Also…theme for my current October TBR area is spooky options! Haha. I definitely won’t start all of these (still have 2 of these novels in progress as well 😅) but I wanted to put anything Halloween-like that I hadn’t read yet on this nightstand.

I just happen to be on this next volume of Ranma for my re-read, which is orange, has a moon, and basically a costume??

This is my fan translation of Kairi Seidouitusei Shougai no Chiguhagu na Hibi by Tokin! I love this manga so much. It’s a wonderful autobiography about DID and a representation with a tone we don’t usually get in English. Tokin-sensei gave me permission to translate the prologue and share it with an English audience because I know so many people would want to read it! I am not going to translate the entire text, but I do really really want to encourage people to submit it in this month’s Seven Seas interest survey!! Caelus:Hello, criminal.

Caelus:Everything I do more or less. Only not as smoothly.

Stelle:Hmm you talk like you fight, second to me.

Stelle:…No, you may not have a bite. Not making a second either.

Caelus:Not hungry for a sandwich. Where’s March?

Stelle:Shopping with Dan-

That’s all he needed to hear before Stelle felt him turn her around and kiss her so passionately she actually leaned against the counter. He put her arms around his neck before taking hold of her hips with one before breaking the kiss. Annoyingly, still instinctively moved her head forward, chasing the kiss for half second. Caelus put his head on her shoulder in a frustration she was all to familiar with.

Stelle:Oh, that kind of hunger. Sir, this is a dangerous place. You could’ve texted me to go to the airship.

Caelus:You would’ve said “but my sandwich” and then proceeded to go nowhere.

Stelle:Hey, shut up.

Caelus:You smell nice. Firefly’s conditioner?

Stelle:Is it that obvious?

Caelus:Hehe, yeh. So, wanna hangout? It’s been awhile since it was just us.

Stelle:Pfft, you think one kiss would-

He kissed her again, earning a laugh from the girl. Stelle kissed him back with an irritating amount of affection as she got into his childish antics. She was about to fold until the click of a door made them quickly separate, the boy going about his business like nothing happened. Stelle immediately turned around to focus on her sandwich. Unfortunately, the plate and its contents were gone.

Stelle:…..

March:*walks in* Hey hey hey! What’s going on?

Stelle:*staring at counter* I think I was used for my sandwich.

March:Ah…well I told you not to entertain Aventurine’s texts. I get he’s handsome but-

Stelle:..*slowly looks at March*

March:….*sweating* Wh-What are we talking about?

She takes out her phone to see a message from the worst traitor known to man. Stells opens Caelus’s stupid message to see a picture of her sandwich uneaten inside of dramatic looking golden birdcage.

Caelus: “I have your beloved”

Stelle: “…Don’t hurt her! What are your demands?”

Caelus: “Meet me at the Captain’s Cabin on our ship. Come alone and there might be chips with a drink you can save as well.”

Stelle: “You heinous monster!”

Stelle: “I will be there in ten minutes.”

Caelus: “I look forward to our negotiation. Be swift, hero.”

Stelle:(Why is this working on me?) *smiles*

For the sake of her sandwich, Stelle arrived just like she promised. Yes, there was absolutely no other reason. She put on her game face and walked in the moment the door slid open to see her adversary smiling while sitting in the couch. To his right, her lunch; as well as an entire assortment of sandwiches on a platter with bottles of Soulglad as refreshments.

Stelle:*locks door* Where are the chips?

Caelus:*points to self*

Stelle:…Really? Like “I’m all that and a bag of chi-” you are so dumb. Dumb I say! *removes jacket* For the record, this isn’t charming. You didn’t succeed. *removes gloves* I’m just feeling a little silly.

Caelus:Of course.

Stelle:I’m eating first. I need energy for the “negotiation.”

Caelus:By all means. Help yourself.

Stelle:*red*….*dims lights*

Caelus:You’re going to eat in this lighting?

