YES
So I will say for everyone not privy
I was inspired by certain species of birds who will have a dominant male and then like satellite males. Inigo will be the dominant male... and Zeel the satellite male.
This also helps that Ichor, and Cuckoo anon also have alpha legion members who have multiple members all "flocking" around one human.
Now this habit still happens even if one has an actual bond with a human (he is the dominant male) he will still gather satellite males that he trusts to keep his human safe from other members trying to usurp a bond.
Inigo is agitated, his brother Zeel can see it. Zeel understands why, there's a new group of Alpha Legionaries that have moved into the city. Normally it's a good and even joyous thing. However one of the newcomers had caught sight of Inigo's human, whatever he saw, he clearly liked. This newcomer is now interested in claiming Inigo's human for himself.
The Captains of both groups managed to prevent a fight but it's no secret that that particular newcomer? He will try to get between Inigo and Inigo's human, he will try to claim the human for himself. Normally if the human and Space Marine were a bonded pair, an Alpha Legionary would try and stop once they failed.
However, when its a human and Alpha Legionary pair... there's no unbreakable bond to deter another Alpha Legionary from trying again and again and again. The human is essentially free game due to the human being unbonded. It doesn't help that when an Alpha Legionary sets their eyes on an unbonded human, it's an obsession that goes beyond reason.
Inigo leaves then and Zeel knows that his brother is returning to his human. Who knows when the newcomer might try to seek out Inigo's human? Any moment that Inigo isn't there is a window of opportunity. Their Captain had said that the newcomers would be leaving the area soon to avoid conflict, but everyone knows that until they're gone, the risk will be there.

So rambling, but I had an idea to paint sisters as either Slaanesh, so the Orginal EC colors, or alpha legion. It could be for them to either be full on covert spies, or a sect that still thinks they revere the emperor, even as they descend into madness.

The thing about interrogating someone, right, is that the questioner inevitably passes some information to the person being interrogated. The choice of questions, or omission of questions, offers a lot of information about what is of greatest interest/concern to those doing the interrogating. Think about that scene in Mission Impossible III where Dustin Seymour Hoffman's character effortlessly outplays Tom Cruise's character and gleans things like that he has a romantic partner and what his real name is.
I was thinking about this in the context of the Alpha Legion in Warhammer 40K. The masters of inscrutability and deception could never allow such a potential gleaning of even the outermost layers of their schemes, so being interrogated by them must be an exercise in purest Dadaism!
Captured Imperial Guard officer: You'll get nothing from me. I'm permitted to give my name, rank, and serial number and nothing more.
Alpha Legion interrogator: You are Alpharious!

You think the lore for the fiction you like is complicated? You have nothing on the horus heresy book chart! Witch is needed because the heresy was not released in chronological order.
Tumblr media
Look at that! That’s just the build up to the siege of terra! The final fight not including the aftermath and scouring! And the heresy is only ONE of the big events in warhammer 40ks setting. The Warhammer series are as old if not older than D&D! With lore building happening during its entire existence. Be thankful that you don’t have to deal with that.

A lil while back on one of the early False Raven posts I tossed out here, a couple people brought up the Alpha Legion as sort of a comparable/semi-related concept. And while lore-wise they do differ, there are enough parallels in how they operate - I think it would be incredibly funny to see them go at each other. Infiltrator vs infiltrator. Spy vs Spy! Upright versions & original "beakie" base before I modified them for their respective legions:

Bond Levels
Here is some lore on some ideas about bond strengths for the Sentience AU with the help of @barn-anon
0. Also known as a false bond. There is no bond/warp influence keeping the marine with "their" human. Common amongst Alpha Legion Astartes.
Weak Bond. Marines tend to be aloof with their bonded basically the bond is the only thing keeping them with their human. Common amongst Dark Angels/Other aloof space marine chapters. Uncommon amongst CSMs. The bond could be broken without the death of the human or Astartes.
Normal Bond. The most common bond in all types of Astartes. Marines tend to be friendly and cordial. They protect their bonded and will feel intense anxiety should their human be in danger. This is the level of a bond that the violent death of their human will cause them to snap.
Intense Bond. The marine exhibits a sort of clinginess with their humans and they can be picky with whom their human spends time with them both human and marine. This is common amongst CSMs as well as Dark Angels and other aloof space marines chapters. This is due to the increased amount of warp influence needed. The CSMs that tend to be in these sorts of bonds are on the precipice of ascension, heavily mutated, or typically a champion of a dark god. These also can be where bonded human killers are.
This bond can be split into 2 types of bonds. CSMs affected by Intense bonds are more likely to not see their bonded as mere companions and are more likely to form romantic bonds with their bonded because their twisted minds cannot comprehend loving another creature this much this intensely.
3a. Mate bond. The Marine assumes a coparenting role with their bonded. These bonds can be platonic or romantic. They see their bonded as a mate and will act accordingly.
3b. Yandere bond. The Marine is possessive of their human. They feel an intense adoration and love for their human. These tend to be romantic. These are dangerous for most around the human and the marine. How they react is all dependent on their own insanity some can be aggressive to all humans showing interest in their human and others act as if they have a normal bond before snapping at random moments.

