies don’t really mind, and well, Ciel, Sieglinde, and Nell all agree that watching a sword bout between Sebastian and Lizzy is very, very appealing.
Lord Grey comes around more and more as the years go by, and his attempts at courtship/flirting are so odd that no one actually realizes he’s trying to woo them until Phipps steps in because he’s fed up with the bizarre mooning.
Also, turns out Snake can lay eggs and Ciel is quite glad that he has so many wives as it makes it easier to hide how he ended up with two extra children.
Concerning the twin ciel’s thing I go with Nell especially being positive that Lizzy is on their side as is biding her time, and that she actually had guessed that Ciel wasn’t the original one, as when the spoke of them she always called real!Ciel “the ciel from before” and our!ciel “my ciel” and seemed to be refering to different people.
*I do have a vague idea of future children (okay lots mostly i love names XD)
Ciel/Lizzy - first child and first son Vincent Fredrick Phantomhive
Ciel/”Nell” - Rachel Angelina Francis Vinette Phantomhive
Sebastian/Lizzy - (surprise baby, lizzy found herself craving and eating almost solely raw meat throughout this pregnancy) Carmilla Esther Adelaide Phantomhive
Ciel/Sieglinde - Wilhelmine Victoriana Emerald Estelle Phantomhive
Ciel/Nell - Leander Granville Phantomhive
Sebastian/Sieglinde - Ambrose Victor Phantomhive
Ciel/Lizzy - Lucian Sebastian Phantomhive

How would you sort Caroline Forbes ?
I want everyone to know that despite TVD/TO characters being veeery hard to sort, I believe Caroline Forbes is a Snake Lion and I will die on this hill :))
The Lion secondary was very easy to see: she puts her foot in the mouth by telling the truth, she has to learn to lie, she was a horrible secret keeper, her approach to things is always direct and, after becoming a vampire, pretty violent xDD. I mean, her first instinct when seeing an obstacle is either fight/kill them or compel them to leave. Also, I just remembered that her approach to getting Klaus to talk to Hope in TO was yelling hard truths at him and ordering him around. Very Lion of her xDD. She adopts a Snake secondary model somewhere mid-season 2 (because you cannot survive in Mystic Falls without one) and becomes better and better at it.
Her Snake primary is a bit more complicated, but for me it kinda boils down to how could she have thrived in TVD and not be a Snake primary?
Snake is really the only primary that fits all three of Caroline's "personalities": human Caroline, vampire Caroline and emotionless Caroline.
Her off-version seems like the definition of a young/immature Snake primary (the following definition taken from @wisteria-lodge ):
"YOUNG SNAKES are what most people think of when they hear the word “immature.” Hedonist, instant gratification, what feels good now. They are the center of their universe, and traits like not... really caring about consequences, not really caring about other people... are amplified. I also think that Young Snakes have a tendency to get unhealthily obsessed with their first romantic partner."
Her human version seems a bit burned, probably because she felt somehow betrayed by her parents' divorce and isolated by her friends. I read the entire season 1 as Caroline's attempt to find a meaningful connection, and she tries it with everyone: first Stefan, then Damon, then Matt.
Vampire!Caroline is the healthiest version of Caroline because she gets to reconnect with her mom, forms a meaningful (if unbalanced) relationship with her vampire mentor and I think she also adds Tyler in her 'inner circle'.
(I also think it was the Snake in her that was veeeery flattered by Klausie's attention. While the same Snake never cared about him at all, lol)
And one final thing: iirc, Caroline turns it off after her mother dies and Stefan rejects her aka losing Her People.
I think by the end of the series she had Stefan in her inner circle, but also Josie and Lizzie, so she wasn't too destroyed by Stefan dying. And I think that Damon, Bonnie and Alaric are all on the verge of being in her inner circle, but ...not really xD (look, we Snakes, have concentric circles, ok?)

Can you recommend some musicals? I never watched a musical 😱😂
Oh!! !!
Okay so the only musicals I've actually seen are Aladdin, Wizard of Oz, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in theatre. And Come From Away via bootleg on YouTube. But I do listen to a lot of musicals, so... I'm gonna recommend from whatever I'm familiar with, is that okay? Hah ^^
If you like a splash of HISTORY with your showtunes:
Bonnie & Clyde || Blues, Gospel and Rockabilly: A D E F I N E T E personal favourite of mine. Oh my god, I love it. Aside from romanticising criminals, its amazing! Beautiful music, and multiple love stories to actually enjoy ^^ - if you can separate it from the real thing. I know some people cant and are uncomfortable with stuff like that (Especially with Lizzie, which I'm gonna talk about after Hamilton) but if you just enjoy Jeremy Jordan and Laura Osnes you're good XD
Hamilton || Hip Hop- I just put this here because everyone (Seemingly, except me) love it and you probably will too! ^^
Lizzie || Punk Rock Opera: Another All Girl musical! Cuz we can never have enough of these ^^ This time its about Lizzie Borden and her murdering her father and her stepmother in 1892 (So this isn't everyone's cup of tea, obviously). I'm loving it at the moment though because, again, the actor's voices are all gorgeous, and emotive, and music is amazingly written and passionate.
Six || British Pop music: This is about Henry the Eighths 6 wives (Divorced, Beheaded, Died, Divorced, Beheaded, Survived) and what happened to them. It involves them explaining THEIR side of the story (Whether its historically accurate or not) and trying to decide 'Who had it worst?'. Its just... so much girl power, and the costumes are so colourful and cool, and the actors are all so t a l e n t e d, and are all very cool too ^^
If you like VILLAINS- which you probably do. You are here on this blog after all ^^ :
Be More Chill || Pop Rock: Hooooly crap, the Squip (Super Quantum Intel Processor) is hot. Way too hot. Its no far. He's literally a computer. But anyway, the musical (And book) is about this teenage boy that climbs the ranks of school social hierarchy by swallowing down a pill from Japan that has a supercomputer in it designed to help him get popular and 'more chill'. Its very popular and for good reason- I definitely recommend 'The Squip Song', if nothing else!
Beetlejuice: If you didn't like the movie version of BJ, you might actually like this one! Alex Brightman's version is a little less totally disgusting, while still upkeeping that familiar gross, flirty vibe that defines him.
Heathers || Rock: Whether you listen to the original Broadway cast or the West End version, you get a myriad of antagonistic/villainous characters to choose from, varying from the lunkhead football players, to bitchy 90's Mean Girls, to the man of the hour JD who is basically Billy Loomis with pyromaniacal tendencies. This is another one about a teenager climbing the ranks of social hierarchy in highschool- but this time, with murder.
Mean Girls || Rock: Basically, modern Heathers! Regina George is a super villain in her own right, e s e p e c i a l l y in the musical version of the story. Songs like 'Apex Predator' and 'World Burn' really give her that impressive, badass, wicked energy that sets your villain senses alight haha XD
Moulin Rouge || Pop : Oh my god oh my god, my favourite. This is Jukebox musical which means its made entirely of covers of pre-existing songs (Highlights from Katy Perry, Elton John and Pink feature) mushed together to make a story. The Duke is the villain in this story and he is such an evil, possessive Sugar Daddy. Like a Disney Villain with actual sexual references.
If you want your heart warmed!:
Come From Away || Traditional Musical Theatre styles and Traditional Nefoundland orchestrations: Okay I know I said Moulin Rouge was my favourite... but Come From Away is REALLY my favourite. This is about 9/11, but not the violent parts. This is about all those passengers in planes that day that survived, but couldn't touch down in the USA that day so had to stay in Canada. It follows multiple storylines with (Real life) people dealing with what has happened and what could have happened to them, among other things. Okay my description has done nothing for this magnificent show but trust me, its fricken magnificent.