I Love You, I Love You Not ❤️ Pt. 1

A/n: Part of the fic I was working on. I decided to split it into 2 parts and post the other part later! So expect it 😁

“You’re playing hard to get aren’t ya?,” The white haired male asked you in a playful tone, “That’s fine. I’ll keep playing along if that means I’ll get to have you.” Something is wrong with him, not knowing what but there is definitely a few screws loose up there. At the beginning of the exam you were entertaining his advances, flirting back, letting him touch you. At least that was until the two of you got on the airship and his flirty habits became more aggressive. You would be lying if you said it didn’t scare you at all because it really did. 

 “You’re really pretty like…a bird!” A bird…Birds are pretty but wasn’t that an odd thing to compare you to? Killua got really close to your face as his hand lifted up to your neck, slightly stroking the area making you jitter from how tickled you felt. “I wonder how a collar would look around this neck and maybe a nice silver chain to go with it. Or would you prefer a cage?” You moved your face away from his as the warning sirens were going off in your head.

 Trusting your instinct you had excused yourself explaining to him that you needed to use the bathroom. You quickly got up and left him sitting there at the windows of the airship. Finding the bathroom, you began to wash your neck, feeling icky especially after he implied such a thing. When you felt ready you left out the bathroom but you weren’t ready for him to be outside the door. “Took you long enough!” Killua reached out for your wrist and dragged you along with him. 

 “Killua, where are we going?” He was leading you away from the other contestants and into a more secluded place. 

 “I know a place.” That was his answer. All cheerful not being able to read the room and notice how uneasy he was making you feel. The place is question was an unlocked room. Inside the room there were boxes and old dusty appliances. Assuming that this was some kind of storage room. You noticed the little makeshift bed on the floor, did he make this? “Get comfortable.” 

 Killua’s aurora gave off something similar to bloodlust. Not his usual friendly disposition of his. You were terrified, this wasn’t like fighting an opponent at all. “Killua, I want to sleep with the others…”Killua’s attention focused on you. He was currently unlacing his shoes, pulling them off. He didn’t say anything just smiled your way and turned his attention back to the task. “I’ll just head there—“

 “Leave and I’ll kill you.” Now that stopped you right in your tracks. “I said get comfortable so do it.” As much as you didn’t want to listen you also didn’t want to die either, so you listened to him. Although physically you were comfortable mentally you were far from it. You could not get your mind or heart to calm down enough to sleep. Killua on the other hand was enjoying himself. He snuggled up against your backside, til the point you could feel all of him and you mean ALL. He was obviously turned on at the moment and you just prayed that he would not do anything. 

“Having trouble sleeping? I can help with that~” Killua’s hand found went from your side to exploring lower down your body. Sitting up you reached for his hand pushing it away from your body.

 “I can’t do this Killua, I just can’t!” You were about to throw the table cloth off of you and head out but before you could something hit the back of your neck really hard.

 “Thats fine I ᵈᵒⁿ’ᵗ ⁿᵉᵉᵈ ʸᵒᵘ ᵃʷᵃᵏe..” Before you knew what was going on you were already drifting off into sleep. 

  I feel heavy…did he paralyze me? Your body wasn’t moving. You just remember the pain you felt before you were knocked out. There feels like a weight is on top of you. You couldn’t feel much in your fingertips or any part of your body. Your surroundings were quiet except for the ringing in your ears and the faint sound of someone breathing really hard. However it felt like something was moving inside of you and something hot and hard was rubbing against you occasionally. 

  What is that? You tried your hardest to make sense of what was going on. With your senses impaired all you had was your imagination. You could feel your neck being tickled again, something hot was being blown against it and the feeling of something rubbing into you began to become faster and rougher. 

“Fuck…that feels—“ You didn’t have time to register anything that was said your mind drifts off back into darkness.

  Killua had woken you up after the airship led reached the next destination. He seemed to be back to his usual self but he was still touchy if not even more than before. But after the night in the airship, you wanted no parts of Killua and wanted to avoid crossing paths with him, but luck didn’t seem to be on your side today.