Can someone who knows Necromunda lore better than I please explain how House Delaque isn't an Alpha Legion plant?
From the brief lore I do know, they're:
Big on the snake and ghost motifs,
All bald with ocular implants far to expensive for a random gang in Necromunda,
Extremely big on the spycraft and being shitters in general,
Just appeared onr day under mysterious circumstances and became a major gang.
All of this on it's own would make me raise an eyebrow, but Necromunda is famously an Imperial Fists tithe world. A chapter that the Alpha Legion are big haters of due to the whole duel on Titan.
It really sounds to me like the Alpha Legion planted a cult to potentially disrupt loyalist recruitment, or some other convoluted plan...

" 'You know, Aristaeus-Theta, you are not like most tech-priests I've met before. Much more... free-thinking. Why is that? Are you some sort of youthful rebel among your kind?'
'Not quite, lord-captain. Age is a factor here, but it is the other way around - I am actually considerably older than most magi you'd meet today.'
'That's the first time I hear of age making anyone more open-minded.'
'And you still haven't. The march of time has only nurtured in me a conservative streak, as it tends to do. But me and many of my generation - we are the children of the last CBR, brought up in what one might call a more... liberal era of our kind.'
'The last what? I am unfamiliar with this abbreviation.'
'Cawl-Based Renaissance, my lord. How to explain...' "
So, going through the Genefather again, a bit that jumped out at me was one where Alpha Primus notes that Cawl seems to be approaching one of his "solitude phases". This manifests through him starting to divest himself of excess of followers and resources. Which I think is cool for two reasons.
Firstly, from the meta perspective, it seems like a sneaky laying of groundwork on Guy Haley's part, done so that any future Cawl stories can be written without having to constantly explain why he is having death-defying adventures on the ground somewhere with his sad psychic super son and nervous immortal not-husband, while literal legions of techpriests, skitarii and Taranis knights sit in the orbit above twiddling their thumbs.
But secondly, I love the lore implications of the idea that Cawl has these looong phases of either acting like the Archmagos Dominus and Prime Conduit of the Omnissiah, or just a lil' guy who chills in his lab doing his own thing. According to Primus, at the dawn of the 42nd millennium Cawl is in the process of switching from the former to the latter, which he does, among other ways, by slowly disbanding his court of weirdo followers which he has accumulated over the years. And Genefather specifically confirms this idea - one that seemed so natural to me but never was really validated before - that Cawl seems to act as a sort of rallying beacon for all manner of radicals, weirdos and malcontents within the cult Mechanicus. Weirdos that he, after one hot summer (or a few hundred years) of them all brewing together in this big pot of radical ideas, is in the process of releasing back into the wild...
Hey, isn't this a part of how - some would argue - the actual Renaissance started?
And with Cawl having apparently done this enough times for Primus to intuitively know the pattern, I can't help but imagine that, say, about every thousand years the galactic community of Adeptus Mechanicus get these spikes of radical and heretek activity. It causes tensions, purges, sometimes civil wars - but also a general liberalization of AdMech political climate for a time. Because if everyone is busy arguing about this particular attempt at pushing boundaries of the Lore by overly ambitious smartass of the week, a dozen less flashy projects can fly under the radar.
And with Mechanicus' love for recording of things - I also believe this pattern would be recognized! At least enough so that when Cawl emerges from another one of his "solitude phases", ready to present the galaxy with the hottest takes of M36, senior magi across the galaxy make a collective sigh and start preparing to deal with a fresh wave of bright-eyed mad science college graduates in a couple hundred years' time...