Legally Blonde: Okay I think most of us are familiar with Legally Blonde but in case you aren't!- An 'air head blonde' works hard and gets into Law school in order to prove to 'the love of her life' that she is serious, until she realises that he is a piece of crap and that she actually likes Law and that she can help people with this and beats him out in classes. Its just *chefs kiss*. We stan women being themselves and being as feminine as they goddamn like and that not having anything to do with their IQ.
~
I also recommend & Juliet (Juke Box musical; 'If Juliet didn't die at the end': Representation), and 35MM (Theirs some REALLY GOOD, DARK stuff in there).

AU Thursday: Tell Me Where To Find Shelter -- Weird And Complicated Video Game Crossover AUs Strike Again
Okay, so last week I offered you all an updated rewrite on my old Fallout 4 Sole Survivor!Victor AU, Tell Me Where To Find Shelter. And at the very end of said update, I let you know that I had an idea for fitting Alice into the AU --
Specifically, my Malkavian Alice from Vampire: the Masquerade -- Bloodlines.
Look, the fact of the matter is, Fallout 4 and Bloodlines have been rather closely connected in my head from day one of my purchasing them -- hell, I got them during the same Steam sale! (Along with the BioShock series entire, which is why I had a couple of posts about Tell Me Where to Find Shelter back in 2016, then it dropped off the face of the earth -- I played Bloodlines first, and followed up with that series.) And my “Londerland Bloodlines” playthrough of Bloodlines was done concurrently with my starting up Fallout 4, so -- yeah. Me wanting to figure out how to cross the two over was probably inevitable.
I know what you’re all thinking, of course -- “how the hell do you make this sort of crossover work?” Well, I have had a few ideas:
-->This version of Malkavian Alice and her adventures in 2004 Los Angeles would be much more like the standard fledgling’s, given that the Corpse Bride characters are now born in the future. So the person she saves in the hospital is Heather (who she does manage to send away in time to save her life), and the Giovanni party goes down without dragging an undead version of Lizzie into the mix. Obviously the story and setting would have to be tweaked to fit better into Fallout’s alternate history (though given what the computers in the original game are like, maybe that’s easier than expected). She still goes Independent, and escapes from Los Angeles in the wake of LaCroix’s explosive death, making her way slowly but surely to the East Coast because she has had enough of California and everyone there.
-->She manages to get on with her unlife, watching the growing tensions with China and the Resource Wars with unease, but keeping to herself and doing her best not to let her humanity slip as she gets older. When the bombs fall, she’s sleeping the day away in a basement bunker she set up in Boston -- but the destruction from the explosion ends up collapsing part of the ceiling, burying her in rubble -- with a chunk of timber piercing her heart. She ends up in a staked torpor. . .
-->Until Victor shows up at her location at night to clear out a few raiders who are taking over the place as a base. One of the raiders yanks out the stake to use as a weapon, has three seconds to wonder why it’s got fresh blood on it -- then Alice explodes from her centuries-long hiding place and drinks him dry. Victor is too stunned at first to actually shoot her, and once Alice’s blood thirst has been quest, she immediately puts her hands up and does her best to show she means him no harm. They talk, Alice explains what happened (and goes ahead and admits she’s a vampire when Victor explains about the nuclear apocalypse -- who gives a shit about the Masquerade when the world has ended?), she offers to help with the remaining raiders to prove her good intentions, Victor accepts, and they take down the assholes together.
-->Obviously, Alice isn’t immediately “unlockable” as a companion -- she’s still got her sunlight thing, after all! She and Victor chat about it, and Victor, feeling bad, offers his assistance. Alice accepts -- she misses the sun -- and says that she’ll stay where she is for the moment (after finding a non-partially-collapsed basement to stay in) and keep raiders and monsters out while he searches for information. And so the “Here Comes The Sun” quest begins, with Victor searching for a way to counteract the sunlight curse! I’m thinking this would end up interacting with the Cabot family stuff, because I don’t think it would be hard at all to change the source of their immortality, and the artifact upon Lorenzo’s head, from something alien to something vampiric. Maybe Lorenzo’s partially possessed by the spirit of an Antediluvian, and it’s turned his blood into something close enough to vitae it can make ghouls? At any rate, Jack manages to whip something up after examining some of Alice’s blood (which, naturally, she’s kind of nervous about, but what choice does she have?), and it successfully stops her from burning up in sunlight (though she is weaker in it). A grateful Alice thanks Victor (and Jack) and agrees to travel with him to experience the Commonwealth.
-->As they go on together, they end up getting closer -- Alice likes that Victor is generally a good guy and sympathizes with the story of his lost family; Victor likes Alice’s snarky wit and strong sense of justice. As they share more details of their lives, help out the settlements, and battle monsters together, they realize they’re growing feelings for each other, and eventually get together, facing off against the Institute as a couple and parenting Synth Shaun/Chester together afterwards. (Alice jokes a lot that it took both her dying and the end of the world in general to finally get a domestic happy ending.)
-->Alice’s starting clothes would be a simple blue dress and apron with black buckled boots (the dress would naturally have a big bloody hole right over her heart when she first wakes up; she patches this after you leave her to her own devices for a bit), and she’d have the Tal’Mahe’Ra Blade (her prize from her storming of the Hallowbrook Hotel, taken from Andrei’s lair) as her standard weapon. She has a unique bite attack, being a vampire, and can still use Obfuscate (turning invisible to sneak past/sneak attack enemies) and Dementation (inflict debuffs on enemies so they’re confused and can’t shoot straight, or kill a single enemy from fear alone), though both have a cooldown so Victor can’t rely on her just spamming that to take care of every raider for him! XD Her perk would allow you to drain blood from enemy corpses (which other companions would find less disturbing than outright cannibalism, but still fairly creepy) and/or increase the healing capabilities of blood packs. I’m thinking, once romanced, she’d also have a unique variation of the “Lover’s Embrace” temporary perk, “Love Bite” -- Victor wakes up with HP not fully restored, but the XP boost is greater than “Lover’s Embrace” (+20% vs +15%).
-->Other vampiric elements of the Commonwealth would include:
A) That blood bank you can find? Those bags of blood are warm and fresh because there’s a Tremere there who has built up their power and knows some rituals for preserving the stuff. Unfortunately, they’re also very low humanity by this point, so they end up being a nasty surprise fight.
B) There’s a secret settlement of vampires that is made up of all the various fledglings you could pick from in Bloodlines, having learned to live together after the destruction of vampire society along with human when the bombs fell. The local Tremeres managed some blood sorcery that infused a mutfruit tree with human blood, so plasma fruit, a la The Sims 4, is a thing for them, and allows them to live in relative peace with their human neighbors (though they’ll happily drain anyone who attacks them). They’d probably have a quest revolving around either talking down or killing some vampire hunters who have been eying their base, and they could be persuaded to allow Jack Cabot and family to study them in exchange for vitae to help them stay in their immortal states. Also, the Malkavians openly call Victor the “Sole Survivor” and offer roundabout tips on his quests -- if he can decipher them. XD
C) This is just one that amuses me -- this universe’s Mysterious Stranger is none other than good old Caine! He’s trying to be a little more helpful to mortal and Kindred alike in the post-apocalypse, and has decided this means “showing up randomly to help people out of tight spots before vanishing again.” Alice, upon seeing him, jokes that the cabdriver thing didn’t work out, huh?
D) I’d kind of like to make stimpacks developed from vampire or ghoul blood to explain just how it is they can heal crippled limbs so fast -- the wiki didn’t provide much of an answer there! Which means anyone who uses them is at least slightly a ghoul. . .which might explain a few things about carry weight and why some enemies are so tough. (Legendaries have more vitae in their system, prompting the power-up, maybe?)