 You had fallen through the tiles and ended up in a dark room inside of trick tower. The fall was pretty rough and as your vision adjusted you realized you were not alone. 5 other contestants were in the room with you, a green haired boy, a blonde, 2 old men and of course Killua. His face lit up when he seen you and all the others were relieved someone else finally joined them and they could advance. Now you have to be stuck with him for the next couple of hours. As you all navigated your way through the tower Killua held onto your hand. You wanted to separate the two of you but he wouldn’t let you get too far and every time he let go of your hand he would grab you back until he was holding onto your wrist. Not liking this at all as it made it feel like he was controlling you instead.

  After the first trial you all were stuck in a room for the next 50 hours. You made it your mission to talk to Killua and get him to understand he is making you very uncomfortable. Also you still feel like something happened in that storage room. You felt unusual the morning after and it seemed like your clothes were taken off because they weren’t how they were before you went to sleep. You found yourself a dimly lit corner in the room and got comfortable, using the blankets and stuff provided to you.

 You could feel eyes on you and you already knew who was looking at you. You just wanted to ignore him all together and get this stupid exam over with so you won’t have to be around him anymore.

Only 10 hours went by! Everyone was sleeping at least you think they were. You couldn’t get to sleep to worried that the person who somehow snuck his way beside you would try something. “Are you awake, do you need help sleeping again?” He whispered to you, his eyes opening up as he smirked at you. 

 “No! I don’t need your help!” You turned away from him facing the wall.

 “Aweee, why so moody? Are you mad at me?” He was making fun of you, “Come here, I’ll make it all better.” He was reaching over to you again but you smacked his hand away with a swiftness.

 “Leave me alone Killua!” You didn have the patience for his games, “I don’t forgive you, Killua?”

 He got quiet and the aura behind you shifted drastically, “Forgive me? Why would I need your forgiveness, when I didn’t do anything wrong?”

 “You tell me! First you creep me out when your bird cage comments, then you force me to sleep in a storage room with you, and you knock me out against my will! Oh and let’s not forget I’m pretty sure you did something to me while I was sleeping!” You snapped at him and you’re pretty sure you struck a cord because now the atmosphere around you two changed and he wasn’t looking all too happy.

 “Well if you didn’t like me why’d you lead me on? All that flirting back, did you really think you could play with me?” His voice was cold. You felt like a bunny that entered the den of a dragon. 

This was not going to end well…

Hello, whats your opinion on this as a mai fan

I think this person is either misremembering the show or deliberately mischaracterizing what Mai, because what they're claiming she revealed on The Beach is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of what she actually said.

She doesn't say "My parents used me as a pawn in their game to get close to royals" or "My parents never wanted me to learn anything about combat." She tells us that her parents will let her do whatever she likes - as long as she BEHAVES. As long as she's invisible. Out of sight, out of mind. They don't care what she does, as long as it doesn't affect them, as long as she's quiet. And that's what she says in an attempt to DOWNPLAY how bad her relationship with them actually is and how it affected her emotionally.

When Mai is complaining that she doesn't like Omashu because there's nothing for her to do, her mom doesn't try to talk to her about activities that could keep her busy/entertained, or show any concern about how she's adapting to moving to a whole new country, to a city where she doesn't know anyone. Instead, she ignores her daughter's attempts to talk about her feelings by reminding her that this is important for her father. There's no attempt to make this situation benefitial for her as well, it's all about how she needs to be grateful that someone else is happy about it.

Yes, when Tom-Tom is "kidnaped", they won't stop panicking, and are overjoyed when he's brought back safely. But there's not a word on them being concerned over Mai's well-being when she's leaving in a potentially dangerous mission. They don't show up to congratulate her at any point after she helps the Fire Nation conquer Ba Sing Se, even though that is a legendary feat. Favoritism much?