It is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries The Emperor has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the Master of Mankind by the will of the gods, and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the Carrion Lord of the Imperium for whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day, so that he may never truly die.  Yet even in his deathless state, the Emperor continues his eternal vigilance. Mighty battlefleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the Warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astronomican, the psychic manifestation of the Emperor's will. Vast armies give battle in his name on uncounted worlds. Greatest amongst his soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines, bio-engineered super-warriors. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Imperial Guardand countless planetary defence forces, the ever vigilant Inquisition and the tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from aliens, heretics, mutants - and worse. To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.
I had to google this quote because i didn't recognize it, but apparently this is from warhammer 40k. i have a friend who plays that, but i had no idea there was all that much lore. neat :)

this is an unpleasant thing, with different types of upsetting structures throughout. despite containing over 1200 amino acids, only a handful of alpha helices could be made, with the rest falling into long, winding loops. what's worse is that the longer, straighter loops in this protein seem to be rife with cis bonds (long sections where all of the blue atoms or all of the red atoms form a straight line, seen mostly on the upper left of the surface representation). there is no sense of order or coherent design to be found, and no part of this protein wants to work with anything around it. we can see only chaos and disappointment.

2025
So 2024 was pretty busy and a little overwhelming, I've now got time to reflect a little and look to the future.
Last year was largely wedding preparations and dealing with the stress of that, resulting in it taking a lot of my brain space, further resulting in a loss of creativity. But I got married on 20/10/24 in a castle to the love of my life. It was a fantastic day that shot by in a blur. I've now got a double-barrelled last name. Plus I got promoted in December which was a lovely surprise, coupled with two months backpay at my new rate and a Christmas bonus, so a great Christmas was had.
I'm now looking forward to this year and what I want to achieve. Professionally, nothing right now as I am content for the moment with the money I am on, hopefully a nice little raise would be good.
The big thing this year though is buying a house. My wife and I have enough money to put a good deposit down on a house and get out of renting. We've already checked out a few houses with there being one I hope we can get. Following that shortly after would be getting a dog, a golden retriever if I can find a rescue because I've always adored those type of dogs plus they are good for first time owners.
Hobby wise, well I have the custom Legion project based on the Lost Legions, with this being the Second Legion aka The Pyre. They'll be Assyrian based with a focus on utilising forbidden technology like nuclear weapons and Abominable Intelligence as well as scorched earth tactics. My very summarised theory on why this legion was expunged from all records was that they left more worlds in a (very radioactive) dead-world state than actually bringing them to compliance, coupled with using AI in their campaigns. I have written a lot of lore for this legion that I'll eventually start sharing once I've finished it and I'll likely expand into a "What if they weren't expunged?" line of 40k alternative history.
On top of the legion project I'll probably finish the Alpha Legion, although the Predator tanks are now going to be used for The Pyre.
The other project is going to be getting a hold of a 3d printer so I can create my own minis, in particular I want to design the Primarch of the II Legion, Ashurdan. I have a rough idea of what I want him to look like and what he'll be armed with but I'll need to take some time to learn how to design the model as I want it to be quite intricate.
Other things I want to do this year is to start getting into shape but that is on hold until I move house.
However, tomorrow I have to go and take my car to the garage to get the brake discs changed.

OOOO Lore
Look K, I know that you want to help that new guy but I'm telling you, it's a lost cause. you know the chances of being able to break a bond that old is low. You've always been too ambitious for your own good. Well just incase you've forgotten, you're no longer some street rat that only needs to look out for themself. We have people looking up to us for guidance now. In case you’ve forgotten. A big reason being how we're the only lifeline for these poor lost people, the miraculous cure to a problem that would otherwise doom those lost souls. Those broken marines can only affect new bonds. Your persistent attempts to break older bonds have met failures here and there. You're lucky R was able to do damage control before word got out. We cannot afford people doubting our ability to do the impossible, so consider this your first and final warning. Your current case? It will be the last time you arrange and oversee breaking an older bond. You're lucky C thinks that highly of you, I had voted to have you removed from our ranks.