So yeah -- that’s how I’d get Bloodlines and Fallout to work together, and thus have my Malkavian!Alice and Sole Survivor!Victor be a couple in the wasteland. Because why make a crossover simple when I could make it way more complicated than it needs to be? XD Look, I just like the mental images I have of them together -- and of Alice taking out a whole army of baddies by hitting them with Voice of Bedlam to throw them into absolute chaos.
#tell me where to find shelter#fallout 4#vampire the masquerade bloodlines#vtmb#valice#weird ass AUs#look this was probably inevitable#given the whole 'Londerland Bloodlines' fic keeping my brain at least partially in vampire land#and the fact that I just really love vampire!Alice with Victor#still this is a lot of thought for an AU#that is going to be snippets of fic at BEST#I can only novelize one RPG#and it's going to be the one with a smaller world and fewer sidequests#still I like a lot of these ideas#and the resultant mental images#'Voice of Bedlam' is the top tier Dementation ability in Bloodlines btw#it inflicts all the below levels randomly on the target and anyone near them#so you'd have people laughing or crying maniacally#people experience weird hallucinations that drop their combat abilities#people just plain old dying of fright#and people attacking each other randomly#(naturally Alice would activate it via a Hysteria scream)#she'd be the most terrifying thing in the Commonwealth#I love it :D#as does Victor XD#queued

Translation Ducky made: “Ciel could have survived.” BABY, NO, YOU SHOULDN’T BE OK WITH “it’d be fine if Ciel sacrificed me!” I’m not ok. My god. Though I’m a little peeved the flashbacks are continuing, I wholeheartedly agree that this deserved a chapter to itself. (But seriously Yana, we get it now.) We just need the contract, the ring and action of Seb killing the cultists, right? (Where u @ Elizabeth.) I feel like it’ll take a lot of curves to avoid OC’s name. The lack in the flashback
Hi Anon! No worries though, you’re free to have a different opinion about our!Ciel’s name, and it’s not because I personally think we won’t learn about his true identity in this arc (if at all) that I’m right or anything, as always. :3
I can totally understand people being annoyed with him not being “called” in the flashbacks (or in future chapters), but personally I’d rather have him only referred to as “Ciel” in the story, so I’m not particularly bothered by that, haha.
To address the rest of your asks:
what’s left of the flashback?
I think it’s likely that next month will be the last chapter because there shouldn’t be much left to cover + it will be the last chapter of volume 27, so in my opinion next chapter will cover until this moment:
In other words:
Ciel will be taking the ring from his brother’s belly
Seb will annihilate everyone else
Ciel will ask Seb to burn it all to the ground (his brother’s body included?)
“I name you after my dog”
Ciel will be going home to Tanaka and find out that the whole house burnt down for a reason yet explained.
Ciel will possibly meet Ann and get Vincent’s other ring back from her
Ending the flashback on our!Ciel facing his dead family would be very moving and symbolic, that’s why I think Sensei could stop it there. And if so, then April’s chapter will have us back in present time and might be a recap chapter (like ch121).
However, Sensei may also decide to continue with the flashback for a little while longer into vol28 and possibly take us until Ciel officially became “Earl Phantomhive”, which means that we could address the following moments…
Ciel finding out/being explained about the Watchdog duty (this is when I’m hoping Frances or Tanaka might explain stuff about the family but I’m probably dreaming since it’s not really the point of that flashback),
Ciel meeting Elizabeth (or more generally the Midfords) again,
Ciel meeting his father’s Evil Nobles (Dee, Klaus, UT, Pitt…) as the new Earl Phantomhive.
Overall I think it depends on if the whole point of the flashback is to show why our!Ciel took on his brother’s identity, or if it’s also to explain all of his initial motivations when he became “Earl Phantomhive” (if so we’ll be joining up with Seb’s record).
I guess we’ll have to see next month, no can do. :3
About Lizzie “instantly” switching side
I hope we agree there that, presented like that, it would be bad writing if such a thing were to happen xD without mentioning that it’d make Lizzie incredibly shallow as a character (something that the Campania arc debunked completely).
In the first place, as I explained before, I’m not exactly sure what to make of Lizzie’s role in this arc and because of the awkward pacing in Kuro, Sensei tends to have me on the fence with this kind of theories.
So, currently, my personal take is that Lizzie is hopefully not taking a side despite how confusing the situation must be for her, it’s just that…
real!Ciel possibly currently needs her more than our!Ciel does (or so she thinks).
That’s why, when this balance inverts, because our!Ciel will very possibly break down when confronting his brother, she will most likely decide to support him instead (as always, just my opinion though).
What Lizzie knows or doesn’t know isn’t clear at this point. We don’t even know for sure why she is so sad, but (and that’s the difference with Soma) Lizzie had her suspicions about Ciel hiding something before this arc rolled in, so my personal take is that her crying has more to do with…
the twin being involved in something extremely fishy than “omG I fEll in loVe wiTH the wrong CIel”.
Besides, wouldn’t you agree that, since our!Ciel’s issues are partially expressed through thinking he disappointed his family because “the best twin” died instead of him…
…Lizzie’s role isn’t to “switch back to his side”, but rather to reassure him that he shouldn’t have had to become his brother for her sake or anyone else’s in the first place ?
So the concept of Lizzie taking a side, although it’s one I considered for a long time during this arc, is really irking me nowadays and that’s why I hope Lizzie’s sadness isn’t about our!Ciel lying but rather about the whole arc itself.
Sorryyyyy for rambling! I hope it makes sense? :3 Please have a nice day Anon!

GreyLizzie? And SebLizzie 😈?
GreyLizzy can be found here :)
Who is more likely to catch a cold? Neither XD during one mission where Lizzy accompanied himself and Ciel, Sebastian worried she would catch a chill when he saw her dressed in nothing but trousers and a thin blouse (more room to maneuver in). As a result, when they returned home, Sebastian was the “secret visitor” who kept climbing through Lizzy’s window bringing tomato fennel soup (“my lady needs something to warm her up—or would you prefer to hold onto me instead?”), hibiscus tea (“I’ve read it suppresses the flu and the color reminded me of your flushed cheeks in winter”), and soft banana bread (“though you hide it well I am well aware of your sweet tooth, my lady.”)
Who hogs the blankets? Lizzy. She buries herself in blankets when she sleep and while Sebastian thought it was quite endearing at first he became rather annoyed that she would rather hold onto cloth than himself. (Though he’ll deny it to the ninth circle of hell.) To compensate, he stripped the bed of all covering except one comforter and when Lizzy mentioned she was cold, Sebastian conveniently appeared with a smirk on his lips going, “Ah, but I, on the other hand, do burn hotter than the rest. Perhaps if I laid down beside you, you wouldn’t be so cold?”
Who kills all the flowers? To keep up with his perfect butler aesthetic, Sebastian has to preserve all flowers but in reality, he cares very little for the insignificant little plants. (Ex: during one mission to Strawberry Hill Gothic Sebastian cheerfully trampled over a bed of roses without a second thought.) Yet strangely enough, he’s begun to hold a strange affection for the pink carnation—it’s a flower as simple as the rest but when the Lady Elizabeth mentioned it was her favorite flower, well. He simply couldn’t bring himself to discard it so easily.