In book 3, literally the only adults we see in her home are servants, and considering one needs an airship to go to the island where the boiling rock is, it's pretty safe to say her uncle can't be dropping by too often. They let their 15-year-old daughter live in a different country, without any adult acting as her guardian - that's how much they don't care about her.

And speaking of her uncle, yes, he is doing a good job of being an attentive family member (is aware of her situation with Zuko, immediately lets her out of prison the second he knows he can get away with it) - but using that to claim "Thefore her family life is fine" is absurd because, again, that's her UNCLE, not her parents. By that logic, Zuko shouldn't be complaining about his family either, after all he has Iroh and somehow that is supposed to cancel out being raised by freaking Ozai, riiiiiiight?

And speaking of Zuko, there's a reason why, in a finale where everyone is being reunited with their family and friends, even when the travel time doesn't make any goddamn sense, Mai's happy ending involves a heartwarming reuining with him, and he's delighted to see her - but there's still nothing about her parents. Their daughter was sent to prison for life, then her boyfriend became Fire Lord giving them THE perfect chance to come rescue her, and they STILL are nowhere to be found.

For fuck's sake, AZULA showed more love for Mai than her parents did. Girl was clearly happy to see her again, and even gave her a "hug" that wasn't that touchy because Mai doesn't like it. In "The Lost Adventures" we find out that she was also the one who pushed for her and Zuko to get together (though that also ties into her knowing that was the only way to make Zuko come home despite his guilt over what he did to Iroh). Even on The Beach, she's the one who first connects the dots and realizes that Mai is always so aloof because she's used to being told to shut up when she says something inconvenient.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying her parents had no political ambitions (the Yang comics leaning into that was one of the few good things about his writting). Obviously they were happy that their daughter was best friends with the princess and dating the heir to the throne, and I'm sure Mai didn't appreciate being treated more as asset than as a daughter.

But her complaint was not about that. It was about how her parents are simply not part of her life at all. She's an outsider looking in. She can stand next to them and do as she's told, or she can leave. What she can't do is actually engage with them, mean anything to them, expect anything from them, rely on them at all.

Mai's parents are neglectful to a degree that, in the real world, could potentially have them lose custody of her because she consistently has to turn to literally anyone else instead of them whenever she needs anything.

Is it really any wonder she had a soft-spot for Zuko, aka the boy that is always disregarded by his father, to the point of literally being kicked out of his home, and is actually openly pissed off about it and will let everyone know it?

Tyrian Callows - The Master of Murder, Mayhem & Multitasking!

So, I recently saw a post discussing Tyrian Callows and I wanted to go into why I find him quite interesting despite his overall demeanor seeming to be that of a nihilistic serial killer.

Off the cuff, when I first saw Tyrian I hated him, "Oh good, another cackling serial killer, I hope e only exists to die & be replaced".

Then he ambushes RNJR & suddenly, oh suddenly I'm having fun!

Because he's not just cackling & killing, he's bombastic, spewing purple prose and strutting around like he's on a stage, then flinging himself through walls for dramatic poses. He waits after receiving major surprise attacks to reveal they didn't hurt him.

He is in essence, a theater kid who happens to also be a cultist and serial killer and I think that is incredibly entertaining if nothing else.

Beyond that I find his fawning behavior on Salem intriguing. Like, even beyond his failure, when Salem is growing in fury & others like Watts & Hazel know to get the fuck out. He starts irrationally offering her acts of service in a bid to make her happy before fleeing as well.

Like, whatever is going on there is interesting if nothing else, I think.

Then there's the fact he is far more insightful than characters like him are usually written as but, its not at the expense of is manic disposition as it often ends up being with say, Joker, bleh.

What I mean is, Tyrian is very good at analyzing people, what they want, what they feel, what will hurt them the most, what above all drives them & can articulate it very easily. Ala his confrontation with Mercury only knowing violence & being too afraid to leave it.