World Building Proposal: Let me know if this vibes with what you and your friends have got so far:
Archmagos Von Kuronos has set aside sections of Ineptus Anser's surface for "Development by Off-World Benefactors." These areas are FAR from his home in the capital hive city. They were also formerly the domains of some annoying challengers to the Archmagos authority. Now they are the homes to the following three groups:
A tau expeditionary group led by a water caste spy-mistress and her ethereal wife. Their relationship is forbidden but they don't care. The ethereal never wanted to be a leader, she was just born into the job, so she lets her wife call the shots. This has resulted in a lot of support for water caste projects while everyone else gets secondary priority. The other castes are getting a bit disgruntled by this favoritism but are too paranoid to act, because of the spies. Life for humans within their territory is almost utopian, with conditional access to food, shelter and health-care. The Tau pay their dues to the Archmagos by importing food to his hive.
Ork Mek-boy clan called "Da Scrappa 'Eads" that are more interested in tinkering with "Tekmologee" than doing a waaaaugh. Scrappa'Eads own several reclamation facilities, a squig-power plant, and an "Aka-dumb-me fer Runts!" Because of mandatory enrollment in the academy, the vast majority of the orks are Mek-Boys and Bionorks. Runts that attempt to escape their education, as well as rebellious human slaves, will get arrested and imprisoned by The Git-Catchers, a grot and squig police department. Speaking of squigs, the orks were able to breed the beasts to be able to convert toxic waste into high quality fuel. Which is what they use to pay rent to Kuronos.
Chaos warband consisting of a Iron Warrior Warpsmith, an Alpha Legion Biomancer, a thrice-bound Daemonhost known as The Guardian and The Host, and a Word Bearers Preacher. The four (five) of them had come into possession of thousands of mysterious artifacts from raiding a space hulk. They needed some place in the middle of nowhere to sort, test, and store their loot, and so they chose Ineptus Anser. Archmagos Von Kuronos has been very accommodating to the war band, only demanding that he paid in artifact testing data in exchange for use of facilities.
So this is what I've got. I understand if it's too much and you won't use any of it. But hopefully you enjoyed reading it.
Yeah this is definitely something these morons would do all sorts of things can go down on this planet 💀💀💀 maybe not von kuronar because he's racist and the most dogmatic of the gang but the other two (who i literally NEVER post about rip all the lore just sits in my brain and never sees the light of day) would definitely just outvote him and then do some silly chaos and xenos stuff.

Warhammer Lore Gameshow
Answer Below
Alpharius Omegon, Primarch of the 20th Legion
Depending on how pedantic you want to get, technically speaking Alpharius Omegon was both the first and last found, although technically the Emperor never found Omegon.
The canon in Alpharius: Head of the Hydra is that, while the official story is that Horus was the first found, Alpharius was in fact found first on Terra, then hidden from the galaxy. Omegon, his twin brother (it’s complicated) was then found last, they switched places, and it was Omegon, disguised as Alpharius, who was first introduced to the galaxy as the 20th primarch.
Horus is the first primarch found officially, Alpharius was the real first, and Omegon, who has pretending to be Alpharius at the time, what’s the last.
Fun fact, Alpharius’s official death was at the hands of Rogal Dorn. In Head of the Hydra it’s revealed that Dorn killed Omegon, was was pretending to be Alpharius. Alpharius, who was pretending to be Omegon, then renamed himself Alpharius, in honor of Omegon who was pretending to be Alpharius, because he was killed by Rogal Dorn who was pretending to be Rogal Dorn, and also none of that was real because Alpharius, who could have been Alpharius, or Omegon, or any of the other Alpha Legion marines pretending to be Alpharius, explicitly states to the audience in the book that he could just be lying about all of it because he’s Alpharius and this is a lie. And people say 40K is complicated

Traitor Legion Power Rankings
There was a question on the 40k lore reddit earlier about how strong the Wors Bearers are, and I thought it’d be fun to power rank the Traitor Legions
(My personal opinions, based on my reading of the lore; your takes may vary)
1.Black Legion - has a piece of lore ever said they aren’t the strongest
2.Death Guard - The most coherent of the traitor legions, and the lore tells us that Morty came the closest to undoing the Black Legion’s rise to power
3.Word Bearers - Also a fully coherent fighting force, in their book trilogy capable of fielding tens of thousands of marines for campaigns; but Lorgar is still locked away in his study with writer’s block, so lose out on the second spot
4.Iron Warriors - How fitting they make it to a solid fourth place, the civil war that their primarch organized has meant they aren’t as united as the top three legions
5.World Eaters - a shattered legion, but their primarch is out here taking names and destroying entire imperial fleets; so jumps them up the rankings
6.Thousand Sons - Magnus may be out and about, but all is still dust
7.Alpha Legion - put them here, because who knows how strong they are really, but their Primach is dead and then don’t really have a united front to form
8.Emperor's Children - another shattered legion, and according to the lore as far as I know Fulgrim has no real interest in uniting them once again
9.Night Lords - the most shattered of shattered legions, still dangerous though

Hey hey wanted to ask who of the primarchs is the most thoughtful of there s/o I personally think alpharius and omegon they really give of that type of vibe
I was actually going to put AlphariusOmegon in that post originally anon, we're on the same wavelength apparently.
As much as I love Alpha legion I'm not a lore expert, but they've proven to be pretty decent and understandable to humanity. In comparison to... some others. They would be far from the worst option. I mean out of all of the legions besides Salamanders and Ultramarines, they have the most humans among them. They maybe spies and sleeper agents, but that's gotta count for something right? They are less horrifically blood thirsty than their brothers, at least by a small margin.
If you can ignore all of the mental 5d chess, they wouldn't be a bad pick.