Who eats all the candy before Halloween? Surprisingly…Lizzy! While everyone knows of Ciel and Charles Grey’s fondness for sweets (and food in general in Grey’s case), Lizzy’s actually a consummate snacker. She loves tasteful, well-prepared food and when it comes to Sebastian, everything is homemade—including the Halloween candy. So whenever Lizzy comes over to Phantomhive Manor during the October month she heads straight for the kitchens and Sebastian’s handcrafted confections. (“Really my lady, you’re sweet enough already.” He murmured, lips coming to press a silencing kiss on Lizzy’s rose bloom mouth.)
Who takes the longest showers? Lizzy. And Sebastian has absolutely no problem with it. In fact, he’s a very, very attentive butler—preparing her bath oils and shampoo, lighting incense and candles. After all, he is one hell of a butler and must perform his due diligence. “In fact, my lady, would you prefer I stay here? I could provide any service you wish, after all.”
Who goes to bed at 5am but wakes up at 8am? Neither. Sebastian’s awake 24/7 and Lizzy (being the healthy child she is) goes to bed at 10 PM and wakes up 7 AM sharp each and every day.
Who makes sure the other has a healthy breakfast? Sebastian. “Unlike my young master, you need far more nutrients than he,” Sebastian chided gently, “from what I gather the marchioness has put you on a most strenuous training regime and a simple meal of eggs and toast will not do.”
What pets do they have? An ultra fluffy white Cymric cat named Gretchen Margaret. (And yes, Sebastian named it after the love interest of Heinrich Faust XD)
Wedding
Who proposes? Sebastian. After the end of his and Ciel’s contract, Sebastian elects to stay on the human plane for “a little while longer.” In fact, he’s become utterly intoxicated with the purity of Lady Elizabeth’s soul. (She shines, the demon notes with a hint of feral glee in his carnelian eyes, with the same passion and light as that other great heroine—my, my Lady Joan of Arc, the butler mused, have you been reborn?) —> But because Sebastian’s also one hell of a possessive demon, he decides to “brand” Lady Elizabeth with a new type of contract: marriage. He goes over the top of course: whisking Lizzy away to China’s imperial city and proposing to her under a full silvery moon while plum blossoms and freesias scent the cool night air.
Who actually enjoyed the planning? Honestly it was hard to tell but Sebastian’s “mild interest” soon gave way to full blown Bridezilla tendencies, micromanaging every last tiny little detail until the actual wedding planner quit (“You want this job so bad? Well you can have it!”) and Sebastian cheerfully took charge.
Would their wedding be small or grand? Despite Sebastian’s “humble” status, the wedding is a full blown outdoor extravaganza held at Midford Castle. Noble guests from around the globe just magically appeared (“I’ve known many people in my lifetime, marchioness,” Sebastian smiled at Frances’s inquiry, “and it appears they’ve remembered me better than I’ve remembered them.”) and as a “surprise” wedding gift, her majesty named Sebastian the new Earl Phantomhive. Now wasn’t that convenient?
Which guest was happiest to see them get married? Sieglinde. She thinks this is possibly the hottest thing ever and is already planning the various ways she might convince Lizzy to agree to a ménage à trois.
Children
How many children would they have? Sebastian’s never met a half-human, half-demon hybrid before but is quite interested in investigating the matter. And because he’s such a contentious scientist of the new and strange, he insists that he and Lizzy have multiple offspring so that he can better examine and observe them. (Large sample sizes and repetition do make for better results, hm?) As a result, they end up with 4 kids.
Would they adopt or have them naturally? Naturally.
Who is the strictest parent? Sebastian. He is mindful, tentative, a tad (a lot) overbearing, and actually extremely protective of his children which he finds odd. He has no plans of consuming their souls, they don’t have the bright, shining light of purity as Elizabeth does. They’re simply children. Their children. And he’s rather…fond of them. Wants to see them succeed and do well. To live. To thrive.
Are their children in homeschool or public school? Privately educated by one Sebastian Michaelis. Later sent to Weston where there’s an even divide of Midford-Michaelis kids between Blue and Green House.
Who is the favorite parent? The children feel an indescribable and almost supernatural bond with their father but adore/feel more comfortable around their mother.
Who checks on the kids in the middle of the night? Sebastian. He never sleeps and—while this is something he will never, ever admit—used to sing lullabies to the kids when they were young to keep the nightmares at bay. Because, despite being a demon who delights in seeing the suffering of others, he simply can’t bear to see his own children harmed or unhappy.
Who decorated the nursery? Elizabeth—with Sebastian’s help. His original idea had been rather grim to put it mildly. (Ebony floorboards, obsidian walls, ruby chandeliers, and a cradle made of African black wood.) So they compromised and went for a traditional nursery: pale lavender silk walls, looming windows covered by satin drapes, a monstrous baby crib that could fit three people, furniture made of pearl colored satinwood, white carpeting, and a crystal chandelier imported from France. (Sebastian may or may not have “borrowed” it from the Château de Saint-Cloud, former residence of Philippe I, brother to Louis XIV.)
#this is actually one of my secret crack!ships lol#i've even written fanfiction of them together XD#sebastian michaelis#elizabeth midford#ciel phantomhive#black butler#kuroshitsuji#asks#headcanon#replies#mod Nina

Bias tag thingy
Tagged by: @bangchan-stole-my-lyfe
Who is your bias? -kihyun (fuck you Lizzy you finally managed to make me bias him. I still love minhyuk though) ~also only choosing kihyun over my other biases for lizzy’s benefit so we can compare her thoughts~
What made you notice them? -his eye smile. It’s just cute. Plus his sass. And his caring nature. And sweet smile. (LOOK AT HIM HE’S SO SOFT)
~~Lizzy kinda got this one right. She said because he’s soft and cute~~
What’s your favourite thing about them? -the fact that he’s a complete fluffball but will out-sass you in .2 seconds
~~Lizzy said his hardworking nature and passion. She’s right that they are great points about him though~~
~fml he’s adorable~
~look at him being all judgy :,) ~
Who would initiate skinship more? Probably him? I’m not really that much of a touchy person but it would depend on how I’m feeling that day
~~Lizzy said me but like I said it really depends on how I’m feeling that day and what’s happened as to whether I would initiate skinship~~
Who would hog blankets more? Highkey me. I love being wrapped up in blankets and I always bunch them up and cuddle into them when I sleep. He’d probably have to fight me to get any of the covers
~~Lizzy got this one right. She also said I’d do it to see him all pouty and cute but honestly that would just be a bonus to me being all snuggled up like a burrito~~
Who would be more clingy? Urmmm I’m not sure. Generally I don’t think either of us would be that clingy? I think if my depression was getting to me I’d be slightly more clingy because I get afraid of being left alone. Or if he was stressed or had a bad day he’d be more clingy
~~ooooh Lizzy was right!! She said neither of us would be that clingy but if any it would be more him~~
Who would say ‘i love you’ first? Him. No doubt. I struggle with shit like that. It usually takes someone else to say it first for me to even realise that actually yeah I love them too. But after the first time there would be no problem saying it to each other. I might be shy the first few times he says it in front of other people though
~~Lizzy out here tryna make me soft: “he would probably say I love you first. He’d been blushing and all shy probs and scared that you’d get mad or upset or something so he’d be really quiet and soft with his head down” lowkey might die when she writes a full on imagine about this~~
Who would be more easily flustered? I’m not too sure. I think it depends on the situation. When it comes down to compliments and stuff probably me because I literally have no idea how to accept them. But when it comes to me being extra af (which apparently I am? Idk ask lizzy) it would likely be him maybe out of embarrassment? I think we’d both get flustered though if we were randomly doing something and found the other had been watching us the whole time thinking it was cute
~~LIZZY! HOE! YOU GOT THIS RIGHT AWSRTJDRGBWNRTNRWSDB~~
What cuddling position would you two have? Tbh anything where his arms are around me making me feel safe (lizzy if you call me soft for this i will kill you)
~~HOE how are you being so accurate with these?! This ones right too!~~
Which colours remind you of them and why? Pastel pink. Literally because he looks WAY too good in that colour. And because he extremely soft
~~HOE IDEK HOW YOU GOT THIS ONE RIGHT~~
What season would you want to spend with them? Autumn. It’s my favourite season with a lot of my favourite things. Plus more excuses for cuddles. But most important more excuse to steal his hoodies & jumpers
~~I’m honestly questioning Lizzy’s psychic abilities at this point~~
Who would bake the cookies and who would steal the batter? We would both do both. Like we’d help each other cook and probably feed each other the batter ngl. I get to lick the spoon at the end though. That is non-negotiable. If he tries I’ll fight ~highkey we would play-fight so damn much and probably end up in fits of giggles every. single. time.~
~~Hoe didn’t even stumble. She straight up said me xD~~
Which one of you would make bad puns and how would the other react? I hate puns so much (ask kait). I’ve probably made one in my entire life? Plus Kihyun likes to tease and make jokes so he would probably make all the bad puns and I’d just stare at him blankly trying to remind myself why i put up with his shit
~~Okay so lizzy was kind of right thinking neither of us would make puns~~
~highkey me reacting to Kihyun’s puns ^^ ~
Who would want to adopt 50 dogs and cats? We would be adopting dogs. Because dogs are my favourite. Having an animals thats as soft as kihyun? I’m 100% down. (plus have you SEEN him with animals?)