Yet at the same time when out under pressure by Clover, Qrow & Robyn he very quickly starts losing his cool, his mannerism and behaviors become more unhinged & wild, he is legitimately not all there. & it is isn't until he's had time to cool off in the airship that he's back on his game.

Finally there is his 'rivalry' qith Qrow.

To me the fun thing is that there is zero rivalry on Tyrian's end.

Qrow is just someone who he met in V4 and knew to be a capable fighter & important enemy agent. He was excited to fight & kill him & was briefly knocked off his game when disarming Qrow did nothing to slow him down.

Most Hunters based their fighting styles on their weapons so disarming them tends to be a winning move unless they are Hazel, Tyrian or Yang style combatants.

But he was back on his game in short order and still having a great time and even managed to essentially score the win... Right until Ruby dismembered him & he did not take it gracefully.

To say the least, Tyrian is definitely arrogant, I think that much is self evident.

It makes sense, it took a cooperative operation of Mitral Hunters & Atlesian Specialists to take him down. The Queen of Grimm came to collect him herself. His Semblance lets him take Aura out of a fight. & by all accounts he definitely seems to be among the most dangerous combatants on Remnant even without said Semblance.

So yeah, not surprised that he was both knocked off his game & angry about the injuries but after that he doesn't seem to dwell on them much the way Cinder spent several volumes seething over the damage Ruby did to her.

His little foreshadowing moment to Ruby before the election massacre & enjoying Qrow's suffering during Volume 7 very much seem like things he'd have done regardless cos he's just like that.

Tyrian will however exploit the idea of a rivalry to his advantage.

What I mean is, Qrow makes it clear when ambushing him with Clover & Robyn that he holds a grudge over their last fight. Tyrian doesn't utilize that in the three on one beatdown he gets, he's barely keeping his head above water most of that fight.

But once he is back in the game he's cheerfully egging on the break down in the Atlas and Mantle alliance. He's completely ignoring Qrow until the man jumps on him & even then doesn't offer him any unique attention.

Its only once he's established that things with Qrow and Clover have degraded as far as they have that he jumps in. He avoids starting off too violently to see how things go & is well pleased by Clover's dogged commitment to his orders.

Also likely dismissing Tyrian as just a violent lunatic.

It is then and only then that he leans on the idea that he actually wants a rematch with Qrow. But even then he still patiently waits for Qrow to float the idea first. He is playing into Qrow's grudge & Qrow's belief in a Shounen style rivalry & with it the belief that Tyrian will ignore Clover themoment he is not interrupting the fight and duke it out with Qrow.

But Tyrian only plays along with that and instead uses Clover's defeat to end his fucking life and frame Qrow for it.

He certainly has fun twisting the knife but again, this is stuff he does with everyone when he gets the chance. & it serves to make things more complex for Atlas and the now rebellious heroes than it would if Clover & Qrow had died together. Especially as enemy reinforcements are coming.

After this, again, neither Qrow or Ruby warrant a mention from him.

This is his job, they were parts of his assignments and Tyrian just happens to love what he's doing. Which humorously aligns very well with the life advice he gave Emerald and Mercury. Even if that was just because he thinks it'd be fun to be given the chance to kill them.

Anyway those are my takes on Tyrian Callows, evil as fuck, but smarter & more interesting than the usual portrayals of his archetype!

So if Wukong didn't know MK was playing superhero, why was he able to be caught by Spider Queen? The answer is clear. He took the younger cubs down to see the parade. That way, he could be closer to the fireworks, and his kids are entertained. He ended up being caught up in the initial attack and discovered MK playing hero while trying to evacuate the cubs away from the angry spider lady trying to turn people into spider zombies.

Wukong is not happy, but at this point there are far more important things to deal with. He orders MK to get his siblings somewhere safe while he handles Spider Queen. When MK protests, he tells him that MK's arachnophobia would only get in the way, and he is still Sun Wukong, the gods be damned Great Sage Equal To Heaven and the Monkey King. He isn't so far into his retirement that he can't put an upstart little princess in her place.