~~She said me. She right.~~
Which one of you would nearly burn down the kitchen trying to microwave a pop tart and who would come to the rescue? I think we’re both too smart for that to happen. If anything we’ll be having to save Minhyuk & Jooheon from burning down the kitchen and then help clean up before dad shownu found out
~~I’m 10000% offended that Lizzy thinks I would burn down the house~~
Who likes to lean over tall railings and who pulls them back? It might sound weird but I love standing on railings and leaning over a little bit. There’s just something about it that makes me feel completely free but in total control at the same time. Kihyun is a worried boy though so he’d be holding onto me so I don’t actually fall ~cue titanic re-enactment lmfao~
~~Lizzy: “i could see you trying to lean over to get something that got stuck and Kihyun trying to pull you back and scolding you about how it’s dangerous” I sense another imagine idea? Honestly I think Lizzy knows more about this rship than we do~~
What would watching a horror film with them be like? I HATE horror film. So it’s gonna be all cuddles. I’ll either be on my phone or have my face buried in his chest. No doubt he’d be laughing at me and teasing me. But i imagine there would come a point where he’d be in the middle of teasing me and then get scared himself and I would laugh so much my clumsy ass would probably end on the floor
~~Okay so Lizzy reckons that Kihyun would be scared but try to act cool. And I totally support that idea. But she also thought I’d scare him on purpose. But I think he’d be the one to try and scare me.~~
Who would be the cheesy flirt and who would be the smooth flirt? He’s a tease so he’d probably be the cheesy flirt. I’m not even going to talk about me because well.. pfft no
~~ooh Lizzy said Kihyun is a cheesy flirt too!!~~
Who is more competitive? It depends what we’re doing. Although we’re both chill I think we can both be really competitive. And we’d both tease each other about losing
~~Hoe said me... idk whether to be offended?~~
Who would have to be give constant reminders? (remember to eat, don’t forget your keys, etc) I think we would do it to each other. Reminding each other to eat, drink water etc. With general things I think we’d be okay but we’d constantly be reminding the other to look after themselves
~~Lizzy said he’d give me reminders. It’s probably the most likely tbh. We’re both pretty caring people so would want to the other to look after themselves and to look after each other but generally I can be more forgetful. For example if I’m really focussing on something I will forget to eat~~
Who sends memes and who sends cute ‘i miss you texts’ at 3am? I’m always sending memes soo…. But i think if I was to send him a message at 3am his reply would be ‘why are you awake?’ instead of sending a meme or actually replying to what I said
~~Hoe said me. How knows me too well. Hoe has been on the receiving end of my memes many many times~~
~a meme I would send if he said he missed me st 3am~
Okay so out of like 20 questions (not including the bias question at the start) Lizzy got like 17 right?!?!?!? HOE HOW?! Honestly...... I’m impressed and kinda freaked out at the same time xD love you hoe
I tag: @kpopmainlizzy @darkaegyo @lesbianwomanking if you wanna do it

Sebastian, the Compassionate Demon?
[Long post warning: sorry, I got carried away, but it’s been a while and I needed to speak…]
I always had this sneaking suspicion that ideas from Seasons 1 and 2 would start making their way into the manga proper. Lately it seems as though we’re venturing into Season 2 territory. (I can’t remember if Yana had any input on the plot of Season 2 or not, but I think she may have?) We’ve already had an instance of Ciel ordering Sebastian away (Green Witch) and rings have been prominent in both the manga and Season 2. Currently I think we’re headed towards a Hannah situation.
One very important point of Season 2 was showing how demons could learn compassion and love, as the result of a human soul’s influence. Hanna Annafellows consumed the soul of the child Luka and, if memory serves, she learned to love as a result. I think her character design even changed to reflect this, as did her personality.
Well, I’m starting to think Sebastian is going to pull a Hannah on us at some point.
Now in the efforts of full disclosure, Sebastian’s growth as a character is one of the aspects of this manga I feel closest too. That being said, I didn’t pull this out of thin air and this isn’t complete wishful thinking, but it is of course influenced by my hopes and dreams for this manga. XD
What is Known About Demons
Part of our problem with our understanding of demons in the Kuroverse is that we only have Sebastian as an example. Other information has come from Ciel and William’s rantings. We know they are beastly creatures who consume humans souls and who are incapable of human emotions (as was stated in the Blue Cult arc.) We know they are capable of manipulating humans to accomplish a goal. Apparently three years is a long time to go without a meal, because William remarks that Sebastian is starving during their encounter in the Circus arc.
Despite his supposed hunger, Sebastian seems to be in no rush to effect Ciel’s revenge and thus consume his soul as payment. This issue has never been addressed directly in the manga, so we don’t know the cause of this.
Since we have precious little to go on, we’re all pretty much in the dark when it comes to understanding Sebastian’s inner workings. We can assume from Will’s information that demons are quite nasty creatures: luring their prey with lies, stealing souls, manipulating the innocent. Sometimes the word “beast” comes up to describe demons in the Kuroverse, and Sebastian fits that bill: sharp teeth, long nails, and cruel and cold enough to brand a ten-year-old child’s eye without a moment’s hesitation. This was Sebastian’s original nature—but that does not necessarily mean it is his current nature. That would require growth.
Sebastian’s Growth
If Sebastian is capable of change, is there any evidence of this? Has he perhaps grown a tiny bit beyond his simple, animalistic nature? We don’t know if demons are capable of growth or not, but we actually have seen Sebastian change, albeit slightly, throughout his three years with Ciel. To wit:
He changed how he treated Ciel when Soma and Agni (RIP) admonished him during the Circus arc. Back then, he didn’t mind teasing Ciel, withholding information, and being downright nasty to his master. (Remember how he let him stay tied up during the Kidnapping Arc?) He’s changed to the point where as soon as Ciel is in trouble, he goes running to his side. He even disobeyed Ciel’s orders and put him to bed in the Circus arc, which was in Ciel’s best interests. He’s shown that he is capable of more than blindly following an order.
When Ciel said he could go wild and act like a beast during the Green Witch arc, Sebastiain remarked to himself that he enjoyed the game of playing butler more. This shows that he has altered his behavior from his natural state. A minor change, but a change nonetheless.
He was ready for a quick meal when he first met Ciel, then changed his tune when he was impressed by Ciel’s willingness to destroy himself. This shows that he is capable of delaying gratification, though to be fair, he believes the meal will be more delicious as a result of Ciel’s development.
All of these changes are in stark contrast to Sebastian’s beastly origins. He has shown he likes the finer things in life: being a buter for a well-to-do child and all the trappings that come with that. I would like to think he would act differently if acting beastly were still his primary motivation. It seems has he grown beyond that, however.
Sebastian’s Emotional Landscape
I’ve always been a bit mystified by the idea that Sebastian is an emotionless character. I think he’s one of the most expressive characters in the entire manga (that shocked face of his...always gets me.)
There have been plenty of times when Sebastian has shown emotion and expression. He is not a disinterested observer of humanity (that title goes to Will,) but instead has become thoroughly involved in the lives of those humans around him. Think of his differing reactions to humans such as: Tanaka, Frances, Ciel, Lizzy, the Servants, Sullivan, and so on. All of them elicit different responses from him. Of course, this could all be mere acting, but I’ll get to that in a bit.
Let’s take his reactions towards others off the table and just look at quieter moments that might belie his inner thoughts:
In the Campania flashback, he has a forlorn expression as he turns away after watching Ciel address his parents. Ciel could not see his expression here, and therefore would not benefit from Sebastian’s acting. He tucks Finny in during the Murder arc. A small moment, but why bother with something like that?He seems genuinely impressed with Agni as an exemplary model of humanity. Why would a demon be impressed by sterling goodness? (Shouldn’t he instead be impressed by evil?)To me he looks a bit regretful at the end of Chapter 128 when Ciel asks if he is lying to him.He always treats Tanaka with the utmost respect. It is in keeping with his station, but I do believe he respects Tanaka as a person.Sebastian’s expression during the Green Witch arc when Tanaka prevents him from reaching out to Ciel looks quite heartbroken. From where I’m sitting, I see someone who is so upset by the fact that they are helpless to change a situation. He also has been by Ciel’s side for three years, and now he’s been rejected. (Yes, he did snap Ciel out of it rather harshly, but it had to be done.)Sebastian goes through great pains to prepare Ciel for a world which containins things “more evil” than a demon, as he says in the Campania flashback. Sebastian is a teacher at the School of Hard Knocks, apparently.
He shows concern for Ciel on many occasions, but my all-time favorite is when he regrets he cannot make Ciel a cup of tea to warm him up while he’s in the midst of battling Bizarre Dolls out in the middle of the ocean. (He also gave Ciel his coat in the Jack the Ripper arc, too.)There is also one panel, very early in the manga, where Sebastian looks on at a sleeping Ciel and muses to himself that this life isn’t so bad. This moment is juxtaposed against a cat’s paw—the creature that gives Sebastian the most joy in the world. If taking care of Ciel is as enjoyable as petting a cat’s paw, then doesn’t this show that Sebastian enjoys his time as Ciel’s butler almost more than anything else? It also shows he’s capable of enjoying the company of humans.Campania and the efforts that Sebastian goes to to protect Ciel’s life. I don’t know about you, but no matter how hungry I get, I’m not going to get myself impaled through the gut for a meal, even if it were at a 4-star restaurant. Because if you’re dead, you can’t eat, you know? Not only that, but Sebastian seemed genuinely taken by Ciel’s praise at the very end.
His reaction to Ciel’s order to burn the mansion in the Circus Arc is what really sealed the deal for me. He is thoroughly shocked at his master’s behavior and the nature of the order, and he even hesitates to carry it out—when has he ever hesitated to carry out a direct order before? I think he was taken aback by how shocking the situation was.
It’s outside of canon, but there is that dialogue from the seiyuu event that shows Sebastian making a birthday cake for Ciel long after he has passed away.
Take a snack break and enjoy this little collage of the above moments:
Sebastian and Purity
It hasn’t been touched on in the manga, but it’s a common idea that demons were once fallen angels. Keeping that in mind, it seems as though Sebastian is drawn to purity in a very earnest way. (I don’t mean in the sense of him wanting to corrupt anyone.)
Outside their interactions in the current arc, Sebastian has been nothing but kind and respectful to Lizzy. Of course this goes along with maintaining Ciel’s social status quo, but it’s something to keep in mind. In addition to Lizzy, the other human whom has been elevated to friend status is Agni, a truly pure and noble soul. It could also be said that Agni’s love and devotion to Soma was almost childlike.
And there is that little moment in the Circus arc when he stoops to pick up a doll at the site of the abandoned workhouse.
(@dorkshadows I think it was you who pointed that out to us all.) :)
Sebastian also covered Ciel’s...eye...when Bard showed him a naughty magazine, he covered his eyes again to keep him from seeing the mutilated corpse left by Jack the Ripper, and covered Ciel’s ears during Madame Red’s joke. If demons enjoy corrupting their prey, why is Sebastian taking such pains to protect Ciel’s innocence?
And, to reiterate: he hesitated at Ciel’s order to burn the Kelvin mansion, and even had a quiet expression on his face as he started the fire.
What this might all come down to is either Sebastian’s origins as a former angel, or perhaps the influence of a child’s soul. I’m not saying he doesn’t have a nasty streak (he sure does love punishing the guilty, that’s for sure…) or that he’s somehow becoming good, but I believe Sebastian values purity and innocence, when one would think a demon would be more attracted to the sinister aspects of human nature.
Devil’s Advocate Time
There are many good arguments against Sebastian’s capability for growth and emotion. Here’s what I can think of:
1. Sebastian is merely acting to keep up appearances and fit in with society
I completely understand this. No point in having a demon butler by your side if he can’t pass for a human, right? The thing is: Sebastian doesn’t seem all that concerned with fitting in. He does stupid things all the time in front of people, like donning a unicorn suit, saying his nose is better than a human’s, getting stabbed with a bunch of knives at a party, and even coming back from the dead. If he wants to avoid drawing attention to the fact that he isn’t human, he’s doing a really terrible job of it.
On top of this, why act when no one can see him? We’ve seen a few times where he’s shown emotion when no one is watching. Why show a sad expression when Ciel’s face is turned?
2. He’s luring Ciel in with his demonly ways
Ciel already knows he’s a demon, so there isn’t much point in this. I guess he could use his acting to get Ciel to let his guard down, but how would this benefit Sebastian? He’s already getting his soul. I think Ciel is a strong character and he’s fully aware of his own (and Sebastian’s) actions. I think he views Sebastian as a means to his end, as he has no trouble using Sebastian for his purposes. While Sebastian may have influenced him and schooled him in the School of Hard Knocks, I think Ciel was out for revenge from the very start (he ordered Sebastain to kill everyone in the hall.) It was more his being captured and imprisoned that hardened Ciel more than Sebastian’s influence, and if anything, Sebastian helped him to become a refined and proper Earl. Ciel knows what he wants and he’s going to get it; Sebastian is just along for the ride. (There is also the fact that Vincent was a bit shady himself, and Ciel is part of that lineage.) And let’s not forget that Sebastian raised Ciel to be prepared for the challenges he is going to face, which actually has Ciel’s best interests at heart, not Sebastian’s.
3. Demons aren’t capable of growth
And people aren’t capable of coming back from the dead, but we’ve seen that, haven’t we? This manga is all about subverting our expectations, and it’s been done brilliantly in the past with such things as the identity of Jack the Ripper, the Bizarre Dolls, and Lizzy’s reveal. Didn’t we all think there were werewolves at one point, too? There’s no reason why we can’t be surprised again.