The plan backfires and Wukong gets captured by LBD and Spider Queen, of course, but hey, the Noodle Crew gets to meet MK's siblings! Sandy babysits them while they're in Heaven trying to get the stuff. All they know of it is that MK's mom was caught by the Spider Queen, they don't know yet exactly who his parent is. Not until much later when Wukong and DBK break out of their bonds and save them.

"Holy shit, is that Sun Wukong!?" ;Probably Tang

"Mom!" :MK

"MOM!?" :Literally eveyone

After all is said and dine Wukong makes good on his promise of a long talk, or rather lecture, and MK is grounded.

"I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU WOULD BE SO RECKLESS! Xiaotian, your father an I taught you better than this! What were you thinking!?"

"But when you were my age you were at war with Heaven, though!"

"And look what that got me! Thrown in a furnace and pinned under a mountain for 500 years! What you did was stupid and reckless. What if you'd gotten hurt!? Your still mortal, MK!"

Yesss. Wukong canonically adores New Years, and I def agree that love extends to the cubs too.

Wukong does a "surprise" visit to Megapolis to show the younger cubs the New Years Parade + check up on his eldest while MK is helping Pigsy with the foodtruck. Likely all in glamours, but MK 100% gets an embarassing visit from his mom at work. The Noodle shop gang tease him endlessly about it.

Then cue the Spider Queen's invasion, and Wukong giving MK the cubs to watch for the moment while he Kings Up. MK doesn't want his mom to go in his condition, but Wukong is still The Monkey King, and has no idea that his son has been superhero-ing for the past couple of months.

The gang all meet up on Sandy's airship, and the kiddos glamours all drop from stress. This is where the gang confirms (they had suspiscions) that MK is a disguised demon - they dont mind since thats sadly common in human-dominated cities. MK specifically being a monkey demon gets Tang asking questions though.

Red Son shows up and has a brain-fart mid-plan when he recognises who "Noodle Boy" actually is;

Red Son: "Xiaotian!? I haven't seen you since we were calves! This explains so much!" MK, nervous sweating: "Not now dude! My mom got captured by the Spider Queen, and my dad is MIA right now." Red Son: "Ah but of course. Seems we have the same predicament then. No fear, I have a plan to defeat the Spider Queen and save our respective parents." Tang, panic-nerding: "MK, how do you know Red Son!?" MK, flash of SWK-esque anger: "NOT NOW."

The gang get to the Celestial Realm and retrieve what they need to make the antidote - though not without attracting the attention of a certain hound that just realised her fave monkey is here.

MK, petting the dog: "I'm sorry Quan. I can't play right now! I'm saving the city." Xiaotian Quan: (*sad whine!*)

Meanwhile at the Spider Mech; DBK has finally met his little brother/enemy once again. DBK in his anger, yells about Sun Wukong's "little-thief successor MK" ruining so many of his family's attempts at gaining power, and Wukong just blanks;

Wukong, scary parent voice: "Xiaotian has been doing what!?" DBK: "The Little Thief is Xiaotian!?"

DBK would also shout at Wukong for putting himself in danger in his condition, but quiets when he learns that Macaque is missing. Tieshan had seemed worried since DBK got back (infact, maybe its why she decided to free him), and everyone knows that the shadow monkey wouldn't leave his mate without reason. When LBD arrives, DBK and Wukong immediate get a chill up their spines. They both know that she's somehow involved with Mac's disappearance... DBK has his super-saiyan moment of worried-anger and frees both himself and his xiandi so that they can find their reckless kids.

The Noodle Shop gang (+ Red Son and the cubs) bust on through with the spider-venom antidote and manage to subdue the Spider Queen with their combined forces.

Tang is about to fanboy at the sight of Sun Wukong in the flesh when MK and the cubs yell something that shatters his preconceptions.

MK & the cubs: "Mom!" "Mama!" Noodle Shop Gang: "MOM?!?" Wukong, swarmed by baby monkeys: "Thank Nuwa you're all ok!" (*hugs them all tight*) Wukong: (*suddenly bonks MK on head with a sandal*) Wukong: "And you! How dare you not tell me that you've been fighting demons this whole time! You told me you were only getting a job for mortal experience!" MK: "But mom! I did get a job! I've been using my spare time trying to figure out what happened to dad!" Wukong: "Which I specifically told you Not to do!! Your father has gotten himself tangled up with a very dangerous witch and I'm not letting you run into one of her traps!" Noddle Shop Gang + DB fam: (*standing at a safe distance from the yelling*) Tang, dizzy with excitement: "Anyone else feel like they're in a fantasy right now?" Mei: "Hm, not really. I knew Xiaotian since we were pups. My grunkle Ao Lie is the same dragon-horse from the stories." Tang: "Excuse me!?"

Erlang shows up on Earth asking Wukong tf just happened - his third eye showed him the chaos in the Celestial Realm and Lao Tzu is pissed for his missing pills and Furnace. But he immediately leaves when he sees tje carnage of a saved mortal city + Sun Wukong. (Erlang: "Ah. Say no more.")

Dinner Dates

Lyney likes to take you out to eat once in a while. He wants it to be a proper date, so it will be one of the few times where you won’t see Lynette with him. Instead, it’s just you and him enjoying a nice meal together.

Lyney is very familiar with all sorts of restaurants and cafes in Fontaine, and although he could take you to eat at the restaurant of Hotel Bouffes d’ete, he instead chooses to bring you to a small yet cozy eatery. It may not be the most well-known place, but it has delicious food with a homecooked touch, a cozy ambiance, and it’s not as noisy as other cafes and restaurants in Fontaine. The perfect place for the two of you to relax and chat while sharing a delicious meal.

While dining, Lyney flirts with you, shooting you a charming smirk while teasing you about feeding him the way lovers do. Though his remark and that alluring look in his eye make your heart race, you’re not one to back down from a challenge. To Lyney’s surprise, you gather some of your food onto a fork and bring it up to the magician’s mouth with an adorable smile and a cute “Say ‘ahh’~”.

You can only watch in quiet amusement as you successfully turn the tables and cause the magician to blush and stammer awkwardly, finding himself suddenly tongue-tied. Your amused giggle deepens his blush, and he tries to hide it behind the rim of his hat.

However, the same trick won’t work on him twice. The next time you dine together, you try to tease him by offering your fork to him again, but Lyney smoothly accepts the food, eating it from the fork without hesitation. He even licks his lips in a seductive manner while crooning how delicious the food is, just to try and fluster you.

He beams and offers to feed you in return, holding up some of his own food for you to try. Though initially this mutual feeding started off as a means to tease one another, it helped to deepen your relationship and bring you closer as a result.

For anniversaries or romantic holidays like Valentine’s, Lyney will want to take you out to eat too, but he’ll want to make it memorable for his love. During one such occasion, Lyney plans an extravagant dinner on an airship in the late evening, complete with a bouquet of rainbow roses that he presents to you with a flourish and a deep bow, and a gorgeous view over Fontaine’s landscape.

He entertains you throughout dinner with some simple but unique magic tricks, such as making food appear or disappear, and pulling out more flowers from god-knows-where and threading them into your hair and clothes. He also presents an assortment of cards to you with various desserts depicted on them and tells you to pick one so he can guess what it is, only to give you the real dessert at the end.

The sparkle of delight in your pretty eyes, and your bright smile and laugh are a worthy reward for the long days of practice he put in to make these tricks work. Actually, scratch that. The kiss you pull him into as the two of you stand under the starry sky is the best reward ever. As much as Lyney tried to make this night unforgettable for you, he would be a liar if he said it wasn’t memorable for him as well. The feeling of the breeze weaving through your hair, your soft lips and sweet scent, and the city far below you will forever be etched into his memory, and he’ll often reminisce about it afterwards with a wide grin on his face.