4. But Yana and/or Editor K said demons don’t have emotions
If I were George Lucas in 1977 and I had access to Twitter, I’d be tweeting up a storm about how Darth Vader is DEFINITELY not Luke’s father.
5. But Sebastian is cultivating Ciel’s soul…
I know, this is the most damning evidence, and I’ve spent a long time trying to process this panel. I am in no way qualified to make any solid pronouncements about Japanese grammar, so take this with a huge grain of salt, but from my rough understanding, it seems the English translation left out a bit of a nuance.
In the original, Sebastian uses せっかく, which means taking great pains to do something. This feels different than going through the “trouble” of something, which to me, sounds more like a hassle. The English translation goes with “cultivate,” but てる means to raise, rear, bring up—in fact, the 育 kanji is used in the word for “foster parent.” He’s taken great pains to raise Ciel. The second panel he says something like he doesn’t want (it) snatched away from him, and the sentence ends with たまらない, an expression that means unbearable. Take of that what you will, but to me it sounds different and more nuanced than the simple act of cultivating a soul and having it stolen because he’d be missing his dinner. (Dictionary links here, so you all can see for yourselves: http://maggiesensei.com/2015/04/29/how-to-use-%E3%81%9B%E3%81%A3%E3%81%8B%E3%81%8F-sekkaku/ , http://tangorin.com/general/sodate , http://tangorin.com/general/%E5%A0%AA%E3%82%89 , https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100304112810AA4ALDB , http://www.jgram.org/pages/viewOne.php?tagE=tetamaranai, ) I probably have a lot of these nuances wrong, but I tried. XD
Assorted Evidence for Sebastian Becoming Hannah
A part of the 2CT is that Sebastian already consumed one of the twin’s souls. As akumadeenglish pointed out here, this is what the “price to cross the river” is believed to be. A demon consuming the soul of one brother while the other lives echoes Season 2 quite strongly, and I feel like we’re headed closer and closer to Sebastian pulling a Hannah on us. The pieces are all falling into place.
There is also this very interesting find by @white-queen-lacus: in the Weston arc, Sebastian is reading a Latin poem about love transcending the bounds of death. It could almost fit with Hannah’s situation: a soul living beyond its natural end, to reach forth its love to its target. Yana likes to sneak little Easter Eggs in this manga, so wouldn’t that be quite the clue? Perhaps this all speaks to Sebastian learning human compassion after having consumed the soul of a child. (That post is here--go read it!)
In Conclusion
What all of this means is that I think Sebastian consumed the soul of the real Ciel like Hannah consumed Luca’s soul. As a result, a dim understanding of human emotion was awakened within Sebastian, which kindled the possibility for change.
He still lacks self-awareness, because a child’s emotions are raw and undeveloped, but nevertheless, the die is cast. This is why Sebastian seems capable of a very nascent form of compassion, expressed as tiny hints that he is something more than just a savage beast. His potential for change is still embryonic and fragile, and is dependent on the wishes and whims of his master. It is Ciel who will determine what Sebastian will become in the end, because Sebastian must abide by his wishes, even if that means reverting back to savagery. (And we’ve already seen hints of this, tragically.)
Sebastian has also let us in on the fact that he enjoys his life with Ciel, along with all the refined details of a butler lifestyle. And perhaps the fact that he hasn’t brought Ciel to his revenge is a testament not only to Ciel’s unique soul, but also to Sebastian’s enjoyment of his life with Ciel. Why would he be in a rush to finish up something he finds so enjoyable?
Sebastian reminded us at the end of the Circus arc that what defines humans is the desire to keep going beyond the hills and far away—to break free of their nature—to improve, to evolve, to change. Even though humans may never succeed in transcending their nature, at least they keep trying. Sebastian thinks that he, a demon, is incapable of this, but someday a flicker of realization might rise within him, a moment of clarity, no matter how fleeting; a tiny act, no matter how small, where he understands that somehow, despite his nature, he became something more.
And in that moment, that first dawning of Sebastian’s self-awareness, we, the reader, will be aware it of it before he ever could be: that he is becoming more than what he once was, and that perhaps he, too, is capable of reaching over the hills and far away...
If you have read this far, I applaud you and thank you for your time. XD But I do hope you take this all into consideration. Send counterarguments, comments, and anything else if you wish.

Challenge (Kuroshitsuji)
Day #1 First Encounter With This Series (i.e. how you discovered it, first episode you watched, etc…): It’s funny. I was dreamed about this anime, because I had seen some pictures on internet. I thought that Kuroshitsuji was about Sebastian, who was a noble man, and Ciel dressed as a girl was his maid (I thought he actually was a girl) and I said: I had dream about these anime whose protagonist is a servant xDDDD
Day #2 The Moment That Made You Fall in Love with this Series: I was fan of Gosick, a detective-mystery anime in the victorian era, and when I finished it, I decided to watch Kutoshitsuji, because it was the same genre and in the same period. When I watched the first chapter, I fell in love with the series.

Forgotten Vows Friday: Favorite Moments, Part IV
It's my BIRTHDAY! :D And much like the 13th was the perfect day to talk about the darkest moments I love in this series, I think today is the perfect day to talk about the brightest moments -- aka, my absolute favorite favorites. I don't think any of you are going to be surprised by this list:
1. Forgetting You, Chapter 9: Splatter Gets What He's Owed -- Victor punching Jack Splatter and rescuing Alice from the burning Mangled Mermaid -- Okay, first of all, I like this chapter in general because it was one of the first I did after getting some solid writing tips from reading the first book of the Riverworld series (namely, "I do not want to write like this"), and I feel it represents a big jump in quality in my storytelling. And this particular moment -- oh, it was satisfying to finally give Splatter exactly what he deserved for hitting Alice! (Which is, uh, kind of why I kept doing it. XD) Not to mention I threw myself into properly describing the burning Mermaid and Victor's rescue of Alice, and I feel it turned out beautifully. (I still like "If the exterior of the Mangled Mermaid was a glimpse at Pastor Galswells's favorite vision of Hell, the interior was the full Time-Of-Judgment-Featuring-Dante-And-Virgil experience.") Not to mention I liked letting Victor play the hero for Alice, as she was going to be playing the hero for him for much of the rest of the verse!
2. Forgetting You, Chapter 24: Confrontation At Moorgate Station -- Victor punching Bumby during the brief moment he broke free of his control -- Speaking of satisfying moments where someone gets what they deserve. . .ooh, this felt good to write after Chapter 22! Bumby obviously deserves worse, but that moment where it becomes clear he never truly broke Victor -- well, Alice wasn't the only one bouncing up and down in delight. XD
3. Forgetting You, Chapter 25: Into Londerland -- Alice shoving Bumby in front of the train -- Obviously I have to include what is also one of my favorite moments in Alice: Madness Returns itself. I was so worried that he was going to get away scott-free, and then Alice took matters into her own hands, and it was great. And I think I did a good job in translating the moment into text, particularly Bumby's shock as Alice turns to face him as her Wonderland self. (Which he definitely saw her as, thanks to my Alice having a natural talent for a certain disguise spell. . .) Not to mention the exchange right before she shoves him:
"Could you kill a fly?" echoed in her head, the Dollmaker trying to get in one last shot from beyond the grave.
I can kill a lot more than that, she replied, and used her free hand to give Bumby one good, hard shove.
Eeee~ So good.
4. Remembering You, Chapter 13: Taking Back The Crown -- Victor defeating the Bumby Heart within the Wall, and regaining his memories -- Again, more satisfying moments against Bumby -- or, at least the remnant of him still left in Victor's head. The whole fight against the Wall, with Victor wielding Alice's weapons against the Ruin, was great to write, but the final battle? Victor clawing his way back from the edge of oblivion thanks to remembering Alice's eyes? The memory of getting the fork from Ms. Plum becoming the initial form of the Vorpal Fork? Victor staring the Heart down as it starts panicking? The "MY! NAME! IS! VICTOR!" line right before he stabs it?! *chef's kiss* That was so good, both to write and to read afterward. :D And then afterward, designing the first form of his Otherland -- the sweet little forest where his memories come back? That was a great way to destress after the fight. Just what Victor and I needed.
5. Remembering You, Chapter 14: So Kiss Me – Victor and Alice's first kiss -- It's their first kiss I'm not supposed to pick this? XD More seriously, this was a sweet and wonderful moment to finally write. And it probably helps that I took some inspiration from one of my favorite Disney movies, Enchanted -- you know how Victor picks up Alice and spins her around a bit? I had in mind Giselle getting spun around by Prince Edward when they reunite in Robert's apartment. (Yeah, I know, wrong couple, but I still thought it was a cute moment!) After so much time spent with them either pining but shoving down their feelings, or being utterly oblivious, or being in love but struggling past lingering mental issues. . .damn, it just felt good to have them finally smooch.
6. Fixing You, Chapter 7: Heck Though Ain't It Grand – Alice's reunion with Lizzie in the Land of the Dead -- I know this was one of the two "big moments" everyone wanted to see in the series, and I was more than happy to deliver. Mostly because it was a moment I wanted to see myself. Setting up the surprise of Lizzie being Burtonsville, not in Oxford, was a lot of fun in-universe, and the actual moment when the two sisters saw each other again – even I "awwwed" internally when they flung themselves into each other's arms. :) It was just so heartfelt. . . The follow-up hug between Alice and her parents when they finally reach the Ball & Socket is great too. Just – I know this is the thing Alice has wanted most ever since the series began, and I was thrilled to give it to her. (And this leading to the final defeat of that damned Jabberwock was a great bonus! Call that an "honorable mention" on this list.)
7. Fixing You, Chapter 10: The Grand Wonderland Tour – Victor and Alice's tour of Wonderland – Yes, the entire chapter. This is the other big thing everyone wanted, and, again, more than happy to deliver. This whole chapter is probably my favorite in the whole series, just because I had so much fun coming up with stuff for Victor and Alice to do in all the various domains! It was like a "greatest hits" of every fun "Victor and Alice in Wonderland" scenario I've ever thought of! :D Personal favorites within the chapter itself are the mine cart ride in the Village of the Doomed (it was fun going back to AMA, coming up with a special suit and dress for the mains for the "domain," and it was very interesting to look up stuff on early roller coasters!), Victor and Alice building a sand castle in the Music Fish's "Choral Coral" spot (that's my personal favorite bit in the Deluded Depths when it comes to the scenery, and it brought back fond memories of being on the beach and watching Mom make sand sculptures), the battle against the Army Ants (more fun with AMA stuff, and a good opportunity to show the pair's battle skills – not to mention, I love the way they got the Ants to back off in the end), and Victor and Alice's race through Cardbridge (again, my favorite level in A:MR, and them just getting to play like kids in this beautiful world was -- I swear, I was smiling and squeeing so much writing that bit. . .). But the whole thing was fantastic, and I think well-worth the wait!
8. Fixing You Chapter 16: Round Three: The Conglomeration. . .and Thirteen – Victor redeeming Thirteen, and the full creation of his Otherland afterward -- I like the whole sequence in Silent Burtonsville (Victor going Hysteria to kill the Colossal Nell when she threatens Alice is definitely an “honorable mention” moment), but the final confrontation definitely makes favorite. Victor and Alice finally recognizing just what it is he's struggling with, and Alice convincing Victor that the only one who sees himself as a monster is him, leading to him forgiving himself. . .ooooof. It just hits you right in the feels, doesn't it? The moment of him hugging his corrupted self, whispering that he doesn't hate him? How could you not sniffle, seriously? And then, after Thirteen's redemption back into Desire, the whole bit where Victor starts getting into what he actually wants his Otherland to look like. . .once again, had so much fun doing the descriptions! I was as enthusiastic as Victor about the whole thing! And Victor's joy at seeing the Living Dead Forest come to life outside the window? So much squee, seriously. Love it.
9. Fixing You, Chapter 18: A Day For A Glorious Wedding – Victor and Alice's wedding – Again, this is their wedding, I wasn't supposed to pick it?! XD I'm pretty sure we were all VERY READY for this to finally go down by the time it happened, and I was just thrilled to finally put it to paper. I mean, I'd had Victor's reaction to Alice's dress stored away in a "notes" file for ages, but to actually get them in front of that registrar, do the vows, go back to Houndsditch and have that cake. . .it did my heart good, seriously. Especially that moment when Victor hears Alice say her vows back to him, and all he can think is that he didn't want to cry. . . Even if it wasn't necessarily the most "romantic" way to get married, I still just wanted to sweep them up in a big hug and weep for a while. XD And then the reception afterwards in the Land of the Dead, with Victor and Alice getting a surprise party from their dead loved ones, Victoria finally getting a chance to see the place, June reuniting with her mother and meeting her brother, and the kids giving Victor his pictures back? I don't think I could have ended that story any more perfectly.
10. A Wedding, A Wedding, We're Going To Have A Wedding, Chapter 7: In A World Of Our Own – Victor and Alice's Wonderland reception – Honestly, the whole fic is a win for me (as probably evidenced by the way it kept growing chapters), but the last bit, which was a complete last-minute "oh hey, if I did a Land of the Dead reception for Victor and Alice, I should do a Wonderland one too!" is just – so full of fluff, I swear. I wasn't expecting it to be so squee-inducing and squishy when I first came up with the idea, but. . .Alice's Wonderland and Victor's Otherland merging like they do, with the inhabitants of both their minds teaming up to give them a party? Showing once and for all they've stopped beating themselves up about stuff for the most part? Awwwwww. . .the bit that really gets me, though, is the very last part:
[. . .] Victor turned to offer Alice his arm as the various citizenry hurried off through the combined woods –
Then paused. A playful grin crossed his face. "What?" Alice asked, raising an eyebrow. "What are – Oh!"
Alice automatically grabbed for his neck as he suddenly scooped her up into his arms. "Oh," she repeated, trying to get her bearings. "Er – any particular reason for giving me a lift?"
"Well, you're my new wife," Victor told her, adjusting his grip. He nodded at the join between their two worlds, the Vale of Tears and the Living Dead Forest mingling in perfect harmony. "Aren't I supposed to carry you over the threshold?"
Oh, he was such a sap – and she loved him for it. "You are," she confirmed, snuggling into him. "If you would, Mr. Liddell?"
"My pleasure, Mrs. Van Dort."
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH – no I DON'T know why that affects me so much but it FREAKING DOES. It just – ooof. *flops* Best way to end anything about their wedding, I swear.
And that covers it! All my favorite moments in the Forgotten Vows Verse! :D Hopefully you guys saw a few of your favorites in here as well. . . I'll see you all in the New Year! With any luck, we'll get some more content for this world, and maybe even a few more favorite moments. :)
#forgotten vows friday#forgotten vows verse#favorite moments#it's my birthday and I'll squee if I want to#most of these are probably super obvious#but I will take the opportunity to rave about them regardless#seriously it was actually really nice to go back through some of these#look at them again and go#'you know what I'm kind of good at this' XD#and have all the Valice feels again#I love my OTP and I want to keep writing for them for the rest of my life :)#in this universe or any other#queued
